- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop we're talking
- 0:32about. We control our approach and what
- 0:36that means. So I spend my life talking about
- 0:39mindset and what mindset means to all of us.
- 0:42And really it boils down to one very important thing.
- 0:46How do you approach things? What is your core belief system
- 0:50that shows up when you are struggling, when you are happy?
- 0:55All of. Those good.
- 0:55Things. You know, there's an old saying
- 0:57that says when you squeeze something, you get out of it
- 1:01what it really is made out of. So if you squeeze a lemon, you
- 1:04get lemon juice out of it. And sometimes you've heard the
- 1:08phrase, I'm sure that when times get tough or things get
- 1:12irritating and you, that's the squeeze on the person.
- 1:16That's what you get out of it. But I don't necessarily believe
- 1:18it's quite like that. What I believe is it's a
- 1:22representation of if that person is having great things happen
- 1:28and they had that High Peak opportunity to show you who they
- 1:31are, that's what comes out. If there are low things
- 1:34happening and you squeeze them, so to speak, that's what comes
- 1:37out. It's always that high peaks,
- 1:41whether they're positive or negative, that puts people under
- 1:44pressure or puts them in emotionally high spots and they
- 1:50you squeeze it and that's what comes out.
- 1:52But ultimately what it all comes down to is one very simple and
- 1:55important. In fact, it is all about how you
- 1:58approach things. And none of us, including
- 2:01myself, are great in certain situations.
- 2:03Like, I know for a fact, and we were joking about it yesterday,
- 2:07there's no way. As much as I want to believe I
- 2:09could go on the show naked and afraid and be super successful
- 2:12with it, I could never do it in a million years.
- 2:16I we've had endless rain and yesterday our water company came
- 2:21out and decided to flush the systems out to be safe, but it
- 2:26turned all the water a yellowish color.
- 2:29And I about lose my mind when this happens.
- 2:31Like I'm, I was just like, Oh my gosh, no, we don't drink that
- 2:35water because I'm insane about water that I drink.
- 2:38And I just, I was losing it because my animals are drinking
- 2:42this like I use it for the farm. And I was just like, you've got
- 2:45to be kidding me. And the joke was, well, we know
- 2:49mom can never go on naked and afraid.
- 2:51And my husband was laughing. He's like, Nope, not, not your
- 2:54chance in hell that's ever happening because I have very
- 2:58when that shows up, my approach, the squeeze of that lemon is.
- 3:01To panic. No joke, I was like freaking out
- 3:04wanting to call. Them and.
- 3:05Find out what is going on. Of course they're going to say
- 3:08it's safe because that's what their job is, but I was so
- 3:13pushed and it got me to really thinking about.
- 3:16How? OK, here we are.
- 3:18What you're going to be approached to this?
- 3:20Where are? You going to stop what?
- 3:21What is going to be your approach right?
- 3:22Now are. You going to keep panicking
- 3:24about it or are you just going to run the water?
- 3:26Are you going to try to flush the systems yourself?
- 3:28What are you going to do? How are you going to do it?
- 3:30But that all comes back to that mindset in the moment and.
- 3:33I find it very funny and humorous, but no matter how much
- 3:37I know about this stuff, it still gets me.
- 3:39Now, does it get me for a very long time?
- 3:41No. I can pull myself back.
- 3:45You know, even just before coming out to do this, you're
- 3:47doing, I'm doing. Laundry.
- 3:49And of course this would happen when the sheets.
- 3:53Are there right? I've got to wash sheets, heavy
- 3:55sheets, and of course those sheets would be white and I just
- 3:58started laughing about it. When I pulled them out and saw
- 4:01that they had a tint to them. I was like.
- 4:03My certainty girl is. Freaking out.
- 4:06So re wash the sheets, dry them. If you have to, you'll wash.
- 4:10Them again because. The water.
- 4:12Will clear up and I have to drill into my own head this.
- 4:17Too shall. Pass.
- 4:18But that's part of the mindset, that's part of the approach,
- 4:21that's part of the perspective. It's.
- 4:23How you? Approach everything.
- 4:25What mindset am I going to go into this with?
- 4:28You know, after the storm and everything that's happened.
- 4:31So much water. Every every plant is.
- 4:34Beaten up. The garden is just.
- 4:36Toast and. The idea?
- 4:38The weeds are out. Of control.
- 4:40And the heat is so high you can't do anything about it.
- 4:43So is it a surrender? No.
- 4:45It's just a perspective of saying now is not the time.
- 4:48It will be the time soon, but now is not the time.
- 4:52So it's all about. Pulling yourself in and
- 4:55recognizing what am I doing with this information?
- 4:59Am I causing my own strife or am I actually stopping and saying,
- 5:03Nope, I'm going to change my approach, I'm going to look at
- 5:07this from a different way. What perspective am I going to
- 5:10hold right now? So it's just always a good
- 5:13reminder. And I was laughing when I was
- 5:14like, OK, ready to go out, ready to take care of this.
- 5:17And then I saw the sheets and I was like, I have to tell them
- 5:20this because it's even me. And is it driving me crazy
- 5:24somewhere on the back of the bus in my head?
- 5:26Sure is. But I don't let her drive.
- 5:28I just tell her thank you for sharing, put her in the back of
- 5:31the bus and carry on as a, you know, a Margaret Thatcher old
- 5:35quote, stiff upper lip, carry on.
- 5:37And that's. What?
- 5:38We're doing. So.
- 5:39I hope you have a blessed day my friends.
- 5:42I hope your water is clear and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:44Bye.
