- Lucas: Hey, welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Ready to learn some more Spanish? Lucas: You know it. Today we're going to talk about the weather again, but with some new phrases. Luna: Oh I love that. We already know 'hace sol' and 'hace frío' from before. Lucas: Exactly. Now let's add three more. First: 'Hace buen tiempo.' That means 'The weather is good.' Luna: Hace buen tiempo. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's break it down. 'Hace' is like 'it makes' and 'buen tiempo' means 'good weather.' So 'Hace buen tiempo.' Luna: Hace buen tiempo. That's for when it's sunny and warm? Lucas: Yes, or just pleasant. Now the opposite: 'Hace mal tiempo.' The weather is bad. Luna: Hace mal tiempo. Lucas: Good. 'Mal' means bad. So 'Hace mal tiempo.' Luna: I can imagine saying that when it's raining or stormy. Lucas: Right. Now one more: 'Está nublado.' That means 'It's cloudy.' Luna: Está nublado. Lucas: Yes. 'Está' is 'it is' and 'nublado' means 'cloudy.' So 'Está nublado.' Luna: Está nublado. Okay I think I've got it. Let me try them all: Hace buen tiempo, hace mal tiempo, está nublado. Lucas: Flawless. Let's use them in a tiny scene. Imagine you're at the park. Luna: I love the park. So today, it's sunny. I say: 'Hace buen tiempo.' Lucas: But then clouds come. 'Está nublado.' Luna: Oh no. Then it starts raining. 'Hace mal tiempo.' Lucas: Exactly. You just described a whole weather change. Nice. Luna: That was fun. Can we practice a little more? Lucas: Sure. I'll say a situation, you pick the phrase. It's very hot and sunny. Luna: Hace buen tiempo. Lucas: It's pouring rain.
