- 0:05Speaker 1: Up next to you.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way, it's Sonia
- 0:09Speaker 1: and Joakim on the shock circuit. The biggest highlight being
- 0:13Speaker 1: at 9:30 a.m. right here on 987 and on 987's TikTok,
- 0:19Speaker 1: we got Yen Korku of StarHub and Joe Cole and
- 0:25Speaker 1: Namana Vidic joining us live in the studio. Singapore's number
- 0:28Speaker 1: one hit music station.
- 0:31Speaker 1: If you have an Al Nasser jersey with Ronaldo's name
- 0:35Speaker 1: on it, maybe today is the day you wear it
- 0:37Speaker 1: out very proud, because if you do follow the Saudi
- 0:40Speaker 1: Pro League after trying for three seasons, 3rd time's the charm,
- 0:46Speaker 1: Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassir are Saudi Pro League champions. Congratulations.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I can think of one live streamer who will be
- 0:57Speaker 1: very happy about this one, I show Speed. So if
- 1:00Speaker 1: you're gonna
- 1:01Speaker 1: Today, do it louder, and here's giving you the commentary
- 1:05Speaker 1: when Ronaldo lifted the Saudi Pro League trophy. The footballing
- 1:08Speaker 1: kingdom is in Al Nasser's hands again.
- 1:13Speaker 1: The class of 2026.
- 1:17Speaker 1: 7 years of promise, pain, persistence. I think he posted
- 1:23Speaker 1: this video less than 3 or 4 hours ago, already
- 1:26Speaker 1: above a million likes. That's the power and the following
- 1:29Speaker 1: that Cristiano Ronaldo has in the world. Now speaking of world,
- 1:34Speaker 1: this man is now a Saudi Pro League champion. Will
- 1:37Speaker 1: Portugal win the World Cup? Hey, you know what, if
- 1:41Speaker 1: you ask me, looking at the team.
- 1:43Speaker 1: They are stacked this season as well. Let's see. My
- 1:47Speaker 1: pick is still England, but I can't decide between Portugal
- 1:49Speaker 1: or France. There we go. In case you missed it yesterday.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Yesterday I had the general manager, Singapore, Malaysia, APEC travel
- 1:57Speaker 1: retail for the Lego Group, Miss Nina joined us, and no,
- 2:01Speaker 1: she did not give us a business review or travel
- 2:04Speaker 1: review of Lego Group. No, no. What she did was
- 2:07Speaker 1: share with us some info on what you can look
- 2:09Speaker 1: forward to for the World Cup.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Season and how Lego is bringing football to us here
- 2:14Speaker 1: in Singapore. What you can do is go on down
- 2:16Speaker 1: to Compass 1 June 4th to June 21st. There's gonna
- 2:22Speaker 1: be loads of Lego displays and Lego activations, and what
- 2:26Speaker 1: she was saying is the setup for the area won't
- 2:29Speaker 1: just be an overnight setup. It's gonna take a few
- 2:31Speaker 1: days to do so, so I cannot wait. I wanna
- 2:33Speaker 1: go on down there and have a look at how
- 2:35Speaker 1: they're gonna bring the football fever.
- 2:38Speaker 1: To Sengkang over at Compass One. So again, June 4th
- 2:42Speaker 1: to June 21st, and here on the shock circuit starting
- 2:45Speaker 1: next Monday, you might wanna brush up your football knowledge,
- 2:49Speaker 1: especially your World Cup knowledge. We're gonna play a simple
- 2:51Speaker 1: round of World Cup trivia and the winner each day
- 2:55Speaker 1: gets to walk away with a LEGO FIFA World Cup
- 2:58Speaker 1: 2026 bundle. I'm talking about the World Cup itself in
- 3:02Speaker 1: LEGO format. There's the ball and then the LEGO highlights
- 3:05Speaker 1: featuring
- 3:06Speaker 1: Cristiano Ronaldo, Vinicius Junior. We're talking Neymar Junior, and so
- 3:11Speaker 1: not Venus, uh, Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, there you go.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And Argentina's very own Lionel Messi. So don't miss it.
- 3:19Speaker 1: We are counting down to the World Cup and I
- 3:21Speaker 1: love this show, and I love this part of the
- 3:23Speaker 1: show as well. 669-119-87. Phone lines are open. Let's give
- 3:28Speaker 1: your school a shout out. Tell me what's the one
- 3:31Speaker 1: thing you love about school as we count down.
- 3:34Speaker 1: To the June holidays. If I'm not wrong, it begins
- 3:38Speaker 1: next next Friday itself. After Friday, of course, your school ends,
- 3:41Speaker 1: 30th of May, and we go for one month in
- 3:44Speaker 1: a break. Hopefully, you're traveling somewhere with the family, enjoying
- 3:47Speaker 1: the World Cup season as well. The, the one thing
- 3:49Speaker 1: about the World Cup, right, it's during the month of June,
- 3:52Speaker 1: during your holidays, you can watch most of the group stages.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Then when it's down to the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the finals,
- 3:58Speaker 1: ah yeah, school starts again. How to watch?
- 4:01Speaker 1: With games happening from 123456789, 1011 a.m. and I think
- 4:09Speaker 1: the latest kickoff for a game will be 12 p.m.,
- 4:12Speaker 1: but the finals will be happening at 3 a.m. Singapore time. Yikes.
- 4:16Speaker 1: So call us 669-011-987. 987. Hello, what's your name? Hi,
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'm Christina. Hello, Christina, and which level are you in
- 4:25Speaker 1: this year in terms of school?
- 4:27Speaker 1: OK, I'm teaching the 5 and the 3 this year. Oh,
- 4:30Speaker 1: you're a teacher. All right, ma'am. So you're teaching primary
- 4:33Speaker 1: 5 and primary 3. Yes, that's right. And from which school?
- 4:38Speaker 1: Uh, from Mito. Meo School. He's giving Meo School a
- 4:42Speaker 1: shout out. Thank you so much for being a teacher
- 4:44Speaker 1: and doing what you do, educating the young here in Singapore.
- 4:47Speaker 1: So how rewarding has the teaching career been for you, Christina?
- 4:52Speaker 1: I love it. I really love it. I love the
- 4:55Speaker 1: interactions in the classrooms, interactions with, um, in the with
- 4:59Speaker 1: the children, the parents, and yeah, I, I, I really
- 5:03Speaker 1: love it.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yeah. So we know you as Christina now on 987,
- 5:06Speaker 1: but what do your students know you as Miss Swat? Uh,
- 5:10Speaker 1: I don't say.
- 5:12Speaker 1: No problem, no problem. So, if Sonia and I were
- 5:15Speaker 1: to ever come to Mitou school, what's the one thing
- 5:18Speaker 1: we can look forward to? Like what's the great thing
- 5:20Speaker 1: about the school you love, aside from the teachers and
- 5:22Speaker 1: the students?
- 5:24Speaker 1: Um, I, I love, why I love this school is
- 5:27Speaker 1: because of the values that they inculcate in the children.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so they have like a, a values education program
- 5:35Speaker 1: every Wednesday where they have the volunteers from city to
- 5:38Speaker 1: come in and then they sing songs and they do
- 5:42Speaker 1: small little activities with the children to really um teach
- 5:46Speaker 1: the children about values and around our school there's a
- 5:50Speaker 1: lot of recycling program. Recycling is very big in our
- 5:53Speaker 1: school as well.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so, um, everyone plays a part in the recycling portion.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So everybody comes together and then we help, um, the environment,
- 6:04Speaker 1: you know. Well, it's a very nice advertisement for Meo
- 6:08Speaker 1: School for parents to hear this, so hopefully you do
- 6:10Speaker 1: a good job. That said, given how you're teaching the
- 6:13Speaker 1: primary 5 this year, I believe I'll be seeing you
- 6:15Speaker 1: very soon at the national stadium. So for the NDP previews,
- 6:19Speaker 1: have a great time. Christina, what song can I get
- 6:21Speaker 1: for you here on 987?
- 6:22Speaker 1: So they love BTS and they love the song Sin.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Thank you so much for your call, Christina. Take care.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I believe sometime last week, our friends over at Mothership
- 6:32Speaker 1: and I think all your social media outlets and news platforms,
- 6:37Speaker 1: they were covering about this certain cat that went missing
- 6:41Speaker 1: over at Gardens by the Bay. Bravo, the ginger cat. So,
- 6:45Speaker 1: the backstory is what happened was the owner and her husband,
- 6:48Speaker 1: Shermine and her husband,
- 6:50Speaker 1: Actually brought down Bravo to Gardens by the Bay to
- 6:54Speaker 1: celebrate Mother's Day and to get something from a store
- 6:58Speaker 1: over in the park. So it was Bravo, the cat's
- 7:01Speaker 1: first time in the park, and they were trying out
- 7:04Speaker 1: a new harness for him, and I think Bravo was
- 7:07Speaker 1: spooked by a few of the kids, and Bravo went missing.
- 7:10Speaker 1: So unfortunately,
- 7:12Speaker 1: Um, they went on an almost week-long search for Bravo,
- 7:16Speaker 1: and if anyone has ever had a pet missing before,
- 7:19Speaker 1: you know the panic, you know the anxiety that it
- 7:22Speaker 1: will give you. And I remember for Sonia and I,
- 7:24Speaker 1: one of our mutual friends, Patient, remember Oreo, the dog
- 7:28Speaker 1: that went missing from the, from the, uh, the flight
- 7:31Speaker 1: that was supposed to go to the US and then
- 7:33Speaker 1: a massive nationwide collective manhunt took place for Oreo the dog,
- 7:38Speaker 1: and thankfully he was found.
- 7:41Speaker 1: For Bravo the ginger cat, I'm very happy to say
- 7:43Speaker 1: that yep, knowing the Singapore spirit and so many pins
- 7:46Speaker 1: joined in the search. Close to about 50 people formed
- 7:50Speaker 1: a small community, and they found Bravo the cat in
- 7:53Speaker 1: the end. Congratulations, I'm very happy.
- 7:58Speaker 1: So, Bravo was actually found at a cordoned-off area of
- 8:02Speaker 1: the park and they hired a professional cat trapper. It
- 8:05Speaker 1: took about an hour of coaxing Bravo to go in
- 8:08Speaker 1: the trap for safekeeping, and yeah, Bravo is now safely
- 8:12Speaker 1: with Charmaine and her husband again. So congratulations to Charmaine.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Please sleep off the anxiety and the stress now and rest. I,
- 8:20Speaker 1: I can only imagine what a daunting one week it
- 8:22Speaker 1: has been for you. And for the next one minute
- 8:26Speaker 1: or so, I promise you.
- 8:28Speaker 1: This will only be the most self-serving I've sounded here
- 8:31Speaker 1: on 987, but something that I always look forward to
- 8:34Speaker 1: every year, National Day parades. Dream of mine. Glad it's
- 8:39Speaker 1: come true and glad that whenever they give me the call, hey, Joakim,
- 8:42Speaker 1: do you wanna host NDP? I'll always say, say no more.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I'll gladly do it. And yeah. Yesterday, I think the
- 8:51Speaker 1: media release for what we can expect for this year's
- 8:53Speaker 1: National Day Parade 2026.
- 8:55Speaker 1: It was released and the one thing that people are
- 9:00Speaker 1: feeling a little bit cyang about is for this year,
- 9:02Speaker 1: given how it's being staged at the National Stadium, it's
- 9:06Speaker 1: making its return to the National Stadium after 10 years.
- 9:10Speaker 1: There won't be the red lions. Yeah, and as, you know,
- 9:16Speaker 1: one of the hosts for NDP the last few years,
- 9:19Speaker 1: I gotta say, during the national education shows and even
- 9:23Speaker 1: the previews, even before the actual day itself, whenever the
- 9:27Speaker 1: red lions appear, people just cheer. You, you don't even
- 9:30Speaker 1: need to say cheer for them. They will scream, they
- 9:33Speaker 1: will shout, they'll be waving the Singapore flags. But here's
- 9:37Speaker 1: the thing, perhaps as
- 9:40Speaker 1: Uh, how do I say this? I'm speaking as myself
- 9:43Speaker 1: and giving you my personal take here on 987 because
- 9:46Speaker 1: on social media, you would know.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Sometimes on Facebook and Instagram, the comment section can be
- 9:53Speaker 1: really rage bait 101. Not too sure whether are they
- 9:57Speaker 1: boomers or just people who wanna find trouble with every
- 10:00Speaker 1: single thing. You know, I see familiar names who just
- 10:03Speaker 1: love to leave comments that add nothing to the discussion.
- 10:07Speaker 1: So I saw one that says, whoa, up to now
- 10:10Speaker 1: our commando still cannot land in the stadium, is it? OK.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Having been to the national stadium many times for events.
- 10:18Speaker 1: The thing about our retractable roof is, it's being held
- 10:22Speaker 1: and supported by loads of roof trusses. It's the structure
- 10:27Speaker 1: that holds the thing in place and hopefully tracks the
- 10:29Speaker 1: roof as it opens. I, I don't think it's humanely
- 10:33Speaker 1: possible to actually learn and navigate yourself through the trusses.
- 10:37Speaker 1: What if an accident were to happen? What if the
- 10:39Speaker 1: wind blows wrongly and the parachute gets stuck among the trusses?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Because the opening, it's really very small, so hopefully,
- 10:48Speaker 1: Perhaps this might give you a better understanding of why
- 10:51Speaker 1: it's not possible for the red lines to land inside
- 10:54Speaker 1: our national stadium. Maybe for future stagings, there could be
- 10:57Speaker 1: more space in the Kallang area and we might see that.
- 11:00Speaker 1: But what you can look forward to this year as
- 11:02Speaker 1: promised by the powers that be who are in charge
- 11:05Speaker 1: of National Day Parade this year.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Indoor drone shows, a new and improved format, a staging
- 11:12Speaker 1: that could seat 42,000 people. So we're looking at what,
- 11:17Speaker 1: 3 or 4 different NEs, 2 previews, and the actual
- 11:20Speaker 1: day itself. Rehearsals are gonna start very soon. I'm looking
- 11:24Speaker 1: forward to it and all I can say to you,
- 11:26Speaker 1: the public is
- 11:28Speaker 1: Give it a chance. Let, let's see. Do we always
- 11:30Speaker 1: have people saying, oh, NDP should be different every year.
- 11:34Speaker 1: This is us trying to be different, and I really
- 11:36Speaker 1: hope you enjoyed this year. I, I've heard plans on
- 11:39Speaker 1: what sort of staging will happen. I can't reveal it
- 11:42Speaker 1: as of yet. Wait for the official media release. Maybe
- 11:46Speaker 1: sometime in June. If you're a fan of
- 11:48Speaker 1: Hello Kitty and maybe Blackpink's Jisu, you might want to
- 11:53Speaker 1: take note of these dates. May 28th to June 14th,
- 11:59Speaker 1: from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. over at Wisma Atria
- 12:02Speaker 1: Level one, there will be the Hello Kitty collab with Jissu,
- 12:07Speaker 1: making its pop-up here in Singapore, yeah.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Look, I, I'm not gonna pretend that I understand Hello Kitty,
- 12:17Speaker 1: but if you're happy, I am really happy for you.
- 12:20Speaker 1: You can look forward to blind boxes, travel accessories, apparel, stationery,
- 12:26Speaker 1: and collectible key chains, and the collection is themed around
- 12:30Speaker 1: a friendship exchange diary. Yeah, so I think Jisoo has
- 12:35Speaker 1: really planned this collaboration and she has a huge hand
- 12:38Speaker 1: in making it happen.
- 12:39Speaker 1: If I'm not wrong, it's already happened in Seoul, Korea,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and Jakarta, as well as Bangkok, Thailand. So Singapore is
- 12:47Speaker 1: the next stop, May 28th, all the way to June 14th.
- 12:51Speaker 1: But disclaimer, again, there is no announcement on whether Jisoo
- 12:55Speaker 1: will be here to launch the collection officially. If she is,
- 12:58Speaker 1: then stay very close to our friends over at CNA.
- 13:01Speaker 1: They might most definitely report on this. The phone lines
- 13:04Speaker 1: are open over at 669-119-87.
- 13:08Speaker 1: And even our WhatsApp number as well, 90050987. Not so
- 13:14Speaker 1: much a spicy topic today, but today it's more or
- 13:17Speaker 1: less a very sweet one and it involves a stranger,
- 13:21Speaker 1: a complete stranger helping you find something, do something, or
- 13:26Speaker 1: in a time of need, maybe you took a very
- 13:29Speaker 1: bad fall, somebody helped you up. Simple acts like these
- 13:33Speaker 1: to restore your faith in humanity because when I was
- 13:36Speaker 1: reading about
- 13:37Speaker 1: Bravo, the ginger cat that went missing over at Garden
- 13:41Speaker 1: Spader Bay. Close to what, 50 random people showed up
- 13:45Speaker 1: to help Charmaine and her husband find the cat, and thankfully,
- 13:49Speaker 1: Bravo has been found. Yeah, I'm gonna just be happy
- 13:52Speaker 1: for that.
- 13:54Speaker 1: And as a parent, you, you could be going through
- 13:56Speaker 1: all sorts of anxiety and stress and having not one,
- 13:59Speaker 1: not two, but 50 people show up for you, calm
- 14:02Speaker 1: you down and put in their efforts to comb around
- 14:04Speaker 1: the whole Gardens by the Bay Area looking for Bravo. Thankfully,
- 14:08Speaker 1: Bravo was found. 669-11987.
- 14:12Speaker 1: And 90050987. If you do like your answer, what's coming
- 14:16Speaker 1: your way is a very nice dining experience. All thanks
- 14:18Speaker 1: to our friends over at Frasier's House, Luce. If you
- 14:21Speaker 1: love your pastas, if you love your cheese wheel, they
- 14:24Speaker 1: definitely have something for you. Discount codes coming your way.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Luce 30 for the weekdays, Luce 30, that's L U
- 14:32Speaker 1: C E 30, and for the weekends, it's Luce 25
- 14:36Speaker 1: LUCE 25. So, just by tuning in, we're we're giving
- 14:39Speaker 1: you discount codes and you can go try it over
- 14:41Speaker 1: at Frasier's house Luce. So, let us know when has
- 14:45Speaker 1: a stranger showed up for you?
- 14:47Speaker 1: Let us know what this stranger did. Could be a
- 14:50Speaker 1: good thing, could be a fantastic thing, anything at all.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Let us know. On the topic of strangers showing up
- 14:56Speaker 1: to help you, maybe restoring your faith in humanity or
- 14:59Speaker 1: giving that extra belief in humanity as well. Inspired by
- 15:03Speaker 1: 50 random people, 50 strangers coming together to help find
- 15:08Speaker 1: Bravo the ginger cat, who thankfully has been found over
- 15:11Speaker 1: at the Gardens by the Bay area. The full story
- 15:14Speaker 1: available for you, I think, by our friends over at Mothership.
- 15:16Speaker 1: They've
- 15:17Speaker 1: Really chronicled how Bravo was found, so the pet owner
- 15:21Speaker 1: Shamine and her husband can finally rest easy, and the
- 15:24Speaker 1: last I read, they're giving Bravo all the space to
- 15:27Speaker 1: get used to the home environment again and to also
- 15:30Speaker 1: overcome any emotional shock or sadness. Going to WhatsApp right now, 90050987,
- 15:37Speaker 1: saying good morning to Jensen. Hey Joe, my mom was
- 15:40Speaker 1: cycling along East Coast Park two weeks ago when she
- 15:43Speaker 1: had a fall because her bicycle chain broke.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Two people actually helped her up and
- 15:51Speaker 1: Helped her give me a call to assure me that
- 15:53Speaker 1: I was OK because I received the full notification on
- 15:56Speaker 1: my Apple Watch. Well, Jensen, there you go. Thank you
- 15:59Speaker 1: very much for that. And I also received a voice
- 16:02Speaker 1: note from Mabel. Mabel, let's hear your story.
- 16:05Speaker 2: So, back when I was having a newborn baby, together
- 16:09Speaker 2: with my 2 year old toddler, I would have to
- 16:11Speaker 2: carry the baby and bring the toddler to school by
- 16:14Speaker 2: bus or um by walking.
- 16:18Speaker 2: And there was this magical helper somewhere in our neighborhood
- 16:22Speaker 2: that would always show up when I was um in
- 16:25Speaker 2: the most desperate situation. So for example, she would spot
- 16:30Speaker 2: me at the bus stop and she would help me
- 16:31Speaker 2: lift my toddler up onto the bus. Or if it
- 16:35Speaker 2: was raining, she would appear with an umbrella or if
- 16:37Speaker 2: there was a big puddle, she would just really appear
- 16:40Speaker 2: and help me to carry my toddler over the puddle.
- 16:44Speaker 2: It was almost as if she was Mary Poppin.
- 16:46Speaker 2: So kudos
- 16:46Speaker 1: to her. And for today, stories that will restore your
- 16:49Speaker 1: faith in humanity, inspired by 50 random strangers coming together
- 16:53Speaker 1: to help Charmaine and her husband find Bravo the ginger
- 16:57Speaker 1: cat over at Gardens by the Bay. In case you
- 16:59Speaker 1: missed the update, Bravo has been found, so I'm gonna
- 17:02Speaker 1: clap for everyone who was involved. Thank you.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Faith in humanity definitely restored. So I'm just collecting your
- 17:09Speaker 1: stories about when was the last time a stranger showed
- 17:13Speaker 1: up for you. I got a lengthy one to read
- 17:16Speaker 1: coming in from Linda, and Linda has sent pictures of
- 17:18Speaker 1: a very nice doggo. Why, you're the goodest boy. OK, morning,
- 17:23Speaker 1: dear Joe. Hope your morning has been good. Recently, my
- 17:26Speaker 1: Singapore special doggie has been diagnosed with, OK, hopefully I'm
- 17:29Speaker 1: Saying this correctly, babe she tick fever and the VES
- 17:34Speaker 1: vet asked us to rally for doggy blood donors. I
- 17:38Speaker 1: immediately messaged the different FB groups and immediately all the
- 17:41Speaker 1: nice por reposted my post asking for kind doggy blood
- 17:45Speaker 1: donors for my sparky. I need to do a special
- 17:47Speaker 1: shout out to Zoe from Canine Blood Donors Singapore. She
- 17:51Speaker 1: called me late at night to share that she actually
- 17:53Speaker 1: had
- 17:53Speaker 1: A standby hero doggy blood donor for both Sparky and
- 17:56Speaker 1: another dog. She also messaged me to comfort me and
- 17:59Speaker 1: told me that they already have a doggie hero on standby.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Many parents continue to repost my call for help. Wonderful,
- 18:06Speaker 1: wonderful individuals who do not know us at all. Then
- 18:09Speaker 1: two kind souls messaged me on my mobile and told
- 18:11Speaker 1: me not to worry, as their doggies will be on
- 18:13Speaker 1: standby too for Sparky. One even regularly.
- 18:16Speaker 1: He checked up on me and Sparky. Fortunately, we don't
- 18:19Speaker 1: need any blood transfusion, but very unfortunately, Sparky is diagnosed
- 18:23Speaker 1: with lymphoma. Oh no, in addition to babe tick fever, uh,
- 18:27Speaker 1: tick fever. Very poor diagnosis, but we are trying our
- 18:30Speaker 1: best to keep him healthy with loads of good nutrition, food,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and good supplements. But I want to thank all the
- 18:36Speaker 1: kind strangers who showed us love and concern. Aiyo.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Linda, you know what? Thank you very much and thank
- 18:42Speaker 1: you for all the pictures of Sparky. I sent him
- 18:44Speaker 1: all the good juju, all the good treats. Please, Sparky,
- 18:49Speaker 1: get well soon. We're all rooting for you. On the
- 18:51Speaker 1: topic of restoring your faith in humanity, strangers showing up
- 18:56Speaker 1: for you, inspired by the 50 people who showed up
- 18:58Speaker 1: to help find Bravo the ginger cat over at Gardens
- 19:02Speaker 1: by the Bay, Singapore. Bravo's been found.
- 19:04Speaker 1: That's very good. Going to WhatsApp and saying hello to Jesse.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Hello Jesse. Jesse says, morning, Joe. My husband and I
- 19:12Speaker 1: were on our honeymoon in Turkey, and we went on
- 19:14Speaker 1: a road trip around Turkey. Then, in a very ulu
- 19:18Speaker 1: part of the country, another car signaled to us and
- 19:20Speaker 1: informed us that one of our tires punctured. When we
- 19:23Speaker 1: stopped and checked, we were at a total loss. I,
- 19:25Speaker 1: for one, had never changed a spare tire before.
- 19:28Speaker 1: The local Turkish stranger came out from the car and
- 19:31Speaker 1: offered to help. We watched him jack up the car
- 19:34Speaker 1: and unscrew the bolts, remove the wheel and change to
- 19:37Speaker 1: the spare wheel. He also made sure to secure the
- 19:39Speaker 1: spare tire by kicking and using his weight on the wrench.
- 19:42Speaker 1: We were really touched by his kindness and generosity. He
- 19:45Speaker 1: didn't ask for anything in return. We probably have nothing
- 19:48Speaker 1: to give to. All we did was really thank him profusely.
- 19:51Speaker 1: From then on, I was really inspired by
- 19:54Speaker 1: Him to bring the generosity forward to extending help to
- 19:57Speaker 1: visitors to Singapore. There we go. Hopefully, you're having a
- 20:00Speaker 1: great Friday so far and thank you for all your
- 20:02Speaker 1: calls and texts earlier about strangers showing up for you.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I think, if anything, I really hope your faith in
- 20:09Speaker 1: humanity has been restored. For today's winner though, I think
- 20:14Speaker 1: I want to give it to Fran who called us earlier. Fran, congratulations!
- 20:21Speaker 1: Sharing about the umbrella and all that. I, I wish
- 20:24Speaker 1: you were able to invite the person that helped you
- 20:27Speaker 1: to go dine with you over at Frasier's house at Luche,
- 20:31Speaker 1: but you know what? I'm pretty sure you'll bring your kids.
- 20:33Speaker 1: They're in for one fantastic meal as well. And again,
- 20:36Speaker 1: if you missed everything, full updates and recap available for
- 20:40Speaker 1: you on Media Corps, me, Listen, as well as on Spotify. So, um,
- 20:45Speaker 1: Again, the the word influencer, it's in the spotlight right now. Thankfully,
- 20:50Speaker 1: nothing Singapore made or Singapore done for this particular situation
- 20:55Speaker 1: because uh for the last few months, I don't know why,
- 20:57Speaker 1: but yeah, a couple of Singaporean influencers making the news
- 21:00Speaker 1: for all the wrong reasons. This one though is a
- 21:03Speaker 1: Vietnamese influencer, and she shared that she's facing health problems, OK?
- 21:10Speaker 1: I don't know how true this is, but apparently for
- 21:14Speaker 1: the last 3 years, she has drank nothing but bubble tea.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and unfortunately, she's now diagnosed with blood cancer.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I'm stunned
- 21:28Speaker 1: I, I don't know why did she do this, but
- 21:32Speaker 1: in a very emotional video, she was addressing her viewers saying,
- 21:35Speaker 1: you know, please, please take things in moderation and all that,
- 21:38Speaker 1: but 3 years of bubble tea without water, are you sure?
- 21:43Speaker 1: That that's my question. I don't know whether is this
- 21:46Speaker 1: really hyped up.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Or is this actually fact? So if you want to
- 21:50Speaker 1: go watch the video, it's available for her, it's available
- 21:54Speaker 1: for you, I think, on Mothership and her Instagram account
- 21:55Speaker 1: as well. Her name is Anfai. Hopefully I'm saying that correctly,
- 22:00Speaker 1: and the quote is, I thought as I don't smoke
- 22:02Speaker 1: or drink alcohol that my body would be fine.
- 22:07Speaker 1: And then she drinks bubble tea for 3 years straight. I,
- 22:09Speaker 1: I'm confused. And if you're a Formula One fan, you
- 22:12Speaker 1: would know Formula One action, it's back. No, wait, that's
- 22:17Speaker 1: the old engine. I don't know how to make the
- 22:19Speaker 1: new hybrid engine sound. It sounds a little bit weird
- 22:22Speaker 1: to me if you ask me. But anyway, here's giving
- 22:25Speaker 1: you the timings to look forward to. Now, because it's
- 22:28Speaker 1: in Canada, do note there's like a
- 22:30Speaker 1: Almost, what? 12-hour time difference. So for practice one, it
- 22:36Speaker 1: happens tomorrow morning, 12:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. and then
- 22:41Speaker 1: at 4:30 a.m. to 5:14 a.m. it is the sprint
- 22:47Speaker 1: qualifying that's happening tomorrow morning. On Sunday morning, Singapore time,
- 22:52Speaker 1: 12 midnight to 1:00 a.m. is the Canadian Grand Prix sprint.
- 22:56Speaker 1: And then for qualifying, it happens 4 a.m. to 5 a.m.,
- 23:01Speaker 1: 24th of May. And then on Monday morning at 4 a.m.
- 23:06Speaker 1: it will be the Canadian Grand Prix race itself. So
- 23:09Speaker 1: I'm very sure on Monday morning when I show up
- 23:11Speaker 1: to work, I'll more or less be able to summarize
- 23:13Speaker 1: and quickly give you who were, who made podium for
- 23:17Speaker 1: the Canadian Grand Prix. So to my boys over at Cadillac,
- 23:21Speaker 1: come on guys, let's score some points or
- 23:24Speaker 1: The most important thing for Cadillac is beat the Aston Martin.
- 23:27Speaker 1: What a show we've had. What a week we've had
- 23:30Speaker 1: going solo. So don't forget, starting next Monday for the
- 23:35Speaker 1: whole week on the shock circuit, we have a very
- 23:38Speaker 1: nice LEGO FIFA World Cup bundle for you, which we'll
- 23:42Speaker 1: be giving to you on a simple World Cup trivia game.
- 23:45Speaker 1: We're gonna go head to head with a fellow listener,
- 23:47Speaker 1: get 3 questions right, and what's coming your way? The
- 23:50Speaker 1: fantastic prize brought to you by
- 23:51Speaker 1: Lago. We also just spoke to Yen Korku of StarHub,
- 23:55Speaker 1: as well as Joe Cole and Namena Village Premier League legends.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I'm still smiling. My classic United jersey now has Namena
- 24:03Speaker 1: Village's signature. Hopefully, I can collect more United legends and
- 24:07Speaker 1: the ultimate one will be Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and maybe one day,
- 24:11Speaker 1: Wayne Rooney. Well, if you're a football fan or not,
- 24:14Speaker 1: enjoy the final day screening over at Clark Quay Fountain Square.
- 24:19Speaker 1: We'll see you there.
