- 0:41Speaker 3: Actually I don't speak frev, but I'm feeling it still dark.
- 0:45Speaker 4: No opposite.
- 0:47Speaker 3: This week has been insufferable, just across the board. That's
- 0:52Speaker 3: the big key to me. If Godshaw is not going
- 0:54Speaker 3: to play in this game, then my pick might change.
- 0:57Speaker 4: But most guys go. If Joe Barrow plays, I like
- 1:01Speaker 4: the Bengals. If he doesn't, I'm not sure.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Well that I mean, that's deep. I'm gonna invite you
- 1:10Speaker 3: to watch some film with me, and we can break
- 1:12Speaker 3: down the film together and let's see if your opinion
- 1:16Speaker 3: on him changes.
- 1:17Speaker 5: I don't know what this show would be without you
- 1:19Speaker 5: know you guys, and your relationship as kind of the anchor,
- 1:21Speaker 5: and you know, your silly fights that you get into
- 1:24Speaker 5: like step that up.
- 1:24Speaker 4: You know, we've we've stepped away from that a little
- 1:27Speaker 4: bit lately. If you noticed that.
- 1:28Speaker 1: You know, back in the day when I thought the
- 1:30Speaker 1: team was pretty good with Brady, you guys didn't. So
- 1:32Speaker 1: we bought Paul Foods here his eighteen inch or just arrived.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I'm not sure about your other emailer, bro, where do
- 1:39Speaker 1: we sign up to watch film with EVI?
- 1:41Speaker 3: Then where do I send a check?
- 1:42Speaker 4: And you not have to do that?
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yeah, this is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:45Speaker 6: Presented by Toyota's official website. For deals, buy a Toyota
- 1:49Speaker 6: dot com.
- 1:51Speaker 1: All right, it's Thursday. It is time to put the
- 1:57Speaker 1: hay in the barn. As they say, Patriots are getting
- 2:01Speaker 1: ready for the Jets. And of course they've got another
- 2:03Speaker 1: day of practice after today. But for us, this is it.
- 2:07Speaker 1: This is our last day before game day. So we'll
- 2:10Speaker 1: be doing our picks today. Final thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys,
- 2:16Speaker 1: everything else that's going on, you know, on around the team.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Mike, Mike, some breaking news right now, breaking this just in.
- 2:23Speaker 5: Christian Gonzalez has been named Rookie of the Month for September.
- 2:27Speaker 1: So wow.
- 2:28Speaker 4: And then Strouds is breaking news.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So maybe, like, you know, our praise of Christian Gonzalez
- 2:35Speaker 1: is actually true, Like it's not just us being I.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Mean we're pretty homes Yeah well we well yeah, speak
- 2:42Speaker 4: for yourself.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Did we get accused of being a homer for our
- 2:46Speaker 3: praise of Christian?
- 2:47Speaker 1: We get accused of being a homer for everything?
- 2:50Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe I'm used to that, but but I get
- 2:53Speaker 4: it both sides.
- 2:54Speaker 1: But I think the film people just don't white.
- 3:00Speaker 3: The will tells all you're you're welcome, and as your
- 3:05Speaker 3: campaign manager, you are welcome.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Not just player of the week, the month, player of
- 3:09Speaker 1: the month, the rookie, month of the month, rookie of
- 3:11Speaker 1: the month, whatever.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Well, you know that's not going to just stemantics.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, he's just really good. I just don't want
- 3:16Speaker 4: to mislead anybody.
- 3:17Speaker 5: Okay, it's nice, rookie of the month, it's really good.
- 3:19Speaker 5: They needed this, I mean, this is what they need
- 3:21Speaker 5: to get out of this hole.
- 3:22Speaker 4: This is what you need.
- 3:22Speaker 5: You need to draft talented guys in the first round
- 3:25Speaker 5: who come in make an immediate impact, are able to
- 3:27Speaker 5: not look out of place going against some of the
- 3:29Speaker 5: best receivers in the league. I still think, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 5: he's twenty one years old, so I mean he's still
- 3:33Speaker 5: got some growing to do physically, mentally, everything. So great
- 3:38Speaker 5: start and you know again this is this is it,
- 3:40Speaker 5: This is what you need. This has got to be
- 3:41Speaker 5: encouraging if you're a Pages fan, except for the guy
- 3:43Speaker 5: who called yesterday.
- 3:44Speaker 1: And to say, if you want more talent draft talented guys.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Yeah, and you know if you want more blank draft
- 3:50Speaker 5: more blank.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, he's He's the fifth Patriot to win this
- 3:54Speaker 3: award Mac wanted in his rookie year in twenty twenty one.
- 3:58Speaker 3: But between Mac and the next guy was Chandler Jones.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Although there was almost topical a decade. It's funny. I
- 4:05Speaker 3: didn't know that they.
- 4:06Speaker 4: I thought this was something new. So Chandler Jones won,
- 4:09Speaker 4: yes the month, Yes, the first.
- 4:11Speaker 3: So for the first Patriot to win, it was Dion
- 4:13Speaker 3: branch Back in two thousand and two.
- 4:16Speaker 5: This is like, but you didn't write something up for
- 4:18Speaker 5: that ball back in two two thousand and two.
- 4:19Speaker 4: No, yeah, no, but they, Shane must have.
- 4:23Speaker 3: They went a decade in between, and now they have
- 4:25Speaker 3: the quarterback and obviously we'll see but like the quarterback
- 4:29Speaker 3: and your number one corner are both winning this Award now,
- 4:33Speaker 3: and I think that that that is good news. Like
- 4:35Speaker 3: Deuce was saying, you really you had to draft better. Yeah,
- 4:38Speaker 3: you had to draft better. And Gonzo has clearly looked
- 4:42Speaker 3: like a hit so far. I mean, I don't know,
- 4:44Speaker 3: I'm not going to put a red jacket on him yet,
- 4:46Speaker 3: but he clearly looks like a hit.
- 4:47Speaker 5: We'll give a little tea seven because you talked to
- 4:49Speaker 5: him yesterday. And finally and Tyreek Hill comments.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so you know, Tyreek Hill had mentioned him
- 4:56Speaker 3: on his podcast after the Patriots played the Dolphins and said,
- 4:59Speaker 3: you know that that rookie in New England, you know,
- 5:01Speaker 3: pretty good player they got there, And so I asked
- 5:04Speaker 3: him about that, and uh, the best line from it was,
- 5:07Speaker 3: I'll see him later in the year. Loved that. Yeah,
- 5:10Speaker 3: so there was some some competitive fire there, but he
- 5:13Speaker 3: said he was happy that he got to match up
- 5:15Speaker 3: against Tyreek Hill, and you know that was sort of
- 5:17Speaker 3: what he was hoping for.
- 5:18Speaker 1: The only thing that's it's you know, mildly surprising, is
- 5:21Speaker 1: how quickly he's done well, Like, you know, I thought
- 5:24Speaker 1: he was going to be good, but like how quickly
- 5:26Speaker 1: he's you know, uh, matriculated into the NFL.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Yeah, Well, I think they've you know, they've they've developed
- 5:33Speaker 5: a lot of like you know, undrafted corner you know,
- 5:35Speaker 5: guys that but maybe not necessarily dripping with talent when
- 5:38Speaker 5: they come out of college and you know, develop them
- 5:40Speaker 5: into solid players.
- 5:41Speaker 4: And I think that's.
- 5:42Speaker 5: What's intriguing, is like, all right, here's a guy who's
- 5:44Speaker 5: dripping with talent. What can you guys do developing this guy.
- 5:48Speaker 4: It's a great start.
- 5:48Speaker 5: You know, it's a great start exactly what you need
- 5:50Speaker 5: in the league right now if you're going to compete
- 5:52Speaker 5: with those good teams. So you got to stack it now,
- 5:54Speaker 5: you got to stack guys on top of that. You
- 5:56Speaker 5: need key On White and Marty map Whu to kind
- 5:58Speaker 5: of start to come around a little bit, maybe start
- 5:59Speaker 5: to play more. If if equality is out, maybe that
- 6:02Speaker 5: is gonna let White do a little bit more.
- 6:04Speaker 4: So it's a good start, but gotta keep building on it. Fred,
- 6:09Speaker 4: you like to incorporate Mike's round table. Yeah, topics I
- 6:15Speaker 4: have a little beef with I didn't feel right about
- 6:17Speaker 4: them today. I felt like they were rush questions by
- 6:19Speaker 4: all means, I'm going to ignore my point. Give me,
- 6:22Speaker 4: give me some feedback.
- 6:23Speaker 1: We got to be glad you said that, because I
- 6:26Speaker 1: just felt the questions were a little stale.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, fair enough. Yeah, Yeah, I gotta.
- 6:32Speaker 1: You're getting into a little bit of a formula and
- 6:34Speaker 1: we got to.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Break the format. You're right, Fred, I take this criticism
- 6:37Speaker 4: and I'll be better. I'll do better. You got any
- 6:41Speaker 4: questions how bad is it going to be this week? No,
- 6:43Speaker 4: I was.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I was going to see this is what I mean.
- 6:46Speaker 4: I get called the Homer.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And the Patriots to not be the worst team in
- 6:50Speaker 1: the league.
- 6:52Speaker 3: So I don't think he worded it exactly like that.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Zales, just to the point of, like you said, how
- 6:59Speaker 4: quick he's sort of assimilated to the league and everything. Mike,
- 7:04Speaker 4: you had the question about the most important offense and defense,
- 7:07Speaker 4: and I would agree with Evan about the defense yesterday
- 7:10Speaker 4: in terms of they're gonna want to run, so you
- 7:12Speaker 4: got to stop the run. But I'm assuming that's going
- 7:14Speaker 4: to happen. And I think, again it's Gonzales with Cede Lamb. Yeah,
- 7:19Speaker 4: because that's where they want to make plays. So I
- 7:22Speaker 4: just think that speaks volumes that you just look at
- 7:24Speaker 4: a guy like that and say, well, you know, maybe
- 7:27Speaker 4: Jonathan Jones comes back but Jack Jones is out, Marcus
- 7:29Speaker 4: Jones is out, and I feel pretty good about the
- 7:32Speaker 4: fact that Gonzalez is back there, and you know, to
- 7:35Speaker 4: have Cedee Lamb, who I think is really good, it.
- 7:37Speaker 5: Almost makes you feel better about Jonathan Jones, right, Like,
- 7:39Speaker 5: you know, it's not like, oh, we need don Jonathan
- 7:41Speaker 5: Jones to do so much. It's like, no, I think
- 7:43Speaker 5: Gonzalez is what the ability that he's demonstrated so far,
- 7:47Speaker 5: just take some pressure off of Jonathan Jones having to
- 7:49Speaker 5: do everything, be that leader, making all the plays. Like
- 7:51Speaker 5: you know, it almost allows them to be a little
- 7:54Speaker 5: bit more flexible with him and you know, both guys. Really,
- 7:56Speaker 5: I think it just it gives them options and that's
- 7:58Speaker 5: that's a great thing to have for a defense that
- 8:00Speaker 5: game plan every week has to come up with something.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of Jonathan Jones, we'll get an attendance report
- 8:06Speaker 1: later on when Evan comes back from practice. But is
- 8:11Speaker 1: he gonna play this week?
- 8:12Speaker 4: Do you think I thought he was gonna play last week?
- 8:14Speaker 4: So I'm not the guy to ask. I don't know.
- 8:15Speaker 4: I got bad information from my source.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I think he's trending in the right direction, I guess
- 8:22Speaker 3: is the words I would use he would have been
- 8:24Speaker 3: on IR. You feel like if he was going to
- 8:26Speaker 3: miss more time, So I feel like that's a good
- 8:30Speaker 3: sign that they thought maybe it was a two or
- 8:32Speaker 3: three week injury, and we're coming on three weeks now,
- 8:34Speaker 3: so maybe. But I don't know. I think it's a
- 8:40Speaker 3: it's such a difficult thing to tell because well, they
- 8:43Speaker 3: usher us out of there in thirty seconds, but be
- 8:45Speaker 3: it's also just one of those like lingering maybe high
- 8:49Speaker 3: ankle sprains type of situations where you just don't really
- 8:52Speaker 3: know when it's gonna be good to go.
- 8:54Speaker 4: So I would say, though, like we don't know if
- 8:57Speaker 4: for sure, if it's the same injury that he missed
- 8:59Speaker 4: all the time within I'm going to assume it was.
- 9:02Speaker 4: You could that's a good second guest though, like maybe
- 9:05Speaker 4: he should have just opened the season on IR. You know.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Yeah. In terms of the Cowboys, I'm hearing that their
- 9:12Speaker 1: offensive line is beat up right.
- 9:14Speaker 4: I heard that could you hit that? On Tuesdays and
- 9:16Speaker 4: Wednesday shows when Evan and I were talking about it.
- 9:19Speaker 1: You know, I'm keeping my ears close to the ground,
- 9:21Speaker 1: it's what I'm hearing.
- 9:22Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I tug up, you know.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Stephen Jones one on the radio and said, you know,
- 9:26Speaker 5: thought possible maybe, but all three guys missed practice yesterday,
- 9:30Speaker 5: so it's it's it's an issue for them.
- 9:32Speaker 4: They all missed the last game.
- 9:34Speaker 3: They did and they still ran for bucks seventy five
- 9:37Speaker 3: or something like that against the Cardinals. But those the
- 9:40Speaker 3: Cardinals defensive front is nowhere near as good as the
- 9:43Speaker 3: Patriots defensive front. So if those three guys are out especially,
- 9:46Speaker 3: I would say Zach Martin in the center a badish.
- 9:50Speaker 3: That's big. That is big because I think you know
- 9:53Speaker 3: your guys in the middle there are are better than
- 9:55Speaker 3: what the Cardinals have, so you should be able to
- 9:58Speaker 3: take more advantage of that. That ish, I think it's beadish.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I don't know how to say. I'm not gonna lie.
- 10:04Speaker 3: All I know is is that all three of those guys,
- 10:06Speaker 3: if they change jerseys, might be starting here and they're
- 10:09Speaker 3: all and they're all hurt, so that that's that's a positive.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Zach Martin might be the best Hall of Famer in
- 10:15Speaker 4: the league.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm feeling pretty good. Field.
- 10:25Speaker 4: We got the top rookie in the a.
- 10:27Speaker 3: F C, got Mac j in the NFL. The whole
- 10:30Speaker 3: NFL deuce, not just the.
- 10:32Speaker 4: So the other the other rookie of the month was C. J. Stroud.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Yes, he's played well, I know. And if you had.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Told me after the first preseason game that he was
- 10:42Speaker 4: going to get get out of the gates really quickly,
- 10:44Speaker 4: I would have been like, yeah, that seems optimistic. He
- 10:47Speaker 4: looked like he was not really close to being ready.
- 10:51Speaker 4: It just shows you how meaningless those preseason snaps are
- 10:54Speaker 4: because he has played reasonably well. Now he's not. Listen,
- 10:57Speaker 4: he played three games. He's not there. You know, he's
- 11:01Speaker 4: got a long way to go, but he, you know,
- 11:03Speaker 4: reasonably well. He's played the first few games, hasn't thrown
- 11:07Speaker 4: a pick yet. You know, he's you know, doing a
- 11:09Speaker 4: decent child protecting the ball, completing like sixty five percent
- 11:13Speaker 4: of his passes.
- 11:14Speaker 3: And they've been okay, they've been competitive in their games.
- 11:16Speaker 4: The Texans.
- 11:17Speaker 5: You wonder how important it is for a rookie quarterback
- 11:19Speaker 5: just to get off to a good start.
- 11:20Speaker 3: You know, and just to not be overwhelmed out of
- 11:22Speaker 3: the gate.
- 11:23Speaker 5: And then it kind of snowballs on you kind of
- 11:25Speaker 5: what happened with Matt you know, like he was say coddled,
- 11:28Speaker 5: but you know was managed well early on in his
- 11:30Speaker 5: career and was able to have some initial success that
- 11:33Speaker 5: you know, maybe in some ways he's still trying to
- 11:34Speaker 5: get back to that that kind of level, but it's
- 11:37Speaker 5: just enabled it.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Like some of the other guys.
- 11:38Speaker 5: It's like poor Trey Lance, you know, or just In Fields,
- 11:41Speaker 5: who hasn't won a game since here.
- 11:42Speaker 4: You know, those kind of things, I feel like, just.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Derail your development and just make it even harder on
- 11:47Speaker 5: you than if you could just win an award like
- 11:49Speaker 5: this and you know, say, hey, I got some confidence
- 11:51Speaker 5: in myself. I think I could play in this league.
- 11:52Speaker 5: It's it's good for the Texans.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Did we have a transaction yesterday?
- 11:57Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 11:59Speaker 5: Many joy evn't said was that second year Yeah, second year.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Guy a little bit of action line. Yeah, but he's
- 12:05Speaker 4: definitely more of an equality than a godcho.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Yeah, he's only like ninety pounds small. Yeah, okay, but
- 12:12Speaker 3: I mean I hope, I mean he's practice squad guy.
- 12:14Speaker 4: I'd be surprised to see him. But as I said
- 12:16Speaker 4: at the top, I'd love to just see you.
- 12:18Speaker 5: Know, key On White get a little bit more you know, interior,
- 12:21Speaker 5: third down pass right, you know, just let's see him
- 12:23Speaker 5: and do something a little bit different. Instead of just
- 12:25Speaker 5: being our run stopping edge player, which is, you know,
- 12:27Speaker 5: kind of what his role was last.
- 12:28Speaker 4: And they still have a spot on the roster, right, Yes, yeah,
- 12:32Speaker 4: equality spot.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Paul, you brought up the roundtable US round table. Was
- 12:37Speaker 1: there a reason why, because I kind of hijacked that
- 12:40Speaker 1: you brought it up.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Did you have some of the common did you have something?
- 12:44Speaker 4: You have some constructive feedback for duces and I did.
- 12:48Speaker 4: I guess it didn't resonate what just to speak volumes
- 12:52Speaker 4: of Christian Gonzales, Like Mike said, do you have one
- 12:55Speaker 4: guy on defense and that's my guy. I think he's
- 12:58Speaker 4: gonna need to keep Cede Lamb under reps. Okay, I mean,
- 13:03Speaker 4: I'm not talking about shutting him down or anything like
- 13:05Speaker 4: no catches, but you don't want Ceedee Lamb.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Doing the overtime touchdown catch where he's waving the bye
- 13:11Speaker 5: bye to Mills, correct.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Yeah, And I think don't do that to Mills. I
- 13:14Speaker 4: think Gonzalez is probably going to be involved in that.
- 13:16Speaker 4: So I think he's a really important part.
- 13:18Speaker 1: And you think that's the key to the game.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Defense, key to the defense, because I don't think that.
- 13:22Speaker 4: I don't think the Cowboys are going to be able
- 13:23Speaker 4: to run it for like two hundred yards or anything
- 13:26Speaker 4: like they want to, so they're going to eventually have
- 13:27Speaker 4: to throw.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm interested to see how much attention they put
- 13:31Speaker 3: on Cedde Lamb the Patriots defense. I mean, because Brandon
- 13:35Speaker 3: Cooks really hasn't done anything, uh since he's gotten there.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Michael Gallup had a good week last week, but he's
- 13:40Speaker 3: more of like a jump ball guy that's going to
- 13:42Speaker 3: catch a few of those down the field maybe a game.
- 13:45Speaker 3: So do they do they double him? Do they put
- 13:47Speaker 3: safety help over the top. You know, as great as
- 13:49Speaker 3: Gonzo's been against Tyreek Hill, he had safety help over
- 13:52Speaker 3: the top pretty much every time he was on Hill,
- 13:55Speaker 3: which which is understandable. But in that matchup, does does
- 13:59Speaker 3: he get the same treatment or are they getting to
- 14:01Speaker 3: the point now three weeks in where they're like, we
- 14:03Speaker 3: don't even need to do that anymore. He can just
- 14:06Speaker 3: cover this guy. I'm interested to see as they grow,
- 14:09Speaker 3: because last week they put him out there against Garrett Wilson.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Granted it was Zack Wilson at quarterback, but they didn't
- 14:16Speaker 3: tilt the coverage, they didn't double them. They just said,
- 14:19Speaker 3: you got Garrett Wilson and he did find so well.
- 14:22Speaker 5: I was gonna say that, just like Mayo's comments from Tuesdays,
- 14:24Speaker 5: just talking about how much they move cdelmb around, So
- 14:26Speaker 5: he'll be, you know, just interesting in that regard. If
- 14:29Speaker 5: you are gonna put Gonzo on to follow him around,
- 14:31Speaker 5: put him in the slot, those kind of things.
- 14:32Speaker 1: When it comes to quarterbacks, where do you rank Dak Prescott?
- 14:37Speaker 1: Is he in your top ten?
- 14:39Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 14:40Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, top ten?
- 14:41Speaker 4: I would say he's right on that fringe. Yeah, top third. Anyway,
- 14:45Speaker 4: It's hard though.
- 14:45Speaker 5: I mean, I'm always biased to what they do against
- 14:48Speaker 5: the Patriots, and so obviously I still have memories of
- 14:50Speaker 5: two years ago in my mind. But I feel like
- 14:51Speaker 5: there's not a lot of quarterbacks that I'm so like
- 14:54Speaker 5: up and down on where one week he looks like
- 14:56Speaker 5: he looked here and you know, throws for four and
- 14:58Speaker 5: fifty yards and just looks like he can do no wrong,
- 15:00Speaker 5: and then other weeks it just doesn't look as good.
- 15:02Speaker 5: So I don't know, I haven't watched a ton of
- 15:04Speaker 5: his games to think, but it seems to me like
- 15:06Speaker 5: he's a little up and down at times. But I
- 15:09Speaker 5: would still rank him top ten, really good player. I
- 15:11Speaker 5: just I don't know what the disconnect, what's keeping him
- 15:13Speaker 5: from getting into that you know, upper echelon cut group.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Yeah, playoff success.
- 15:18Speaker 3: I'm a big Dak guy.
- 15:20Speaker 4: I like Dak.
- 15:20Speaker 1: You like Dak?
- 15:21Speaker 3: Top ten definitely?
- 15:23Speaker 4: Yeah, He's that little exercise that I did yesterday about
- 15:26Speaker 4: all the you know where you have to get them.
- 15:28Speaker 3: He was in my top ten. Really good processor, like
- 15:31Speaker 3: a really underrated field reader, processing speed like all that
- 15:35Speaker 3: kind of stuff, and accurate quarterback. I think Dak's really good.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:40Speaker 4: I think the injury six.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Through ten, though not top five, six through ten.
- 15:45Speaker 4: I think that injury that he suffered a couple of
- 15:46Speaker 4: years ago really took some of his running away, yeah,
- 15:49Speaker 4: which I think was a big part of his game. So,
- 15:51Speaker 4: I mean I think he's still pretty good.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah, So how do you handle him? Do you keep
- 16:01Speaker 1: him in the pocket, make him get out of the pocket.
- 16:03Speaker 1: What's what's the game plan?
- 16:05Speaker 5: I mean, I think, like Paul kind of said, I
- 16:07Speaker 5: think it starts with the run, just to you know,
- 16:09Speaker 5: I mean, I think it's just a general I don't
- 16:10Speaker 5: think it's a specific quarterback thing.
- 16:12Speaker 1: You know.
- 16:12Speaker 5: It's just one of these where you have to be
- 16:14Speaker 5: on your p's and q's on all three downs and
- 16:16Speaker 5: you have to you know, get those early first down,
- 16:18Speaker 5: second down stops, get to third and you know, manageable
- 16:21Speaker 5: and long and get them off a time.
- 16:23Speaker 4: I mean, I think it's it's kind of your traditional football.
- 16:26Speaker 5: It's not a Lamar Jackson, we got to do this
- 16:28Speaker 5: or you know those kind of things.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Yeah, agreed, Yeah, it's a They're a traditional offense. They're
- 16:34Speaker 3: an old school under center, run the football type of offense.
- 16:37Speaker 3: They want to play smash mouth football and stay ahead
- 16:40Speaker 3: of the chains and possess the ball. I think they've
- 16:42Speaker 3: run the most plays per game in the NFL, like
- 16:45Speaker 3: well over seventy plays a game, So they want to
- 16:48Speaker 3: possess it. They want to run it. And if you're
- 16:51Speaker 3: the Patriots, I think that's number one on the list
- 16:53Speaker 3: is stopping the run.
- 16:54Speaker 4: In the first two games.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Fred.
- 16:55Speaker 4: It's the poster child for the offense. What I say, like, yeah, great,
- 17:00Speaker 4: you could do that. You're not going to score because
- 17:02Speaker 4: all the numbers would tell you exactly what Evan just said.
- 17:04Speaker 4: They possessed the ball, they rack up you know, tons
- 17:08Speaker 4: of yards and then they get in the red zone.
- 17:11Speaker 4: The last two weeks and there's something like two for
- 17:13Speaker 4: ten in red zone opportunities, you know, something like that.
- 17:17Speaker 4: And at the end of the day, offense and I
- 17:20Speaker 4: know that you can be deceived because they won forty
- 17:22Speaker 4: to nothing in thirty to ten. The offense was not
- 17:25Speaker 4: responsible for a good chunk of those seventy points they
- 17:27Speaker 4: scored last week, the sixteen. That's about what they've done. Yeah,
- 17:32Speaker 4: without getting set up by the defense, which in the
- 17:35Speaker 4: first two games they created a bunch of turnovers and
- 17:38Speaker 4: either directly led to points or short fields. So you
- 17:41Speaker 4: can do that. You can run the ball and be
- 17:43Speaker 4: successful running the ball. You got a score, yeah, and
- 17:46Speaker 4: they haven't.
- 17:47Speaker 3: They're twenty seventh in red zone percentage right now. They've
- 17:50Speaker 3: kicked the league high ten field goals.
- 17:52Speaker 4: There's ten for ten, So they kicked a bunch.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Of field goals and they're team that is just ground
- 17:58Speaker 3: and pound. And the coaches said it. He said that
- 18:00Speaker 3: he wants to possess the ball, rest his defense run
- 18:03Speaker 3: the ball. And you know that's why they let Kellen
- 18:07Speaker 3: morgo was because Kellen Moore too many points. Seriously, he
- 18:11Speaker 3: said that Kellen Moore wanted to light up the scoreboard.
- 18:14Speaker 3: I don't I don't want to play that way. I
- 18:16Speaker 3: want to I want to play old school football weird.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Yeah, like, what's wrong with scoring points?
- 18:22Speaker 3: This is this is why I've been on the Patriot's
- 18:27Speaker 3: gotta be.
- 18:28Speaker 4: I think I think he looked at him as a threat. Maybe.
- 18:31Speaker 4: I think you know, in Dallas, inherently you're always on
- 18:34Speaker 4: the hot seat, right, Yeah, so I think he looked
- 18:36Speaker 4: at him as like, they're gonna get rid of me
- 18:38Speaker 4: and they're just going to give it to this guy.
- 18:40Speaker 5: Any thoughts on their running back group and those kind
- 18:42Speaker 5: of smaller, quicker types that I don't know's I'd rather
- 18:46Speaker 5: not see those guys. Yeah, that's I mean, I don't
- 18:48Speaker 5: know why. I guess still memories like Miles Sanders and
- 18:50Speaker 5: you know, guys who had some success against the Patriots.
- 18:52Speaker 5: I don't know if that's like a schematic thing really,
- 18:54Speaker 5: but those little ones always kind of frighten me a
- 18:57Speaker 5: little bit.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Back in the day, it was always the powerbacks that
- 18:59Speaker 4: the Patriots shut down. Yeah, and the shift the physical
- 19:03Speaker 4: gave him a little bit more trouble, especially if you
- 19:05Speaker 4: threw the ball to them. Yeah, this is more of
- 19:08Speaker 4: a power running attack though, like's been talking about all week,
- 19:11Speaker 4: but with little guys running it.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Tony Pollard is explod Oh he's good player.
- 19:16Speaker 3: He's kind of like maybe were he Moster, you know
- 19:20Speaker 3: where like if you let him like Moster did in
- 19:23Speaker 3: that game, you let him get loose, it's going to
- 19:25Speaker 3: be a forty yard touchdown. So you have to keep
- 19:28Speaker 3: you know, all three levels have to be on their
- 19:30Speaker 3: pi's and ques to make this this run game stop
- 19:34Speaker 3: this run game. But I just am so just disappointed
- 19:39Speaker 3: as a DAK fan for like their passing game. It's
- 19:42Speaker 3: just so rudimentary and like there's not a whole lot
- 19:45Speaker 3: down the field. He's only thrown eight passes deep down
- 19:48Speaker 3: the field so far this year, and all of them
- 19:50Speaker 3: are just like, you know, fifty to fifty balls to
- 19:52Speaker 3: ceedee lamb, where he's just hoping the guy's going to
- 19:54Speaker 3: make a play on it. It's not schemed. It's not
- 19:57Speaker 3: creative in terms of that part of it. Like, you know,
- 20:01Speaker 3: McCarthy got a lot of criticism towards the end of
- 20:03Speaker 3: his Packers tenure for being watered down offensively, and everybody said, oh,
- 20:08Speaker 3: he ran slant five like twenty times a game and
- 20:10Speaker 3: like stuff, And here he is again just doing the
- 20:13Speaker 3: same thing.
- 20:13Speaker 4: So do you think that there's any chance that those
- 20:16Speaker 4: numbers are a little bit skewed by the games the
- 20:19Speaker 4: first the first two games in particular, I mean the
- 20:21Speaker 4: first game. I mean yeah, I mean we got home
- 20:24Speaker 4: after our postgame show, I put the second half on.
- 20:28Speaker 4: They didn't even he didn't even like, first of all,
- 20:30Speaker 4: he didn't play in the fourth quarter, and he didn't
- 20:32Speaker 4: really even throw the ball in the third quarter, like
- 20:34Speaker 4: the game was over.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 4: I just wonder if maybe that's why some of the
- 20:38Speaker 4: numbers are it could be.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I just thought that that's what it
- 20:41Speaker 3: was against the Cardinals too. Like I I watched, you know,
- 20:45Speaker 3: the Jets game the week before, because I was watching
- 20:47Speaker 3: the Jets, and I remember that that was their game plan,
- 20:50Speaker 3: and I was thinking, okay, well, Jets defense, that's what
- 20:53Speaker 3: the Jets defense gives you, right, Like you're not going
- 20:55Speaker 3: to take big shots. Yeah, you're not going to take
- 20:58Speaker 3: shots down the field against this Jets defense. That's a
- 21:00Speaker 3: recipe for disaster. And then they did the same thing
- 21:03Speaker 3: against the Cardinals, like they didn't even change it. Against
- 21:06Speaker 3: the Cardinals. You have a much weaker defense, And I
- 21:08Speaker 3: was just like, this is just them like they're just
- 21:10Speaker 3: a underneath you know, quick game rpo like that, that's
- 21:15Speaker 3: how they throw the ball.
- 21:16Speaker 5: It's weird in some aspects and not not all like
- 21:19Speaker 5: like you're talking a little bit about their offense, but
- 21:21Speaker 5: like they have that number one receiver, they have we
- 21:23Speaker 5: all bit, a top ten quarterback. These are all the
- 21:26Speaker 5: things that Patriot fans are clamoring for, like what we
- 21:28Speaker 5: wouldn't give to have a CD Lamb And yet their
- 21:30Speaker 5: coordinator and their attack is kind of got the.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Now you understand where I've been coming from.
- 21:35Speaker 4: I mean it's some way.
- 21:36Speaker 5: I mean I realized that both offenses are similarly unproductive
- 21:40Speaker 5: as far as points on the scoreboard, but they kind
- 21:42Speaker 5: of get their different routes. And you know, I think
- 21:44Speaker 5: it's almost if you could mesh like some of Dallas's
- 21:46Speaker 5: talent with some of New England's scheme, you might actually
- 21:49Speaker 5: have really have something. But it's just an interesting kind
- 21:51Speaker 5: of And Bill yesterday talking about all the talent that
- 21:53Speaker 5: Dallas always has on the roster.
- 21:55Speaker 8: And you know all those things that we tell they
- 21:57Speaker 8: took an offense that has a top five offensive line,
- 22:00Speaker 8: a top ten quarterback, and an elite receiver and said
- 22:04Speaker 8: We're going to run a high school offense and put
- 22:06Speaker 8: him under center and just run the ball.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Yeah, which cool, like if you're the Patriots, like, let's
- 22:11Speaker 3: play that kind of game, you know, let's run at
- 22:14Speaker 3: Jawan Bentley and Devon Godshaw and let's see what happens.
- 22:17Speaker 3: You know, like that. I take my chances all day
- 22:19Speaker 3: with that.
- 22:20Speaker 1: It's it's weird. I don't understand it. I you know,
- 22:24Speaker 1: like either there's gotta be something else going on, like
- 22:27Speaker 1: maybe they don't think Dak is as good as we do.
- 22:30Speaker 5: Well and if it plays out like Evan's laying out
- 22:33Speaker 5: like you think, they really have to like question themselves
- 22:35Speaker 5: because this is if it is that way, and that's
- 22:37Speaker 5: how they come out and do it. This is what
- 22:38Speaker 5: the Patriots do. Like it's running right into the teeth
- 22:41Speaker 5: of what the page how the Patriots want to play.
- 22:43Speaker 4: So I don't know, I'm very interested to see. He
- 22:46Speaker 4: did throw some picks last year. He did, so maybe
- 22:49Speaker 4: you know, for all the lighting of the school board,
- 22:52Speaker 4: then bad, bad, bad, you know, maybe they kicks.
- 22:56Speaker 3: That was one thing that Dak has openly talked about,
- 23:00Speaker 3: is throwing turn the ball over less, and maybe that
- 23:03Speaker 3: was part of it. And I think, you know, like
- 23:05Speaker 3: Paul said earlier, they don't really want to use Dak
- 23:08Speaker 3: as a runner. You know, he'll scramble some and every
- 23:10Speaker 3: once in a while situationally they'll use him on like
- 23:12Speaker 3: a zone read concept or something like that, but they
- 23:15Speaker 3: haven't been as gun heavy because they don't really want
- 23:17Speaker 3: Dak as a part of the running game. So this
- 23:20Speaker 3: has now become a traditional running game versus like what
- 23:23Speaker 3: you would face with old Dak where they have the
- 23:25Speaker 3: two headed monster and they're kind of exchanging carries. They
- 23:28Speaker 3: don't really do that anymore because they want to protect
- 23:30Speaker 3: the quarterback. So I don't know. They could completely come
- 23:35Speaker 3: out and surprise me and throw the ball forty times
- 23:37Speaker 3: and it'd be a completely different game plan, which is
- 23:39Speaker 3: what I would do if I was them, because if
- 23:42Speaker 3: you can get to twenty five points against the Patriots,
- 23:44Speaker 3: we know what the outcome is going to be. But
- 23:48Speaker 3: if you want to run the ball and the Patriots
- 23:50Speaker 3: want to run the ball, and all of a sudden
- 23:51Speaker 3: it's this game where only eight drives per team and
- 23:55Speaker 3: each team is running a bunch of plays, then it's
- 23:58Speaker 3: going to be twenty seventeen. If I'm the Patriots. I'm
- 24:01Speaker 3: gladly taking that.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Okay, eight five to five Pats five hundred is these
- 24:06Speaker 1: taken hotline web radio at Patriots dot com. It's the
- 24:09Speaker 1: email address. We've got picks today, So we've got a hurry.
- 24:13Speaker 4: We're already behind.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Yeah, let's see what fans have to say. We'll get
- 24:16Speaker 1: them in now. Matthews in New Mexico. What's up, Matthew?
- 24:21Speaker 9: How's it going, guys? Beginning of the show, Like, Mike's
- 24:24Speaker 9: exactly right, we should be through the roof pumps that
- 24:27Speaker 9: we actually hit on a first round.
- 24:29Speaker 10: Pick, and Evan is right from yesterday.
- 24:32Speaker 9: If we have any grives with Bill, it should be
- 24:34Speaker 9: the day two pig. Like I almost wrecked when you
- 24:38Speaker 9: guys said they only played ten snaps yesterday. But right
- 24:44Speaker 9: now the good feeling about the Cowboys, I don't know.
- 24:47Speaker 9: I kind of have a feeling that Micah and the
- 24:50Speaker 9: defense there's gonna be too much. What would you like,
- 24:53Speaker 9: what is the plan to stop Micah?
- 24:56Speaker 11: And would you guys.
- 24:56Speaker 9: Put Micah above like t j Wy and Aaron Donald
- 25:00Speaker 9: and last thing we were talking about, like the wide
- 25:04Speaker 9: receivers and the drafts. So I guess this wants for Evans.
- 25:07Speaker 9: What would be better for Max Jones, like a guy
- 25:09Speaker 9: like a number one receiver, whoever it is, or a
- 25:12Speaker 9: guy like Rock Powers. All right, thank you guys, appreciate it.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a good question. I mean, Brock Bowers is
- 25:19Speaker 3: going to be a top ten pick. Is a tight
- 25:20Speaker 3: end from Georgia that's outstanding, So he's going to be
- 25:24Speaker 3: a top ten pick. So I don't know if we
- 25:27Speaker 3: want to be taking Rock Powers, especially if you're if
- 25:30Speaker 3: you're picking in the top ten, you're the Patriots, You're
- 25:32Speaker 3: you're probably thinking quarterback, like you're not really thinking necessarily
- 25:36Speaker 3: a tight end. But I don't know. I think that
- 25:41Speaker 3: the number one receiver thing is like always to me, like,
- 25:44Speaker 3: well who is it? Right, Like, you know, is it
- 25:46Speaker 3: Marvin Harrison Junior? Or is it you know, one of
- 25:48Speaker 3: these other guys that I've seen some buzz about. But
- 25:51Speaker 3: I'm not like totally sold on yet. So we'll see
- 25:53Speaker 3: what ends up happening. I mean that's my that's my
- 25:55Speaker 3: half baked opinion on that because I haven't done a Dutch.
- 25:59Speaker 4: Time idea a guy like Bowers.
- 26:01Speaker 1: But you know, tight end quarter best friend.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Well, plus you have two tight ends that are in
- 26:06Speaker 4: the last year of their deals.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, what about his question about, you know, game
- 26:12Speaker 1: planning against Michael Parsons block them find out?
- 26:18Speaker 4: No, I mean I I would.
- 26:19Speaker 5: I mean, I mean, I just think he's he seems
- 26:22Speaker 5: special to me. I mean, I Aaron Donald's a different player,
- 26:25Speaker 5: but I see it in that role where to me,
- 26:27Speaker 5: when you watch Aaron Donald, it just jumps out how
- 26:30Speaker 5: good he is and how strong and you know, dominant
- 26:32Speaker 5: and you know, no.
- 26:33Speaker 4: Disrespect to the Bosas or TJ. Water or anything.
- 26:36Speaker 5: But Michael Parsons stands out to me as just so active,
- 26:40Speaker 5: so quick. I mean, it jumps off the field to
- 26:42Speaker 5: me when I see it.
- 26:43Speaker 1: I mean, if the Cardinals hadn't already done it, I'd say,
- 26:45Speaker 1: you know, exploit his over aggressiveness like they did, run
- 26:50Speaker 1: right at him and let him get past the screens
- 26:52Speaker 1: all that. But I think Evan's right. I think they're
- 26:54Speaker 1: going to overcorrect this week, and you know, so it's
- 26:58Speaker 1: gonna be like it always is, going to be a
- 27:00Speaker 1: you know, I know that, you know that I know
- 27:03Speaker 1: that you know that kind of chess match between the
- 27:05Speaker 1: two teams.
- 27:06Speaker 3: I think this is gonna be. I've been trying to
- 27:10Speaker 3: think about it because I truly think that Michael Parsons
- 27:12Speaker 3: is one of those rare talents that they might have
- 27:15Speaker 3: something really unique up their sleeve for him like that,
- 27:19Speaker 3: like not just a traditional game plan where they have
- 27:22Speaker 3: something really really unique, like maybe Pharaoh Brown like shadows
- 27:27Speaker 3: him and whatever side of the line of scrimmage Pharaoh
- 27:29Speaker 3: Brown follows him. They I've seen teams do that against
- 27:32Speaker 3: Miles Garrett a little bit, like really really like the
- 27:35Speaker 3: two guys are going back and forth. Yeah, like really
- 27:38Speaker 3: really outside the box. I think it was last year
- 27:41Speaker 3: Trent Brown said that he wants to shadow pass rushers
- 27:45Speaker 3: like corners shadow receivers, so he wants to be flip side.
- 27:52Speaker 4: I never heard that with and I've never seen a
- 27:55Speaker 4: team do that, which would be means it's right up Belichick, right,
- 27:58Speaker 4: And they've never known to me the way, do you
- 28:00Speaker 4: see what?
- 28:00Speaker 1: You're just asking for penalties when it comes to formation
- 28:04Speaker 1: and false starts if you do something like that.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Yeah, but doesn't I mean, isn't the offense is at
- 28:08Speaker 5: a disadvantage though, because they have to get set before
- 28:10Speaker 5: the defense.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Yes, So that's what happened with Miles Garrett. Is Miles
- 28:13Speaker 3: Gary caused a delay a game because he just kept
- 28:16Speaker 3: going back and forth in the tight end then and
- 28:19Speaker 3: then and then he would go and then so they
- 28:21Speaker 3: ended up getting called for delay a game. But Trent
- 28:23Speaker 3: Brown had said that, and it always stuck with me,
- 28:25Speaker 3: like that would be interesting, right, Like that would be cool.
- 28:29Speaker 3: And you have this no offense to Vederian Low, but
- 28:32Speaker 3: Vaderian Low cannot block Micah Parsons, and Trent Brown, I
- 28:35Speaker 3: think can block Micah Parsons. And so I wonder, like
- 28:39Speaker 3: I wonder if, if, how, how much would that be
- 28:42Speaker 3: a possibility. And but like you know, traditionally, you know,
- 28:47Speaker 3: tight end staying in chips from the running backs, like
- 28:50Speaker 3: all that stuff has to be on the table this week.
- 28:52Speaker 5: You think that'd be like another contract negotiation. Well, you
- 28:55Speaker 5: played me a left tag, you gave me too million. No,
- 28:56Speaker 5: I'm playing both sides, so I think I need it
- 28:58Speaker 5: in the same time I need Yeah, that would.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Be interesting to see something like that happen. I hadn't
- 29:05Speaker 4: I don't remember hearing that Trent Brown comic. That's really
- 29:08Speaker 4: interesting in the past. These are the kinds of things
- 29:13Speaker 4: that the game plan would would sort of neutralize. Is
- 29:16Speaker 4: that that one special player I think This is a
- 29:19Speaker 4: different kind of player though. I don't think this is
- 29:20Speaker 4: a traditional just defensive lineman. I think he plays enough
- 29:24Speaker 4: linebacker and he moves around enough that I think you'll
- 29:28Speaker 4: notice him on Sunday. I'm not telling you he's going
- 29:30Speaker 4: to control the game, because I'd be surprised if Belichick
- 29:32Speaker 4: lets that happen. Yeah, but I think I think you'll
- 29:37Speaker 4: notice him more than say like JJ Watt in some
- 29:39Speaker 4: of those games. He's more of a power It's the
- 29:42Speaker 4: same thing. He's just there every time. They're just kind
- 29:44Speaker 4: of stonealling him impact you know what he's doing, and
- 29:47Speaker 4: they're going to put extra bodies on him.
- 29:49Speaker 5: It's just third and long, and I mean you got
- 29:51Speaker 5: to imagine that they're going to have a big target
- 29:53Speaker 5: on Vederian Lowe, you know when they can and try
- 29:55Speaker 5: to get him matched up over there, and I mean
- 29:57Speaker 5: he's going to need help. Farrell Brown's a great.
- 30:00Speaker 3: That's just why. To me, It's it's not even about
- 30:03Speaker 3: like who's the blocking. This is like a coaching staff situation,
- 30:07Speaker 3: like the coaches have to have a plan for.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Mitaniel Hackett and be surprised after It's like.
- 30:13Speaker 3: You kind of cut me off golf.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Yeah, like you you can't believe an NFL coach said that,
- 30:17Speaker 4: I really can't.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Like you can't just say to Vedarien Lowe like just
- 30:21Speaker 3: just blocking it this week? You got it right, Like
- 30:25Speaker 3: you got to have some real things up your sleeve
- 30:28Speaker 3: to be able to handle a guy like that.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Mike's in Connecticut. What's up, Mike?
- 30:33Speaker 12: How you guys doing. You know, a lot of people
- 30:36Speaker 12: complain about negativity, and I don't want to be negative.
- 30:40Speaker 12: But this team is four and seventeen versus playoff team
- 30:44Speaker 12: since twenty twenty, and all four of those wins have
- 30:47Speaker 12: like huge asterisks next to them, Like beating the Jets
- 30:51Speaker 12: with Dak Wilson does nothing. We've seen it the last
- 30:54Speaker 12: like four years. It doesn't get you more playoff wins.
- 30:56Speaker 12: It doesn't really help you. You got to go win
- 30:59Speaker 12: the games again the good teams, and they just haven't
- 31:01Speaker 12: done it.
- 31:02Speaker 4: Yep, you're right, that's I mean. And that's and this
- 31:05Speaker 4: is shaping up as one that could be a win
- 31:07Speaker 4: without an asterisk. Yeah, because you know, the weather's not
- 31:09Speaker 4: going to be involved and as far as we know
- 31:11Speaker 4: what Dak Prescott is going to play, so you know.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Paul is still there's two more days of presice right
- 31:18Speaker 3: as far as.
- 31:18Speaker 4: We know, Just so you know, when did Jaln Phillips
- 31:21Speaker 4: get hurt and miss the game Friday before the game,
- 31:26Speaker 4: So let's not let's not pretended it's out of the
- 31:28Speaker 4: realm of possibility.
- 31:29Speaker 3: But like, I don't want that to happen now, because
- 31:31Speaker 3: I want I want them to beat a team.
- 31:34Speaker 4: He just said it perfectly the email like that, I mean,
- 31:37Speaker 4: the call, the yeah is it, Mike, all.
- 31:40Speaker 13: The excuses, you know, we don't need.
- 31:42Speaker 12: I don't want to beat these teams because Josh Allen's
- 31:45Speaker 12: I want to beat Josh Allen, Like that's what I
- 31:47Speaker 12: want to do.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Ye, Now, You're totally right.
- 31:50Speaker 1: In order to get a read on the team, that's
- 31:52Speaker 1: what you need to have happened, you know.
- 31:53Speaker 5: Yeah, that's why when I was joking, surprise me, I mean,
- 31:56Speaker 5: everything might just laid out.
- 31:57Speaker 3: I'm like, that's the script right now, surprise me.
- 32:00Speaker 4: You know, break that script. Beat it, beat a good
- 32:02Speaker 4: team on the road that you're you know that you
- 32:04Speaker 4: I mean, I know it sounds silly, but one of
- 32:06Speaker 4: the things that I'm like really like starting to get like,
- 32:11Speaker 4: is could this season be different? Kind of vibes It's
- 32:14Speaker 4: like I'm watching highlights of the Raiders and you know,
- 32:17Speaker 4: garoppolos and concussion protocol, Derek Carr is dealing with the
- 32:19Speaker 4: shoulder injury. These are your next two opponents. Yeah, like,
- 32:22Speaker 4: these are the things that happen for the Patriots when
- 32:24Speaker 4: they have a good season, you know, things elsewhere sort
- 32:27Speaker 4: of fall into place. And now there's a chance that
- 32:30Speaker 4: three out of your first six opponents will be playing
- 32:32Speaker 4: their backup quarterback.
- 32:33Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, And I mean and those but you know,
- 32:35Speaker 5: those are the games that, like, as you call them, Paul,
- 32:37Speaker 5: those are the coin flip games, you know, and like.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Like you're less coin flippy if the backup right back.
- 32:41Speaker 4: And that's a good sign.
- 32:42Speaker 5: But it's still gonna come down to can you beat
- 32:44Speaker 5: Buffalo one or two times? Can you you know, beat
- 32:46Speaker 5: Miami next time you see them. You're gonna give Kansas
- 32:49Speaker 5: City a game. I mean, you know, there's a lot
- 32:50Speaker 5: of good teams too on it that haven't been banged up.
- 32:53Speaker 4: I mean, we'll see where that.
- 32:54Speaker 3: But that's what makes this game so much so important
- 32:57Speaker 3: to me is because if you can win this one
- 32:59Speaker 3: and then you can really get some momentum by playing
- 33:01Speaker 3: some lesser teams over the next two weeks. Like, even
- 33:04Speaker 3: if it's Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo, I still think
- 33:06Speaker 3: those are winnable games and Raiders so especially given their health.
- 33:11Speaker 3: I mean, you could be talking about winning four straight
- 33:13Speaker 3: going into the Buffalo game, which is a much different
- 33:17Speaker 3: conversation than what we've been having.
- 33:18Speaker 4: Yeah, who's negative now?
- 33:20Speaker 1: Right?
- 33:22Speaker 4: Four in a row.
- 33:23Speaker 3: I've already put them at four and two.
- 33:25Speaker 4: And one and two, and we have an AFC showdown
- 33:27Speaker 4: at four and two Buffalo.
- 33:28Speaker 3: And against Miami the following week and win both of
- 33:32Speaker 3: those two?
- 33:33Speaker 4: Where am I with?
- 33:33Speaker 14: You?
- 33:33Speaker 4: Guys are way too positive people?
- 33:35Speaker 1: Those are the bert On Burton Island says, Paul is
- 33:39Speaker 1: a mind like a steel trap when it comes to football,
- 33:42Speaker 1: but he can also be pretty weird sometimes.
- 33:44Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Did you notice that he will not say Pop Douglas.
- 33:47Speaker 1: It's always the Mario I think on the Post Game
- 33:50Speaker 1: Show he said something about how he won't call a
- 33:52Speaker 1: grown man by Anti that.
- 33:54Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Question for Paul, do you always say Irvin Johnson? You
- 33:59Speaker 1: will always call the host of the post game show? Rob?
- 34:02Speaker 1: My theory is that there is.
- 34:04Speaker 4: No but I know in terms of magic, Yeah, you're right,
- 34:08Speaker 4: that's a that's a flower in my theory. But I
- 34:10Speaker 4: don't I'm not a huge nickname guy. I'm not gonna lie.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Like I first came into like with Magic Johnson, I
- 34:19Speaker 4: didn't know him as Irving. I know him as Magic
- 34:21Speaker 4: when I was a kid.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Well, that is technically a nickname, but that's what But
- 34:25Speaker 3: it's on his name plate as Mac Joe.
- 34:28Speaker 4: But that's ma's different too, because Mac is like if
- 34:31Speaker 4: you call someone named William Bill right, like that's short
- 34:35Speaker 4: short of his name, you know what I mean. Like,
- 34:38Speaker 4: but he's right. I would call Magic Johnson magic, you know,
- 34:41Speaker 4: but like you never heard me call Calvin Johnson Megatron,
- 34:45Speaker 4: like like I don't know, it's probably just a quirky thing.
- 34:48Speaker 4: He's right, I'm weird. Sometimes he's right. Gronk good good email. Yeah,
- 34:53Speaker 4: I called gron gronk absolutely, Rob.
- 34:56Speaker 3: We get this. We get that critique a lot because
- 34:58Speaker 3: I call guy like I'll call Guy Zogonzo or I
- 35:01Speaker 3: don't know if I do pop, but like I just
- 35:03Speaker 3: do it because it's easier to say, Like it's not
- 35:05Speaker 3: it's not so much about like I think I'm best
- 35:07Speaker 3: friends with the guy. Well that's kind of just rolls
- 35:09Speaker 3: off the tongue.
- 35:10Speaker 4: And that's kind of in my head, is like, I
- 35:11Speaker 4: don't really, I'm like, I'm not friends with these guys,
- 35:13Speaker 4: don't I'm not casual with them. I don't, you know,
- 35:15Speaker 4: I've been like, have I ever called Devin mccordy dev? Yeah,
- 35:18Speaker 4: of course I have, you know, but I don't know.
- 35:22Speaker 4: It's He's right, it's kind of a weird quirk for me.
- 35:24Speaker 4: I would say, the more of a me thing.
- 35:26Speaker 5: I would say to Mario Pop Douglas one of the
- 35:29Speaker 5: most friendly people in the locker room, just for smile
- 35:31Speaker 5: and how you doing to everybody that's in there, you know,
- 35:34Speaker 5: people going up and just chatting them up a little bit,
- 35:36Speaker 5: you know, not like scrum style, but just always has
- 35:38Speaker 5: a smile, always interested to talk to anybody.
- 35:41Speaker 4: He seems like a really good kid.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I know he walks by the media and
- 35:46Speaker 3: that's high fives, like handshakes. What's going on, hugs.
- 35:50Speaker 4: One of the four guys in the locker room. Yeah sometimes.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Yeah. I also, you know, learned some stuff from him
- 35:55Speaker 3: yesterday that I learned.
- 35:56Speaker 4: Just something I'm going to keep to myself.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, El from Wisconsin. I'm someone that has been
- 36:00Speaker 1: super harsh on Bill the GM. But I'm not so
- 36:03Speaker 1: blinded that I can't admit when he nails one, Ganza
- 36:06Speaker 1: was a player. I can't wait to see how he develops.
- 36:08Speaker 1: My question is, what round pick do you think the
- 36:10Speaker 1: Patriots will get when they trade him in three?
- 36:14Speaker 3: That's that's cruel.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I just like, that's really nice.
- 36:17Speaker 13: This.
- 36:17Speaker 4: I'll open myself up for the negativity. This is like
- 36:21Speaker 4: one of the things that annoys me about young players
- 36:23Speaker 4: is the declaration like three games, that's it. He nailed
- 36:28Speaker 4: this one. I love the pick. I love the pick
- 36:31Speaker 4: before they made it. I love the idea of him
- 36:33Speaker 4: really excited, really impressed everything. But can we just watch
- 36:37Speaker 4: him play a little bit before we just he nailed it.
- 36:39Speaker 3: No, I think he nailed it.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Well, he definitely nailed it.
- 36:42Speaker 5: I mean, you know, but I think to your point, Paul,
- 36:45Speaker 5: for me, I mean, like just checking the box takes
- 36:48Speaker 5: away from what he could be, like you don't know,
- 36:49Speaker 5: I mean, and and you're saying, you know, from the
- 36:52Speaker 5: good end or the bad end, you know, Like, I mean,
- 36:53Speaker 5: maybe he falls up, but maybe he.
- 36:55Speaker 4: Maybe he's nothing compared to what he's going to be.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Maybe he's Deon Sanders, right, and we haven't even seen
- 37:00Speaker 4: scratch the surface.
- 37:01Speaker 3: That's where I'm at, Like he could be way better
- 37:03Speaker 3: than even we think.
- 37:04Speaker 4: I'm not trying to do it on a negative. Seeah, yeah,
- 37:06Speaker 4: I'm just saying like he's played three games, you know,
- 37:09Speaker 4: and god knows it really rained in two of them,
- 37:12Speaker 4: So you can't play offense in those two games?
- 37:14Speaker 3: Did I wasn't going to bring that up, but did
- 37:17Speaker 3: you did you hear did you hear your twelve million
- 37:19Speaker 3: dollar receiver in the locker room yesterday? On that No?
- 37:22Speaker 4: Oh god, so yesterday I asked you twelve million dollar receiver?
- 37:26Speaker 4: We're talking about Juju?
- 37:28Speaker 3: I asked Juju about the two throws on third down?
- 37:31Speaker 3: You know, just what? What do you feel like happened?
- 37:33Speaker 3: He blamed it on the rain? Okay, said he slipped?
- 37:35Speaker 7: What?
- 37:37Speaker 4: Sorry?
- 37:38Speaker 3: Yeah, let's see what you did?
- 37:40Speaker 1: Justin Connecticut, writes in I emailed a few weeks ago
- 37:43Speaker 1: saying the Wednesday shows are the reason I'm going to
- 37:45Speaker 1: be surviving the break between my classes. Well, I had
- 37:48Speaker 1: to write a four page pager paper, four page paper
- 37:53Speaker 1: about public speaking and debates, and I incorporated Patriots Unfiltered
- 37:57Speaker 1: into my paper and my professor is also an avid
- 38:00Speaker 1: PU little again, Yeah, we had it. Well, she's in Connecticut,
- 38:04Speaker 1: so maybe you connored. Maybe we had a full blown
- 38:07Speaker 1: discussion about Deep's email yesterday. I got a one hundred
- 38:10Speaker 1: on the paper.
- 38:11Speaker 4: Nice.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Thanks PU for keeping my sanity during my breaking, for
- 38:15Speaker 1: helping me get good grades.
- 38:16Speaker 4: I told you, I told you when that when Fred
- 38:19Speaker 4: was done with Deep's email, I told you that's that's
- 38:21Speaker 4: a resonate. It's a good one. Email bringing people at
- 38:24Speaker 4: college together. That was a good email.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Mayberely like Southern Where do you go?
- 38:28Speaker 5: Southern Connecticut, Eastern Connecticut, Central, central connect I didn't.
- 38:31Speaker 4: Like the email.
- 38:32Speaker 1: You don't like the email?
- 38:33Speaker 4: No, no, I was the one that was critical Evan,
- 38:35Speaker 4: but it was critical of me too.
- 38:37Speaker 15: Uh.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Let's go to Todd North Carolina. I hate Todd, so
- 38:40Speaker 1: I kind of have a.
- 38:41Speaker 14: Question for you. I feel that we need to get
- 38:44Speaker 14: both over four hundred total offensive yards to win this game,
- 38:48Speaker 14: and I want to know how you guys would see
- 38:50Speaker 14: that would split up for me. I think I would
- 38:52Speaker 14: like to see about three hundred in the air and
- 38:55Speaker 14: a hundred on the ground.
- 38:56Speaker 1: But I have no.
- 38:57Speaker 14: Idea how they're going to do it, but I think
- 38:59Speaker 14: we need one hundred. What do you guys say, guys will.
- 39:02Speaker 4: On the three hundred on the ground.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I actually never think of it that way, So I
- 39:06Speaker 3: have no idea.
- 39:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I just want to see points they got to
- 39:09Speaker 4: They got to get in the mid to high twenties.
- 39:11Speaker 1: That's it.
- 39:11Speaker 3: If they score, got it.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Score some points this week?
- 39:14Speaker 3: Yeah, they score twenty eight points, and it's like on
- 39:16Speaker 3: like two hundred yards of offense because the defense sets it
- 39:18Speaker 3: up the whole game. I I don't take it four
- 39:21Speaker 3: pick sixes. Yeah.
- 39:22Speaker 1: How would you rank Dallas' defense versus the Jets.
- 39:26Speaker 4: On par on par? Yeah, I mean it's a really
- 39:29Speaker 4: good defense.
- 39:30Speaker 5: Yeah deft, there's some Yeah, I probably would lean that way,
- 39:33Speaker 5: but I don't think really good front, you know, and
- 39:36Speaker 5: and Gilmore is not Sauce Gardner. It might, you know,
- 39:39Speaker 5: change a little bit of thinks. They're both talented teams
- 39:41Speaker 5: with little spikes and talent throughout their defense. I just
- 39:43Speaker 5: think nobody on I mean, Quinny Williams is good, I don't.
- 39:46Speaker 5: I just think Michael Parsons is a little bit better though.
- 39:49Speaker 5: That'd be my vote.
- 39:51Speaker 3: I have vote Jets.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Defense, Jets defense better, better, overall.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Yeah, but I mean without without Digs, I wish I
- 39:59Speaker 4: would give the Jets credit because they have the much
- 40:05Speaker 4: harder job. Like these are like the things that I'm
- 40:08Speaker 4: more interesting rather than the Excel spreadsheet. When you now,
- 40:13Speaker 4: I used to say this about the like the Manning Colts.
- 40:15Speaker 4: When you go on the field every single time you
- 40:17Speaker 4: touch the ball and no you can't punt or you lose,
- 40:19Speaker 4: well you pump once you lose. That's a hard way
- 40:22Speaker 4: to play. And I think that's the way the Jets
- 40:23Speaker 4: defense has to go in the field. They know if
- 40:25Speaker 4: they give up one scoring drive, they lose, and that's
- 40:29Speaker 4: Dallas doesn't have that pressure. So in that regard, maybe
- 40:32Speaker 4: maybe Evans right, but I mean their top three, the
- 40:36Speaker 4: top three in defense, top you know, the top of
- 40:39Speaker 4: the league, and takeaways. Maybe they just beat up on
- 40:41Speaker 4: some bad offenses and caught them off guard. But I
- 40:45Speaker 4: just think they're really good.
- 40:46Speaker 3: I think the Jets linebackers are better. I'd take Mosic
- 40:50Speaker 3: in Quincy Williams over the Cowboys linebackers. And then the
- 40:53Speaker 3: Cowboys don't have Digs, so you know.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Yeah, Diggs is a loss, There's no question about it.
- 40:57Speaker 4: I don't I just think he gives up as many
- 40:59Speaker 4: places as he made.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Williams and Phelim. What's up, William?
- 41:04Speaker 3: Thanks Bred?
- 41:04Speaker 4: How are you doing all right?
- 41:06Speaker 16: All right?
- 41:07Speaker 10: How's the team doing?
- 41:08Speaker 11: Everybody good?
- 41:08Speaker 4: Yeah? Well good? How are you hanging in there?
- 41:11Speaker 9: All right?
- 41:11Speaker 10: I'm okay, I'm okay. This this question is just for Evans.
- 41:15Speaker 10: So Evan just kind of bear with me on this one.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Okay, nobody else answer this? Huh no, go ahead? Okay.
- 41:23Speaker 10: So rather rather up the Patriots if they lose on
- 41:27Speaker 10: Sunday or Starry or whatever they play, we very loose
- 41:30Speaker 10: very if they win or lose. Basically, when did you
- 41:33Speaker 10: decide to say, okay, you know what this team? I mean,
- 41:37Speaker 10: enough of this. We're trying to scheme and whatnot, but
- 41:39Speaker 10: we know what it is. DeVante Parker ain't it?
- 41:42Speaker 1: You know.
- 41:44Speaker 10: Who else is it? Then we out? God I forgot
- 41:46Speaker 10: the rest of the team.
- 41:47Speaker 14: Juju is not it.
- 41:48Speaker 10: Kendrick Bourne's not it, Hai kwan Thum. We don't know
- 41:50Speaker 10: what that's gonna happen, even though I'm still big on him,
- 41:53Speaker 10: open that.
- 41:53Speaker 13: He can just get it together. But do you pick
- 41:57Speaker 13: up the.
- 41:57Speaker 10: Phone at some point, like after the to the game
- 42:00Speaker 10: and say, look, you know what, let's let's make a move.
- 42:02Speaker 10: I know you big on j Jerry Judy so on
- 42:05Speaker 10: I but at the same time we both know he's injured.
- 42:08Speaker 10: He's he's a little bit injured for him, a little bit.
- 42:10Speaker 10: So I mean, do you go up and give a first, Well,
- 42:14Speaker 10: give up I guess you got to give up a
- 42:15Speaker 10: second or third for him, but maybe at first but
- 42:18Speaker 10: DeVante Adams or or do you going to go all in?
- 42:21Speaker 10: And that only I know it is a pipe dreamed
- 42:23Speaker 10: to get Justin Jefferson. But that's because the bill though,
- 42:26Speaker 10: I mean, but I don't know when did you make
- 42:29Speaker 10: the move?
- 42:30Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean I would make a move for a
- 42:32Speaker 3: receiver that elevates that group any tomorrow, like I don't.
- 42:36Speaker 3: I don't have any holding back there. Justin Jefferson though,
- 42:38Speaker 3: interesting that you brought him up on his uh. I
- 42:41Speaker 3: think it was Snapchat or ig story today. Put a
- 42:45Speaker 3: message on there that says, my defense stinks. My defense stinks.
- 42:52Speaker 3: Deleted it, of course. But if Justin Jefferson is caring
- 42:57Speaker 3: about how good his defense is, I know a team
- 43:00Speaker 3: that has a pretty good defense, and I don't think
- 43:03Speaker 3: the quarterbacks that much worse than Kirk cousins and uh,
- 43:06Speaker 3: you know, I'm just speaking my language. Justin Jefferson, we
- 43:09Speaker 3: missed you in the draft a couple of years ago,
- 43:11Speaker 3: but we're gonna get you have. That's where I'm at. Ye,
- 43:16Speaker 3: there you go. Just talk myself.
- 43:17Speaker 5: Wait a couple of years, William, in my opinion, just
- 43:21Speaker 5: let build.
- 43:21Speaker 1: What's the price?
- 43:22Speaker 4: Will work? Fred? Will be?
- 43:24Speaker 3: Fred?
- 43:24Speaker 4: What was that again?
- 43:25Speaker 1: What's the price on that one?
- 43:26Speaker 4: Okay, thank you?
- 43:27Speaker 3: I just talked myself into a four game winning streak
- 43:29Speaker 3: and Justin Jefferson on the paper, I mean assets.
- 43:34Speaker 4: Right, yeah, thanks William.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 43:37Speaker 3: It's a fair question though about the receipt. I mean,
- 43:40Speaker 3: like world Devanta Adams comes here the right, I mean
- 43:43Speaker 3: that's another one, Like there's a possibility that some of
- 43:47Speaker 3: these guys could be available in season that are not
- 43:50Speaker 3: going to be retained by their team's next off. Justin
- 43:53Speaker 3: Jefferson is not one of them. That was just me
- 43:55Speaker 3: messing around, But like DeVante Adams, T Higgins, Jerry Judy,
- 43:59Speaker 3: like those guys are are either pre pre agents or
- 44:02Speaker 3: fifth year option guys or whatever. And like if those
- 44:06Speaker 3: guys come available in season, because the Broncos are zero
- 44:08Speaker 3: and six at the deadline then, like maybe that does.
- 44:11Speaker 5: You're right about the Bengals though, I mean, if they
- 44:13Speaker 5: were to somehow, you know, Burrow's kind of fighting it.
- 44:16Speaker 5: They can't really get over the hump there bout you know,
- 44:18Speaker 5: at some point, maybe you could get something for him
- 44:20Speaker 5: now and.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Right, like if they're one, you know they're wanting to
- 44:23Speaker 4: do that though, because it's not going to happen by Halloween. Yeah,
- 44:27Speaker 4: but DeVante Adams maybe.
- 44:29Speaker 3: Well, I mean that's the one. Call it right, call it.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Ziegler and Joshua please like Higgins at.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Least you can.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Fred.
- 44:36Speaker 4: You please inform that Higgins doesn't cost you anything. I
- 44:40Speaker 4: don't care Adams does. They won't do that, I know.
- 44:44Speaker 3: But Higgin dream isn't going to cost him anything this year.
- 44:47Speaker 3: But he's and he'd be perfectly content to let him go.
- 44:51Speaker 3: I don't think Adams. I don't think it's going to
- 44:53Speaker 3: cost him money unless like the but then the Patriots
- 44:56Speaker 3: are going to have to blow away the Bengals with
- 44:57Speaker 3: the trade offer for him because.
- 44:59Speaker 4: They get rid of I don't think Higgins is available
- 45:02Speaker 4: in a trade. I don't see the Bengals being out
- 45:04Speaker 4: of it the trade deadline, and that's what it would
- 45:06Speaker 4: take to make that trade.
- 45:07Speaker 5: No.
- 45:07Speaker 3: But my point is with Higgins is that Higgins wants
- 45:11Speaker 3: an extension obviously for obvious reasons. So if you're going
- 45:14Speaker 3: to trade for T. Higgins, it's coming on the principle
- 45:18Speaker 3: that you are also going to extend give him a
- 45:20Speaker 3: new contract. So if the Patriots are offering the Bengals
- 45:24Speaker 3: a package that they like, but then T. Higgins is
- 45:26Speaker 3: getting nowhere with the Patriots on a contract negotiation, and
- 45:29Speaker 3: he ain't coming here like unless the Patriots are blowing
- 45:32Speaker 3: everybody else out of the water and the Bengals are like,
- 45:34Speaker 3: we just have to take this deal, which we know
- 45:36Speaker 3: isn't gonna happen.
- 45:37Speaker 4: I think Jerry Judy is the trade deadline possibility that
- 45:40Speaker 4: is much more realistic. I agree to me because I
- 45:43Speaker 4: think the Broncos will be out of it, and you
- 45:47Speaker 4: know it's it's not going to cost you a lot
- 45:48Speaker 4: of money. I don't think he is the caliber of T. Higgins,
- 45:51Speaker 4: so I don't think it'll cost you that much in resources.
- 45:55Speaker 4: I think that's a guy to maybe keep an eye.
- 45:57Speaker 1: On Rashads in Baltimore. Hey, hey, it's up.
- 46:05Speaker 16: First, I just had to say, I gotta say congrats
- 46:07Speaker 16: to Gonzales because I love to pick, you know, and
- 46:12Speaker 16: I love I love where he's going. Like I mean,
- 46:16Speaker 16: he's looking like he could be he could be our superstar.
- 46:19Speaker 16: So that's not that that's nothing that like as the
- 46:22Speaker 16: season goes on, that's not that I actually am you know,
- 46:25Speaker 16: looking forward to you know, when I watch the games.
- 46:28Speaker 16: But I gotta say for Sunday, you know, I think
- 46:31Speaker 16: the Patriots do have a chance to win, but I
- 46:34Speaker 16: really think it's gonna have to be you know, sorry
- 46:37Speaker 16: to repeat, you know, but it's going to be a
- 46:39Speaker 16: defensive game, like we're gonna have to get you know,
- 46:42Speaker 16: two interceptions, maybe some pass rush like I don't know
- 46:46Speaker 16: or where Keon White is or like how many snaps
- 46:50Speaker 16: he's getting. But I think he should get, you know,
- 46:52Speaker 16: some more reps because he was looking good and I know,
- 46:55Speaker 16: you know that preseason, but I'm like, you know, just
- 46:58Speaker 16: give him more chances because I don't know, like I know,
- 47:02Speaker 16: we the Jets game was a good pass rush, but
- 47:05Speaker 16: it hasn't really been a good consistent pass rush you know,
- 47:08Speaker 16: this season. So I'm saying, like, maybe change it up.
- 47:11Speaker 16: But I think we I think we could beat the
- 47:13Speaker 16: Cowboys this week, but that'd be a defensive game.
- 47:17Speaker 3: Yeah, So I looked it up and ke On White
- 47:19Speaker 3: played eighteen snaps on Sunday against the Jets and then
- 47:22Speaker 3: Maphu played seven, So with ten yesterday, we were kind
- 47:26Speaker 3: of split the difference there. But he had one play.
- 47:28Speaker 3: One rush. Keon White did that. He hit Zack Wilson's
- 47:31Speaker 3: arm as Wilson was throwing and Wilson actually was going
- 47:34Speaker 3: to hit a throw.
- 47:35Speaker 4: Yeah, that play was there.
- 47:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I know the player, Wilson made the right read
- 47:39Speaker 3: and got the ball out on time and all that.
- 47:41Speaker 3: But Keon White's just wingspan is just crazy, and he
- 47:45Speaker 3: bull rushed the guy into Zach Wilson's lap and then
- 47:49Speaker 3: just reached out with his arm and was able to
- 47:51Speaker 3: get a piece of it.
- 47:52Speaker 5: Some of those limited snaps, he's finding a way to
- 47:54Speaker 5: make little plays here and there. It's just, you know,
- 47:56Speaker 5: can you harness those and build on them and you know,
- 47:58Speaker 5: extrapolate those to a full game and playing you know,
- 48:01Speaker 5: fifty snaps or whatever.
- 48:03Speaker 4: Really trying to I agree with them. I just I'd
- 48:05Speaker 4: love to see those guys out there a little more.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Just to the side. What did you think about that?
- 48:08Speaker 1: T shirt that the players are wearing. No one is coming.
- 48:11Speaker 15: Well.
- 48:11Speaker 5: I think it's a message to people who call in
- 48:13Speaker 5: and want to trade for a wide receiver.
- 48:15Speaker 1: That was but is that I don't know, but like
- 48:18Speaker 1: to me, like it seemed to odd and out of character.
- 48:20Speaker 3: It's more like, we're not trading to eat help.
- 48:22Speaker 4: We're not trading for a number one, eat help.
- 48:24Speaker 1: But we're only it's only gonna come from within.
- 48:26Speaker 3: Is that?
- 48:27Speaker 1: Is that what they're saying.
- 48:28Speaker 3: I didn't care for it either, but it was Joe Judge,
- 48:32Speaker 3: Joe Judge's idea, I believe, is what I what the
- 48:35Speaker 3: reporters were tweeting yesterday about it. I mean cool, like,
- 48:39Speaker 3: I guess it's a rallying cry for the team, but
- 48:42Speaker 3: I would I would like to think.
- 48:44Speaker 4: I really, I'm really surprised that you got like I
- 48:46Speaker 4: feel exactly the same way you guys do. I saw
- 48:48Speaker 4: a few people on Twitter last night. I know our
- 48:50Speaker 4: buddy Andy was feeling the same way. I just figured
- 48:53Speaker 4: for sure it was like, oh, I'm just sometimes I'm
- 48:56Speaker 4: not like a big fan of those things and it's
- 48:59Speaker 4: a me thing. I'm really surprised to hear you guys
- 49:01Speaker 4: feel exactly the same way, Like, I've seen a lot
- 49:03Speaker 4: of slogans, you know, why kids play high school football,
- 49:05Speaker 4: so it's you know, it's there's no.
- 49:07Speaker 3: It's we over me.
- 49:08Speaker 4: You know, it's all those kinds of things, and they're
- 49:11Speaker 4: kind of corny and stuff, but they make sense. Yeah,
- 49:14Speaker 4: this I agree.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Fred articulated it perfectly.
- 49:17Speaker 4: Yeah, like we need help, but none's coming, so suck
- 49:21Speaker 4: it up. Right, That's kind of what that message tells me.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Like I didn't get it, And who are they like
- 49:26Speaker 1: talking to themselves, like, hey, there's too much talking here
- 49:30Speaker 1: about we need this and that or don't listen to
- 49:33Speaker 1: the noise them saying that we like it. Just there's
- 49:36Speaker 1: too many questions that this slogan raises.
- 49:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't I didn't like it.
- 49:42Speaker 4: I didn't care for.
- 49:43Speaker 3: What was the one they had early on in Belichick's tenure.
- 49:47Speaker 4: Here, wasn't there a T shirt?
- 49:47Speaker 1: You guys are talked about targeting September targeting winners, Winners
- 49:52Speaker 1: wanted was another one.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Winners wanted, I wanted, winners wanted. They don't really resonate.
- 49:59Speaker 3: It's all seriousness though it is obviously it's obviously like
- 50:03Speaker 3: the solutions here in this locker room, right, like that's
- 50:06Speaker 3: what the message is trying to be sent.
- 50:08Speaker 4: But you know, but I wasn't aware we were looking
- 50:10Speaker 4: for a solution to Fred's point, like it's openly admitting
- 50:13Speaker 4: you're looking for answers right offenses. No, But to my point,
- 50:18Speaker 4: like don't you stay the course? Aren't you confident? Like
- 50:22Speaker 4: why why are we talking about all the things that
- 50:23Speaker 4: we don't have?
- 50:24Speaker 15: No?
- 50:24Speaker 3: I felt like we're stranded here and nobody's coming.
- 50:27Speaker 4: So we got to figure it out.
- 50:28Speaker 1: And then I was thinking of is there a movie
- 50:30Speaker 1: that they're coming out that they're playing, because there was
- 50:32Speaker 1: that one movie. It was a horror movie like no
- 50:34Speaker 1: One can Hear You or something like that.
- 50:36Speaker 5: It was oh, in space, no one can hear yea
- 50:39Speaker 5: yeah yeah aliens.
- 50:40Speaker 1: But like it's just like I said, it raises too
- 50:44Speaker 1: many questions.
- 50:45Speaker 3: May encyclopedia.
- 50:46Speaker 1: Yeah, hey hi Alex, Hey.
- 50:49Speaker 17: Guys, I was going to wait till the break, but.
- 50:54Speaker 18: I turned it off instead of turning it on. Yeah,
- 50:56Speaker 18: I was gonna wait till the break to come in.
- 50:58Speaker 18: But this T shirt thing is hilarious.
- 50:59Speaker 3: What do you thought?
- 51:00Speaker 17: I think that the wording probably should have been run
- 51:03Speaker 17: by someone with a pr background to kind of yeah.
- 51:06Speaker 4: Fine, tune it a little so you feel like Fred does.
- 51:09Speaker 17: Yeah, I understand the message, but it's like the semantics
- 51:12Speaker 17: of it.
- 51:12Speaker 1: I don't even understand the message.
- 51:14Speaker 17: Get the message right, like what Evan was kind of saying,
- 51:17Speaker 17: like we're here, like this is a team that's going to.
- 51:19Speaker 15: Get it done.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Raw, raw, Why do we need say this? What's the world?
- 51:24Speaker 3: And just get on with it?
- 51:25Speaker 4: You know, get it?
- 51:27Speaker 1: I agree, Like if you were you just want to
- 51:29Speaker 1: game and no one's coming, it's up to us. Like again,
- 51:33Speaker 1: who are we talking to here?
- 51:35Speaker 5: I mean, it's not that like mac thing going to
- 51:36Speaker 5: look at other offenses to like see what you know?
- 51:39Speaker 5: Other offenses aren't coming to help us doing that?
- 51:42Speaker 18: Goodness?
- 51:43Speaker 4: Come on.
- 51:45Speaker 1: All right anyway, I just thought i'd bring that up.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Alex is here, she's joining us. Hello, h John's and Louisiana.
- 51:53Speaker 1: What's up?
- 51:54Speaker 3: Basketball? Question for you? At some point?
- 51:57Speaker 1: What's up? John? Hey?
- 52:00Speaker 11: I had a question. Somebody talks about the offense unity.
- 52:03Speaker 11: I wasn't wondering how you'll feel about the bunch concept?
- 52:06Speaker 11: Almost every time the first so I was going on,
- 52:10Speaker 11: how y'all feel about that bunch more than just being
- 52:14Speaker 11: third in the roll?
- 52:14Speaker 3: You mean like trips wide and no bunch of like
- 52:17Speaker 3: three receiver bunches, like the triangles.
- 52:20Speaker 4: That they make you offense, it's coordinated.
- 52:23Speaker 3: I love bunch formations, but uh, you know, they used
- 52:25Speaker 3: him a ton of week one against Philly and they
- 52:27Speaker 3: they hit the touchdown to Kendrick Bourne, big play to
- 52:30Speaker 3: the Mario Douglas and those are O'Brien staples, Like that's
- 52:34Speaker 3: a big part of his offense. But they are game
- 52:36Speaker 3: plan offense. So you know, some defenses they might feel
- 52:38Speaker 3: like they were going to work better against than others.
- 52:41Speaker 3: And the Jets, you know, play a lot of zone anyway,
- 52:44Speaker 3: so they probably felt like it wasn't going to be
- 52:46Speaker 3: a big stressor for the Jets to handle those. But
- 52:49Speaker 3: a team that plays more man or has a little
- 52:51Speaker 3: bit more inexperienced, like the Cowboys, I think maybe they
- 52:54Speaker 3: will be.
- 52:54Speaker 5: That's something that stuck out to me with some of
- 52:56Speaker 5: the Patriots defenses in the past that maybe were a
- 52:58Speaker 5: little bit more inexperienced in the secondary problems with sorting
- 53:01Speaker 5: out bunches. That's been like, you know, not a recurring problem,
- 53:04Speaker 5: but like one that you see pop up early season.
- 53:06Speaker 4: Young can't figure out how to let them.
- 53:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I think O'Brien's bunches, uh in particular are are
- 53:12Speaker 3: I would use the word diabolical like those things like
- 53:15Speaker 3: because they they switch release right, so like the inside
- 53:18Speaker 3: receiver cuts out, the outside receiver cuts in. Like there's
- 53:21Speaker 3: all sorts of you know, kind of criss crossing going
- 53:24Speaker 3: on at the line of scrimmage and stuff. And they're
- 53:26Speaker 3: they're well designed.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Do they generate rubs?
- 53:29Speaker 3: Yeah? Sometimes sometimes Yeah, gotta banjo it there you go.
- 53:37Speaker 11: Could that be a way to you know, make it better?
- 53:39Speaker 3: Like, yeah, yeah, I think so. And that that's something
- 53:44Speaker 3: that I have, you know, thought about this week, was
- 53:48Speaker 3: you know, getting back to some of those that you
- 53:50Speaker 3: saw against Philadelphia and you know, using some of that
- 53:53Speaker 3: leverage to be able to help guys get open and
- 53:55Speaker 3: things like that against man to man. I think sometimes
- 53:58Speaker 3: again last week against you know, the Jets, they did
- 54:02Speaker 3: try that pickwheel concept to Juju and they banjoed it,
- 54:05Speaker 3: as Dude said, and the Jets handled it and did
- 54:08Speaker 3: a good job against it. But in general, like that
- 54:10Speaker 3: stuff can help you know, the rubs. As Fred was saying,
- 54:13Speaker 3: you know, switch releases, bunches, things like that do typically
- 54:17Speaker 3: help receivers and aren't great at getting open against man coverage.
- 54:20Speaker 3: It gives them some tools.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Speaking of formations, what what's your guys in ladies take
- 54:25Speaker 1: on you know the Eagles uh formation? Push like what
- 54:31Speaker 1: you know? Like there's been a lot of Sherman's blow
- 54:34Speaker 1: back on it that you know, that's that's the best
- 54:36Speaker 1: comment I've heard on it.
- 54:37Speaker 4: It was Richard Sherman's.
- 54:39Speaker 5: Yep, yeah, he I mean he said you wouldn't let
- 54:41Speaker 5: the defense do that because it was a health and
- 54:43Speaker 5: safety issue.
- 54:43Speaker 4: A block of field goal. You can't push anybody, you
- 54:46Speaker 4: can't leverage and all that stuff.
- 54:48Speaker 1: But I thought the NFL that you can't assist the player.
- 54:52Speaker 3: You can't carry him or carry him. But you can,
- 54:54Speaker 3: but there's no rule about pushing.
- 54:56Speaker 1: No rule about pushing.
- 54:57Speaker 4: Kind of feels like old school football, like you know,
- 54:59Speaker 4: like from like the thirty.
- 55:00Speaker 1: But I know that you like for you can't use
- 55:02Speaker 1: a player to vault, to vault over that.
- 55:05Speaker 3: You can't do the Jamie Collins Shay McClellan thing anymore.
- 55:07Speaker 1: But even like for guys like on his chair, you
- 55:10Speaker 1: can't like to step on his back and jump over
- 55:12Speaker 1: the pile. You know, you can't use a player to vault.
- 55:16Speaker 1: I know that's a rule, right.
- 55:17Speaker 4: Yeah, you can't touch If you jump over a guy,
- 55:19Speaker 4: you have to go all the way over. You can't
- 55:21Speaker 4: touch anything.
- 55:22Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, and you can't jump over the snapper anymore,
- 55:24Speaker 3: right right, you can't, you can't.
- 55:26Speaker 1: But what do you think about this the pushing?
- 55:29Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 55:30Speaker 5: I'm kind of torn because on one hand, it's just
- 55:32Speaker 5: like it's a short yardage play and it's hard to
- 55:33Speaker 5: like really regulate that kind of chaos. But I mean
- 55:36Speaker 5: it does seem kind of unfair, like in a way.
- 55:39Speaker 5: But why doesn't every team start to I.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Don't think ye, when you look at it, I don't
- 55:43Speaker 1: think it's so much the pushing that makes that play successful.
- 55:46Speaker 1: I think it's just the bunching of the massive humanity.
- 55:51Speaker 1: You know, like every team has quarterback sneaks, but they
- 55:53Speaker 1: do it out of you know, their normal formation. But
- 55:56Speaker 1: this one, it's like we're doing this and they just
- 55:58Speaker 1: bunch everyone, you know together, And I don't think the
- 56:01Speaker 1: pushing makes that much of a difference, you know, I
- 56:04Speaker 1: think the pushings for show.
- 56:05Speaker 3: I think that banning it would be probably an overreaction,
- 56:10Speaker 3: I would say.
- 56:10Speaker 18: And probably hard to write, like hard just it's.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Been around, you know, the Eagles like started it last year.
- 56:17Speaker 3: It's only been a short period of time. Like, let
- 56:20Speaker 3: let Belichick get in the in the in the room
- 56:22Speaker 3: with the coaches and like figure out a way to
- 56:24Speaker 3: stop it first before we just start banning things.
- 56:27Speaker 4: You know, like this happens the Jets, they stopped it.
- 56:29Speaker 3: Yeah, well that's true. This happens all the time, like
- 56:32Speaker 3: things come out.
- 56:33Speaker 1: I don't think there is a way to stop it, really.
- 56:36Speaker 1: I think the only way.
- 56:37Speaker 4: Of Jets stopped it on Sunday.
- 56:38Speaker 3: Yeah, did they yea and one.
- 56:41Speaker 4: That's the whole get up and punch them in the
- 56:43Speaker 4: nuts play. Yeah, they stopped the quarterback sneak with the
- 56:47Speaker 4: But if.
- 56:47Speaker 1: They if the league really is worried about safety, then
- 56:50Speaker 1: the only way to stop that is spacing. Like there
- 56:52Speaker 1: has to be certain space between each line, right.
- 56:55Speaker 4: You can't allow the Well, the spacing and alignment isn't
- 56:58Speaker 4: the issue. It's the spacing of the bat. They put
- 57:00Speaker 4: two backs, two power guys right next to the quarterback
- 57:05Speaker 4: and then they're all pushing the quarterback forward. So it
- 57:09Speaker 4: would be if you're going to ban it, you would
- 57:10Speaker 4: have to like it'd be like shifting in baseball that
- 57:13Speaker 4: they've sort of you know, illegal defenses in basketball, they'd
- 57:17Speaker 4: have to ban that alignment and have the lot the
- 57:20Speaker 4: backs would have to be back. But to Evan's point, well,
- 57:22Speaker 4: I'm sorry, I think Alex you made the point about
- 57:24Speaker 4: legislating it. You're still going to gym your full back
- 57:28Speaker 4: right into the back of the quarterback. He's just gonna
- 57:29Speaker 4: have to start from three yards further back, so it's
- 57:32Speaker 4: still pushing everybody. But I did, like I thought, there
- 57:35Speaker 4: was a lot of hue and cry about it last year,
- 57:38Speaker 4: frankly because Philadelphia was so good at it. You know,
- 57:40Speaker 4: Peter King, who often people like when I use the
- 57:44Speaker 4: term clutches his pearls about how you know unfair this is,
- 57:49Speaker 4: you know, spent the whole off season saying, you know,
- 57:51Speaker 4: to legislate this rugby play out of it. I never
- 57:53Speaker 4: heard anybody make a good argument. Sherman's argument yesterday I
- 57:58Speaker 4: thought was logical. You can't do it on defense, why
- 58:01Speaker 4: can you do it on offense?
- 58:02Speaker 3: Also, Brady still King of the QB sneak. This never
- 58:06Speaker 3: gets This is not a k this is his own thing,
- 58:09Speaker 3: So don't hit me with the Jalen Hurts is better
- 58:11Speaker 3: at QB sneaks.
- 58:12Speaker 4: No, no one was better at the quarterback sneak than Brady.
- 58:15Speaker 4: I mean, I know that probably depresses much.
- 58:17Speaker 3: Yeah, he doesn't want to talk about much.
- 58:19Speaker 4: Like everything else Brady did, he was best. Yeah, I
- 58:22Speaker 4: guess in retrospect, but wellking back, maybe I didn't appreciate
- 58:27Speaker 4: it as much as I should.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Brady might be good at that, but no one's better
- 58:31Speaker 1: at lunch than Paul and Paul.
- 58:33Speaker 4: Especial especially with the Buffalo tenors right there.

- 59:57Speaker 7: trivia for an extra large Patriots on Phil shirt. Get
- 1:00:01Speaker 7: get through them and we'll get some new gear. I
- 1:00:03Speaker 7: heard there's rumors of hoodies on the way, so we'll

- 1:00:06Speaker 3: The Excels are the best ones in my Patriots. You
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: want it to be a little bit roomy, you know, it's.
- 1:00:11Speaker 7: A good Sunday hangover shirt. Exactly that exactly, But guys,
- 1:00:15Speaker 7: we will do some trivia Question one, what Patriots quarterback
- 1:00:20Speaker 7: threw for three thousand and seventy two yards with nine
- 1:00:24Speaker 7: touchdowns and eighteen interceptions in the early nineties. All right,
- 1:00:28Speaker 7: that's question one. It can get worse, it cat home.
- 1:00:32Speaker 7: Question two? Who wore number eighty two during the two
- 1:00:36Speaker 7: thousand and three season? Okay, all right? Question three? This
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: one stumped everybody. We did this in the office, and
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: I'm gonna plug the Patriots app in here as a hint.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:00:48Speaker 7: The questions there? What jersey number or numbers did Troy
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: Brown wear it during his Patriots tenure?
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: Or numbers?
- 1:00:56Speaker 7: Numbers?
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: He got me with this one, yeah, number or numbers? One?
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Easy one.
- 1:01:02Speaker 7: Send your answers into web radio at Patriots dot com
- 1:01:05Speaker 7: for the extra large unfiltered T shirt. Let's get into it, guys.
- 1:01:10Speaker 7: This might be the last Wookie wound up Wookie Wookie
- 1:01:13Speaker 7: wound up for a while, because I'm starting to get
- 1:01:16Speaker 7: some cool new ideas. But we're gonna keep these going.
- 1:01:18Speaker 7: This is uh Week three of the NFL. So what
- 1:01:23Speaker 7: rookie stood out to you?
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Mike? You can go first.
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: Well, how about AFC Defensive Rookie of the Month, Christian n.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: NFL give him.
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: The whole lea, give them the whole league.
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: You know, let's let's start their big news today breaking,
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: and that's you know, great news. I mean it's it's
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: this is the player they needed. They fell to him.
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: Evan and I were both ecstatic. Number one on the
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: big boards. But I I think we've all known that
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: they need this player ever since Stefan Gilmore left in
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: and it really seems I mean, he's even surprised me.
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: I expected to see some growing pains, but you know,
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: really after that, like what first preseason game where he
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: kind of got trucked a little little bit, like he's
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: sticking his nose in there. Look, he's never gonna be
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: the most physical guy in the world. I don't really care.
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: He moves awesome, and it's just been really cool to
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: watch him develop here over the first couple months. We
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: haven't had enough of these kind of guys that come
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: in and just play really well.
- 1:02:12Speaker 7: And what about the talent he's been going against.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you got a J.
- 1:02:15Speaker 7: Brown and devonte' Tyreek Hill and then Garrett Wilson. While
- 1:02:19Speaker 7: they have some quarterback issues, he's not a bum.
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: So they're gonna get.
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: To like Michael Thomas next week and he'll be like, oh,
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: this is too this is easy.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: Ye, Like he's like a downstack this week. No rest
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: for the weary. But I think the biggest thing is
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: what Mike said was there's been really knock on wood,
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: cross your fingers. There's been no coverage busts with him involved.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: There's been no mental errors either, which I think is
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: we all knew he could cover, like you could watch
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: that on film in college, and he could move his
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: hips and he could have had great footwork and length
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: and all that kind of stuff and long speed. We
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: all knew he could cover. But the lack of mental
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: breakdowns has been extremely impressive for a guy that's playing
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: basically every single snap as a rookie and he's not
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: really messing up at all mentally, that that's impressive.
- 1:03:03Speaker 7: Just wait till he switches into the zero jersey next year.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: Hopefully that's my hope.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna go next.
- 1:03:09Speaker 7: Sam Laporta from the Lions, you know, the last year,
- 1:03:13Speaker 7: I was like, what the heck are the Lions doing?
- 1:03:16Speaker 7: You're building something you trade TJ. Hawkins in in the division,
- 1:03:20Speaker 7: and this guy's making it seem like not that big
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: a mistake. I mean, Week three had eight for eleven
- 1:03:25Speaker 7: eighty four yards and a touchdown. So there's some good
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: drafting there by the Lions, who have made some questionable
- 1:03:30Speaker 7: decisions in the past.
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: That's NFL records for most receptions by a rookie tight
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: end through their first three games with eighteen. So he's yeah,
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: I mean, and he's a guy that Evan talked plenty
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: about when we saw him at the combine. You know,
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: I think we all kind of thought maybe they would
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: dip into that tight end class because it was so stacked.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: Didn't really come to fruition. They've been leaning on Kasicki
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: and Henry. But but he's a great player.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: Yeah, he's exactly what I expected him to be. I
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: used to call him the draft process third in Laporta,
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: Like I just knew, I just knew he was gonna
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: move the chains. But like, eight for eight is exactly
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: what I expected. Not a guy that's going to be
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: this big play monster, but he's gonna be a volume guy,
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: you know, third and five. He's a type of guy
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: that can win a mismatch and get open at the
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: top of the route. And he's very very very quick,
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: very sudden in his breaks to create that separation, and
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: he's he's a really good player, not necessarily that hand
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: in the dirt blocking tight end necessarily, but a really
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: really good receiver.
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: Haven't you got any any other guys you're into? This
- 1:04:27Speaker 7: past week?
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: CJ. Stroud big, big win against the Jaguars and through
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: for two to eighty a couple touchdowns. He looks fantastic,
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: and he threw I think for three over three hundred
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: the week before. I mean, I know they were behind,
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: so he threw a lot, but just in general, the timing,
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: the rhythm, the progression, speed of the accuracy with the football,
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: the different things that they've done with him under center,
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: shotgun play action like turning his back to the defense
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: like that type of stuff that he didn't do a
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: ton at Ohio State. I think the biggest worry with
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: him was how is he going to handle pressure pocket?
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: Because in Ohio State a lot like Alabama quarterbacks, they're
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: sitting in these pockets. There's nobody around him for three
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: four seconds, and he's handled pretty much everything seamlessly. I've
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: been really impressed with him, and I know he's caught
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: a lot of people's eyes.
- 1:05:14Speaker 7: I got one more Uh, because you gotta you gotta
- 1:05:16Speaker 7: mention this game. It was a score gammi game. Uh,
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: but two hundred and thirty three total yards from scrimmage.
- 1:05:28Speaker 7: I mean the Dolphins, it's unfair. They were in the
- 1:05:31Speaker 7: talks for Jonathan Taylor and now you got that running
- 1:05:34Speaker 7: back group there, and I mean that could be bad Broncos,
- 1:05:36Speaker 7: but I mean this is now.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: It's unfair to add a guy chan has I think
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: four to three speed. Yeah, and you add that to
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: Tyreek Kill and Jalen Wild didn't even play in the game,
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: and they scored seventy.
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: On that defense too, Like yeah, I mean, look.
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: The Broncos missed a lot of tackles. They pretty much
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: gave up in the second quarter of that game. But
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: I think the biggest thing when you look at Miami
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: from a Patriots lens, you gotta play two deep safeties
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: to take the you know, keep them from hitting the
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: big plays down the field. And now McDaniel's going to
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: get them running the ball like this. It's it's feast
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: to for Like, it's what do you do, right? Yeah,
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: pick your poison. Last year they were nowhere near as
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: dynamic like this in the ground game. So you could
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: play those two deep shells and keep the big plays
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: to a minimum and hold them down. But now if
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: h On is going to run for two hundred yards
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: when you empty the box, it's like, oh boy, you know,
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: now you really don't know what it is.
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: Then you get him off the field and most at Hopson,
- 1:06:31Speaker 7: so you never know. I'll mention one more guy from
- 1:06:33Speaker 7: that game, even though they got blown out. I've been
- 1:06:35Speaker 7: seeing him every every week. Marvin Mims seventy three yards.
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: He had a two kick returns sol one hundred and
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: twenty one yards and a touchdown. So the one single
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: bright spot from that game, I guess.
- 1:06:46Speaker 5: I mean he has been a price spot, and I
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: think that's why people are saying, hey, send us Jerry Judy.
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: Yeah, it's time. Finally, can I mention one more guy?
- 1:06:53Speaker 13: Go for it.
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: I was just gonna mention Brian Branch because I think
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: he was a really interesting player, you know, for all
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: of us coming out, because he's that prototypical kind of
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: you know, safety, box linebacker kind of guy. And then
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: he ran really slow at the combine and he went
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: from you know, everybody kind of having him in the
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: first round to fall in a little bit but he's
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: been super productive, and I think it's just a little
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: bit of a reminder, you know, don't get carried away
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: with the stats when you get to when you get
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: to the combine and guy's run slow. Sometimes, if a
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: guy can play, a guy can play. And he's been a.
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: Great addition to to Detroit's defense.
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: It's fun to see the people that we mentioned on
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: the Prospect preview, Yeah, ball out and you're like, damn,
- 1:07:32Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: I know, and it's it's you know, it's funny because
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: like on one hand, you're like, hell, we're all over Gonzales,
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: we are all over Branch, But then you know, you
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: get these other guys that just kind of come out
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: of nowhere, you know, and you don't.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: Really expect it. And that's what the fun of the
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: draft is.
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: And you know, I just hope the Patriots can hit
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: on more of those kind of players that you don't
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: really expect or see coming.
- 1:07:48Speaker 7: I'm also interested now with Mike Williams's injury to see
- 1:07:51Speaker 7: how Quentin Johnson does. He's gont to step into that
- 1:07:53Speaker 7: number two receiver role.
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: So yeah, outside of Zay Flowers, who's had his moments,
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: but uh, JSN Quinton Johnston, even Addison like those. Addison
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: had that one big touchdown right against the Eagles and that.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: How much of Adams Jefferson too.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Yeah, there hasn't been a ton for the first round
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: wide receivers. And this was a class that some people
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: had some skepticism about if it really was a great receiver.
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: Class at the top.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: And so far, I mean Zay's had his end a
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: rounds and little screens and things like that that he's
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: done well on, but hasn't really hit much down the
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: field yet. I I don't know. We'll see what happens
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: with this class.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: All right. So that's it. Guys.
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: Send your trivia to Webrad at Patriots dot com. If
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: you didn't get it, check it on the Patriots app.
- 1:08:36Speaker 7: We love to drive some engagement there. We might be
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: taking a quick break from the rookie round up, so
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: I'll let you know when we're back with this.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: But let's get back to Patriots. I'm filtered.
- 1:08:47Speaker 20: When someone accidentally threw away the school play costumes, oh No,
- 1:08:52Speaker 20: replacements were shipped with FedEx and with picture proof of delivery,
- 1:08:56Speaker 20: everyone could focus on the perfect opening night FedEx where
- 1:08:59Speaker 20: Now it's next for residential delivery only.
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: And now great moments in.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: History. So when you say you're defensive front seven, guy,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: what does that mean?
- 1:09:12Speaker 15: Like?
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: Like, I just love it.
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: It's my favorite part of the team building and how
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: they put it together from where the guys win.
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: Are you guys all looking at each other making fun
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: of you?
- 1:09:21Speaker 18: Urd alert?
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: Well, I didn't roll my eyes. I was just making
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: fun of him.
- 1:09:25Speaker 20: It's just hilarious because when he talks about defensive line guys,
- 1:09:29Speaker 20: his voice changes a little.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Yes, we had the greatest quarterback in the history of
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: the game. He's gone Lawrence guy, not no, no disrespect
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: to Lawrence.
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: I love it. No, you're totally right.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: That's another great moment from.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: All right back here in Patriots Unfiltered eight five five
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: past five hundred is the A Sticket hotline web radio
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: at Patriots dot com. Is the email address We gave
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: away some T shirts at halftime pay PU halftime show. Yeah,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: that's what we're going with, right, I think so for
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: you halftime.
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: He keeps trying to bring it back to the show
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: within the show. Halftime show.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Okay, all right, this is.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: My favorite part of the show within the show though,
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: good question here Paul, very curious if you know the
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: answer to number three.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: What jersey number or numbers? Detroit Brown wear this during
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: his Patriots tenure.
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: This one? Do you know this one?
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: Well?
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: Obviously eighty yeah, but he also wore number six.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Not according to this, Paul, he wore eighty and eighty six.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: Okay, he also wore number six.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Okay in training camp, is Ryan, Well, that doesn't count, right, Okay,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: training camp? I think he has to wear it during
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: the season.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: Yeah, what would agree? I didn't know. I would agree
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: with Fred. I didn't know he wore eighty six the
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: second year.
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: It's I mean, it's in Pro Football Reference, like Matisa,
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: it was the whole thing upstairs, like trying to figure out.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: I had no idea who wore number eighty two during
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: the two thousand.
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: And three season, said Dan Graham.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: That's correct, Andrew and Louisiana got it.
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: I didn't l you didn't know that, so you know
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: the answer?
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: No, Well, the Troy Brown when we discussed up, like
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: you know that was true, the Troy Brown one.
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: But he came to me and he's like, you know
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: what I mean?
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: He thought He asked, O D fraud fr O D
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: I could have been like eighty six too.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: What Patriots quarterback threw for three thousand and seventy two
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: yards with nine touchdowns and eighteen interceptions in the early
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: nineties nine touchdowns and eighteen interceptions A little hum millin
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: esque h Millan is the correct answer, nice and Joel him.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: Was Steve Grogan.
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: Those guys are Joe Shapiro got that nine touchdowns, eighteen picks.
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: That's that's got Grogy.
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: Tommy Hodson was he in that com I don't know
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: if he would have played that much of the season
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: to throw the kind of blend together.
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: For me, there was a year there, I think it
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: was ninety one where it was like Hugh DEENI when
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: he was he was on a game. Well yeah, he
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: was like making all these like late game comebacks and
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: they won a couple of them. Some of them they
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: would fall short.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: But he just wasn't good.
- 1:12:07Speaker 4: Miss and Cisen remember that that was the home of
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: miss and Sisten. That was one of the all time
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: great signs in the stadium. That guy got in trouble too.
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: They wouldn't let him in really mean to the players. Yeah,
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: and I felt bad because you know, I sort of
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: think of a little bit like Chad Ryland. You know,
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: like he goes out there forty eight, forty eight, forty nine,
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: fifty one, fifty seven. Welcome to the team, kid. You know,
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: he had he had like a no time left game
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: tying field goal. I think I want to say against
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: Detroit Cison, like early in the season, second third week,
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: it's like fifty five yards and he hit the crossbar
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: and I'm like, you're going to kill the kid because
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: he missed. You know, he missed a fifty five yarder.
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: And this was like obviously thirty years ago, and now
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: you know, you're kind of surprised when Justin Tucker comes,
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: you know, like a millimeter short on a sixty something
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: yarder that would have won the game. Speaking of that, Fred,
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: we were talking about like the different things about remember
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: Trent Brown moving around causing like a delayed game or
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: cousin penalties. Baltimore did something in that game against Indianapolis
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: was really smart, something Belichick would definitely do. Oh yeah,
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: the Colts had a fourth and short and they lined
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: up with their offense and they broke the huddle and
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: they were getting ready to go for it. And then
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: like I would say with about twenty seconds fifteen seconds
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: on the play clock. They all ran off and the no,
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: I'm sorry, the field goal team was on. Then they
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: all ran off and the offense ran on and they
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: were hoping to be able to snap the play. But
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: one guy for Baltimore, who was obviously well coached, just
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: sort of took his time meandered off into the backfield,
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: you know, went walked past and just started walking off
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: the field. Because if you if you switch personnel, the
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: umpire immediately comes in. He puts the arm arms out
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: and says, no, you have to allow the other team
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: to switch. So Baltimore took their sweet time switching and
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: led to a delay game penalty. It was really really
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: well done by the Ravens. They lost anyway, But just
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: saying yeah, well, yeah, that Belichick would absolutely do that,
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: Like you see a late change like that. Oh, he's
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: probably like you just didn't think of that. Just oh no,
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: I'm sure I'm sure he thought of it. I'm dead serious.
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: That's right up Bill's alley.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Well, I think Bill gets credit for a lot of
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: that stuff.
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: But Harbor Harbaugh probably stole it from Bill. But in
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: all serious, but but John Harbaugh has been around he's
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: pretty good at that. They don't like him, but he's
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: a pretty good that'd.
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: Be a good Friday Bill question if he was, you know,
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: if it wasn't another two minute press conference tomorrow.
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: So I'm I'm curious, I'm gonna I'm gonna go again tomorrow.
- 1:14:44Speaker 4: Make sure you remind me, because you know me ct
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: I forget. I like to see if it's another did
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: you you were there last week Alex for a like two.
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: Minutes, the in and out.
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: Yeah, it was brutal, so fast, and every every answer was.
- 1:14:57Speaker 17: Like one, especially mono tone to sometimes in the morning
- 1:15:01Speaker 17: when he's he does that. I just it reminds me being
- 1:15:04Speaker 17: in school and like listening to an old projector is.
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: He Actually he gave rare information like open to that thing,
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: but he you know, he had when when talking about
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: Will Greer, he definitively said he's going to be the
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: emergency quarterback. And then when he was asked the question
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: about Marcus Jones, he definitively said he's going.
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: To be out a while, like like he never says that, and.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: I don't get it.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: He's wearing button down shirts to every press conference now
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: every every other year. That I've ever seen him has
- 1:15:33Speaker 5: been wearing those sweatshirts or whatever he just happened to
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: have on that.
- 1:15:36Speaker 18: Sometimes, yes, sneakers, but routinely he's.
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: Got an IMPI consultant of some sort, or he doesn't.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: All right, we got to do picks, so we got hurry.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: So let's praying through some of these calls and emails
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: CJ's and Casey, what's up, CJ, CJ, c J.
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: Did you see Taylor's CJ's out.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Let's go to Jackson in Alabama. It's up Jackson, Hey.
- 1:16:07Speaker 21: Man, how are you doing?
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:16:09Speaker 11: I just wanted to.
- 1:16:11Speaker 21: Say that I'm just entirely, entirely done with Joe Judge,
- 1:16:15Speaker 21: like with the whole the whole thing, with the T
- 1:16:17Speaker 21: shirt and the whole narrative of anybody cares what Joe
- 1:16:21Speaker 21: Judge says. I'm just tired of it, and I just
- 1:16:26Speaker 21: don't think he's a very good coach man. First time,
- 1:16:28Speaker 21: long time. Just want to let you go. I'll take
- 1:16:30Speaker 21: Dan off.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: There, all right, thanks Jackson. Speaking of Joe Judge on
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: the T shirt, Matthew in New Mexico says on Twitter yesterday,
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: so someone say that Joe Judge used that quote when
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: he was at the Giants. All right, right, he likes
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: that everything for you know, anything you did at the Giants,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: please don't take here, leave it.
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: Just do every instinct you have to the opposite.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Leave it in East Rutherford. Uh. I just don't get it.
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: I don't get it.
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: I don't get that either. But I mean he's I like,
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: I mean, I like how he's kind of been under
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: the radar. He doesn't have to really talk to the
- 1:17:04Speaker 5: media anymore. And I mean then they've had a couple,
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: you know, good special teams play so far, so a
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: little bit of I said, they had a couple of
- 1:17:10Speaker 5: good specialties.
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: They blocked the field goal. The blockfield goal was one
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: of the greatest play. I can't say enough about the
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: blockfield goal. The rest of special teams has been disappointing.
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: I really like that Brandon's school.
- 1:17:23Speaker 5: You know, did you see that one where he like
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: slingshot it off the guy that was That was pretty cool.
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: I've never seen that before.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: How about the eighteen yard part return to set them
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: up on a short field in that game? Well, that
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: was a bad play. Yeah yeah, how about the two
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: bad snaps on field goals? Yeah? How about how about
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: the guy they brought in as a special team only
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: guy lining up incorrectly on a kickoff. Okay, yeah, how
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: about that.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: I haven't read about it.
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: I haven't read about any of these things. Just so
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: you know, I haven't read about any of these things.
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: I read that time Montgomery has the longest kick return
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: in the league so far, and I and I read
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: about Brandon's school is slingshot play. That's kind of cool,
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: But that's that I don't I don't read any of
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: the things that have gone wrong so far. You know,
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: your punter is like a net average of like thirty five. Like,
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: I haven't read about it. I haven't read about any
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: of this.
- 1:18:07Speaker 5: Has he been that bad though? That's I don't really know.
- 1:18:09Speaker 5: He's been very inconsistent.
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: Now some of the in fairness, i'll answer my own question, please.
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: I often get get accused of only selling half the story.
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: Some of that is he's had a lot of plus
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: plus fifty punts, so his net average is you know,
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: you get a touch back here or there on a
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: you know, from the fifty and that that hurts your average.
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: But he has been a little inconsistent punting.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: Jared solid Hey, Jared.
- 1:18:34Speaker 13: What's going on? Everybody?
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: Hey, real quick?
- 1:18:40Speaker 13: The what is it the field goal trick that they
- 1:18:43Speaker 13: tried with Schooler or they did with Schooler. I wasn't
- 1:18:46Speaker 13: as impressed with it as everybody else, just because there's
- 1:18:50Speaker 13: normally something we're doing Madden. Granted it worked, it was cool,
- 1:18:54Speaker 13: but I wasn't as excited or like, oh my god, I.
- 1:18:57Speaker 11: Can't believe they did it like everybody else.
- 1:19:00Speaker 13: My question to Evan and Paul, what do you guys
- 1:19:06Speaker 13: think about the Patriots defense doing that with the defensive
- 1:19:10Speaker 13: end stunting him like that?
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: Yep, what do you think? I don't know what the
- 1:19:14Speaker 4: quick like stunting? I missed the beginning of the question
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: as I was trying to figure out what will.
- 1:19:21Speaker 13: Brand ran in from the stat.
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:19:25Speaker 13: What do you think about the defensive ends doing that?
- 1:19:29Speaker 13: When these quarterbacks do their rollouts and things like that.
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: But wouldn't you just run right around him?
- 1:19:38Speaker 13: No? Not really.
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: If there's a guy from the outside running as hard
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: as he can to the inside, wouldn't you just fake
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: and go right around him? Like he's running to the inside,
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: I'm running to the outside. How's he gonna get me?
- 1:19:50Speaker 13: If you if you're if you're faking the handoff, doing
- 1:19:52Speaker 13: your read to your running back, and then you're rolling out,
- 1:19:55Speaker 13: you are now blind. You can't see nothing behind me.
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: Oh you're talking about from the blind side.
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: Yeah, either way, both, But how.
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: Do you know which way the play is going to
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: go before you set that up?
- 1:20:09Speaker 13: That's what film session tells you.
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: No, it doesn't. Teams run to different different directions and
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: they get to.
- 1:20:17Speaker 13: More than likely and state when it's gonna happen.
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: Though fall Well, okay, then do it. I mean, I
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: don't know what to tell you. I don't know. I
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: guess Bill Belichick doesn't know anything about defense because I've
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: never seen him do that, like just run a guy
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: wildly off the sideline and then he's just getting the
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: inside and hope that they don't run it that way. Like,
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: I don't know why. I don't really see how the
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: risk reward there pans out. I just run right by
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: him every time, I.
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: Mean, unless it was like third and long and you
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: want to get him a running start. But even still, it's.
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: Just seems the field goal thing was brilliant. Like I
- 1:20:47Speaker 4: cannot say enough about that field goal block. I'd never
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: seen anything like it.
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: It was just brilliant.
- 1:20:53Speaker 4: And what made it even better perfectly Bingo Freddie had
- 1:20:57Speaker 4: the The execution of it was just off the I
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: just think that's so hard. Is it a unique thing
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: to knowing the snake? It could be. I think that's
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: part of it too. But I also think they tried
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: it again and it didn't. I mean, whether it got
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: in his head or not. Yeah, I mean, I think
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: you can make the argument, but you can see that
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: like it was a kind of a once in a
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: blue movie, kind of a again. I mean, to marry
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: all of those elements together. I just I can't say
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: enough good things about it. And if it was Joe Judge,
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: that's all responsible for it. I give all the credit
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: to Joe Judge. Like to me, it was just a
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: brilliantly executed play. I just don't I don't know if
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: you can do that on defense, And I'll respect.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Ray and Pennsylvania says again, I really don't have anything
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: worthwhile to add except my favorite calls, except a request
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: from the boss man Fred when you do your Toyota
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: ad read, can you hit us with a Brady Worthy.
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: Let's go places, JESU. That's good.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: Maybe I never know anyway, I'm predicting it upset here.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: The game ends with a final score of Cowboys twenty
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: one Patriots twenty four. I feel like the Nobody is
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: Coming slogan unites us for all of two games this
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: season before we drop off again.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: I'll come on, don't play us like that. I think
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: if the Patriots beat the Cowboys on Sunday, it would
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: be a game like that. Yeah, no, yeah, that's that's
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: that's where I'm low twenties.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: Of course, Lucas isn't taunting. What's up, Lucas, What's going on?
- 1:22:26Speaker 13: Guys?
- 1:22:27Speaker 22: I'm meant to call in earlier this week, and I
- 1:22:29Speaker 22: think it's a little late in the refer a debate
- 1:22:32Speaker 22: like this, but with I was speaking Cowboys, Steph Gilmore
- 1:22:35Speaker 22: seeing him again, Who is the best free agent? You
- 1:22:39Speaker 22: think of this like, you know, the last couple of
- 1:22:43Speaker 22: years that would be brought in because you know, Judon
- 1:22:45Speaker 22: made the play last week. You know, obviously Steph Defensive
- 1:22:49Speaker 22: player of the year. You know, those are the two
- 1:22:51Speaker 22: that come to the top of my mind, just each
- 1:22:53Speaker 22: of you. Top free agent signing.
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: Yeah, recently, I mean, I think it's hard not to
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: be Gilmour, But Judon has been outstanding.
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: I mean, I just I think post Brady, I don't
- 1:23:03Speaker 5: know where you'd be without jude On.
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: I mean both on the field and off it post Brady.
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: It's it's jude On, but Gilmore. I don't know who
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: else would really be in the running.
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: I mean, Revis was here for a year.
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: I see what you did there, Well done? All right,
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: So real quick, before we get to the jingle, I
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: want to ask Evan the question. So we had a
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: caller that just brought up the field goal block. Yes,
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: Why would do you think it would be plausible to
- 1:23:40Speaker 4: do something like that on defense? Like have your defensive
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: end go out wide and bust it into the inside
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: and then you know, you chase down the ball carrier
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: from the backside.
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I see what you're saying. I guess so, yeah,
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: I mean it more recepted to it than I am.
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: You wouldn't affect your gap integrity. I think you're taking
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: yourself out of the play if you run that side.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: That's possible. I mean I wonder about it from like
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: like a blitz perspective, like GIF you know it's going
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: to be a pass right because gap integrity if you
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: you know if you're a pass anyways, because you're facing
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: like a mobile quarterback, then maybe you don't want to
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: do that. But if you're facing a guy that's just
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: a sitting duck in there, I mean, I guess.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: But the other thing is like we talked about the
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: timing right and it might have been a Jake Bailey
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: thing that they knew, you know, how his operation works,
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: so you could time it. But I see, I feel
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: like if you have this defensive end coming from the outside,
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: all the quarterback has to do is delay the snap
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: and now the guys at a standstone, or.
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: You could say yeah and get an off side play.
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: You know how many times did he come up with it?
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: You get blitz? Too many just come running up and
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: if if he didn't time it right.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: Well, there's too many things that can go wrong on that.
- 1:24:50Speaker 17: It would look off when they're lining up, Like I
- 1:24:52Speaker 17: feel like the offense would be like, okay, something's weird.
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: Yeah lining up right now? The off sides, yeah, that
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: would be.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: Either that you do a quick snap and you catch
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: him with the guy way out there. You know, like
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: there's too much.
- 1:25:05Speaker 18: I think it works on a kick because you have
- 1:25:07Speaker 18: to snap it back. You have to place it.
- 1:25:09Speaker 17: Well, that's the thing, you know, it gives them enough
- 1:25:11Speaker 17: time to make that much they couldn't.
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: Do it, and it really works.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: It was Yeah, on the kicking operation. They it's like
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: they do the same thing every time to make sure.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: But in this case there's too much in the quarterbacks
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: control where they can screw you up.
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: They might, you might get him on it once, but
- 1:25:27Speaker 5: it's hard to think you could make that a consistent
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: element that you're going to like.
- 1:25:30Speaker 4: Once the team saw it once, they'd be like, be
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: aware of this. I mean they do it. I just
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: do a hard find it hard to believe that every
- 1:25:36Speaker 4: time they run to play, you know exactly what the
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: play is.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: But you know, he is Bill, what's that supposed to mean?
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: He's pretty good at He's pretty good at defense.
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: I just look like the way I guess I guess
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: Bill Belichick, like you know, the greatest defensive mind of
- 1:25:54Speaker 4: our time, has never done this. But I guess he's
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: just overlooking. I don't know. I just don't think it's
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: all that.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: My favorite questions at the at his press conferences and
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: myself included this has happened to me before, where he's like, well,
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: I don't know. Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing,
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: or like, you know, like do you ask him about like, oh,
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: why don't you guys do this? And You'll just be like, oh,
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: maybe I just missed out.
- 1:26:14Speaker 4: It's just the way I'm doing it. I'm sure other
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: people do it a different way.
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: What do I know. I'm just the greatest head coach
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: of all time.
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: Von writes in I want to give him and his
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: flowers when it comes to scouting players, Charlie Jones looking
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: real good in Cincinnati. He looks explosive on punt returns.
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: The Patriots definitely missed on him.
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: He's a good put you to.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: Be in the draft room.
- 1:26:38Speaker 4: No, well, there was a guy for the Giants that's
- 1:26:40Speaker 4: made some plays that you don't like, and that's Hyatt. Yeah,
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: I for them.
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: I didn't like him for us because of his route
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: running issues that I don't know if he would have
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: been a really good fit here with the Patriots. But
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: Charlie Jones, it was a great fit for the Patriots.
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: The other night. He gave them a lift in that.
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean he talked about like.
- 1:27:00Speaker 4: He was thinking it because I remember you were on it.
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: We we've talked about it, you know before, but like
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: you can't criticize the Christian Gonzalez pick our our you know,
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: NFL Rookie of the month, but those.
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: Other NFL.
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: And the two rounds two through four, and you look
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: at guys like Charlie Jones, you look at guys like
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: Dwan Jones, like he could have had those guys instead
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: of Jake Andrews or Chad Ryland or whatever, and you
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: know that's that's where the critique of their draft has
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: to come from.
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: I felt like Charlie Jones was like average white guy
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: until he ran at the combine and then everyone was like,
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: oh yeah.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: All right, Eric is.
- 1:27:40Speaker 15: Heaven.
- 1:27:55Speaker 5: It's Evan, not Eric, thank you, especially we had Eric
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: come back to do it.
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: He has no idea who of all things, I don't know,
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: Just don't call me Ethan. Then my uncle will come
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: here and Ethan be pissed.
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: There were players out there.
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: I do still watch the news.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: There was some guys the practice that all the talk
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: all week was like a certain guy's ankle or something
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: like that. And then first question, so Eric, how was
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: I really didn't see I wasn't looking for him, Like okay.
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: Nope, I'd like to say that that's an exaggeration, but
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: it's not. It would have been like last year when
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: Mac was out there coming off his high ankle sprain.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: Every time, I don't know, look, I wasn't looking at him.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: Oh no, what are you looking at all?
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: Go ahead, That's why I'm here now, right anyways, perfect
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: attendance again for the Patriots out there today in a
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: shorts and shells kind of day. On Thursday, we did
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: have a little bit of extra time today, extra time
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: a little bit, a little bit.
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: Maybe we're out of the doghouse.
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: Maybe maybe might put me back in the find out.
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: I'll say this, I wouldn't be surprised if the Patriots
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: have a different starter along their offensive line, sons.
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: That Mafi or Calvin Anderson.
- 1:29:13Speaker 3: I'm gonna that's I wouldn't be surprised.
- 1:29:17Speaker 4: Going to keep it to yourself, be surprised.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: I just look, I we're not supposed to report on
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: like the configurations and things like that. I will say
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: it that way, and then we can give it some
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: breathe a little bit, and then we can go into
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: some of the different combinations for that.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: Okaywidgels already has well if.
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: They if they've already tweeted it, then then then it's
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: fair game. But it's not going to come from me. Good,
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: that's good.
- 1:29:42Speaker 4: That's exactly the way they want us to do it.
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: So Mars is still yelling at PFF.
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: So he didn't really know you, Yes.
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: Yep, and uh, you know, I did get a little
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: look looks at Devine Godshaw. He was doing the blocking
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: sh you know, Darryll slied, thank you, I shedding the sled. Yeah,
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: and uh and.
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: You're thinking blocking Chanel as his wife, who's an internet model.
- 1:30:09Speaker 4: No, no, no she's not. She's a film star.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: She's on EDS at the s show.
- 1:30:17Speaker 4: She's the internet version of Victoria's Secret. This show left
- 1:30:20Speaker 4: the rails.
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: Anyways, Devon got y'all looked good. I thought he looked
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: good hitting the sled, and uh, you know, I also
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: thought that Jonathan Jones is running around a little bit
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: out there as well, So that was that was good too.
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: But there was a change on the offensive.
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: All right, you teased it, all right, it's like someone
- 1:30:39Speaker 4: else performance related maybe a combination of bullet interesting.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: All right, listen, I'm feeling good about this game.
- 1:30:49Speaker 4: I am two fred I mean and I want to
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: get hurt again.
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: I want to You're not gonna bring me down.
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: No, nobody's gonna.
- 1:30:55Speaker 5: I wanna. I want a big win in Dallas, right
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: in Jerry world, the big robin in his face and
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: leave with Zeke, leave you a big deal alone.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Oh my god, how was the media?
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: You know what it was? It was hotter out there.
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: Then we all dressed for that's not good.
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: People were upset about that.
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: You know, this morning when we all when we left
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: the house, it was you know, high the low sixties,
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: so it's a little bit chilly. And now we get
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: out there around noontime, one o'clock and and you know,
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: we're all in long sleeves and we're all a little.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Hot, a lot of sweating body odor.
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: Not good, not good, yeah, not great.
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: Where do you when you go out for these practices?
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: Where do you watch it from?
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: So we're on the upper fields right now, so like
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: where the training camp tent is, but like down the hill,
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: like we don't have to stand on the top of your.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: Field level field level, yes, yeah, And are you corralled, yeah?
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: They you know, you can walk up and down and
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: sometimes the quarterbacks will be throwing on the other field. Well,
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: the stretching is going on, so some of the camera
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: people will go over there to shoot Mac, you know
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: from head on.
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: But does everyone tend to stick together? People just spread?
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: Yeah, we stick together. But the problem is is that
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: we all take attendance separately. So sometimes like you're hearing
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: a lot of numbers, like from different voices, and you're
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: just trying to you know, check off. You know, I
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: check off and people read numbers to me. That's that's
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: how we do it, and me and Barth and you know,
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: sometimes like somebody else might be on a different you know,
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: sorry to the field, and they're reading their numbers and
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: we're reading our numbers. So there's a lot of numbers.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: Is it true that Mike Reese climbs a tree and
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: watches from a branch?
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: Sometimes No, but uh, I always love the Mike Rease
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: practice playlist tweet. That's always good and only Mike Reese
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: can do that. I've gotten the wrath. It's definitely not
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: a rule, but it's an unwritten rule.
- 1:32:54Speaker 5: I did it once for him in Vegas last year
- 1:32:56Speaker 5: because he wasn't there, and I like asked permission.
- 1:32:58Speaker 4: I'm going to do the playlist st right and he's like, Okay, did.
- 1:33:00Speaker 17: He do it the other day though, when we had
- 1:33:02Speaker 17: them play Marcus Jones.
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: Yeah, And so I actually saw him actually walking out
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: of practice and I said, hey, you know that that
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: first song was actually that was a Marcus Jones joint.
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: And he was like, oh, thanks for the joint, Thanks
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: for the head Jones joint.
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: Thanks.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: That's up, all right, good stuff. That's your practice report
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: from Evan. We need a sponsor for that, Matt.
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: I know, I don't really think Matt's in charge of.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:33:31Speaker 5: Did you see that picture when he's got his gun
- 1:33:34Speaker 5: and everything.
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: He looks like a bad ass. Speaking of Mark Daniels,
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: he did just tweet something about the offensive line that
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: practically I could read people tweet.
- 1:33:44Speaker 4: Someone tweeted something.
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: We saw a few minutes. This from Mark Daniels, not
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: from Evan. We saw a few minutes of practice. Cole
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: Strange looked limited. I could see someone like Antonio Maffi
- 1:33:55Speaker 3: starting at left guard on Sunday.
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: I could see.
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: So he's basically very so missus ester House.
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: So that's that's poor to me. Yeah, yeah, like that's
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: I'm afraid to report on a formation. But this is
- 1:34:07Speaker 4: how I'm gonna do it. Yeah, hey, we're just reading
- 1:34:10Speaker 4: a twek.
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: They won't like that, but you know, let him do it,
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: you know, stuffer the consequences. All right, we gotta hurry. Uh,
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: we'll start with tonight on first.
- 1:34:21Speaker 4: Of all, what happened last week?
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: Please, I gotta feel like Paul had a good week.
- 1:34:31Speaker 5: Yeah, he's a little he's a little peacocking right now.
- 1:34:34Speaker 4: I feel I told you yesterday to Monday two words
- 1:34:38Speaker 4: market correction, and that is exactly what happened. Paul thirteen
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: and three, followed by Alex good job Alex twelve and four,
- 1:34:48Speaker 4: Mike and Fred eleven and five.
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: And I don't normally come in last place nine and seven.
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: I don't normally come in last place.
- 1:34:57Speaker 4: Never now and then with the spread be better. I
- 1:35:01Speaker 4: was better here Paul twelve and four, followed by Mike
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: and Alex at Noine and seven and Evan and Fred
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: at seven in Noine.
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: Oh not good, tough week.
- 1:35:14Speaker 4: So I still built myself a pretty big hole here,
- 1:35:18Speaker 4: dug myself, I should say. So, I'm still behind, but
- 1:35:21Speaker 4: it's getting closer. Fred thirty four and fourteen, Mike thirty
- 1:35:25Speaker 4: one and seventeen, Paul and Evan twenty nine and nineteen
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: and Alex twenty eight and twenty. So I am back
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: in the game, which is nice spot at the table. Okay,
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: with the spread. Fred has the lead at twenty seven
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: twenty and one, followed by Mike twenty five twenty two
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: and one, Paul twenty four twenty three in one. Didn't
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: take long to get back over five hundred noticed that,
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: uh and Alex and Evan twenty three twenty four and one.
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: But we're fine.
- 1:35:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I was. I was in danger of losing sight
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: of the pack, so I needed needed that week.
- 1:36:00Speaker 17: You're traveling, I've had the pleasure of sitting home on
- 1:36:03Speaker 17: my couch for these away games, so I get to
- 1:36:05Speaker 17: actually watch football all day.
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: I know, That's what's tough. It is tough, like not
- 1:36:10Speaker 3: to say that that's why I'm doing bad, But like
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: you know, Fred and I we we don't really watch
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: anybody else besides the Patriots, like you know, we.
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: Were Yeah, but I just have to you know, Paul
- 1:36:20Speaker 5: and we got red zone going, but I can't keep
- 1:36:22Speaker 5: track of that.
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: All right, tonight on Prime Video the two and one
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: Lions at the two and one Packers.
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: I like this game. It's a fun game.
- 1:36:31Speaker 4: Lions by two, fun game, fun game, Lion's favorite at
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: green Bay.
- 1:36:37Speaker 5: That's interesting to me. I wish I had a sense
- 1:36:39Speaker 5: of how healthy green Bay was better. But they they
- 1:36:43Speaker 5: came back last week. That was quite the comeback.
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm gonna go with Detroit. What the heck
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: lay the.
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: Points said, all these positives, I know.
- 1:36:51Speaker 4: I just changed right there, Jay Karon Jones is playing.
- 1:36:54Speaker 4: According to the NFL, I like Detroit.
- 1:36:59Speaker 18: I like how golf is fitting in there. I'm gonna
- 1:37:01Speaker 18: take Detroit as well. Keep it going.
- 1:37:04Speaker 3: I'm taking the Pack and the upset. I like how
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: Jordan Love has looked. Yeah, I think he's He's been
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: pretty good, pretty high, and they are getting Christian Watson
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: back according to the reports, Dogs to the Pack.
- 1:37:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I've I think both of these teams have played
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: reasonably well, but I think Detroit's better and I will
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: take the Lions.
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: I am going to take the Lions as well. I
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: think they're a solid team. Like last year, was it
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: a fluke. I think they're a solid team, and I
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: think Packers are still a team in transition.
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: I mean they were gifted a game last week with
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: an injury.
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: Uh okay, So we have our first international game Sunday
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: morning at nine to thirty of Toy story stream from London.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: Is that right?
- 1:37:49Speaker 18: Yeah, there's gonna be a toy story stream.
- 1:37:51Speaker 17: They're going to simulate little cartoon avatars of the players
- 1:37:55Speaker 17: that are going to be doing like the real live
- 1:37:58Speaker 17: motion of what the players are doing on the field,
- 1:38:00Speaker 17: and it's gonna be like a toy story field.
- 1:38:01Speaker 18: I'm excited.
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: Are you gonna be this game, Buzz light Year.
- 1:38:07Speaker 17: I don't know how they would do that, because then
- 1:38:08Speaker 17: there'd probably be some like it's unfair who gets to
- 1:38:11Speaker 17: be Buzz?
- 1:38:11Speaker 15: Who gets?
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: I would rank Toy Story number one out of the
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: Disney movies from our operation movies.
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: I have often thought, who you know who would play
- 1:38:21Speaker 4: you in a toy story? Know who would be interested
- 1:38:23Speaker 4: in that? I found out Alex she can't.
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: Wait children under yes obviously or under thirty because you
- 1:38:30Speaker 3: know it's the two.
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: Two Jaguars Jaguars by three.
- 1:38:38Speaker 4: Jaguars. Gosh.
- 1:38:40Speaker 5: I went with Atlanta last week because I hope for
- 1:38:43Speaker 5: more from them. I'm gonna take Jacksonville this week on
- 1:38:46Speaker 5: the road in London, bounce back game for them.
- 1:38:51Speaker 18: Points Jaguars both ways.
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: I don't know what's going on with your boy Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: I know he hasn't looked great and the Jaguars in
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: general are very confusing team to me right now. That
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: lost Lack of the Week was bad. I don't know.
- 1:39:05Speaker 3: I don't know where to go with this game.
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: It's a tough one.
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the Jags. I just think they travel
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: a little bit better than the Falcons in this situation,
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: but I don't like it. Yeah, I agree with Evan.
- 1:39:15Speaker 4: I don't know what to think of Jacksonville, and I
- 1:39:17Speaker 4: didn't think they were great, but I thought they were
- 1:39:18Speaker 4: better than this, and he hasn't really looked like himself.
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: But I'm going to take Jacksonville.
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: I agree with everything you guys just said, but I'm
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: gonna go with the Falcons. I think, you know, they're
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: playing better. I think the Jaguars might get better as
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: the season goes on, but right now they're not playing well.
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: So I'm gonna take the Falcons, all right. We go
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: to one o'clock. The three and oh Dolphins are at
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: the two and one Bills.
- 1:39:46Speaker 4: Buffalo by two and a half. That's a great game
- 1:39:49Speaker 4: for obvious reasons.
- 1:39:50Speaker 5: I mean, it's it's exciting to watch, and I'm gonna
- 1:39:53Speaker 5: go with Miami on the road. I mean, I don't
- 1:39:56Speaker 5: expect seventy points out of them, but I just think
- 1:39:58Speaker 5: they're playing great urging. I think they've got enough firepower
- 1:40:02Speaker 5: to kind of go back and forth a little bit
- 1:40:04Speaker 5: with Buffalo, who I don't think will roll over. But
- 1:40:06Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with Miami on the road and I
- 1:40:08Speaker 5: will take those two and a half.
- 1:40:10Speaker 17: Yeah, it's a shame, this is a one o'clock game.
- 1:40:12Speaker 17: I'm gonna go with the Dolphins as well.
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: For the upset, I'm taking Miami too. I just can't
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: see a defense. It's going to stop that offense right
- 1:40:20Speaker 3: now until somebody gets hurt or something happens with that group.
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: I have a feeling me and Paul, you're taking the Bills.
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: I am meat YEP, I knew it. I knew it.
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: What's your reasoning, I think they're better? Yeah, it's not really.
- 1:40:33Speaker 4: I mean I might be wrong, but I don't have
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: any insight.
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the Bills are going to win this
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: game easily.
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: Are you thinking, Oh no, No, I think it'll be
- 1:40:42Speaker 4: a shootout. Now do you make the last play?
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: Not easily? What is it two and a half? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: I'll so it's two and a half. So really it's
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: minus a half because you get three.
- 1:40:58Speaker 4: I was waiting for Evan tells you every week that
- 1:41:00Speaker 4: that's not true anymore. I figured the fact that Evan
- 1:41:02Speaker 4: was telling you, man, you might actually believe it.
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: But I'm just letting him go from now on.
- 1:41:07Speaker 4: So you're taking Buffalo.
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: I'm taking Buffalo, and I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: Okay, yep, uh the O three Vikings again, he's the leader.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: The three Vikings are at the O three Panthers win Minnesota.
- 1:41:24Speaker 4: Man, that's toss somebody four and a half.
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: Somebody hates their defense. I don't know, man, I gotta
- 1:41:31Speaker 5: go with Minnesota. I guess on the road. I don't
- 1:41:33Speaker 5: feel great about it. I know it's a Kirk Cousins
- 1:41:35Speaker 5: one o'clock game, so they I'll go with Minnesota, and
- 1:41:39Speaker 5: I'm gonna lay.
- 1:41:40Speaker 4: The points too.
- 1:41:42Speaker 17: I'm going with Minnesota. I feel like they have to
- 1:41:44Speaker 17: win one at some point. This seems like as good
- 1:41:46Speaker 17: of a time as ever. Get them the points too.
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: Yeah, Vikings, Vikings just they're better. They are better for
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: this team.
- 1:41:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree, and I'm gonna take Minnesota, but I
- 1:41:58Speaker 4: will take the hook and I will take Carolina to cover.
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Vikings both ways. They cover one
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: o'clock Owen three Broncos at the Three Bears.
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: Road again, another road game for the Broncos. This is
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: a weird spread to me. This shows you how bad
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: Denver is a road favored by three and.
- 1:42:22Speaker 15: A half after being salac Yeah, the Bears are bad.
- 1:42:26Speaker 4: I don't know how you pick this game. It's like
- 1:42:28Speaker 4: who co. I'm gonna flip a coin in my head,
- 1:42:31Speaker 4: I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go with Denver, but I'm
- 1:42:34Speaker 4: gonna take the hook.
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: See now, if Denver had been the team that had
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: Joe Judge's T shirt with that saying, that would make
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: sense to me, right.
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: You know, I still wouldn't like it, but it would
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: make more sense. I agree with you it really.
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: They really don't like the T shirts.
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: Just catch it catchphrase.
- 1:42:53Speaker 18: I like it if it's private or not on a shirt, like,
- 1:42:57Speaker 18: just say it amongst yourself.
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: You don't need to it on the wa Larry Bird's
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: not walking through that door door.
- 1:43:05Speaker 17: Tom Brady morepped I'm gonna take the Broncos and I'm
- 1:43:08Speaker 17: gonna give the Bears the points.
- 1:43:10Speaker 15: Split it fifty.
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: fIF I'm going to do the same thing because both
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: these teams stink.
- 1:43:15Speaker 4: We're all We're all doing it the same way. I'll
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: take the hook to Denver, but I'll take the points.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Bears. Bears, take the Bears.
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: I hope you're right, because I wouldn't mind seeing Sean
- 1:43:26Speaker 4: Payton go when seventeen after what he said before the season.
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: One o'clock, the two and one Ravens are at the
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: two and one Browns.
- 1:43:34Speaker 4: Brown's by three, round by three.
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: Interesting and who somebody owns somebody in this matchup, Paul.
- 1:43:40Speaker 4: No, but all the Ravens are hurt, so I don't know.
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: I don't know if any of them are coming back
- 1:43:46Speaker 4: this week.
- 1:43:47Speaker 5: Now, I gotta watch more Cleveland, but I'm gonna take
- 1:43:49Speaker 5: Cleveland at home.
- 1:43:50Speaker 4: I'll lay the points.
- 1:43:53Speaker 18: I'm gonna take Cleveland too, both ways.
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: One of the bigger upsets of the week last week
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: Colts over Ravens and overtime. I'm gonna take the Browns.
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: Their defense is legit. They put it all together there.
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: It's not just Miles Garrett anymore.
- 1:44:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and I will take Cleveland too. I'm a little
- 1:44:09Speaker 4: worried evidently Deshaun Watson hasn't done any throwing. He wasn't
- 1:44:13Speaker 4: hurt his shoulder last week because he finally played a
- 1:44:16Speaker 4: good game and now it can have nice things. Yeah,
- 1:44:19Speaker 4: if he doesn't practice, But I will take the Browns.
- 1:44:21Speaker 4: I think the Browns right now anyway, are better than Baltimore.
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: Large slate of one o'clock games, I'll take the Browns.
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: Let's go to one o'clock. Two and one. Steelers are
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: at the one to two Texans.
- 1:44:38Speaker 4: Pittsburgh by two and a half. Man, there's some really
- 1:44:42Speaker 4: bad games this week that might be one in Buffalo
- 1:44:45Speaker 4: stands out.
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with a not an upset,
- 1:44:52Speaker 5: but I'm gonna go with the home team. I'm gonna
- 1:44:53Speaker 5: go with Houston and player Rookie of the month offensive CJ.
- 1:44:58Speaker 3: Stroud, NFL Ropy, AFC South, look at you.
- 1:45:03Speaker 17: I will also go with the home Dogs, and they're
- 1:45:06Speaker 17: promising young quarterback.
- 1:45:10Speaker 3: Well said, I do like what ce Stroud has done,
- 1:45:13Speaker 3: but I think Kenny Pickett has also played pretty well.
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: Liked what I saw from him last week, I'm taking
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: the Stillers and I will take them to cover.
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: Yes, I'm taking Pittsburgh two. And for a similar reason
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: that Evan just said. I thought in the second half
- 1:45:27Speaker 4: last week Pickett found a little something and got a
- 1:45:30Speaker 4: little comfortable and Pittsburgh's offense actually started to move the
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: ball a little bit. So I think there's some talent
- 1:45:35Speaker 4: there for Pittsburgh.
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to take the Steelers as well. One o'clock.
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: The one and two Rams are at the two and
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: one Colts.
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: The Rams by one one Indy a little bit surprising
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: minchew mania.
- 1:45:51Speaker 5: Yeah, Minshew only does his win uh ish, you don't
- 1:45:55Speaker 5: want to look that up.
- 1:45:57Speaker 4: I'm just saying in theory, all he does is play hard.
- 1:46:00Speaker 4: I'll give him how he does put up plastic stats
- 1:46:02Speaker 4: give him that. Well, I don't think it's gonna be
- 1:46:05Speaker 4: enough this week. I'm going to take the Rams on
- 1:46:06Speaker 4: the road. A'll lay the point.
- 1:46:08Speaker 18: That's why I.
- 1:46:11Speaker 3: Like the Rams. I like them to cover. They're a
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: good team, not a great team, but good team. Pooka
- 1:46:15Speaker 3: agreed Evan and I are lock Steff this week. I
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: think the Rams.
- 1:46:21Speaker 4: I don't know if you know, but I'm coming off
- 1:46:22Speaker 4: at thirteen and three, twelve.
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: And four, we I know, but if we both see
- 1:46:26Speaker 3: it the same way, then I don't know, it could
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: turn for him.
- 1:46:29Speaker 4: I have the Rams.
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: Folks are the Colts for real? I mean, what's going
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: on with them? We all thought that they were tanking
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: for Marvin Harrison Junior, but here they are winning games.
- 1:46:40Speaker 3: Is it possible that can you say the freaking coaches
- 1:46:43Speaker 3: last name skiking sky stick? Is it possible that he
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: is actually really good? Because the Eagles offense has been fine,
- 1:46:49Speaker 3: but it hasn't been what it was last year when
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: he was the coordinator, So I wonder if if he's
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: actually kind of a maestro.
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: I'm going to go with the Rams, but I'm gonna
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: do it with a lot of hesitation.
- 1:47:05Speaker 5: Cambling Carlan's thing again, Yeah, your hesitation level.
- 1:47:08Speaker 4: We actually got Evan's snort left on that one.
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: The one o'clock two and one Buccaneers are at the
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: two and one Saints.
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: Orlands by three.
- 1:47:21Speaker 4: Jamis time that Jamis's music. Yeah. They said that Derek
- 1:47:25Speaker 4: Carr is likely to be out hold up the wh man.
- 1:47:30Speaker 5: And this is at home to you know what, I'm
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: gonna go with good old Jameis Winston.
- 1:47:33Speaker 4: He had the Lasik. He's been waiting in the wings.
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: I feel great.
- 1:47:36Speaker 3: That was a Megan never remember Megan O'Brien.
- 1:47:39Speaker 4: It's gonna be good this year.
- 1:47:40Speaker 18: You could see I was on the same way as her.
- 1:47:42Speaker 3: Honestly, I was like.
- 1:47:43Speaker 15: It's gonna be.
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: Him staring at the scoreboard, like you can tell her
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: what it's.
- 1:47:49Speaker 4: Like me doing. That's his face.
- 1:47:54Speaker 3: I would say this though, there's nothing better than them.
- 1:47:55Speaker 5: When they show his like training footage and he's like
- 1:47:57Speaker 5: doing his thing and like there's a guy hitting him
- 1:47:59Speaker 5: and he's like doing this though, always cracks me up.
- 1:48:04Speaker 4: Just pull the video up, you'll know what I'm talking.
- 1:48:07Speaker 18: James in the Saints.
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: Both ways, I'm taking the Bucks. I like the Bucks.
- 1:48:13Speaker 3: I think they're they're a little a little scrappy.
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I have been a little surprised by them, but
- 1:48:19Speaker 4: I will take the Saints.
- 1:48:20Speaker 3: So now you can feel better and we disagree. There
- 1:48:22Speaker 3: we go.
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: Let Baker Bake taking the Buccaneers. Why why is that
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: a chock?
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: You love Baker?
- 1:48:29Speaker 18: Yes, I've been riding them all year so far.
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: You guys can just be good for the league.
- 1:48:34Speaker 17: Because he always mentions Baker and it being exactly good for.
- 1:48:37Speaker 4: The league clock nor he didn't say anything about the
- 1:48:40Speaker 4: last game that they played on o'clock.
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: The two and one Commanders are at the three and
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: oh Eagles.
- 1:48:46Speaker 3: Biggles by eight. It's a big spread, big spread.
- 1:48:49Speaker 5: That is a big spread. Eman and uh and that's
- 1:48:51Speaker 5: a that's a division game. I'm gonna take Philly, but
- 1:48:53Speaker 5: I'm gonna take those points for the Commanders.
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: I'm gonna take those points.
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: Take them me too.
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: Yeah, me too. Commander's defense is good. I don't think
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: that they're going to get blown out in this game.
- 1:49:05Speaker 18: And I also think getting screwed by these big spreads.
- 1:49:09Speaker 4: Yeah, and I also think the division part of it
- 1:49:11Speaker 4: is important. That they used to playing against the Hurts defense.
- 1:49:15Speaker 4: I think they beat him last year. They did, Washington
- 1:49:17Speaker 4: beat him. I will take Philly to win, but I'll
- 1:49:19Speaker 4: take the points.
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a points lock game. Uh so you
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: want to take the Commanders to not lose by eight points, but.
- 1:49:29Speaker 4: The Eagles another chapter in the book.
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: I'm just listening to Paul.
- 1:49:36Speaker 4: I was laughing on that one.
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so Eagles win, don't cover Uh still one o'clock.
- 1:49:45Speaker 4: These are all one that only nine it's a regular
- 1:49:53Speaker 4: one o'clock.
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: The one of two Bengals are at the one of
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: two Titans.
- 1:49:58Speaker 4: Uh, Bengals by two and a half.
- 1:50:00Speaker 5: Yeah, so I saw Joe Burrow is off the injury port.
- 1:50:03Speaker 5: That kind of surprising, right, Yeah? Like please, that feels
- 1:50:05Speaker 5: like some BS trap. Yeah, he was keep dreaming Bengals.
- 1:50:12Speaker 5: But I'm still gonna I'm gonna take the Bengals though,
- 1:50:14Speaker 5: I'm gonna take them against Tennessee.
- 1:50:19Speaker 18: I'm just gonna stare at this all day. Bengals flip
- 1:50:22Speaker 18: a coin.
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: I gottam and I kind of want to take the
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: Titans in this game. Rabel against the banged up Bengals quarterback,
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna take the Titans.
- 1:50:34Speaker 4: He's teased it and now he's doing it.
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:50:37Speaker 4: I'm gonna take the Bengals. I think they looked a
- 1:50:40Speaker 4: little bit more like themselves last week. It's obviously gonna
- 1:50:44Speaker 4: be huge with that calf though, I don't buy that
- 1:50:46Speaker 4: off the injury report nonsense.
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: But I'll take Cincinnati.
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: If there's one coach that will leverage another team's injury,
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: it's Mike Rabel. He's gonna send send these guys right
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: at him. Get that calf, Get that calf taking the
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: Titans with Evan taking the Titans. All right, Now we
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: moved to four o five. The one and two Raiders
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: are at the one and two Chargers.
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: Black by five and a half.
- 1:51:13Speaker 5: Five and a half doesn't look like Jimmy will go.
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: It also doesn't think that Shandler Jones is gonna go.
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: Jesus so unexpected.
- 1:51:27Speaker 5: That's like that sources are saying, I'm gonna take the
- 1:51:32Speaker 5: Chargers at home.
- 1:51:33Speaker 4: I'm gonna take the sources. I g I'm gonna take that.
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: Twitter.
- 1:51:36Speaker 18: Don't forget Twitter.
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: Everyone pray for Chandler Jones. I hope he's all right.
- 1:51:42Speaker 5: I took the Charges, but I'm gonna take the points
- 1:51:44Speaker 5: for Vegas. I think it's a close divisional game.
- 1:51:46Speaker 4: That was the backup quarterback though for the Raiders.
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: That would have helped if I asked O'Connell.
- 1:51:50Speaker 4: Oh, Alex, Alex bart is in here somewhere six six.
- 1:51:55Speaker 3: Years We saw him at the Shrine Bowl. He kept
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: as told me that that he stinks. Now, I'm just kidding.
- 1:52:02Speaker 4: I saw him.
- 1:52:03Speaker 3: I saw him at the Shrine Bowl and then he
- 1:52:05Speaker 3: had a pretty good preseason.
- 1:52:06Speaker 4: Also, he had a very good preseason.
- 1:52:08Speaker 3: Yeah, there was some some chatter that that he was
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: better than Jimmy in the preseason.
- 1:52:13Speaker 4: I think might have some pushback on that. But let's
- 1:52:15Speaker 4: say I like Aidan O'Connell. Of course he's older than Jimmy,
- 1:52:19Speaker 4: but anyway, he played six years, just took his time
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: to boiler.
- 1:52:27Speaker 18: I picked the Chargers and I'm going to give them
- 1:52:29Speaker 18: the points.
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: I'm going to take the Chargers both ways as well.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: I think the Raiders are ready to let go of
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: the rope.
- 1:52:35Speaker 4: I do think so too.
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: And the way of putting it.
- 1:52:39Speaker 4: Yeah, and I'll tell you the decision to kick that
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: field goal I think resonated in the locker room.
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: B Josh is in a lot of trouble. I will
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: take the lock.
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: You know. And if it's true that Josh McDaniels truly
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: did have Hernandez killed, that's that's big news.
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: That would be that would be really bad.
- 1:52:57Speaker 5: But in an industrial park, so that really messes up
- 1:52:59Speaker 5: the timeline. Yeah, come to believe that Aaron Harn's fascinating
- 1:53:02Speaker 5: hardware out.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: And yeah, just kidding, look at this.
- 1:53:07Speaker 5: I shouldn't I shouldn't gid about who's at Gilbert Brown,
- 1:53:09Speaker 5: Gilbert Brown.
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to take the Chargers to cover, not
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: talking about us.
- 1:53:14Speaker 4: No.
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: Now we go to four to twenty five, the one
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: and two Cardinals are at the three and oh forty.
- 1:53:20Speaker 4: Nine Ersers by fourteen fourteen points? What point one?
- 1:53:28Speaker 5: Well, we've talked a lot about Arizona this week, right,
- 1:53:30Speaker 5: and I mean they've they've had some some nice plans.
- 1:53:33Speaker 5: I don't know if they can do that against what
- 1:53:35Speaker 5: was the God of Friends of recordating?
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: Same? Do you have that down yet?
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: No?
- 1:53:38Speaker 4: I went to was from Wellson.
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: We know his whole life story, except.
- 1:53:45Speaker 4: His name is not important.
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: You had it pets Kings, Petsing, pets That sounds right.
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: I'm going to take San Francisco and I'm gonna lay
- 1:53:54Speaker 4: the points. I think the Arizona gets rolled.
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: San frans good Drew Petsing.
- 1:53:59Speaker 18: Yeah, Niners Niners.
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the Niners both ways too. I do
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: kind of want to take the Cardinals cover, but I
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: think last week was like that. You know, they got
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: their one Super Bowl in there, and I think it's
- 1:54:12Speaker 3: back to normy.
- 1:54:12Speaker 4: I'm a little surprised that I'm taking the Niners both
- 1:54:15Speaker 4: ways too, but I thought sixteen. I thought a lot
- 1:54:17Speaker 4: of people, I mean fourteen points, I thought a lot
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: of people would take them. I feel like the Cardinals
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: have played really well and everybody's like, hey.
- 1:54:23Speaker 3: Yeah, they're better than we in reality check.
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: You know what I'm buying it take the Cardinals to cover.
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: I like it.
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: But the forty nine ers win.
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: That's why Fred's the leader.
- 1:54:36Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: Now, we skip over the Patriots at four to twenty five.
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: We go to eight twenty on very Shire. The two
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: and one Chiefs are at the one to.
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: Two Jets, the two and one Taylor SWI yeah, we
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: got Taylor Swift in attendance.
- 1:54:51Speaker 4: What do you got never going to go to the
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: Kansas City by noine and a half, No one and
- 1:54:55Speaker 4: a half.
- 1:54:58Speaker 5: I'm definitely gonna take Kansas City here, and yeah, I
- 1:55:03Speaker 5: just I gotta lay those points. I think it's they've
- 1:55:06Speaker 5: got some good mojob with Taylor Swift going right now,
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: and I think they're they're gonna win by more than ten.
- 1:55:12Speaker 18: Yeah, they might even have like a home field is distracted.
- 1:55:16Speaker 4: I could have gone to Kelsey's distracted route all.
- 1:55:18Speaker 3: The Swift using.
- 1:55:22Speaker 18: Game tickets.
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: You want to play well, you don't get distracted when
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: the girls in attendance you want to show.
- 1:55:28Speaker 4: Well, I don't know, looking up into the stands, like
- 1:55:30Speaker 4: where is she?
- 1:55:31Speaker 3: It's always it's like in an NBA game when like
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: Rihanna is there right there, and every every player is
- 1:55:36Speaker 3: just like dropping forty.
- 1:55:39Speaker 4: Young young Will Pelo did not perform well with his
- 1:55:41Speaker 4: girlfriend in the Tennants one game last year. I'll tell you.
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: That that's funny. Chiefs Chiefs. I like the Chiefs both
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: ways too. I don't feel bad for the Jets, but
- 1:55:53Speaker 3: like part of me does, like you know, it's just ya.
- 1:55:58Speaker 3: Part of me does.
- 1:55:59Speaker 4: I do feel because that's just miserable, Like and you
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: got it for like four plays. I don't know what
- 1:56:05Speaker 4: would be worse If you were like six and two
- 1:56:07Speaker 4: and it was working and then he got hurt, would
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: that be even worse? I think it was.
- 1:56:11Speaker 5: Because then then you really knew, like we're onto something,
- 1:56:14Speaker 5: we're excited, and then it gets I think this one
- 1:56:16Speaker 5: you never really had a chance to get excited.
- 1:56:17Speaker 3: I don't know, but I like I compared it like
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: the only thing we have is like oh eight, right,
- 1:56:21Speaker 3: and like that just knowing the Seaton like they ended
- 1:56:24Speaker 3: up being scrappy like they won eleven games, but like,
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: knowing the season was over a quarter into the season
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: was so brutal.
- 1:56:30Speaker 4: But at least for the Patriots, they had all that
- 1:56:32Speaker 4: success and it was like, oh, we're not going to
- 1:56:33Speaker 4: win a fourth one right away, you know, like the
- 1:56:35Speaker 4: Jets haven't been good in forever.
- 1:56:37Speaker 5: Yeah, some unfinished but like forty two felt like you
- 1:56:40Speaker 5: lost that one, Like, let's get back.
- 1:56:41Speaker 4: You got most of the same guys. Oh yeah, no,
- 1:56:43Speaker 4: it's Evan's right. It sucked.
- 1:56:44Speaker 3: You want to see mad the season was over that day. Yeah,
- 1:56:47Speaker 3: Blane was like, well maybe he'll come back this year. Like,
- 1:56:49Speaker 3: you don't understand that Jo stopped even even the host
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: Blaine was like, okay, so bad watching football.
- 1:56:58Speaker 4: You're throwing stuff at that's easy. Back up me in
- 1:57:00Speaker 4: trouble And the first TUNABWL, I was throwing pillows around
- 1:57:03Speaker 4: and yeah, the first time I didn't stay with that
- 1:57:07Speaker 4: pretty close. Of course, the city both I was a
- 1:57:10Speaker 4: new dad by about three days.
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: I will also God say Kansas City both ways. But
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: if you really believe the Patriots are going to go
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: on that roll, you kind of want the Jets to
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: win for seating at the end.
- 1:57:19Speaker 4: Of the year, chess.
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: No, I think, I don't get any.
- 1:57:25Speaker 4: The jets of the division team. Aren't you rooting against
- 1:57:28Speaker 4: the division team?
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: No, but they're they're going to be a non factor. Oh,
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: we're talking about.
- 1:57:33Speaker 4: Over Kansas City, but they're a non factor.
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: Talking about overall seating. Let's see Monday night, eight fifteen,
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: the two and one Seahawks are at the one to.
- 1:57:43Speaker 4: Two Giants, Giants by one one.
- 1:57:48Speaker 3: God, I don't know.
- 1:57:49Speaker 4: I'll take the Giants at home lay the point.
- 1:57:52Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:57:54Speaker 18: I'm going to take Seattle. I don't know why.
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: I'm taking Seattle too. Gino Smith and that whole story
- 1:58:02Speaker 3: of like his career resurrection is a great, great story.
- 1:58:06Speaker 3: I'm taking Gino.
- 1:58:06Speaker 4: I'll take the Giants.
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Seahawks. Giants are in trouble. They're
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: in trouble. They got a quarterback who's really not that good,
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: and they lost Barkley. I'm taking the Giants. All right.
- 1:58:19Speaker 4: Now we go think Barkley's playing.
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: Oh, he's playing.
- 1:58:22Speaker 3: He's back.
- 1:58:22Speaker 4: I think so.
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:58:24Speaker 3: I don't think it's for certain, but I'm gonna stick.
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: I'll stick with Seattle anyway. All right, Now we go
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: back to the Patriots at four to twenty five.
- 1:58:33Speaker 4: I forgot about that.
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: The one to two Patriots are at the two and
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: one Cowboys.
- 1:58:39Speaker 3: Barkley is making progress.
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: Is the latest taking progress?
- 1:58:43Speaker 4: Okay, I'm sorry, Dallas by six and a half.
- 1:58:46Speaker 5: Six and a half. All right, I'm doing it. I'm
- 1:58:48Speaker 5: switching my pick from early week. I'm gonna take New England.
- 1:58:51Speaker 5: I'll take those points not getting over twenty five, but
- 1:58:54Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Patriots twenty four to twenty three.
- 1:59:00Speaker 3: That means they have a twenty four nothing lead.
- 1:59:05Speaker 18: Patriots twenty one, Cowboys seventeen.
- 1:59:10Speaker 3: Oh I turned. I think I turned everybody. I have
- 1:59:14Speaker 3: been saying the Patriots are gonna win this game all week.
- 1:59:16Speaker 3: I am sticking with the Patriots twenty to seventeen. And
- 1:59:20Speaker 3: the Patriots get their signature win.
- 1:59:24Speaker 18: They could mess around.
- 1:59:25Speaker 4: Yes, Evan has swayed me as well. I entered the
- 1:59:30Speaker 4: week and I picked on Monday, I picked the Cowboys
- 1:59:34Speaker 4: to win thirty four, picking the Patriots thirty four seventeen.
- 1:59:37Speaker 4: I have now amended that to the Cowboys twenty seven seventeen.
- 1:59:40Speaker 3: Okay, I like that.
- 1:59:41Speaker 4: Taking a touchdown away.
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: I like that, But you still have the I still have.
- 1:59:45Speaker 4: I still have Dallas whin okay twenty seven seven, Little faith,
- 1:59:48Speaker 4: it's nothing to do with faith, Yeah, I it's logic.
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: Patriots both Ways twenty seven, twenty twenty seven.
- 1:59:57Speaker 3: They're gonna score twenty seven points. I do declar that
- 2:00:00Speaker 3: going to be awesome, Evan.
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: Eventually they got they got a breakout of it.
- 2:00:04Speaker 3: I'm for it. I just I'm for it.
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: I think it's great. Just remember, no one's coming. No
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: one's coming.
- 2:00:12Speaker 3: It isn't it dope? So maybe fast track we should
- 2:00:16Speaker 3: put shirts.
- 2:00:20Speaker 4: Waiting outside the team hotel to catch the team playing,
- 2:00:23Speaker 4: and like, no one is coming.
- 2:00:26Speaker 3: I don't know what you're waiting for. No one's coming?
