John 11:20 Martha therefore, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet Him, but Mary stayed at the house. Someone went before Jesus and alerted Martha that Jesus was coming. As soon as she heard, off she went to meet Him. As we know from other accounts of Martha, she’s a woman of action, and she’s not afraid of speaking her mind to Jesus. In contrast, Mary is the focused one. She’s not easily distracted and prone to busyness, so she stayed in the house with her guests. Now, let’s look at God at work.
