- 2:03Speaker 3: you're into the ice sports at a big event for you.
- 2:06Speaker 3: It's a fundraiser for Little Victories happening Sunday afternoon, South Charleston.
- 2:10Speaker 3: We'll talk about that. And if you're a WVU fan,
- 2:13Speaker 3: you know they have a big game tomorrow afternoon at
- 2:15Speaker 3: home against Utah. It's Hall of Fame weekend in Morgantown.
- 2:18Speaker 3: We're in those nineteen sixty five throwbacks tomorrow. Friends of
- 2:20Speaker 3: Pinnacle Consultants, proud sponsors of the show. I've really set
- 2:24Speaker 3: our listeners up with some really good tickets for tomorrow.
- 2:27Speaker 3: How do you get them? We'll keep listening because I'm
- 2:29Speaker 3: going to tell you all about it coming up a
- 2:30Speaker 3: little bit later on. And of course you're Calls and Texter,
- 2:33Speaker 3: welcome to but every Friday, as you know what we do,
- 2:36Speaker 3: we talk a little high school football.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Tom Bragg and Chris Lawrence here. Chris, good morning, and
- 2:41Speaker 5: welcome to the show. Thank you so much. I'm I'm
- 2:44Speaker 5: honored to be here between two wrestling maniacs and a
- 2:48Speaker 5: third about to join us. I'm not a wrestling fan,
- 2:51Speaker 5: but I have no problem with it. But I think
- 2:54Speaker 5: I was a bigger fan of my father in law
- 2:56Speaker 5: who was a huge wrestling fan. And my favorite thing
- 2:59Speaker 5: to do was my father in law watch wrestling. Yes,
- 3:02Speaker 5: because it wore me out. Yeah, because he was He
- 3:04Speaker 5: would just be he would help out the guy that
- 3:07Speaker 5: was in trouble. He'd be swinging his arms.
- 3:09Speaker 2: It was.
- 3:09Speaker 3: It was beautiful, beautiful to watch. So yeah, it's they're
- 3:13Speaker 3: they're they're a different breed. I spent thirty years, thirty
- 3:16Speaker 3: years in the business. I got stories, man, I guess stories.
- 3:19Speaker 3: What games you covered?
- 3:20Speaker 5: N I will be at Ladley Field tonight Aaron Parker
- 3:22Speaker 5: and I will have the call of South Charleston at Capital.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Should be a good and I'm really looking forward to
- 3:28Speaker 5: seeing Tony Robinson Junior play for Capital. I've heard great
- 3:32Speaker 5: things about this young man, not only on the field
- 3:34Speaker 5: but off the field. Just a super individual. Looking forward
- 3:37Speaker 5: to seeing him play tonight. He he has been absolutely
- 3:41Speaker 5: wearing it out from his running back position, So I
- 3:45Speaker 5: would expect there'll be a lot of big plays in
- 3:46Speaker 5: that game and and a lot of scoring because that's
- 3:49Speaker 5: the way these two teams roll. Although South Charleston's coming
- 3:53Speaker 5: off that loss to GW last week and they struggled
- 3:57Speaker 5: mightily there, but they do have a very young team
- 4:01Speaker 5: and whatever loss, you learn a few things. So hopefully
- 4:03Speaker 5: that they'll be able to get back on track this
- 4:05Speaker 5: tonight and see what they can do. Kick off at
- 4:08Speaker 5: seven point thirty. Will be on there at seven o'clock,
- 4:10Speaker 5: following the sports line here on five ADWCCHS.
- 4:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 3: What you got tomorrow morning on West Virgina Outdoors.
- 4:16Speaker 5: Well, tomorrow's the opening day of archery season in West Virginia,
- 4:19Speaker 5: so we'll we'll delve into the massed survey that comes
- 4:23Speaker 5: out every year. I had an opportunity to talk to
- 4:26Speaker 5: the lady who was in charge of putting that together
- 4:28Speaker 5: this year, and we'll learn more about that and sneak peak.
- 4:32Speaker 5: The acorn crop, as most hunters that do any scouting know,
- 4:37Speaker 5: is a bumper crop this year and that does impact
- 4:39Speaker 5: the harvest. So we'll talk about that tomorrow morning on
- 4:41Speaker 5: the show. Also another update on EHD that continues to
- 4:45Speaker 5: be a real problem in the midd Ohio Valley radiating
- 4:48Speaker 5: out from the Parkersburg area. Lots of deer have died
- 4:51Speaker 5: of it, and it's even worse across the river in
- 4:54Speaker 5: Ohio where they are actually considering reducing the bag limit
- 4:58Speaker 5: for deer during the upcoming deer season. They're starting the
- 5:01Speaker 5: process to make that emergency move right now, does not
- 5:04Speaker 5: look like West Virginia is going to pursue that. We'll
- 5:06Speaker 5: talk a little bit about that with the wildlife disease
- 5:09Speaker 5: specialist Ethan Barton on the show tomorrow. And an individual
- 5:12Speaker 5: who caught the biggest bass in the history of the
- 5:16Speaker 5: Bass Nation Fishing tournaments, the biggest basscot in the tournament.
- 5:19Speaker 5: He cut it last week in a Stonewall Jackson's seven
- 5:23Speaker 5: I think it was seven. Seven was the seven pounds
- 5:25Speaker 5: and seven ounces. I think that's what it was. We'll
- 5:29Speaker 5: talk to him about that catch that he secured during
- 5:32Speaker 5: a tournament last weekend. So that's what's on the show tomorrow.
- 5:35Speaker 5: I hope you'll join us.
- 5:36Speaker 3: All right, we'll be listening tomorrow. Man, Thanks buddy, it's
- 5:38Speaker 3: bringing Tom Bragg. Now, Tom, you Matt Guitar Murphy have
- 5:41Speaker 3: the call for Herbert Hoover and Point Pleasant. That is
- 5:45Speaker 3: tonight road game for the Huskies are heading to Mason County.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Talk about that game.
- 5:49Speaker 7: Yeah, first time we've been down to Point Pleasant for
- 5:51Speaker 7: a Hoover game since we've been doing this and always
- 5:54Speaker 7: interested to get down to those places that have some
- 5:57Speaker 7: history behind him, places where a lot of big games
- 5:59Speaker 7: have been play over the years. I know Point not
- 6:01Speaker 7: having the best season this year. They're down a little
- 6:03Speaker 7: bit Owen three coming into this one. I think they're
- 6:06Speaker 7: a little better Owen three than maybe some of the
- 6:08Speaker 7: other winless teams around the state. And I think they
- 6:10Speaker 7: present a little bit more of a challenge than Hoover
- 6:12Speaker 7: faced last week. I'll do respect to Lincoln County, just
- 6:15Speaker 7: nothing went right for them, and everything went right for
- 6:17Speaker 7: the Huskies last week. Daniel and I did that game
- 6:20Speaker 7: and we looked up at one point, David, there was
- 6:22Speaker 7: five minutes, five and a half minutes to go in
- 6:24Speaker 7: the first quarter, Hoover had run three offensive plays, the
- 6:27Speaker 7: score was twenty five to nothing.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Herbert Hoover.
- 6:29Speaker 7: It was just if it could go right for them,
- 6:31Speaker 7: it did, and you can't count on that every week.
- 6:33Speaker 7: And Point pleasants a proud program. You know, those are
- 6:35Speaker 7: kids that have that competed all the way up. So
- 6:38Speaker 7: I expect a hard fought game. Hoover probably should come
- 6:41Speaker 7: out of this one with a win, but that's a
- 6:43Speaker 7: tough place to go play.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Its age.
- 6:45Speaker 8: You never know.
- 6:46Speaker 7: Hoover young at a lot of spots, particularly at the
- 6:49Speaker 7: quarterback position. But I thought last week at Lincoln County,
- 6:52Speaker 7: Peyton Griggsby, the sophomore for the Huskies, really kind of
- 6:54Speaker 7: had his coming out party. Three hundred yards five touchdowns,
- 6:57Speaker 7: looked as crisp as he has all season long. Certainly
- 7:00Speaker 7: something if you're Joey Fields and the coaching staff down
- 7:02Speaker 7: there in Elkfield, you can build off of.
- 7:04Speaker 3: All Right, we'll be listing to you in the Mcutar
- 7:06Speaker 3: Murphy on the air tonight.
- 7:07Speaker 7: Yeah, we're rolling games at seven or seven o'clock. We'll
- 7:09Speaker 7: be on about six fifty.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Five and that's on Superstar Country ninety six to one KWUS.
- 7:13Speaker 2: That's correct.
- 7:14Speaker 3: And then you're gonna rebound tomorrow home coming at West
- 7:16Speaker 3: Virginia State. Quickly talk about that.
- 7:18Speaker 7: Yeah, homecoming for the Yellowjackets tomorrow, Fairmont State coming into town.
- 7:21Speaker 7: It's the mac opener for or not to open the
- 7:24Speaker 7: home opener for in the NEC. West Virginia State one
- 7:27Speaker 7: at West Virginia Wesleyan last week. Fairmont State coming in
- 7:31Speaker 7: at two and one, got upset at Wheeling last week.
- 7:34Speaker 7: So Falcons coming in trying to get back on the
- 7:36Speaker 7: right track, and State just trying to keep the train
- 7:37Speaker 7: on the rails. Right now, they're playing pretty good ball.
- 7:39Speaker 7: All right, we'll be listening. You guys have a great
- 7:41Speaker 7: broadcast to morrow. Thanks all right, thank you, Davie.
- 7:43Speaker 3: All right, it is nine to fifteen the day violand

- 8:08Speaker 3: Gillenwater from the Gannala Charleston Humane Association with this week's
- 8:11Speaker 3: Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week and has always
- 8:13Speaker 3: picture posted on the Facebook pages both Dave Allen Radio
- 8:16Speaker 3: and the WCCHS Network, also on my ex page at
- 8:19Speaker 3: Dave A seventy Angie, good morning, welcome to the show.
- 8:23Speaker 9: Good morning, and I also want to throw out this
- 8:26Speaker 9: is a picture you definitely want to go see of
- 8:28Speaker 9: our adopting please pet of the week.
- 8:29Speaker 3: It is the it's a cat. It's a cat this
- 8:32Speaker 3: week named old Man Jenkins and he's currently a resident
- 8:37Speaker 3: at the Petgo Penhouse out at South Ridge, just waiting
- 8:40Speaker 3: on an adoption. I said this in the description that
- 8:42Speaker 3: the listeners will see when they go over to my
- 8:45Speaker 3: social media. This cat is a survivor. Tell us the story.
- 8:50Speaker 9: So old Man Jenkins is not only a little bit
- 8:53Speaker 9: older in age, but he also came from the same
- 8:56Speaker 9: abandoned home that Skips With the cat we featured a
- 8:59Speaker 9: couple of weeks ago. He's from the same home ass
- 9:01Speaker 9: Skip with, so he had been abandoned on his own
- 9:04Speaker 9: for a little bit. And when he came into the shelter,
- 9:07Speaker 9: we also discovered that he had a disease called pan
- 9:10Speaker 9: luc apina, which, if you're unfamiliar, it is a disease
- 9:14Speaker 9: pretty similar to parvo and dogs. It's mainly attackt unvaccinated
- 9:20Speaker 9: or very very young cats and kittens. And he actually
- 9:24Speaker 9: beat that. It's very uncommon to see an old cat
- 9:27Speaker 9: with pan luke, but he beat pan Luke and now
- 9:31Speaker 9: he is awaiting a hole at Petko.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Like you said, beautiful, beautiful cat. Gover and see the picture.
- 9:37Speaker 3: And then again if you're looking for a little bit
- 9:38Speaker 3: of an older cat and a survivor with a great story,
- 9:42Speaker 3: it all turned out good and so for old man Jenkins,
- 9:45Speaker 3: go check out the picture.
- 9:46Speaker 8: All right.
- 9:46Speaker 3: So you guys got a real blessing this week with
- 9:48Speaker 3: something called the Hero Project.
- 9:50Speaker 9: Talk about it, absolutely so, the Hero Project. We had
- 9:55Speaker 9: some wonderful, wonderful people from Loewe's, two different loads in
- 10:01Speaker 9: our region come out and build us some playard furniture, which,
- 10:05Speaker 9: if you don't know, it's just structures that dogs can
- 10:07Speaker 9: play on playyard furniture. We had picnic tables built. They
- 10:13Speaker 9: beautified our recycling center, they built us a little gazebo
- 10:17Speaker 9: type situation. They just really worked all day long in
- 10:20Speaker 9: the pouring rain for us at the shelter, just to
- 10:24Speaker 9: make our area more enjoyable, enjoyable, and more beautiful. So
- 10:28Speaker 9: we are thankful for that, but not only thankful that
- 10:31Speaker 9: they did all that, but again they did it all
- 10:33Speaker 9: of the pouring rain, and we are so so thankful
- 10:35Speaker 9: for them.
- 10:37Speaker 3: All right, just a good stuff. Now, are you guys
- 10:38Speaker 3: out on about anywhere this weekend?
- 10:41Speaker 9: So we will be at the fall fest in clin Dinnon.
- 10:45Speaker 9: We'll be put up near Clin Dionnon Brewing Company. At
- 10:48Speaker 9: that gazebo, you'll see one of our wonderful volunteers, Sydney,
- 10:52Speaker 9: that we love so very much. She's gonna have some
- 10:54Speaker 9: puppies out there to talk about possibly getting them adopted
- 10:57Speaker 9: or fostered. You can't do either. You can still visit
- 11:00Speaker 9: at this and talk about the pup.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Peace all right, Angie. As always, we love having you
- 11:04Speaker 3: on the show, and we'll talk to you again next week.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Thanks a lot.
- 11:07Speaker 9: Sounds great.
- 11:08Speaker 3: You'll have a good one all right again. Old Man
- 11:10Speaker 3: Jenkins is our cat's name this week. He's about five
- 11:13Speaker 3: years old, neutered and up to date on all of
- 11:15Speaker 3: his vaccines, currently at the Petco Penhouse out at South Ridge,
- 11:18Speaker 3: and definitely a survivor. As Angie just told you. I
- 11:20Speaker 3: get his picture posted on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook

- 14:26Speaker 3: to the show.
- 14:26Speaker 8: Good morning, Thank you very much for having me.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Now I'm gonna say, by the accent, you may not
- 14:31Speaker 3: be from here.
- 14:32Speaker 8: What gave that away?
- 14:33Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't know. Just Sydney Australia is
- 14:35Speaker 3: and where your friend that's it.
- 14:36Speaker 8: Yeah, so I grew up.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Was wrestling something that you always wanted to do?
- 14:41Speaker 13: I think it was around eight years old was when
- 14:43Speaker 13: I made the decision.
- 14:44Speaker 8: I was like, pro wrestling is what I want to do.
- 14:45Speaker 13: I think before that it was rugby was the first thing,
- 14:49Speaker 13: then surfing as most Australians would go through that phase.
- 14:52Speaker 13: But yeah, then eight years old, it was from then
- 14:55Speaker 13: it was I know I wanted to be a pro wrestler.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Now we think sometimes about wrestling being a American thing,
- 15:01Speaker 3: or maybe we think about it being big in Japan
- 15:03Speaker 3: and so like we don't always think about Australia. Now
- 15:05Speaker 3: we know about you know about your broadcast and the
- 15:08Speaker 3: others coming into Australia, But is there a big pro
- 15:10Speaker 3: wrestling scene in Australia.
- 15:11Speaker 8: Uh, it's definitely getting bigger.
- 15:14Speaker 13: When I first started training, when I first started going
- 15:17Speaker 13: to the shows in Australia, it was it was quite small.
- 15:20Speaker 13: It didn't really have that kind of buzz around it.
- 15:21Speaker 13: But now with the Internet and stuff and word getting
- 15:24Speaker 13: around in streaming and things like that, yeah, it's the
- 15:26Speaker 13: scene's definitely growing and there's as you can tell, a
- 15:29Speaker 13: lot of great Australian wrestlers coming out nowadays.
- 15:32Speaker 3: And you're twenty six is twenty six? Yeah, twenty six
- 15:35Speaker 3: years old. And when I say that you are, I
- 15:39Speaker 3: was gonna say you're on your way, You're already there.
- 15:41Speaker 3: I mean you're the T and T champion and at
- 15:43Speaker 3: age twenty six, I mean you got big, big things
- 15:46Speaker 3: in front of you right.
- 15:47Speaker 8: Now, hopefully man.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, And of course you know, aw as I mentioned,
- 15:50Speaker 3: we were talking about the world wide thing. You guys
- 15:52Speaker 3: could be in Huntington tomorrow night, but you're all over
- 15:54Speaker 3: the country and all over the world. You also did
- 15:56Speaker 3: a lot in Japan. Talk about your time in Japan.
- 15:58Speaker 8: I did. Yeah, I loved my time in Japan.
- 16:00Speaker 13: I grew up being a big fan of New Japan
- 16:03Speaker 13: Pro wrestling, so it was a dream of mine to
- 16:05Speaker 13: go and work there.
- 16:05Speaker 8: I got to spend a.
- 16:07Speaker 13: Bit of time there, won some titles in re Gokusumo Hall.
- 16:11Speaker 13: But yeah, the culture out there, the respect that they
- 16:14Speaker 13: have for wrestling is second to none, and I loved
- 16:17Speaker 13: my time there.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Talk about some of the differences between being in Japan
- 16:21Speaker 3: and being in the US as far as the wrestling
- 16:23Speaker 3: fans go.
- 16:24Speaker 13: Yeah, the fans, I'd say in Japan, it's something that
- 16:29Speaker 13: you have to adjust to because they are they are
- 16:32Speaker 13: really respectful and they'll sit there and they won't make
- 16:35Speaker 13: any noise, but it's just because they're paying such close
- 16:39Speaker 13: attention to what is happening in the ring, Whereas American
- 16:42Speaker 13: fans Australian fans as well, they're just so into it
- 16:46Speaker 13: that they that they want to make as much noise
- 16:47Speaker 13: as possible. They want to be a part of the show,
- 16:49Speaker 13: and they're just there to have fun. So it's definitely
- 16:51Speaker 13: you have to learn to kind of cater to the
- 16:55Speaker 13: different audiences you're in front of.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I talked to a lot of gas in the business
- 16:59Speaker 3: and listeners know that I spent time into business as well,
- 17:02Speaker 3: and uh, and they talked about their first trips to
- 17:05Speaker 3: Japan and they grew up watching it here. You know,
- 17:07Speaker 3: this is a lot of us was pretting it and
- 17:08Speaker 3: then they thought they were doing something wrong when they
- 17:11Speaker 3: went to Japan, and the fans weren't like yelling and
- 17:13Speaker 3: screaming and losing their minds like they do in America.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Uh and in other places as well. But it's a
- 17:17Speaker 3: totally different culture and a lot of guys and and
- 17:20Speaker 3: and gals really like the Japanese style just it's different.
- 17:23Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah, definitely. I mean I grew up being a
- 17:25Speaker 13: huge fan of it, so I kind of went in
- 17:28Speaker 13: there with an understanding of what it was. But I
- 17:30Speaker 13: can I can see how it for a first time
- 17:34Speaker 13: on going over there, it can it can be a
- 17:36Speaker 13: shock man.
- 17:36Speaker 8: Absolutely.
- 17:37Speaker 3: We're talking to Ae w str Kyle Fletcher. By the way,
- 17:40Speaker 3: we have a winner on our tickets. Want to say
- 17:43Speaker 3: congratulations to Kara Armstrong of South Charleston. She was a
- 17:46Speaker 3: winner of our tickets for the WVU game. Kara and
- 17:49Speaker 3: a guesst A're gonna be going to Morgantown tomorrow setting
- 17:51Speaker 3: in the touchdown terrace for that game for the Mountaineers
- 17:54Speaker 3: in Utah. Kara Armstrong from South Charleston was our winner.
- 17:57Speaker 3: So congratulations to Kara. And your career really took off
- 18:02Speaker 3: doing some research in the tag team ranks, that's kind
- 18:05Speaker 3: of where you were known as. But now you're doing
- 18:08Speaker 3: your thing as a singles wrestle. We'll talk about contrasting
- 18:10Speaker 3: the styles.
- 18:10Speaker 13: Yeah, absolutely, I mean, going from me in a tag team,
- 18:14Speaker 13: it's very much like you have someone to bounce all
- 18:18Speaker 13: your ideas off someone to collaborate with and like kind
- 18:21Speaker 13: of proofread everything. It's kind of a joint thing. Whereas
- 18:25Speaker 13: being a singles wrestler, a lot of most of the
- 18:27Speaker 13: ideas of mine, everything that you see about my presentation
- 18:30Speaker 13: when I'm in the ring, the moves I want to do,
- 18:32Speaker 13: all that kind of thing, they're kind of my own
- 18:34Speaker 13: brain child. So's you kind of have to have a
- 18:37Speaker 13: total different level of trust in your own instincts because
- 18:41Speaker 13: you don't have that person to check you when your
- 18:43Speaker 13: ideas suck.
- 18:44Speaker 8: Right.
- 18:45Speaker 13: So yeah, so it's been a bit of an adjustment,
- 18:48Speaker 13: but I really feel like I'm finding my confidence in
- 18:52Speaker 13: the ring on my own. And yeah, I think having
- 18:55Speaker 13: the TNT Championship kind of proves that I would.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Hope and aew For those that that don't know, ad
- 19:01Speaker 3: A w started a few years ago, uh and and
- 19:04Speaker 3: and and you're it's a rising organization, has been you
- 19:07Speaker 3: know for some time. Uh And it's giving, you know,
- 19:10Speaker 3: because for so long there was the one guys, and
- 19:12Speaker 3: then there were all the little ones. Hm, Okay, now
- 19:16Speaker 3: it's not that way. I mean, you guys are doing
- 19:18Speaker 3: are doing amazing things and giving people and giving Here's
- 19:21Speaker 3: what I like about it. It gives fans an opportunity
- 19:24Speaker 3: to have different products and high level products.
- 19:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 19:27Speaker 13: Absolutely, I think I think just since AW has been around,
- 19:31Speaker 13: the wrestling industry has changed so much and for the
- 19:35Speaker 13: better in so many different ways. Uh Yeah, Like you said,
- 19:38Speaker 13: fans have options now they can they can choose what
- 19:42Speaker 13: they want to watch and and wrestling for so long
- 19:44Speaker 13: was had to be a certain way and if.
- 19:46Speaker 8: It wasn't that way, it was wrong.
- 19:48Speaker 13: And AW really celebrates all kinds of wrestling, all walks
- 19:52Speaker 13: of wrestling.
- 19:53Speaker 8: There's there's no right or wrong.
- 19:55Speaker 13: It's just celebrating pro wrestling as a beautiful art form
- 19:58Speaker 13: in every single way. And uh I, I think the
- 20:00Speaker 13: industry is better for it.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Kind of injuries have you sustained?
- 20:04Speaker 8: I have been touch wood, very lucky.
- 20:08Speaker 13: I think the worst one I had in Japan, I
- 20:11Speaker 13: did a moon salt from the back flip from the
- 20:14Speaker 13: top rope to the floor, over rotated a little bit
- 20:18Speaker 13: too much and smacked the back of my head on
- 20:22Speaker 13: a steel guard rail and seven stitches or something like that.
- 20:27Speaker 8: That that was the worst one. And that's pretty that's
- 20:29Speaker 8: pretty good for pro wrestling. I'll take that.
- 20:32Speaker 3: And I said that jin, you'll trip walking up the
- 20:36Speaker 3: steps here now, knocking on all the wood, knocking on
- 20:38Speaker 3: all the genuine simulated brick. Oh yeah, here in the studio.
- 20:42Speaker 3: So now you're the T and T champion. But I
- 20:44Speaker 3: know the ultimate goal is to be the world champion.
- 20:47Speaker 8: Of course. Yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 13: I think I've known that. That's been my destiny for
- 20:52Speaker 13: since I was eight years old. It's it's what i've
- 20:55Speaker 13: what I've chased after. I just had my first shot
- 20:57Speaker 13: at the world title this past Saturday, all out against
- 21:00Speaker 13: Hangman Page. Took me to my limit, but it kind
- 21:04Speaker 13: of gave me that taste and now I'm even hungrier
- 21:07Speaker 13: and I know it's gonna happen very soon.
- 21:09Speaker 3: And of course you're the T and T champion now,
- 21:10Speaker 3: and that's that's that's certainly nothing to be scoffed at him.
- 21:13Speaker 8: It's a pretty presidious champions huge accolade.
- 21:15Speaker 13: Yeah, And I think right now the focus is on
- 21:19Speaker 13: becoming the greatest T and T champion of all time.
- 21:22Speaker 13: And I think if I can get there, it just
- 21:24Speaker 13: goes goes along with my building that legacy and going
- 21:28Speaker 13: down as one of the greatest of all time.
- 21:31Speaker 3: You not long ago got to win over the legendary
- 21:34Speaker 3: Dustin Rhoades, son of the iconic one of my all
- 21:37Speaker 3: time favorite wrestlers of the American Dreams star dust Dusty
- 21:41Speaker 3: Rhodes talk about beating a veteran like Dustin Rhads.
- 21:45Speaker 13: Yeah, like I said, it just things like that go
- 21:48Speaker 13: into building this legacy that I'm that I'm chasing after
- 21:51Speaker 13: someone like Dustin Rhodes, who's been There's some some stat
- 21:56Speaker 13: I think he's wrestled in five different decades, something ridiculous
- 22:00Speaker 13: that maybe the only wrestler to ever do that. So yeah,
- 22:03Speaker 13: for me as a twenty six year old to be
- 22:05Speaker 13: able to beat someone that caliber just goes to show
- 22:09Speaker 13: the kind of wrestler that I am. And yeah, keep
- 22:12Speaker 13: building that resume.
- 22:13Speaker 3: And of course the big event is tomorrow night at
- 22:16Speaker 3: the Martiall Health Network Arena in Huntington, AW Collision. Talk
- 22:21Speaker 3: about who you're facing tomorrow name.
- 22:22Speaker 8: I am wrestling.
- 22:24Speaker 13: I'm defending my teens championship against a man named Commander,
- 22:28Speaker 13: a young luchidore who have had one match with before
- 22:32Speaker 13: in the past, and that one that went pretty crazy.
- 22:36Speaker 13: So yeah, Commander's coming back off an injury. First match back,
- 22:40Speaker 13: I think he's pretty excited. I think I'm pretty excited.
- 22:43Speaker 13: I think it's gonna be a fun one.
- 22:45Speaker 3: For people that haven't seen you, Kyle talk about your style.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I mean, you know, you spent the time in Japan,
- 22:50Speaker 3: but you were also obviously native Australian and you come
- 22:53Speaker 3: to America, where as you said with aw they like
- 22:55Speaker 3: to kind of blend the difference. There's so many different
- 22:58Speaker 3: styles out there. If you had to put yourself in
- 23:00Speaker 3: a category, what's your what's your one or two styles?
- 23:04Speaker 13: Possibly I like to think of my style as maybe
- 23:11Speaker 13: not so much a style, but I just love beating
- 23:15Speaker 13: people up so much, and I love picking people up,
- 23:20Speaker 13: dropping them on their heads, slamming them down as hard
- 23:23Speaker 13: as physically possible. I'm strong, I'm fast, I'm agile. I
- 23:27Speaker 13: can blend almost every style of wrestling together seamlessly with
- 23:32Speaker 13: an intensity that you have never seen before.
- 23:35Speaker 8: So if that, if that rounds out.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Part, it's perfect. Perfect attributes for our our sales person here, Bobby,
- 23:41Speaker 3: who's the one that brought you in the studio. She's
- 23:43Speaker 3: also the same way. She likes to beat people up
- 23:45Speaker 3: and drop them on their heads. Amazing, So it all
- 23:47Speaker 3: all kind of I'll give her a shot of my
- 23:49Speaker 3: championship stop for she's already said she wants to have
- 23:52Speaker 3: a picture, So we'll do that on your way out,
- 23:53Speaker 3: because I know you guys will got plenty more stops
- 23:55Speaker 3: today and so you're out, you know, doing this sort
- 23:58Speaker 3: of thing now because I know you've made the rounds
- 24:00Speaker 3: and you guys are going to honeying to do some
- 24:01Speaker 3: TV today. So people, it's not just about the thirty
- 24:06Speaker 3: to forty five minutes or maybe an hour that you
- 24:08Speaker 3: spend in the ring every night. There's a whole lot
- 24:09Speaker 3: that goes into it.
- 24:10Speaker 13: Yeah, there is. I mean, this is my whole life.
- 24:13Speaker 13: Like I said, I've been fan since I was eight
- 24:16Speaker 13: years old. I've been training since I was fourteen years old.
- 24:18Speaker 13: I've been wrestling for nearly half my life. And yeah,
- 24:21Speaker 13: it is my whole life. I go home and it's
- 24:23Speaker 13: all I think about, it's all I watch. My whole
- 24:26Speaker 13: day is based around becoming the best professional wrestler I
- 24:29Speaker 13: possibly can and hopefully becoming the best professional wrestler of
- 24:32Speaker 13: all time one day.
- 24:33Speaker 8: So yeah, it's not just not just what you see
- 24:35Speaker 8: in the ring. There's a whole lot that goes into it.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Well, let's talk about the training aspect of it, because
- 24:39Speaker 3: that's a big part of it. What's an average training
- 24:42Speaker 3: day like for you? I know it's hard when you're
- 24:44Speaker 3: on the road, you know, of course, what do you
- 24:46Speaker 3: do to stay in shape?
- 24:47Speaker 13: Man, it's I'm in the gym six days a week
- 24:51Speaker 13: in the morning, I try and get my cardio in.
- 24:54Speaker 13: I'll do all my mobility type stuff, chiropracta every week, saunas,
- 25:00Speaker 13: all the recovery type stuff, and then yeah, on the
- 25:03Speaker 13: road it becomes difficult, but you just get it in
- 25:05Speaker 13: when you can. Nutrition is very important. I'm very dialed
- 25:07Speaker 13: in with that as well. So yeah, like I said,
- 25:09Speaker 13: as a full time job.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Honestly, people don't understand how important the cardio is on
- 25:14Speaker 3: it for sure. I mean you can have the big
- 25:16Speaker 3: you know, the awesome bodies and everything, but after about
- 25:19Speaker 3: ten minutes in, if you don't have the cardio, none
- 25:21Speaker 3: of it matters.
- 25:21Speaker 8: That's it.
- 25:22Speaker 13: Yeah, I just wrestled forty minutes this past weekend, So
- 25:25Speaker 13: there's nothing like in ring cardio.
- 25:27Speaker 8: You got to get those reps in.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Who were and I know you guys got to go,
- 25:31Speaker 3: but who are some of the folks that you watch
- 25:32Speaker 3: growing up that really really struck a fancy with you
- 25:37Speaker 3: if you want to do this.
- 25:39Speaker 13: Like I said, I'm twenty six, so I'm a bit younger.
- 25:41Speaker 13: My first, very first favorite was Jeff Hardy. He's the
- 25:44Speaker 13: one that really made me fall in love with wrestling,
- 25:47Speaker 13: and then from there it was my love of Japanese wrestling.
- 25:50Speaker 13: It was Jusianliga was one of my big guys. Prince
- 25:54Speaker 13: Devitt as well, and then Kenny Omega who was one
- 25:57Speaker 13: of the founders of AW in the end, they were
- 25:58Speaker 13: kind of kind of the one that made me fall
- 26:00Speaker 13: in love with it.
- 26:01Speaker 3: All right, Well, the big event is tomorrow night. Uh,
- 26:05Speaker 3: it's a collision AEW collision of too Marshall Health Network Arena.

- 30:12Speaker 3: I had a great time with that interview with AW
- 30:15Speaker 3: with the aw star there, Kyle Fletcher, I mean, just
- 30:18Speaker 3: super nice guy. Uh and uh, he's gonna do great
- 30:22Speaker 3: things in that in the business. He already is. I mean,
- 30:24Speaker 3: he's already wrestled for the world championship and he's a
- 30:26Speaker 3: current T and T champion. He's just twenty six years old.
- 30:29Speaker 3: It was amazing to me to find out that so
- 30:33Speaker 3: far at twenty six, the only serious injury he's had
- 30:35Speaker 3: or stitches. That's because people don't understand this about the
- 30:40Speaker 3: wrestling business. They think, oh, you know, it's this and
- 30:42Speaker 3: it's that, and those guys don't really get hurt. Talk
- 30:44Speaker 3: to any wrestler over the edge of forty and watch
- 30:47Speaker 3: him walk. I mean, there is no easy way to
- 30:51Speaker 3: get slammed onto a floor. You get slammed onto a floor,
- 30:54Speaker 3: it hurts. You go through a table, it hurts.
- 30:57Speaker 8: Period.
- 30:57Speaker 3: It's just a matter of the pay. That's why I
- 30:58Speaker 3: did the announcing thing as opposed to the wrestling thing.
- 31:01Speaker 3: That's the that's the whole reason I did that, all right,
- 31:04Speaker 3: So I wan't to talk about an event that's going
- 31:06Speaker 3: to be going on in South Charleston and it is
- 31:09Speaker 3: happening on Sunday over at the Memorial Ice Arena and
- 31:13Speaker 3: the benefits Little Victory Animal Rescue group. It's called Paul's
- 31:16Speaker 3: on Ice. Stephanie Howe's with the group and she joins
- 31:18Speaker 3: us now to talk about it. Good morning, Stephanie, welcome
- 31:21Speaker 3: to the show.
- 31:22Speaker 6: Well, good morning, it's I'm glad to be here.
- 31:24Speaker 3: All right. Yeah, well, I'm glad to have you here
- 31:26Speaker 3: as well. So talk about this big event, because you
- 31:29Speaker 3: and I were talking on the phone yesterday about this,
- 31:32Speaker 3: and yeah, it's a great fundraiser for the organization, and
- 31:36Speaker 3: we'll get in that a little bit later on. But
- 31:37Speaker 3: I mean, folks are into the into the whole Ice Games.
- 31:41Speaker 3: This is a great opportunity for them to see some
- 31:43Speaker 3: world class people right here in South Charleston.
- 31:46Speaker 8: Yes it is.
- 31:47Speaker 6: And you know, even if you're not into ice skating
- 31:49Speaker 6: and you've got kids or something like that, this is
- 31:51Speaker 6: a great opportunity to have a Sunday evening family night out.
- 31:57Speaker 6: The skaters are literally world renowned JD and Alexis Rappole.
- 32:01Speaker 6: They have skated in fifty countries on cruise ships. They
- 32:06Speaker 6: hold againess World World Book of Records, and Madison didn't
- 32:11Speaker 6: say she too was world renowned. She skates on ships
- 32:15Speaker 6: and she's incredible. And then we're flying somebody in her
- 32:19Speaker 6: name's Angela Wang and she does cruise ships and things
- 32:22Speaker 6: like that. So this is an event that's been never
- 32:27Speaker 6: done before for a fundraiser that we know of. So
- 32:29Speaker 6: these skaters are all coming together from all over the
- 32:32Speaker 6: country to do this event for Little Victories.
- 32:34Speaker 3: And let's talk about Little Victories for a little bit.
- 32:38Speaker 6: Okay, for those of your listeners that don't know, Little
- 32:41Speaker 6: Victories is a no kill animal rescue in owner West
- 32:44Speaker 6: Virginia and we are not huge. We don't get any
- 32:49Speaker 6: funding from city, county or anything like that. All the
- 32:51Speaker 6: money that's raised is my job, and so these events
- 32:57Speaker 6: like this fundraiser are what helped keep us going. We
- 33:01Speaker 6: have fifty five cats, I mean fifty five dogs and
- 33:03Speaker 6: thirty five cats. Our cats are in a free roaming
- 33:06Speaker 6: cat house, so they're not in cages or anything like that.
- 33:09Speaker 6: It's literally a three bedroom, two bath house and they
- 33:12Speaker 6: have free ring, which is pretty cool.
- 33:14Speaker 3: I love that. I love the fact that they can
- 33:15Speaker 3: do that, I mean, and and I love the fact
- 33:17Speaker 3: that we have a lot of great volunteers because you look,
- 33:20Speaker 3: you know, we we do animal rescue groups and organizations
- 33:23Speaker 3: on the air of the time. We just featured one
- 33:24Speaker 3: as a matter of fact, out of Huntington a couple
- 33:26Speaker 3: of days ago on our our Wonderful West Virginian segment
- 33:30Speaker 3: that Amanda Baron and I do on Metro News Midday,
- 33:32Speaker 3: and they talk about the need for this and there's
- 33:35Speaker 3: such a there's such an issue, uh, with our with
- 33:38Speaker 3: our strays out there, cats, dogs and sometimes other things.
- 33:40Speaker 3: I mean, God bless you folks that are that are
- 33:42Speaker 3: doing this sort of thing. But you can't do it
- 33:45Speaker 3: if you if you don't have money to pull it off.
- 33:47Speaker 3: And that's where these events, that's where these events come at.
- 33:49Speaker 3: And big hats off to these folks that are going
- 33:52Speaker 3: to be at the at the Ice Arena in South
- 33:55Speaker 3: Charleston on Sunday, because I mean, they could be doing
- 33:57Speaker 3: a hundred and two hundred other things, but they're choosing
- 34:00Speaker 3: to be here to help out a great cause, right.
- 34:02Speaker 6: And one of the cool things this all went down
- 34:04Speaker 6: like in a six week saying because all the skaters
- 34:07Speaker 6: are getting ready to go out to do their contracts.
- 34:11Speaker 6: Some of them are going on cruise ships. Jad and
- 34:13Speaker 6: Alexis are going up to New York to do a
- 34:15Speaker 6: big show through Christmas. So I mean they really do
- 34:20Speaker 6: have someplace else they could be and not skating on
- 34:22Speaker 6: their time off. But it's not going to only be
- 34:24Speaker 6: the professionals. It's going to be some learn to Skate,
- 34:27Speaker 6: which are people that are just learning to skate. The
- 34:30Speaker 6: ice hockey team is going to do a performance to
- 34:33Speaker 6: Who Let the Dogs Out? Which ought to be a
- 34:35Speaker 6: cute same love them exactly. And then what's really fun
- 34:39Speaker 6: too is at intermission we're going to do a Frosty
- 34:43Speaker 6: Palls walk across the ice. So we have seven or
- 34:47Speaker 6: eight dogs that are going to walk across the ice
- 34:49Speaker 6: and they're all adoptable and it'll be like a little
- 34:51Speaker 6: parade of adoptable dogs.
- 34:54Speaker 3: That sounds great again, We're talking to Stephanie. How about
- 34:57Speaker 3: this big ice event? This is going to be going
- 34:58Speaker 3: on over at South Charles's raising money for Little Victories,
- 35:00Speaker 3: The Dave Island Show and five Any Life is brought
- 35:02Speaker 3: to you in part by Hustin's Pizza. This month, pick
- 35:05Speaker 3: up a large at inch pepperoni pizza and an order
- 35:07Speaker 3: of six meatballs twenty four ninety nine dining delivery or pickup.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Visit Huston's Pizza dot com. And you know you mentioned
- 35:13Speaker 3: about them doing the performance to Who Let the Dogs Out.
- 35:16Speaker 3: That's one of the things that I like about because
- 35:19Speaker 3: for so long and I consider skating to be an
- 35:21Speaker 3: art somebody who can barely walk up and down steps
- 35:24Speaker 3: without falling, Okay, I have no ability whatsoever in that,
- 35:28Speaker 3: but one of the things I like about skating and
- 35:30Speaker 3: then you can And I had somebody on from the
- 35:34Speaker 3: West Virginian Symphony last week and we were talking about
- 35:36Speaker 3: some of the things that they do. One of the
- 35:37Speaker 3: things I like about where we've kind of come right
- 35:40Speaker 3: now is these things that are art likes and as
- 35:43Speaker 3: like I said, skating is art to me. It's athleticism obviously,
- 35:46Speaker 3: but there's a lot of art involved as well. They're
- 35:48Speaker 3: starting to embrace it's not just you know, you just
- 35:51Speaker 3: don't hear the pretty classical music when you go out.
- 35:54Speaker 3: You hear contemporary stuff. And I love that kind of thing.
- 35:58Speaker 3: Talk about that a little.
- 35:59Speaker 6: Bit, well, I mean, you kind of have to move
- 36:02Speaker 6: on with ages. It's I grew up doing gymnastics, and
- 36:04Speaker 6: it was the same thing. It was classical music, you know,
- 36:07Speaker 6: very boring piano pieces and things like that. And now
- 36:11Speaker 6: they are allowing these quote unquote artists to pick their
- 36:16Speaker 6: own thing that's something that fits their personality, which I
- 36:18Speaker 6: think that's important, and it also keeps the audiences engaged.
- 36:22Speaker 6: You know, if you're sitting there listening to songs you
- 36:25Speaker 6: don't know, you might lose your train of thought, you know,
- 36:27Speaker 6: not stay concentrated. But I think the fact that they
- 36:30Speaker 6: can pick their own pieces the songs, and one of
- 36:34Speaker 6: the things that the skaters we're talking about is they
- 36:37Speaker 6: normally when they go to do a show that's on
- 36:41Speaker 6: a ship, everything's choreographed for them. And this I show
- 36:46Speaker 6: has given them the opportunity to do their own choreography
- 36:49Speaker 6: and show more of their own personality. So I want
- 36:52Speaker 6: your listeners to realize this is such a huge opportunity
- 36:56Speaker 6: and you can They can get their tickets now and
- 37:00Speaker 6: if they get them at the door, which they are available,
- 37:01Speaker 6: but they're five dollars more the day of the show.
- 37:04Speaker 6: So if they want to get tickets now, it's at
- 37:08Speaker 6: Little Victories dot Org and they can hit the events
- 37:12Speaker 6: page and you can buy your tickets there and there's
- 37:14Speaker 6: two levels of tickets. You can get a thirty dollars
- 37:17Speaker 6: ticket general admission, or you can get the fifty dollars
- 37:20Speaker 6: ticket and that gives you a meet and greet, so
- 37:24Speaker 6: you can go in and get your picture made with
- 37:26Speaker 6: the professional ice skaters, the programs, you can have your
- 37:29Speaker 6: program signed by the skaters. And then we also have
- 37:33Speaker 6: the cozy lounge with the pups and you can go
- 37:36Speaker 6: in with your meet and greet and meet the skaters
- 37:39Speaker 6: and the dogs. So just in the plus, the extra
- 37:43Speaker 6: twenty dollars is twenty dollars for Little Victories, so you're
- 37:45Speaker 6: providing medicine and things like that for dogs and cats.
- 37:50Speaker 3: And I also do want to mention that my Metro
- 37:52Speaker 3: News Midday co host Amanda Baron alongside Marrily mccalluff, we're
- 37:55Speaker 3: going to be in seeing the event, right.
- 37:57Speaker 6: Yes, they are actually board president works at w w
- 38:02Speaker 6: K and when this all came about, I said to Bill,
- 38:04Speaker 6: I'm like, do you think somebody from the station would
- 38:06Speaker 6: be willing to mc and Amanda and marri Lee both said, yeah,
- 38:11Speaker 6: we'll do it, so you'll get to come out and
- 38:14Speaker 6: see them live instead of just on air, and you
- 38:19Speaker 6: know you might be able to if they stick around,
- 38:20Speaker 6: you might get to do a meet and greet with
- 38:22Speaker 6: them as well.
- 38:22Speaker 3: Well, it's really not that big a deal with Amanda,
- 38:24Speaker 3: I'll tell you it's it's not that big a deal
- 38:26Speaker 3: to meet Amanda, just so you know.
- 38:28Speaker 6: Yeah, she's I think I think she'll be very nice
- 38:34Speaker 6: to people and let them meet her.
- 38:35Speaker 3: She's awesome, so she really I hope she's not listening
- 38:37Speaker 3: to this because I want to give her the big head.
- 38:39Speaker 3: But she's all right, she's alright, we have fun. I'm
- 38:42Speaker 3: sure she's like the little sister I never needed.
- 38:44Speaker 8: But anyways, a good girl.
- 38:47Speaker 3: So and i'll pay. I'll pay good money if you can.
- 38:50Speaker 3: And I don't know about their athletic backgrounds, but I
- 38:52Speaker 3: know Amanda has told me that she was. She did
- 38:56Speaker 3: a lot of athletic stuff. I'm sure Merrily probably did too.
- 38:58Speaker 3: But if you can get either one of them out
- 38:59Speaker 3: on skates, I'll make a donation of little victories.
- 39:01Speaker 2: How's that?
- 39:02Speaker 6: Well, I think either if I get them on, get
- 39:05Speaker 6: either of them on skates or not, you still should
- 39:07Speaker 6: make a donor.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Well, okay, all right, all right, all right, duly noted.
- 39:12Speaker 3: All right, I appreciate you taking time on your schedule.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Be here, give us the time and the location. How
- 39:19Speaker 3: to get tickets again?
- 39:20Speaker 6: Okay, it's at the South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena, and
- 39:25Speaker 6: it's up on off corridor, G up for target and
- 39:27Speaker 6: everything is up there, and it's Sunday. The twenty eighth
- 39:32Speaker 6: doors open at four forty five. The my mind, I'm like,
- 39:37Speaker 6: oh yeah, and it starts at five point thirty. And
- 39:42Speaker 6: you can get tickets at Little Victories dot org and
- 39:45Speaker 6: just hit the events page and those are available there,
- 39:48Speaker 6: or you can get same day tickets, but it's five
- 39:51Speaker 6: dollars more so you can save five dollars if you
- 39:53Speaker 6: go ahead and get them in advance.
- 39:55Speaker 3: All right, So haven't been a pleasure to have you
- 39:56Speaker 3: on the show. Best of lucome to your event on Sunday.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Thanks a lot.
- 39:59Speaker 6: I appreciate it.

- 44:25Speaker 3: I'm not really sure what that's about, because I'm kind
- 44:28Speaker 3: of busy right now, but I do appreciate the text
- 44:31Speaker 3: on We'll look into it. Maybe talk about that on
- 44:33Speaker 3: Metro News midday. Let me see text says and Dave,
- 44:39Speaker 3: I know you really don't care about agriculture, which is
- 44:41Speaker 3: ironic due to your proclaim proclaimed love of food. But
- 44:45Speaker 3: did you see the recent news about American agriculture. Trump
- 44:48Speaker 3: is going to bail out the farmers because they can't
- 44:50Speaker 3: sell their product due to his tariffs. Farmers New China
- 44:55Speaker 3: wouldn't be buying corn and soybeans, but planted them anyway.
- 44:58Speaker 3: These people made a bad decision and now want the
- 45:00Speaker 3: government to financially help them fix their mistake. Does that
- 45:03Speaker 3: sound familiar to the student loan forgiveness? It does to me.
- 45:07Speaker 3: Socialism for me but not for THEE is the motto
- 45:09Speaker 3: of the GOP. That was a great job with the
- 45:12Speaker 3: rhyming there. From the texture, I'll say that Tex says, Yes,
- 45:18Speaker 3: people need to know that not all animals needing forever
- 45:20Speaker 3: homes are at the shelter. Please remember rescues that offices
- 45:23Speaker 3: and clinics when adopting or donated. And I uh one
- 45:26Speaker 3: percent agree with that, and I know Angie Gillenwater, who
- 45:28Speaker 3: we have on every Friday from the Cadal Charleston Humane Association,
- 45:31Speaker 3: would say the exact same thing. There are very if
- 45:33Speaker 3: you want to you wanna forever pet and a texture
- 45:36Speaker 3: gets credit for spelling it if you are which is
- 45:39Speaker 3: the way we pronounce it in southern West Virginia. Anyway,
- 45:41Speaker 3: I would say that there are if you want a
- 45:45Speaker 3: pat there are various places to get them, and we
- 45:48Speaker 3: think about the shelter because we have a great working
- 45:50Speaker 3: relationship here. But Angie will be the first to tell
- 45:52Speaker 3: you there are other places. You know, look into these
- 45:54Speaker 3: or just help out. And here's the thing about it,
- 45:56Speaker 3: when it comes to pets, not everybody can have a
- 46:00Speaker 3: house or yard full of dogs and cats. And I
- 46:02Speaker 3: completely get this. Some can't have any at all. You
- 46:04Speaker 3: live in an apartment, or you know, maybe you're allergic.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Still love pets, but you're allergy to it. That's understandable.
- 46:09Speaker 3: There's so many different ways that you can help that
- 46:11Speaker 3: don't even involve taking in an animal. I mean from donations,
- 46:16Speaker 3: volunteering time. A lot of people are willing, a lot
- 46:20Speaker 3: of people do that. You know, you can be a foster.

- 46:48Speaker 3: Midday later Today with thirteen News in Tonight Live Anchor
- 46:51Speaker 3: Amanda Baron and Me powered by Selango Law. It is
- 46:54Speaker 3: Friday night, which it's not Friday night. I'm already thinking
- 46:59Speaker 3: Friday night. It's Friday afternoon and it will be later
- 47:03Speaker 3: and that means we're going to introduce you to another
- 47:06Speaker 3: great eatery around the state on a lunch spot segment,
- 47:08Speaker 3: and I'm going to give you a little spoiler alert
- 47:10Speaker 3: because we go all over the state for these lunchpot things.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Last last week we were up in the Eastern Panhandle.
- 47:16Speaker 3: We go to we Wheeling, Morgantown, southern West Virginia, We've
- 47:21Speaker 3: done Beckley. We go all over this week. So I'm
- 47:24Speaker 3: not going to tell you who it is. You're gonna
- 47:25Speaker 3: have to listen tour in the one o'clock hour. This
- 47:26Speaker 3: week's is a fine eating establishment right here in the
- 47:29Speaker 3: Kanaal Valley. So it's someplace that you've probably dined before,
- 47:34Speaker 3: and somebody said, hey, you need to focus on these folks,
- 47:37Speaker 3: so we chose to do it. And so that's our
- 47:40Speaker 3: lunch spot today. Somebody from right here a restaurant right
- 47:43Speaker 3: here in the kanav Valley. So we got that on
- 47:44Speaker 3: the show today. Also, it is homecoming at West Virginia
- 47:48Speaker 3: State and the President of State, Eric Cage is going
- 47:50Speaker 3: to join us. Raleigh County Commissioner Daniel Hall is on
- 47:53Speaker 3: the show today. Over in Raleigh County, they have a
- 47:57Speaker 3: real issue with panhandling, and as many areas in the
- 48:01Speaker 3: state here, we've talked about it extensively here in Charleston.
- 48:03Speaker 3: I know in Morgantown it was a big deal, a
- 48:05Speaker 3: lot bigger big deal in Morgantown, it wasn't Charleston, to
- 48:07Speaker 3: be honest with you. Well, Daniel Hall is a county
- 48:11Speaker 3: commissioner in Raleigh County and they are looking to enact
- 48:15Speaker 3: a ordnance and still in the beginning stages, but they're
- 48:19Speaker 3: looking to enact an ordinance that would in effect band panhandling.
- 48:23Speaker 3: So we're going to talk to Daniel Hall about that.
- 48:25Speaker 3: Political columnist Mark Curtis will join us as he does
- 48:27Speaker 3: every Friday, and Daniel Woods for the Metro News sports
- 48:30Speaker 3: team and news team will join us with our Friday
- 48:32Speaker 3: football b lists. It's a great weekend Mountaineers. As I
- 48:36Speaker 3: mentioned earlier, they get that Hall of Fame game against
- 48:41Speaker 3: Utah coming up tomorrow afternoon. Marshall on the road taking
- 48:44Speaker 3: on Louisiana State, a big one for West Virginia State,
- 48:47Speaker 3: as I mentioned, as they are observing homecoming states great
- 48:51Speaker 3: college games. I'm rocking my Georgia gear today, all right,
- 48:55Speaker 3: because you know I'm a big Georgia Bulldogs fan, and
- 48:57Speaker 3: Georgia is taking on Alabama. We're going to spank some
- 49:00Speaker 3: Crimson tide tomorrow and so I've got my Georgia stuff on.
- 49:03Speaker 3: So bottom line is we are going to talk about
- 49:06Speaker 3: that in the Football Blitz with Daniel coming up during
- 49:09Speaker 3: the two o'clock hour, Metro News Midday with thirteen News
- 49:12Speaker 3: and Tight Live anchor Banda Baron and Me coming up
- 49:14Speaker 3: at noon today. It's brought to you by Selango Law
- 49:17Speaker 3: on this show. Monday, on the local show, Lisa Odie
- 49:20Speaker 3: is going.
- 49:20Speaker 8: To join us.
- 49:20Speaker 3: You may have heard her on the on the car
- 49:25Speaker 3: Lee podcast. She's going to join us on the show
- 49:28Speaker 3: on Monday, as will Danny Jones from Charleston, Maya. That's
- 49:30Speaker 3: coming up on Monday's show. Morgan Pemberton has a story
- 49:34Speaker 3: wv Metronews dot com this morning, and we talked about
- 49:36Speaker 3: this on the last two local shows last night. The
- 49:38Speaker 3: Canaw County Commission did as expected and voted to move
- 49:42Speaker 3: forward on a two million dollar project to upgrade the
- 49:45Speaker 3: law enforcement training facilities here in the county. Good move here,
- 49:48Speaker 3: in my opinion, because not only do law enforcement agencies
- 49:52Speaker 3: in Canaw County and the surrounding areas use it, but
- 49:55Speaker 3: organizations like the DEA, FBI, Customs, Homeland Security, they all
- 50:00Speaker 3: use this great stuff. Good on the Canaw County Commission
- 50:03Speaker 3: for doing this last night. I know I had commissioned
- 50:05Speaker 3: President Selango on the show Wednesday and Sheriff Joe Crawford
- 50:07Speaker 3: on the show yesterday. So me one hundred percent behind this.
- 50:10Speaker 3: It's a great thing for the area. And if you
- 50:12Speaker 3: want to read exactly how it's gonna work, still in
- 50:14Speaker 3: the planning stages. Morgan Pemberton's got the story at wv
- 50:17Speaker 3: Metronews dot com. And I hope you had a chance
- 50:20Speaker 3: to listen to the interview that I did yesterday on
- 50:23Speaker 3: Metro News Midday with the new WVU President Michael T. Benson. Now,
- 50:26Speaker 3: he's been all over the state of West Virginia. Yesterday
- 50:31Speaker 3: he was in Logan County and went down in the
- 50:33Speaker 3: mines at Mountain Laurel in the Sharples area, and then
- 50:37Speaker 3: he headed to Boone County. That's where he was when
- 50:39Speaker 3: we talked to him on the show yesterday. And of
- 50:41Speaker 3: course he's been all over Charleston the last couple of days.
- 50:42Speaker 3: Who's at George Washington High School, went down to Lincoln
- 50:45Speaker 3: County for a little white Lincoln County High as well.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Today he is at the Buckwheat Festival in Preston County
- 50:50Speaker 3: and then back to the University of this afternoon for
- 50:52Speaker 3: that ceremony where they're going to be naming the WVU
- 50:55Speaker 3: Coliseum the Hope Gas Colisseum. I'll say this about President Benson.
- 51:01Speaker 3: I like the guy. I really really do. We've interviewed him,
- 51:04Speaker 3: he's been president now for a couple of months. We've
- 51:05Speaker 3: interviewed him two three times on the show. I really
- 51:07Speaker 3: really like the guy, full of enthusiasm, is really taking
- 51:12Speaker 3: into West Virginia culture. Told us a story yesterday about
- 51:15Speaker 3: going to Tutor's Biscuit for the first time, not realizing
- 51:18Speaker 3: that that particular Tutors that he went to in Morgantown
- 51:20Speaker 3: closes at two o'clock and he was trying to get
- 51:22Speaker 3: his fix on his mouth. Of course, he's going to
- 51:24Speaker 3: get the Mountaineer. Can't get the thunder and hurt. You know,
- 51:26Speaker 3: he's going to get the Mountaineer. And we had to
- 51:29Speaker 3: educate him on that a little bit. I told him
- 51:30Speaker 3: a couple of other things that he needs to do
- 51:32Speaker 3: to be a true West Virginia and he's on his way.
- 51:35Speaker 3: I just like the guy, I really really do. I
- 51:36Speaker 3: think he's doing great things in Morgantown. I think he
- 51:38Speaker 3: will do great more things in Morgantown. And as far
- 51:41Speaker 3: as the stadium naming rights, I know a lot of
- 51:43Speaker 3: people don't like it, but look it is. It is
- 51:47Speaker 3: a necessary evil. I don't even want to call it evil.
- 51:49Speaker 3: It's just necessary in the world of athletics today and
- 51:54Speaker 3: now in college sports, which is a big business. It's
- 51:58Speaker 3: always been a big business that just what you know
- 52:01Speaker 3: about quadrup Over the last couple of years, you got
- 52:03Speaker 3: to name them. The stadiums have to be named. And
- 52:05Speaker 3: the coliseum in Morgantown was probably one of the last
- 52:08Speaker 3: of the larger colleges that didn't have naming rights. Well
- 52:11Speaker 3: it's name now it's the Hope Gas Coliseum. I think
- 52:14Speaker 3: they're going to kind of shorten it to the Hope Coliseum.
- 52:16Speaker 3: We're going to have the CEO of Hope Gas on
- 52:19Speaker 3: the show on Metro News Midday on Monday, so we're
- 52:21Speaker 3: looking forward to that conversation with him that I think
- 52:25Speaker 3: press event. I think it's early this sapterning. I want
- 52:27Speaker 3: to say one o'clock with the WV folks and Hope
- 52:31Speaker 3: Gas folks. So anyway, I just want to get that
- 52:33Speaker 3: in about Michael Benson. I really like the guy. I
- 52:35Speaker 3: like this guy too, TJ. Meadows, how's it going, man?
- 52:38Speaker 3: Would you rather it be named by some big, huge
- 52:41Speaker 3: global company that has no West Virginia time, or that
- 52:44Speaker 3: nobody knows what it means? You know, because we've seen,
- 52:47Speaker 3: I mean, with all due respect to the Steelers aquer
- 52:49Speaker 3: S Stadium, a lot of people had no idea what
- 52:51Speaker 3: that was. I mean, I like the fact that it's
- 52:52Speaker 3: a West Virginia company. It's a necessity to your point.
- 52:56Speaker 3: I like that it's a West Virginia company. And for
- 52:58Speaker 3: those that are saying, well, hope, yeah, shouldn't be able
- 53:00Speaker 3: to do that. They're a public utility. Look, it's out
- 53:02Speaker 3: of their profit. It's not out of your money. It's
- 53:05Speaker 3: it's what do they make. And there's nothing wrong with
- 53:07Speaker 3: a company making a profit. We open up that can
- 53:09Speaker 3: of square. You're preaching to the choir here, buddy. All right,
- 53:14Speaker 3: we got Meadows of Wilson going up a talk line.
- 53:16Speaker 3: I'll see later today for Metro News midday.
- 53:18Speaker 20: Till then, have fun and love somebody.
- 53:34Speaker 2: Hs Amy six point five in total stick one oh
- 53:36Speaker 2: four point five Cross Lane on WVRC Media station We're
- 53:41Speaker 2: proud to live here too.
