- 0:00Speaker 1: He d I mean if you get free roses, it's a trap.
- 0:05Speaker 1: War of the Roses starts right now on John Jay
- 0:08Speaker 1: and Ridge one of four seven Kiss FM. John jing Rich,
- 0:12Speaker 1: It's time for War of the Roses. You're in a relationship.
- 0:15Speaker 1: You suspect somebody could be cheating, so you come to
- 0:17Speaker 1: us to find out. We will find out for you.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Sasha, good morning, Good morning.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Who are we talking about? Who do you think is
- 0:25Speaker 1: cheating on you?
- 0:26Speaker 2: My boyfriend Dave, we've been together for a few years.
- 0:29Speaker 2: We're taking things slow like we wanted, and everything's like
- 0:32Speaker 2: really good so far, like and especially right now, like
- 0:35Speaker 2: we've hit our stride. But so he has he has
- 0:37Speaker 2: a daughter and she's graduating high school this year and
- 0:42Speaker 2: school's like wrapping up like any week. And he has
- 0:45Speaker 2: been talking to his ex like a lot, like and
- 0:49Speaker 2: obviously I know that they share a daughter, Like, so fine, okay,
- 0:52Speaker 2: but it's like it's still making me super uneasy. They're
- 0:56Speaker 2: planning graduations in college. But like the problem is like
- 0:59Speaker 2: he's one who left her. I know she's still in
- 1:02Speaker 2: love with him, and she will call him randomly often
- 1:05Speaker 2: and he picks up immediately no matter what we're doing.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Like even if we're like mid conversation, he'll pick up
- 1:10Speaker 2: immediately and it's just weird. And I just can't shake
- 1:13Speaker 2: this ceiling like in my stomach every time, like this
- 1:16Speaker 2: phone his phone light's up and her name's there, and
- 1:18Speaker 2: like I really, honestly, I don't even know what to
- 1:20Speaker 2: do with all of it. And I don't know. She's
- 1:22Speaker 2: super rude and cold to me when I'm around, and
- 1:25Speaker 2: I just feel like something's up.
- 1:27Speaker 3: That's enough. But you know, the graduation thing, it's like
- 1:31Speaker 3: you have to when you have kids. I speak from
- 1:34Speaker 3: a little experience. You gotta just be cool for the
- 1:37Speaker 3: sake of the kids, because you don't want them to
- 1:39Speaker 3: be the thing. But the celebration and you are in
- 1:41Speaker 3: more contact than you probably want to be because there's details, right.
- 1:45Speaker 4: And Sasha can't like hop off on him because then
- 1:49Speaker 4: she kind of looks like the crazy and she's like,
- 1:51Speaker 4: this is my kid, Like what else do you expect?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what I mean, you're nicer. You're probably
- 1:55Speaker 3: nicer to your Rex than you would have been because
- 1:58Speaker 3: it's your kid and you want to make it special
- 2:00Speaker 3: for them. So how did their relationship end?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Honestly, like he was just kind of like done with
- 2:07Speaker 2: her and like left her one day, like it was
- 2:09Speaker 2: a really not a good wit end. And so that
- 2:11Speaker 2: that's what makes me. It makes me feel like there's
- 2:13Speaker 2: got to be still that blood, Like it can't be
- 2:15Speaker 2: all this like Punky Dory call me anytime. It's just, yeah,
- 2:20Speaker 2: it wasn't a good ending.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Well, here's the thing too, I believe I thought I
- 2:24Speaker 1: saw Oprah talk about this. If you have a child
- 2:26Speaker 1: with someone and you break up and you go back
- 2:30Speaker 1: and have sex with that person, that's not cheating.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Said that she didn't just made.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I think it was my friend Rob.
- 2:46Speaker 4: I think the biggest red flag to me is that
- 2:48Speaker 4: she is like rude and cold to you because either
- 2:52Speaker 4: she thinks maybe like you're the reason their relationship ended,
- 2:56Speaker 4: or you're the real reason their relationship can't rekindle all
- 2:59Speaker 4: the All.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Right, well, let's get him on the phone and see
- 3:02Speaker 1: who sends the flowers to. What's his name, Sasha Da
- 3:05Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna call Dave. See who sends the
- 3:08Speaker 1: flowers too. You're ready call him?
- 3:09Speaker 5: Ready?
- 3:10Speaker 1: All right? War the Roses continues next with John Jay
- 3:13Speaker 1: and Rich. John Jay and Rich, we're in the middle
- 3:16Speaker 1: of War the Roses got Sasha on the line. Her boyfriend,
- 3:19Speaker 1: Dave has a daughter that's about to graduate high.
- 3:22Speaker 2: School, college, high school.
- 3:24Speaker 1: High school. Dave has been talking a lot to his
- 3:27Speaker 1: ex because they have a kid graduating, so that makes
- 3:30Speaker 1: a lot of sense. But Sasha says, Dave's acting weird
- 3:33Speaker 1: when he gets the phone calls from her, and now
- 3:35Speaker 1: Sasha feels a little weird about it. That's pretty much
- 3:37Speaker 1: the whole situation, Ry, Sasha, I hit.
- 3:39Speaker 2: It right, Yeah, yeah, I just need like peace of
- 3:42Speaker 2: mind here, Ca.
- 3:43Speaker 1: You're ready to call him?
- 3:44Speaker 5: I'm ready.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Hello, Hi, there is Dave available speaking perfect Hi Dave.
- 4:06Speaker 4: So my name is Charlotte and with a new company,
- 4:07Speaker 4: we're called J and R Flowers. Remember that, because that's
- 4:09Speaker 4: the whole point of this is to get the word out.
- 4:11Speaker 4: We've actually chosen you to be a part of our
- 4:13Speaker 4: social media campaign, so you get to be a micro influencer.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Here's why it's really cool for you, Dave. You get
- 4:18Speaker 4: to send our most romantic bouquet of flowers to whoever
- 4:21Speaker 4: you want. It's totally free for you and every turn.
- 4:25Speaker 4: We just hope that maybe you post about us on
- 4:27Speaker 4: whichever social media platform you use the most and it
- 4:29Speaker 4: is our pure passion bouquet, so you get to surprise
- 4:31Speaker 4: somebody special in your life.
- 4:34Speaker 6: That was a lot of information, just a little flowers.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, perfect.
- 4:40Speaker 5: Okay.
- 4:40Speaker 4: So a lot of people are like, what's the catch,
- 4:42Speaker 4: You're gonna get my credit card information or something like that,
- 4:44Speaker 4: and we are absolutely not. We just want to get
- 4:46Speaker 4: the word out.
- 4:47Speaker 2: The only yeah yeah, So the only.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Real information that I need from you is we're going
- 4:53Speaker 4: to send the flowers out with a nice little car.
- 4:55Speaker 4: And I was just tell people, this is your chance
- 4:57Speaker 4: to personalize it. So depending on the nature of your relationship,
- 5:00Speaker 4: you know, some people get fun in the card or
- 5:01Speaker 4: a little flirty.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Some people get like, oh, you know.
- 5:03Speaker 6: Like whoa I So what kind of flowers are they?
- 5:06Speaker 4: It's our pure passion Okay, So it's a dozen long
- 5:08Speaker 4: stem red roses and it comes in a really nice
- 5:10Speaker 4: crystal vase, so definitely like a wow piece. So just
- 5:14Speaker 4: let me know what you want on the card. We'll
- 5:16Speaker 4: start with the message and then we'll go name an
- 5:18Speaker 4: address and I'll give you a time that they'll be delivered.
- 5:20Speaker 6: Okay, my god, it's so bad at this stuff. There's
- 5:25Speaker 6: something like you mean the world to me, I love you.
- 5:31Speaker 4: That's very sweet.
- 5:32Speaker 3: You mean the world to me.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I love you, Okay, And then who did you want
- 5:38Speaker 4: to address this to?
- 5:40Speaker 1: Sasha?
- 5:41Speaker 4: Sasha, She's gonna love this a nice gift.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I like, super, I'm like so confused, Like, hold on
- 5:48Speaker 2: a second, Dave, Hi, What yeah? I called the radio
- 5:55Speaker 2: station and like, I just want to know why you're
- 5:57Speaker 2: like always talking to.
- 5:58Speaker 6: Your eggs, Sasha, are you serious right now? What is happening?
- 6:05Speaker 6: You call the radio station for what?
- 6:07Speaker 2: Just because I needed to know the truth, Like I
- 6:09Speaker 2: just need information. I'm just I need it. Oh my god?
- 6:14Speaker 6: What truth? There's nothing to be untruthful about whatever this is.
- 6:18Speaker 6: It feels childish to me.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Hey childish, Dave. She's the one that's literally calling you
- 6:23Speaker 2: all the time and you answer immediately every single time,
- 6:27Speaker 2: like you're texting all day. And I know it's about
- 6:30Speaker 2: like graduation stuff and like going to college and parties.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Like I get it, but she also hates me, Like
- 6:36Speaker 2: what am I supposed to think?
- 6:38Speaker 6: You're supposed to think that I'm being a dad. That's
- 6:41Speaker 6: my daughter's mom, you know that, right? Like of course
- 6:44Speaker 6: we're talking more right now. It is graduation, Seaman. She's
- 6:48Speaker 6: the mother of my child. Okay, like she helped me
- 6:51Speaker 6: raise this amazing little kid. It's not romantic, it's biological.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Okay, do you get that? I don't know, I get it,
- 7:00Speaker 2: but like, can't you understand like why this would feel
- 7:03Speaker 2: weird from my side? Like I get all that.
- 7:06Speaker 6: I mean I do, I do. You don't understand it?
- 7:09Speaker 6: And honestly, I kind of think that this is like
- 7:12Speaker 6: part of what our age difference leads to. Like you're,
- 7:15Speaker 6: you know, ten years younger than these, so sometimes I
- 7:17Speaker 6: think we handle stuff a little differently, like maturity wise.
- 7:21Speaker 1: You know that that was a still good for you.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I don't know why we're bringing age into this. Like
- 7:30Speaker 2: so now you're saying I'm a mature like that. That's
- 7:34Speaker 2: not alas.
- 7:35Speaker 6: I'm not saying it to insult you. I'm just saying
- 7:37Speaker 6: that I've already done this whole toxic fighting thing before
- 7:40Speaker 6: it and I'm not interested in it again. I just
- 7:43Speaker 6: don't have the energy. You know. I want communication, not tests.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Well I wasn't testing you. I want peace of mind.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I just I don't know what other way to get it.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Then, Okay, well I need you to understand that. You know,
- 7:57Speaker 6: if we're talking getting really serious here. Maybe marriage, then
- 8:02Speaker 6: my kid is always going to come first. Is the
- 8:06Speaker 6: best thing that's ever happened.
- 8:07Speaker 1: To talk to your kid all the time, It's.
- 8:09Speaker 6: Going to be my priority.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Maybe you talk to your kid all the time instead
- 8:12Speaker 4: of your ex.
- 8:15Speaker 6: That's her mom.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I get that you can care.
- 8:18Speaker 4: But now she is getting to the age where she's
- 8:20Speaker 4: getting into adulthood and you can communicate more with her
- 8:24Speaker 4: rather than her mom. You may still have to communicate
- 8:26Speaker 4: on parental issues and whatnot. But I think it's like
- 8:29Speaker 4: you have to decide is your relationship worth that, Like,
- 8:31Speaker 4: which relationship is more important with you. She's not saying
- 8:34Speaker 4: don't have a relationship with your kid. She's saying it's
- 8:36Speaker 4: making me uncomfortable the relationship you are carrying on with
- 8:39Speaker 4: your ex, which I think as your new partner. It's
- 8:42Speaker 4: fair to say.
- 8:42Speaker 6: Being carried on with my ex. My ex is the
- 8:45Speaker 6: mother of my child. The only time we ever communicate
- 8:48Speaker 6: is when it's about my kid. So it's it's a
- 8:52Speaker 6: double standard saying you want me to have a relationship
- 8:54Speaker 6: with my daughter but not her mom. That doesn't make any.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Sense, not a double standard, Sasha, would it feel would
- 8:59Speaker 3: it feel any better, like kind of here's what I
- 9:02Speaker 3: do if I get if I get a text from VX,
- 9:06Speaker 3: I'll actually talk to my wife. But I'm like, hey,
- 9:08Speaker 3: they're asking about this, I'm gonna tell them this for
- 9:11Speaker 3: about the kids. Just so you kind of can keep
- 9:13Speaker 3: the communication open. So Sasha's not wondering what's going on.
- 9:18Speaker 3: She's got a clear picture, Like you're not having communications
- 9:22Speaker 3: communication communications.
- 9:23Speaker 1: So Sasha is sharing her insecurities, Dave is sharing his
- 9:27Speaker 1: insecurities or his vibes. So you guys need to communicate,
- 9:29Speaker 1: and I think you're in the right path. So there
- 9:32Speaker 1: is a there is no end of this relationship. Plus
- 9:34Speaker 1: Dave sent the flowers to her, Yeah, which is great.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yet yeah, yeah he did. By the way, On a
- 9:39Speaker 1: little side note, I gotta say something, Sasha, Rich and
- 9:42Speaker 1: I have been doing War of the Roses for about
- 9:43Speaker 1: twenty five years, don't but twenty four years. Twenty four years.
- 9:46Speaker 1: So when you say to him, I called the radio,
- 9:49Speaker 1: there's a lot of other shows that have ripped us
- 9:51Speaker 1: off and doing this segment now, so I would prefer
- 9:53Speaker 1: that you say, hey, I called John Jay and Rich
- 9:55Speaker 1: to do War of the Roses, not just the radio,
- 9:57Speaker 1: not just some radio show because there's all out of
- 10:00Speaker 1: them doing it.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Because that's what I called the radio.
- 10:06Speaker 6: Yeah it is.
- 10:06Speaker 1: You did call the radio, but you did call John
- 10:08Speaker 1: Jay Rich home of War the Roses. Because now I
- 10:14Speaker 1: get mad at Kyle's like imitation is a form of flattery.
- 10:17Speaker 1: It is, but it's also frustrating. Yes, it's also frustrating.
- 10:22Speaker 2: See I get it. I'm like, loyal to your radio.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Thank you, she's loyal to the radio.
- 10:26Speaker 1: She's good. People, suck it up. Stop talking. Actually, there
- 10:30Speaker 1: ya go, Sash, shut there you go. Okay, let's all
- 10:35Speaker 1: be happy for one another. Now, all right, thank you
- 10:37Speaker 1: guys for going there.
- 10:39Speaker 6: There you go.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Dave, you got our hearts. He's loyal, Sasha. Come on, guys,
- 10:43Speaker 1: come on now, all right. That's War the Roses, you guys,
- 10:47Speaker 1: John J. Rich
