Chris Affleck, mother of Ben and Casey Affleck, passed away at 83 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, having fulfilled her final wish by attending her grandson’s high school graduation just two days before her death. A Harvard grad and lifelong educator, she spent 35 years teaching and was deeply involved in civil rights—from Freedom Summer to anti-war protests and later water justice advocacy in Palestine.
