  Speaker 1: a spot, guys that I think has got to be

  Speaker 1: at the top, maybe if not the top, but in

  Speaker 1: the top one or two positions of need for the Patriots.

  Speaker 1: I think this is really a possibility for the twenty

  Speaker 1: first pick. I think there are some options for the

  Speaker 1: Patriots at the twenty first pick um and there were

  Speaker 1: some guys I think that will not be around for

  Speaker 1: the twenty first pick. So a lot to sort of

  Speaker 1: sift through here. Which guy stands at the top of

  Speaker 1: your list? First overall, and then we'll get to who
• 1:13
  Speaker 1: we think might be available for the Patriots. GOTIEZ who
• 1:15
  Speaker 1: you got? I know, you gotta cute up. I'm a
• 1:17
  Speaker 1: big sauce guy, sauce and tall, good reach, and he
• 1:22
  Speaker 1: presses really strong jabs the receiver a lot, kind of
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: agitates the receiver. Yeah, stands out to me. Yeah, I'm
• 1:28
  Speaker 1: with you, And I mean I think I think there's
• 1:30
  Speaker 1: some question with a lot of these guys of you know,
• 1:32
  Speaker 1: traditional man long cornerbacks. He's that guy. I think he
• 1:37
  Speaker 1: has all all everything you need. He checks those boxes.

  Speaker 1: Some of the questions start to pop up a little

  Speaker 1: bit as you go down the list, I think, but
• 1:43
  Speaker 1: I think for me, he's the cleanest and he's probably
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: going in the top ten. Yeah. I don't see anyway

  Speaker 1: he gets out of the top ten. I agree with

  Speaker 1: you guys, long and athletic, you know, just made a
• 1:52
  Speaker 1: lot of plays, um, you know, for Cincinnati, and I
• 1:57
  Speaker 1: think he probably is the top guy on the board.

  Speaker 1: I like Stingley. I like Derek Stingley a lot from LSU.

  Speaker 1: The questions that are hard to answer, what happened the
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: last two years? I think it's a you know, Liz
• 2:08
  Speaker 1: Frank injury, which is a significant injury that he dealt with.

  Speaker 1: But I think they heal and you know, by all accounts,
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: he's he's healthy and ready to go. That that year
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: that he had in the International Championship year in nineteen
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: was was incredible. And that's what I'm going off of
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: is just you know that the speed, the toughness, the
• 2:29
  Speaker 1: ball skills, the length, I mean, just the ability to
• 2:32
  Speaker 1: play press man. Those two guys to me stood out
• 2:35
  Speaker 1: among the rest. I don't think either one will be
• 2:37
  Speaker 1: available at twenty one. So if we moved a little
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: bit further down the line, First, let me ask you
• 2:44
  Speaker 1: guys your opinion, because I think I already gave you
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: what my opinion was. Where does cornerback fall on the
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: list of priorities for the Patriots. I think it's it's
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: super high. I'm surprised they didn't draft it last year.
• 2:55
  Speaker 1: I felt like J. C. Jackson was probably gonna leave
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: and I had it as a you know, significant need
• 3:00
  Speaker 1: last year and they didn't really address it. You ended up,
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: you know, going after the draft and you know, after
• 3:05
  Speaker 1: training camp and getting Sean Wade, never really got a
• 3:08
  Speaker 1: look at him in a Patriots, you know, uniform in
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: preseason so to speak, kind of behind the scenes. This
• 3:13
  Speaker 1: year they signed Terrence Mitchell, Malcolm Butler, and Butler we
• 3:16
  Speaker 1: know was out last year of the game, so those
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: are guys kind of their common middle of the road
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: at veteran that's kind of a stop gap and you
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: hope to improve it. So I think it's a huge need.

  Speaker 1: I think it's a position you could absolutely see at
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: twenty one. And I think as we get down, I
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: mean Trent mcduffee to me, despite his lack of size,
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: only you know, five ten ninety three, not you know,
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: ideal for one of those outside kind of corners, but aggressive,
• 3:41
  Speaker 1: smart all over the place. He just screams to me
• 3:46
  Speaker 1: a Patriot, But maybe not exactly what they need. I
• 3:49
  Speaker 1: think they need a long outside corner, maybe more like
• 3:52
  Speaker 1: kier Elam from Florida. He's got some issues, but I
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: think when you look at him, he looks like a
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: traditional man outside corner. But I really like mc duffy.

  Speaker 1: I think he just he screams Patriots to me with
• 4:02
  Speaker 1: the way he plays, the aggressiveness, the feisty downhill play.

  Speaker 1: I love McDuffie taste. Where do you feel about Patriots
• 4:09
  Speaker 1: in cornerback. Do you feel like it's something they have
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: to do well they should take a long look at
• 4:13
  Speaker 1: in the first round. I think it's definitely a top
• 4:15
  Speaker 1: two issue. My thing is if you're taking one in
• 4:17
  Speaker 1: the first round, I think they need to be a
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: day one starter, and I feel like they're about two
• 4:21
  Speaker 1: or three two or three day one starters in this draft.

  Speaker 1: I like McDuffie a lot. Somebody else's Andrew Booth, who
• 4:26
  Speaker 1: steps stands out to me a lot totally six nine
• 4:29
  Speaker 1: six nine um and a big ball hawking guy, which
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: is big five picks in his career. So yeah, I
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: mean he's another one UM and I think a lot
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: of these guys are maybe a little bit more in
• 4:42
  Speaker 1: the zone mold Um, but I love Boot. It's similar
• 4:45
  Speaker 1: to McDuffie, which just the kind of guys that come
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: downhill and run support and play hardy. They go to
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: the ball and you know they tackle well, they tackle aggressive,
• 4:55
  Speaker 1: and those traits to me always are Patriots, like I
• 4:58
  Speaker 1: think they put a high premium on corners that are
• 5:00
  Speaker 1: willing to tackle and get their nose in there. Booth
• 5:04
  Speaker 1: he can do both. Probably a little bit of a
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: cur for him, but but he I think those you know,
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: four guys that we've talked about, I think they're all
• 5:11
  Speaker 1: outstanding and they're probably you know, all probably first round picks.
• 5:14
  Speaker 1: And then you kind of get into the day two
• 5:16
  Speaker 1: guys where there's maybe a little bit more questions. Kyler
• 5:18
  Speaker 1: Gordon from Washington another one who's you know, maybe in
• 5:21
  Speaker 1: that realm. I like McDuffie better, but you know, as
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: we saw, you know, here with Miles Bryant, I mean,
• 5:28
  Speaker 1: he's you know, probably a lower end than those guys.
• 5:30
  Speaker 1: But but the Washington type, those guys, it seems like
• 5:32
  Speaker 1: they're on their radar. Yeah. And I think these guys
• 5:34
  Speaker 1: are a little bit bigger than Miles Bryant too, which
• 5:36
  Speaker 1: gives them a little bit more physicality. H And I
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: also think, you know, you know, Roger McCreary from Auburn
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: in Gordon that you just mentioned, you know, the special
• 5:45
  Speaker 1: teams element, I mean, I hate it, but I know
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: that the Patriots really value it, you know that they're
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: looking for that now. In general, I think these defensive backs,
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: all of these guys that you're talking about, if you
• 5:57
  Speaker 1: want to use them on special teams, they all have
• 5:58
  Speaker 1: the skill set to do it. UM, So I don't
• 6:01
  Speaker 1: need a guy who was a special teamer in college
• 6:03
  Speaker 1: per se. But I do think McCreary, Kyler Gordon and
• 6:07
  Speaker 1: those guys they have some of that ability and they
• 6:09
  Speaker 1: did they showed it, um at the college level. I'm
• 6:12
  Speaker 1: gonna give you a wild card. You know. It's probably
• 6:15
  Speaker 1: a Day two guy that UM, I didn't know really
• 6:18
  Speaker 1: anything about until I started reading. Is that Tarik Wolin
• 6:21
  Speaker 1: from UH Texas San Antonio. And I say this because
• 6:25
  Speaker 1: he's only been a cornerback for a couple of years.
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: He started his career as a wide receiver. Um. Just
• 6:31
  Speaker 1: incredible athletic gifts. Um, that's the stuff you can't teach. UM.
• 6:35
  Speaker 1: But you know, you know he's good. Really big guy too,
• 6:38
  Speaker 1: you know, six six three six four two oh five.
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: But runs. Uh, you know it's not it's not one
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: of these big long corners that has the locked hips
• 6:47
  Speaker 1: and can't move. He's got some fluidity to his game,
• 6:51
  Speaker 1: and uh, he's obviously going to need some some time
• 6:53
  Speaker 1: to develop from a tech you know, from a technique standpoint,
• 6:57
  Speaker 1: and tease to you a point, you know you're looking
• 6:59
  Speaker 1: for a day one, day one starter. This is not
• 7:01
  Speaker 1: that guy. This guy's gonna need some time. That's why
• 7:03
  Speaker 1: I say maybe a day two pick um, second third round.

  Speaker 1: But he's a guy that just flashed through my radar
• 7:11
  Speaker 1: just because of the physical gifts. Yeah, I think he's
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: one of those guys. Um. But like I know a
• 7:16
  Speaker 1: lot of Patriots connection with Zaiah McCollum from from sam
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: Houston State, which is similar, good size, has those dimensions
• 7:23
  Speaker 1: that you look for in terms of a long press
• 7:25
  Speaker 1: man corner. But you know, a small school guy and
• 7:28
  Speaker 1: but somebody who tests really well. I mean McCollum ran
• 7:30
  Speaker 1: a four three three um, so he can run. It's
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: but you know you're projecting a little bit now, and
• 7:35
  Speaker 1: I think that's you know, the territory you get in
• 7:37
  Speaker 1: here with the later day guys. And one more that
• 7:39
  Speaker 1: I would I would throw in are actually two more.

  Speaker 1: Kobe bryant Um another one that you know stands out
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: Cincinnati played with with Sauce as well, and and Cam
• 7:48
  Speaker 1: Taylor Britt was another one I liked from from Nebraska.

  Speaker 1: Maybe a little bit undersized, but you know, feisty guys
• 7:54
  Speaker 1: that have good feet and you know, can they play man,
• 7:57
  Speaker 1: can they play zone? I think he's the guy that
• 7:58
  Speaker 1: could play some safety too, that too, and that, and
• 8:01
  Speaker 1: that's another big piece of it. I think the versatility.
• 8:03
  Speaker 1: That's part of the reason I like mcduffiee. He seems
• 8:05
  Speaker 1: like that. It's just, uh, it doesn't seem like a
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: great class of traditional um, you know man corners. But
• 8:11
  Speaker 1: there's a lot of guys that are good football players.
• 8:12
  Speaker 1: I think anybody, uh, you know, off the radar for
• 8:15
  Speaker 1: you late round. Guy that I liked a lot was
• 8:17
  Speaker 1: Marcus Marcus Jones from Houston. Size a bit concerning five,
• 8:21
  Speaker 1: eight hundred seventy five, but slot corner, great kick returner
• 8:25
  Speaker 1: with nine career kick returns, and he also played a
• 8:27
  Speaker 1: bit of wide receiver too. Versatility, say, but the special
• 8:30
  Speaker 1: teams element, and I think they aren't going to need
• 8:33
  Speaker 1: to sort of address that return angle. And this is
• 8:36
  Speaker 1: a position that you get a returner from, you know, corners,
• 8:39
  Speaker 1: defensive backs, there are a lot of them are returners.
• 8:41
  Speaker 1: So Tea's good job for iron one out that had
• 8:44
  Speaker 1: some some extensive experience returning punts and kicks and whatnot,
• 8:49
  Speaker 1: because you know Gunneralschewsky's gone, they really haven't had. Yeah,
• 8:53
  Speaker 1: Montgomery can do a little bit like having like that
• 8:55
  Speaker 1: don't stop gap that like could be there, but you
• 8:57
  Speaker 1: can probably Hey we got we gotta talk about an
• 9:01
  Speaker 1: Alabama guy, right, Josh, Joe, you know, throw one more
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: out there. But again it's a you know not not
• 9:05
  Speaker 1: maybe some of the corners of Alabama pass, but I
• 9:08
  Speaker 1: think you always have to keep those guys. There's no
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: Cyrus Jones. Yeah, I mean, I do think that corners
• 9:15
  Speaker 1: intriguing because it's it's kind of, uh a catch twenty two.

  Speaker 1: I think it's a it's a high need Yep. I

  Speaker 1: don't think it's a great class. I think, like T said,

  Speaker 1: there's a couple of Day one starters that I don't

  Speaker 1: think we'll be available at twenty one, So I don't

  Speaker 1: think you want to force it. Yeah, I think it's

  Speaker 1: probably unlikely that the Patriots are going to take one

  Speaker 1: of these guys at twenty one. I think there are
• 9:36
  Speaker 1: a couple of options. But I kind of agree with
• 9:39
  Speaker 1: the way Matisse said it. You need a guy to
• 9:40
  Speaker 1: step in and start right away if you're gonna take
• 9:42
  Speaker 1: him that high. And I don't I don't know if
• 9:45
  Speaker 1: if Booth or McDuffie, like, I don't know if those
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: guys are day one starters, and I would say that
• 9:51
  Speaker 1: to me is that this position is the trade down spot.

  Speaker 1: So if you trade out of twenty one, you pick
• 9:55
  Speaker 1: up an extra day two pick, you get maybe late twenties,

  Speaker 1: early thirties. That's where one of these you get the

  Speaker 1: same guy you we're gonna take a twenty one if

  Speaker 1: you've got forced to tell you value, all right, love
