After a decade-long search, the remains of Robert Deshawn Childers, who vanished in 2016 from Cloverdale, have been identified through DNA matching — bringing closure to his family and reigniting the investigation into his disappearance. Found in March in a wooded area behind a Lauderdale County home, the remains were carefully excavated with state fire marshal assistance and sent for forensic analysis.
