- 0:00Trick yourself. And yet in this specific area of
- 0:05getting used to being humbled. In other words, accepting the
- 0:11fact that you sit in the back that you not listen to, that
- 0:13someone doesn't give you a chance to say a word, that
- 0:16someone doesn't invite you to, someone that sells you all the
- 0:18classic stuff. Trick yourself to be OK with it
- 0:20and get used to it and not. So a person develops a real,
- 0:24firm, genuine humility and that is true.
- 0:28Repeat and constant and slow and practice the awesome movie.
- 0:34Now Hyatt Vonen, there's the point you were saying from last
- 0:40week how it's Manuel and your name's Shanim.
- 0:43Another way of developing this mindset is to think first one is
- 0:47through how you practice and how you get accustomed to it.
- 0:49I did. Ask you a question I missed
- 0:52yesterday. I didn't listen to it.
- 0:54There's thoughts about sitting in a more basic seed clothes,
- 0:59that's great. Yeah, he says you have to carry
- 1:01yourself the way he says a person has to actually get used
- 1:04to practicing and getting accustomed to humility.
- 1:07That means I'm trying to be low key and I got used to being low
- 1:12key. And even if it's a sketch
- 1:13originally, I really want to stay in the better seat, but I'm
- 1:15accepting stay in the back seat. The solely happens is and only
- 1:19slowly is that I'm OK. I do it, I'm OK with it.
- 1:22Nothing happens. I see that I'm fine.
- 1:25And there I was. I got accustomed to not being
- 1:27treated like a big deal because I wasn't so noticed and I wasn't
- 1:31in such a loud spot and I accepted it.
- 1:34Dan Lee Smith, So the front row. Is going to be empty.
- 1:36Yeah, I said this to someone from the front row.
- 1:38I asked about this. You're right telling me
- 1:40speaking, a person should not be singing the front row for the
- 1:43sake of a row singing the front row.
- 1:46Maybe for some other reason they could play better or whatever
- 1:48other reason they're going to come up with, but for the sake
- 1:50of front row itself, it shouldn't be in there.
- 1:52Because if front row means you're going to be more noticed
- 1:55and they have a more Hazaka barus and therefore you know
- 1:58more of a thing and you're playing into the opposite of
- 2:01your motives, you're playing into being relevant.
- 2:04How we've said relevancy and being being busy being relevant
- 2:08to really plays into directly arrogance because if I am busy
- 2:13with being noticed, relevant, heard from invited to being
- 2:19recognized as a big deal, I'm into that in a sense.
- 2:23I'm playing right into the mindset that I need to be a big
- 2:26deal. And then that's arrogance.
- 2:28Some people often say, you know, I don't.
- 2:31I'm not arrogant. I don't get assaulted life
- 2:33something you notice. I just want to be a thing.
- 2:35I want to be. You're right.
- 2:37Are you a core? You're absolutely right.
- 2:39You have a right to exist. Like we said on Saturday night,
- 2:42you have a right to feel good. You have a right to recognize.
- 2:44Well, that's true, but you're tiptoeing on a real need of
- 2:48arrogance and you notice that same person who just wants to be
- 2:52noticed and just wants to exist and just wants irrelevant, but
- 2:55also eventually just get insulted and just get hurt and
- 2:58just get upset and just get angry and just get frustrated.
- 3:02Because the more a person is dependent on existing in the
- 3:06eyes of others, the more he feeds into that, the more his
- 3:10life is built and modeled into being that.
- 3:15And then he runs the risk of all those hard things that come and
- 3:19all those issues that come with trying to be a big deal.
- 3:23It's the reality of life. If I live life with flashy
- 3:25clothing, front seat, I demand attention, I demand being spoken
- 3:31to, and I can't sit at the back of the table and I get upset if
- 3:34they ignore me. If I live that life, that's
- 3:36automatically going to feed into an existence that needs to be a
- 3:40very big deal. And that right there may not be
- 3:42officially arrogance, but same thing as error.
- 3:45That's his point. She had to practice being OK
- 3:49with being low key. That's what you need now.
- 3:52A4 succeed a lot of people. That really like that.
- 3:54What? Like when we're talking about
- 3:56Leslie, that's sitting in like seating charts, the holidays and
- 4:00jewels. Like this guy turns into, you
- 4:04know, the most managed known psychopath over.
- 4:08You know absolutely bringing it 20 years, right?
- 4:12True. Well, that stuff happens.
- 4:14I I don't know from I'm sitting in those seats.
- 4:17I don't really know the feeling, but I guess is what happens is,
- 4:21is that people never minds think, play it out.
- 4:24OK, they gave me a bad seat. They gave the Bento backwards
- 4:28for so and so. It must be because they give a
- 4:30lot, or they're well off, or they're much more popular.
- 4:34It could be anything. And they translate it as I'm not
- 4:38worth anything. Put anything in your mind.
- 4:40You can put any reason you want in your money, right?
- 4:42And a lot of times the reason, not even some are true.
- 4:44You know what they are true. You know what if you're a, a
- 4:48person who's living on the life of being relevant, we're not
- 4:52going to call them arrogant, but it's one of the same if you're
- 4:54living that mindset, all these things get you crazy.
- 4:58And if you're a person who accepted low key and who accepts
- 5:01being genuine, it was OK just being a regular person.
- 5:04No one. Imagine that person.
- 5:06Just imagine that person who's very well off and nobody knows
- 5:09it. OK, the guy gives money to the
- 5:11shul behind the scenes and nobody knows it and he's treated
- 5:14like a regular person. She's like a regular guy.
- 5:17Such a person which doesn't really exist that much in the
- 5:20world. Such a person is literally
- 5:22living the life of character. Why?
- 5:25Because that person is going to develop a sense of I'm just, I'm
- 5:30treated the same way. That means I'm kind of low key.
- 5:33That means and no one sweats that I'm around.
- 5:36No one bends all about course with me too much.
- 5:38No one is nervous of what I have to say.
- 5:40That is the type of person you all wish to be.
- 5:42That's the key. Yeah.
- 5:43We want to be that person who's who's blessed.
- 5:46Well, it seemed like the person is a regular guy.
- 5:47That's literally the person you want to be because you're
- 5:50genuine. You have real friends still.
- 5:52You still are treated like a real person.
- 5:55You are treated just the same and you able to develop like a
- 5:58regular person. The moment people start going
- 6:01with the with the, you know, the diva prima Donna attention and
- 6:05you run the risk of not really knowing the truth of who you are
- 6:08and how you're treated. And you're right.
- 6:11You compare a guy who doesn't have that's the guy who does
- 6:15have they're treated very differently, typically in
- 6:17different organizations and and then they somewhat deserve to be
- 6:19treated differently. By the way, some of this is
- 6:21deserved. A lot of us deserve if one guy
- 6:24is taken care of, I don't know 10% of the shoes issues, right?
- 6:29Or the school's money, he deserves to be treated that way.
- 6:32So now this really runs a major risk because he's treated that
- 6:35way because he deserves it. But now he doesn't really know
- 6:37the truth and now he can't really accept being a regular
- 6:41guy. And you're allowed these risks.
- 6:43We want to be people who are OK being treated like a regular
- 6:48person. Why?
- 6:50Because then you develop a regular sense of character and
- 6:54you're OK with normal issues, and that makes you much more of
- 6:57a genuine person. If you are demanding, expecting,
- 7:02frustrated when you're not treated properly, those things,
- 7:05you don't know the truth. You have no idea how you would
- 7:08function in a regular society, and you don't really know what
- 7:11regular life looks like, and you can't develop regular character.
- 7:14This is a challenge, right? And the reality is, it's hard to
- 7:18work around this challenge. The only way to do it is treat
- 7:20all people equal. But was it?
- 7:22Always like that. Like like my favorite story to
- 7:24hear his daltered story when the rabbi sent the so and so his
- 7:29money back because he wasn't where the rabbi wanted the money
- 7:35to come to the halt, right. Having to hear like a story like
- 7:39that. And then, OK, maybe they if
- 7:41someone could say, oh, he could have driven him away, whatever,
- 7:43but he didn't anything. He made the what they stand for
- 7:48so much more. So, you know, it's like a SO.
- 7:52The truth is always Dad takes a certain level of strength.
- 7:57Such a person didn't take what didn't take money from someone,
- 8:01according to the story, who we didn't approve of.
- 8:06I'd say organization don't do it.
- 8:08All right, We didn't approve of the way they made their money or
- 8:10whatever. Well, it doesn't say more from
- 8:14certain people didn't approve. So now that takes a certain type
- 8:17type of strength. And it's also, yeah.
- 8:21It's also borderline but and it could insult someone do turn.
- 8:25Away did it all and maybe not consistent.
- 8:28All this is on the. Table have to know who you're
- 8:30doing that. To but the the depth of that
- 8:32mindset is very impressive, which is the idea that you could
- 8:35treat people somewhat equal. It's very difficult to do.
- 8:39It's very, very difficult to and they talk about great people,
- 8:42how that was the thing that they that you couldn't tell if
- 8:44talking to a wealthy person or not a wealthy person.
- 8:47It's a very difficult level and it's hard to get done.
- 8:50Why? Because these sources, these,
- 8:52let's say they're rabbis, leaders, whatever it is, they
- 8:55see them literally getting 4 on the table from these people and
- 8:58now they have to treat everyone the same.
- 9:01It's difficult, but it does for the well person.
- 9:04It does do them a great service. You're doing a wealthy person a
- 9:07very big disservice if you don't level with him like a normal
- 9:11person. Why?
- 9:13Because you can never actually function at a cellular like a
- 9:16human being. He's completely being stretched.
- 9:18He has fake friends treat her fakely.
- 9:21He's got nothing right. Even his family treat.
- 9:23Something right, Right. Because they're scared of him.
- 9:25Yeah, I understand. They're scared of him.
- 9:28They're afraid of what he's going to say if all these
- 9:30things. And maybe that's God bless them
- 9:33into that position. That's true somewhat.
- 9:35But at the same time, he cannot adopt this mida, which is 1 of
- 9:39humility. You want the humility of being
- 9:41genuine. Humility and genuine is 1 and
- 9:44the same. Shake it and God of Oz wanted to
- 9:48say arrogance is fake. Why is arrogance fake?
- 9:52Because no one has the right to be arrogant.
- 9:54We all have no source of our success.
- 9:56We all have nothing to do with what we're holding.
- 9:58And we know the right to be arrogant.
- 9:59And someone who carries himself with loud words and makes a big
- 10:02deal on these things, that person is a sketch.
- 10:05That's the point, right? How do you get to your move?
- 10:08Now let's step further though. How do you get to this mindset,
- 10:11this approach, aside from the practice, which is very key and
- 10:16asking your friends to treat you like a human being and by your
- 10:18rabbi and those who are involved with you treat me like a regular
- 10:21person and be OK with that. On top of that Haid bonen who al
- 10:26nahim Shanim right, Another contemplation different areas
- 10:31that makes you humble different ways.
- 10:35One is Al had one vote from the rabbi who I'm is Muscar, but the
- 10:42I keep a caviar da nayebata. No where you came from.
- 10:51No where you had it. Where we come from.
- 10:54Tipasa luja. A small drop.
- 10:58It means to where the person provided from.
- 11:01It's nothing. He comes from nothing because
- 11:04there's parents. He comes from nothing.
- 11:05Small drop. And where you going?
- 11:08Lemcom Afar Rima vitola. Where are we all headed?
- 11:13It's a beautiful place called the ground, full of dirt and
- 11:17worms, just being very real with us.
- 11:20Dirt and worms, etcetera, right? What's the point?
- 11:23The point is, I cannot change that.
- 11:25I can try all I want. I can spend billions of dollars.
- 11:29I cannot change the fact that I am headed to the dust.
- 11:33There's no other way. And who am I going to stand in
- 11:37front of God? Now you play those three points
- 11:41out, you become automatically an unbelievably humble person.
- 11:45If you think about that too much, you feel like a zero,
- 11:48right? Where am I coming from?
- 11:50Nothing. Where am I hated?
- 11:52Where am I hated to less than nothing, a dirty version of
- 11:55nothing dirt not just stop nothing.
- 11:58I made it to dirt worms. This is rough, right?
- 12:01And who am I standing in front of Hashem who can see everything
- 12:04I've ever done And he thought that I ever had any comment to
- 12:07ever made any approach I was inappropriate, any dishonesty
- 12:11that was wrong. Any move that I made to hurt
- 12:14another person who can tell everything I've done, I'm in for
- 12:18it right now. What does that do?
- 12:20Should it scare you? Yes, but more importantly than
- 12:23scare you, he should say chill out.
- 12:25Relax with the oh, the compliment someone showed you.
- 12:29Relax with the credit that you're demanding.
- 12:31Relax is the fact that you're upset and so and so didn't
- 12:33realize what you did for them. Right?
- 12:35All those things that we have in our mind.
- 12:37All right, relax. Why relax?
- 12:40Because you put everything on the table.
- 12:42Chill out. You're not that big a deal and
- 12:44neither am I. That is supposed to bring us all
- 12:47down to way beneath human mentality to go.
- 12:52That's not meant to be a disservice.
- 12:54This is actually meant to be an unbelievable service.
- 12:57Why? Because if I would know the
- 12:59truth and I'd see myself in the real light, where I came from,
- 13:04where I'm headed, and who I'm going to stand in front of the
- 13:06big three, if I would see myself with these three approaches, I
- 13:10would never get upset again, never get super hurt again.
- 13:16And people can mess me over. That's true.
- 13:18People can hurt me. People are going to attempt to
- 13:20hurt me, but at the same time, I'm not going to take in a sense
- 13:24and say do they know who I'm dealing with?
- 13:26So they know my reputation, they know what I've done.
- 13:29That's true. You have a great reputation.
- 13:31You've done a lot. I'm very, very proud.
- 13:33I'm very impressed by it. It's reality, but you can use
- 13:36that on channel two ways you can use it to be do they wouldn't
- 13:40know I'm as some people stop midlife and they're on there
- 13:44reflecting on how certain ball players have a retirement tour.
- 13:49All right, it's in the entire year on the retirement tour.
- 13:54Do you know what talking about? Sure.
- 13:57Why does it get me nervous gets me nervous because the guys in
- 14:00the league 15 years all right, 15 years two of the first two
- 14:04years he spent breaking into the league.
- 14:06He had a couple of years that he was injured reserve.
- 14:09I don't know. This last year is 115th of your
- 14:14entire career, right? You're spending a big percentage
- 14:18of retired career, right? 8%, whatever it is of your
- 14:23career, getting accolades and again, playing the game.
- 14:27It's part of your life. Some people spend their life and
- 14:30even longer than that on a retirement tour.
- 14:33They did something when they were 30, right?
- 14:363235404550 you name it, whatever it is and spend the rest of
- 14:41their life reflecting on what they've done.
- 14:44That and now they expect a pound of activists in life.
- 14:47If you hit the retirement tour, that means you basically are
- 14:50saying to yourself, I'm done. I do what I have to do.
- 14:53You know what, you have a lot more to go, a lot more to do, a
- 14:56lot more to accomplish, and you don't want to be the end of the
- 14:59book, right? So that's the same thing.
- 15:01When someone has been in their reflective mood and they expect
- 15:04other people to treat them that way, their retirement tour, they
- 15:07basically say my career is over and I deserve the pound in the
- 15:10back. No, you have more to go.
- 15:14Relax with the accomplishments, chill out with what you've done.
- 15:17Continue to understand that there's much more to go.
- 15:19And you know what? The end of the at the end of the
- 15:21book might be the finest chapter.
- 15:24This is what a person has to realize and this is what he's
- 15:26telling you over here. Understand where you came from,
- 15:29where you're headed, where you're going to deal with, and
- 15:31then you go back to basic. I'm a basic individual.
- 15:35There's nothing about me that deserves anything.
- 15:39You go down that road, you can push forward, you can handle
- 15:42things. You can be, you know, wronged
- 15:46and handle it. You can be insulted and deal
- 15:47with it. You can be treated mistreated
- 15:50and you can go on, right? And you're functioning like a
- 15:53regular and being genuine, real, humble like a regular person
- 15:59supposed to be, not with a fake, hollow, bloated, angry,
- 16:04frustrated, always insulted, always mistreated mentality
- 16:08tattoos of people in the world. There's one guy that's going
- 16:10crazy every other minute, the other guy's loving life.
- 16:13The difference is literally this, knowing where you stand.
- 16:17And this is not meant to break you down.
- 16:19This is meant to make you realize the truth.
- 16:21That's all. What he's telling you right here
- 16:23is the truth. The truth is you came from
- 16:25nothing. The truth is they.
- 16:26No offense, all added to nothing.
- 16:28It's all the truth and if you have the mentality you can
- 16:30accomplish the world. But as a real person, nobody
- 16:34wants to be sketched. Right.
- 16:35So I feel like that works. Like my father was telling me,
- 16:40take the biggest guy, yeah, treat him like 0, right?
- 16:44And he comes back learning more. Yeah, honey percent.
- 16:47A real guy. Yeah, a real guy.
- 16:49Yeah, they but but keep on, you know, kissing up to him, right?
- 16:53The guys become undeable and then you lose them completely
- 16:56from your whole world. Because why are you without a
- 16:58person? And I've dealt with this.
- 17:00I am, I am naturally inclined to be a, what's the word A and a
- 17:08pacifist. I'm some of the ones that make
- 17:10people comfortable. My nature, OK.
- 17:13And when you do that too much and you try to bend over
- 17:16backwards too much and the way that makes everyone feel like
- 17:19you're worth $1,000,000, which is a very nice trait in general.
- 17:22Not to get the bad trait, but if you do too much, you run the
- 17:25risk of allowing a person to be an abusive person, to be a
- 17:30difficult person, and to be really a fake person because
- 17:34they have no idea what life knows about this.
- 17:37Someone I know is on my mind who I did this for a long time too,
- 17:41and they end up basically ended up blowing up and it was bad for
- 17:45them to be honest with you, it was bad for them.
- 17:47They never learnt what life is about and they never actually
- 17:51dealt with a person in a position like mine who actually
- 17:54doesn't is not doesn't go for this type of garbage.
- 17:57I didn't realize that I ended up really backfiring his life in my
- 18:00humble opinion, because you never really had nothing to do
- 18:02anything. You got to allow a person.
- 18:04Now this is a risk because you might lose people this way,
- 18:08right? I'm not telling you as a leader
- 18:10or as a father or as a grandfather to be tough in
- 18:13general. You have to be at the level with
- 18:15them in a real way, a father with his children.
- 18:18You find out that you know that your child doing something
- 18:20that's not proper right? So you could you could listen,
- 18:25you don't, you know, we don't do the whole thing.
- 18:27We don't want to lose them. We don't want them to stop
- 18:29telling us the truth. We all want this risk.
- 18:32I'm dealing with this risk right now all the time.
- 18:34I don't want them to stop hiding what happened in school, not
- 18:37telling what happens in their private life if I get upset at
- 18:40them by the same time, if you just make life too cozy, So
- 18:44little kids that make sense. But eventually over time, there
- 18:48will be times that you have to tell them, I don't approve and
- 18:52I'm not, I'm not going to accept it.
- 18:54It is that time. And when you do that, you're
- 18:57leveling with them. You're doing it for them.
- 18:58Something that's going to hurt them.
- 19:00You know what? That one move that you did
- 19:02whatever twice in their life, whatever few times you do in
- 19:05life, it won't be the best thing for them because they will stop
- 19:09and look and say, am I doing the right thing?
- 19:11I'm doing the wrong thing. But if they just fly this life,
- 19:14cozy life, comfortable life, and never are told by anybody and
- 19:19making a mistake, doing the wrong thing, and then never
- 19:22will, never will learn what life is about.
- 19:25This is the danger of allowing a person to think after
- 19:29everything. We like to make people
- 19:31comfortable. We love making people
- 19:32comfortable for sure. And in the, to our perspective,
- 19:35make it feel warm and make it feel good and make it feel
- 19:37welcoming. Absolutely.
- 19:39That's what the shoe is about. For example, that's the certain
- 19:42minds that they're about 100%. But you don't want to feed into
- 19:47a mentality that builds a person, a fake version of
- 19:50themselves for your children, for your family, for your
- 19:54congregants, for your friends. If you allow them to become that
- 19:57way, they will be abusive, they'll be difficult, they'll be
- 20:02a problem, and they'll never know.
- 20:05And they wish someone told I'm younger when they were younger.
- 20:08And you know why you make no mistake, they wish I think that
- 20:12I tell you right. All these mentalities will
- 20:20destroy fake thing called arrogance and bring you back to
- 20:24be humble. When a person stares and
- 20:29analyzes the preetute home lo to realize how limited or not
- 20:37limited, how small he really is in physical sense and Lord Tom,
- 20:43any person will lose his reason, Lina say Claude ella levosche
- 20:49villi callem. Any person will lose his sense
- 20:53of arrogance and his sense of being about other people.
- 20:57He'll be embarrassed and he'll be humbled.
- 20:59If you think any person's full life, he put it in front of the
- 21:02public. All right, let me play it out
- 21:04this way. You take a big deal guy, some
- 21:06guy's a big deal, and you put his entire life story in public.
- 21:11Was there? Would there be some part that's
- 21:13shameful, Some part it's embarrassing?
- 21:16Some girl he dated that he didn't treat properly, It was
- 21:18something he did wrong, some small business deal that he did
- 21:20in the beginning that he really wishes you had back, right?
- 21:23Something that he treated his parents at one point in life
- 21:25that he really did not proud of. Of course, there is some
- 21:28neighbor that he got upset at that he doesn't want people to
- 21:30see the yelling, right? Sometime they was parking and
- 21:33somewhere and he bumped in someone's car and he just went
- 21:36on to wait. There's something there.
- 21:37I mean, every person's got something.
- 21:39And if you would put that all in the community public and these
- 21:43people who walk around like he has to call in the old days,
- 21:47Heidi Teddy, Hottie, Tatsi, you name it, these people all of a
- 21:51sudden lose the whole Heidi Teddy.
- 21:53Why? Because in reality, there's
- 21:56something there that's embarrassing.
- 21:57So how about we live our lives we done on our money, not to
- 22:03make us embarrassed and ashamed and and low, but to make us
- 22:07real. The more real you are, the next
- 22:09time someone wrongs you, you look and you say they messed up.
- 22:13It's their base. I feel bad for them, but I'm not
- 22:17going to say that. Do they know what they're
- 22:18dealing with? Maybe I can say, do they know my
- 22:21reputation? Do they know that I'm a good guy
- 22:23and they're mistreating me? But I'm not going to say, do
- 22:26they know what they're messing with?
- 22:27That's not going to work. Instead, I'm going to continue
- 22:30all my way. I'm going to retain the humble
- 22:32straight way and I'm going to recognize that I live life in a
- 22:36very leveled, real, genuine four way.
- 22:40That's the point that you have when you see life, and that's
- 22:43why.
