- Revisitation Rightspod: Welcome to the Revisitation Rights Podcast. I'm Pat. I'm Brandon. I'm Justin. Yo, you you know what we gotta do? We gotta try to Photoshop, ⁓ you know, do a little after effect so the mouth moves. I'm Brandon. ⁓ whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Damn, you couldn't even bring a light with you? I'm I'm I'm in my my childhood home, so this is week two in a row of ⁓ traveling and still doing the podcast. Commitments. Let me set up a booklight I'm gonna set up a booklight for you real quick. Hold on. Alright. I'm interested for this one. For Pat. For me. Yeah. Well, I've seen this before. Nah, but you know, your ⁓ cartoon ⁓ anime. ⁓ Anime. No no no. Anime, not animation. I like animation. I don't like anime. There's this difference. I'm not a big anime, but I do like Baki. Baki is a good one. I do like that one. For anime. This isn't the vegetable? ⁓ it's Bok Choi. Yeah. It's Bok Choi. Which I would think, Pat, you would really actually enjoy anime because the stories are so good. The writing is so interesting. Yeah, stories are really good actually. See, the thing is no rule number one is it has to be entertaining and that's not the kind of shit that entertains me. We got some anime on here on the top two fifty, so maybe it'll change mind. I ha I haven't actually ⁓ no, there definitely is. I haven't looked at I I wanted to be surprised, so I haven't looked at the two fifty. Yeah. That's gonna suck. Unfortunately, Dragon Ball's eating on there, but you know, can't win them all. All right, well, today we're doing Toy Story three, released in twenty ten, currently ranked ninety four with a score of eight point three, has a ⁓ A combined rotten tomato score in 94. That's not 30 years old, so we don't have to do inflation. So with a production budget of 200 million. Jesus Christ. Earning a little over a billion one billion. One billion dollars at the box office. And the log line for Toy Story 3 are the toys are mistakenly delivered to a Daycare center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and return home. Written by a whole slew slew of writers. Michael Arnt, John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Lee Uncrich, Mark Andrews, David Reynolds, and Justin Wright. I don't think I could write with more than one other person. How there was eight writers on there, it's crazy. ⁓ directed by Lee Uncrich. Starring Tom Hanks, Tim Halland, Joan Cusack, and with the list just going on and on and on and on of famous ⁓ actors and voice actors. So number eighty thr ⁓ number ninety three, do we agree that it's ⁓ would be a top a hundred film? Actually. Before before we get into that, do we think it's the where do we rank it in the Toy Story saga? So there's been what? ⁓ four Toy Story movies, one or two Buzz Lightyear movies. There was like one back in the day, right? It wasn't like a It was like a the woke buttons like year movie. The Who? It was Woke. I never I actually never watched it when it's like year movie. Yeah, people were pissed when that shit came out. Really? I did hear about that, yeah. They're like, ⁓ I'm never gonna go watch Disney movies again. ⁓ they're pushing the agenda. Nah. I don't know. I feel like my favorite I feel like my favorite one is always gonna be the first one. So that's everybody's seen all of them, right? Aside from Buzz Lightyear. So the main four. I haven't seen four. I didn't see four, but I saw the first three. All right. So how would you rank three in the in the trilogy? Last. Really? Yeah. Really? I would put it in second. I'll put one, three, and then two. Yeah, I mean I I have nostalgia for number two, and by the time the third one came out, I don't remember when I first saw it, but like I was out at that point I was kinda capped out on Disney movies. So see, I I know I know you're big on like emotion and you need to feel stuff from movies. We often but nah you gotta be entertained number one. So first and foremost, without the nostalgia, where would you put two? Cause I have it actually three, one, two. I think really? Yeah. That's taking nostalgia out because obviously, you know, the first one is always gonna be, you know, a favorite because, you know, it was something completely different at the time and you know, great film. But I it taking all that aside, I think I would put three. I think it was the perfect they should have ended at three. I I don't I don't want to say four was trash because I'm not allowed to say trash on the podcast, but it wasn't good. It was like a stark difference from three. So I I would say two is probably my least favorite of them, which I still I still love two. But yeah, because I'm looking at it now. That that's when he got ⁓ taken to the ⁓ like collectible shop or something like that, right? So four was it was weird. It was spoiler alert, spoiler alert. No, I'm not gonna spoil it. It was weird, it was very like not it didn't feel like a toy story movie. Like the characters were completely different. Like it was just it just didn't feel like a toy story movie. And I don't know if you've read the synopsis for five, but it would it would be a probably should have what four should have been. Where, you know, a lot a digital kind of takes over from kids from toys, like this fucking iPad generation and all that shit. So that's what five, the storyline for five is gonna be, which should have been four and four should have never been made. Kind of, but it was just completely different. But ta I think taking everything like nostalgia and everything out, I think three was the best 'cause it was the perfect ending to a trilogy. I worst. I can't say shit because I never saw a Star Wars. Both trilogies, actually. Both of them. I I do like how three ended. It ended, it was a nice, happy ending. Even the soldiers stopped by. They were like, yo, it's good, man. The soldiers got a little got a little salute from the soldiers. Ken Dawa was like, yo, bro! It's you. ⁓ but yeah, I you know, it just the way like You know how it transitioned, like, you know, Andy's done, Andy's going to school and he didn't wanna you would you would think he would give the toys to like his sister. But instead went to the ⁓ The what do call it? The girl. The the daycare's d ⁓ woman's daughter? Because she was playing with the toys. She was playing with the toys the correct way. So I I I thought like, you know, the just the you know, kind of, you know, give to the next generation kind of thing was ⁓ was a nice way to end it. It's crazy how the toys planned out an entire mission to like all go to her to the little girl's house and the and th the humans had no idea. So did you have have you read any like ⁓ Toy Story Theories. There were definitely innuendos in there. They cleaned it up. Not not the innuendos, but like the the what do you call it? Like the ⁓ like those you know how the internet always does some kind of weird ⁓ Like lore theory? Yeah, like lore theories on you know, it was all a dream and all that kind of shit. No, I haven't. So one of ⁓ was like ⁓ I believe it was ⁓ ⁓ it was like an Andy's I don't want to say it was like Andy's deathbed or something. I d I don't remember some of ⁓ I wrote ⁓ down, but I ⁓ Yeah, it was some dark some dark shit which I really enjoyed. But I I wrote them down, but for some reason I ⁓ I did not bring my ⁓ my little notepad in the room with me, so I don't want to go get ⁓ Which has all my notes on it too, but Whatever. I think the dogs might have ⁓ taken my notepad and brought it outside. But so how many times have you watched the ⁓ the Toy Story trilogy? I've seen one probably countless times. Two I've seen like maybe two times. And then the third one I've seen like same thing like two, three times. I would have to r I would have to think about that because I haven't seen the second one in forever, but I actually had the VHS. I remember getting one year for Christmas. I got like a VHS in my room and then I got Toy Story Two. And then I got like this little kind of gaming couch. So I was just playing the hell out of that shit. And then obviously like growing up in grade school, hey, we don't want to teach the kids today, put on Toy Story. Put it on. Put it on. Really? In school in school? Yes. Hmm. I took a I took a bootlap copy of I Am Legend to school once and we just did in math class and we didn't do shit that entire episode, that entire day. Damn man, I had I am legend in school everything. Yeah. My my math teachers is like, ⁓ you got it? Popped it in. Whole class was silent. Meanwhile, I have pop quizzes. We used to play spades in class too. What? I am when did I am legend come out? ⁓ two thousand eight. Like two thousand seven, two thousand eight. Damn, and you were in school? What grade? I ain't no high school? Second grade. Second grade. Second grade. Shit. God damn. So let's see. So to it came out in two thousand eight. Shit, I definitely saw it in the movie theater. And I'm trying to think where So I was like twenty seven, twenty eight? Second grade. God damn. 'Cause this ⁓ like this is this is this is like one of those movies where I meant it's more like my generation than the two of you. So it was definitely in constant rotation at birthday parties, ⁓ sleepovers, and then ⁓ you know, as we started to age, by the time I think the third one came out, we were the same around the same age as Andy. So we weren't really watching that. Like at that age, I think we were actually were watching me and my friends were watching anime. And reality T V, ⁓ T V, Road Rules, Rural, like that was kind of the stuff that we were kinda into. So it wasn't really marketed to us. So I guess they had a kind of pivot on their demographic, their target of who, hey, we gotta pitch this movie differently because when we started it, those people have kind of outgrown these movies and we were too young to have kids to be able to take them to actually like watch Toy Story at that point. I mean, hopefully I would think so. But you know, unfortunately some people did end up having kids during the time period. So None my business. You you were watching them on ⁓ T V. Yeah. Yeah. Dang. That's rough. Yeah. I was Was it two thousand eight came out? No, it's came out in twenty ten. Twenty ten I mean, I'm sorry. ⁓ that's when you were born then? ⁓ Yeah, I was born in ninety eight. ⁓ before two thousand. Look at that. Damn, I graduated high I graduated high school before you were born. I was the Andy Milanopis kid then. Maybe, maybe, maybe because I graduated in the summertime because I was a degenerate. I grew up watching ⁓ Andy Milanakis after some time. Damn, I feel sorry for you. Nah, those were golden MTV days, man. Shit. Nah, you got you guys weren't were you did they show music videos on MTV at that point? Yeah, they still did. They still not to the not to the variety that they did back. Not as much like the nineties. But more mainstream stuff, I guess. Hmm. But there'd be some pretty tough bands that they would play. Yo, who's this? I'm trying to think. So I think I think number three, I've only seen this will probably be my second or third time. ⁓ I remember watching four back to back. I saw it in the movie theater. Wow. And then I was like, nah, that something wasn't right. And then when it came out on on streaming, I was like, yeah, it was that bad. And then I I never I never watched four again, but I've seen one I don't know, maybe a dozen times. He said, damn, it is that bad. You guys remember I'm never touching this film again. Do you guys like remember like one and two, like the plot and the synopsis and everything? Or 'cause that my memory is I don't know if I'm getting old, but I kinda remember. I I remember I remember one pretty vividly. Two not as much. Yeah, same. So this was on the time. And and Pat since Justin was a kid when well, I don't think he was born when the first one came out. No, he wasn't he wasn't born. I came out, I believe, in I w I was still in high school, so I believe I think it came out in like ninety six or ninety seven. Yeah. Something like that. Did you ever get any of the toys when they had ⁓ at like McDonald's or anything? So ⁓ this is a not a story for this kind of podcast, but I wasn't allowed to eat fast food when I was young. It's not a bad thing. So ⁓ we didn't really unless it was like a birthday party, my mom wouldn't ⁓ you know, no fast food. Well, number one, because we couldn't afford it. And number two, because it was just she she was she was big on ⁓ you know, regular food, not processed, not fast food, shit like that. So We got those biceps. I guess smart though, man. Well the I mean we had a lot of pizza. So the only thing she really you know Italian my mom was Italian, so we did do ⁓ pizza. So no Chinese food, no I think I had like Chinese food two or three times as a kid. And I think I've only had it ⁓ just with Melissa because she likes it. I don't like Chinese food. So maybe ten times, fifteen times as an adult. But it was j just strictly pizza. So I didn't really have I didn't get those happy meal toys as a kid. I never I never really got any of that, unfortunately. Yeah, so I do so I I did have a buzz light year toy, like the you know, you press the buttons and it would light up and you could flip the like the screen up and down for his helmet and then I had like a squishy one and then I had a woody I had a woody toy as a fucking childish. I'm sorry. So continue. I couldn't know I couldn't help it. I had those toys because back I'm not sure if you remember Pat 'cause you also used to live down here in Altamont for a little bit in in Florida. But do you remember when that Disney store was at Altamont Mall was inside the store? So I lived there for Six months. Again, not a story for this podcast, but when my brother got out of jail, I went to stay with him in Florida for six months because he needed family down there, quote unquote. ⁓ so it was the six months in Altamont. I think I went to that mall like three times. Cause it was a little far of ⁓ other side of Altamont, probably you were saying. I I well all I remember it was we were right on the border. There was like some train tracks and it was like a walk. Like we came out of the the apartment complex, made ⁓ so if I'm coming out of the complex, you make a right and it was like publics and hooters. That was and then it was like in the little shopping center. I know where you're cause I used to go to that hooters every now and then. It was that those wings were fire. But at Outs My Mall, they used to have this huge Disney store and I just remember always like going past it, trying to get my mom to go in there, and they would just have all these toys. It was just a beautiful thing as a kid growing up in Florida. Obviously, because that was when Disney was really at their peak, because I believe it was like ninety or ninety one when ⁓ I forgot which park, but it was like Walt Disney World. They had like a new park that just opened up the rise. Like it was it was a it was the most amazing time to grow up in this state, I think, as a kid with all the theme parks. But they had the Disney source. I do remember kind of finally as a kid going in there, trying to look at the Toy Story, ⁓ toys. There was like a Latin tour that I always wanted my mom would never freaking buy. ⁓ But yeah, I think that's where she ended up getting me the ⁓ buzz light year and woody woody toys. And I think I like sleep with them and stuff. You didn't steal it? No. At one time I couldn't I couldn't go. I couldn't go. ⁓ like my parents were pretty like strict. So I couldn't like I wasn't able to start doing things with my friends, so I think I maybe like seventeen or eighteen. So like they wouldn't even let me go to the mall to hang out on Fridays. So if I was at the mall, I was with them. I'm trying to think, you know, 'cause I remember I went in like ⁓ no, it was after nine eleven. So it was two thousand two. I went. That was when it started to go down. I remember because it was ⁓ I th I thought it was I thought it was like ⁓ April ⁓ one, but it was April ⁓ two. Cause I remember when I came back, I wound up ⁓ getting a job at Bally's Fitness. But it was ⁓ yeah, so it was definitely O2 ⁓ in Altamont. But and so I've never been to Disney and I know you're growing up around there. How many times have you actually been to Disney? So today, if if when people tell me, obviously, because you know I live in New York and people assume that Disney is by me, because I'm like, I live in Orlando, and I tell them it's fucking on site if I see them. Number one. Number two, Disney is not in Orlando proper, it's actually in Kissimmee. So it's about forty-five minutes to maybe like an hour and a half from me because of the traffic and all the fucking New York transplants moving down here. But we used to go to Disney all the time as kids. They go to Tampa Chat. No, we're in a group chat and everyone's talking about ⁓ I want to move to Florida, I want to move Florida. Not Orlando though. Tampa like around Tampa. Like away from Tampa too. Yeah, but you also realize that everyone who's moving down here with the salaries are the reason why the cost of living is going up so much here. Yeah, it's fine. Stay up here, you know, New York's the greatest, you know, greatest city in the world. You know, stay up here and enjoy that shit. Yeah, but when you've been here for forty five years, it kind of, you know. Once in New Yorker, I in New Yorker, right? You can't you know what it is? It's the cold, man. The cold, my body can't handle the cold anymore. And I used to be like T shirts and shorts in the winter. You like me. But now, no. Like I I I bought a coat for the first time this year. That's crazy, 'cause you always have hoodies on anytime it's cold and we're doing any type of shoots. Yeah. And I ha I wound up buying a coat. Yeah, I'm a hoodie. I'm a hoodie and thermals guy right now. I feel that. You know, like two, three thermals and and a nice hoodie. I'm solid. I mean, I would have mine on today too, but it's like eighty degrees outside. It's like perfect. It's sunny. Fuck off. So I just got back from the beach today. So ⁓ but yeah we used to go to Disney a lot as kids because also used to be much more affordable than what it is now. I think it's like 130 a pop per person to go now. Plus parking per day? Per park. I think per park. I think if you do like a mo I think if you do like a mo like all the parks inclusive, I think it might be like four fifty something around there. And then so you have the the the park pass plus parking, which is maybe what forty, fifty bucks plus food. If you're getting souvenirs, like you're easily just dropping that's that's your vacation if you have kids and you're taking them to something. It's like don't ask for shit. So I've I've been to Universal in LA and you know we were we were smart about it. Like we didn't want to go on a weekend, so we went while school was going on, we went on like a Wednesday morning. So we were in and we did a good portion of the park before it really started getting any kind of crowded. So we were able to do like the bigger stuff in the beginning and then save the the stuff that you know people kind of because you know in in the one in LA it kind of goes like you know, certain it kinda does a circle. So you start here and then you kinda it's the easiest way to do it. So we went we did that as soon as we got there. And by the time people started coming in, we were like halfway through. So it was it's it's time to go. Yeah, it was no, it was good. We were able to finish. We didn't have to wait in line for anything. So it was ⁓ real smart. And then we were thinking about doing Disney. And then ⁓ one of the one of the guys there was like, nah don't he was like no matter no matter When you go, he's You can't plan it like you can Universal. No. He's like, Universal, you did right. He's You can't do the same thing at Disney. He's like, You can go on a Tuesday morning on any holiday, and he's like, It's jam-packed. Yeah. Yeah. He's like, You also he's he's like, if you go in, he's like, make sure you s you extend your trip another week and just do it. If you go right now, it's packed. Yeah, like literally. Well, I mean it's gonna be packed. If you go like for the rest of the year because you have spring break. And then it's essentially summer here because I mean like what I just said it's 80 degrees. So May is next month, summertime. And then you have what the Yeah, does it doesn't start? You have Mickey's not so it ends in May next month. ⁓ so yeah. So then you have like the Mickeys not so scary in the fall, and then you have like the Christmas stuff with like lights, you know. So people are doing that like year round. But I know like universal you actually can buy like express passes and you can use them anywhere. And I believe with Disney they kinda change that system where it's like a some type of light lane to where you have to like reserve your time if you buy for express when like a block for when you are on the rides. So you be on the other side of the park and then your phone on the app will say, Hey, by the way, your reservation is starting for buzz light year or frozen. So you gotta get to the other side of the park and then you have to get with between that window to take that ride. Hmm. Growing up is realizing Disney is just trash. Disney's just back in the day was back in the day was really good. Like I said, growing up here during that time period when ⁓ Universal had just opened and Disney was expanding. Like I I think I remember when Animal Kingdom first opened up, it was a great experience. Like that, and then also just the mom and pop ⁓ attractions that were all up and down International Drive. And then obviously like after nine eleven. The economy got hit. So people weren't traveling here as much. So businesses started to shutter. And then you just start start to see Disney and Universal start to expand and buy up those small properties and close some of those more affordable things down. Because back then you could go down International Drive, you could have all like this spot, that spot, this spot, Skull Kingdom, Wet and Wild. And they were like pretty affordable. I meant wet and wild what? Like 40, I think it was like 70 bucks a year for a water park. That had all these rides that you could just spend the summer there. Especially if you if you didn't have money. I mean, that would have been a thing to keep the kids out of the house, keep the kids like occupied. But obviously, I think I don't know what the yearly price is for Disney, but I believe my friend who lives here, she had it and she has two kids and they gotta be twenty or thirty grand, I would assume. I think it's maybe close to like five K. This is college tuition? Per year. That seems college tuition. Like a steal. I mean, I could I could ask her, but don't quote me. But I mean, but then you also gotta go through the the the traffic to get down there. I mean you're stuck there for maybe like 30, 40 minutes just to get in the park. I mean, we gotta get back to the show, but do they have like a shuttle? Like if you stay at like a like a Disney, I guess, sponsored hotel, can you just hop in a shuttle and they have their own express lane or something? Yeah, so they do that in the trap. Yeah, they have intentionally to where they have all the ⁓ hotels on the property so that you don't have to go outside. So that helps. Yeah, I mean that seems like a smart play. See, I w I was I was thinking about it. I was actually thinking about it because we're we're going to Florida in a couple of weeks and ⁓ it it's it's a little far from Orlando. It's like an hour and something. But I was like, maybe we'll we could do, you know, like not Disney but like Universal or something Try like a the new park. Like along those lines, but yeah. If I'm if I'm driving down to Florida, I don't want to do any driving while I'm there. So I I don't I don't wanna drive ninety minutes and then you know, me me and traffic. Yeah, this traffic down here is insane. I mean I've you know, I've lived my life on a LAE and in the Van Wick. There's no traffic like the Fairwick. So, you know, I'd rather not if I don't have to. The the annual is ⁓ seventeen hundred pretty much. That's it. See that? I thought it would be like twenty grand. Per person though. So if you have a family, then it adds up really quickly. So then it's and they have like a thumbprint. Right. They have a thumbprint. So your your shit's registered. So you don't have a car, you just do this, and then that's how they know that. You're you. That's how they got you in the Disney system after that. Fingerprint. Yeah. Biometrics. Eyescanners. Yeah. All right. Just bad. So would you back back to the show? Would you would you consider Toy Story 3 a top hundred film? ⁓ because it is ranked number 93, right? So it's hard to. ⁓ ninety-four, sorry. It was ranked on ninety-four. So that's right. That's kinda like right on the border. Probably probably with everything included, like the writing, the development, you know, with in the characters and stuff like that. Probably. but I mean, I'm always just gonna have a personal bias of the first one. But I I will say like everything, you know, the fact that it's like a nice sh what should have been the perfect ending to kinda like the Toy Story series. or at least for that time. I think it's fair maybe if it was like ninety six, ninety seven. Yeah, I I guess it's properly rated. It can't be any worse than Clockwork Orange. I I do think it would I do think it was better than Clockwork Orange. As a as a I mean not as a film, you know, because Clockwork Orange technically was Beautiful. Was very d very well done technically. ⁓ and animation I kind of always knock it down a point or two. Wow, why? ⁓ For the director purposes, not not for like direction and you know, all that kind of purposes. ⁓ I judge it separately. Like I would judge the animation on its own kind of thing. So like a lot of a lot of animation has been really bad f since like since like twenty twenty. Like it you know what it is? Like sometimes the animation in the in something is really great. But then the movie sucks. Or then sometimes the movie's really great and the animation sucks. Like it's there hasn't really been like a real good combination of both. Like Hoppers. I really liked Hoppers this year so far. It was it was an like goat. Goat was trash ⁓ I can't say trash. Goat was ⁓ bad. So it was definitely made for you know, and it wasn't made for my ⁓ my demographic, but like it was definitely made for those iPad kids. Because it it felt like a fucking music video with like really bad Gen Z writing. Should have hired Justin. Or for the cut for editing at least. I don't know. I think even Justin probably would have had like some kind of seizure from it. Like it was literally like they're fast paced cutting and like you couldn't there was nothing like redeemable about it. But Hoppers was really good. But that was like the best Pix I think Hoppers was probably the best Pixar movie since probably Soul. And Soul came out in what? Like twenty one? Maybe twenty two? Something like that. And Soul wasn't even like I mean it was good, but it wasn't like, you know, previous Pixar. You know, it wasn't as good as like previous Pixar films. You like Coco? I like Coco, but that came out before Soul, I believe. Okay. I'm I think I think I I'm giving dates and I think I think Coco came out before COVID. I think their best work hands down is probably like finding Nemo. Which there's you you don't like Nemo? Everybody likes Nemo. Your boy Will Smith. The turtles? You don't like the turtles? The surf the surf turtles? That was I mean, that was also kind of around the period where I would you know I kind of switched over to anime, so I wasn't really He was too cool for school. Yeah, I wasn't really into like that goofy, like that just overly over the top goofiness. Damn, so I'm 30 years old watching this. He's calling me goofy. That's fucked up. Yeah. So Toy Story 3 came out when I was like 30. And I'm fucking goofy. He's too cool with anime. But when Toy Story Three came out, it wasn't like, ⁓ my gosh, I gotta go see it because I grew up watching Toy Story. I was like, yeah. See, and like I jumped to the theater for Toy Story 4 too. I I think at that point, around the time that this came out, that was when I kind of started to really transition and get into horror. So anything that was in that that that category, I was just, I gotta go see it. Well, around that time I was watching Family Guy. At that age difference. I mean, if you really want to look at it, this is probably the darkest Toy Story. For sure. Yeah. So, like you the incinerator scene where there kind of felt like an Indiana Jones type of scene for kids? Yo, why am I sad right now? I was like, why did this bear just switch up on them? Fucking Lotto. Yeah, bro. And like he's bear. Listen, Lotso was a good villain. For any movie. Like he was a good villain. Especially for like an animation. They all accepted ⁓ my gosh. And then the aliens saved them. They were like Rain. Claw Wow. So two part question. ⁓ do you guys do you guys do is there any toy that you all remember as a kid growing up that you wish that you still had? I so I didn't really have many toys. Like we had a couple of like He Man. We had a couple of like Thundercats. ⁓ But it was more like hand me down stuff, right? Because ⁓ obviously like there was like six of us before my little brother well, five of us before my little brother came. So, you know, everybody's in one apartment. So I was like I'm We can't get anything new for me. So I was getting whatever my brother got. And we're talking like if they saved it and it was toys from like fifteen years or fifteen years before. So there w there wasn't many toys. I got like some He Man, some Thundercats, ⁓ some like, you know, play cars and stuff and ⁓ those little like in Toy Story, like those little army guys. Like those. A couple of those too. That was that was pretty much it. It was other than that, it was get outside and go play. Think about my old Fast and Furious cars, man. Damn. Damn. ⁓ he said old Fast and Furious cars. Bro, the first movie, I had the whole lineup. You know the first race? I had the RX7. I had the Civic. I had both Civics. I had the Integra. I had the clip. ⁓ my god. I had the whole race lineup. Who had the Integra? Was it Ja Rule that had the Integra? Yeah. No. But yeah, so I mean I if you really look at it, like this Toy Story was more of an adult it was more made for adults than kids. I think three. Because it was it kind of felt like cloth like a closure type of like a closure type of film. It felt like one of those movies where like both the parents and the kids could enjoy the movie. Whereas like maybe the first one they're the parents are like Are you enjoying it? That's why you gotta get baked. You get baked before you take your kids to the movie theater. God, they're like I like the aliens. That's devious. ⁓ my That's that's definitely some Florida shit. Florida Man. Yeah. Florida man drives bait with his kids to go see Toy Story. Well there's one thing that I I kinda was thinking about watching this movie where Andy at the end he gives the toys to the little girl and I'm thinking in my head, okay, what he's eighteen, I'm assuming, at this age. Mm-hmm. And I'm thinking, well usually by that time, you know, because toys also have like phases, so I was also thinking how are those toys, I guess, like still kind of like relevant because I believe when Toy Story One, when you know Buzz Lightyear was bought, like it was all over the ⁓ in the store. So you saw all these different Buzz Lightyears. So I was like, would he still have been relevant like you know seventeen, eighteen, whatever years later in this movie? So what was it? It was ⁓ so Andy was what, like eight or nine? When he first got like Buzz and Woody and well Woody he got when he was younger, right? So when Buzz came in, he was what, eight or nine? I believe. Something around that. And then so ten years later he's going to college. I mean, you know, back then things didn't have the lifespan that it did now. You know, they they lasted, you know, at at least a couple years. Yeah. You know, nowadays you buy something and two weeks later You know, it it's trash. Do kids really play with toys anymore today? In that aspect that it was portrayed in at least like Toy Story One. ⁓ And so I have like two eight-year-old nephews, like twins. ⁓ they kind of play with toys, but not like that. Like they I guess they're more into like sports and stuff like that. And like they don't really play like We used to. Like we had to use our imagination to play. Like, you know, you're setting up army guys here and just like in Toy Story where she's, you know, the little kids playing and like that's really how you had to play with toys back then. You had to use your imagination. Now everything is on that fucking tablet, you know. Taking away the imagination. Yeah. Yeah, create It's like a mix 'cause my my ⁓ one of my boys, he has two kids. He has both he has a daughter. She's young she's younger. And then he has a son. ⁓ he's like seven or eight or something like that. He he runs around a lot more. ⁓ if he plays games, like he'll play like 2K or like some type of fighting game or like I don't know, something like Tekken or something. Or like Street Fighter. ⁓ but Or he'll play with like the the the tac decks, the mini skateboards. He'll play with stuff like that. And then she's on the iPad a little more. But she also kinda like plays with the Tac Dex too. ⁓ she does have like her little toys set up where like there are kind of toys that she does play with. So it's like a mix. Yeah, I've seen little like ⁓ No, friends, kids and everything, like ten, eleven year old girls, they have way more toys. Like doll not toys, but like dolls and you know, things like that. But I I haven't seen like I mean Toy Stores went out of business, so that should pretty much tell you Amazon, Walmart. Amazon, Walmart, Target. It's not the s it's not you know, you don't so like we used to go to Toys R Us for fun. ⁓ my gosh. Yeah, bro. I used to miss Toys R Us, bro. You know, we go for fun. Like we couldn't buy anything, but we would go and play with w all the shit they had open and sell anything. Is there any open at all? No, it's ⁓ you know, you're outside of the the rules, you you're outside of that that's of course. And you know what's funny? I don't ⁓ it's about outside the the time period, right? So yeah. ⁓ how we got Nintendo. So you know, we we lived in a Toys R Us right now. No, the website, right? But there's no stores. Physical br ⁓ brick and mortar. So my broth my sister used to work at Toys R Us. In But a cry, man, damn. So my brother when Nintendo came out, you know how back in the day you used to, if you wanted to buy like a video game or something from Toys of Rush, you had to take that little tag from in front of it. You had to bring it to the register. They pay it, you take the receipt, and then you go to like a diff a different room. Well, over here, it was there was no unlock. So you had to take a little ticket from a game or a console, whatever, take that ticket to the register, it had like a barcode. And then you would take your receipt and you would go around back of the store. And there was like a door. And then you would have to like get it from there. So my sister used to work that room. And my bro my brother threatened her for Nintendo out of the room. So my brother wound up like hopping the thing, getting the Nintendo with a receipt for like a you know, whatever toy. And that's how we got a Nintendo. We were the only family in the building to have a Nintendo. The the original or the original. The original. Okay. So this was like 85, I believe, 85, 86. Woof. So we we were playing. So we there was like, you know, we probably had like a dozen or two kids. You know, they used to come up to the house every day. My mom used to get pissed and throw everybody out. But we were playing my laptop screen was probably like the size of our TV at this point. So everybody's playing these fucking Mario, Donkey Kong, ⁓ Tetris, I think there was like ⁓ Duck Hunt. No, no seg. It was just Nintendo. ⁓ Duck Hunt on this little baby black and white TV. That was for years we played like that. But now you can never like there there's no there's no stores and shit. So it's not like you can go and like try something out. And like I see people buying toys now, but they keep ⁓ in the package and they save it for they think it's gonna be worth money. So like these kids aren't these kids aren't playing with toys anymore, unfortunately. And that ties directly into movies, which is why movies suck. There's no creativity. I gotta I got a Vegeta here. ⁓ actually here I have that. I have my Super Nintendo. I even have my I can bring out a little bit, but I have my like my teddy bear that I got when I was a kid that used to sleep with every day. Like I never so that was probably that's probably the only toy that I never got rid of. And actually recently, 'cause I have a five year old niece and my mom was trying to give my teddy bear. I was like, No, you can never mine. Yeah. So that was your that was your Woody? Yeah. Get her own, get get her own toy. Excuse me, mine. It's got slobber and you know, it's got memories on it and stuff. ⁓ no not not like that. Not like that. Not like that. All right. So what you guys have a Toy Story hot take? ⁓ I I I I don't want to do mine first. Mine gets a little They're all possessed, kinda like in the sense that Chucky's possessed. The toys? Yeah. But they're good, not evil, right? Like Chucky's evil. Chucky Chucky was talking to Satan literally before he transformed. I don't know. I don't really have like a a crazy cra I mean I mean, I don't know if it's a hot take. The first is always gonna be the best one. I mean that's like you know every trilogy, everybody always, you know, the first, the first, the first. Except for what? The Godfather? Die Hard Star Wars. ⁓ fuck Star Wars. That's not a real trilogy. Yeah. ⁓ Like real trilogies, you like the Godfather. That's a real trilogy. ⁓ come on. Come on. beyond our time and space. Star Wars is better than the Godfather trilogy. I I really ⁓ shut your mouth. I r I really, really hope there's no Star Wars on the two fifty. They are all three of them are. All three of Then Godfather I don't know. Well, the Godfather three does definitely does not belong on the top two fifty. There's no way. But if one and two aren't in the top twenty, that's fucking criminal. Can't really think of like a hot take. I mean it I just kind of felt under ⁓ maybe a little underwhelming. For three? I think so. I mean if if you're if we're even thinking about it starting what ninety five, ninety six, two thousand eight. This point's just ⁓ a cash cow. But now they're almost at number five, which as you said earlier, that one actually translates better than I would have to go back and watch four, but You see all the time. I'm sure you see subway drawing at restaurants and kids are just kind of just all over the place and you the kids, the parents don't wanna give them attention, so they just hit here. You give a tablet in front of them and they just get silent and it's like i you're taking the attention away and they're just kind of like brain fog you know, you're giving them them this brain fog of just we're just gonna give them blue lights and just pressing buttons and When we would when we would go to rest when we would go to ⁓ restaurants, what do they give kids? They would give us like a coloring book and crayons and we will color before the food came to kind of keep us in check. And I I I haven't gone to a restaurant with a kid in a while outside of my niece, so I don't know if that's like a thing that they still do. Some Because even now 'cause even now most restaurants they don't even have like menus, everything is like, you know, QR codes. Even at that, yeah. Some some do. We actually went ⁓ couple weekends ago and ⁓ the nephews came and they had like ⁓ I don't know if maybe maybe the parents brought the crayons in the coloring book but they they weren't given an iPad which is great but yeah I think people are more they're more aggressive on changing that now even though it's becoming easier I feel like people are becoming more aware like Don't raise an iPad kid. Yeah, because they're little fucking pricks. You know, we people have felt some of the effects of iPad kids growing up, you know. Some of my friends like you know, just being teachers and and seeing the effects of like really just you know, just giving them an iPad and saying, Enjoy the rest of your entire day. It's like Yes. You need actual mental stimulation to learn things actually, not just seeing things through an iPad. You know? You gotta use all your senses. Almost to a extent. Fuck them kids. But it's it's all of us to an extent, right? 'Cause we have phones. I I I know you guys don't watch documentaries, but ⁓ there's one on Netflix called I think ⁓ the social experiment or something, and it just talks about the damage of phones and like social media and how it it's ⁓ yeah. ⁓ connecting growth ⁓ I was enjoying my team out with sidekick. Yeah. But I was also getting in the pool with the sidekick in my pocket and I'm like, ⁓ my sidekick. But there's a difference because Justin, you grew up with cell phones and me and Pat didn't. No, I mean I got my first cell phone I'd say at twenty six. ⁓ Pat, what would happen when you like, Hey, we're gonna meet somewhere? You just like hey, we're gonna meet there, and then you just expect that person to be there. Yeah. Pretty much. We had to make plans previously and be like, all right, you know, because I mean we only had a few a few different places. It was the park, the seven train, or you know, it's wherever we had, it was like, you know, you were gonna meet you there, and then it was pretty much set, you know. So if you're not if you're not there by let's say everybody's meeting at four. If you're not there by ten after four, you better walk back home. Because we're leaving. But we we walked everywhere. You know, it was walking and then ⁓ you know the ⁓ I mean when we were young, young, it was a lot of like stealing bikes. So it was like, you know, your you would steal a bike, your bike would get stolen. Like it was just you know that that that's how it was. Yeah, that I mean that's how it was. Like you everyone's just stealing each other's bikes and they're just cycling through the neighborhood. Yeah. I mean 'cause cause think about I where I grew up it was one, two, three, four, five, six buildings. And you had to kind of unless you put your bike in your house like you brought your bike in your house. There was like ⁓ there was downstairs where kids put their bikes and stuff like that. So it was pretty much you just you go downstairs, you get your bike. There was no bike. Like, all right, I'm just taking this bike and I'm going. And so that that's pretty much how it was. And then we would ride sh we ride everywhere. I think we we rode Brooklyn from Queens. We went to We've gone everywhere with bikes. Like everywhere. But that that's how it was. Like we weren't inside, we weren't none of that. But I don't know. I got homies doing that now. They they ditched their car for a minute to to experience that. They'll they'll they sold their car, bought a bike, and then whatever money they made from selling the car, they'll just hold it to if they need to buy a car again, they'll buy it. But yeah, He lives in Brooklyn and he's like Brooklyn leaning towards Queens and he's like biking to like Lower East Side. Because there's bike, there's bike lanes. Yeah. Yeah, it's much easier. Much more bike friendly nowadays. Yeah. ⁓ still not scared friendly. hate me. They hate me. I mean they hate my bike. I think I remember Again, I I I think Since me and you and Pat are a little closer in age, you know, that was a thing where we were outside. Yeah, we're the same generation. We're new. Nowhere close. Allegedly. ⁓ You know, we would go outside and and sometimes you come in and get water. And then, you know, mom would be like, Are you saying in or saying out? And it's like, damn, I want to stay out, but I know if I come back in, I gotta stay in. So, you know, we're drinking like water out of like the faucet hose. And then we would like ride bikes and you would see everyone's bike was in someone's yard. So you would know that's where everyone was. And even when I got a little older, you would hop on the phone and saying, Hey, we're gonna to the mall, we're gonna go to the movies, meet me at this place. Mom drops you off. And then, you know, you're just sitting around waiting, you see your friend, and that's how we would find everyone, and then we would just go from there. See, we didn't we didn't have the water holes because we lived in apartment buildings. So there would there really was no Water hose. We didn't get water until we went to somebody's house or something. ⁓ no. ⁓ when I told them that we were drinking out of the water hose, they almost killed me. I mean we did it when when I you know, when I used to like go to my grandma's house, like she lived in a n in a neighborhood. So like I had friends there also. So if we would play over there, we would drink from, you know, somebody's hose in the backyard and stuff. But ⁓ when we were when I was actually like by my house or like out, like if we were 'Cause a lot of times we just kind of went to like Flushing Meadow Park. So there was water fountains. Like, you know, the water fountains are actually turned on back then. Yeah. You know, and like public bathrooms were actually open. You know, so we were and you know, we were never far from a park. You know, back then like parks were, you know, packed. So, you know, there's park there was parks everywhere. So, you know, and the bathrooms are open. Water fountains work, so we weren't We weren't too bad, but so all right, my hot take is a little different. It's not actually about Toy Story. Well, it's about Toy Story. It's about Toy Story, but it's not really about Toy Story. So it's more about ⁓ how could I put this? See, this is really fucked up to bring up during a a kid's movie. But it's more of porn parodies. Whoa. I mean I did I yes, I did I did catch that. I was like, what's going on over here? So back in you know, on the early days of the internet, there were you know, you whatever. And ⁓ No, I don't know. Can you please explain? No, you do. So they they were big on the porn parodies. And I remember watching a Toy Story porn parody. And it was the You Have a Friend in Me. And I think that kind of ruined you had a friend of me forever. So I I that's more my hot take. I think the porn industry ruined the children's movie. But Justin's Justin's over here having ⁓ but it's but if you actually ⁓ it's funny because you kind of grew up watching Nickelodeon TV shows. No. We didn't have cable. Okay. So like if you go back today and you watch a lot of the cartoons, the innuendos are insane. ⁓ yeah. One of my like one of my favorite shows was Rocco's Modern Life and the stuff that was done and said in that TV show, Randy Stimpy. You go back now and look at it, there's no way that our parents should have allowed us to watch that, but they didn't know. And then also we're older now, so then you start to hear the allegations and the people who were creating these shows, like what they were really like and into outside of doing these these cartoons. And it's like, okay. Man, you seen the Spongebob ones, bro? I remember when I was a kid, bro, Patrick had Patrick had the pants that were a phone. It was a phone like the the pants phone. I know. So SpongeBob had to he had he had to dial again. Right? So it was like the call, you need twenty five cents. Mm-hmm. So and the way you know, like the the speaker's like on the behind side. Okay. Cause like he's speaking through there. So I remember as as as well like when I first saw this episode. I was like I was I was a kid, I like I was like, where do you put the con like Nelly with the credit card? I was like I was like Yeah, I was I was taken aback for a sec. I was like I was like, this is this is Spongebob, right? Like I remember I went back to the guide. I was like, Spongebob, square pants, season, whatever. I was Yeah, yeah. I was like, what is this? I was like, this weird joke. I was like, yo, this is not appropriate. I was like, this is not appropriate for my age. We You know it's pretty funny. So obviously we were supposed to be doing Toy Story Three, but that's how good of a that's how good of a movie it is that There's really nothing we can really dive deep into about it. It's just you know, real it brings up so many other memories because of the nostalgia and everything else that we barely even talked about the movie. So, like, I mean, ⁓ we could have really gone into like, you know, the daycare as like a metaphor for institutionalization and all that fucking the deep messages that are actually in the film. That one over your head. When I watch cartoons or when I watch cartoons I'm watching it in the perspective of if I was a kid. Really? Yeah. Huh. So like Woody being like unhealthy unhealthily attached to to Andy? You know, is that a admirable trait or is it like borderline unhealthy? Like to be like that kind of a Velcro kid. A lot of relationships are. You know, that there there's so much we could have actually really gotten into, but it's just such a like a good film. It's like, do you really wanna kind of it's freaking Teddy Brad henchmen and everything, man? Yeah. Like you got it's basically a mob movie at that point. Yeah. You know? Like an action adventure you would kind of go into. So it's just it's such a a wide movie. I think we could have spent so much time like talking about it. But it's at it's one of those movies that just brings up so much other so much other shit. So like I don't know, I I know Brandon doesn't like baseball, but are you a baseball fan, Justin? Yeah. So like I'm not like ⁓ I'm not like a crazy baseball fanatic. ⁓ but I I do like to watch baseball. So like a movie like Angels in the Outfield or like Rookie of the Year or The Sand Lot. You know, I think the Sandlot, I mean, I would put it in the two fifty. I don't know if it's on there. But I definitely think it's like a top two fifty movie. but like some but that movie would be something like this where you veer off into way more different topics than the actual movie. Yeah. So it's it's kind of hard to like have like a layered conversation about because it'll take hours upon hours to actually go into everything for A at least in my opinion, everything for Toy Story. Yeah, it was very in depth for especially for the parents. Like like you said, it's one of it's definitely that movie in the trilogy that parents really get to sit back and be like, Whoa. Like there's a r late there's some depth here. You know, because at that age, right, you're pay let's say if you have an eight year old kid, you figure that that's probably a movie, right? They're their target audience is probably what eight to seven to ten, seven eleven, something like that. Like that's probably Toyne Story's main audience. I would assume. Twelve, you know, around that age. So when you have somebody like that, you're you're probably thirty, thirty two, thirty three, something like around that the average age, whatever. Probably might be a little too old. That'll be too old? Yeah. Right? By because I'm I'm thinking I was in third grade. We were already on into anime. Like everyone was in anime. We were trading Pokemon cards. I'm saying parent wise. So like ⁓ parent wise. Yeah. So like an an eight year old would be well, let's say seven year old then, Toy Story. So you figure the average is what, twenty two? The average person has a kid at twenty two. When? Nowadays? Nah. Like probably third I think it's probably gone up just because you can't you can't afford to have kids anymore. Well, it doesn't stop people. None of my business. So average it out, right? So seven, let's say you're thirty. So you have a seven year old, thirty f let's say you're thirty two. You have a seven year old. So now you're only fifteen years removed from being Andy, going to college, you know, leaving all that. So that would definitely hit somebody your age a lot harder than it would my age because you're a lot closer to that, right? So I think like somebody like that you would really enjoy taking your kid to see something like that because it is more of an adult themed toy story. Like it's not really geared towards the kids, this one, whereas the first two were kind of a little more kid friendly. This one seemed to be more, you know, adult friendly. But it's you know, like there there's I I thought there was a lot to it. Like a lot of a little hit a lot of depth hidden underneath. ⁓ all that. There was also a lot of movie references in there. Which was ⁓ which was pretty cool to see. Yeah, I like those little Easter eggs, like movie references and stuff like that. Yeah, like the what was the ⁓ fuck, what'd he say? ⁓ when he turned Spanish. Well sp Spanish Buzz. ⁓ What was that? What was the movie where the guy lost his memory and then woke up speaking another language? Buzz was the best. Right? Wasn't that Brighton Fraser? Which one? Fuck. I don't remember. I could have sworn he was like woke up and was like speaking not Encino Man, but where he woke up speaking like Spanish. Not Georgia the Jungle. Was it Georgia? Maybe Georgia the Jungle? They might have maybe. Was it? I don't know, but I I'm pretty sure it was kind of modeled after that scene. I I don't remember. I c could be completely wrong, but I'm pretty sure like I said I lo left my notes on the kitchen table. So I definitely had the correct term ⁓ off the top of my head, I think that's what it was. But like Spanish Buzz was hysterical. Barbie and Ken, like the the what do you call it? The the changing clothes montage scene. The dance room. Yeah. Shake it grew thing. Shake it grew thing. Yeah, yeah. That's that's like classic from every eighties and nineties movie. That had like a romantic comedy. Where they held it. That was kinda weird. It's kinda weird, but my my my cousin did have, you know, the Barbie and Ken. So I do remember as a kid before we moved into our house, you know, I used to kinda play with the dolls too. Take the wig off, put it on the guy. You know What was the ⁓ what was the ⁓ what was the joke I remember there was a a joke from a comedian. He said that Barbie gave kids like unrealistic body expectations. Yeah. Of how easy it is to pop to decapitate somebody. Dark for you know it's dark, but first time I've seen a six pack. ⁓ Damn, this is not the same as a brat stall, man. Remember those two? The Bratz dolls? Nah so that's a little past Mine too. So I'm like G. I. Joe era. Like that was towards the end of Towards the end of me was like G.I. Joe and ⁓ Damn, there was a really cool snake eyes toy I had. Cannot find wrestling wrestling toys? I did have those, yes. I had those, bro. I had the ring. I had the ring where the turnbuckles were separate. They were actual claws. I went all out. I had the Goldberg. I had Goldberg. I had various Rey Mysterios. I had the Hardy Boys with like the different pairs of shoes that they used to wear because they had different types of boots from like playing dressing nine. Nah. It was different action figures. Hey man, we're already watching guys in underwear. I bought action The Hardy Boys actually figures what are you about? We're watching guys get on top of each other. and and get on top of each other. So I I think They had jeans on or pants. Cause I was like, yo, this underwear is kind of weird. I like the I like the outfits with the pants. Those are those are those are only exception was Gobert because he was breaking through glass and ⁓ spearing everybody to oblivion. What was that? ⁓ Fresh Prince? Where he was talking about action figures over dolls. He had the Don Cornelius doll and he was like, no it was an action figure figure. Action figure Don Cornelius. Rest in peace. Yeah, man. So would you watch Toy Story 3 again? Yeah. If I ever decide to have kids, yeah. I don't know. You wouldn't watch it on your own? Like you wouldn't just sit one day and be like, I feel like watching the Toy Story trilogy. I mean, I think it would be definitely funnier if Levitating. But outside of that, probably not. Like you don't get in that neither one of you get in that mood where it's like, you know what I want to watch? Like like every year I watch a diehard trilogy. We don't we don't we don't talk about four and five. For Christmas, right? But a around Christmas. I think the only the only ritual I have for that is with ⁓ skate. Escape full lengths. I think those those are the only things. And Stepbrothers. I need to watch Step Brothers at least once a year. There's a long list of movies for me that I watch. Hey, do you like guacamole? Hey, it's new. I mean, I I I showed I think I showed you all in the other group chat, ⁓ The Mummy Returns, because it still to me holds up, and that's sentimental for me because that was a movie that I remember watching with my dad in the movie theater. And obviously as a kid and with the surround sound and everything shaking, and that was also when The Rock was like at the pinnacle. In WWF, not WWE. So just to see him on screen and to see the scare beetles and the fights, it was like, yo, this is fucking amazing. And then what about when you see him with that weird CGI? Was that amazing too? ⁓ I mean, as a kid, I was like, ⁓ but but also, so small story, but you know, even to tie that in, after that movie at Universal Studios, they made the Mummy Ride, which is like one of the most iconic roller coasters, I think, probably in like the world. Like I think it's been in the top 25 rated. So like I also have a connection to that movie just because of that. And every time I go to Universal I like, no, we gotta fucking ride that. They still have it. Yeah, they just actually refurbished it. Damn. Hmm. Are you gonna watch I know it has nothing to do with the actual mummy series, but Lee Cronin's the money? No. I might see it just to see the Evil Dead trailer. Well, it's not, it has nothing to do with the ⁓ the mummy movies, it's just a mummy. It's a mummy movie, but it's just not the mummy movies. It looks looks kind of goofy. It does look a little it it looks a little ⁓ off. I don't know. So no. ⁓ what about you, J would you watch this again? Without kids? Like would you be like, ⁓ you know what? I wanna watch a Toy Story trilogy. Maybe not the trilogy, probably the first one. So now when five comes out, you wouldn't go back and be like, ⁓ let me watch one, two, three, and four. Are you that kind of person? ⁓ It depends. Toy Story's not that type of like series of films for me to do that with. Like I'll watch five when it comes out just so I can see like you know, just so I can see like where the writers headspace are at with from the past ones to n you know, this current one that they're making. But ⁓ Maybe at least once just so I can freshly remember all previous films to then watch the fifth one. ⁓ but yeah. The I think the only film series I've watched multiple times ⁓ other than like like the Star Wars ones and and all that stuff, the ones I enjoyed the most, Brandon's gonna aim was the hangover ones. See, I don't know if I can do three again. For the hang of line. I know. I don't know if I can do three as much as I can do the first two, but I d I I watch one and two all the time. Such a struggle. Like that and ⁓ same thing to me. ⁓ In terms of yeah. It just like I I for some reason I just I can't get through it. I'll start watching it and then I'll just have to turn that shit off. Mm-hmm. The infamous fingerwag. Such a good movie. See now you wouldn't want to go back to the Toy Story trilogy and watch for like the deeper aspects of it. Like to see if you can to see if you can spot them out. Like I I I think I kinda wanna go back now and watch 'cause I I watched three and I watched it really closely. And I was like, all right, what is you know, what is this you know what is this tying into? Is there a deeper meaning behind it? And that's when I was kinda like, All right, you know, it's it's not just this kid's growing up and, you know, generational all that. You know, there was other little hidden messages there. You know, there was like ⁓ abandonment and all you know with ⁓ Daisy when she abandoned Lotto and the baby and all that and it wasn't true abandonment. You know, it was kinda like you sometimes a lot of like cool little hidden hidden meanings in there that, you know, hopefully would resonate with kids. Like they don't realize it at the time, but you know Maybe something similar would happen and it'll be like, ⁓ this is what happened to you know ⁓ Lotso in Toy Story Three, you know, this is why he turned out like that, kinda thing. Yeah. You know, for the first one. Yeah. One of the first things I caught from the first one was ⁓ Karma. When Sid was he was bugging out, just experimenting on his toys. And they all like freaked him out. They all started talking in front of him. So then low key games. See that's why I see you think I don't like animation. I actually love animation movies. But I I like ⁓ when they're like this, like Toy Story Three. So when there's a lot to it, like a lot under the surface. So I I mean I think that you would love the anime if you I'm too I'm at this point I'm too old for it. Some of the some of some of ⁓ some of the movies that we watched are like direct ripoffs. Like I think Black Swan. So I'm actually watching a believe the name is Perfect Blue, but the ⁓ director he completely took that entire story from the anime and then he translated it. So it's like a thing that happens all the time. But you know, you're someone who always says This writing is not good. This writing is not good. This writing is not good. This writing is not good. So then you have a genre that has phenomenal writing. And they tie in so many themes, current events. And you're like, ⁓ I'm not gonna give it a shot. But then you're but then y'all are trying to get me to watch hangover. I'm like, this is some bullshit. There are more realistic anime stuff. Different audiences where it's it's literally just Instead of them having actors, it's animated. Rather than like you know, like swords flying out of the sky and you know See that's what I I I've seen clips online and that's the type of shit that just doesn't like boxing, you know, yeah but not like when they did that shit in Creed 3, I was like, nah, this is absolutely not. Absolutely not. That ruined the whole film for me. Like it was going so well, man. Why'd you do this? Yeah, like that that just I don't know. And like I didn't know that he took it from anime. And then, you know, I saw I saw an interview after where he was talking about where he got the idea of them boxing silence and you know, it was from like an anime between brothers. I don't know, a fight between brothers, I don't know what that means. But ⁓ and I was just like, that's probably why I don't watch anime. Damn. You gotta watch Bokie. People I don't I don't like Bok Choi. Pause. Is is that a pause? I don't even know. I I thought Bok Choi was like a little white thing. What? A little what? A little white circle. It's getting worse, man. It's getting worse. on that note, revisitation right podcast. ⁓ so here man. You got any shout out to Buzz. Any ⁓ any final notes on Toy Story Three? Probably the film with the most depth. It was written really well and it was like a perfect for that time, you know, for that for the the ch you know, for the first three chapters, that was a perfect kind of like goodbye between Andy and ⁓ My dog. Between Andy and ⁓ and the toys. Yeah, it was a great way to tie it. So now do you think it was like cause it was an emotional ending, right? If you've been following along with the whole story and everything. Do you think they my see my thing about the film was they I think they just I think they pressed the emotions a little too much. Cause like the pacing of it was great, like the ensemble like how they worked every character into the same into the storyline and everything was amazing. Like the stakes were there right from the beginning. You know, right from the opening, he was packing up his toilet. Like you knew something was gonna happen. I just think that instead of letting it because it was very dark too for a kid, ⁓ you know, for a kids' movie, probably the I'd say maybe Coco was probably Pixar's darkest. Okay. Shut it down, I think. Right? Maybe Pixar, maybe Soul, something that has like more to do with death. Pixar, yes. The Pixar astic, yeah. Because Disney does tend to make a lot of dark. I'm talking about Pixar though. But ⁓ So I just think that they they ran out of room to actually put the emotions and then they just kind of slammed it at the end. So that that was my only only downside to the movie. But other than that, I thought it was close to perfect. Pretty close. As a move as a movie. As a movie, because everything was on point. The writing, you know, even even the way obviously it's not shot, but even the way it was animated felt like it was shot different. So, like, you know, the two different sides of Sunnyside, one was had a little more shadow to it. One was bright and happy. You know, it was those like subtleties that you would do in a real film to kind of separate. Good and bad. It was all there in the in the animation. So I I thought it was all technically, you know, well done. Because it was like sunny side is like surface colorful and everything. And then once you start getting into like the underbelly of it, it gets very shadowy. You know, and then you have like trucks hiding in the dark and then popping out. So it was kind of like prism break. You know, it had like a little prism break feel to it when they were escaping. Mm-hmm. You know, so all that shit. I loved it. Thought it was great. Would definitely watch it again, actually. But I I think I would watch all three. Like in one. I I I would skip I would skip four. Boom. ⁓ when they do five though, I'll probably I probably won't watch it until they do five. I'll probably watch one, two, three, four before I go see five. You know, maybe not four, but one, two, and three. Four was definitely was definitely bad. But ⁓ my final note would be do not watch the Toy Story porn parody. It will fuck you up to watching Toy Story forever. Or you know, if you do that that's none of our business. That's a straight childhood ruiner right there, man. Because you recommended it, so people probably would not have known that that existed. Maybe. Maybe. But then you know. You you see the Buzz Light Your Toy and then you hear the You Got a Friend in Me song, you hear the sound effects or the you know, it was too much. It was too much. I felt bad for Buzz. On that note, Revisitation Rights Podcast. I'm Pat. Brandon. I'm Justin, man.
