A fierce fire erupted Wednesday night on North Railroad Avenue, starting in an abandoned 20x30-foot building and quickly spreading to the structure itself—with reports of small explosions. Flames also jumped to a wooded area behind the building, right along the train tracks, turning it into a multi-front emergency. Firefighters from Georgetown, Ellendale, and Milton, along with Sussex County EMS, worked together to contain the blaze and ensure no injuries.
