Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello Anna, Welcome to reality TV Crine. My name is
- 0:11Speaker 1: Celia and I am one of your hosts. I'm here
- 0:15Speaker 1: with my real tight homegirl and my daughter in law,
- 0:19Speaker 1: the quintessentually lovely Pitter Me. We are here to talk
- 0:26Speaker 1: sister wives, Sunny. We are currently in our reclined era.
- 0:32Speaker 1: We're watching season ten, the season of the Catfish. Allegedly
- 0:36Speaker 1: I didn't hear hide nor hair of the catfish in
- 0:41Speaker 1: this episode, but we'll talk about it before we get
- 0:44Speaker 1: into it. We do want to just issue you a
- 0:46Speaker 1: very serious disclaimer.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Urry please, how do wife? We don't want to see him.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I've been looking for those kids. This is an irreverent podcast, obviously.
- 1:01Speaker 1: And we're dumb. We're stupid, we have dumb opinions. We're
- 1:03Speaker 1: frequently wrong about stuff. We can't be urked to correct ourselves.
- 1:07Speaker 1: We're just here to have fun. Yeah, So if you're
- 1:09Speaker 1: a sensitive.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Get out of here while yeah, nobody wants you here.
- 1:13Speaker 1: You might want to find yourself another dumpster. Bye. But
- 1:17Speaker 1: if you're down to hang cable lights in a windstorm
- 1:22Speaker 1: with Cody Brown again, because we did this shit already
- 1:27Speaker 1: for that stupid family ceremony that we did with the
- 1:30Speaker 1: tree and everything. Yeah, then welcome to this dumpster.

- 2:08Speaker 1: A couple of times we've been featured in podcasts. I
- 2:11Speaker 1: know I feel famous. I do. I feel famous. So
- 2:16Speaker 1: every single thing you do allegedly helps us in the algorithm,
- 2:20Speaker 1: and so thank you in advance. Thanks. Now, be just
- 2:25Speaker 1: before we head on into this dip shitty episode that
- 2:30Speaker 1: was of no consequence and literally gave us nothing, I
- 2:35Speaker 1: do have to ask you whether you have a takeaway?
- 2:37Speaker 2: Well before I shit all over this episode in this recap,
- 2:40Speaker 2: I will say it was nice to see the whole
- 2:42Speaker 2: family get together for Thanksgiving and have all the decorations
- 2:46Speaker 2: and stuff. It reminded me of like my Thanksgivings with
- 2:49Speaker 2: my family when I was younger. We used to have
- 2:51Speaker 2: all of our families come together and it was really
- 2:53Speaker 2: fun and nice. So that was sweet.
- 2:57Speaker 1: It was sweet. Do I have a take away?
- 2:59Speaker 2: No?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Oh, I just the early seasons, really, all the seasons
- 3:04Speaker 1: I've ever seen are just rife with these episodes. It's
- 3:07Speaker 1: like one every third or fourth episode is just such
- 3:11Speaker 1: a big fat nothing burger with nothing going on, clear padding,
- 3:17Speaker 1: just looking for the advertising money of an episode, and
- 3:22Speaker 1: it gives me rage. But like, that's my takeaway. I
- 3:24Speaker 1: got nothing. This whole episode bored me because I thought
- 3:28Speaker 1: we were going to get to Leon and Mary, and
- 3:31Speaker 1: once again there was no confrontation. But that's next week, bitch.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I know.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I can't wait because I saw that previously. I wait
- 3:37Speaker 1: for that. Okay, Well, without further I do.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Oh.
- 3:41Speaker 1: By the way, we also have a little bit of
- 3:43Speaker 1: current events at the very end of this podcast. Yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 1: we've been kind of sprinkling that in here and there.
- 3:50Speaker 2: So we're thinking about making it a permanent thing.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Maybe, I don't know. We like to just chitchat about
- 3:55Speaker 1: things that are on our mind and in the collective
- 3:58Speaker 1: consciousness of rock Kons. So there's a couple thing that's
- 4:02Speaker 1: going on. First and foremost Ariana Grande, and second, you're
- 4:07Speaker 1: gonna put me on some gossip about Sam Altman propositioning
- 4:12Speaker 1: a gay guy and Balie and I want to hear
- 4:15Speaker 1: all about it. So we're gonna talk about that after
- 4:17Speaker 1: we talk about the Sister Wives. Stay tuned for that
- 4:19Speaker 1: if you're interested. Yeah, Okay, let's get into the recap.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Season ten, episode four, a tett.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Thanksgiving, The good, the bad, the ugly. Okay, I'm like, really,
- 4:32Speaker 2: there wasn't much of the bad or the ugly.
- 4:34Speaker 1: There was no conflict whatsoever. I guess between Janelle and
- 4:37Speaker 1: Mary a little bit, there was some tension.
- 4:40Speaker 2: This recap's probably gonna be sure as fuck because a
- 4:43Speaker 2: lot of it was like bouncing back and forth between
- 4:45Speaker 2: the same scenes over and over again. We've got a
- 4:48Speaker 2: couple of things going on. We're obviously prepping for Thanksgiving,
- 4:52Speaker 2: and this is a real big deal this year because
- 4:54Speaker 2: all of the adult kids are coming home from college,
- 4:57Speaker 2: particularly Hunter, who has been away at the Air Force
- 5:00Speaker 2: Academy for like five months. So he really hasn't seen anybody,
- 5:03Speaker 2: which is where Coloradota. You gotta I remember this time.
- 5:10Speaker 2: But yeah, so it's a real big deal because everyone's
- 5:12Speaker 2: coming home. Hunter is gonna come home and he hasn't
- 5:14Speaker 2: seen the family in over five months, so they're really
- 5:16Speaker 2: wanting to make it really special this year. They're gonna
- 5:19Speaker 2: have like seventy people. They're gonna have all the kids obviously,
- 5:23Speaker 2: and then some of the extended family and the grandparents. Yay,
- 5:27Speaker 2: did you.
- 5:27Speaker 1: See that lesbian in there? I did the lesbian was?
- 5:30Speaker 1: I think also at Robin's not gender reveal, but like
- 5:35Speaker 1: her baby shower, rob, I don't know who's the lesbian.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Why don't we talk about it? I would love to
- 5:41Speaker 1: talk about lesbian's. You know that I saw her again,
- 5:44Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Yeah, she was in the background. But we're prepping for Thanksgiving,
- 5:48Speaker 2: and while we're doing that, we have Cody hanging up
- 5:52Speaker 2: lights in the cul de sac because he wants to
- 5:54Speaker 2: symbolize that all the houses and the families are connected.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Together by lights, which we have already done a million
- 6:03Speaker 1: for the commitment ceremony or whatever that was.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And it's just stupid, like we don't need to watch
- 6:08Speaker 2: him untangle chords to hang up.
- 6:10Speaker 1: These lights and get frustrated, yeah, and yell at everybody
- 6:14Speaker 1: who's just trying to help him.
- 6:15Speaker 2: And then he's like stupidly standing on the top of
- 6:18Speaker 2: the ladder in the middle of the cul de sac
- 6:19Speaker 2: while it's windy, dangerous.
- 6:21Speaker 1: It's super dangerous. I'm like, like, what if he did,
- 6:26Speaker 1: I mean, that'd be terrible, would be terrible, Like it's
- 6:31Speaker 1: almost like you want to fall a little bit.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I'm kind of like, hmm. But he's hanging out these
- 6:37Speaker 2: dumb lights. He's like really excited about it. He wants
- 6:40Speaker 2: everybody else to be excited about it, and spoiler, no
- 6:42Speaker 2: one gives a shit.
- 6:43Speaker 1: We've already done this. In fact, it was two seasons ago.
- 6:47Speaker 1: It was nothing then and it's nothing now.
- 6:49Speaker 2: It's nothing now, dude. I mean, I guess, like to
- 6:52Speaker 2: throw Cody a bone, I'm like, I guess it's kind
- 6:54Speaker 2: of sweet if you want to like portray that you
- 6:57Speaker 2: care about everybody in the family. But we know that
- 6:59Speaker 2: you don't, right, we know that you don't give a shit.
- 7:02Speaker 2: So this is all just performative crap for TLC.
- 7:05Speaker 1: But it seems like it's centered around in specific Hunter. Yeah,
- 7:10Speaker 1: like everybody is so turbo excited for Hunter to come home.
- 7:15Speaker 1: He's only been gone for four or five months. That's
- 7:17Speaker 1: a long time at the Air Force Academy prep school, right,
- 7:21Speaker 1: But I think Maddie has probably been in Billings, Montana
- 7:25Speaker 1: for a few months, saying Leon is traveling up and
- 7:30Speaker 1: down h Utah to Nevada. I don't know how often
- 7:34Speaker 1: Leon is back. It just felt to me like Hunter
- 7:38Speaker 1: was the rock star of the family, which is fine
- 7:41Speaker 1: because Hunter is fabulous, but it was just kind of
- 7:43Speaker 1: weird to me.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like Cody in particular, favors a lot
- 7:48Speaker 2: of the boys from Janelle's side of things, Like they
- 7:51Speaker 2: all tend to be fair, except for Garrison, who was
- 7:53Speaker 2: unfortunately the scapegoat right a lot of the time. But
- 7:56Speaker 2: like Hunter and Logan were definitely always like Pride does
- 8:00Speaker 2: these like really great kids, and they are really great kids,
- 8:03Speaker 2: and that's awesome, But to play Devil's advocate, like Maddie
- 8:06Speaker 2: and Leon got to go to Alaska, Hunter didn't get
- 8:09Speaker 2: to go, and Maddie probably has been home. She did
- 8:12Speaker 2: come home, what was it like last episode?
- 8:14Speaker 1: But even in Alaska, they all called Hunter on the
- 8:19Speaker 1: FaceTime and everybody was just standing in the background completely right,
- 8:23Speaker 1: they do miss him. I just he's had such an
- 8:26Speaker 1: impact on the family, and I would just like to
- 8:28Speaker 1: know a little bit more about that. Yeah, because obviously
- 8:32Speaker 1: everyone is so stoked that he's home.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Yeah, they are super excited about it. And so while
- 8:36Speaker 2: Cody's hanging up the lights in the windstorm, we have
- 8:39Speaker 2: Janelle and Mary working on their project, which is all
- 8:42Speaker 2: of the fucking decorations for the tables that they are
- 8:47Speaker 2: going to set up. And this was primarily a way
- 8:51Speaker 2: for them to practice what they learned in therapy last week, right,
- 8:54Speaker 2: to work on their relationship and come together. But when
- 9:00Speaker 2: we go over to Mary's house, Mary's already got all
- 9:03Speaker 2: the decorations.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Yeah, so she's.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Not wanting to collaborate with Janelle whatsoever.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Well, she's expecting Janelle to bring like her own decorations,
- 9:13Speaker 1: and then Mary's supposed to look at Janelle's decorations, Janelle
- 9:16Speaker 1: looks at Mary's, and then they decide what they like
- 9:19Speaker 1: and come to a compromise. That's the way it sounded
- 9:22Speaker 1: that Mary was thinking things were going to go. So
- 9:25Speaker 1: I don't necessarily fault Mary for being prepared because she
- 9:28Speaker 1: likes to decorate. But I did kind of think it
- 9:31Speaker 1: was shitty for Janelle to walk into her house empty
- 9:34Speaker 1: handed with absolutely no ideas. I know, Janelle says, well,
- 9:38Speaker 1: I thought we're just going to talk about it. We
- 9:40Speaker 1: were just going to play like a planning sash. But
- 9:43Speaker 1: what really, like you should have had some ideas, Janelle. Yeah.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I think there's like a couple things going on here.
- 9:49Speaker 2: I think they're both like assuming incorrectly of the other.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Like Mary assumed Janelle would be prepared, but like was
- 9:55Speaker 2: that communicated, Like, Hey, Janelle, make sure you go to
- 9:59Speaker 2: Michael's and get decorations that you want to see, and
- 10:02Speaker 2: she did.
- 10:03Speaker 1: You have to tell a grown ass woman that she
- 10:06Speaker 1: needs to go to Michael's and get some decorations.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Like I feel like, I feel like you need to
- 10:10Speaker 2: communicate what you're going to.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Be weaponized incompetence. No, I think on the side of Janelle,
- 10:15Speaker 1: who would prefer actually if Mary did all.
- 10:17Speaker 2: The work, I do agree with that, Like, I do
- 10:20Speaker 2: think that Janelle assumed that she would just be a
- 10:23Speaker 2: part of the planning thing and then Mary would do
- 10:25Speaker 2: all of the crafting. But I feel like they both
- 10:28Speaker 2: didn't communicate what they were going to do about planning
- 10:31Speaker 2: the decorations.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I don't know. Mary seemed like she had communicated that.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I don't think Mary seemed like she had an expectation.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I assume it's born of an actual conversation between the
- 10:41Speaker 1: two women, But maybe it wasn't. Maybe you're right, maybe
- 10:43Speaker 1: it wasn't. My question to you, dear flower, is when
- 10:48Speaker 1: Janelle walks into Mary's haunted house and she's behind her
- 10:51Speaker 1: wet bar preparing decorations, did you feel the vibration of Mary?
- 10:55Speaker 1: Uh huh? Like there was just like some hard energy,
- 10:59Speaker 1: like the start my fucking decorations. I worked so hard
- 11:04Speaker 1: on them. Yeah, don't criticize my decorations.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:08Speaker 1: There wasn't like a spirit of Thanksgiving and holidays. Oh
- 11:11Speaker 1: my god, this is gonna be so fun. Girl. It
- 11:14Speaker 1: was like weird, That's what I'm saying.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Like I feel like Mary just took over it, and
- 11:19Speaker 2: Janelle does kind of talk about that, like Mary does
- 11:21Speaker 2: kind of take over things and just do it, and
- 11:23Speaker 2: Janelle lays over and lets her do it. Yeah, that's
- 11:26Speaker 2: the problem with their relationship is that they both just
- 11:30Speaker 2: kind of I don't even know.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Well, but also because Janelle doesn't want to do it.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Janelle's lazy, let's just chang.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Jene's walks hand like an e or like, yeah, well
- 11:42Speaker 1: I didn't really bring anything. I just figured we were
- 11:45Speaker 1: gonna chat about it. Meanwhile, Thanksgiving is the day after tomorrow. No, right,
- 11:50Speaker 1: come on, Janelle.
- 11:51Speaker 2: And maybe that's why Mary prepared everything because she knew
- 11:53Speaker 2: Janelle was just gonna be lazy, and she was right,
- 11:56Speaker 2: and she was right. But I will say when Janelle
- 11:58Speaker 2: came over empty handed, Mary did have the opportunity to
- 12:02Speaker 2: say something. She did kind of mention it, like I
- 12:04Speaker 2: thought you were going to bring stuff. Okay, it's fine,
- 12:07Speaker 2: Like I've got everything, don't worry because I'm an adult.
- 12:10Speaker 2: And I went to Michael's right, I got off the shit,
- 12:13Speaker 2: and Janelle says something to the camera like, I, you know,
- 12:17Speaker 2: feel like I'm swimming in my emotions because on the
- 12:19Speaker 2: one hand, I like everything that Mary picked out, but
- 12:23Speaker 2: I kind of wish I was a part of the
- 12:25Speaker 2: planning process. And I'm like, okay, well did you communicate that? Though?
- 12:28Speaker 2: That's my thing. I don't think either one of them
- 12:30Speaker 2: communicated to each other. I think they just assumed they
- 12:33Speaker 2: were going to fall into their old roles, and they did,
- 12:35Speaker 2: and Janelle talks about that, like, you know, they just
- 12:38Speaker 2: kind of slip into this pattern of being of existence and.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Disrupt the pattern by bringing over your own decorations and
- 12:46Speaker 1: having an opinion. But you don't want to do that because,
- 12:48Speaker 1: like you said, you're lazy and you actually want Mary
- 12:51Speaker 1: to do everything. You just want to be like her assistant.
- 12:54Speaker 1: You say it like you don't want to be the assistant.
- 12:57Speaker 1: She even talks a little bit about like I'm just
- 12:59Speaker 1: so yeah, I'm just like going somewhere else, like whatever,
- 13:02Speaker 1: I'll do whatever I need to do. But I feel
- 13:05Speaker 1: like that's what you want. You don't want to take
- 13:08Speaker 1: the lead with Mary. You don't want to be in
- 13:10Speaker 1: any kind of conflict whatsoever, even if it's like creative
- 13:13Speaker 1: bantering with Mary, because you are terminally avoidant. Yeah, or
- 13:18Speaker 1: grow up, forty five year old woman.
- 13:20Speaker 2: No for real, And like you know, you can make
- 13:22Speaker 2: an argument about maybe the reason why she doesn't want
- 13:25Speaker 2: to confront Mary about this is because Mary's been a
- 13:28Speaker 2: big old bitch for a lot of their history and
- 13:30Speaker 2: so she's maybe scared of her and that's fine or whatever,
- 13:33Speaker 2: but like grow up, and also don't agree to do
- 13:36Speaker 2: something that's completely out of your wheelhouse. Like if you
- 13:38Speaker 2: are not a crafty person and not decorative, don't offer
- 13:41Speaker 2: to do that. You can do a bunch of different
- 13:44Speaker 2: other things to work on your relationship with Mary, where
- 13:47Speaker 2: you both can like maybe step out of your comfort
- 13:49Speaker 2: zone a little bit, but it'll be easier. But instead
- 13:52Speaker 2: you chose to do something like decorating, which you don't
- 13:54Speaker 2: like to do in general. You don't even decorate your
- 13:56Speaker 2: own house for the holidays. And now you're wildly uncomfortable
- 14:00Speaker 2: and now you're just gonna let Mary do all the
- 14:02Speaker 2: work because she is going to anyway, because that's what
- 14:04Speaker 2: Mary likes to do.
- 14:05Speaker 1: But like, what kind of soft life do you have
- 14:07Speaker 1: to have where making decorations with the woman you've spent
- 14:12Speaker 1: twenty years of your life with is so traumatizing no
- 14:15Speaker 1: for real? Yeah, like psychologically damaging that you're dissociating and
- 14:18Speaker 1: going astral to the fifth dimension because you can't because
- 14:21Speaker 1: Mary is so assertive, like janew get some emotional intelligence,
- 14:26Speaker 1: I know.
- 14:27Speaker 2: And it's like the only thing that she tries to
- 14:30Speaker 2: do with this is like she spray painted some old
- 14:32Speaker 2: like soup cans badly really badly, Like she looks like
- 14:36Speaker 2: a kid that did it. She brings them over and
- 14:38Speaker 2: she knows that Mary's gonna say something about it, but
- 14:41Speaker 2: Mary ends up being like, these are fine, we'll work
- 14:45Speaker 2: it out. It's okay. So Mary could have been really critical,
- 14:49Speaker 2: and she does say in the past she totally would
- 14:51Speaker 2: have been critical, but in this moment she's not. And
- 14:54Speaker 2: so that's really showing her growth.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I'm telling you, it's giving weaponized incompetence. It's giving her
- 15:00Speaker 1: husband who's like, well, I thought I did do the dishes.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I mean I realized there's still mold on them. I mean,
- 15:05Speaker 1: did you want me to get the mold off? Then
- 15:06Speaker 1: you should do them so I don't have to do it.
- 15:09Speaker 1: It does kind of feel that way to me. And
- 15:11Speaker 1: we know that Janelle knows how to use the spray
- 15:14Speaker 1: paint can because didn't she do hard that Viking boat
- 15:18Speaker 1: or whatever, Like she knows how to spray a spray
- 15:22Speaker 1: paint can. I just got it's just straight up Janelle's lazy, yep,
- 15:27Speaker 1: and Mary's mean. Yeah, And Mary's mean, And so I
- 15:30Speaker 1: don't know why you chose to do decorations together as
- 15:32Speaker 1: a way of working on your relationship. But I guess
- 15:36Speaker 1: you can make the argument of like, well, maybe this
- 15:38Speaker 1: was a good test because obviously in the past you
- 15:40Speaker 1: failed well.
- 15:41Speaker 2: But obviously in the past they would have gone at
- 15:43Speaker 2: each other's throats, like Mary would have gotten mad at
- 15:45Speaker 2: Janelle for this kind of stuff, and in this moment
- 15:47Speaker 2: she chose not to. Sure, so okay, there's a little
- 15:51Speaker 2: minigro yes, but it's kind of stupid in general. And
- 15:55Speaker 2: Mary does say something like, you know, I have reflected
- 15:59Speaker 2: in the past one of my failures in my relationship
- 16:01Speaker 2: with Janelle is making a big deal about these external
- 16:05Speaker 2: things over like just the two of us. So I
- 16:08Speaker 2: think that that was like a good moment of self reflection.
- 16:11Speaker 2: But did we hear anything from Janelle about being lazy?
- 16:14Speaker 1: No, or how she should have done a little bit more,
- 16:17Speaker 1: like made a little bit more, brought something to the
- 16:19Speaker 1: table now.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Instead of eating ice cream?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Stop? Thank god?
- 16:23Speaker 2: Sorry, but it's like, what were you doing though, I mean,
- 16:26Speaker 2: I guess she's working, so that's fair, is she.
- 16:31Speaker 1: She's a realtor right at this point?
- 16:33Speaker 2: And like it's not that hard to buy some like
- 16:36Speaker 2: Thanksgiving themed stuff at the craft store, like.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Or go to Target. It's pre made seriously, yeah.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Or the Dollar Tree even it's like not, it's not difficult,
- 16:45Speaker 2: I don't know whatever. And then the other thing that
- 16:47Speaker 2: we have going on in this episode is Robin's decorating
- 16:50Speaker 2: her nursery.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I'm sick of this bitch. I'm so sick of this
- 16:55Speaker 1: bitch in this pregnancy. I love baby, love baby, some stuff.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I'm glad you're pregnant, honey, but I do not care
- 17:03Speaker 1: about your nursery. And Saul and Ariela having to share
- 17:08Speaker 1: a room and splitting it right down the middle so
- 17:10Speaker 1: the like half of the room is blue and half
- 17:13Speaker 1: of the room is pink, and I just this is again,
- 17:18Speaker 1: not anything I want to see in my primetime reality telement.
- 17:22Speaker 2: The only thing I thought was interesting about it was
- 17:25Speaker 2: everybody's reactions to Robin's idea of like having ari and
- 17:29Speaker 2: Saul share this room together, because she's really excited about
- 17:32Speaker 2: splitting it in half. She thinks it's gonna be fun
- 17:34Speaker 2: and quirky or whatever. And Cody kind of rolls his
- 17:38Speaker 2: eyes about it, but he's like, I'm gonna do it
- 17:39Speaker 2: because I love you, and Mary's like, no, it's kind
- 17:41Speaker 2: of interesting. It's weird, but like it's interesting and Janelle
- 17:44Speaker 2: thinks it's a really cool idea, but then Christine shits
- 17:47Speaker 2: all over it. She's like, it's fucking stupid. It is,
- 17:51Speaker 2: this is the dumbest idea ever. Okay, but you can
- 17:53Speaker 2: think it's stupid, but you don't have to shit on her.
- 17:56Speaker 1: For it, that's true. But you just love it though,
- 17:58Speaker 1: any shots taking it Robin shots that I love.
- 18:01Speaker 2: I felt like that was a response to something Robin did,
- 18:04Speaker 2: like behind the scenes, like Christine maybe wanted to get
- 18:08Speaker 2: at her for it. Like I just felt like it
- 18:10Speaker 2: was uncharacteristically mean. First, no, for no reason, Like it's
- 18:13Speaker 2: just a nursery and it's not even in your house,
- 18:15Speaker 2: Like it doesn't matter, and it's not stupid, or he's
- 18:17Speaker 2: gonna be a baby. Yeah, you don't know nothing, right,
- 18:20Speaker 2: And Saul's just a little peanut head just walking around.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, and didn't Robin say a couple of episodes
- 18:26Speaker 1: ago that Solomon actually sleeps with her and Cody, so
- 18:29Speaker 1: like he's never actually in the room.
- 18:31Speaker 2: It's like, really not a big deal.
- 18:32Speaker 1: So why are we here in your house filming this?
- 18:35Speaker 1: So Robin has five bedrooms?
- 18:37Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, And that was my other question. And I'm
- 18:39Speaker 2: like why do we have to have.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Sure, So she's got Mindy in one, she's got her
- 18:44Speaker 1: Cody in one, she's got Brianna and Aurora and d
- 18:49Speaker 1: c So Brianna and Aurora are probably sharing z in
- 18:53Speaker 1: and now these two nuggets.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yeah, so she does have a full house, she does.
- 18:57Speaker 1: What going on?
- 18:58Speaker 2: Why doesn't Dayton get to share a room with Slodin.
- 19:02Speaker 1: That would seem to make more sense. Yeah, I don't know.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Like, I shared a room with my sister for primarily
- 19:07Speaker 2: my entire life.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I shared a room with my brother.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Oh really, yes, the whole time.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Oh honey, we were po. We were super po and
- 19:15Speaker 1: so yeah, there were periods of time as teenagers that
- 19:19Speaker 1: we shared rooms. That's traumatizing, low key, it was a
- 19:22Speaker 1: little traumatizing. Yeah, oh my god.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 1: And there was only one bed. That sounds like a romance.
- 19:29Speaker 1: The only one bedroom is my brother. No, so he
- 19:31Speaker 1: slept on a futon on the floor.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Oh that's nice.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Yeah, he always gave me the bed. He is an angel.
- 19:37Speaker 1: But like, yeah, I've been there. It's grows.
- 19:39Speaker 2: No, Oh that's good, not at all. That's good at least. Yeah,
- 19:43Speaker 2: I think my mom and my uncle didn't have to
- 19:45Speaker 2: share a room. But I definitely did with my sister,
- 19:47Speaker 2: and I was annoyed with her.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure I was annoying to my brother.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I know I've heard some stories. Excuse me, I've heard
- 19:54Speaker 2: some stories. Oh really, well, I can't say this one
- 19:58Speaker 2: because it's it's the one where you made him drink
- 20:01Speaker 2: the Oh god.
- 20:02Speaker 1: I was three. I was like three years old. It's
- 20:05Speaker 1: it's not like I was a teenager sharing a room. Still.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Now we're gonna have to tell them. Look, I was three,
- 20:12Speaker 1: But like you have to ask yourself, where did I
- 20:14Speaker 1: come up with that? For saying that is so deviant
- 20:17Speaker 1: and bizarre. Anyway, I peed in a bowl, when I
- 20:22Speaker 1: tell you, as a child in Lehaina Maui, I had
- 20:26Speaker 1: never had clothes on. Ever. I maybe sometimes had a
- 20:29Speaker 1: shirt on. Like all of my baby pictures, I am naked,
- 20:32Speaker 1: a no deputy's headache, no diapers. Anyway, I peed in
- 20:37Speaker 1: a bowl. And my brother, who is only eighteen months
- 20:40Speaker 1: older than me, so we're really close together. Like so
- 20:43Speaker 1: he's dumb and he's young too, I gave it to
- 20:45Speaker 1: him and I said, this is this is lemonade he drank.
- 20:51Speaker 1: He hates his story too. Every time our family is together.
- 20:57Speaker 1: His own adult kids who are almost thirty, bring it
- 21:00Speaker 1: up and we have to talk about it. Oh it's
- 21:03Speaker 1: late drag copless just four year old. What an evil
- 21:13Speaker 1: three year old for? Since day one bars true facts? Anyway,
- 21:23Speaker 1: that's so funny.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Anyway, back to this Orhion episode. God, the Robbins got
- 21:29Speaker 2: her kids sharing a bedroom and nobody cares except for Christine,
- 21:32Speaker 2: who thinks it's really fucking stupid. And then it's Thanksgiving
- 21:35Speaker 2: Day and everybody's preparing mountains and mountains of food. And
- 21:39Speaker 2: I was getting hungry watching it.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Because I'm just like, oh, because we're tracking our macros,
- 21:44Speaker 1: we're eating in a deficit, both of us five hundred
- 21:47Speaker 1: calorie deficit, and trying to drink ninety six ounces of water,
- 21:50Speaker 1: which is impossible. It's not impossible. I've been doing it.
- 21:54Speaker 1: It actually moved the dial for my weight. I'm really
- 21:56Speaker 1: excited about it. I'm not going to belabor it, but yeah,
- 22:00Speaker 1: we don't get to eat. No, we don't seeing all
- 22:01Speaker 1: of this good Thanksgiving me We've got all the rules
- 22:04Speaker 1: and the turkeys shit, and it just looks so good.
- 22:08Speaker 2: And you know, to speak to Janelle's laziness, we have
- 22:10Speaker 2: Mary and Christine making a shitload of food. Like Christine's
- 22:15Speaker 2: making like two hundred and fifty rolls and like a
- 22:17Speaker 2: bunch of pies and stuff, and you've got Janelle like
- 22:20Speaker 2: chopping some lettuce. Yeah, I think she made like a
- 22:23Speaker 2: couple of pumpkin pies, but I don't know if she
- 22:25Speaker 2: made them her mom's. I think it's her mom, yeah,
- 22:29Speaker 2: like making them in the background. Meanwhile, I've got Mary
- 22:31Speaker 2: making two turkeys and also a bunch of cheesecakes and
- 22:35Speaker 2: stuffing and pounds and pounds of potatoes, and Janelle's chopping.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I just had to comment about it because I'm just like, girl,
- 22:44Speaker 2: you can share the workload. There's a million people coming.
- 22:47Speaker 1: But whatever.
- 22:48Speaker 2: And then the only other thing that was eventful of
- 22:50Speaker 2: this episode was when they were actually setting up the
- 22:54Speaker 2: furniture with all of the tables and stuff for everybody
- 22:57Speaker 2: to sit in somebody's house. I don't even know whose
- 22:59Speaker 2: house it was.
- 22:59Speaker 1: I want to say it was Christine's, it.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Looked like it, maybe, so when they're setting up the tables, Initially,
- 23:05Speaker 2: Christine and Cody had agreed on setting them up in
- 23:08Speaker 2: a way where there was walking space in between the
- 23:10Speaker 2: tables and in the middle so that wait, there was
- 23:12Speaker 2: more room for everybody. When they get it, I'll set up.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Mary comes in with her big ass and is like, actually,
- 23:19Speaker 2: I think it'd be better if we had long tables.
- 23:22Speaker 2: It would look nicer. And Christine's like, okay, cool, chill,
- 23:25Speaker 2: that's fine, I don't care. I'm in the kitchen cooking
- 23:28Speaker 2: all this food. Do whatever you want. So Mary starts
- 23:30Speaker 2: setting it up, and then Cody waltzes in with his
- 23:32Speaker 2: floppy hair and he's like, the fuck I didn't want
- 23:36Speaker 2: long tables. I thought we agreed on maneuverability, and Mary
- 23:40Speaker 2: blames Christine for it immediately, immediately, no question, and Christine
- 23:44Speaker 2: takes one for the team and she's like, yeah, no, honey,
- 23:46Speaker 2: like I thought it would be better set.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Up elegant, sophisticated.
- 23:50Speaker 2: And Cody's like, Okay, I don't give a shit whatever.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I'm going back to Robbins right. Let me know when
- 23:55Speaker 2: everything's ready, and I'll come over with my real family.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Yep.
- 23:59Speaker 2: And Mary says something to the camera like, you know,
- 24:01Speaker 2: it's easier for me if Cody's not mad at me,
- 24:04Speaker 2: and he's mad at another sister wife, and I just
- 24:06Speaker 2: want to point out again that this is a marker
- 24:08Speaker 2: of Mary's shitty ass character, because what do you do
- 24:11Speaker 2: when blame in other people? You're forty five, just take
- 24:13Speaker 2: the one for the team.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yourself worthy of or whatever.
- 24:16Speaker 2: I mean. Her marriage is crumbly anyway, So why do
- 24:18Speaker 2: you care if Cody's give me mad at you?
- 24:20Speaker 1: He's already mad at you, I mean, and he wasn't
- 24:22Speaker 1: really mad. He was just sort of debating the point
- 24:24Speaker 1: of what's more functional, Like you can have a conversation
- 24:26Speaker 1: Mary without putting your walls up. For real, the walls
- 24:29Speaker 1: are growing up in the that's you. It is that Sie.
- 24:33Speaker 1: It's so stupid, very much so.
- 24:35Speaker 2: But everyone sits at the tables with Mary's lovely decorations
- 24:39Speaker 2: and everyone's happy and everyone's together, and Cody says something like,
- 24:42Speaker 2: we're really grateful, really grateful for our family and for
- 24:45Speaker 2: God and for these lights that I put up myself.
- 24:50Speaker 2: And the end that's it, Like there was nothing else.
- 24:53Speaker 1: When does the light reveal? Like doesn't he the end
- 24:56Speaker 1: of it? Oh yeah, So at the end of the episode,
- 24:59Speaker 1: he's like gud I was surprised for the whole family.
- 25:02Speaker 1: After Hunter comes home, come and meet me, in the
- 25:04Speaker 1: cauld a stack parking lot or whatever it's called. And
- 25:07Speaker 1: so all of the family goes outside and they see
- 25:10Speaker 1: the cable lights that Cody strung together while risking his
- 25:13Speaker 1: life standing on a ladder in a windstorm. And everyone's like, cool, Pop,
- 25:18Speaker 1: it's great, let's go play Nintendo or something. Let's go
- 25:21Speaker 1: eat some food. And he's a little bit like, wow,
- 25:24Speaker 1: nobody cares that I put up these lights and I
- 25:27Speaker 1: went to all this effort for them. They barely even noticed.
- 25:30Speaker 1: And I feel like he.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Holds onto that to this day, like nobody appreciated my efforts.
- 25:34Speaker 2: And it's like, dude, it's just lights. It's also Thanksgiving day,
- 25:38Speaker 2: Hunter just got home.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Everybody's talking to one another time.
- 25:42Speaker 2: This is what you want, Yeah, and that's the point
- 25:45Speaker 2: of the holiday.
- 25:45Speaker 1: It's such a narcissist. We have to take a moment
- 25:47Speaker 1: of silence to recognize everything that I did. And it's like,
- 25:51Speaker 1: this to Cody is hard manual labor. Yeah, this is
- 25:55Speaker 1: how soft he's become. This is the extent of his
- 25:58Speaker 1: manly ability. Is like angling himself on the top of
- 26:01Speaker 1: a ladder stringing together fucking Christmas light.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I mean, it's not that big of a deal, and
- 26:06Speaker 2: he had to have Christine and Payden help him too.
- 26:08Speaker 1: It wasn't even just him.
- 26:10Speaker 2: So it's just like Cody chill out, like let everybody
- 26:13Speaker 2: be together. And then he makes a comment at the
- 26:15Speaker 2: end at the end of the episode saying like this
- 26:17Speaker 2: is probably gonna be our last Thanksgiving together, and I
- 26:20Speaker 2: was thinking I think it was. I don't know, I
- 26:24Speaker 2: think they maybe have like one or two after this.
- 26:26Speaker 2: But then they go to Flagstaff and everybody's broken up
- 26:28Speaker 2: and nobody hangs out anymore oof, and it's like, yeah,
- 26:32Speaker 2: I was like, dang, the foreshadowing, like because he had
- 26:35Speaker 2: said it in the context of like, you know, Maddie's
- 26:37Speaker 2: gonna be getting married, and Hunter is gonna be going
- 26:39Speaker 2: to the Air Force, and Garrison's going to the National Guard,
- 26:42Speaker 2: and like all of these kids are, you know, like
- 26:44Speaker 2: growing up while he's still having babies and stuff with Robin,
- 26:48Speaker 2: and it's just the family is changing. So this is
- 26:50Speaker 2: a really important holiday, but let's focus on the lights.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Because that's important. Yeah, dumb.
- 26:55Speaker 2: So then we get to the preview for next week's episode,
- 26:57Speaker 2: which is gonna be drama. We have Mary making a
- 27:02Speaker 2: trip up to Utah because she's gonna go see Leon,
- 27:05Speaker 2: and we see a scene of her asking Robin if
- 27:08Speaker 2: she can take Solomon on the trip, right, and Robin
- 27:11Speaker 2: basically says no. And I actually remember this scene me too,
- 27:15Speaker 2: because Mary wants to bring Solomon as a way of like,
- 27:18Speaker 2: I want to connect with the family. I want to
- 27:20Speaker 2: show everybody that I'm still a part.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Does she or does she want to take Solomon as
- 27:24Speaker 1: a shield to protect her from Leon's inevitable wrath?
- 27:29Speaker 2: Maybe that, And I do remember Robin saying no to Solomon,
- 27:33Speaker 2: But I think she lets her bring Brianna, So I
- 27:36Speaker 2: think Brianna goes up there with her as her shield.
- 27:40Speaker 2: And so then when we have Mary visiting with Leon,
- 27:43Speaker 2: this is when we get a glimpse into their damaged,
- 27:47Speaker 2: distant relationship. Mary says that Leon has been distant from
- 27:51Speaker 2: her for quite a while and she has to kind
- 27:54Speaker 2: of tread lightly with Leon to try and bridge the gap.
- 27:58Speaker 2: But when we have Leon talking to the camera crying
- 28:02Speaker 2: and saying that Mary ruined their relationship and now Mary
- 28:04Speaker 2: expects Leon to just forgive them and Leon doesn't and
- 28:08Speaker 2: also do all the work and do.
- 28:09Speaker 1: All to repair the relationship. Yes, And I felt that
- 28:13Speaker 1: me too.
- 28:14Speaker 2: I'm like team Leon for once.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Mary needs Leon in this moment to
- 28:20Speaker 1: do her as solid and just have her back accept
- 28:23Speaker 1: her so that she can move on a little bit
- 28:25Speaker 1: more seamlessly from the catfish. But honey, Leon is not
- 28:28Speaker 1: going to do that, and that's not how real life,
- 28:30Speaker 1: nor do you deserve that.
- 28:32Speaker 2: No, Like, you're gonna have to be able to navigate
- 28:34Speaker 2: these hard emotions, but Mary can't do that. She's always
- 28:37Speaker 2: got to have walls up. And I remember some of
- 28:40Speaker 2: these scenes, like Leon's pretty nasty to Mary. They're just
- 28:43Speaker 2: straight up mad at her, and I kind of love it.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I can't wait.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I can't wait for that perfect Yeah.
- 28:50Speaker 1: And thus concludes that episode. Yeah, all right, well then
- 28:53Speaker 1: let's get into our current events.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Betch do you want to talk about Ariana Grande first?
- 28:59Speaker 1: Yeah, let's talk about our Riana Grande, just because I
- 29:02Speaker 1: think so many people out there are discussing this, and
- 29:06Speaker 1: obviously the topic is her body and inspecific how much
- 29:12Speaker 1: weight she's lost. And we've kind of seen this arc
- 29:16Speaker 1: with Ariana from her time on Wicked, you know, in
- 29:21Speaker 1: the two Wicked movies, and her kind of strange relationship
- 29:25Speaker 1: with Cynthia erivo, very strange and very little bit sappok
- 29:29Speaker 1: coded and codependent, and it was just kind of odd.
- 29:34Speaker 1: But for those that are looking, and I think a
- 29:37Speaker 1: lot of women are, and certainly young women and fans
- 29:40Speaker 1: are looking like her body has also kind of gone
- 29:43Speaker 1: through this transformation, and in particular, she's very very thin,
- 29:49Speaker 1: and there have been some photos over the last month
- 29:52Speaker 1: or two and even in her own videos where like
- 29:55Speaker 1: you've got her protruding rib cage and her stick like arms.
- 30:01Speaker 1: I mean, it's not Eugenia Cooney necessarily, but like we're
- 30:05Speaker 1: trending in that direction. And so I think the controversy
- 30:08Speaker 1: around this is starting with, like, do we have a
- 30:12Speaker 1: right to comment on people's bodies? Now? Of course we
- 30:18Speaker 1: do this all the time. We talk about people's bodies
- 30:21Speaker 1: the time, like on this podcast. We're very irreverent, as
- 30:23Speaker 1: I say, But like, as a society, do we have
- 30:27Speaker 1: an actual right to talk about people's bodies? Because you
- 30:30Speaker 1: never really know what they're going through mentally or physically
- 30:34Speaker 1: at any given time, whether somebody's ill, whether somebody's struggling,
- 30:39Speaker 1: like that shows up in your body, and if you
- 30:41Speaker 1: have like an audience commenting on it, I mean, how
- 30:45Speaker 1: much worse would that make your mentals? But at the
- 30:47Speaker 1: same time, on the other end of that question is okay,
- 30:51Speaker 1: but you're famous, and you've signed on for this celebrity life,
- 30:57Speaker 1: and you've put yourself out there intentionally for decades now
- 31:02Speaker 1: in front of young girls, especially with these impressionable minds
- 31:06Speaker 1: and who are trying to figure out where they fit
- 31:09Speaker 1: into the beauty standard, right and they're looking at you
- 31:13Speaker 1: their favorite person in the world, and they're seeing you,
- 31:16Speaker 1: first of all, become racially ambiguous over and over again.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Then your body changes and now you're so freaking thin,
- 31:22Speaker 1: and you do have a responsibility when you have really
- 31:27Speaker 1: any kind of platform, but especially such a Gigando platform
- 31:32Speaker 1: where young people follow you, you do have a responsibility
- 31:36Speaker 1: to be mindful of what you're projecting out to that audience.
- 31:40Speaker 1: And you can get madhoodie when that audience, or the
- 31:44Speaker 1: parents of that audience, or just people in general start
- 31:47Speaker 1: asking questions about why your ribs are protruding, which for
- 31:53Speaker 1: me kind of then segues and funnels into the larger
- 31:57Speaker 1: conversation around standards and why this is happening right now.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Because Betrice, in the nineties, we had heroin chic Okay,
- 32:07Speaker 1: when I was coming up, we had like sort of
- 32:10Speaker 1: that grungy, very skinny model esthetic that was what was
- 32:15Speaker 1: in as a young woman at the time. It was
- 32:18Speaker 1: quite a lot to struggle up against because we all
- 32:20Speaker 1: want to be that, we all want to project that,
- 32:23Speaker 1: but not everybody can do that. And so I, for one,
- 32:26Speaker 1: definitely had an ed, a long standing ed that I
- 32:30Speaker 1: struggled with and still struggle with in my mentals to
- 32:33Speaker 1: this day as a fifty eight year old woman. Okay,
- 32:35Speaker 1: I'm still struggling with that shit, and that's all the
- 32:38Speaker 1: way back in my youth. And so I can't help
- 32:40Speaker 1: but think about the young girls and the women now
- 32:44Speaker 1: who are being exposed to this in particular, and to me,
- 32:48Speaker 1: it's worse like what we're seeing with Demi Moore and
- 32:52Speaker 1: Ariana Grande and Jenna Ortiga week Olivia wild As. I
- 33:00Speaker 1: like all of these women who were slender already for
- 33:05Speaker 1: the most party and now they're just death thin.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, what's what.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Is going on? And a lot of people are bringing
- 33:13Speaker 1: it up because not just because we want to shame
- 33:15Speaker 1: you and call out your ribs and stuff. It's because
- 33:18Speaker 1: we don't want you to die.
- 33:20Speaker 2: And that's the thing, what's happening. That's my opinion on it.
- 33:23Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't think we should be like shitting
- 33:26Speaker 2: on the way people look if they're just like normal,
- 33:29Speaker 2: regular regular people that even if they're like a little
- 33:32Speaker 2: overweight or whatever, Like we shouldn't be like shitting on
- 33:35Speaker 2: people's appearances in that regard. But when you have people
- 33:38Speaker 2: who are like on these extreme spectrums of weight, where
- 33:42Speaker 2: either like six hundred pound life people or like death
- 33:47Speaker 2: thin anorexic people, like we should be able to call
- 33:51Speaker 2: that out in a way of like this is not healthy.
- 33:54Speaker 2: We're worried about you. And to your point about like
- 33:57Speaker 2: these celebrities who are in the public eye and they're
- 33:59Speaker 2: INFLA and seeing young girls in particular, Like the problem
- 34:04Speaker 2: becomes when we make comments about Ariana, you look really
- 34:07Speaker 2: fucking thin. Are you okay? Like are you eating? Because
- 34:10Speaker 2: this looks really really unhealthy and this is really not
- 34:13Speaker 2: good to have these celebrities respond back by no, I'm fine,
- 34:18Speaker 2: Like I'm healthy. You shouldn't comment on my body, like
- 34:20Speaker 2: I've just been going through a lot, but like that's
- 34:22Speaker 2: really fine.
- 34:23Speaker 1: She's like I would really appreciate if you guys didn't
- 34:26Speaker 1: comment on my body. That gross, like very judgmental of
- 34:29Speaker 1: the people who were speaking about about what they were seeing.
- 34:32Speaker 2: No, And like Ariana Grande I read a while ago
- 34:36Speaker 2: when she was like healthier looking. She's only like five
- 34:40Speaker 2: foot one and she was like she was like a
- 34:43Speaker 2: week whopping one hundred and ten pounds, so she's probably
- 34:47Speaker 2: like eighty pounds, very very seventy. Like she's incredibly thin.
- 34:52Speaker 2: If you've seen the photos of her when she was
- 34:54Speaker 2: on tour recently, like it was really really bad. She
- 34:57Speaker 2: was wearing this big dress to kind of hide the
- 34:59Speaker 2: fact that she is so deathly thin, and people aren't
- 35:02Speaker 2: even commenting about it in like a I mean, there
- 35:04Speaker 2: are people that are commenting it in a shameful way,
- 35:06Speaker 2: but the vast majority of people are being like this
- 35:09Speaker 2: is scary, like what's going on and people are likening
- 35:12Speaker 2: it too, like the rise of GLP ones and ozempic
- 35:15Speaker 2: and like this is kind of the ozempics.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Probably connected, Yeah, because.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Like Kelly Osbourne I think was on ozempic and now
- 35:21Speaker 2: the way she looks, it's like you look fucking scary
- 35:24Speaker 2: and like we shouldn't be normalizing this kind of stuff.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Agreed, And that's like.
- 35:28Speaker 2: The gray area that I think, like, I feel like
- 35:30Speaker 2: we should be able to call this kind of stuff
- 35:32Speaker 2: out on both ends of the spectrum and be like, yeah,
- 35:34Speaker 2: maybe you shouldn't be six hundred pounds and maybe you
- 35:37Speaker 2: shouldn't be seventy five pounds, Like this is not healthy
- 35:41Speaker 2: in any capacity, and we shouldn't be normalizing it or
- 35:43Speaker 2: glorifying it or like tiptoeing around right in like you
- 35:47Speaker 2: know PC speak and be like, no, it's finely, we
- 35:51Speaker 2: should we should we include the Oh.
- 35:53Speaker 1: No, that's not how it works. And when she did
- 35:57Speaker 1: respond to the outcry of concern from her audience, again
- 36:02Speaker 1: she was defensive about it. She was like a little
- 36:04Speaker 1: bit indignant, like, how dare you comment on my body?
- 36:07Speaker 1: I'm like, what are you talking about? Of course people
- 36:09Speaker 1: are going to be commenting on this. You look delitarious
- 36:13Speaker 1: weight loss, and they should. And this kind of connects
- 36:16Speaker 1: a little bit to Perez Hilton, which we talked about
- 36:19Speaker 1: last week in our last video. If you want to
- 36:21Speaker 1: go check out our comments on that, you can do
- 36:23Speaker 1: it at the end of last week's video. But like
- 36:25Speaker 1: his team came out with a statement Paris Hilton, Paris Hilton,
- 36:31Speaker 1: Perez Hilton, dot Com came out with a statement saying
- 36:33Speaker 1: something like, like, you know, Perez is in the hospital,
- 36:37Speaker 1: he's going to be healing for a while. We really
- 36:39Speaker 1: appreciate your privacy. We you know, don't want to like
- 36:43Speaker 1: have to address anything right now. We'll let you know
- 36:45Speaker 1: what's going on at the right time. And that too,
- 36:50Speaker 1: is striking such a bad chord with people, because again
- 36:54Speaker 1: we have to remind ourselves how back in the day,
- 36:57Speaker 1: and really actually not that long ago, Perez Hilton would
- 37:00Speaker 1: have been the first blogger or person online to broadcast
- 37:06Speaker 1: if somebody did what he did online or was self
- 37:09Speaker 1: hurting or however you want to say it, like he
- 37:12Speaker 1: would be the first person to exploit the f out
- 37:16Speaker 1: of that. But now because it's him, and now because
- 37:19Speaker 1: he did it, he requires and asks for our privacy.
- 37:23Speaker 1: But like, it just really doesn't work that way. You
- 37:26Speaker 1: don't get to be just this gigantic spectacle on the internet,
- 37:30Speaker 1: whether you're arian Na Grande or Perez Hilton and then
- 37:33Speaker 1: just expect people to shut up about it. Yeah, when
- 37:35Speaker 1: you're famous and you signed up for this, And of
- 37:38Speaker 1: course there's a conversation around like how should we actually
- 37:41Speaker 1: really view and treat celebrities and we could have that
- 37:45Speaker 1: conversation at some point, But like, you can't sign up
- 37:48Speaker 1: for the deal and then get upset when people are
- 37:51Speaker 1: acting on that deal, that public contract, and.
- 37:54Speaker 2: They're pointing out things that are totally valid. It's not
- 37:57Speaker 2: like they're talking about like the shape of your nose
- 37:59Speaker 2: like they're or the fact.
- 38:00Speaker 1: That you're a home wrecker. No, Mariana, did.
- 38:04Speaker 2: You see did you see she's back with her ex
- 38:07Speaker 2: Ricky or whatever? Yeah, I'm like, Okay, can't you be alone?
- 38:11Speaker 1: No?
- 38:11Speaker 2: She can't. Like, can't you like go to therapy ever
- 38:13Speaker 2: since Mac died? She can't.
- 38:15Speaker 1: You have all of these resources and you can't just
- 38:17Speaker 1: like take a breath and go to Balie or something
- 38:21Speaker 1: and just chill out. You've got to just go from
- 38:25Speaker 1: one dude to the next dude to the next dude.
- 38:28Speaker 1: There's something wrong, Henny.
- 38:29Speaker 2: I feel like Mac Miller really fucked her up, honestly,
- 38:32Speaker 2: And I think she and I know she was like
- 38:33Speaker 2: dating around before then, but I really think after Mac died,
- 38:36Speaker 2: like it was traumatizing. But I'm a girl, go.
- 38:38Speaker 1: To therapy, go to therapy, Jeezu.
- 38:42Speaker 2: But there's a lot of people that need to go
- 38:43Speaker 2: to therapy that don't so correct.
- 38:45Speaker 1: So tell us what you guys think about the Ariana
- 38:48Speaker 1: grande situation. Are you hating us because we're talking about this?
- 38:51Speaker 1: Are you in agreement with it? What is your feeling
- 38:54Speaker 1: about it? Especially from the perspective of like society, Do
- 38:57Speaker 1: we have a responsibility as the views and those that
- 39:01Speaker 1: are ingesting all of this projection, like, do we have
- 39:04Speaker 1: a responsibility to call it out? What do you think?
- 39:07Speaker 2: Yeah, let us know in the comments, and again, as always,
- 39:09Speaker 2: let us know if there's any other current offense you
- 39:11Speaker 2: guys want us to talk about too, because we might
- 39:14Speaker 2: run out of ideas.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Yes, well, and so let's get into this Sam Altman. So,
- 39:19Speaker 1: Sam Altman is the dude who did open Ai.
- 39:22Speaker 2: He's the CEO of open Ai and also allegedly a
- 39:25Speaker 2: murder allegedly.
- 39:28Speaker 1: I'm sure that's not true. I couldn't be true.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Sure, don't assume me it's alleged.
- 39:34Speaker 1: No, But anyway, So he's the main headhon show of
- 39:39Speaker 1: open Ai. Is that Chatgypt?
- 39:41Speaker 2: Yes?
- 39:42Speaker 1: Okay?
- 39:42Speaker 2: And Sam Altman, for those of you who don't know,
- 39:44Speaker 2: is like just a giant piece of shit, Like nobody
- 39:47Speaker 2: likes him. He's just a terrible person. He is like
- 39:49Speaker 2: anti humanist. He thinks that like humans don't need to exist,
- 39:54Speaker 2: like for Ai. Like he he's gone on lots of
- 39:57Speaker 2: tirades about why humans are obsolete and not needed and
- 40:01Speaker 2: we can replace everybody with except by him, except for him.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Is he a needed human? Yeah, okay, because.
- 40:06Speaker 2: He's God, because he created Ai. Like, so he's he's
- 40:09Speaker 2: generally a piece of shit. He has definitely hated amongst
- 40:13Speaker 2: the younger generations Gen Z and millennials for sure. Nobody
- 40:17Speaker 2: fucking likes him. So there is a creator on Instagram
- 40:21Speaker 2: called Frosted Jake. He makes like little jingles and stuff.
- 40:25Speaker 2: He's this cute little gay guy and he like makes
- 40:26Speaker 2: jingles about like current events or like you know, how
- 40:29Speaker 2: he's feeling during the day. He just makes like fun content.
- 40:33Speaker 2: He is not a like political commentator by any means.
- 40:37Speaker 2: He's just like a childude who makes jingles. And he
- 40:40Speaker 2: posted recently some screenshots of Sam Altman reaching out to
- 40:45Speaker 2: him on Grinder and it has become such a crazy story,
- 40:51Speaker 2: so we'll probably post the screenshots and stuff here. But
- 40:55Speaker 2: so Grinder is the gay the gay tender, okay, the
- 40:58Speaker 2: gay tender. So it's not necessarily dating. It's hook up, yeah,
- 41:01Speaker 2: but it's dating too, Okay, yeah, but anyway, so frosted,
- 41:05Speaker 2: Jake gets a DM that just says hi, and Jake's like,
- 41:10Speaker 2: face picture, can you let me know who the fuck
- 41:11Speaker 2: you are? And it's a picture of Sam Altman and
- 41:14Speaker 2: it's him like holding up his badge and Jake replies,
- 41:19Speaker 2: oh my god, you're Sam Altman and he confirms it.
- 41:21Speaker 2: He's like, yep, I am, and Jake goes, are you real?
- 41:24Speaker 2: He says yes, He's like, why are you on Grinder?
- 41:28Speaker 2: Sam Waltman says I'm lonely and horny, and Jake says,
- 41:31Speaker 2: as you should be. No, he posts all these screenshots
- 41:36Speaker 2: on Instagram. It's so fucking goods you should because you
- 41:39Speaker 2: should be, because fuck Sam Almon, and Sam Waltman replies,
- 41:42Speaker 2: sad face want to come over, and Jake says, hey,
- 41:45Speaker 2: thanks for asking, but I'm going to pass. I hope
- 41:47Speaker 2: you have a good night, and Sam Waltman goes, did
- 41:49Speaker 2: you use chat GPT for that? And Jake replies, we
- 41:54Speaker 2: reap what we sew. So after he posted these screenshots
- 41:57Speaker 2: of the Grinder conversation, he made a little jingle where
- 42:00Speaker 2: he talked about how sam Altman is an AI gay
- 42:02Speaker 2: guy looking for fun, and it went viral and he
- 42:06Speaker 2: posted all of these screenshots just unabashedly exposing Sam Altman
- 42:11Speaker 2: for being a gay dude, which I think is hilarious.
- 42:13Speaker 2: And so then, in response to this, because it went
- 42:16Speaker 2: viral and everybody's talking about it, Open AI's legal team
- 42:20Speaker 2: reached out to Jake via email, and Jake promptly posted
- 42:26Speaker 2: the email screenshots of it, and they said to him, Jake,
- 42:30Speaker 2: we are writing regarding a recent social media post that
- 42:33Speaker 2: attributes private communications to our CEO. Regardless of intent, the
- 42:38Speaker 2: post has generated substantial public confusion and presents a material
- 42:43Speaker 2: risk of reputational and commercial harm. Without admitting liability or
- 42:47Speaker 2: waiving any rights, we would appreciate your voluntary removal of
- 42:51Speaker 2: the post. Compensation for your time and cooperation is a possibility.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Please treat this communication as confidential. If you are open
- 42:59Speaker 2: to resolve the matter informally, reply to this email within
- 43:02Speaker 2: forty eight hours. And so then Jake posts this email. Yes,
- 43:08Speaker 2: it's so awesome, and he's like, what do I do
- 43:11Speaker 2: you guys? He makes another jingle and he's like, they're
- 43:14Speaker 2: willing to offer compensation, Should I take it? Like would
- 43:17Speaker 2: that be me, like going against my morals because I
- 43:21Speaker 2: hate Sam Almon? But like what if he could make
- 43:23Speaker 2: me a billionaire? Like what if I could be rich
- 43:26Speaker 2: because of this? And so everybody, of course online is like,
- 43:29Speaker 2: just reply, just see how much they're willing to give you,
- 43:32Speaker 2: because why not? This would be hilarious. And so Jake
- 43:36Speaker 2: responds in the email and he says, Diva, I'm so
- 43:39Speaker 2: sorry about all the posts. Is compensation still on the table? XO?
- 43:43Speaker 1: Jake?
- 43:44Speaker 2: And then open ai replies back and says, Jake, we
- 43:48Speaker 2: know you're probably going to post this too, so let's
- 43:50Speaker 2: dispense with the formalities. No compensation isn't necessarily out of
- 43:54Speaker 2: the picture, but let's get on a zoom and talk
- 43:57Speaker 2: through what you're looking for and what we can reasonably do.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Send over a few times that work from you best
- 44:02Speaker 2: legal open Ai. So then he posts that screenshot. He
- 44:06Speaker 2: posts the screenshot of him joining the zoom call. So
- 44:09Speaker 2: he does actually meet with open AI's legal team, and
- 44:14Speaker 2: does he record that He didn't. I don't think he
- 44:16Speaker 2: recorded it because he hasn't posted a video of it.
- 44:18Speaker 2: But he did meet with them, and then he got
- 44:20Speaker 2: a response from open AI's legal team after the Zoom
- 44:25Speaker 2: call and said, Jake, thanks for chatting today. The best
- 44:28Speaker 2: we can offer is five hundred dollars and a branded Krewnick.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Please send your size and suret an open AI Crewnick.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Shut up and mind you. They want to give him
- 44:40Speaker 2: this compensation for him to like delete all the posts
- 44:43Speaker 2: and stuff, so that's not worth it obviously, And so
- 44:46Speaker 2: Jake responds back and says, hey, girls, that's a great
- 44:50Speaker 2: that's a great start, but I'd like to counter by
- 44:52Speaker 2: asking for one billion dollars. Please let me know your thoughts.
- 45:00Speaker 2: He goes smooches Jake, and so that was what was
- 45:03Speaker 2: left off last week. And then it gets even better
- 45:07Speaker 2: because Sam Altman himself reached out to Jake on Instagram
- 45:12Speaker 2: via dm no.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yes, is this for real? I am for real.
- 45:16Speaker 2: It's from Sam Altman's actual account, and so he reaches
- 45:20Speaker 2: out to Jake and he goes, Jake, sorry for all
- 45:23Speaker 2: the legal trouble. I'm a bit embarrassed. Jake is also
- 45:27Speaker 2: currently in Bali right now on like a family vacation,
- 45:29Speaker 2: so Sam Waltman goes, how much longer are you in Bali? Also,
- 45:32Speaker 2: please don't post this lol, and Jake obviously posted it
- 45:37Speaker 2: because it's hilarious, and then Jake responds, Sam, I'm obviously
- 45:41Speaker 2: gonna post this.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Duh.
- 45:43Speaker 2: He goes, I leave Saturday. Why. Sam Waltman goes, lol,
- 45:46Speaker 2: I get it. What do you say? We talk face
- 45:49Speaker 2: to face, and so Jake goes, wait, hold on, let
- 45:52Speaker 2: me think, and so then he responds again and says,
- 45:56Speaker 2: I'm down for coffee. I guess Jake.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Jake says he's down for coffee.
- 46:02Speaker 2: Yep, because he had to think about it for a second.
- 46:04Speaker 2: And Sam Waltman goes, want to come to my hotel
- 46:07Speaker 2: and Jake says, no, definitely, we'll go to a public place.
- 46:11Speaker 2: So then Sam Altman sends him an address which is
- 46:14Speaker 2: blurred out, and Jake says okay, smiley face, and Sam
- 46:18Speaker 2: Waltman says, I'm blushing.
- 46:20Speaker 1: See you soon, blushing.
- 46:23Speaker 2: So then they I think they're meeting up. This is
- 46:26Speaker 2: literally from today, so I haven't gotten another update from it.
- 46:29Speaker 2: But Jake says, my flight is at seven pm, so
- 46:32Speaker 2: mornings are good, and then Sam's like, well, instead of coffee,
- 46:36Speaker 2: let's just do boba, and Jake says that's great, and
- 46:39Speaker 2: then Sam Waltman says great, I'll find a place. Can
- 46:42Speaker 2: I get your number? And Jake's like no, he said no,
- 46:50Speaker 2: it's so good, it's so funny. So that's what's left
- 46:53Speaker 2: off today. There's probably gonna be another update. We'll give
- 46:56Speaker 2: it next week or whatever. But yeah, so Samalman, Yeah,
- 47:00Speaker 2: is gay one.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Of the most powerful men in the world, like arguably
- 47:05Speaker 1: based on position and place and business.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Unfortunately, yes, but he's gay. He's trying to go after
- 47:13Speaker 2: this creator. He's probably like my age, we're a little
- 47:15Speaker 2: bit younger. He's probably like twenty seven, twenty eight or
- 47:17Speaker 2: something like that, and he is so insistent on meeting
- 47:21Speaker 2: this dude.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Does he want to kill him election?
- 47:23Speaker 2: I don't, And that's what people are like, Jake, be
- 47:26Speaker 2: careful because like what if you yeah, if he die
- 47:30Speaker 2: under mysterious circumstances.
- 47:33Speaker 1: So, yeah, you were going to have to update it.
- 47:35Speaker 2: I'm definitely going to. I just thought it was hilarious
- 47:37Speaker 2: because Jake has just been trolling the fuck out of him.
- 47:40Speaker 1: But like Sam, we can say a lot about him,
- 47:43Speaker 1: and I don't really can't comment because I don't really
- 47:45Speaker 1: know this person or his lore, but like he's got
- 47:48Speaker 1: to be smart, right, Like there has to be some
- 47:50Speaker 1: basic level of intelligence for him, like that he would
- 47:55Speaker 1: know that this is probably unwise. Yeah, why would you
- 47:59Speaker 1: need this if you're a bazillionaire. Couldn't you just find
- 48:04Speaker 1: gay guys wherever? I mean, couldn't sh just figure out
- 48:08Speaker 1: another way? Is he looking for a love connection?
- 48:11Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, I know that he is
- 48:13Speaker 2: wildly hated amongst like my generations and stuff. So maybe
- 48:16Speaker 2: it is difficult because he's like I think he's like
- 48:18Speaker 2: an elder millennial. He's like in his mid thirties, mid
- 48:20Speaker 2: toallyate thirties, so he's probably genuinely lonely and has.
- 48:24Speaker 1: No money, is a huge motivator most people.
- 48:27Speaker 2: You can get some prostitutes or whatever and you know,
- 48:30Speaker 2: kind of cracking a bill totally. And so maybe he
- 48:34Speaker 2: is looking for a love connection. But I just think
- 48:36Speaker 2: it's hilarious that, like I think you had said a
- 48:39Speaker 2: couple episodes ago from our pod, like gen Z is
- 48:43Speaker 2: like totally the disruptors, Like we are outing like all
- 48:46Speaker 2: these big companieses and we're outing all of these CEOs
- 48:48Speaker 2: and even coming for him violently a little bit.
- 48:51Speaker 1: And we still not endorse that on the Reality TV
- 48:54Speaker 1: Coach podcast.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Okay, but like, I think it's hilarious honestly, and you
- 49:00Speaker 2: should look into some Sam Altman stuff because he's a
- 49:02Speaker 2: fucked up dude. Like he does not like humans. He
- 49:05Speaker 2: does not like humanity. He's not like a altruistic and
- 49:09Speaker 2: altruistic billionaire who's creating AI for the betterment of human or.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Any altruistic billionaires.
- 49:17Speaker 2: No, I don't think so. But like he doesn't. He
- 49:20Speaker 2: doesn't go around parading like I'm creating chat GPT to
- 49:24Speaker 2: make life better, and like chat GPT has also been
- 49:27Speaker 2: linked to people on alive in themselves.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I think something recently too, like a uh homo
- 49:35Speaker 1: side situation happened because chat GPT was telling some kid
- 49:42Speaker 1: to homo side. I hate that. We can't say right now.
- 49:46Speaker 1: It's on YouTube. It is so dystopia. It's so annoying anyway,
- 49:49Speaker 1: but like, yeah, no, it's still happening.
- 49:51Speaker 2: It's super problematic. And also chat GPT is just generally
- 49:55Speaker 2: like not reliable, like it's not accurate. It is programmed
- 49:58Speaker 2: to tell you whatever you want it sech Yeah, yes,
- 50:01Speaker 2: it's horrible, and like Sam Waltman doesn't give a shit,
- 50:04Speaker 2: like he's been aware of these cases and he's been
- 50:06Speaker 2: aware of people like literally marrying chat GPT and he
- 50:10Speaker 2: doesn't care.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Is he like trying to do like transhumanism. Is he
- 50:14Speaker 1: trying to upload his consciousness to the cloud?
- 50:16Speaker 2: No, I think he wants to like off humanity.
- 50:21Speaker 1: So he's a night like. Yeah, he's horrible, nihilist.
- 50:24Speaker 2: Yeah, he's evil. He's terrible, and nobody likes him. And
- 50:27Speaker 2: I think it's funny that he's getting drolled on the internet.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Wow, I just that's amazing. I know celebrities, they're just
- 50:34Speaker 1: like us. They're losers like us. On dating apps, I guess,
- 50:37Speaker 1: and on Instagram.
- 50:39Speaker 2: What a deuep dude, it's hilarious.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Well, please let us know what happens. I will when
- 50:45Speaker 1: lovely Young Jake goes for Boba with the Monstross Sam Altman,
- 50:51Speaker 1: I can't wait. I can't wait either, good talk. I
- 50:55Speaker 1: love learning these things because like I'm just I'm in
- 50:57Speaker 1: a different algo than you are, clearly, so I'm on
- 51:01Speaker 1: gen X and boomer bullshit and I hate that. Yeah,
- 51:05Speaker 1: so then then I have to reset my algo with
- 51:07Speaker 1: huskies howling and kitties, and then I'm in like hell yeah, hell,
- 51:11Speaker 1: like as soon as you click on one of these
- 51:14Speaker 1: controversial videos or conspiracy videos, and you're just in this
- 51:18Speaker 1: other Dantean layer of confusion and hell, speaking of which
- 51:21Speaker 1: I don't know if you noticed, but gravity did not.
- 51:26Speaker 1: In fact, we kept the gravity on the twelfth of August.
- 51:33Speaker 1: It did not actually chain myself tutory. But I will
- 51:36Speaker 1: tell you I stayed indoors all day. I did too.
- 51:38Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 51:39Speaker 1: I'm not going to the safe way. Hooey, I'm not going.
- 51:41Speaker 2: To the She texted me, and she was like, make
- 51:43Speaker 2: sure you and my daughter are safe inside well.
- 51:46Speaker 1: On the off chance that we might be floating up
- 51:50Speaker 1: into space for seven full seconds or whatever. It is, Like,
- 51:53Speaker 1: I just want to protect my babies. Keep your kiddies inside. Yeah, everybody,
- 51:57Speaker 1: but I guess it's moot.
- 51:59Speaker 2: I know. I was pretty disappointed. I was wanting to
- 52:01Speaker 2: see us loose gravity.
- 52:03Speaker 1: But there was an eclipse, there was the meteor shower,
- 52:07Speaker 1: there's the lions Gate a few days before that. There's
- 52:10Speaker 1: a lot going on in the atmosphere.
- 52:12Speaker 2: There's also a lot of earthquakes happening in the world
- 52:16Speaker 2: right now that people are contributing to, like the solar
- 52:18Speaker 2: storms that we've been having because they've been so intense
- 52:21Speaker 2: and people are studying how it affects like the geo,
- 52:25Speaker 2: the tectonic plates and stuff and our geomagnetic field.
- 52:28Speaker 1: I think it's harp.
- 52:29Speaker 2: I don't think so. But there's been a lot of
- 52:31Speaker 2: fucking earthquakes like San Francisco just gone and.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Yeah, like they on the same day. Yeah, crazy times.
- 52:38Speaker 1: We are living in insane times. And my advice to
- 52:42Speaker 1: you and everybody else is like, just try to have fun. Yeah,
- 52:44Speaker 1: that's literally why we're in a dumpster making fun of
- 52:47Speaker 1: Mormons for other people on reality TV, because like, what
- 52:50Speaker 1: else are we going to do? Die frivolity and some levity.
- 52:54Speaker 1: Like I feel like this is our talent and our gifts.
- 52:58Speaker 2: This is what we get offered a little bit.
- 52:59Speaker 1: This is why we incarnated for this podcast for such
- 53:03Speaker 1: a time as this. Okay, guys, do you like these
- 53:07Speaker 1: little conversations that we have. Should we put it in
- 53:10Speaker 1: like a totally separate video maybe if that makes sense
- 53:13Speaker 1: if people want to like index the Sister Wives stuff alone, Like,
- 53:16Speaker 1: let us know what you'd think because I like talking
- 53:19Speaker 1: period me too.
- 53:21Speaker 2: You know.
- 53:21Speaker 1: We should also do a speak pipe again. We have
- 53:23Speaker 1: people call in because we always ask about Perez Hilton
- 53:26Speaker 1: and we just asked about Ariana Grande and did you
- 53:28Speaker 1: hear about Sam Altman? And also what are y'all thinking
- 53:31Speaker 1: about sister wives and stuff? Yeah, let's offer it because
- 53:34Speaker 1: I'd like to hear from our raccoon friends. All you
- 53:37Speaker 1: gotta do is go to speakpipe dot com slash reality
- 53:41Speaker 1: TV Cringe. You have up to ninety seconds to sound
- 53:45Speaker 1: off queen or king and let us know what you
- 53:48Speaker 1: think about whatever, and then we'll check it and then
- 53:50Speaker 1: maybe we'll play it and we'll respond to it. It'll
- 53:52Speaker 1: be like it'll be like a party in the dump store.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Is there anything else that we need to say before
- 53:56Speaker 1: we get up on out of here? Girl?
- 53:58Speaker 2: Well, if you love us, please do us a favorite
- 54:00Speaker 2: Go to your favorite podcast platform and leabose glowing five
