- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi, Vicki. Good morning. You're on the air. How are you?
- 0:02Speaker 1: Thanks for holding.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Hi.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Good morning. I'm good.
- 0:05Speaker 4: How are you?
- 0:05Speaker 5: Good.
- 0:05Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 0:07Speaker 3: Well, so I've been dating this guy about eight months now.
- 0:13Speaker 3: And I am at his apartment constantly. But he has
- 0:15Speaker 3: this roommate named Sam who I've literally never met because
- 0:18Speaker 3: apparently he works nights. They're fine, whatever, something. But then
- 0:22Speaker 3: last week, I'm over there alone. And this, like, drop-dead
- 0:27Speaker 3: gorgeous woman walks in. looks at me sitting on the
- 0:29Speaker 3: couch and goes, oh, you must be the girlfriend. Guys,
- 0:34Speaker 3: Sam is Samantha. I did not know that. And Samantha
- 0:39Speaker 3: is not just his roommate. Samantha is his ex-wife.
- 0:43Speaker 6: Oh, wow. Absolutely not. There's a couple levels of layers.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 0:49Speaker 6: Uh-huh, yeah.
- 0:52Speaker 3: So they got divorced three years ago, but I guess
- 0:55Speaker 3: they couldn't afford to get a place on their own,
- 0:57Speaker 3: so they decided to just like I guess, like, stay roommates.
- 1:01Speaker 3: I don't know. They have, like, separate bedrooms, allegedly separate lives,
- 1:04Speaker 3: and no hooking up or whatever. He says, like, they're
- 1:07Speaker 3: basically brother and sister now, which to me makes me feel, like, worse, actually, somehow.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:13Speaker 7: It's weird.
- 1:14Speaker 3: But here's the crazy part. She was actually, like, so
- 1:16Speaker 3: nice to me, and I don't know. He said he
- 1:19Speaker 3: didn't tell me because he said it would make it worse, but, like, baby, listen. Like,
- 1:24Speaker 3: you live with your former wife.
- 1:25Speaker 8: Like, it came weird, okay?
- 1:26Speaker 6: Right, right.
- 1:28Speaker 9: Hello.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Like, I'm going to make it weird. I don't think
- 1:31Speaker 3: I can make it weirder than this.
- 1:33Speaker 6: That's right. She said it right. It came weird.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Yeah, it did.
- 1:37Speaker 9: It did.
- 1:39Speaker 3: And I really do love him, but I don't know, like,
- 1:43Speaker 3: how am I supposed to trust that this is, like,
- 1:47Speaker 3: genuinely platonic?
- 1:48Speaker 7: Like, for real?
- 1:49Speaker 6: Boy. I mean, they just introduced a whole lot of
- 1:51Speaker 6: baggage into your world.
- 1:52Speaker 9: I would feel like Sam, a.k.a. Samantha's reaction when I
- 1:56Speaker 9: walk in, like, oh, you're the girlfriend. Like, to me,
- 1:58Speaker 9: it would be like, give me a little bit more
- 2:00Speaker 9: peace of mind. Because if she came in and was like,
- 2:02Speaker 9: who are you? You know, then I would probably.
- 2:04Speaker 6: Be like, okay, maybe.
- 2:06Speaker 5: But like.
- 2:06Speaker 3: That's a good point.
- 2:08Speaker 6: Yes. Yes, totally. But it's kind of like, is it
- 2:11Speaker 6: a little condescending?
- 2:12Speaker 1: Oh, you're the girlfriend.
- 2:13Speaker 6: Right. I guess it depends how she said it. It
- 2:15Speaker 6: depends how she said it.
- 2:17Speaker 2: How did she say it?
- 2:18Speaker 10: Well, you said something that I have to follow up on.
- 2:20Speaker 10: So you said, I love him. Like, do you really
- 2:23Speaker 10: love him?
- 2:23Speaker 6: I do.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I really do. Like, he's pretty special, but... I, I mean,
- 2:28Speaker 3: this is a lot to take in and that I
- 2:31Speaker 3: was not expecting.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:33Speaker 10: So you love him, but now you find out that
- 2:35Speaker 10: his roommate is his beautiful ex-wife. Is that a deal
- 2:38Speaker 10: breaker or can you.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Live with it?
- 2:41Speaker 3: Um, I mean, it would have been nice to know, uh,
- 2:45Speaker 3: that Sam was Samantha and his ex-wife and you know,
- 2:50Speaker 3: that's eight months, long time for that stuff. Um, I
- 2:55Speaker 3: don't think it's a deal breaker, but I don't think
- 2:58Speaker 3: I feel very comfortable with it.
- 3:00Speaker 1: You know what you just remind me of?
- 3:01Speaker 10: You just gave me an idea of, like, if we
- 3:02Speaker 10: were to make this a segment and we've got, like,
- 3:04Speaker 10: Kanye tickets online.
- 3:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Like, the way she just said, it would have been
- 3:07Speaker 1: nice to know.
- 3:07Speaker 6: There you go. That's what we call it.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It would have been nice to know that you were
- 3:12Speaker 1: living with your ex.
- 3:12Speaker 6: Before I got too involved with this person. It would
- 3:14Speaker 6: have been nice to know. Yeah, here's what I think
- 3:16Speaker 6: is the win, that you said she was beautiful, too.
- 3:19Speaker 6: That means that.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Like, I'm talking, like, she could be
- 3:22Speaker 3: on the cover of a magazine.
- 3:23Speaker 6: Like, my.
- 3:24Speaker 3: She has good taste. I mean.
- 3:27Speaker 1: He chose you.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Okay, I'll take that.
- 3:29Speaker 6: Because he chose you.
- 3:30Speaker 3: That's nice.
- 3:31Speaker 6: Is the new version. I think that's great, too. All
- 3:33Speaker 6: these are okay.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Would have been nice to know.
- 3:35Speaker 3: That definitely makes me feel a lot better. Thank you
- 3:38Speaker 3: for that. I didn't think of that. I was like, oh,
- 3:39Speaker 3: my God, she's so pretty. Why is he with me?
- 3:42Speaker 1: I see you like sitting on the bed.
- 3:43Speaker 10: You're sitting on the edge of the bed talking to
- 3:44Speaker 10: him and there's this beautiful woman out in the living
- 3:46Speaker 10: room and you're like, you.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Know, yeah, I know she's great. Would have been nice
- 3:48Speaker 1: to know that you are, that's your ex-wife.
- 3:51Speaker 6: I'm fine.
- 3:51Speaker 7: I'm fine.
- 3:52Speaker 6: I'm fine. When you call into our show, make sure
- 3:56Speaker 6: you use that phrase just like this. Would have been
- 3:57Speaker 6: nice to know. When you describe it.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Vicki, thanks for calling in.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Thank you. Thanks so much. I feel a lot better now.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Thanks guys.
- 4:04Speaker 10: We got Kanye tickets on the line. Tell us that
- 4:07Speaker 10: like what you're in a relationship and a bomb is dropped.
- 4:10Speaker 10: Would have been nice to know. Would have been nice
- 4:11Speaker 10: to know. Jessica, we want to hear from you. We
- 4:14Speaker 10: got Kanye West tickets on the line. What's your story?
- 4:18Speaker 2: So I found out that my boyfriend's mom is in
- 4:22Speaker 2: a group chat with all of her sisters. So like
- 4:25Speaker 2: his aunts and like all the girls in the family
- 4:29Speaker 2: where they rate all my outfits and discuss like whether
- 4:34Speaker 2: I'm wife material. Like it, It's real weird, but I'll
- 4:38Speaker 2: tell you the way I found out is my boyfriend
- 4:42Speaker 2: is also in the group chat. Isn't that fun?
- 4:46Speaker 6: Is he participating? He's also rating your outfits to see
- 4:48Speaker 6: if you're marriage material?
- 4:51Speaker 1: No.
- 4:52Speaker 9: Okay, good.
- 4:52Speaker 5: He's just like a fly on the wall.
- 4:54Speaker 6: He's like harding the ants that he agrees with.
- 4:56Speaker 1: They're like, we just put you on here so you know.
- 4:59Speaker 10: But still.
- 5:01Speaker 6: How are you doing so far in the ratings? Do
- 5:03Speaker 6: they like your outfits?
- 5:05Speaker 2: I mean, I'm just like averaging a three out of five,
- 5:08Speaker 2: I think.
- 5:08Speaker 6: It's not bad. Oh, that's not great.
- 5:10Speaker 10: So what would have been nice to know doesn't fit here,
- 5:13Speaker 10: does it? Would have been nice to know. Like, he's
- 5:14Speaker 10: not going to go like, hey, I'm going to take
- 5:16Speaker 10: out the dinner. By the way, from now on, my
- 5:17Speaker 10: whole family is going to rate your outfits.
- 5:19Speaker 1: They're not going to say that.
- 5:21Speaker 6: That is, yeah, one that is dropped. Yeah. I mean,
- 5:24Speaker 6: they are rating her to see if she's wifey material.
- 5:27Speaker 1: This one's kind of like not nice to know. Is
- 5:29Speaker 1: it a deal breaker or can you live with it?
- 5:32Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 5:33Speaker 9: Hmm.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Well, we're going to need you to make a decision.
- 5:36Speaker 1: We're debating. Do they like your outfits? Are you marriage material?
- 5:41Speaker 1: So what's the result?
- 5:43Speaker 6: She said three out of five.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I just think it's weird for them to be talking
- 5:46Speaker 2: about me.
- 5:47Speaker 10: You think that you're going to be dating somebody and
- 5:49Speaker 10: the family's not going to talk about you?
- 5:51Speaker 1: They have to. That's what you do.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Okay, but it's like so, is overt the right word?
- 5:55Speaker 2: Like it's just so out in the open like that.
- 5:58Speaker 2: It's so, I don't know. It's weird to see it
- 6:00Speaker 2: in writing.
- 6:00Speaker 6: Well, then maybe you need to get together with your
- 6:02Speaker 6: uncles and find out if this guy's husband material.
- 6:05Speaker 8: I love it.
- 6:06Speaker 9: Yes.
- 6:07Speaker 2: That is so creepy.
- 6:08Speaker 7: I love it.
- 6:09Speaker 1: All right, Jessica, thanks for calling in.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Thanks.
- 6:13Speaker 10: 877-937-1047. You're in a relationship, okay? A month, a year,
- 6:19Speaker 10: 10 years. You found something out. Would have been nice
- 6:22Speaker 10: to know beforehand. What was the bomb that was dropped?
- 6:25Speaker 10: We got Kanye West tickets. More of your calls next
- 6:28Speaker 10: with John Jay Rich.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Oh, my goodness. It's John Jay Rich, KISS FM. Wednesday,
- 6:37Speaker 1: September 16th. It would have been nice to know.
- 6:43Speaker 6: It would have been nice to know.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Before you got in this relationship, like a bomb was
- 6:47Speaker 1: dropped on you. Sarah.
- 6:51Speaker 9: Good morning.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Good morning. We got some Kanye tickets for this, Sarah.
- 6:55Speaker 1: What's your story?
- 6:57Speaker 5: Well, it would have been nice to know that my
- 7:00Speaker 5: ex had spent time in prison for illegitimate enterprises and
- 7:03Speaker 5: conspiracies before he manipulated me into his schemes.
- 7:10Speaker 10: Have been nice hold on my microphone's not working that
- 7:13Speaker 10: would have been nice to know it would have been
- 7:15Speaker 10: nice he manipulated you so you got he got you
- 7:18Speaker 10: in the the the stuff that got him in trouble
- 7:21Speaker 10: he did like what'd you.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Do well um so he would like he had all
- 7:28Speaker 4: kinds of fake businesses so he presented himself as like
- 7:31Speaker 4: this legitimate businessman and he had all of these businesses
- 7:36Speaker 4: and he sold cars and he did all this stuff
- 7:37Speaker 4: so i was helping him do all of his books
- 7:40Speaker 4: do all of this stuff come to find out he's
- 7:42Speaker 4: just taking.
- 7:42Speaker 5: All this money from people and flipping it into other
- 7:45Speaker 5: things and never fulfilling his responsibilities with everybody else so
- 7:49Speaker 5: they would.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Call me and be like hey i bought this from.
- 7:51Speaker 5: Him and i'm like i have no idea what is.
- 7:53Speaker 10: Going on okay so you were working for him legitimately
- 7:56Speaker 10: but he was doing bad things.
- 8:00Speaker 9: Right.
- 8:00Speaker 5: I don't know if working is the right word because
- 8:02Speaker 5: I never got anything.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Out of it.
- 8:05Speaker 6: I guess neither did the customers. But I mean, if
- 8:07Speaker 6: he'd worked that hard on that, he could have just
- 8:09Speaker 6: been a legit businessman and done fine. Sounds like he
- 8:11Speaker 6: was hustling.
- 8:12Speaker 9: Right.
- 8:12Speaker 4: But then he gave me a fake name.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Everything was fake. So I didn't know this until like
- 8:17Speaker 5: 10 months later when I started snooping around and I
- 8:20Speaker 5: was like.
- 8:20Speaker 10: Wait a minute.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Okay, wait a second.
- 8:22Speaker 5: You're not who you say you are.
- 8:23Speaker 10: For 10 minutes, for 10 months, you called him a
- 8:26Speaker 10: different name than his real name he gave you?
- 8:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 1: So what was the name you were calling him?
- 8:31Speaker 2: Michael.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And what's his real name?
- 8:34Speaker 5: Charles.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Wow.
- 8:38Speaker 6: Did he say, you said he gave you a fake name?
- 8:40Speaker 6: What was your fake name?
- 8:44Speaker 5: Well, when I would talk to the people, he would
- 8:45Speaker 5: always tell them, your name is Megan. And I was like, well,
- 8:48Speaker 5: that's weird, but okay.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Okay, Sarah, hold on a line. That's a good one.
- 8:52Speaker 1: That's a good one. That's crazy.
- 8:54Speaker 10: Ariel, what's a relationship bomb, by the way? What's a
- 8:56Speaker 10: relationship bomb that happened to you?
- 8:59Speaker 1: It would have been nice to know.
- 9:00Speaker 6: Good morning.
- 9:01Speaker 7: It would have been nice to know. I was married
- 9:05Speaker 7: and it didn't work out. And I was separated. And
- 9:09Speaker 7: right at the beginning of our separation, so we share
- 9:11Speaker 7: a child together. And right at the beginning of our separation,
- 9:16Speaker 7: obviously he moved out. And I was trying to coordinate like, hey,
- 9:20Speaker 7: we need to coordinate picking up and dropping off of
- 9:24Speaker 7: like our son. And he's like, oh, by the way,
- 9:28Speaker 7: I moved to Hawaii.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I was like, that would be nice to know.
- 9:34Speaker 6: He just packed up and left. It's going to be
- 9:36Speaker 6: hard to pick up the kids on a Wednesday. He's
- 9:39Speaker 6: trying to co-parent. No, you moved to a whole different state.
- 9:42Speaker 7: He wanted to do 50-50 custody from Hawaii and Arizona.
- 9:47Speaker 7: I'm like, that doesn't really work.
- 9:48Speaker 1: That's a banana. Okay, that's a good one, Ariel. Brittany
- 9:52Speaker 1: was like, whoa, I got the best one ever. What
- 9:54Speaker 1: do you got, Brittany?
- 9:56Speaker 8: Okay, so I fell in love with a guy and
- 10:00Speaker 8: we had a great romance and he had four kids
- 10:04Speaker 8: from a previous relationship, his ex-wife, and I was super
- 10:08Speaker 8: involved in their life. And I mean, we had them
- 10:11Speaker 8: four to five days a week in our home. Everything
- 10:14Speaker 8: was great. Me and the ex-wife got along great. Everything was,
- 10:18Speaker 8: Right before our wedding, I was looking at some paperwork
- 10:21Speaker 8: inside our house while he was at work, and I
- 10:24Speaker 8: found five Social Security numbers, not four. So it would
- 10:31Speaker 8: have been nice to know you had another child out there.
- 10:35Speaker 8: And it turns out that child lived right down the
- 10:38Speaker 8: street from where we were at.
- 10:40Speaker 1: What?
- 10:40Speaker 9: And he just.
- 10:42Speaker 8: So, but then it gets worse. So we obviously in
- 10:46Speaker 8: our separate ways and, you know, we called the wedding
- 10:49Speaker 8: off and everything else. Well, I thought later on in life,
- 10:53Speaker 8: like 10 years now that maybe I missed out on
- 10:56Speaker 8: something that could have been great. And maybe that was
- 10:58Speaker 8: just this one thing that was bad. So I actually
- 11:01Speaker 8: looked him up and found them and we got like
- 11:05Speaker 8: talking and everything. And we went out to dinner and
- 11:08Speaker 8: started kind of dating again. So six months into us
- 11:12Speaker 8: dating again, he's like, by the way, I need to
- 11:16Speaker 8: tell you something. And I'm like, oh, it's not going
- 11:20Speaker 8: to be as bad as me finding the social security number,
- 11:23Speaker 8: is it? And I was kind of joking. And he
- 11:26Speaker 8: was like, oh, yeah, about that. And I was like,
- 11:29Speaker 8: you've got to be kidding me. He was like, so
- 11:32Speaker 8: I didn't exactly have another kid. I actually had two
- 11:36Speaker 8: other kids.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 11:38Speaker 8: So at the same time that his ex-wife was pregnant
- 11:42Speaker 8: with their first child, he had two other women pregnant, too.
- 11:46Speaker 8: So his first child, he had three women pregnant at
- 11:48Speaker 8: the same time. So he actually not only had another
- 11:52Speaker 8: daughter that I didn't know, he had a son that
- 11:55Speaker 8: I didn't know either.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Was that a deal breaker? Did you stay with him?
- 11:59Speaker 8: Oh, my gosh. He lied to me the first time.
- 12:02Speaker 8: And you think we're getting back together? This would be
- 12:04Speaker 8: something you tell me right at the beginning. But he
- 12:07Speaker 8: waited another six months to tell me there's another kid
- 12:10Speaker 8: out there.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I think he was probably trying to get you pregnant too.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Did it not work? Did you have a kid with him?
- 12:16Speaker 8: No, I don't have any kids with them.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 12:18Speaker 6: Touched a bullet.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Sounds like that's what he's trying to do.
- 12:20Speaker 8: No, it's, I actually, he went with me. I had
- 12:23Speaker 8: cancer at the time when we got together. And I
- 12:26Speaker 8: thought when I had it, cause I couldn't have any
- 12:28Speaker 8: kids that what a great daddy was. He was so
- 12:32Speaker 8: good with his kids.
- 12:33Speaker 6: I mean, got a lot of experience.
- 12:35Speaker 8: Top notch kids.
- 12:36Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly.
- 12:37Speaker 8: Top notch father. And that's what me one of the
- 12:40Speaker 8: things that made me fall in love with him. And
- 12:41Speaker 8: then not only that, but I was just these kids
- 12:44Speaker 8: are just amazing. You know, they just love their dad
- 12:47Speaker 8: and everything. But to find out that he got to play,
- 12:50Speaker 8: he paid, he like played like, oh, I'll deal with
- 12:53Speaker 8: these kids, but I won't deal with these kids.
- 12:55Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 12:56Speaker 8: That's not right. You don't get to pick and choose.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Sometimes the kids get annoyed.
- 13:00Speaker 6: We all have our favorites.
- 13:02Speaker 4: One of the kids lived like two miles away from us.
- 13:05Speaker 8: And we never saw her. That's what's bad about it.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Okay, Brittany. That's a good one.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Hold on.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Hold on a second.
- 13:12Speaker 7: Okay.
- 13:15Speaker 1: We got to give some Kanye tickets away. Who would
- 13:17Speaker 1: you give them to? Well, you got Sarah there. What
- 13:19Speaker 1: was Sarah's story?
- 13:20Speaker 9: That was good.
- 13:20Speaker 1: The prison scammer.
- 13:21Speaker 6: Oh, come on.
- 13:22Speaker 1: That's so good. Sarah, I forgot. Are you the prison scammer? Yes, sir.
- 13:27Speaker 7: Oh, okay.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Or Megan.
- 13:29Speaker 6: You can call her whatever you want.
- 13:30Speaker 2: That's good.
- 13:32Speaker 1: So you want to go see Kanye West?
- 13:35Speaker 4: I sure do.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You got him. Congratulations.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Enjoy. Thank you.
- 13:40Speaker 6: Yay.
- 13:41Speaker 10: So being scammed and manipulated by a guy who ended
- 13:43Speaker 10: up turning out okay.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Just don't take him to Kanye with you.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Oh, hell no. He's gone.
- 13:50Speaker 6: We never asked her if she was still with him. Remember?
- 13:53Speaker 6: So at least he's gone. That's good.
- 13:55Speaker 2: He's gone.
- 13:56Speaker 3: All right.
