- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, guys, it's time for Stacks and Hacks.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Yay!
- 0:03Speaker 1: I got Stacks information. Rich has life hacks.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Halloween candy keeps shrinking while the prices keep climbing.
- 0:10Speaker 1: What a shame.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It's insane. I literally just bought some yesterday, and it
- 0:14Speaker 2: was maddening.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Some packages now have 17% less candy than they did
- 0:18Speaker 3: a few years ago, and candy costs have jumped up 71%
- 0:21Speaker 3: since 2021.
- 0:25Speaker 4: When is it going to stop?
- 0:27Speaker 5: I know.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Like this is getting out of hand.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Okay. Now, a couple of days ago, we talked about
- 0:31Speaker 1: that flying car. Yes. So now they did a big
- 0:34Speaker 1: poll on that.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Would you personally want to ride in a flying car
- 0:39Speaker 3: if you had the opportunity?
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Depends who the pilot is.
- 0:45Speaker 3: You know, what's funny is I thought about this and
- 0:48Speaker 3: I think about it like I do a hot air balloon.
- 0:50Speaker 3: I wouldn't mind going on a hot air balloon, but
- 0:52Speaker 3: why it's tethered and just go up a little bit.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I don't want to go all the way, way, way,
- 0:55Speaker 3: way up. So I would probably go in a flying
- 0:57Speaker 3: car just a little bit and back down again. Maybe
- 0:59Speaker 3: as high as the ceiling. Like rooftop?
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yeah, like a one-story apartment.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I kind of figure that's what they're going to have
- 1:05Speaker 2: to be because you can't go, you know, messing where
- 1:06Speaker 2: helicopters and airplanes go.
- 1:08Speaker 1: That's where they're doing it. Is that the way it's going? No,
- 1:10Speaker 1: I don't think they probably will be able to go
- 1:12Speaker 1: that high.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Just above the bridges.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Charging your phone to 100%. Who does that? Me. I do.
- 1:22Speaker 1: All the time. I do it every night. I plug
- 1:25Speaker 1: it in.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Charging your phone to 100% all the time speeds up
- 1:30Speaker 3: battery wear, which can cut the life of your phone
- 1:33Speaker 3: by 10% to 15%. You also should not let it
- 1:35Speaker 3: drain your battery to 0%. Keeping it from 20% to 80%
- 1:38Speaker 3: is the best.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Is what it says.
- 1:40Speaker 2: That's what they say about electric cars, too. If you
- 1:42Speaker 2: charge them 100%. then you wear down the battery.
- 1:46Speaker 1: On an electric car. Oh, really?
- 1:47Speaker 4: I have noticed on my iPhone that if I plug
- 1:49Speaker 4: my phone in at night, it'll stop charging at 80%,
- 1:52Speaker 4: and it'll say, battery, stop charging until sufficient something.
- 1:57Speaker 2: It, like, stops it.
- 1:58Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 1:59Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:59Speaker 2: It's actually kind of nice.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Peyton, you brought up wanting to go to the movies
- 2:02Speaker 3: that are adult-only movies, no kids allowed.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Yes, please.
- 2:05Speaker 1: People have been demanding adult-only flights.
- 2:07Speaker 5: Yes.
- 2:08Speaker 1: This might be as close as you get.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Apparently, JetBlue Vacations and Virgin Voyages are teeming up to
- 2:11Speaker 3: offer adults-only, do-not-disturb travel packages that include child-free flights.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I love it.
- 2:16Speaker 4: And it's not that, like, children are bad or anything.
- 2:19Speaker 4: I just want another option.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Stop it, Peyton.
- 2:21Speaker 5: You know you hate kids.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I do not hate kids.
- 2:24Speaker 4: But apparently that is the narrative, so who knows?
- 2:27Speaker 1: Peyton doesn't hate kids.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Woman is going viral on TikTok for explaining how she
- 2:34Speaker 3: intentionally sleeps at the airport.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Listen to this. She gives three reasons. She breaks it
- 2:39Speaker 1: down why you should always sleep at the airport.
- 2:41Speaker 5: There's three reasons to plan to stay in the airport.
- 2:44Speaker 5: I just stayed here overnight. First of all, it's free.
- 2:48Speaker 5: We got in at night, so it didn't make sense
- 2:50Speaker 5: to spend money on a hotel just to sleep, so
- 2:52Speaker 5: we stayed here for free. Reason number two, if you're
- 2:55Speaker 5: on the side of the security checkpoint where everyone's been
- 2:57Speaker 5: checked and gone through security, everyone's been vetted. You know
- 3:01Speaker 5: no one has any weapons or anything crazy, so it's...
- 3:05Speaker 5: much safer knowing like people have been checked and reason
- 3:09Speaker 5: number three it's kind of fun and like relaxing and
- 3:13Speaker 5: novel like if you're prepared you know you're gonna do
- 3:16Speaker 5: it you maybe bring some extra supplies to make sure
- 3:18Speaker 5: you're comfortable and situated it's nice like it works out I.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Feel like you're really brave to do that because even
- 3:25Speaker 2: if they don't have weapons, they can still be a
- 3:26Speaker 2: total creeper and mess with you while you're sleeping. Right.
- 3:28Speaker 4: I've had to sleep overnight at an airport before and
- 3:31Speaker 4: it is one of the creepiest things ever.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I would never want to voluntarily do that. It's also
- 3:35Speaker 2: not comfortable at all. Those chairs are barely comfortable to
- 3:37Speaker 2: sit and wait for the plane.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Unless you have the airport that's like attached to the
- 3:40Speaker 4: hotel like in like Bangkok or something like that.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Well, then that's going to a hotel.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Did you know that cemetery and graveyard can be used interchangeably,
- 3:48Speaker 3: but there is a difference?
- 3:50Speaker 4: What?
- 3:50Speaker 1: What's the difference? Graveyard?
- 3:53Speaker 3: It's typically a smaller plot directly on church grounds. They're
- 3:56Speaker 3: older with uniform headstones and are likely to be filled
- 3:58Speaker 3: to capacity. A cemetery is often independent land anywhere in
- 4:03Speaker 3: a community. They're typically larger, open to anyone, including groups
- 4:06Speaker 3: of military veterans, and allow more flexible headstone and monument types.
- 4:10Speaker 2: I wonder if there's any, like, new cemeteries that just
- 4:12Speaker 2: opened up. Like, check out our brand-new cemetery. You'd be
- 4:15Speaker 2: the first guy buried in here.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Like, do you buy a lot of land in a
- 4:18Speaker 4: neighborhood and be like, I'm just going to build a
- 4:20Speaker 4: cemetery here?
- 4:21Speaker 3: I was driving with this buddy of mine yesterday, and
- 4:22Speaker 3: there was this development that kind of, like, broke down,
- 4:24Speaker 3: and it's not finished yet. And my friend goes... I
- 4:28Speaker 3: was the first guy they offered a plot of land here.
- 4:30Speaker 3: It's to build a house.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 3: So you're saying if you're the guy in the cemetery,
- 4:34Speaker 3: you're the first guy in here.
- 4:35Speaker 2: You want to go near a tree? You want to
- 4:37Speaker 2: go near a tree.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Rich, this is for you here. You guys know the
- 4:40Speaker 1: band Fleetwood Mac?
- 4:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Fleetwood Mac.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Apparently, they did so much cocaine to get through the
- 4:46Speaker 3: recording their album Rumors.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Awesome album.
- 4:48Speaker 3: That they considered it a necessity more than something enjoyable.
- 4:52Speaker 3: And they contemplated putting their drug dealer in the album credits.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh.
- 4:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Cocaine by Jimmy.
- 4:59Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Which is fascinating because I'm like, it's not like they
- 5:02Speaker 4: were on like acid or hallucin, like mushrooms or something.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Like that's a totally different kind of, I don't know
- 5:08Speaker 4: how that would help your creative.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So you got, if you don't know that album is
- 5:12Speaker 2: still like, I think a hundred and something million copies.
- 5:15Speaker 4: It's like, what's a song that I would know?
- 5:16Speaker 2: Oh, you were going to only happens when it's raining.
- 5:22Speaker 1: It's in every tick tock. Yeah. The guy that was
- 5:25Speaker 1: drinking the fricking drink on the skateboard. And he was
- 5:28Speaker 1: drinking that, what is that song?
- 5:30Speaker 2: It's called Dreams. That was the one I was doing.
- 5:31Speaker 2: The one Kyle said, Landslide's on there. Oh, I know Landslide.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that's, I feel like.
- 5:35Speaker 2: But Landslide's not on that one. But anyway, Rumor's huge,
- 5:37Speaker 2: huge album. There's a book about it that I think
- 5:40Speaker 2: that's probably from. And they talk about how everybody in
- 5:43Speaker 2: the band was either sleeping with each other or just
- 5:46Speaker 2: broke up with each other. Oh, it's toxic in her DNA.
- 5:49Speaker 2: It is toxic. It's all over the record. It's still
- 5:52Speaker 2: one of the best albums of all time.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Stevie Nicks with Arcadia High.
- 5:55Speaker 4: All right.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Rich, what do you got for life hacks?
- 5:57Speaker 2: Let me tell you something about 2026. Like pretty much
- 6:00Speaker 2: every company that you call, there's no humans waiting to
- 6:03Speaker 2: answer the phone anymore. In fact, it's mostly bots and
- 6:06Speaker 2: mostly AI.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Dylan's not real?
- 6:08Speaker 2: Well, except for here. When you call, you will talk
- 6:10Speaker 2: to a mostly live Dylan.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Or John G.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Will pick up sometimes. But they say that it used
- 6:16Speaker 2: to be the thing to do is hit the zero
- 6:18Speaker 2: button to get the operator. Well, the AI has figured
- 6:20Speaker 2: that out. Or you say operator. None of that works.
- 6:24Speaker 2: The quickest way to get to a human in 2026
- 6:26Speaker 2: is say, cancel my service. Because all the bots are
- 6:30Speaker 2: programmed to retain customers forever. So if you want to
- 6:34Speaker 2: talk to a human, say, cancel my service, and you
- 6:37Speaker 2: will get connected, usually within 30 seconds. That life hack
- 6:41Speaker 2: and many more can be found at johnjainrich.com.
