Latest / Richard Randall Show / Rep. Jeff Crank in Studio
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Richard Randall is on Colorado seven.
- 0:11Speaker 2: All right, we've got Jeff Crank Congress and Jeff Crank Representative.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Jeff Crank for an hour now, if you're not on
- 0:18Speaker 2: social media, I did post to social media earlier this morning. Well,
- 0:21Speaker 2: I twisted last night. I was thinking he was going
- 0:23Speaker 2: to be here. Earlier this morning, I posted all the
- 0:25Speaker 2: information and I did that because we get from time
- 0:29Speaker 2: to time, Well, he won't take calls, he won't answer questions,
- 0:32Speaker 2: he won't come to our event to answer questions. I
- 0:34Speaker 2: may have more to do with your event than answering questions,
- 0:37Speaker 2: because year after year after year he sat in this
- 0:40Speaker 2: chair or that chair and did nothing but answer questions.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So we're gonna do that here in just one minute.
- 0:45Speaker 2: But something is on my radar. We're gonna ask Jeff
- 0:48Speaker 2: Crank about it as well. So we have Minnesota Congresswoman
- 0:52Speaker 2: Elon Omar to a sprayed with an unknown liquid during
- 0:56Speaker 2: a town hall meeting last night. The thing. I had
- 1:00Speaker 2: questions about it, but any we'll go to our preensident.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Fox News Chad Pergham has got the very latest from
- 1:05Speaker 2: Capitol Hill yet.
- 1:07Speaker 1: A town hall event.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was confronted and sprayed by a
- 1:12Speaker 3: man there in the audience. It's not clear what the
- 1:13Speaker 3: substance was, and Omar later said she was okay. The man,
- 1:17Speaker 3: identified as fifty five year old Anthony Kuzmerzik, was arrested.
- 1:21Speaker 3: No word yet on motive, but Omar had just called
- 1:23Speaker 3: for the firing of DHS Secretary at Christy Nomes. She
- 1:27Speaker 3: had also called for ICE to be abolished. President Trump
- 1:31Speaker 3: yesterday traveling to Iowa saying he's still Baxnome even as
- 1:35Speaker 3: he sent borders our Tom Holman to take over operations
- 1:38Speaker 3: in Minnesota.
- 1:39Speaker 2: So we'll talk about this specifically in the second hour.
- 1:43Speaker 2: There are a couple of things I noticed about this,
- 1:45Speaker 2: And I'm not saying that there's anything sketchy about the incident,
- 1:48Speaker 2: but there are a couple of things that make me
- 1:50Speaker 2: wonder if there's anything sketchy about the incident. Let's not
- 1:53Speaker 2: talk about the incident, Jeff Crank, but let's talk just
- 1:56Speaker 2: generally about the elon omer types and all presently, all
- 2:01Speaker 2: the rest of these people. Do you have much interaction
- 2:05Speaker 2: with any of them if they're on the House side.
- 2:07Speaker 1: No, I don't, And I do want to say I
- 2:09Speaker 1: mean that kind of behavior from this person that did
- 2:14Speaker 1: that is despicable. We cannot our side, which stands for
- 2:18Speaker 1: the rule of law. That's what I'm about, right, is
- 2:21Speaker 1: the rule of law. You can't we Our argument is
- 2:23Speaker 1: you can't selectively enforce the law and just ignore the
- 2:27Speaker 1: laws you don't like, like the governor of Minnesota does
- 2:31Speaker 1: or the mayor of Minneapolis does. So you can't selectively
- 2:36Speaker 1: now say that it's somehow okay. It is not okay
- 2:40Speaker 1: to assault a member of Congress or anyone. I mean,
- 2:44Speaker 1: any citizen shouldn't. But you know, this person was arrested.
- 2:48Speaker 1: They should have been. I actually I think I heard
- 2:51Speaker 1: that they got third degree assault charge. I'm not sure
- 2:53Speaker 1: that's enough. Yeah, Like, if you think of the chilling
- 2:57Speaker 1: effect of what that person did, they're going after somebody
- 3:01Speaker 1: because of their First Amendment right now. I don't agree
- 3:04Speaker 1: with ilhan Omar on Actually I'm not sure I can
- 3:07Speaker 1: think of a thing yet that I've agreed with ilhan
- 3:09Speaker 1: Omar about. But one thing I do agree is she
- 3:12Speaker 1: has the right to say it, even if I disagree
- 3:15Speaker 1: with it. So when somebody comes in and does an
- 3:18Speaker 1: act like that on our side, it takes away our
- 3:21Speaker 1: moral authority to speak and say that that kind of
- 3:25Speaker 1: thing is wrong. And we see these attacks. We've seen
- 3:28Speaker 1: the attacks on the president, and let's be honest, if
- 3:31Speaker 1: you look at it, ilhan Omar, this attack on ilhan
- 3:34Speaker 1: Omar is wrong, but most of the attacks have been
- 3:38Speaker 1: on conservatives. Let's be honest with you, over the last
- 3:42Speaker 1: couple of years, most of the attacks have been on conservatives,
- 3:46Speaker 1: and so all of it is wrong. It doesn't matter
- 3:49Speaker 1: who is speaking. They have a right to speak. But
- 3:52Speaker 1: to your question, I have never ever even spoken to
- 3:55Speaker 1: ilhan Omar. Now I will when I get back there,
- 3:59Speaker 1: I will see her out and I will tell her
- 4:01Speaker 1: I am sorry what happened to you, because that's despicable
- 4:04Speaker 1: what happened. But no, there's a group of people in
- 4:07Speaker 1: the in the Democrat Caucus in Congress, and I would
- 4:10Speaker 1: put her in it. I would put Alexandria Cossio Cortez
- 4:13Speaker 1: and others. I've never spoken to them because they are
- 4:17Speaker 1: there to be celebrities. They're not there to be serious legislators.
- 4:21Speaker 1: We have a few on our side too, there's no
- 4:23Speaker 1: doubt about it. But I just, I just, I mean,
- 4:26Speaker 1: it's not that I wouldn't talk to them. They just
- 4:27Speaker 1: don't really give me the time of day because they
- 4:29Speaker 1: think I think that they're more important than we are.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So well, I want to be clear about this as well.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I denounce it in every fashion that you would like
- 4:38Speaker 2: anybody to denounce it. It is despicable, It shouldn't take place,
- 4:42Speaker 2: and this is not a caveat. It doesn't diminish what
- 4:45Speaker 2: happened to her. I do wish that if other people
- 4:48Speaker 2: were assaulted, especially people in law enforcement or federal agencies,
- 4:53Speaker 2: that there would be charges for all of that as well,
- 4:55Speaker 2: because I don't want selective enforcement of the law. And
- 4:58Speaker 2: if it turns out that you're more important in the
- 5:01Speaker 2: eyes of some people, that, yeah, well file charges there.
- 5:04Speaker 2: But if USL is somebody from Border Patrol or ice,
- 5:07Speaker 2: we won't pay attention to that. So, of course Minneapolis
- 5:11Speaker 2: and all the rest, there's all of these stories. Oh
- 5:14Speaker 2: my gosh, Jeff, it is so hard to even get
- 5:16Speaker 2: to the truth. And you know this because as a
- 5:18Speaker 2: talk show host, you had to win through all this
- 5:21Speaker 2: stuff to figure out what you were.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Going to talk about.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Yeah, give us the very latest if you could, and
- 5:26Speaker 2: what you can talk about in terms of Minneapolis, the
- 5:28Speaker 2: President Border Patrol christinom We've got Tom Holman and all
- 5:32Speaker 2: of the rest. I assume there may not be some
- 5:34Speaker 2: things you can talk about, but to the point that
- 5:36Speaker 2: we can do a debrief my crons earth Well.
- 5:39Speaker 1: One thing in this transitions from our last topic. You know,
- 5:42Speaker 1: I think as you were talking about that when someone attacks,
- 5:47Speaker 1: like this person in Minneapolis attacked a federal law enforcement officer,
- 5:51Speaker 1: they weren't just attacking that person. They attacked the rule
- 5:55Speaker 1: of law by doing that, right, just the way that
- 5:59Speaker 1: when ill Omar was just attacked by a person or
- 6:02Speaker 1: sprayed with some solution or whatever, they didn't just attack
- 6:06Speaker 1: ilhan Omar. They attacked the First Amendment. And that's what
- 6:10Speaker 1: we have to understand. We have to stand for the
- 6:12Speaker 1: rule of law. It's just that simple. And so what
- 6:17Speaker 1: happened in Minneapolis is no doubt a tragedy. There should
- 6:21Speaker 1: be a full investigation. I want to always make sure
- 6:24Speaker 1: that all law enforcement, whether they're local law enforcement here
- 6:27Speaker 1: in Colorado Springs or El Paso County Sheriff's office, or
- 6:30Speaker 1: any of our local law enforcement, if they're state or
- 6:33Speaker 1: if they're federal, that every American is treated fairly right
- 6:38Speaker 1: and that we are afforded our constitutional rights, and so
- 6:41Speaker 1: there ought to be a full investigation. But let's also
- 6:45Speaker 1: be clear, there's certainly one reason that that person is
- 6:50Speaker 1: dead today, and that's because he chose to break the
- 6:54Speaker 1: law by interfering with federal law enforcement. Now, if he
- 6:58Speaker 1: hadn't done that, he would be alive today. Right. And
- 7:02Speaker 1: this goes back and you remember who was the young
- 7:05Speaker 1: man who was killed here with the gun? Was it
- 7:09Speaker 1: Devon Bailey? So that Devon Bailey shooting. And I got
- 7:11Speaker 1: to thinking about that, and Devon Bailey came out and
- 7:14Speaker 1: I was on air here at kV R when that happened.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Devon Bailey came out. Uh, the police stopped him and
- 7:21Speaker 1: a friend. The police said your put your hands up.
- 7:24Speaker 1: The friend put his hands up and complied Devon Bailey,
- 7:27Speaker 1: who they knew had a pistol in short, because it
- 7:31Speaker 1: was reported that this kid who was dressed like him
- 7:34Speaker 1: and the description matched him, had a pistol and then
- 7:37Speaker 1: just either robbed or used that pistol on someone. Uh,
- 7:41Speaker 1: he decided to reach into his pants where they know
- 7:45Speaker 1: he has a pistol and turn and run, and that's
- 7:48Speaker 1: where he was shot. And that was decided to be
- 7:50Speaker 1: justified by our district attorney. So you compare that now.
- 7:55Speaker 1: First of all, if he would have done what his
- 7:57Speaker 1: friend did and complied with a last full order to
- 8:00Speaker 1: put your hands up and comply, is Devon Bailey? I
- 8:05Speaker 1: think so, he would be alive today, right. And that's
- 8:09Speaker 1: the thing that we've got to understand. You don't. It's
- 8:11Speaker 1: not something you get to decide whether you're gonna comply
- 8:14Speaker 1: with the law. If you're for the rule of law,
- 8:16Speaker 1: you comply with the law. It's just that simple.
- 8:19Speaker 2: You've been watching news stories for a long time, and
- 8:22Speaker 2: I don't want to put words in your mouth at all,
- 8:23Speaker 2: but I have seen more and more and more where
- 8:26Speaker 2: people just not only they don't respect authority in law enforcement,
- 8:30Speaker 2: they completely disregard I've seen there was a woman, she's
- 8:33Speaker 2: at a colonel in the Air Force. They're trying to
- 8:35Speaker 2: get her out of the car. Now I'm not getting
- 8:37Speaker 2: out of the car. Do you guys ever talk about
- 8:40Speaker 2: this in terms of what goes on in Washington, because
- 8:43Speaker 2: you guys are at risk in Washington as well.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Sure. And it's again, if you're being disrespectful to the
- 8:49Speaker 1: police officer who pulls you over, you're not just being
- 8:52Speaker 1: disrespectful to him. You're being disrespectful to the rule of law.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And if we lose the rule of law in America,
- 8:58Speaker 1: we've lost everything. You know, if you don't like that
- 9:02Speaker 1: officer who pulled you over, well you know what, he
- 9:04Speaker 1: might pull over the person who just hit you and
- 9:07Speaker 1: was drunk and wants to arrest them. So they are
- 9:10Speaker 1: there to call balls and strikes. And the vast majority
- 9:13Speaker 1: of police officers are are law abiding citizens and they
- 9:16Speaker 1: do a great job for us. You know one thing,
- 9:18Speaker 1: and I can answer your question, but let's talk about
- 9:21Speaker 1: body cams. Body cams should be on every law enforcement
- 9:27Speaker 1: person in America. And if you talk to any cop,
- 9:29Speaker 1: they'll tell you that, yep, they protect the ninety nine
- 9:33Speaker 1: point nine percent of good cops. They protect it, you know,
- 9:36Speaker 1: having that video and so many times. I had talked
- 9:40Speaker 1: to our DA Michael Allen the other day and he
- 9:42Speaker 1: was telling me about a case and this this kid
- 9:45Speaker 1: said that the mother said, well, we need to you know,
- 9:48Speaker 1: we're not going to take a deal with you. You know,
- 9:50Speaker 1: my kid is innocent and all of that. And they said, well,
- 9:53Speaker 1: Michael says to the young lady, he says, well, how
- 9:56Speaker 1: about we get the body cam and pull it up
- 9:58Speaker 1: and the girl says to her, let's just take the
- 10:01Speaker 1: deal because the girl knew what was on the bodycam,
- 10:03Speaker 1: right and so so many times that is the case. Occasionally,
- 10:09Speaker 1: very rarely, but occasionally it will protect or it will
- 10:12Speaker 1: catch that bad cop. And we want that so bodycams.
- 10:16Speaker 1: We appropriated twenty million dollars for ICE to have bodycams.
- 10:21Speaker 1: If they didn't all have body cams, I want to
- 10:23Speaker 1: know why they should, because it protects those agents that
- 10:27Speaker 1: do the right thing. Now I don't know if this
- 10:29Speaker 1: agent did the right thing the wrong thing. That's for
- 10:31Speaker 1: the investigators to decide. It should be thoroughly investigated. But yeah,
- 10:36Speaker 1: those are my thoughts well.
- 10:37Speaker 2: And I was surprised too with the first incident with
- 10:39Speaker 2: Renee Good that there was not bodycam. And I was
- 10:43Speaker 2: thankful that the officer or himself, agent whatever he'd like
- 10:46Speaker 2: to call him, was using his cell phone to record.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Thank goodness, because that's the best perspective that was going on.
- 10:53Speaker 2: I was going to ask you about bodycams because my
- 10:54Speaker 2: understanding is not everyone with iSER Border Patrol has them.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I didn't know that you had allocated money for that.
- 11:01Speaker 2: We'll take a short break. Talk about that a little
- 11:03Speaker 2: bit more when we come back, because it's not just
- 11:05Speaker 2: a surge in Minneapolis. It has been a lot of applications.
- 11:08Speaker 2: It's in trying to increase the number of agents and
- 11:12Speaker 2: officers we have working for many of these agencies. We'll
- 11:15Speaker 2: pick it up there with funding and whether that's an
- 11:17Speaker 2: issue at all from Congress. With Jeff Crank, he takes questions.
- 11:22Speaker 2: He just doesn't go to very hostile things where it's
- 11:24Speaker 2: a setup. So you can ask him any question you
- 11:26Speaker 2: want here. The number is seven one nine, seven to
- 11:28Speaker 2: one five zero seven, poor zero. And if you'd like
- 11:31Speaker 2: just go ahead and text it in, we'll get an
- 11:33Speaker 2: answer from Jeff Crank back after this. So, Jeff Crank,
- 11:37Speaker 2: when we come back seven to one nine seven to
- 11:38Speaker 2: one five zero seven, poor zero, you can call it
- 11:41Speaker 2: in or you can text it in back after this.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Time.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Time. All right, welcome back to kV o R. My
- 12:12Speaker 1: good friend Richard Randall that I thought we'd just do
- 12:15Speaker 1: that for old time sake. Let me just do it
- 12:17Speaker 1: come an end. What do you think?
- 12:19Speaker 2: I love it? I mean, I can honestly say I
- 12:21Speaker 2: miss you very I'm glad where you're at. I endorsed you,
- 12:24Speaker 2: and I'm glad where you're at, but I do miss
- 12:27Speaker 2: you here at kV R.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I miss being on kV It's it was always so
- 12:31Speaker 1: great and people ask me that all the time if
- 12:33Speaker 1: I miss doing this. This is such a great medium.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I've been blessed in my life. I mean, it's great
- 12:38Speaker 1: being a member of Congress. This is the greatest job
- 12:40Speaker 1: I've ever had. But it was always fun being on
- 12:42Speaker 1: air and talking with people. And I still go places
- 12:46Speaker 1: and people go out. Yesterday I was out at a
- 12:48Speaker 1: church and talking to some folks that guy because so, yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 1: I used to listen to you all the time on
- 12:51Speaker 1: the radio, So it's always fun. I'm sure I know
- 12:54Speaker 1: you get that all the time.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Well, but you I mean, now you're a congressman, but
- 12:58Speaker 2: you're the same person. I mean, you were at engaging,
- 13:00Speaker 2: You listen to people, you don't yell at people. I
- 13:02Speaker 2: think I have a quicker temper than you do. I'm
- 13:04Speaker 2: trying to think about it. I've heard you just lose that.
- 13:07Speaker 2: But in terms of that perspective, let's go back a
- 13:10Speaker 2: little further, even than the Jeff Crank Show. If you're new,
- 13:14Speaker 2: where to Colorado or Colora? Springs. Jeff Crank was on
- 13:18Speaker 2: the administration. Actually shouldn't say administration, He was working for
- 13:22Speaker 2: Joel Hepley. He was part of his staff and for
- 13:24Speaker 2: a while chief of staff. So when you compare those
- 13:28Speaker 2: days that you spent in Washington with Joel Hepley to
- 13:31Speaker 2: what's going on now, what are the biggest differences, then.
- 13:34Speaker 1: There's that's really a great question. There's a lot of differences. Obviously,
- 13:37Speaker 1: social media is a big difference. Actually, I worked for
- 13:40Speaker 1: Joel Heckley in the nineties. I kind of think we
- 13:43Speaker 1: had computers back then, but I don't know how good
- 13:45Speaker 1: they were. But you know, it's just it's just so different.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Like people can call my office and request a tour
- 13:52Speaker 1: if they're coming to Washington, DC. You used to have
- 13:55Speaker 1: to call and we had a little sheet that you'd
- 13:56Speaker 1: write that out on and all that. Now you just
- 13:59Speaker 1: go online. You go to my website Crank dot House
- 14:01Speaker 1: dot gov, and you can fill out and say I
- 14:03Speaker 1: want to I'd like to go to the White House
- 14:04Speaker 1: to the Capitol, and we've got staff that will take
- 14:07Speaker 1: care of that for you. If you want a flag
- 14:09Speaker 1: flown over the US capital on a certain day to
- 14:12Speaker 1: honor your your grandma's birthday or whatever. You just can
- 14:15Speaker 1: go online and do all that stuff. So it's just
- 14:17Speaker 1: a lot easier, But in a lot of ways it's harder,
- 14:20Speaker 1: and I think with social media it's harder. There's there's
- 14:23Speaker 1: more nonsense out there. I saw something the other day
- 14:26Speaker 1: on social media talking about a vote that I cast.
- 14:28Speaker 1: It was just totally wrong, and it's like, how do
- 14:31Speaker 1: you correct that? I mean, it was totally the opposite
- 14:33Speaker 1: of what they were saying. But you see that, and
- 14:37Speaker 1: you know that stuff just kind of spreads and they.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Get away with it. This No, that does get me
- 14:42Speaker 2: because I'm looking at Tim Walls the other day. He
- 14:45Speaker 2: stands up there. You've got Keith Ellison, you got the
- 14:48Speaker 2: mayor and the rest of them, but Tim Walls, I
- 14:49Speaker 2: don't know. It's about a ten minute podium he's there.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I counted at least five or six things. It wasn't
- 14:56Speaker 2: that they were nuanced, it was that they were just
- 14:59Speaker 2: flat out wrong. And nobody in the media ever goes
- 15:02Speaker 2: back in fact checks this stuff, certainly not in real time,
- 15:05Speaker 2: and they get away with it. And it doesn't surprise
- 15:07Speaker 2: me that so many people on the left, they'll pass
- 15:10Speaker 2: a polygraph on these things is absolutely believable.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Yeah, well it is, And I do worry about that.
- 15:16Speaker 1: You look at AI. I mean, I'm a big fan
- 15:18Speaker 1: of AI. I think we have to lead as America.
- 15:20Speaker 1: We have to lead as AI. I want the country
- 15:23Speaker 1: that believes in the constitution and free speech to control AI.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I don't want the communist Chinese being the leaders in AI.
- 15:30Speaker 1: So I'm a big fan of that. I don't think
- 15:32Speaker 1: we need much regulation, but it does worry me. Like
- 15:35Speaker 1: you go on, you go on social media, and half
- 15:38Speaker 1: the stuff you see is just made up. The other day,
- 15:41Speaker 1: you know, I'm a Broncos fan, and I saw after
- 15:43Speaker 1: a bo Nicks got hurt in the Division game, there
- 15:48Speaker 1: was a story on social media about him and had
- 15:52Speaker 1: a picture looked like a picture of bo Nicks laying
- 15:54Speaker 1: in the hospital in a hospital gown and Josh Allen,
- 15:58Speaker 1: the quarterback from the Buffalo Bills who they beat, standing
- 16:03Speaker 1: right at his bedside, And if you zoom in, it's
- 16:05Speaker 1: not really bo Nicks, and it's not really Josh Allen,
- 16:07Speaker 1: it's very close to them. It was an AI generated
- 16:10Speaker 1: picture and the whole story is created as Oh, Josh Allen,
- 16:14Speaker 1: you know, stopped by the hospital and all this, well,
- 16:16Speaker 1: none of that happened. But you go down and you
- 16:19Speaker 1: look through the comments and it's so many people say
- 16:21Speaker 1: that Josh Allen is so great. It's such a lie.
- 16:24Speaker 2: I'll give you one this word, so like everybody else.
- 16:27Speaker 2: And as a former trial attorney, and I reached back
- 16:29Speaker 2: to Dan May was a DA James Cook assist in DA.
- 16:34Speaker 2: And we're over the weekend, we're looking at all these
- 16:36Speaker 2: video from different locations, et cetera, trying to figure out
- 16:39Speaker 2: exactly what happened. And I'm with you, we need to
- 16:41Speaker 2: let the process before start jumping all over things. But
- 16:44Speaker 2: I saw yesterday it's a photograph purporting to me a
- 16:47Speaker 2: photograph of you know, mister pretty on the ground kind
- 16:51Speaker 2: of on his knees with somebody from border patrol with
- 16:55Speaker 2: a gun pointing right at his head back. And I'm like,
- 16:58Speaker 2: whoa hold on, and I look, it's fake. But there
- 17:01Speaker 2: are going to be a lot of people who see
- 17:02Speaker 2: that and they are outraged.
- 17:03Speaker 1: And Richard, do you think that the communist Chinese government
- 17:08Speaker 1: or the Russians aren't creating images like that to sew
- 17:12Speaker 1: division in America? They are doing just that. They use
- 17:16Speaker 1: social media against the United States. Now, we can't use
- 17:20Speaker 1: it against them because they censor any of that kind
- 17:23Speaker 1: of stuff in their country to protect their regime. But
- 17:27Speaker 1: here they do that, and they use social media to
- 17:31Speaker 1: try and shape and sew division amongst Americans. And I think,
- 17:34Speaker 1: and I can tell you this with a lot of certainty.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I can't get into many of the details, but I
- 17:39Speaker 1: can tell you with a lot of certainty that they
- 17:42Speaker 1: are very actively The Chinese other foreign agents are very
- 17:48Speaker 1: very intently sewing division. And part of this whole effort
- 17:54Speaker 1: to try and sow hatred in Minnesota in other parts
- 17:57Speaker 1: of our country, to tear our country down. We shouldn't
- 18:00Speaker 1: fall for that. They're communists. We should be Americans and
- 18:03Speaker 1: stand up with one another.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Talking about protests. You know, I had some other things.
- 18:07Speaker 2: We've got time. I'm gonna set them aside because we've
- 18:09Speaker 2: got protests going on. In Iran. We have people getting
- 18:12Speaker 2: shot and killed. Under the Obama administration, they had the
- 18:15Speaker 2: Green Revolution, young women took the hit jobs up and
- 18:18Speaker 2: next thing you know, they were either killed or put
- 18:20Speaker 2: into rape rooms. We've seen a lot coming out of Iran.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Your thoughts on Iran, and I don't want you to
- 18:26Speaker 2: get into anything that the president of the military may
- 18:29Speaker 2: be considering talking about, but just generally.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, first of all, I think the president has
- 18:33Speaker 1: an obligation to take action on Iran. Now that doesn't
- 18:35Speaker 1: mean military action, that means action. He has an obligation
- 18:39Speaker 1: to do what Barack Obama didn't do in two thousand
- 18:42Speaker 1: and nine, and that's to stand up for the brave
- 18:45Speaker 1: citizens of Iran who want freedom and want liberty. And
- 18:49Speaker 1: it was a tragedy what happened in two thousand and nine.
- 18:52Speaker 1: They stood up and we didn't do anything. We as
- 18:54Speaker 1: a government just said, hey, you're on your own, and
- 18:57Speaker 1: all of these students and others were massacred by the
- 19:00Speaker 1: tyrannical regime that is horrible to women, first of all,
- 19:05Speaker 1: and they're horrible to religious freedom and liberty in general.
- 19:08Speaker 1: So I think the president should look at all the
- 19:10Speaker 1: options that I know that he is. He's weighing those,
- 19:12Speaker 1: whether they're cyber attacks, whether they are embargoes, economic sanctions,
- 19:18Speaker 1: or whether it's military action. He ought to look at
- 19:20Speaker 1: all of those. But what I hope he will do
- 19:23Speaker 1: is stand with the people of Iran, and what that
- 19:25Speaker 1: will do not only for the people of Iran, but
- 19:28Speaker 1: the people of the world think of this. Iran is
- 19:30Speaker 1: the only country left in the Middle East that stands
- 19:35Speaker 1: stands against Israel in the way that they do. They
- 19:38Speaker 1: have been funding the terror in southern Israel. They have
- 19:44Speaker 1: been funding these terror groups. Most of the more moderate
- 19:48Speaker 1: Arab states, whether it's Saudi Arabia or Jordan or any
- 19:51Speaker 1: of these, are willing to coexist with Israel. We could
- 19:54Speaker 1: literally have peace in the Middle East if we get
- 19:57Speaker 1: rid of this regime in Iran.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Take a sharp break. When we come back, we're gonna
- 20:01Speaker 2: be talking more about the world. I can tell you
- 20:04Speaker 2: right now when I ask you about Jeff Crank. Is
- 20:06Speaker 2: the world safer than it was before? There have been
- 20:08Speaker 2: some things, whether it's Venezuela or Greenland, that I didn't
- 20:12Speaker 2: vote for because I didn't know those were at play,
- 20:14Speaker 2: and yet I've got pretty positive feelings that somebody had
- 20:17Speaker 2: to do it. The overarching question would be, you've seen
- 20:20Speaker 2: so many other presidents, going back to the time that
- 20:22Speaker 2: you were with Joel Hepley, where all they did for
- 20:25Speaker 2: their four years or eight years, is there really really
- 20:26Speaker 2: tough stuff? Just like Obama, kick the can down the road,
- 20:29Speaker 2: Make some other president deal with it, This president is
- 20:32Speaker 2: dealing with it. Your thoughts on Iran, China, Greenland, Venezuela,
- 20:36Speaker 2: and your questions as well. Seven to one nine seven
- 20:38Speaker 2: one fives. There were seven fours there seven kvrre with
- 20:48Speaker 2: Jeff Crank questions. You can send them in by a
- 20:51Speaker 2: text or you can call same number nine seven to
- 20:54Speaker 2: one fives. There are seven fours zero. Ask Representative Crank
- 20:57Speaker 2: who is providing the money an organization to these left
- 21:00Speaker 2: extremist causes? Are they in violation of federal statues? Can
- 21:04Speaker 2: they be prosecuted for such? Is there any money they
- 21:07Speaker 2: would go back to China or Iran or in my case,
- 21:11Speaker 2: any of this money that was just being sent out
- 21:13Speaker 2: over and over and over again USAID, and I think
- 21:17Speaker 2: a lot of it is used, even with ngngos and
- 21:19Speaker 2: charities to bring people into the country illegally. Where do
- 21:22Speaker 2: you think the money will lead? They always say, follow
- 21:24Speaker 2: the money, Jeff Crank.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Yeah, well, first of all, yet the answer is, we
- 21:28Speaker 1: do know. We do know that the Russians particularly did it,
- 21:32Speaker 1: and they did it during the elections. They're doing it now.
- 21:35Speaker 1: The Chinese and others are doing it. They're using social
- 21:38Speaker 1: media and using bots and other things to sow this
- 21:41Speaker 1: division in America and turn one against the other. And
- 21:46Speaker 1: we have sadly Americans who fall for that kind of
- 21:49Speaker 1: nonsense and they would rather side with the Chinese communists
- 21:53Speaker 1: than with the United States of America. So we know
- 21:55Speaker 1: that that's happening at the state level, that they are
- 21:58Speaker 1: doing this. But some of these groups, and you raise
- 22:01Speaker 1: a good point in that question, I do think Congress
- 22:04Speaker 1: should fully investigate some of these groups that are sowing
- 22:08Speaker 1: division and how they're funded, right, And you know, it's
- 22:12Speaker 1: one thing to fund a legitimate disagreement with the administration.
- 22:16Speaker 1: It is not okay to fund an organization that goes
- 22:19Speaker 1: out and tries to break the law. And again, if
- 22:21Speaker 1: you are impeding a federal immigration official from doing their
- 22:26Speaker 1: job and enforcing immigration law, you're breaking the law. And
- 22:30Speaker 1: so we ought to find out who is doing that,
- 22:34Speaker 1: if they're funding organizations and encouraging them to break the law.
- 22:37Speaker 1: You know, we broke up the mafia using Rico's standardudes
- 22:41Speaker 1: and things like that, and you know, we probably do
- 22:44Speaker 1: need to do that. If they're out there fomenting this
- 22:47Speaker 1: kind of hatred, we ought to know who is doing it. Again,
- 22:51Speaker 1: legitimate protest is perfectly fine. But when you're trying to
- 22:55Speaker 1: get people to get up in people's faces, try and
- 22:58Speaker 1: intimidate folks, and you know, cause violence, that is something
- 23:03Speaker 1: that can't be tolerated in the United States. It's again,
- 23:06Speaker 1: it's an attack on the United States of America. It's
- 23:08Speaker 1: not an attack on conservative it's not an attack on liberals.
- 23:11Speaker 1: It's an attack on our country and we need to
- 23:13Speaker 1: treat it as such.
- 23:13Speaker 2: When it comes to elections. Obviously a lot of conversations
- 23:16Speaker 2: about that. I remember when I first found out that
- 23:19Speaker 2: there were a number of states that didn't require much
- 23:22Speaker 2: by way of identification, et cetera. Whether you're driving a
- 23:26Speaker 2: huge rig out on the interstate or whether you're going
- 23:29Speaker 2: in to vote. What can be done? Do you believe
- 23:31Speaker 2: to ensure election integrity, especially here in Colorado in your district, Well.
- 23:36Speaker 1: The greatest thing we can do is pass voter ID.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I mean, that's just crazy. You know, you go to
- 23:41Speaker 1: get on an airplane or go through security there, you
- 23:44Speaker 1: have to show an ID. There's so many things you
- 23:47Speaker 1: have to have an ID to prove who you are.
- 23:49Speaker 1: If it's important enough to fly on an airplane, why
- 23:52Speaker 1: wouldn't it be important enough to drive our democracy or
- 23:57Speaker 1: our republic right to be able to vote in that
- 23:59Speaker 1: So people say, well, how could we do mail in
- 24:02Speaker 1: voting if we had It's not up to me to
- 24:05Speaker 1: decide how we do mail in voting. That's up to
- 24:07Speaker 1: the Secretary of State. I do know this. We should
- 24:10Speaker 1: have voter ID so that when somebody goes to turn
- 24:13Speaker 1: in a ballot, we know who that ballot is from.
- 24:17Speaker 1: And if we don't do that, we don't really have
- 24:20Speaker 1: a secure election system. And so I'm for and I
- 24:23Speaker 1: have voted for in Congress, the Save Act. I voted
- 24:26Speaker 1: for for these you know, voter ID, I support it.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I think that is the solution to all of this
- 24:34Speaker 1: is having voter ID comes from Chuck.
- 24:36Speaker 2: He says, please put forth a bill to remove the
- 24:38Speaker 2: Social Security tax cap of one hundred and eighty four thousand,
- 24:42Speaker 2: five hundred dollars. Why should a taxpayer earning one hundred
- 24:45Speaker 2: and eighty five thousand dollars pay tax on every dollar
- 24:48Speaker 2: they earn. Well, a millionaire like Eli mus pays only
- 24:52Speaker 2: one hundred and eighty four five hundred. That comes from Chuck.
- 24:55Speaker 2: You can fold that into it. But when it comes
- 24:58Speaker 2: to the accomplished President Trump in such a short period
- 25:02Speaker 2: of time when it comes to the you know, the
- 25:04Speaker 2: economy and taxing tips and all of the rest, talk
- 25:07Speaker 2: to us about that.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I mean to that question, Look, there's that's
- 25:11Speaker 1: a double edged sword because, first of all, Elon Musk,
- 25:15Speaker 1: if you're having him pay more in Social Security taxes,
- 25:18Speaker 1: is not like he's gonna get more. He's not gonna
- 25:20Speaker 1: get a billion dollars worth of Social Security benefits because
- 25:23Speaker 1: those benefits are also capped to people at a certain level.
- 25:27Speaker 1: So so I understand what you're saying on that, but look,
- 25:32Speaker 1: here's the reality. Elon Musk probably pays a lot more
- 25:36Speaker 1: in income tax. I don't know specifically what Elon Musk pays.
- 25:39Speaker 1: He pays a lot more than I do in income tax.
- 25:42Speaker 1: It's easy to blame billionaires for the problems of the world.
- 25:46Speaker 1: That's called envy. I don't really care for envy. I
- 25:48Speaker 1: like for people to just go out and do what
- 25:50Speaker 1: they can to make their life a better place. But
- 25:52Speaker 1: I will say this, We've done great work in Congress
- 25:57Speaker 1: this year working with President Trump to bring about tax
- 26:01Speaker 1: relief for the American people, and you're going to feel
- 26:03Speaker 1: it in the next couple of months. For sure. We
- 26:06Speaker 1: did no tax on tips in the One Big Beautiful bill.
- 26:09Speaker 1: We did no tax on Social Security. There's actually, well
- 26:13Speaker 1: there is a tax on social Security at a certain level,
- 26:15Speaker 1: but there's a senior tax exemption that we passed, so
- 26:19Speaker 1: seniors will get tax relief this time as well. No
- 26:23Speaker 1: tax on overtime, So if you're a police officer, EMT,
- 26:27Speaker 1: first responder, most a lot of that will not be taxed.
- 26:30Speaker 1: That you're going to feel that. We doubled the child
- 26:34Speaker 1: tax credit for people, and we made it, made it permanent,
- 26:38Speaker 1: indexed it for inflation, so if you have kids, you're
- 26:42Speaker 1: going to feel that accounts for kids saving these accounts,
- 26:45Speaker 1: these Trump accounts are are amazing. One thousand dollars that
- 26:49Speaker 1: the federal government's going to put in if you if
- 26:50Speaker 1: you got a new kid born into an account. You
- 26:53Speaker 1: can't access that until you're eighteen years old. But just
- 26:56Speaker 1: think what a thousand dollars invested in the stock market
- 27:00Speaker 1: you're eighteen for eighteen years, what difference that would mean.
- 27:02Speaker 1: You can put more money into it. And they're even
- 27:05Speaker 1: going out and getting philanthropists to put money into this.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Michael Dell and others are saying they'll put money into
- 27:10Speaker 1: these accounts. So that's a great thing. No, a lot
- 27:14Speaker 1: of people don't know this. We did no tax on
- 27:17Speaker 1: car loan interest if you buy an American made car.
- 27:20Speaker 1: So starting at the beginning of twenty twenty five, if
- 27:25Speaker 1: if you bought an American made car, all of that
- 27:28Speaker 1: interest is tax deductible, which has never been done before.
- 27:32Speaker 1: I will say this. The American people will do their taxes,
- 27:34Speaker 1: They'll look and they'll say, man, I got a big
- 27:36Speaker 1: refund this year. Here's the other thing you should do.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Go back in adjusture withholding to this new lower tax rate,
- 27:43Speaker 1: so you got more money coming in every single month.
- 27:45Speaker 1: That's the real secret to this is make sure that
- 27:47Speaker 1: you do that. You're not going to get as big
- 27:49Speaker 1: of a tax refund in twenty twenty seven on twenty
- 27:52Speaker 1: twenty six, but you're gonna have more take on pay
- 27:55Speaker 1: month to month. It's a great thing.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yeah, We'll say here's a tough one when it comes
- 27:58Speaker 2: to Venezuela, Greenland andarticularly some of these things. I keep
- 28:01Speaker 2: saying to myself, well, I didn't vote for that necessarily.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I didn't vote for B twos to get over Iran necessarily.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Is the world safer or not. And he's done some
- 28:11Speaker 2: things that he didn't run on. Good things are bad things.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, look I think it's a much safer world today. Look,
- 28:17Speaker 1: the narco terrorist state of Venezuela is no longer a
- 28:22Speaker 1: narco terrorist state. And to the people who say, oh,
- 28:24Speaker 1: you know, Donald Trump, you know takes us to war
- 28:27Speaker 1: in Congress House, to are we at war in Venezuela,
- 28:29Speaker 1: We're not at war in Venezuela. We struck Venezuela for
- 28:32Speaker 1: the purpose of getting a bad person who was indicted
- 28:36Speaker 1: in the United States, just like Manuel Noriega, out of
- 28:39Speaker 1: the country. It was a judicial operation. It was done flawlessly,
- 28:43Speaker 1: and I'll tell you what I was briefed on that.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Let me just say this, when the movie comes out
- 28:47Speaker 1: about the operation in Venezuela, buy your ticket because I
- 28:51Speaker 1: can tell you there were some things done in that
- 28:53Speaker 1: that if you saw it, you would be so proud
- 28:55Speaker 1: of our men and women who wear the uniform in
- 28:58Speaker 1: the American military. They did a stuff in that operation
- 29:02Speaker 1: in Venezuela.
- 29:03Speaker 2: So talk to me about eight thousand people show up.
- 29:06Speaker 2: They say, you won't address crowds or questions from people.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Eight thousand people the other day talk about that and
- 29:12Speaker 2: your news life.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I'm not allowing a mob to rule. There's
- 29:15Speaker 1: people who run around, go bang on doors or go
- 29:19Speaker 1: and you know, spray paint stuff and things like that,
- 29:23Speaker 1: who demand in person town hall so that they can
- 29:26Speaker 1: do to people what they just did to ilhan Omar.
- 29:29Speaker 1: That's not something I'm gonna do. But look, here's the
- 29:33Speaker 1: reality of it. I've had three town hall meetings. I
- 29:36Speaker 1: believe I've had three already. I think we had twelve
- 29:39Speaker 1: thousand at one, eight thousand at another, seventy five hundred
- 29:42Speaker 1: at another. We do that all the time.
- 29:44Speaker 2: But you take questions for the will take.
- 29:46Speaker 1: We take questions from everybody. In fact, I think this
- 29:49Speaker 1: last one, which was last week, we had more questions
- 29:51Speaker 1: for people who disagreed with me than people who agreed
- 29:54Speaker 1: with me. So we take the questions as they come.
- 29:57Speaker 2: We got a minute here it is your birthday, or
- 29:59Speaker 2: to make a big deal about that. But it turns
- 30:01Speaker 2: out that Republicans in Washington, while acknowledging birthdays, don't make
- 30:06Speaker 2: a big deal or spend a lot of time on it.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't have a lot of time usually in
- 30:10Speaker 1: Republican caucus. But we have a little birthday song, so
- 30:13Speaker 1: it goes like this, Hey, it's your birthday song. It
- 30:17Speaker 1: doesn't last too long. Hey, that's it. There you go,
- 30:21Speaker 1: Happy birthday, Get to work.
- 30:22Speaker 2: You got about forty five seconds, thirty seconds for a
- 30:25Speaker 2: final thought, Chef Crank.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Oh, maybe I should talk about the newsletter any of
- 30:28Speaker 1: my final thirty seconds. Look, if you'd like to learn
- 30:32Speaker 1: more about the stuff that we're doing, and it's pretty
- 30:34Speaker 1: awesome stuff. We've got clips from my committee speeches or
- 30:38Speaker 1: things that when I talk on the floor, those sorts
- 30:40Speaker 1: of things, the things that I get to do in
- 30:43Speaker 1: the honor of serving you. If you'd like to do that,
- 30:46Speaker 1: go to Crank dot House dot gov and you can
- 30:49Speaker 1: sign up for our newsletter. So love to have you
- 30:51Speaker 1: do that.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Our two ahead. Thank you so Muchcott Boy
