- 0:11Hello, this is Todd Royal.
- 0:13I am your host of Geopower Energy and Real Politics.
- 0:16And boy, today are we going to get real.
- 0:19We definitely got real last week when I want to talk to you about how net zero is an absolute fantasy.
- 0:25I really want to focus today on just continuing that fantasy.
- 0:29And I want you to know that something I don't do is I don't name people by name when I disagree with them.
- 0:45You know, you're supposed to say, oh, I I hate Tucker Carlson because he said this.
- 0:52I said that.
- 0:54No, I may disagree with some things he's doing right now, but the body of his work is pretty unmatched.
- 1:02In that regard, people that I really talk about often, whether the Breakthrough Institute or Talek Dossi, um Doomberg, which we're going to get to here in just a minute.
- 1:13But someone that I folks I deeply respect had said something recently.
- 1:20Um that we we certainly know what's going on right now.
- 1:25We certainly know that the Iran war, people disagree with it or they agree with it, but that there's this whole notion that you see people who typically vote Democrat or consider themselves green, environmentally friendly, that renewables will save us.
- 1:46In the U.S., it's going to be uh Professor Mark Jacobson from Stanford, who I deeply disagree with and whose work has been thoroughly discredited.
- 1:55I name him by name because what he says is dangerous.
- 2:00Uh in that regard, I'm not going to name this person by name because they're not dangerous.
- 2:05But somebody, there's a quote that came through things that I regularly read, and to pull back the veil on the show.
- 2:13I typically prepare for this show about 25 hours a week.
- 2:19Um that's how long it takes to be able to talk for, you know, this amount of time.
- 2:26But something interesting was said, uh, one of my sources who I love, uh, you know, you heard me talk about Talik Doshi.
- 2:34I would also say um Ed Ring, Joel Cotkin, Wendell Cox, these are these are people, the work they do is incredible.
- 2:42California Globe does great work.
- 2:43You know, Dunberg is somebody I think is probably doing just about the best work out there right now, uh, along with Telegdashi.
- 2:50Uh I it it's hard to dispute the work.
- 2:53It's so heavily sourced and researched, and typically what these guys are writing about, it's coming true.
- 3:00Not only are they, they're not just reporting the news, they're giving analysis and what I would say is predictive analysis, and most of the time it's correct.
- 3:10But there's someone uh who I absolutely love, wrote something that I absolutely disagreed with.
- 3:18And he said this goes, as suicide drones wing through the skies of the Middle East, bringing a sizable share of global ass global oil apps, global oil and gas shipments to a grinding halt.
- 3:31That's not fully true.
- 3:33We have lost a lot.
- 3:35It's not a grinding halt.
- 3:37Um, and let me say about this too.
- 3:39When somebody says it's to a grinding halt, that is a political issue.
- 3:46I've talked previously, and I'll say it again, World War II, the world we currently live in, that is a choice to let the Strait of Hormuz not stay open.
- 3:57That problem could be solved right now if all the Gulf states and if everybody in NATO invaded Iran and did total war.
- 4:07Total war is every single person is considered a war combatant.
- 4:11In many ways, you could say that's how Iran is conducting this war, Hamas does it that way, Hezbollah does it that way.
- 4:18Um I'm not advocating the targeting of civilians.
- 4:21I realize there's international law.
- 4:29But this problem of saying the Strait of Hormuz cannot open, the Houthis are going to shut down the Red Sea.
- 4:36You can solve that problem.
- 4:38These are political issues.
- 4:42If if NATO wanted to fully go in, fully get rid of the Iranian um terrorist mulahs, if you wanted to completely wipe out every single person that Hezbollah, Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, if you wanted to wipe out everybody, every person in Al Qaeda, all the Taliban, you can do that.
- 5:04You politically decide you don't want to do it.
- 5:06Same thing with Mexico.
- 5:07If you want to get rid of the cartels, you can do it.
- 5:09If you look at the history of warfare, the Romans solved the problems they wanted to solve, not telling you it's easy, not telling you it's not costly, that many, many lives will not be lost, but don't say as an analyst, it's a grinding halt.
- 5:26No, we've made a decision.
- 5:28All that decision is best, you know, is based on um leftism.
- 5:33Um it's based on this Marxist ideology, this environmental global warming ideology.
- 5:41These are ideologies that have infected Europe, which goes back to World War I where they were traumatized, and in World War II, the Europeans have simply given up and said, we're gonna live the good life.
- 5:52Don't blame them.
- 5:53Europe's a wonderful place.
- 5:55Um marriage and children are very hard.
- 5:58I have both.
- 5:59Uh working and not just being single.
- 6:02Those are hard, those that's a it's a very nice way to live.
- 6:05Doesn't mean you're gonna ever sustain your entire continent because you won't.
- 6:10But this notion of the Strait of Hormuz cannot be open.
- 6:14Absolutely could be open.
- 6:15You're gonna have to invade the country.
- 6:17You're gonna have to level Tehran the way Berlin was labeled, leveled in 44 and 45 by the Allies, let really led by the Russians.
- 6:27But these problems can be solved.
- 6:30It would be uh analogous to saying, oh, we, you know, the Pacific Ocean's closed down, the Japanese have closed it down.
- 6:38Okay.
- 6:39People go, well, why are you attacking Iran?
- 6:41Iran's been attacking America for 47 years.
- 6:44So the Japanese attacked us one time, uh, killed thousands of people, embarrassed the United States.
- 6:53The Iranians have done it for 47 years.
- 6:56They've not had a Pearl Harbor, but please make no mistake that the Iranians have been attacking the United States and American allies for 47 years.
- 7:08Don't tell me that something can come to a grinding halt.
- 7:12That is simply untrue.
- 7:16World War II teaches us.
- 7:18Look at Andrew Roberts' book about Churchill, Churchill, the best single volume biography you will ever read about Churchill.
- 7:26When he said unconditional surrender, I believe he said it at the Tehran conference to Stalin, and he took them by surprise.
- 7:34Do not say that something cannot be open.
- 7:37Do not say you can't get rid of the Houthis.
- 7:40Do not say that the Saudis and the Emirates and the Qatarians, uh, the Kuwaitis, the Bahranians cannot join a coalition with NATO led by the United States, and you cannot go level Iran.
- 7:54And this notion too, let the Iranian people rally around the flag, like Joe Kent just said on uh Sean Ryan's show.
- 8:03Um Mr.
- 8:04Kent has done things, God bless the man, the protection he's done for the United States.
- 8:10Um the man's earned the right to say what he wants.
- 8:14My only nuance to what he would say, and both those men have earned the right to say whatever they want.
- 8:20However, yes, Iran's a massive country.
- 8:24Yes, it's a horrible terrain.
- 8:26All of those things are true.
- 8:28You cannot say something can be solved when the the Nazi army, the Vermak, the SS was fully ensconced all over Europe.
- 8:40I understand that they used resources to kill the Jews.
- 8:44They could have gone to the German war machine.
- 8:46I understand all those things.
- 8:48But make no mistake, that was a war machine that made some strategic errors when they attacked Russia and declared war in the United States.
- 8:56If they had never done that, uh, I would contend with you that right now the uh Europe is speaking German and using the Deutschmark.
- 9:06If the Japanese had wanted to march right into the West Coast of the United States, they could have.
- 9:13So don't say that, oh, you know, uh the Strait of Hormuz, it it's it's it's it's closed down.
- 9:21Don't give me that.
- 9:22Don't give me that.
- 9:24It's closed down because that's a political choice to close it down.
- 9:28That's not that's that's not because uh it can't be done.
- 9:32You're telling me all of these um, you know, all of these marines, all of these um that they, yeah, you're you're telling me that all of these Marines, all of these different people, all of them.
- 9:48You're telling me that in no way they can they can't take back.
- 9:52You're telling me that in no way can the United States, the French, the British, though they're both.
- 10:00Feckless, the French and the British, but the Poles, the Italians.
- 10:06I don't care that Italian young people are against war.
- 10:10Well, we're all against war.
- 10:11Who's not against war?
- 10:13I get it.
- 10:14There's a lot that aren't.
- 10:16They're for it and the neocons, but most people are not for a war.
- 10:21They're not.
- 10:23But I hate to let you know a little secret.
- 10:26Tell me what happens, and no one will talk about this.
- 10:29Tell me what happens when Iran gets a bomb.
- 10:32I said it a few podcasts ago.
- 10:34Tell me what happens when Israel is their early warning systems give them 30 seconds as Iranian nuclear weapons are streaming in the skies toward them.
- 10:46What do you think they're going to do?
- 10:49If I were them and they would, okay.
- 10:53Our motto is never again.
- 10:55Never again.
- 10:57You're never putting us on rail cars to Auschwitz.
- 11:00You're never raping our women, cooking our children alive, experimenting on us, enslaving us in the worst possible fashion, and think that we're going to allow that to happen again.
- 11:15They're not.
- 11:18This the straight of, oh, the world is, oh my gosh, we're going through economic turmoil that you caused yourself.
- 11:30I would tell anybody, please go subscribe to Doomberg.
- 11:34I don't get any kickback from their organization.
- 11:38Um, I don't know who Doomberg is, uh, the green chicken uh, you know, what's it called?
- 11:45Avatar that they use, I think is brilliant.
- 11:48Great marketing, the writing is superb.
- 11:51The um the sourcing is good.
- 11:54Um the the prognostications they make, it's as good as anybody going.
- 12:01If if I were intelligence agencies, I would have them on a speed dial.
- 12:07There's a great article that they have that came into my inbox today where he talks, he talks about uh North Dakota, North Dakota and Australia, and Australia is in horrible shape because they refuse to, they refuse to drill for anything, because these fools believe in global warming.
- 12:24The same goes for the British, the same goes for New Zealand.
- 12:28And I get it.
- 12:29People, I want to be sensitive to somebody who goes, but the earth is uncontrollably cooking.
- 12:36Didn't you see this professor's data, and didn't you see the hockey stick, and didn't you see all of these things?
- 12:43I'm not a climatologist, but I'm an analyst who can read this stuff.
- 12:49Whether you are a creationist or an evolutionist, whatever you may be, however old you think the earth is.
- 12:57There have been times before the industrial revolution or before the use of fossil fuels where the earth was colder, it was warmer, had more CO2 in the air, it had less CO2 in the air, had more particulate matter in the air, and it had less.
- 13:11This was all before the explosion of the longevity of life, which has led to billions of people because of fossil fuels, because of the industrial revolution, because of urbanization, because of vaccines, medical care, sewer systems, mapping, uh HVAC systems, and all of this because of fossil fuels, that we've lived that we live longer.
- 13:37We have seen a minuscule uptick of it getting a little warmer.
- 13:41Then you'll read, well, it paused.
- 13:43Then you'll read, well, the CO2 does nothing.
- 13:45It's a trace gas in the universe.
- 13:47I don't believe anything any of you are saying.
- 13:50Because it doesn't factually, not because I'm a you want to call me a denier, call me denier.
- 13:55I I would look at President Obama and say, factually, it doesn't, it you don't make the case.
- 14:08So don't tell me that you, Australia, you did not decide to drill for fossil fuels because you believe the earth is warming.
- 14:18These are facts.
- 14:20Right now, the Chinese are building more coal plants than the United States even has in use.
- 14:26The United States is the only one to meet the Coyota Protocol and the Paris uh climate agreement.
- 14:33The only reason it is is we went from natural gas to oil because we have formations uh in North Dakota, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, particularly Texas and Louisiana, um that have trillions upon trillions of cubic feet of natural gas, and we have built pipelines and systems to turn that into electricity.
- 14:57That's it.
- 14:59The other stupid thing about all this, and this is all connected together to, you know, bringing sizable share of global oil and gas shipments to a grinding halt.
- 15:08You will see fools like a professor in Australia, and and I want to be able to get this fool's name correct because it's so it's such childishness.
- 15:19Um, and and God bless Duke Doomberg.
- 15:23Uh, they said talks about this professor who is published in the Sydney Morning Herald.
- 15:29Professor Ty Christopher, a member of the faculty of engineering at the University of Wallingong.
- 15:36When asked if more oil and gas drilling is the answer to preventing future crisis, like the one about to smash Australia, he had to say this.
- 15:44BS, he's the real world, real word.
- 15:47Also, you know, when people start cussing, and I have to watch it my own self, that your um your argument doesn't really hold merit.
- 15:55The solution for this problem is to turn the dial up further on the pathway we're already on, relying on renewables and electrify everything we use.
- 16:05In the last quarter of 2025, we hit 51% of our electricity coming from renewable sources.
- 16:12We're already well on our way to that.
- 16:14So why on earth would we go back to expensive fossil fuels?
- 16:18Nobody is going to war over sunshine and wind, which we have in abundance.
- 16:27I'm gonna call this guy out by name because you're a fool.
- 16:31If you are an engineer, and I've known brilliant engineers, I've written three books.
- 16:38I co-authored all three of them with it with a 50-plus year engineer named uh Ronald Stein.
- 16:44If this guy is an engineer, then I'm an astronaut.
- 16:48If he doesn't understand the second law of thermodynamics, and I do.
- 16:55If he doesn't understand what's so funny about the electrify everything movement, is these people go, where do you think electricity originates?
- 17:03Electricity is nothing.
- 17:05It is an electron that has to be produced.
- 17:08I wrote an excruciatingly boring book called Just Green Electricity, which talks about this.
- 17:14It drives me insane when I hear electrify everything.
- 17:18Okay.
- 17:19Where do you think that electricity originates?
- 17:22Remember this.
- 17:24A solar panel and a wind turbine, every single component comes from fossil fuel.
- 17:31Everyone.
- 17:33One of the most energy-intensive things you could do on the planet is make a solar pin.
- 17:38It has to be from silica from silica, and then it becomes polysilicone, and you have to grind it, you have to put the panel together.
- 17:44It is an excruciatingly tough endeavor with massive amounts of energy.
- 17:51It's required.
- 17:52It's the reason the Chinese have 70 to 90% of the market, and it's all done by coal.
- 17:57You can have that panel for 20 years.
- 17:59You'll never get over the carbon intensity it took to make it.
- 18:03Doesn't work.
- 18:06This nobody is going to war over sunshine and wind, which we have in abundance.
- 18:12No, what you have is a country on the verge of collapse because a fool like you believes in man-made global warming, and you think by killing your grid, which this is an engineer, by the way, a grid has to have 99.
- 18:30After it, hitting that grid at all times.
- 18:32Otherwise, you have to use an inverter.
- 18:35An inverter is a ridiculous way to balance a grid from a solar panel.
- 18:40Same thing with a wind turbine.
- 18:44You have to shut it, you know, you have to shut them off if it becomes too windy.
- 18:48Typically, it's about 15 to 25 miles per hour, is what it can take.
- 18:53Most wind turbines and solar panels, at the most, they run 40% of the time.
- 19:00At most.
- 19:04Where does Professor Christopher think all of the rare earth metals and minerals originate?
- 19:11It sure is in Australia.
- 19:13It's their uh belligerent next door neighbor or very nearby, China.
- 19:21What happens with these people?
- 19:23This is an ideologue.
- 19:25We're all ideologues.
- 19:27Uh atheists or agnostics like to claim the high ground and say they're not an ideologue.
- 19:32Sure, you are.
- 19:32You're just an ideologue who believes in nothing, and you think you have superiority because you don't have faith in anything.
- 19:39No, that makes you not believe in critical reasoning or Pascal's wager.
- 19:43You're still an ideologue.
- 19:44I am an ideologue for Jesus Christ.
- 19:47I have an ideological belief that Jesus Christ is the savior of the world and there's one way to God or Yahweh or the God of the Jewish Bible, and that is through Jesus Christ.
- 19:58That's an ideology that I have.
- 20:00Have.
- 20:00Professor Christopher has an ideology that goes against all laws of physics, all laws of uh the second law of thermodynamics, which is physics.
- 20:09It goes against the chemistry, the engineering, it goes against how grids are actually built, the technology.
- 20:16And I would say this to Professor Christopher, I truly hope that renewables can work.
- 20:21What he's also doesn't realize, which makes you go, he's an ideologue.
- 20:25This is a professor.
- 20:26This is probably a PhD.
- 20:28This is someone with an engineering degree.
- 20:30Those are hard degrees to obtain.
- 20:32This is an intelligent human being.
- 20:37Renewables, not only do they barely work, they take up massive amounts of land, 300 to 700 times more than can than a conventional fracking site to extract oil or natural gas, coal-fired power plant, a natural gas plant, even an oil fired plant, um, certainly a nuclear power plant.
- 21:01If this person really believed in electrifying everything, they would be building nuclear power plants faster than have them.
- 21:08Oh, wait, by the way, oh, Australia bans nuclear power plants.
- 21:14The rancid stupidity that Australia is under, what this entire, pardon me, this entire endeavor in Iran is shown is not only as Secretary Rubio said, why don't we just take all the troops out of Europe and you you take care of yourself?
- 21:33Or as President Trump said, you're a paper tiger, NATO.
- 21:37What it shows is all of these people, whether the Europeans, Australians, the New Zealanders, the Taiwanese and their foolishness of shutting down their nuclear power plant.
- 21:50All of these fools, every single solitary one of these fools have done this.
- 21:57They think in the name of global warming and climate change, if they use something that will never ever return the environmental benefit they think they're getting by using something that probably came from China or requires more energy than it's ever going to be offset by using it.
- 22:15Oh, by the way, when somebody says the wind and the sun, good for you.
- 22:20That's the marginal cost.
- 22:22Yes, when the wind's going through a turbine and the sun is hitting a solar panel, that's the marginal cost.
- 22:29Yes, that is free.
- 22:31Um, I hate to let them in all the secret.
- 22:33People do go to war over the wind and the sun.
- 22:38Yes, they do.
- 22:39People go to wars over, uh, they're not typically going to war over Antarctica because there's not a lot of wind and the sun.
- 22:46They go to war over places with good with good climates because good climates tend to have more things like oil, natural gas, um, they'll tend to have rare earth metals and minerals, they'll have ports, they'll be on ocean sides.
- 23:00Uh they'll be in places where, oh no, no, no, people want those things.
- 23:04And yes, Professor, they do go to war over the wind and the sun.
- 23:09There's a reason that Africa has been raging for centuries because it's got a lot of things that a lot of people want that has the wind and the sun hitting it.
- 23:18It's a foolish, foolish argument.
- 23:23And if you, if you, and let me credit Doomberg, because um the EIA, the U.S.
- 23:29Energy Information Administration published a detailed analysis all the way back in 2013 of Australia's shell potential, and the numbers were uh let me quote uh Doomberg, to put it mildly, rather impressive.
- 23:42It concluded that the sixth largest shell basins in the country, Australia hold an estimated 403 billion barrels of risk shell oil in place with 17.5 billion barrels as risk, technically recoverable shell oil resource.
- 23:59The way it works, and you're about to see this in Venezuela, when you open something up, oil and gas companies are going to go drill for it.
- 24:08When somebody says something is not technically recoverable, what they're typically saying is there isn't the political will or fool or fools like this professor, Professor Christopher or the fools who run Britain or the other fools who run the EU or the or Angola Merkel, the former just destructive president of Germany who did their energy transition and shut down their nuclear power plants and their coal and their natural gas and no fracking going on or no exploration hardly at all of any oil and natural gas in the EU.
- 24:49That means you've made it so expensive and so onerous, similar to California, oil and gas companies can't go drill for it.
- 24:56But yet somehow they can go down to Guyana and millions of barrels a day of oil is coming out.
- 25:02That's that's taking them less than 10 years to do it.
- 25:05Don't be surprised if Venezuela not only hits 4 million barrels of oil a day, but between six to 10 before the end of this decade.
- 25:13Once oil and gas companies, and I'd make the argument, the most brilliant people on the planet are petroleum engineers, and you can make a case that some of the greatest technology right now, outside of like Apple, Nvidia, um, and others is probably Saudi era, Aramico.
- 25:32Um, you can also put Rose Adams, the nuclear power company out of Russia.
- 25:37Um, but typically the most brilliant people you are going to find are these oil and natural gas companies.
- 25:44Typically they're the majors, whether Total out of France, any of you know, uh uh Italy, um, British petroleum or Shell, the former Royal Dutch Shell, um, and then certainly like Exxon, you know, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Conico Phillips.
- 26:02When you open things up to these folks, they can go get it.
- 26:06Funny how things become recoverable.
- 26:09Sure's funny how Texas was broke under Governor Ann Richards, gets a Republican governor who's not a crazy environmentalist, says we're going to open this thing up for business.
- 26:19Now Texas, at last count, is either the second or third large, just Texas producer of oil and natural gas in the world.
- 26:30So please, please do not tell me the Strait of Hormoes has come to a grinding halt.
- 26:38What this podcast is is about reality.
- 26:41These are political issues.
- 26:43That's all it is.
- 26:45Um, what then drives me even more crazy, and again, the person who wrote this, you guys do great work, but this is not great work on this.
- 26:55Uh I would say factually.
- 26:57It says the strategic significance of electrified technologies looms indisputably large.
- 27:05Again, where do you think that electrified technology comes from?
- 27:09Comes from China, comes from Russia, but in particular China.
- 27:13The proof is now on the pudding that solar panels are helping countries reduce exposure to natural gas scarcity and resultant price spikes, that electric vehicles are valuable for de-risking oil import dependence, and that mass produced fleets of armed drones are disruptively changing how militaries fight wars.
- 27:34That is produced.
- 27:35That is true.
- 27:36But those drones are coming from Iran, Russia, China.
- 27:41How do you think they're making them?
- 27:46Long pause.
- 27:48How does anybody think that they are making them?
- 27:51Well, let me tell you, they are making them because they use fossil fuels in their factories to produce electricity.
- 27:59What's so foolish about today's U.S.
- 28:02Democratic Party or somebody in Australia who believes in this nonsense is they think, oh, well, I just turn on a light and the light comes on.
- 28:12Truly, go ask AOC.
- 28:16Where does electricity originate?
- 28:19I would bet a yield, a year's salary, she couldn't give you an answer.
- 28:23Chuck Schumer, before he decided to become a deranged leftist, a deranged democrat.
- 28:29Okay, you want clean energy technology, Senator Schumer?
- 28:33Where do these come from?
- 28:35Do you want to do you want to onshore the manufacturing onto the United States?
- 28:40Do you want to do the dirty energy tensive work it takes to mine, process, refine, and then produce the magnets that are needed for uh wind turbines, these uh MGN magnets, Robert Bryce, great work.
- 28:54Um, if you want to read about magnets and what it takes to make them, no one's dead and better work on this than Robert Bryce.
- 29:03It it's it's it's a fool's game.
- 29:06Even this, the drones, what do you think those drones come from?
- 29:10Does anybody think that right now Ukraine, which is producing drones, are doing them from solar panels?
- 29:17Wind turbines, you know what?
- 29:19You guys blew up our electrical grid.
- 29:20Let's put up some more solar panels and wind turbines.
- 29:23The Russians won't hit that.
- 29:25And I mean, Ukraine is always so sunny and so windy.
- 29:33There is such a madness to me.
- 29:36It's such foolishness, and it's getting people killed.
- 29:41If you really, if you wanted to stop Iran without invading them and unfortunately having to slaughter uh millions of them in the process, every single country in the EU start drilling for oil and natural gas.
- 29:55Australia start drilling for oil and natural gas.
- 29:58If you really wanted to bring down
- 30:00The Russians, and again, I will credit Doomberg for this, because he's the one that opened my eyes to it.
- 30:05Bring every single molecule of oil and natural gas on the market and crash it.
- 30:11And then to make sure all companies will continue to do it, as opposed to giving them trillions of dollars that have been given that was just chronicled by Michael Schellenberger this past week.
- 30:22He said two trillion dollars has been wasted on green technologies.
- 30:26Take all of that money moving forward and give it to oil and gas companies and say, hey, what we really want to do is crash the price of oil down to about five to ten dollars a barrel and we want gas uh almost in the negative territory, but we're gonna give you money to make sure you still stay profitable.
- 30:43You would end Vladimir Putin in a heartbeat.
- 30:46You would, if you onshore every rare earth metal, and mineral and did it all in the United States.
- 30:52If you took away the refining capacity that the Chinese currently had, if you expanded the electrical grid 4x in the next 10 years, you would collapse the Chinese communist party.
- 31:04The reason I I called this show uh originally geopower energy in real politics is for this reason.
- 31:13GeoPower, which is how nations, which is really how the world interacts with each other, it's only backed by one thing, militaries, and you can only have militaries if you have energy.
- 31:23Hence the second part, energy, and then real politics is saying, I want to look at the reality of the political situation.
- 31:31So when somebody says to me, who I deeply respect, bringing a sizable share of global ass global, has to set it again, global oil and gas shipments to a grinding halt, and that now the proof is in the pudding that solar panels are helping countries reduce exposure to natural gas scarcity.
- 31:51Those are false statements.
- 31:53You produced your own scarcity, California, because you vote for Democrats, like that fool Gavin Newsom.
- 31:59You did this to yourself, Australia, because you think that somehow you're stopping some false notion of global warming.
- 32:06You did this to yourself, the EU because you think, you think, oh, if we do renewables, that's going to solve everything and let in uh tens of millions of military age radical Muslims because we're so traumatized from World War One and two.
- 32:25We don't want to continue our society.
- 32:27So we want to outsource everything from baby making to oil and natural gas to somebody else so we can just travel around our beautiful countries on our wonderful trains, paid for by the American military and see incredible things, which it is incredible, but we want to take no responsibility for anything.
- 32:47Stop thinking this nonsense.
- 32:52That is geopower resides with the Chinese communist party.
- 32:57Geopower resides with the United States saying we're going to bring every molecule of oil and natural gas up out of the ground that we can.
- 33:07Okay.
- 33:07My name is Todd Royal.

- 35:35And we are back for the second half of Geopower, Energy, and Real Politics.
- 35:40I am your host, Todd Royal.
- 35:43We'd left off, and we're we're talking about some very hard issues.
- 35:48Um it comes to the reality of geopower, geopolitics, and what the Iran war has revealed.
- 35:56And me being very critical, these people who go, oh, the straightest closed, it'll never reopen.
- 36:01Use renewables.
- 36:03Nobody goes to war over the wind and the sun.
- 36:07The problem with today's world, and the reason I recommend people so highly, like the group Doomberg, uh Tilik Doshi, is that they're telling you the real politics, the reality of how things are.
- 36:22Um physics, engineering, chemistry.
- 36:26My degrees are not in any of those, but certainly my tenure now in the energy world and the executive part of the energy world as an analyst um as a peeon who used to look at uh land contracts when I was in college for an oil and gas firm, mineral rights in the Southeast United States, uh, doing economic development.
- 36:52There are some factual uh things that you have to look at.
- 36:57One of the interesting part too, you know, factually is I I love sports, previous podcasts talked about LeBron James, and it's fascinating to LeBron James because he's playing at such a high level.
- 37:10And when you look at his routine, I would tell anyone go YouTube, gets I read something or saw a video.
- 37:16He gets to the basketball arena five hours before each game.
- 37:21And his routine is just unbelievable.
- 37:24You see the guy without his shirt on, there's not an ounce of fat.
- 37:27The man looks like and plays like he's somebody who's 21 years old.
- 37:31It's it's really phenomenal because factually, yes, he has the money to sleep better, eat better, working out.
- 37:42There's a lot of people who have that kind of money and they're not doing what he's doing.
- 37:46In other words, the man has factually said, I'm going to be working out five hours a day to get ready for a basketball game, where he's generally the smartest person on the court, if not arguably the smartest person to ever play basketball.
- 38:00That's a fact.
- 38:02There's a fascinating, as we're talking about this whole issue of, oh, we can't um, you know, we can't, the the this the Suez Canal is at a grinding halt.
- 38:17Solar panels are reducing exposure to natural gas scarcity, which is if you look at our solar panels made, it's made with natural gas and it's made with um it is made with a fossil fuel.
- 38:32It's not made with electricity.
- 38:34Electricity is a byproduct that came through the energy which made a turbine spin, which produced electricity.
- 38:42In other words, you're saying things that are so as Thomas Sowell calls it, first stage thinking.
- 38:49An electric vehicle, when people go, oh, if you'd use electric vehicles, see, you wouldn't have to do that, just the grid.
- 38:55Go do an experiment, get about oh, 10 homes or so.
- 39:01Uh, most of them will be hooked up to let's say the same transformer.
- 39:04That's a lot, but a transform is what's gonna take the electricity, put it down to AC, um, alternate current, take that, and all 10 people, let's say around six o'clock, seven o'clock, eight o'clock at night, when people are home watching TV, eating dinner, um, using high electricity appliances like their washing machine, their dryer, they're taking showers, baths, computers are plugged in, et cetera, et cetera.
- 39:36Go plug in your electric vehicle at the same time.
- 39:38If you're a two family home, let's say both of you have electric vehicles, you'll blow the transformer.
- 39:44Can't handle it.
- 39:46The grid can't handle it.
- 39:48That's what's so stupid about the electrify everything movement.
- 39:52A grid has to be built out.
- 39:54Now, if you want to build the grid out the way the Chinese have, I think their grid is four X larger than the
- 40:00U.S.
- 40:00grid, which means that's larger than the European grid, then you can do that.
- 40:05But remember all those components, which are highly specialized components, which then you have to go build transmission lines for all this, which in the United States, the environmentalists don't like that very much.
- 40:18So the very people who say go electrify everything are the same people who won't let you build uh high voltage transmission lines, more power plants, or tell me, do you want to dot the countryside with solar panels and wind turbines, which every single one of those things are made by fossil fuels, and all of those components somewhere, somehow, oil has touched them.
- 40:42You would not be alive without a barrel of oil.
- 40:46So what's so foolish in the reality of saying a grinding halt, more solar panels, more electric vehicles, is even if the Chinese were not a militaristic communist country, they're the ones that still control everything.
- 41:06You never, that's common sense not to be exposed to one thing.
- 41:10You don't have different car companies because you want different choices of cars, same thing with grocery stores, the same thing with clothes, but yet you want your entire economy to run on things whose components essentially come from one country, and that is China.
- 41:29The level of foolishness, it's just so it's it's unheard of how foolish it is.
- 41:40What's also so foolish is that if if you look at what the world has done with the with the Strait of Hormoes is the term is called leakage.
- 41:51And Ron Stein, my co-author has done great work on this.
- 41:56Leakage means I'm California.
- 41:59And most people don't understand this, what I'm going to talk about.
- 42:02It's not your full-time job.
- 42:06Go put into Chat GPT or Google.
- 42:10Leakage and environmental stewardship, leak leakage, and lowering your emissions.
- 42:17California now imports upwards of 75% of all of their energy because they want to be seen as environmentally friendly.
- 42:26We don't drill for anything, we don't have any pipelines.
- 42:29So look how low our emissions are.
- 42:32No, you let other countries do it.
- 42:36That's what's so foolish about the whole alternative energy or turbines, solar panels, electric vehicles, et cetera, uh storage systems.
- 42:46Those components are coming from China.
- 42:48They do not work without rare earth metals and minerals that the United States is trying to reopen.
- 42:55But right now, if China decided they're never going to send us any solar panels, any magnets for wind turbines, any components for electric vehicles, the markets would crash.
- 43:07Maybe Elon Musk would keep Tesla open, but just about every turbine manufacturer, solar panels, et cetera, they would go out of business.
- 43:20The entire industry would collapse.
- 43:24Get rid of all the subsidies, and the entire industry will collapse as well.
- 43:28But that's a different podcast.
- 43:31So when you've allowed now about half of the world's natural gas, ammonia, um things like helium, but just fertilizer, the components to make fertilizer, which one of the biggest ones is natural gas.
- 43:48Half of all of that, all of that comes through the Suez Canal.
- 44:00The rabid stupidity of the world to allow this to happen.
- 44:05And you have to always ask yourself well, who is it?
- 44:09Is it the United Nations?
- 44:11Sure.
- 44:13But it's also all of us.
- 44:16We become fat and happy, the West.
- 44:19We don't want to look at what our grandparents had to look at, or great grandparents.
- 44:27How are things made?
- 44:28How does the world work?
- 44:30How do I get this air conditioning?
- 44:32This car, how do I get the grass in my front yard to grow?
- 44:36How do I get this food?
- 44:39Go watch the show Landman.
- 44:41There's now the famous monologue from Billy Bob Thornton where he talks about how a wind turbine is not green.
- 44:48Good job, Taylor Sheridan.
- 44:50Seriously.
- 44:52If you wrote that, Mr.
- 44:55Sheridan, you know more than 99.9% of the Democratic Party, academia, um, law, certainly the very industry you're a part of in Hollywood, you are an intelligent man.
- 45:10And good job for you, Billy Bob Thornton, because you sold it.
- 45:14You did a great job telling uh a big truth about wind turbines.
- 45:20And I love how you said, don't get me started on solar panels.
- 45:23I would have added, don't get me started on EVs and uh storage systems at grid scale, or what's referred to as battery energy storage systems at grid scale.
- 45:33But the reality, the first part of this program, this podcast, we talked about the reality of don't tell me you can't open something up because you can.
- 45:42And don't tell me a solar panel is saving the world because it's not.
- 45:47In the same in the same breath, places like California, don't tell me your gas is expensive when you're losing people.
- 45:57There's an article uh that in the California Globe where it said Los Angeles County has largest population loss in the country, the U.S.
- 46:06Census reports.
- 46:07Why do you think that is?
- 46:09Um, I lived in Los Angeles for 26 years.
- 46:12It's a wonderful place.
- 46:14The weather's phenomenal, it's beautiful, the light is perfect.
- 46:19Everything about it's perfect, except a bunch of crazy Democrats have taken over.
- 46:24And then you have these communists, which people go, oh, the left.
- 46:27No, stop saying that.
- 46:29It's Democrats.
- 46:31When you say the left or even leftists, which I have a problem doing sometimes, you're not talking about a Republican.
- 46:40You're not talking about the AFD in Germany.
- 46:42You're not talking about the conservatives in power in Japan.
- 46:46You're talking about Democrats.
- 46:49You're talking about greens.
- 46:51You're talking about socialist and communist.
- 46:54Um that's what you're talking about.
- 46:57So use the proper phraseology.
- 47:01It says in five years, Los Angeles County has lost over 322,000 residents.
- 47:11Why do you think that is?
- 47:13Go try to live there.
- 47:15What these fools have done is they don't allow you to build houses because they think it's global warming.
- 47:22They don't want to build any power plants, pipelines, get rid of gas stations, make everything expensive because they believe if you put everybody in a high-rise building, well, and you densify everything, well, that's better than people getting married, having children, and living in single family homes.
- 47:40That's how crazy these people are.
- 47:43Joel Kotkin has done work on this that said this is absolutely wrong.
- 47:51It's so foolish.
- 47:53And places like California, honestly, you get you deserve what you're about to get are in biblical terms, you reap what you sow.
- 48:02Same thing for you, Australia, same thing for you, Europe.
- 48:05Frankly, Taiwan, same thing for you.
- 48:08And New Zealand and the rest of you idiots that believe in this stuff.
- 48:15Energy is what runs the world.
- 48:20Energy is geopower.
- 48:24Geopolitics is how nations interact with each other, or how they're um the phrase I think it comes from uh Aquinas, Thomas Aquinas, self-interest rightly understood.
- 48:36GeoPower says who's gonna win.
- 48:39And in today's little stupid Western world, where we don't want winners and we don't want losers, and we want everybody, we want everybody to be equal.
- 48:48That's a fantasy.
- 48:51What you want is a quality of opportunity.
- 48:55You do not want a quality of results.
- 48:57Guess what?
- 48:58None of us are ever going to be LeBron James.
- 49:01Not only do most of us don't have the drive to work out five hours a day like Mr.
- 49:05James.
- 49:06We're not 6'9, 265 and blessed with a body that seemingly doesn't break down, but then has the drive to eat perfectly, seemingly not hardly drink, stay married to one woman, be faithful to her, raise his children while still while still keeping a perfect body.
- 49:25We're not equal.
- 49:28We're not equal.
- 49:33Go look at a professional athlete.
- 49:36We're not equal.
- 49:39But then go look at someone who can rebuild a car.
- 49:42We're not equal.
- 49:44Most people cannot rebuild a car.
- 49:47Most people probably can't build a house.
- 49:54It's a fantasy.
- 49:58California.
- 50:00Is going to implode on itself.
- 50:03That's a fact.
- 50:06I don't know when.
- 50:08And if this continues in Iran, and if we invade, if if the United States invades it, and if the Emirates join us, which supposedly they're thinking about doing, if the Israelis continue to pound the Iranians, and the Iranians continue to pound the Israelis.
- 50:30And if the French and the British and the Italians and the Swiss and the feckless Spaniards with their socialist president who's allowed 500,000 illegal aliens with the king of Spain, they just gave amnesty to because they're liberal globalists, which really means they're just satanic people and they're people who are lazy who voted for them.
- 50:56Well, make no mistake, Spain.
- 50:59You're going to have a blackout again.
- 51:01And people are going to die.
- 51:02And if that's what you want, the problem with wanting people to die is eventually it happens to you.
- 51:10The problem with saying, oh, I'm going to take down everybody else and live the high life.
- 51:17How'd that work out for Stalin?
- 51:20How'd that even work out for Mal?
- 51:22Let's say they live the perfect life, perfectly fed and money and power and the perfect relationships.
- 51:31Well, what happens when you die?
- 51:38That the world has allowed the Middle East to control half of everything, half of the food, half of what it takes for food, and over 20% of your energy, which really is the things that are going to make your food and your clothing and your shelter and meet Maslov's hierarchy of needs.
- 51:56Then unfortunately, the people who've allowed that, then you deserve what's going to happen to you.
- 52:00And maybe it will wake you up.
- 52:04There's a famous Bible story in 1 Corinthians where Paul tells the church at Corinth.
- 52:11There's a man, I believe he has slept with his.
- 52:36Okay, some of you may go, I don't believe in all that.
- 52:38Okay, just go with the metaphor then of the story.
- 52:42Put them away from people and let leave them to his own devices.
- 52:48You can find uh grim fairy tales that will talk about that, maybe even a Dickens novel or Shakespeare.
- 52:54Go with me that way.
- 52:56I'm gonna stick with the biblical version.
- 52:59They take the guy, they give him to Satan or whatever bad force you want to think.
- 53:05I'll say Satan, torments the man.
- 53:08And the man comes back and says, I was wrong, I repent.
- 53:12And Paul in 2 Corinthians, he says, bring him back in the church.
- 53:16He's he has um he has repented.
- 53:21So bring him back.
- 53:23Well, here's here's the problem though when it comes to a nation or a state like California.
- 53:33I can change my heart in a moment.
- 53:38May take us some time, but I can reach that level.
- 53:41I've reached a level of repentance or sorrow or I want to change.
- 53:46Ask how long it takes to build a refinery, refineries that have closed in California.
- 53:51Ask how long it takes to build pipelines, nuclear power plants, natural gas plants.
- 53:56Give an example.
- 54:12Three and a half years, we can't take any new orders from you.
- 54:16And all three have said they're building gigawatts worth of new factories, and even then people are saying that's not enough.
- 54:24So California and Australia, what do you want to do?
- 54:27You want to die?
- 54:29Go right ahead.
- 54:30Don't think we should save you.
- 54:33Um, what do you want to say to uh the EU and NATO?
- 54:37You you don't want to help the United States, you don't agree with it.
- 54:42But U.S.
- 54:42troops are there.
- 54:44United States came to your aid uh when Russia invaded Ukraine.
- 54:49What do you want to do?
- 54:52You don't produce your own energy.
- 54:58What's been the point of this episode?
- 55:00This episode's gonna is reality.
- 55:05If this war continues, there is going to be severe economic pain for people.
- 55:12The Qataris will rebuild their gas facility.
- 55:17They've lost, they've lost some, but they're gonna continue to make money.
- 55:21Their country will continue.
- 55:24Saudis, the Bahranians, the Emiratis, the Kuwaitis, they'll all continue.
- 55:29The Iranians, they will continue.
- 55:33The people who continue to not make changes, I would say you got a couple of months, or at most you got till the end of the decade, and you're gonna start seeing some real problems occur.
- 55:52Taiwan has about 11 days worth of liquid natural gas and storage.
- 55:58Does anyone not think the Chinese cannot blockade that island?
- 56:03Starve these people to death?
- 56:05What happens when the Chinese figure out how to make semiconductors, which they're rapidly doing?
- 56:13You want to go help Taiwan?
- 56:15You want China to be in charge of semiconductors?
- 56:18Everything we use has a semiconductor, all that comes from oil and natural gas, or has to be the electrify everything crowd.
- 56:27There's a reality, what's going on with the Suez Canal that's been deeply revealed.
- 56:33Thank you for listening.
- 56:35This is Todd Royal.
- 56:37I'm the host of Geopower, Energy, and Real Politics, and God bless you.
