- 0:05Speaker 1: And now, the mob guys creak or yell and use us.
- 0:29Speaker 2: That's right.
- 0:31Speaker 1: We do.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Call ourselves the Bob Guys.
- 0:45Speaker 3: I am Craig Colonese.
- 0:47Speaker 4: He is Wayne Dolcefino, although he is now on special
- 0:50Speaker 4: assignment for the rest of the day.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I saw that we have a call, and it's my fault.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I wasn't paying attention to that.
- 0:55Speaker 4: But Sharon, I think you've held on for a little while.
- 0:57Speaker 4: I have a bunch of Tallarico-connected audio I want to play,
- 1:01Speaker 4: but first I want to bring Sharon on the phone
- 1:03Speaker 4: real quick. Sharon, what do you want to talk about?
- 1:06Speaker 5: Hi, Craig.
- 1:07Speaker 6: I wanted to pick up on what Wayne was talking
- 1:11Speaker 6: about earlier, and he was hitting the mark.
- 1:13Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:14Speaker 6: We here in Harris County, we need to hear more
- 1:17Speaker 6: about what the commissioner's court actually has been doing, is doing,
- 1:22Speaker 6: and the ridiculous, as Wayne said, they're trying to put
- 1:27Speaker 6: lipstick on the pig at the public trough. And he's right.
- 1:35Speaker 6: And we need to hear more about that. And when
- 1:37Speaker 6: I talk with my neighbors, they don't know what the
- 1:40Speaker 6: heck's going on. And even if they go vote, they're
- 1:44Speaker 6: just going to vote a D because that's what they're
- 1:46Speaker 6: used to doing. And we need to get the news out.
- 1:49Speaker 6: So I really like what Wayne was saying about And
- 1:52Speaker 6: I'd like to hear him talk more about that, and
- 1:55Speaker 6: you too. And here's my suggestion. I've got Orlando Sanchez's
- 2:02Speaker 6: sign in my yard.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Good.
- 2:05Speaker 6: And he, as well as Abbott and Paxton, Ken Paxton,
- 2:10Speaker 6: and Steve Raddick. Okay, so we need a revision on
- 2:13Speaker 6: our commissioner's court. We've had to put up with Lena
- 2:16Speaker 6: Hidalgo and all her absentees. Absent times, she's Checked out
- 2:23Speaker 6: to go get therapy for her mental illness, which she's
- 2:26Speaker 6: very proud of.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Apparently.
- 2:28Speaker 6: And now we're having to put up with Leslie Breonna's.
- 2:31Speaker 6: And we don't need these women, Democrat women in there.
- 2:35Speaker 6: And it just, it really puts me in a state
- 2:38Speaker 6: of fear that we might get, that we're having to
- 2:41Speaker 6: run against Letitia Plummer.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 2:44Speaker 6: Oh my gosh. I've been in an argument with my
- 2:46Speaker 6: neighbors about her. And they're accusing me of, oh, you
- 2:49Speaker 6: just hate women. Oh, you're just racist, that kind of stuff.
- 2:54Speaker 6: So what I'm saying is we need to get real
- 2:57Speaker 6: information out there. And one thing that we need to
- 3:00Speaker 6: do is have an independent audit of Harris County.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that'd be amazing. Here, Sharon, let me jump in
- 3:07Speaker 3: for a second. I agree with you wholeheartedly.
- 3:10Speaker 4: So we have an offer out to Orlando Sanchez to
- 3:12Speaker 4: be on the show, and I think that's going to
- 3:13Speaker 4: work out because we know him.
- 3:15Speaker 3: So I think he'll be on the show soon.
- 3:16Speaker 4: I'll also get Tom Ramsey, because Wayne was talking about
- 3:19Speaker 4: Tom today, and we know Tom, too, a little bit.
- 3:22Speaker 4: So we'll get him on the show to talk again
- 3:24Speaker 4: about some of what's going on. Property taxes, I think,
- 3:27Speaker 4: in the way that they're trying to sneak in, an
- 3:29Speaker 4: incredible jump there. And even, not that anything ever is
- 3:34Speaker 4: something that I typically agree on with Lena Hidalgo, but
- 3:37Speaker 4: even she seemed to pump the brakes on part of
- 3:40Speaker 4: those property tax hikes, which I know that the Amigos
- 3:43Speaker 4: talked about a lot on Friday.
- 3:44Speaker 3: But so I promise.
- 3:45Speaker 4: that we'll actually hear from a couple of those local
- 3:48Speaker 4: voices on many of these issues, because you're right.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 3:54Speaker 6: What I want to say is, Lena Hidalgo is a nutcase,
- 3:58Speaker 6: and everybody knows it.
- 3:59Speaker 8: She is.
- 4:00Speaker 6: And I don't even want to hear her name again,
- 4:01Speaker 6: but what I want to hear is information on Letitia Plummer.
- 4:07Speaker 6: She is a black Muslim, and she would be ten
- 4:11Speaker 6: times worse than Lena Hidalgo.
- 4:14Speaker 9: Yes.
- 4:14Speaker 6: And of course, we need to, we've got Rodney Ellis
- 4:17Speaker 6: on there who's actually running the whole court now. And
- 4:20Speaker 6: you're right, they've redistricted and they've knocked one of our
- 4:23Speaker 6: Republicans off. So we need to get more Republicans on
- 4:27Speaker 6: the court. We need to get the information out there.
- 4:29Speaker 8: Yes.
- 4:30Speaker 6: And independent audit.
- 4:32Speaker 8: Is just a logical thing.
- 4:34Speaker 3: I appreciate it a lot.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Here, Sharon, I got to go because I do have
- 4:38Speaker 4: audio that I want to play. But I appreciate the
- 4:40Speaker 4: comments a lot and the desire to get some of
- 4:42Speaker 4: those local discussions happening here on the morning show.
- 4:46Speaker 3: And I think the best way to do that, I've
- 4:47Speaker 3: always thought the best way to.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Do that within my career in radio is to get
- 4:52Speaker 4: the voices themselves on. And I know State Senator Paul
- 4:55Speaker 4: Bettencourt is helping us get some of those names on
- 4:59Speaker 4: the show, which definitely will be happening over the next
- 5:02Speaker 4: couple weeks.
- 5:03Speaker 3: And I'll be honest about one other thing.
- 5:04Speaker 4: It's a little odd with Wayne and I in different
- 5:07Speaker 4: places coordinating those interviews and even more so candidly, We
- 5:11Speaker 4: don't have a great system set up for him to
- 5:13Speaker 4: hear the radio stuff that's not my microphone.
- 5:17Speaker 3: We do have a system.
- 5:18Speaker 4: If you've been listening to the show in the first
- 5:20Speaker 4: couple of weeks and Wayne was joking off air that
- 5:22Speaker 4: we should ask Chuck on air, our engineer, to come
- 5:25Speaker 4: help us because we do need his help. But we
- 5:28Speaker 4: need to find a better way to feed audio directly
- 5:30Speaker 4: to Wayne. And I have some ideas, but we're going
- 5:33Speaker 4: to need a little bit of technical expertise to get
- 5:35Speaker 4: that done. And that's probably another reason that we've been
- 5:39Speaker 4: dragging our feet a bit on some phone guests. Even
- 5:41Speaker 4: though we have taken some, we're not taking as many
- 5:43Speaker 4: as we'd normally take because our technology isn't as set
- 5:47Speaker 4: up as it should be to make that 100% reliable.
- 5:51Speaker 3: But it should be soon.
- 5:52Speaker 4: We should be able to climb that hill in the
- 5:55Speaker 4: very near future. And like I said, we do have
- 5:57Speaker 4: an interview offer out to Orlando Sanchez specifically, and I'm
- 6:01Speaker 4: certain he's going to say yes and come on the show.
- 6:04Speaker 3: And we'll see who else we wind up getting.
- 6:06Speaker 4: I do want to play two things that are hidden
- 6:08Speaker 4: camera viral pieces of audio. that connect to James Tallarico.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Both of these things I think are fascinating. Town Hall
- 6:17Speaker 4: put out one of them. Town Hall is our news partner.
- 6:20Speaker 4: And then actually Amuse, who does a show with Chris
- 6:23Speaker 4: Salcedo on the internet, I think every Wednesday that happens.
- 6:27Speaker 3: So that might've been yesterday.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Amuse also made another one of these two clips very popular,
- 6:32Speaker 4: but both of them are incredibly damaging. And no, are
- 6:36Speaker 4: either of the clips actually of Tallarico?
- 6:38Speaker 3: No, they aren't.
- 6:39Speaker 4: But they are of people who know him and know
- 6:41Speaker 4: him pretty well, and one actually works for his campaign.
- 6:44Speaker 4: So I think the second clip I'm going to play
- 6:46Speaker 4: is much more closely tied to the reality of what
- 6:49Speaker 4: the Tallarico campaign is doing. But I find this audio
- 6:54Speaker 4: someone got of his reverend, Tallarico's minister, Babs Miller, talking,
- 7:00Speaker 4: she thinks, with a friendly person. And what's amazing about Texas,
- 7:04Speaker 4: if you don't know this, is it's a single-party state.
- 7:07Speaker 4: meaning that only one of two people that records a
- 7:09Speaker 4: conversation needs to be aware it's being recorded. There's a
- 7:13Speaker 4: lot of states like Illinois that are two-party consent states,
- 7:17Speaker 4: which prevents you from doing a secret recording of whatever
- 7:21Speaker 4: it is you're talking about to whoever you're talking to
- 7:24Speaker 4: because they're not informed of it. They have to be
- 7:26Speaker 4: as aware of you that you're recording this. Texas, not
- 7:29Speaker 4: so much, which I think is amazing. But here, I
- 7:32Speaker 4: want to play this audio first. This is Babs Miller,
- 7:35Speaker 4: his minister in Austin, talking to someone that she thinks
- 7:39Speaker 4: is friendly, a Democratic, you know, representative person who's a
- 7:43Speaker 4: member of the church now, about the strategy Tallarico has
- 7:47Speaker 4: for flip-flopping on some ideas only for a short amount
- 7:50Speaker 4: of time. People are attacking Tallarico for saying that God
- 7:55Speaker 4: is non-binary.
- 7:57Speaker 10: That's literally what he is.
- 8:01Speaker 4: He went on Fox News and, like, walked that back.
- 8:04Speaker 5: Did you see that?
- 8:07Speaker 11: Yeah, he's giving some.
- 8:11Speaker 12: Advice that I don't think he should be following.
- 8:14Speaker 13: Yeah, because that's why, that's frankly something that attracted me
- 8:18Speaker 13: to this church.
- 8:21Speaker 12: And I can guarantee you that once he gets elected,
- 8:24Speaker 12: he'll change his tune back to where he was.
- 8:27Speaker 4: But he has to kind of play this game.
- 8:28Speaker 12: Yes, that's what his campaign has convinced him of, is
- 8:32Speaker 12: that the Democratic Party is backing off. on their stances
- 8:37Speaker 12: on trans and all of this. And so his staff
- 8:43Speaker 12: is encouraging him to kind of do the same thing
- 8:46Speaker 12: just for the next 50 weeks.
- 8:49Speaker 4: And then he'll change. I think it's amazing, again, that
- 8:52Speaker 4: you're hearing this. And this is the pastor at St.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Andrew's Presbyterian Church, the home church of James Tallarico, and
- 9:00Speaker 4: things that you've heard Tallarico talk about on stages in
- 9:04Speaker 4: that church as well as others. And I thought it
- 9:07Speaker 4: was incredible that the way the audio starts is the
- 9:10Speaker 4: person who's doing the secret recording saying that God is
- 9:13Speaker 4: non-binary is a fact. And the pastor is like, oh, yeah,
- 9:16Speaker 4: that's a fact. But also Tallarico is getting bad advice
- 9:19Speaker 4: from his campaign, which he's literally just lying about the
- 9:24Speaker 4: things that he says he believes that he suddenly doesn't
- 9:27Speaker 4: believe in order to get people to vote for him.
- 9:30Speaker 4: I know that's to a lot of individuals going to
- 9:33Speaker 4: be secondhand information that you can easily dismiss. It's not
- 9:37Speaker 4: Tallarico himself saying it. Maybe his opinion changed. But I
- 9:40Speaker 4: think people underestimate how close individuals of faith are to
- 9:46Speaker 4: their church, the church that they attend, the pastors that
- 9:49Speaker 4: they hear from. And Tallarico claims to be a person
- 9:53Speaker 4: of great faith, although all the things he says about
- 9:55Speaker 4: faith demonstrate a lot of the opposite to me and
- 9:58Speaker 4: to many other people out there. But nonetheless, I think
- 10:01Speaker 4: out of anybody that you could talk to that's separated
- 10:04Speaker 4: from Tallarico's campaign about the likelihood of how he'll behave
- 10:09Speaker 4: over the next few months and next several years, Babs
- 10:12Speaker 4: is one of the better voices to hear from when
- 10:15Speaker 4: that's going on. And the things she said are exactly
- 10:17Speaker 4: the Well, you and I think exactly what many people think.
- 10:20Speaker 4: And the reason the attacks on Tallarico will ramp up
- 10:23Speaker 4: for the crazy stuff he said in the past is
- 10:25Speaker 4: that they are actually his definitive beliefs.
- 10:28Speaker 3: I also want to play this, though.
- 10:29Speaker 4: This is a representative from the Tallarico campaign talking about
- 10:34Speaker 4: a secret or a shady way in which they're getting
- 10:38Speaker 4: people to vote for Tallarico or they're essentially trying to
- 10:42Speaker 4: buy people's votes. And he describes in detail what it is.
- 10:46Speaker 4: This is fascinating. And again, this person is much more
- 10:49Speaker 4: closely tied to the actual Tallarico campaign.
- 10:52Speaker 8: Here we go.
- 10:53Speaker 14: We are paying people $ 25 to attend a one-hour Zoom
- 11:01Speaker 14: class to learn why voting is important and why the
- 11:04Speaker 14: Republicans are causing all these bad things. Yeah, yeah. So
- 11:10Speaker 14: it's like a roundabout way of paying people for their votes, essentially.
- 11:15Speaker 14: Which is interesting.
- 11:17Speaker 15: What's this called?
- 11:18Speaker 14: It's called the Paid Relational Program. I think Rally Texas
- 11:22Speaker 14: is the official name. You can't pay someone to vote
- 11:26Speaker 14: for someone. You can't be like, here's $ 25, go vote
- 11:28Speaker 14: for me. Of course you can't.
- 11:29Speaker 3: You can say.
- 11:32Speaker 14: Yeah, he would be.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I would be.
- 11:33Speaker 14: We all should be. He said, if I was a Republican,
- 11:36Speaker 14: I would be upset. I would be pissed with this information.
- 12:00Speaker 4: And, of course, because they're literally trying to buy votes now.
- 12:04Speaker 4: That is Sky McAdams, who is part of a super PAC,
- 12:07Speaker 4: the Texas Majority PAC, that is organizing for Tallarico. Insane
- 12:13Speaker 4: to hear him say that in those simple words. Again,
- 12:16Speaker 4: when he thinks he's talking to a friendly and he
- 12:19Speaker 4: does not think a camera is recording him.
- 12:21Speaker 3: They're not hiding the truth, people. It's easy for us
- 12:24Speaker 3: to find it. Quick break. A lot more.

- 13:27Speaker 11: What do we really know about James Tallarico?
- 13:30Speaker 16: Tallarico said defending trans Texas is something we have to
- 13:33Speaker 16: do every day.
- 13:34Speaker 11: Telerico supported using taxpayer dollars for sex change surgeries on
- 13:39Speaker 11: young children, claimed denying your child's gender identity is abusive,
- 13:43Speaker 11: said the trans community needs abortion care too, and even
- 13:47Speaker 11: called Jesus a radical feminist and said God is non-binary.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Defending trans Texas is something we have to do every day.
- 13:55Speaker 15: But it gets worse.
- 13:57Speaker 11: James Tallarico voted to allow biological men access to women's
- 14:00Speaker 11: bathrooms in schools and for biological boys to play in
- 14:04Speaker 11: girls' sports, saying some things are more important than fair
- 14:08Speaker 11: competition in sports.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Defending trans Texas is something we have to do every day.
- 14:13Speaker 11: Radical liberal James Tallarico. For they, them, not you. Texas
- 14:19Speaker 11: PAC is responsible for the content of this advertising.
- 14:21Speaker 8: Paid for by Texas PAC.
- 14:23Speaker 11: Not authorized by any candidate or candidates committee.
- 14:25Speaker 17: TexasPAC.org KSED Radio On The Voice of Texas, my name
- 14:45Speaker 17: is Craig Colonese.
- 14:46Speaker 4: He is Wayne Dolcefino, although he's on special assignment until tomorrow.
- 14:51Speaker 4: And I'll just say it one more time because I
- 14:52Speaker 4: did get a couple messages asking me about it. When
- 14:55Speaker 4: he is here, when Wayne Dolcefino is part of the show,
- 14:58Speaker 4: we will be broadcasting on his Facebook page. And then
- 15:01Speaker 4: actually also on the KSEV Facebook page and my Radio
- 15:05Speaker 4: Craig Facebook page that has like 2,000 followers. So definitely
- 15:09Speaker 4: bigger places you can find it. When he's not here,
- 15:11Speaker 4: we don't broadcast as much on Facebook exactly because it's
- 15:15Speaker 4: weird to be on his page without him. And then
- 15:18Speaker 4: our pages, we do a lot of stuff there already.
- 15:21Speaker 4: So I don't know. But I did get a message
- 15:23Speaker 4: asking me about it. We are on YouTube. We are
- 15:25Speaker 4: on Rumble.
- 15:26Speaker 3: We are on X.
- 15:27Speaker 4: So we are still live streaming on a bunch of
- 15:29Speaker 4: different platforms if you want to go check us out there.
- 15:32Speaker 4: And if enough people want us to, we can continue
- 15:35Speaker 4: to broadcast on KSEV's Facebook page and my Facebook page.
- 15:39Speaker 3: But, yeah.
- 15:40Speaker 4: On Wayne's, it just seems wrong when he's not here.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Although I think he'd probably be cool with it, to
- 15:45Speaker 4: be honest. I might be able to text him and
- 15:47Speaker 4: ask him, but I don't know. I do want to
- 15:49Speaker 4: talk a little bit about Hassan Piker. Hassan Piker is
- 15:52Speaker 4: one of the crazy, insane people on the left who
- 15:55Speaker 4: says the most crazy and insane stuff. He is someone
- 15:59Speaker 4: that has been closely tied to several different political campaigns
- 16:02Speaker 4: on the left, the biggest of which is the one
- 16:05Speaker 4: out of Michigan, El-Said, that he even was kind of
- 16:08Speaker 4: campaigning with him for a while, and someone that now
- 16:11Speaker 4: Saeed is being asked questions about. And the answer is
- 16:14Speaker 4: some Twitch streamer out of California, instead of saying what
- 16:17Speaker 4: Hasan Piker actually is, which is deeply influential to the left.
- 16:21Speaker 4: And I think to a lot of younger voters on
- 16:23Speaker 4: the left, because of the popularity of the things he's on,
- 16:27Speaker 4: like Twitch, again, and the likelihood demographically that a lot
- 16:32Speaker 4: of people of a certain age are the ones who
- 16:34Speaker 4: go to those pages to watch things. Now, I want
- 16:36Speaker 4: to say one other thing. because I'm kind of setting
- 16:38Speaker 4: up a topic, and I usually like to play audio.
- 16:41Speaker 4: I don't want to play audio of Hasan Piker. I
- 16:44Speaker 4: really dislike the person and the rhetoric and the insanity.
- 16:48Speaker 4: But I do want to tell you about something he
- 16:50Speaker 4: said recently that you can go find yourself, and I
- 16:53Speaker 4: want to discuss it. He claimed that the United States
- 16:56Speaker 4: of America is worse than al-Qaeda. He said those words
- 17:00Speaker 4: in an Axios interview that he did. He said that
- 17:03Speaker 4: we've caused more terror around the world than than actual
- 17:07Speaker 4: terrorist organizations have. Now, here's what's really important to that
- 17:12Speaker 4: position and my feeling about someone who says stuff like that.
- 17:17Speaker 4: He is not alone in believing it. That's the first part,
- 17:21Speaker 4: is that there's a lot of other individuals who will
- 17:24Speaker 4: simply say in a very black and white sort of
- 17:29Speaker 4: description that the United States is a bad country when
- 17:33Speaker 4: you look at what we've done throughout the rest of
- 17:35Speaker 4: the world.
- 17:35Speaker 3: They'll just simplistically say that.
- 17:36Speaker 4: They'll say that I don't even need to have an
- 17:39Speaker 4: in-depth understanding of which action I'm talking about, the reasoning
- 17:44Speaker 4: for the action back home, any of that. I will
- 17:46Speaker 4: just tell you, and this is not my opinion, absolutely
- 17:51Speaker 4: not my opinion, but a lot of people will say
- 17:53Speaker 4: that they believe that America just behaves badly, that they
- 17:56Speaker 4: behave in a damaging way to the rest of the world.
- 18:00Speaker 3: That is ridiculous.
- 18:02Speaker 4: And the biggest reason that that is ridiculous to me
- 18:05Speaker 4: And this is the easiest way for you to decide
- 18:07Speaker 4: for yourself that it's simply not true, that there may
- 18:11Speaker 4: be things that we've done that we're not proud of,
- 18:13Speaker 4: the United States of America. I'm not saying that we're angels,
- 18:16Speaker 4: that we behave perfectly. There are some times that you
- 18:19Speaker 4: do things in the interest of your country that may
- 18:21Speaker 4: not benefit the people you're doing them to. Case in point,
- 18:25Speaker 4: the war going on right now in Iran and the
- 18:29Speaker 4: reasons to fight that war. But nonetheless, the way that
- 18:32Speaker 4: I disprove or at least attempt to disprove the The simplistically, overly,
- 18:39Speaker 4: you know, uncomplicated view, intentionally overly uncomplicated view of someone
- 18:44Speaker 4: like it's on Piker is to encourage people to get
- 18:46Speaker 4: to know veterans themselves, get to know the military men
- 18:49Speaker 4: and women who represent this country. Because the thing that
- 18:52Speaker 4: we're claiming and the thing that Hassan Piker is claiming
- 18:56Speaker 4: is that we send our military into situations where they
- 18:59Speaker 4: do horrific things. And that is simply not true. And
- 19:03Speaker 4: I know that that's not true because I know the
- 19:05Speaker 4: men and women, a lot of the men and women
- 19:07Speaker 4: who've served this country through the veteran voices segment I've
- 19:10Speaker 4: been doing for years now on different radio stations. I
- 19:13Speaker 4: interview a veteran. I have a veteran coming up tomorrow
- 19:17Speaker 4: that I really like. Daryl Centeni will be on this show.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Wrote a book, really great book. But anyway, I've met
- 19:23Speaker 4: a tremendous amount of veterans and I intend to keep
- 19:25Speaker 4: doing that. We do this segment every Friday at 830.
- 19:29Speaker 4: And these individuals simply would not do horrific things that
- 19:33Speaker 4: Hassan Piker accuses them of doing. And so it's that
- 19:36Speaker 4: stages of removal from the belief that you have, from
- 19:39Speaker 4: the thing that you would say, that makes people capable
- 19:42Speaker 4: of believing it too. And I want to be crystal
- 19:45Speaker 4: clear as I say this, because I'm willing to cede
- 19:49Speaker 4: that the United States is not a perfect country that
- 19:52Speaker 4: does perfect, incredible things all the time, because.
- 19:55Speaker 3: It's true that we don't.
- 19:57Speaker 4: But I do think that by and large, the intentions
- 20:00Speaker 4: we have in almost everything we do is going to
- 20:03Speaker 4: be far better than the intentions of Al Qaeda or
- 20:07Speaker 4: any of the terrorist organizations that that try to destroy
- 20:10Speaker 4: us and destroy the world. We have none of the
- 20:13Speaker 4: intentions they have to just do harm. And I know
- 20:16Speaker 4: that because the military men and women who serve this
- 20:18Speaker 4: country simply wouldn't do something, by and large. They would
- 20:22Speaker 4: say no to it if it was just to do
- 20:24Speaker 4: harm for the sake of harm. I see that George
- 20:27Speaker 4: has called in from Tombaugh. I'm sorry I left him
- 20:28Speaker 4: on hold for a little while, too. George, what do
- 20:31Speaker 4: you want to say?
- 20:31Speaker 8: No problem. First, I just want to make a comment
- 20:35Speaker 8: before what you were talking about Texas being a one-party
- 20:38Speaker 8: state as far as with recording. Consent to record. There
- 20:44Speaker 8: are some caveats to that, but one thing I want
- 20:47Speaker 8: to say is that if you're going to record somebody
- 20:50Speaker 8: because you believe something wrong is going on, it's better
- 20:53Speaker 8: to have the recording transcribed. And if you're going to
- 20:58Speaker 8: use that transcription, give the person a copy of the
- 21:01Speaker 8: transcription and So they have the opportunity to try to amend.
- 21:06Speaker 8: And if they amend too much, that's when you break
- 21:08Speaker 8: out the recording as proof. However, even though Texas is
- 21:13Speaker 8: a one-party state, I will tell you from firsthand knowledge
- 21:17Speaker 8: and personal experience, as well as those of my friends,
- 21:20Speaker 8: that rule does not apply to federal employees. You can
- 21:25Speaker 8: be punished if you are caught recording a supervisor And
- 21:30Speaker 8: that is the reason why, and I've brought this up before,
- 21:34Speaker 8: people didn't understand my point. That's the reason why ICE
- 21:38Speaker 8: doesn't wear cameras. It has nothing to do with the
- 21:41Speaker 8: arrest or safety or anything like that. It has to
- 21:44Speaker 8: do with the fact that that officer now can use
- 21:47Speaker 8: that as evidence in an employment issue, and that's the
- 21:50Speaker 8: reason why they don't do it. It has nothing to
- 21:53Speaker 8: do with public safety. It's all about protecting the agency
- 21:56Speaker 8: from the employee.
- 21:58Speaker 11: Sure.
- 21:59Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 22:00Speaker 8: Well, can we can.
- 22:01Speaker 4: We can we specify that a little bit more? Because
- 22:04Speaker 4: I think that there's a little more specificity that matters there.
- 22:08Speaker 4: There's an expectation of privacy that typically gets used, I think,
- 22:13Speaker 4: for federal employees and especially, as you said, someone under
- 22:16Speaker 4: someone else. So a federal employee working for their boss
- 22:20Speaker 4: where that expectation of privacy is used as the real
- 22:23Speaker 4: reason that you can't record.
- 22:25Speaker 3: And that's an argument people make in courtrooms. all the time,
- 22:29Speaker 3: and they do succeed. But yeah, go ahead.
- 22:32Speaker 8: That doesn't really apply, and here's the reason why. When
- 22:35Speaker 8: you're a public official, and this is, you know, throughout,
- 22:40Speaker 8: you don't have the expectation of privacy.
- 22:43Speaker 3: You're not supposed to.
- 22:44Speaker 8: Because you're a public official acting in, allegedly, or supposed
- 22:49Speaker 8: to be for the benefit of society as a whole.
- 22:53Speaker 8: But the problem is, for example, it conflicts with whistleblower
- 22:58Speaker 8: protection laws.
- 23:00Speaker 9: Right.
- 23:00Speaker 8: You know, an outsider can show a video of, let's say,
- 23:05Speaker 8: a potentially less than legal act. But if the employee
- 23:09Speaker 8: shows it, then that's different. And they're expected to go
- 23:12Speaker 8: through internal affairs venues, which will then target the employee
- 23:18Speaker 8: for reporting.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Yes.
- 23:22Speaker 8: And I know several people that I've been punished for
- 23:26Speaker 8: that to include myself.
- 23:28Speaker 9: Yes.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Yeah, fair enough. Well, and also, I will say one
- 23:31Speaker 3: other caveat to it.
- 23:32Speaker 4: If you're recording someone that's from a different state, like
- 23:36Speaker 4: California or Florida, there's ways for them to use federal
- 23:39Speaker 4: law and also their state law to try to go
- 23:42Speaker 4: after you, even if it occurs here in Texas.
- 23:43Speaker 3: But a lot of that, again, is federal employee-level stuff.
- 23:47Speaker 4: By and large, Texas is a one-party consent state where
- 23:51Speaker 4: if I go into a room, I can record something
- 23:53Speaker 4: if I know I'm recording. But there are caveats. I
- 23:56Speaker 4: agree with you that there are. And people have been
- 23:58Speaker 4: punished for that. What else did you want to talk about?
- 24:01Speaker 3: Was that it?
- 24:01Speaker 8: Yeah, no, it's about it. I know the point, but
- 24:05Speaker 8: it's distracting too much from the conversation this morning. Again,
- 24:09Speaker 8: thank you for taking my call. Thank you to Russell.
- 24:12Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 24:12Speaker 8: Let me hang up and listen.
- 24:14Speaker 15: OK.
- 24:15Speaker 8: All right.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Thank you very much, George, for calling in and being
- 24:17Speaker 3: a part of the show. I kind of am curious
- 24:18Speaker 3: what his other point was that he said distracted too much.
- 24:20Speaker 3: I kind of want to know what it was, George.
- 24:23Speaker 3: I know he has my Facebook information.
- 24:25Speaker 4: He can send me a message there, too, and maybe
- 24:27Speaker 4: I'll talk about it in the next break, whatever the
- 24:28Speaker 4: topic was. But I do, to go back to it,
- 24:32Speaker 4: regardless of some of the legalities that get people in
- 24:35Speaker 4: trouble when you're confident you can record and then someone
- 24:38Speaker 4: tries to tell you you can't, by and large, I'm very,
- 24:40Speaker 4: very happy that Texas is the way it is because
- 24:42Speaker 4: of those two pieces of audio I played earlier. that
- 24:45Speaker 4: show people that know Tallarico are people that are working
- 24:48Speaker 4: for PACs that are benefiting Tallarico, who are saying the
- 24:51Speaker 4: stuff you and I think is true that Tallarico is
- 24:54Speaker 4: trying to claim is false, that he's a shady liar
- 24:57Speaker 4: of a person, and that you and I do not
- 25:00Speaker 4: agree with the vast majority of the things he believes,
- 25:03Speaker 4: so we simply can't elect him as our next senator.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Quick break, a lot more. KSV Radio, The Voice of Texas.

- 26:12Speaker 11: When it comes to garage doors, no one knows more
- 26:15Speaker 11: than the doctor.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Garage Door Doctor.
- 26:18Speaker 15: Hi, I'm Tommy Milo, CEO of Garage Door Doctor. Here's
- 26:23Speaker 15: a question for you. When was the last time you
- 26:25Speaker 15: thought about your garage door? Most people never do. The
- 26:28Speaker 15: problem is that your garage door may be the hardest
- 26:30Speaker 15: working appliance in your home. It opens and closes thousands
- 26:33Speaker 15: of times every year, lifting hundreds of pounds each and
- 26:37Speaker 15: every time. You change the oil in your car. You
- 26:40Speaker 15: service your air conditioner. Your garage door deserves the same attention.
- 26:44Speaker 15: A simple tune-up catches worn parts before they fail. A
- 26:47Speaker 15: tune-up keeps everything running quietly and can add years of
- 26:50Speaker 15: life to your system. And that's why preventative maintenance is
- 26:53Speaker 15: one of the smartest investments you can make for your
- 26:56Speaker 15: garage door. Garage doors usually warn you before they break.
- 26:59Speaker 15: We're here to help before that happens. Call today for
- 27:02Speaker 15: our $ 29. 95 tune-up special. From repairs to upgrades, call Garage
- 27:06Speaker 15: Door Doctor today.
- 27:08Speaker 14: Garage Door Doctor.
- 27:12Speaker 3: And now for the bonus round. Who imposes property taxes?
- 27:17Speaker 2: State government.
- 27:19Speaker 16: Nice try, but no.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Local governments.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Correct.
- 27:23Speaker 16: And we have a winner.
- 27:25Speaker 19: Here's Governor Greg Abbott on his plan to control property taxes.
- 27:29Speaker 9: The state of Texas does not impose a property tax.
- 27:32Speaker 9: Only local governments impose property taxes. One of the reasons
- 27:36Speaker 9: why your property taxes are going up is because local
- 27:39Speaker 9: governments are increasing their spending. So the first thing we
- 27:43Speaker 9: got to do is to stop the spending that leads.
- 27:46Speaker 3: To property tax increases.
- 27:48Speaker 9: You should have a say on whether or not your
- 27:50Speaker 9: property taxes go up. It should be a vote that
- 27:53Speaker 9: requires two-thirds vote before any property tax increase can ever
- 27:57Speaker 9: be imposed on our fellow Texans.
- 27:59Speaker 3: You're going to be.
- 28:00Speaker 9: Able to live in your home for the rest of
- 28:02Speaker 9: your lives without being priced out of it.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Protecting homeowners, lowering property taxes.
- 28:07Speaker 19: That's Governor Greg Abbott.
- 28:09Speaker 9: Political ad paid for by Texans for Greg Abbott.
- 28:12Speaker 19: Tune in each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. for On
- 28:15Speaker 19: the Money with your host and CEO of Allied Wealth Texas,

- 28:21Speaker 19: possible during your retirement years. That's each Sunday at 9 a.m.
- 28:25Speaker 19: right here on AM700 KSEV.
- 28:27Speaker 20: From the KSEV Weather Center, today we'll bring partly sunny
- 28:30Speaker 20: skies with high humidity and scattered thunderstorms. The temperature will
- 28:34Speaker 20: reach a high of 91. Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies
- 28:37Speaker 20: and continued humidity with a low of 74. Tomorrow will
- 28:40Speaker 20: be mostly sunny and less humid with a high of 94.
- 28:43Speaker 20: By Saturday, it will be mostly sunny and very warm
- 28:45Speaker 20: with a high of 95. Sunday will also be mostly
- 28:48Speaker 20: sunny and very warm with a chance of a thunderstorm
- 28:50Speaker 20: in a few areas in the afternoon and a high
- 28:52Speaker 20: of 94. With the KSCV Weather Center forecast, I'm AccuWeather
- 28:56Speaker 20: meteorologist Joe Lundberg.
- 29:12Speaker 4: This is KSEV Radio, 700 AM, The Voice of Texas.
- 29:18Speaker 4: My name is Craig Colonnades. Wayne Dolcefino is on special assignment.
- 29:22Speaker 4: And we call ourselves the Mob Guys. And we're pretty
- 29:24Speaker 4: happy to do that, actually, on the show. But we're
- 29:26Speaker 4: not actually mobsters. We don't do mobster things the way
- 29:29Speaker 4: that we probably should to call ourselves the mob guys.
- 29:32Speaker 4: But there's a bunch of people in Houston who do.
- 29:35Speaker 4: So I can talk about other people that basically seem
- 29:37Speaker 4: to be mobsters. I thought this was really interesting. The
- 29:41Speaker 4: president of the Islamic Society of Greater Houston in a,
- 29:45Speaker 4: I think, like press conference that they did yesterday that
- 29:48Speaker 4: the Houston Chronicle decided to cover. And of course, covered
- 29:52Speaker 4: in the Houston Chronicle or comical way that they do.
- 29:56Speaker 4: But anyway, the president of the Islamic Society of Greater
- 29:58Speaker 4: Houston said that that they are registering 1,000 voters a
- 30:01Speaker 4: week here in Texas. And they're doing it because they
- 30:05Speaker 4: think that certain politicians, Texas officials, have become hostile, quote,
- 30:10Speaker 4: to Muslims. Now, what's really fascinating to me about a
- 30:14Speaker 4: discussion about this topic is how many people within that
- 30:18Speaker 4: group of individuals who did their press conference yesterday kind
- 30:22Speaker 4: of hate America. If you ask them certain questions about America,
- 30:26Speaker 4: about the things we do and the things that they
- 30:28Speaker 4: think we don't do correctly, there's a lot of people
- 30:32Speaker 4: that simply do not like us. And I think there
- 30:34Speaker 4: also is a video that went viral of a teacher
- 30:37Speaker 4: in school who happens to be an Islamic individual who's
- 30:42Speaker 4: preaching certain things to students that you and I probably
- 30:45Speaker 4: wouldn't want the students to be told as far as
- 30:48Speaker 4: the disparity in our society or the things that she
- 30:51Speaker 4: thinks are are happening that are unfair to her or
- 30:54Speaker 4: to people like her. And I guess what I'm really
- 30:58Speaker 4: trying to say and the point I'm trying to make,
- 31:00Speaker 4: because I've dealt with this a lot when talking to
- 31:04Speaker 4: people about what makes them mad, because I kind of
- 31:07Speaker 4: think that if you're ever going to have a conversation
- 31:10Speaker 4: with someone, especially someone you disagree with on any sort
- 31:13Speaker 4: of big and important issue, that what actually gets to
- 31:16Speaker 4: the heart of what motivates them, what causes them to
- 31:19Speaker 4: vote the way that they do or advocate for the
- 31:22Speaker 4: things that they advocate for is some level of pain
- 31:25Speaker 4: or anger that they have themselves. It might be about
- 31:28Speaker 4: the thing that you're talking about. They might be a
- 31:31Speaker 4: part of whatever group they think is being treated unfairly,
- 31:35Speaker 4: and they very well might not be. But the first
- 31:37Speaker 4: thing you ask them about is like, what's what makes
- 31:39Speaker 4: you mad? What are the things in society that you
- 31:42Speaker 4: see that make you angry? And by and large, you
- 31:44Speaker 4: get certain answers from people, especially people, I think, within
- 31:48Speaker 4: the Islamic Society of Greater Houston. that really disparage and
- 31:53Speaker 4: tear down what America is supposed to be. You get
- 31:57Speaker 4: a lot of negativity in that place. And so when
- 32:00Speaker 4: I'm someone who says that I don't like certain things
- 32:03Speaker 4: happening or I don't like this behavior, that behavior, the
- 32:06Speaker 4: growth in this place, I'm not trying to tell you
- 32:09Speaker 4: that I dislike people just because of who they are,
- 32:12Speaker 4: because of what faith they have, because of what they
- 32:14Speaker 4: believe in. I dislike the opinions people have of this
- 32:18Speaker 4: country And what they will try to do if they
- 32:21Speaker 4: wield an undue amount of influence in whatever capacity they
- 32:24Speaker 4: can gain that in, whether that is registering a thousand
- 32:27Speaker 4: voters a week and then telling them what to vote
- 32:29Speaker 4: for or vote on. There's certain things in our society
- 32:33Speaker 4: that are motivated entirely by anger and fear. And when
- 32:38Speaker 4: you're motivated by that, I think you behave a way
- 32:40Speaker 4: that harms a lot of other people and you simply
- 32:42Speaker 4: don't care. Like I've dealt with that and even like
- 32:45Speaker 4: a personal level. And I'm sure you have, too. Someone
- 32:48Speaker 4: who's motivated by some level of anger or fear or
- 32:51Speaker 4: a collection of both that behaves a way that confuses
- 32:54Speaker 4: the hell out of you. That you like scratch your
- 32:55Speaker 4: head and you go, why did that just happen? Or
- 32:57Speaker 4: why does this occur? And the reason is a mixture
- 33:00Speaker 4: of those things. And if the person takes a step
- 33:02Speaker 4: back and reflects on what they're feeling and not what's
- 33:06Speaker 4: actually happening, by and large, you can find a way
- 33:09Speaker 4: to make things better, I think.
- 33:11Speaker 3: And as I said, I've dealt with that before.
- 33:13Speaker 4: I'm guessing other people have dealt with that before in
- 33:16Speaker 4: some capacity in your own life. And I think that
- 33:18Speaker 4: that's the goal. And if I'm being, you know, if
- 33:22Speaker 4: I'm talking a little bit for Wayne and I, because
- 33:24Speaker 4: Wayne and I have had a lot of conversations off
- 33:26Speaker 4: air about messaging, about Republican specific messaging, conservative messaging, and
- 33:31Speaker 4: how people change it. And I think weaponize it on
- 33:35Speaker 4: the left to act as though someone who is concerned
- 33:38Speaker 4: about people that dislike America, trying to encourage other people
- 33:41Speaker 4: to vote in ways that might hurt America, that that's
- 33:44Speaker 4: the same as racism or sexism or, or being Islamophobic,
- 33:49Speaker 4: or whatever you want to say that someone is, and
- 33:51Speaker 4: it's simply not. To be honest, my belief is that
- 33:55Speaker 4: a lot of these conversations are not.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Had because people successfully.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Silence you, and they successfully silence you by claiming or
- 34:02Speaker 4: intimidating you into believing you're something that you're not. If
- 34:05Speaker 4: you say, and I like what Wayne's been joking about
- 34:09Speaker 4: this week, certain things about groups of people, I think
- 34:12Speaker 4: Wayne has made jokes about women and how they shouldn't
- 34:15Speaker 4: be on juries, And he'd said that mostly because of
- 34:19Speaker 4: one specific case where Lindsay Clancy somehow was potentially going
- 34:22Speaker 4: to be found innocent of murdering her children. And she
- 34:26Speaker 4: was making a claim about a temporary insanity due to
- 34:29Speaker 4: postpartum depression. And that became a very men versus women
- 34:34Speaker 4: discussion that it shouldn't have been about. It should much
- 34:36Speaker 4: more simplistically be about a woman who brutally killed her
- 34:40Speaker 4: kids and that that's not allowed, that that's got to
- 34:42Speaker 4: be something we see as illegal. But nonetheless, and I
- 34:45Speaker 4: know that Rush Limbaugh used to talk about this all
- 34:47Speaker 4: the time too, there's so many attempts to divide us
- 34:51Speaker 4: in society because they don't like what people on the
- 34:55Speaker 4: right are saying logically. They don't like this opinion or
- 35:00Speaker 4: that opinion and what it's based in.
- 35:02Speaker 3: And so instead of actually arguing the thought.
- 35:04Speaker 4: They need to argue the racism or the sexism or
- 35:08Speaker 4: some sort of emotional thing to push you further away.
- 35:10Speaker 4: So again, to get back to Houston, just to kind
- 35:13Speaker 4: of wrap this conversation in a nutshell, and I'm not
- 35:15Speaker 4: going to play the press conference, just because it's actually
- 35:18Speaker 4: kind of hard to find it.
- 35:19Speaker 3: I found pieces of it, but I don't know. You
- 35:22Speaker 3: get the gist.
- 35:23Speaker 4: But when you have a group of individuals bragging about
- 35:26Speaker 4: getting people to vote and saying that they're persecuted, that
- 35:31Speaker 4: they're treated unfairly, that American society doesn't like them or
- 35:35Speaker 4: doesn't like something about them, you know the thing they're
- 35:38Speaker 4: motivated to do is not do something that's better for
- 35:42Speaker 4: all of us. They're not going to improve society for
- 35:45Speaker 4: the rest of us if they're angry at everybody except
- 35:48Speaker 4: their group. They're going to try to do something that
- 35:51Speaker 4: might disproportionately benefit them and no one else, and we
- 35:54Speaker 4: should be worried about that stuff. We should be worried
- 35:57Speaker 4: about the teachers in classrooms who are motivated by anger
- 36:02Speaker 4: and fear into saying and doing things that try to
- 36:05Speaker 4: shape the opinions of young people to also be angry
- 36:08Speaker 4: and fearful of people they shouldn't be angry and fearful of.
- 36:13Speaker 4: It's a never-ending cycle. I think, to me, and I
- 36:15Speaker 4: see it so often. And actually, I'll say this last
- 36:19Speaker 4: thing about this idea and then I'll.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Take a break.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Because I really think this kind of, at least to me,
- 36:24Speaker 4: is a really good simplistic example of the conversation itself.
- 36:29Speaker 4: And I've referenced her before, but my college roommate's mom
- 36:35Speaker 4: was the sweetest, nicest person to us when we were
- 36:37Speaker 4: 20-somethings in college. Like, she'd come over with cookies all
- 36:41Speaker 4: the time. She probably was a helicopter parent. meaning she
- 36:44Speaker 4: visited her son a little more than the rest of
- 36:47Speaker 4: the parents did. She seemed like she was, I think
- 36:50Speaker 4: it was an empty nest thing, too. That was the
- 36:52Speaker 4: second of her two children, the younger of her two.
- 36:54Speaker 4: He was off at school now, so she had no
- 36:56Speaker 4: kids at home. And I felt for her.
- 36:59Speaker 3: A lot of us did.
- 37:00Speaker 4: Like 20-somethings, you could feel that there was a loneliness there,
- 37:04Speaker 4: and there was a reason that she was so involved
- 37:06Speaker 4: in her son's life while he was off at college.
- 37:09Speaker 4: And again, very nice, very sweet person. Over the last five, six,
- 37:12Speaker 4: seven years... because I'm still friends with her on social media,
- 37:16Speaker 4: I've watched her viciously attack, and via words, not actual
- 37:21Speaker 4: physical attack, because that wouldn't really work out. She's not
- 37:24Speaker 4: a woman who'd do well in a fight with anybody.
- 37:26Speaker 4: But anyway, the idea of anyone voting on the right,
- 37:29Speaker 4: she says all kinds of crazy, ridiculous stuff that you
- 37:33Speaker 4: hear on the far left about not just Trump, but
- 37:36Speaker 4: even supporters of Trump, and gets so angry at so
- 37:39Speaker 4: many of these things.
- 37:41Speaker 3: And I find it fascinating. And she must not pay attention.
- 37:43Speaker 4: To what I'm actually doing professionally, because I imagine she
- 37:46Speaker 4: would have stopped being friends with me a long time ago.
- 37:48Speaker 4: But I just think that that's important to remember. And
- 37:52Speaker 4: it's something I remind myself of a lot, even when
- 37:55Speaker 4: I see the Hasan Pikers of the world say the crazy,
- 37:58Speaker 4: insane thing.
- 37:59Speaker 3: And I have to fight.
- 38:01Speaker 4: I have to stand up against the crazy, insane stuff
- 38:03Speaker 4: that they say, because it's crazy and insane. But I do,
- 38:07Speaker 4: in the back of my brain, think about the humanity
- 38:09Speaker 4: of the person. and how they are still reachable. So
- 38:12Speaker 4: I guess the point I'm trying to make, to wrap
- 38:14Speaker 4: this in a circle finally, if we're actually doing that,
- 38:18Speaker 4: is I still think a lot of individuals on the left,
- 38:21Speaker 4: a lot of people maybe not in the far fringes
- 38:24Speaker 4: of that party, can be reached by certain messages. And
- 38:27Speaker 4: I know Wayne believes that too. And so part of
- 38:30Speaker 4: the thing you try to do is recreate your talking points,
- 38:35Speaker 4: recreate the message that you're pitching to the American people
- 38:38Speaker 4: to make sure that it's less easy for the left
- 38:42Speaker 4: to turn it into something else. Now, I know a
- 38:45Speaker 4: lot of people would say that that's placating the left.
- 38:47Speaker 4: That's changing the way that you behave or the things
- 38:49Speaker 4: that you say.
- 38:50Speaker 3: And it's bad.
- 38:51Speaker 4: You can never, you know, bend a knee to the
- 38:54Speaker 4: people in society who are demanding that you change. And
- 38:57Speaker 4: I agree with that. I want to be absolutely crystal clear.
- 39:00Speaker 4: I believe that you should never bend a knee. But
- 39:02Speaker 4: if you can massage your message so that someone will
- 39:06Speaker 4: hear more of it before they're convinced by someone else
- 39:09Speaker 4: they need to plug their ears and tune out, you
- 39:12Speaker 4: are getting closer to what I believe to be the
- 39:15Speaker 4: truth in our society, that we agree on a lot
- 39:17Speaker 4: more stuff than we disagree on if we're willing to
- 39:20Speaker 4: have the conversation. And the person that I didn't know,
- 39:25Speaker 4: but I've paid attention enough to now to believe that
- 39:28Speaker 4: he believed it.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Too, was Charlie Kerr.
- 39:30Speaker 4: Tragically, horrifically, Charlie Kirk was killed by a far leftist
- 39:33Speaker 4: that demonstrates there are dangerous people in our society, that
- 39:36Speaker 4: it's not kumbaya, that everyone, in fact, is not an amazing,
- 39:40Speaker 4: incredible person. But by and large, there's a lot of
- 39:42Speaker 4: people who are still reachable, who I think right now
- 39:46Speaker 4: might be polarized to believe that Tallarico is a better
- 39:49Speaker 4: candidate than Paxton, and they're being manipulated. And I'd like
- 39:54Speaker 4: to try to find a better way to convince them
- 39:56Speaker 4: to come back to sanity. All right, we've got to
- 39:58Speaker 4: take a break. After the break, we'll close out the
- 40:00Speaker 4: show with some lighter stuff. I do have some silly
- 40:04Speaker 4: things that I like to get to from time to time,
- 40:06Speaker 4: so we will do that at the end. But this
- 40:08Speaker 4: is The Mob, guys. The Voice of Texas, KSCV, 700 a.m.
- 40:11Speaker 3: More after this.

- 42:10Speaker 20: AM 700, KSEV, Tomball, Houston, and streaming online at ksevradio.com,
- 42:17Speaker 20: the voice of Texas.
- 42:29Speaker 4: AM 700. KSEV, it is the voice of Texas. Thrilled
- 42:33Speaker 4: to be with you. My name is Craig Colonese. Wayne
- 42:36Speaker 4: Dolcefino is on special assignment. Should be back tomorrow. And
- 42:39Speaker 4: I actually just heard, I just heard, excuse me, from
- 42:42Speaker 4: Orlando Sanchez's team, and they will be on the show.
- 42:45Speaker 4: Orlando will be on the show in the near future,
- 42:47Speaker 4: which is awesome. You throw that out there on air,
- 42:50Speaker 4: and it's like, yeah, sure, we'll do it. We'll get
- 42:52Speaker 4: it done. And he'll be on to talk about a
- 42:55Speaker 4: bunch of the things that matter to you and me
- 42:57Speaker 4: and reasons why he absolutely should be the person that
- 43:01Speaker 4: replaces Lena Hidalgo, not someone crazy and insane, which is
- 43:05Speaker 4: what the other option is. But anyway, we'll get to
- 43:07Speaker 4: more of that in a little bit, but I just
- 43:08Speaker 4: thought I'd throw it out there since we saw it.
- 43:11Speaker 4: Some sillier things, some stuff that I thought was interesting.
- 43:15Speaker 4: There is a viral clip of an announcer that's trying
- 43:20Speaker 4: to pronounce certain baseball names and struggling to do it.
- 43:24Speaker 4: A former Iron League baseball player, Francis Grillon, I think
- 43:28Speaker 4: is the guy's name, played a pronunciation game with teammates,
- 43:32Speaker 4: but he has a.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Heavy Dominican accent.
- 43:34Speaker 4: In the clip, he tried to say certain words that
- 43:38Speaker 4: he struggled a lot with and certain names that he
- 43:39Speaker 4: struggled a lot with. And I just enjoyed this. I
- 43:42Speaker 4: just thought this was funny and it went viral. And
- 43:44Speaker 4: part of the reason probably is also my wife. She
- 43:47Speaker 4: speaks fluent English, but she was born and raised in Mexico.
- 43:50Speaker 4: She doesn't have anywhere near the heavy accent that this
- 43:52Speaker 4: guy has, but she does have an accent. And so
- 43:55Speaker 4: sometimes she'll get a little bit in her head about it,
- 43:57Speaker 4: and I'll always play audio of crazier people saying stuff
- 44:01Speaker 4: that makes absolutely no sense.
- 44:03Speaker 3: And this kind of helps her.
- 44:04Speaker 4: So let's think of this cathartically as a thing I'm
- 44:07Speaker 4: doing to also help the missus a little bit. But
- 44:09Speaker 4: this is a guy who's got a way worse accent
- 44:11Speaker 4: than she does.
- 44:12Speaker 19: Intensive.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Mischievous. Extravagant. Vacuum cleaner.
- 44:20Speaker 3: That's a vacuum cleaner.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Flamboyant.
- 44:34Speaker 8: Flamboyant.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Purple velvet shenanigans and squirrel are the last three words there.
- 44:40Speaker 3: I really like that.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Squitter.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Squitter is the squirrel. But anyway, that went very viral.
- 44:47Speaker 3: I know that's just stupid.
- 44:48Speaker 4: I'm going to call it a palate cleanser as far
- 44:50Speaker 4: as stuff goes on this show. But I love listening
- 44:53Speaker 4: sometimes to other people do play-by-play, too, because occasionally you'll
- 44:57Speaker 4: hear things very differently than what you hear here in
- 45:00Speaker 4: the States. And although the excitement level that I hear
- 45:02Speaker 4: other places is pretty attractive, I don't understand the words.
- 45:06Speaker 3: So that's a part of the problem.
- 45:08Speaker 4: Other things out there that I thought were interesting and lighter,
- 45:11Speaker 4: because I don't like to do serious stuff all the time,
- 45:14Speaker 4: if we can help it. College kids are trading in
- 45:16Speaker 4: certain parties. I think on social media they're calling them wellness... darties.
- 45:23Speaker 4: This is daytime parties in which you focus on wellness.
- 45:27Speaker 4: There's no alcohol involved. Instead, it's Pilates, yoga, go for
- 45:31Speaker 4: a run. One of my favorite ones that's in here
- 45:34Speaker 4: is take an ice bath or coffee and matcha afterward
- 45:38Speaker 4: instead of, you know, heavy drinking. This has gone very
- 45:41Speaker 4: viral on social media, specifically on TikTok, where young people
- 45:44Speaker 4: are talking about their wellness darties. And you actually see
- 45:47Speaker 4: a lot of frats and sororities doing this together. which
- 45:51Speaker 4: I remember college days being very different if you hung
- 45:54Speaker 4: out at a frat or sorority.
- 45:56Speaker 3: So I don't know. I just find this fascinating.
- 45:58Speaker 4: University of Miami, University of Florida, Florida State, a bunch
- 46:01Speaker 4: of places are going viral for doing this. It doesn't
- 46:04Speaker 4: necessarily mean that kids aren't also doing the stuff that
- 46:10Speaker 4: previous generations used to do as far as actual partying goes,
- 46:14Speaker 4: but they're broadcasting the part where it seems like it's
- 46:17Speaker 4: something different. And I almost think like they're also doing
- 46:20Speaker 4: that because they know a lot of their parents are
- 46:22Speaker 4: on social media now, too. If you have a kid
- 46:24Speaker 4: that goes off to school and you follow them on
- 46:27Speaker 4: social media and you see a lot of videos of them, like,
- 46:30Speaker 4: you know, doing Pilates at 8 a.m.
- 46:32Speaker 3: On a Saturday, I think part of it's for you.
- 46:35Speaker 4: I think part of the reason they're doing that is
- 46:36Speaker 4: to show you how how great of a job they're
- 46:38Speaker 4: doing and how different stuff is.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Although I do I do believe and I'll.
- 46:42Speaker 4: Say this, that that younger people care more about their
- 46:45Speaker 4: health than past generations did at that age. A lot
- 46:49Speaker 4: of people care about their health now. I'm trying to
- 46:51Speaker 4: care about my health more at 40 than I used
- 46:54Speaker 4: to when I was 20-something. But there are a lot
- 46:57Speaker 4: of people that I talk to. Actually, I'll tell you
- 46:59Speaker 4: this real quick, just because it amused me so much.
- 47:02Speaker 4: We were in Target the other day. My wife and
- 47:05Speaker 4: I were walking down one of the aisles, and there's
- 47:07Speaker 4: this dad and like a little kid.
- 47:09Speaker 3: He was probably like eight or nine, a little boy together.
- 47:12Speaker 4: And the dad was in pretty good shape, so I
- 47:14Speaker 4: imagine it's a family that probably has a lot of
- 47:17Speaker 4: conversations about health and whatnot.
- 47:19Speaker 3: But the kid, again, he's like eight, nine years old.
- 47:22Speaker 3: And I heard him talking about calories.
- 47:25Speaker 4: As I look behind myself, he was looking at some
- 47:28Speaker 4: dessert thing with his dad. And I heard him go, oh,
- 47:30Speaker 4: that one has way too many calories in it, though,
- 47:32Speaker 4: doesn't it? And I almost wanted to turn back and
- 47:35Speaker 4: be like, at nine, bro, you don't need to care.
- 47:37Speaker 4: At nine, it doesn't matter as much as it does later.
- 47:40Speaker 4: And he was not like a big kid or anything.
- 47:42Speaker 4: He was a healthy little kid. So like, I think
- 47:45Speaker 4: you can have the snack if you want to. But
- 47:48Speaker 4: that was a behavior that was more common of previous
- 47:50Speaker 4: generations that maybe is not as common now, even of
- 47:53Speaker 4: younger kids.
- 47:54Speaker 3: But I thought it was funny.
- 47:55Speaker 4: And I even said something to my wife about at
- 47:57Speaker 4: nine years old, I don't think I cared what a
- 47:59Speaker 4: calorie was. I don't think I had any need to
- 48:03Speaker 4: understand it. And so it's just funny to me. And
- 48:06Speaker 4: I think that social media is probably a part of
- 48:08Speaker 4: the reason why, too, that kids are much more knowledgeable
- 48:11Speaker 4: on a lot of things. And this is one reason
- 48:13Speaker 4: that parents really need to make sure that they're protecting
- 48:16Speaker 4: their kids all the time. Because I've also had conversations
- 48:20Speaker 4: with nephews and nieces that I think are way too
- 48:22Speaker 4: young to know as many things politically as they know.
- 48:25Speaker 3: And it's not a bad thing. I'm kind of impressed
- 48:27Speaker 3: sometimes with the knowledge.
- 48:29Speaker 4: I dislike part of where that knowledge has pushed them
- 48:32Speaker 4: because they then get some corrupted opinions that I think
- 48:36Speaker 4: are coming from the same places that are teaching them
- 48:38Speaker 4: some things that are real. But nonetheless, honestly, a lot
- 48:41Speaker 4: of social media and kids' access to it and maybe
- 48:44Speaker 4: even smartphones and AI now have informed us in some
- 48:50Speaker 4: ways about very good things.
- 48:52Speaker 3: And actually, you know what?
- 48:53Speaker 4: I can pivot this to something else because I thought
- 48:55Speaker 4: this was interesting. I did this yesterday. I went to Google,
- 48:59Speaker 4: and if you ask a specific question to Google, it'll
- 49:03Speaker 4: auto-answer it with AI. And I think the question was
- 49:05Speaker 4: something about Trump. I can't remember what the trigger question was.
- 49:08Speaker 4: But in the answer, I felt that they were giving
- 49:10Speaker 4: me bias information. And so I started to argue with AI,
- 49:15Speaker 4: the one that Google auto-generates, about the bias within some
- 49:19Speaker 4: of the.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Things— it was saying. I remember what it was.
- 49:22Speaker 4: We had the Interior Secretary on yesterday, Doug Burgum. Doug
- 49:27Speaker 4: Burgum said that he thought that a lot of the
- 49:30Speaker 4: energy challenges that we're facing were made much, much worse
- 49:34Speaker 4: by the Biden administration. And if they hadn't done their
- 49:37Speaker 4: oil and gas fight when they did it, that when
- 49:40Speaker 4: Trump took office, gas prices, oil prices would have been better,
- 49:43Speaker 4: and even a war in Iran wouldn't have created as
- 49:46Speaker 4: many of the financial burdens as we're seeing right now,
- 49:50Speaker 4: specifically for diesel, gas, whatever it might be. I just
- 49:52Speaker 4: asked AI for its opinion of that statement, and it
- 49:55Speaker 4: told me how wrong the interior secretary is, which is ridiculous.
- 50:00Speaker 4: And so I argued some of the points that it
- 50:02Speaker 4: was using, and I kept getting AI to somewhat admit
- 50:04Speaker 4: that it was being biased, and then to provide me
- 50:07Speaker 4: another source of biased information. And my point in saying
- 50:11Speaker 4: this at the end of the show is that we're
- 50:14Speaker 4: getting to a place in society, I think we're probably
- 50:16Speaker 4: already there, where some parents don't even know what they
- 50:19Speaker 4: need to protect their kids from. The amount of things,
- 50:23Speaker 4: the amount of influence and information that can come from
- 50:26Speaker 4: all these different corners and sizes. There was a time
- 50:29Speaker 4: not all that long ago where you couldn't Google anything,
- 50:32Speaker 4: where in order to learn something, you had to go
- 50:34Speaker 4: to a library, check out a book, read it and
- 50:36Speaker 4: form your opinion that way. And we're very far from
- 50:39Speaker 4: that society, much to our detriment, I think. And I
- 50:42Speaker 4: think a lot of people who listen to the show
- 50:44Speaker 4: probably believe that, too.
- 50:46Speaker 3: But beyond it, beyond.
- 50:47Speaker 4: The simple idea of that is if you have a
- 50:50Speaker 4: kid that goes to Google and searches something and then
- 50:53Speaker 4: they're delivered a message that's built by humans in Silicon
- 50:56Speaker 4: Valley who have biases, there's a tremendous likelihood that the
- 51:00Speaker 4: information they're being fed, if it even like touches political discussion,
- 51:05Speaker 4: is biasly on a certain side. And so there's a
- 51:08Speaker 4: need to protect kids from any of that stuff. And
- 51:10Speaker 4: the one source that I think is better than others,
- 51:12Speaker 4: I will go ahead and put this out there and
- 51:15Speaker 4: maybe we'll do one other silly thing.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Before we get out of here.
- 51:17Speaker 4: I do believe that Grok and X does a better
- 51:21Speaker 4: job than most other social media or AI platforms of
- 51:25Speaker 4: giving you more unbiased information.
- 51:28Speaker 3: And I think they're doing that intentionally.
- 51:30Speaker 4: So if I were to recommend some sort of AI
- 51:33Speaker 4: that you could think is better suited for your kids
- 51:37Speaker 4: than any other one, it probably is that one. I
- 51:40Speaker 4: would say that Grok is the better of any of
- 51:42Speaker 4: those platforms. Real quick, one last thing. I think this
- 51:44Speaker 4: is interesting, and it's probably not a topic that many
- 51:47Speaker 4: people are going to talk about today. Capri Sun now
- 51:50Speaker 4: has a giant version of their drink, which I remember
- 51:53Speaker 4: as a kid. Capri Sun is the little fruit drink
- 51:57Speaker 4: that you put the straw through.
- 51:58Speaker 3: It's a little pouch.
- 52:00Speaker 4: Apparently now they have a massive version of the pouch,
- 52:02Speaker 4: which I find hilarious for just one reason. And anyone
- 52:07Speaker 4: that actually knows what the hell I'm talking about might
- 52:09Speaker 4: be able to remember this, too. Sometimes, especially as a kid,
- 52:13Speaker 4: you struggled a little bit to get the straw in
- 52:15Speaker 4: the little pouch. It was not as easy as it
- 52:17Speaker 4: was supposed to be. You might break some things. You
- 52:20Speaker 4: might spill some juice. The giant one seems way easier
- 52:23Speaker 4: in that regard. You get way more juice. you know,
- 52:27Speaker 4: drink than probably a kid should have. Way more sugar
- 52:30Speaker 4: will be ingested than you probably should have it. But nonetheless,
- 52:33Speaker 4: I do like the giant pouch because it does seem easier.
- 52:35Speaker 4: Three times the size of the little one I remember
- 52:38Speaker 4: drinking a lot at parties and stuff growing.
- 52:40Speaker 9: Up as a kid.
- 52:41Speaker 3: All right, that's it. That's the show. We're out of here.
- 52:43Speaker 4: Wayne is back tomorrow. I think we're going to have
- 52:45Speaker 4: a veteran voice at 830.
- 52:47Speaker 3: A lot of stuff going on. KSEV 700 AM, The
- 52:49Speaker 3: Voice of Texas.
- 52:55Speaker 2: I was caught in the middle.
