37 00:03:04,000 --> 00:03:08,000 So my wife got me one for Christmas, it's still sitting in the box 38 00:03:08,000 --> 00:03:13,000 Okay, so I have an Apple watch that I wear religiously and I wear it at night 39 00:03:13,000 --> 00:03:19,000 And I'll tell you why because several years ago, I pretty sure I told the story on the podcast 40 00:03:19,000 --> 00:03:31,000 My honeymoon, I got really, really sick, food poisoning, and one of the things that stood out to me on my Apple watch was I had measures of wrist temperature 41 00:03:31,000 --> 00:03:39,000 And my wrist temperature was plus like 4.44 degrees from my baseline, basically I was shivering 42 00:03:39,000 --> 00:03:47,000 And Saturday night, I was watching a collision and I stayed up a little bit to watch 43 00:03:47,000 --> 00:03:54,000 What, there was something like sporty to bet on, I don't know, maybe one of the NFL games I was watching, maybe Diner's Seahawks 44 00:03:54,000 --> 00:04:03,000 And sorry about that, and I'm sitting there and I'm going like, damn, it is freezing in this room, like it's our heat not working 45 00:04:03,000 --> 00:04:12,000 And it was cold here, it was like in the 20s, it was a cold night here and I was like, oh god, our heat, so I put up the heat a little bit more 46 00:04:12,000 --> 00:04:21,000 And I went to bed and I woke up feeling ill, whole night yards, and to make a long story short, I checked my vitals 47 00:04:21,000 --> 00:04:31,000 So my heart rate was 30 beats per minute higher than the normal was, my respiratory rate was like 5 more than it normally is 48 00:04:31,000 --> 00:04:38,000 And my wrist temperature was 5.2 degrees higher than my baseline, which is higher than my food poisoning issue 49 00:04:38,000 --> 00:04:44,000 So I said to my wife, I said, I think I'm getting the flu, like I think it's happening 50 00:04:44,000 --> 00:04:50,000 Everybody that's getting the flu right now, like it's just my turn and she's like, oh god, because I was like just exhausted 51 00:04:50,000 --> 00:04:52,000 My body would throw it 52 00:04:52,000 --> 00:04:56,000 And thankfully it was like just a 24 hour virus, in and out done 53 00:04:56,000 --> 00:05:02,000 But my wife kept getting sick, she had, she went to the doctor the other day 54 00:05:02,000 --> 00:05:05,000 And she had a sinus infection 55 00:05:05,000 --> 00:05:11,000 And now I woke up today with one of my nasal passages just completely congested 56 00:05:11,000 --> 00:05:13,000 I'm like, oh you got to be shitting me 57 00:05:13,000 --> 00:05:17,000 I mean, this is just like every couple of days somebody's getting sick 58 00:05:17,000 --> 00:05:21,000 And my son had a cold that became a group 59 00:05:21,000 --> 00:05:24,000 So I think he gets it from his cousin, gets it from his wife 60 00:05:24,000 --> 00:05:31,000 And he does go to like a lot of the local things around here, whether it's like the Children's Museum, Aquariums, whatever 61 00:05:31,000 --> 00:05:35,000 To hang out and I think a lot of parents don't give a shit about their kids 62 00:05:35,000 --> 00:05:39,000 So they just, like, oh you're sick, let's go out here and get everybody else sick 63 00:05:39,000 --> 00:05:43,000 So yeah, that's been my three weeks, it's been fun, it's been fun 64 00:05:43,000 --> 00:05:50,000 I wanted to ask you this, this is kind of a segue in it, because you mentioned that Luke and you guys take a Luke out everywhere 65 00:05:50,000 --> 00:05:55,000 How much free stuff have you guys gotten from Luke, or because of Luke so far? 66 00:05:55,000 --> 00:05:57,000 Like what do you mean free stuff? 67 00:05:57,000 --> 00:06:00,000 Like so, like going out to dinner or something? 68 00:06:00,000 --> 00:06:04,000 Yeah, like people just giving you guys stuff because Luke is so cute 69 00:06:04,000 --> 00:06:10,000 Yeah, that's happened before where it's like we get like a dessert at a local restaurant or something like that 70 00:06:10,000 --> 00:06:15,000 That's happened, they're like, oh you're adorable, here you go, and it's like really? 71 00:06:15,000 --> 00:06:17,000 Yeah, it's happened 72 00:06:17,000 --> 00:06:25,000 So like Sammy's been given money from people, like just give him money, like yeah, like a couple Halloween's ago 73 00:06:25,000 --> 00:06:33,000 When he dressed up as Mario, we went into like an Applebee's and some guy or some lady came up and goes, my husband says that this is the cutest little Mario 74 00:06:33,000 --> 00:06:36,000 He's ever seen, does he have his Halloween basket on him? 75 00:06:36,000 --> 00:06:41,000 I'm like no, or inside Applebee's like we're not trick-or-treating the restaurant 76 00:06:41,000 --> 00:06:51,000 And she goes, well here, happy Halloween and handed him money and then this week alone, like the wife and I took him out, we went to like a little Chinese restaurant, like a little Chinese buffet 77 00:06:51,000 --> 00:06:58,000 Some lady paid for half our meal because me and Sammy had a really funny interaction 78 00:06:58,000 --> 00:07:05,000 And I do this all the time, like he'll say something and I just kind of stays in smart-ass mode with him the entire time 79 00:07:05,000 --> 00:07:09,000 Just like asking him questions about why he said this and people always kind of giggle 80 00:07:09,000 --> 00:07:19,000 And then last night we were driving home and he wanted chicken nuggets and french fries for dinner and I wanted, I was like well okay well for doing fast food you can have that 81 00:07:19,000 --> 00:07:27,000 I'll get subway because like I said, trying to eat a little healthier and the girl in subway gives him a free cookie and a free soda because he's so cute 82 00:07:27,000 --> 00:07:40,000 And I looked and I said dude, I hate you, he was, he was dead, that's mean I'm like no, dad never got anything for free for being cute as a child 83 00:07:40,000 --> 00:07:49,000 This is utter total jealousy of how cute you are apparently because like it's at least once every two months 84 00:07:49,000 --> 00:08:04,000 Somebody either pays for our meal, gives him something for free, gives him money and I'm like all I can think of is when he's like 14 and 15 and like 18 and 19 year old girls are hitting on him 85 00:08:04,000 --> 00:08:15,000 And what my life will be like, like it'll be just yeah dad, no I got, like I'm pretty sure my kid will be the one that ends up in a police report because his teacher tried to seduce him 86 00:08:15,000 --> 00:08:24,000 That's how worried I am about this, like I'm going full blown like Jewish mother paranoia on this whole situation right now 87 00:08:24,000 --> 00:08:29,000 Well that's what I was gonna ask you, it's like at what point are you like this is that what age does it get creepy? 88 00:08:29,000 --> 00:08:33,000 Or it's like suck if my kid money for looking good 89 00:08:33,000 --> 00:08:42,000 I thought it was, so like when my daughter was born like I had people, and you may have had this too where people stop you and go oh my god that is the cutest baby I have ever seen in my life 90 00:08:42,000 --> 00:08:51,000 Yes, like it happened with my daughter up until she's about two or three and then after that I started getting into like you are not getting near my kid 91 00:08:51,000 --> 00:09:00,000 Like that that line was quicker with my daughter than it is with my son, but we take Sammy to rocket city in the like so we had the rumble this past weekend 92 00:09:00,000 --> 00:09:07,000 450 people came out for the rocket city rumble and the entire audience like if Sammy gets him to go somewhere 93 00:09:07,000 --> 00:09:15,000 They part like the red sea for him like they will make sure he has a clear path to get to whatever he needs to get to 94 00:09:15,000 --> 00:09:27,000 And the entire arena because they know like I'm on the opposite side doing announcing or I'm ring announcing like the people that have been regulars will watch him to make sure nobody messes with them 95 00:09:27,000 --> 00:09:39,000 He gets back to the announce table where he needs to be at it's like it's like having the Pope as a kid like people just make sure he's protected it all times it's kind of weird in a sense 96 00:09:39,000 --> 00:09:46,000 Yeah that is that's I don't know it's like it's like good for society right like that's an old school approach of things though 97 00:09:46,000 --> 00:09:50,000 It's the village you're helping raise the kid but the villager all idiots 98 00:09:50,000 --> 00:10:04,000 True yeah and the recent fans are screaming of said it isn't and having like really weird chance as well yeah I guess that is the beauty of wrestling fandom but yeah it's been it's been an interesting couple of weeks 99 00:10:04,000 --> 00:10:12,000 It's been a good couple weeks I hope everybody enjoyed the holiday programming schedule it was good to take a couple of weeks off from doing the regular show 100 00:10:12,000 --> 00:10:22,000 And just kind of enjoy the holidays with family and friends and I hope everybody got an opportunity to do the same while listening to new fresh episodes of SRT 101 00:10:22,000 --> 00:10:30,000 I always love doing this this past time in the year where it's like the recap award show and the preview are some of the most fun shows that we do throughout the year 102 00:10:30,000 --> 00:10:39,000 So if you have not an opportunity to download those shows I highly recommend that you do so with that said Dr. Trey let's get into some of the things that we missed 103 00:10:39,000 --> 00:10:51,000 Basically like bulleted points for this entire thing because it's not like your normal topics it's just basically what we missed while we were away during the holiday programming schedule 104 00:10:51,000 --> 00:11:01,000 And I think the first one is is one of if not the biggest news item over the last three weeks we have a new AW world champion and it is once again Maxwell J. Coup Freedman 105 00:11:01,000 --> 00:11:17,000 This is something that you and I would not have predicted three weeks ago let alone two weeks ago MJF is a two time AW world champion and the triple B is back around his waist your thoughts on the sudden title change from Samoa Joe to MJF 106 00:11:17,000 --> 00:11:23,000 Three weeks ago he wasn't even back in the company we thought he was still out filming stuff and then all of a sudden he shows up 107 00:11:23,000 --> 00:11:27,000 He's in the triple threat is now a four way his hair looks good 108 00:11:27,000 --> 00:11:38,000 His hair looks fantastic looks full the hair envy from Dr. Trey Franklin towards MJF is real he must have ate some good turkey at Thanksgiving 109 00:11:38,000 --> 00:11:53,000 Or be you know making his trips to Hollywood he gets some better nutrients or maybe he's maybe he's stealing some the pregnancy pills that have all the vitamin D and full like acid in them and it's causing the lusciousness of his hair to bloom 110 00:11:53,000 --> 00:12:05,000 I was really surprised like I'm like honestly I'm happy for eight of you because MJF is a is somebody you can actually throw out there in front of everybody 111 00:12:05,000 --> 00:12:17,000 He's one of the best interviews he's you know a good looking guy with great head of hair great wrestler he's one of the most marketable people in wrestling if you put the full marketing department behind him 112 00:12:17,000 --> 00:12:33,000 So I think it's a good move on that in but it is kind of like way are we doing the you know 1999 2000 maybe late not you know we're in WWE the title get passed around from triple H to rock to stone cult to undertaker to mankind like 113 00:12:33,000 --> 00:12:43,000 These are our top five guys and we're going to kind of pass the belt around because it kind of feels like that where we're not getting long title runs like hangman had an okay run 114 00:12:43,000 --> 00:12:55,000 It was like a month and a half and now we're at MJF like I'm not a big fan of hot potatoing the world title around especially to guys who've already had it you've already established those guys 115 00:12:55,000 --> 00:13:09,000 But it kind of feels like over the last three weeks they've kind of done a hard reset on their champions in the company and kind of focusing on the guys that they know are mainstream attractions and MJF is one of those guys 116 00:13:09,000 --> 00:13:26,000 And then there's no question about that however I think this will all work out but I just think in in the short scope of it the last time we saw MJF pre the return in London where he added himself to the world's end 117 00:13:26,000 --> 00:13:40,000 But triple threat match making a final four way was him taking it out in the what was it tables tax and that was like that wasn't TLC it was like tables tax and tax match was it a T and T match or something they call it 118 00:13:40,000 --> 00:13:52,000 Yeah tables and tax yeah so that's where he lost to Mark briscoe and that's where they kind of left it and he was off putting over Mark briscoe he was going to be away for the next couple of months 119 00:13:52,000 --> 00:14:16,000 I mean all that is now forgotten to me I'm not the biggest fan of the hot potato between hangman to some old Joe and then certainly some old Joe to MJF but I think what you put that aside starting the year with MJF's world champion is is a good move because he's a good antagonist he's a recognizable face the fans enjoy him and he's a guy they can really leave the company in the parts of 2026 120 00:14:16,000 --> 00:14:34,000 I would like to see a little bit more of a build towards the old MJF that we are currently seeing and the other thing too on the downside of this Dr. Tray and hopefully this kind of gets washed away pretty quickly is since MJF dropped the AW role title and I think you can make a case that since he had the AW role title 121 00:14:34,000 --> 00:15:00,000 all that momentum and buzz that he had leading up to becoming a never old champion really got washed away it was intermittently back on television some bad creative some creative that was hindered by injuries whether it was to him or Adam Cole and he was just in and out of the company filming and it wasn't the same buzz of MJF and then you can also make a case that the character kind of got a little bit flat and repetitive from this MJF that you saw in 2019 is the same as MJF and you can see that he was like, what is this? 122 00:15:00,000 --> 00:15:06,000 the MJF that you saw in 2019 is the same as MJF and you know J.R.A.F. 2026 123 00:15:06,000 --> 00:15:25,000 with that said I'm fine with it you got to move forward with it I didn't think some Ojo should be the guy with the AW role title for a long time but it was basically like whenever they wanted to do a transitional champion Tony Khan calls in Smogel to hold the title for a couple months or even a month to do that 124 00:15:25,000 --> 00:15:44,000 the Hagueman page I thought got ended page right got ended way too abruptly was not a fan of that but clearly AW wants to put its best foot forward here in 2026 and having a having a MJF is your AW role champion is certainly one way to do that because I thought they had a very strong 2025 as well 125 00:15:44,000 --> 00:16:12,000 yeah and it makes me wonder they're just trying to get to MJF and swork and because that's probably like your top baby face and your top heel at some point and it is a little bit of like you know rock and Austin in a sense of there's such two dramatically different characters that you want to see them fight at some point but you're right like sometimes I think Tony Khan mixes up the word Polynesian with the word transition 126 00:16:12,000 --> 00:16:41,000 like you're absolutely like it's like oh we got to get the belt off page but I don't want it to go straight to MJF hey let's throw Joe in the middle of it and then Joe can be the guy to get it from the guy we like to the next guy we like and not have to hurt them in the process like just because you lose a match is not mean you're getting buried or the fans are like going to be all after I we've seen that in WWE a lot or the last few weeks where titles is which hands and it doesn't kill the person 127 00:16:41,000 --> 00:17:10,000 taking the pin fall loss but sometimes and we saw this in the women's division with Tony storm and Chris that landed like Tony storm lost the belt in a four way you know so that way it's like oh well it doesn't hurt her as bad to lose in a four way it's like no sometimes it's okay to take a loss because that allows your character to kind of do something different coming out of it to then give him a new little take on their twist or a little twist on their character so it's just yeah 128 00:17:10,000 --> 00:17:24,000 I'm happy that's MJF because he's one of our favorite guys but it does kind of suck for guys like Joe where they're like hey you get the belt for a month take as many pictures as you can because you're losing it really soon afterwards 129 00:17:24,000 --> 00:17:44,000 and then we'll be back with another big news from a W all we were away John Moxley wins the 2025 continental classic it was a great tournament he becomes the AW continental champion he cuts basically a baby face promo at Worlds and post match and then goes back into his normal character 130 00:17:44,000 --> 00:18:13,000 the difference here is that the title is not locked away I really if we were living in a shell of we did a show right after World's and I would have been like this is great I think him turning maybe face maybe getting death writers baby face feuding with the Don Calis family that would be cool a direction that it could go they've kind of like dabbled with that a little bit a little bit of seeds are planted in there but basically death writers were back to the death writers of old since then Dr. Trey 131 00:18:13,000 --> 00:18:33,000 Moxley's booking during the tournament was really well done and would lead you to believe that he would be turning maybe face everything post has been very odd and now he is also a really bad chip tooth your thoughts as we have a new AW continental champion and a continental classic winner in John Moxley 132 00:18:33,000 --> 00:19:02,960 yeah I was totally surprised that Moxley won the whole thing but yeah with you like when you're watching this whole classic I kept going man you know pox looking really strong Claudios looking really strong like could we in Mox has started out kind of slow I think he dropped his first two matches in the continental classic so I was like maybe this could be a shake up and maybe the death writers fall under pox leader you know you see we pack leadership or Claudios leadership and Moxley goes baby face they would get that weird pro 133 00:19:02,960 --> 00:19:31,960 Mo where he's like thanking the fans and putting the fans over and putting over all the other competitors in the tournament and then we're right back to death writers I mean now I am interested like we saw you know a little bit like seed playing like you say with the downcast family but this whole angle or we might be getting the heart syndicate involved with the death writers like you give me Bobby lashley and John Moxley that's going to be really really physical I'm really looking forward to the Moxley Shelton Benjamin match 134 00:19:31,960 --> 00:19:52,560 coming up if you can add maybe one or two more guys in with the hearts indicate at some point to kind of boost them up give them some more people to kind of go into into war with the death writers I'm on board that because I think any of those Matt any of those combinations of Shelton with Mox Claudio 135 00:19:52,560 --> 00:20:21,560 pop Bobby lash you those guys like I'm all for those be some fantastic matches coming out of that yeah I think the death writers becoming baby faces would be something that I would start trying to direct towards slow build it a little bit because there are some loose ends that they are tying up with the Darby Allen pop stuff you know he even said like I can let the death writers go before I go to something else I need to finish this all up here the match with the wheel to you don't collision 136 00:20:21,560 --> 00:20:50,560 pocket dynamite I believe or it's coming up soon as we're recording this before dynamite on Wednesday night so it I don't know I felt like moxley was becoming sympathetic with the losses to Kylo Riley and then it's just been it's a little odd but we'll see where things go I'm trying not to play too much in a bubble here and we want to see how the long play is because I do feel like either moxley gets turned on by the death writers at some point or the death writers go without 137 00:20:50,560 --> 00:20:57,560 without too much between become maybe faces all I like how the hurts and it could did in a w for a period of time. 138 00:20:57,560 --> 00:21:09,560 I'm a real she's on a hashi retires at wrestle team 20 in a loss to a cos it's go cut a doctor tray I have not had a chance to watch the match yet but been a long time fan of watching ton of 139 00:21:09,560 --> 00:21:23,560 hashi matches if you've watched ton of hashi's in the 2010s to now it did certainly feel like he had lost a step over time the high five flow isn't as high as it used to be and he is certainly going out at the 140 00:21:23,560 --> 00:21:28,560 right time one of the all time greats in Japan not to try her oh she ton of hashi. 141 00:21:28,560 --> 00:21:39,560 Oh in my brain you when you said the hot the the the flies not as high five flow yeah it was like well if he's getting older the flow is not as strong as it used to be the 142 00:21:39,560 --> 00:21:50,560 three man with his older yeah ton of hashi the ton of hashi Jericho stuff is kind of what drew me to new Japan so and then I went back and watch 143 00:21:50,560 --> 00:22:03,560 stuff when he was younger and everything else like he's maybe the most flamboyant characters in Japanese wrestling history for a long time the you know oka 144 00:22:03,560 --> 00:22:15,560 ton of hashi was compared to seen an orton in new Japan so one of the best Japanese wrestlers of all time glad to see him kind of go out the match itself I went back and watch the match 145 00:22:15,560 --> 00:22:25,560 that was really was really good there you're right ton of hashi has lost a step but you know caught us kind of lost a step as well so the match itself lined up really good. 146 00:22:25,560 --> 00:22:35,560 But yeah it's and he's got a great position like he's going to be the president of new Japan so he's got you know something to go right into and sink is into his teeth into and is one of the best 147 00:22:35,560 --> 00:22:55,560 performers I think him at the hell of new Japan is going to be really good for the company as far as like as far as in ring performances and bringing people in I don't know how good his financial acumen is and hopefully they've taken that under consideration but I have really high hopes for a ton of hashi kind of running new Japan going 148 00:22:55,560 --> 00:23:05,560 forward. Yes so the Hiroshi ton of hashi air coming to an end new Japan is definitely in this spot right now where they are looking for a face and ace of the company. 149 00:23:05,560 --> 00:23:11,560 It'd be interesting what direction that they go because there's some guys that are coming up like Aaron wolf who are very in 150 00:23:11,560 --> 00:23:23,560 shaking cases and I mean they've lost so much talent to AW which was another discussion that took place over the last several weeks is there some new Japan guys that don't 151 00:23:23,560 --> 00:23:33,560 feel like the AW relationship has has played out as well as it could have which I do not disagree with whatsoever keeping with new Japan 152 00:23:33,560 --> 00:23:43,560 trade I feel like this was huge news because of how big they were I mean they are you want to talk about the heights of new Japan this is the reason why new Japan reached the heights 153 00:23:43,560 --> 00:23:54,560 was outside of their in-ring product at one point these shirts were in hot topic I don't know if they still are because I'm nearly 40 years old and I don't shop at hot topic anymore 154 00:23:54,560 --> 00:24:09,560 about two years ago I stopped I once I stopped getting the diamond-studded belts there shirt would be in the discussion with some of the most iconic shirts of all time whether it be the NWO Austin 316 D generation X I think you got to put the 155 00:24:09,560 --> 00:24:20,560 bullet club in their doctor tray and seamlessly the bullet club appears to be dead and ended basically a wrestle kingdom as there was I've lost track of the 156 00:24:20,560 --> 00:24:35,560 bullet club because it's like war dogs then there's like unaffiliated there's like no legit just flat out a bullet club anymore there was the House of Torchifer period time and it was like the subsets it was like NWO Hollywood NWO Japan 157 00:24:35,560 --> 00:24:46,560 and Wolfpack at one point but nonetheless it it feels like or basically was said that the bullet club club is dead I never thought I would see this day because I thought they were the most iconic 158 00:24:46,560 --> 00:25:06,560 stable group however you want to call for new Japan in history and they would just continue to add someone up at the top at the top at the top from Finn to AJ to Kenny J White over the years David Finley could have been a case for one that was leading it I feel like this is huge news because of how impactful they were but they've also 159 00:25:06,560 --> 00:25:16,560 died a slow death where it could easily fall through the cracks but it appears the bullet club is officially no more doctor tray. 160 00:25:16,560 --> 00:25:33,560 Like you think that it would be a bigger news story than what it was and maybe New Japan would hype it up a little bit more than they did instead it was just kind of like no all the guys were kind of left all kind of filtered into other 161 00:25:33,560 --> 00:25:53,560 other tables groups I mean New Japan is a lot like AW that they love their stables but you're right like to me I'm like that is kind of like the breakup of when the NWO officially ended it's like it went out with a whimper came in with a bang went out the whimper NWO kind of did the same thing 162 00:25:53,560 --> 00:26:12,560 that was never really an official announcements that the NWO was gone we saw them you know bring it back with what NWO 2000 when Jarrett was kind of running it and I just like DX is some other groups I think that this it's actually good in a sense that you can always cycle 163 00:26:12,560 --> 00:26:29,560 up in a few years and it will pop off really hot so it's sad when you go man there's no bullet club anymore but then you go man you know somebody could re re re christen it you know in a few years and it will be really hot again but one of the 164 00:26:29,560 --> 00:26:40,560 downsides of the way the wrestling world is set up is you don't get those like guys like you know AJ or somebody else coming free where you can cycle them into as the new leader 165 00:26:40,560 --> 00:26:57,560 like you just don't have that ability because nobody when they leave w or w is like super hot that new Japan can capitalize on and put him in that role like right now if you're to ask me like who are the last few members of bullet club I can throw a thinly and that would be about it so it did kind of 166 00:26:57,560 --> 00:27:21,560 die a slow death at the end there but you know nothing interesting is ever really dead this is true I mean just look at how many times DX in the NW okay back over the years in the four horsemen isn't on the one as well yeah I think it was like wild to think of like they just kind of died the slow death because of how popular they were in in the late 2010s 167 00:27:21,560 --> 00:27:50,560 and really kind of rejuvenated professional wrestling but I think it's it's kind of speaks to the current climate of professional wrestling which you were you know pointing to as well you know back in the day of when bullet club was hot there was no a w so independent wrestling was still very very big and when people were done with w we they had really nowhere to go other than like our way to the indies or new Japan and that's how bullet club was kind of featuring some of the members of the group and some of the leaders or even the tna's of the type because you know AJ made his way 168 00:27:50,560 --> 00:28:19,560 over there so it's I don't know it's kind of sad in a way but just it was like wow I just read this post it was basically saying like hey there's this new stable that was created that I can't remember off the time my head right now and basically like that puts it into the bowl club air and I was like wow that's that's how they went out bowl club went out like that after all those years so RIP to the BC bowl club 169 00:28:19,560 --> 00:28:36,560 Dr. Trey one of the people that you selected as a previous wrestler of the year here on the show is reportedly not renewing his contract and is set to leave WWE and that is one of the greatest annex he champions of all time in 170 00:28:36,560 --> 00:29:01,560 into moso champa how shocking surprising or sad is this news for you kind of all the above like it is kind of surprising because you know we always see him he was one of those triple H guys from NXT him and gargano had the great rivalry you know it always kind of felt like gargano was a Shawn Michaels guy and champa was the triple H guy in that kind of friendship 171 00:29:01,560 --> 00:29:15,560 pairing but it is one of these really looking okay where does he slot in is this a move where he can you know free up his time and you know I mean he's he's married he's got a kid you know can this he want to be like the super 172 00:29:15,560 --> 00:29:26,560 Indie guy because there is a slot open now apparently for super Indie guy who goes everywhere and does all kinds of crazy stuff and champa is known for being kind of that crazy guy at 173 00:29:26,560 --> 00:29:37,560 times does he look to go to a w but then where does he fall in because to me he's on the same level of Josh Alexander and Josh Alexander is not at the top of an a w card is 174 00:29:37,560 --> 00:29:49,560 Shopify being mid card in a w it is kind of just one of these was like man like you're choosing to go off on your own and not the security of WWE but the landscape is 175 00:29:49,560 --> 00:29:57,560 dramatically different but he would be one of those guys that you can look at and go hey he can go to Japan and run the Bull Club but there's no 176 00:29:57,560 --> 00:30:09,560 Bull Club now so maybe you just something else it's it's just surprising because at this point you kind of thought he was one of those life for kind of guys but you know we as we've learned 177 00:30:09,560 --> 00:30:17,560 that in a year and a half CKO has a budget for WWE and if you can't fit in the budget they're going to wish you the best on your future endeavors. 178 00:30:17,560 --> 00:30:34,560 Well not only that doctorate but I mean champa is believed to be a triple H guy I mean triple H gave him like a fair well I think it was like one of the first times if not the first time triple H was back on WWE television after his hard issues was after stand and deliver to give love to 179 00:30:34,560 --> 00:30:53,560 champa I believe following his match against Tony D'Angelo which would be his last official NXT match before going up to the main roster I mean chop a diver feel like he would become a world champion on the main roster no but there's always that glimmer of hope but I would have figured maybe intercontinental champion United States champion 180 00:30:53,560 --> 00:31:17,560 work from there I felt like the stuff with DIY was good when they had the opportunity perform the tag team division in WWE has gone absolutely nowhere over the last several months which is extremely disappointing and hopefully the usos hold on the titles on the raw brand is is a way to rejuvenate that doctor tray but that was extremely disappointing I know everybody's like well maybe he'll end up in a w I think 181 00:31:17,560 --> 00:31:40,560 I think chap is taking a break which is one of the things that is being reported out there I I can see chip up performing more on independent wrestling the independent wrestling scene that I wouldn't a w I can see him popping up in like game changer wrestling or like all throughout the country for a little bit I know he's he's a little bit on the older side he's got a young daughter I'm sure he wants to be home he's probably made his money done pretty well for himself 182 00:31:40,560 --> 00:31:55,560 I think he's more inclined to do indies again rather than hop back in a w but I do think he is back in WWE at some point I just I cannot see him not back in world wrestling or table because I think he is again a triple age guy 183 00:31:55,560 --> 00:32:24,560 I mean triple age went to visit him in the hospital after he had that neck that really bad neck surgery I mean they they were super close but like we saw with our truth like there's a budget in place and if and if you're not you know if you're not a good return on the investment they're going to kind of see what if you can go to your stuff like I to me like he would be one of those guys that like if I was running an independent show and you know I had a guy that was kind of on that cusp of breaking through 184 00:32:24,560 --> 00:32:52,560 Chomp as a guy I would bring into work my top guys you know like he's in and and we've seen like through the Matt Cardona runs the AJ independent runs the Cody independent runs like there is a market for that for being that top guy who just travels around the country and it gives you that freedom to kind of pick and choose what you want to do I can also see Champa going back home and opening up a school with somebody else 185 00:32:52,560 --> 00:33:16,560 and kind of running his own wrestling school because he eats breeds and lives professional wrestling for anybody who's ever met him or come across and like the guy loves the sport is that now and that would give him the freedom to spend time with his family with his wife and his kid and then also take bookings at his leisure and then eventually I'm with you I think eventually he ends up back in WWE. 186 00:33:16,560 --> 00:33:45,560 Yeah I mean his career did not just start in like NXT he's not like an NXT guy I mean this this is so money that I watched at our eight shows in 09 in 2010 and he had been performing way before that in the Northeast and the Massachusetts area so if you want some time off great maybe he does pop up in a W who knows but I think he's more of an indie guy makes a little bit money gets a little bit of a refresh maybe because the Matt Cardona round a little bit gets some momentum and speed up on the independency and then returns to WWE down the road because I do feel like he's more of a 187 00:33:45,560 --> 00:34:01,560 WWE guy than someone that would pop up in AEW. Dr. Tray just mentioned them the Usos defeated AJ styles and drag and Lee also known as the tag team AJ Lee to win the World Tag Team Chip Chip on the last raw of 2025. 188 00:34:01,560 --> 00:34:08,560 The Usos are back in charge of the tag division on the raw brand Dr. Tray your thoughts. 189 00:34:08,560 --> 00:34:37,560 It's a little bit confusing like I don't know how you feel about it's look Jimmy and Jay when you see him together it's great they're arguably one of the greatest tag teams of all time but like you know this whole main event J push and then the break not the break but the mental break he had after losing the LA night and all these seeds of planting for him to maybe turn EO like is that all tight in the 190 00:34:37,560 --> 00:34:53,560 tag team. Are we getting Jimmy and Jay at WrestleMania again you know or like does it come to a head some other point and then we go a different route like on one hand it's great because like you said earlier having the Usos at the top of the tag team 191 00:34:53,560 --> 00:35:04,560 vision makes everybody else have to step their game up to keep up with those guys and maybe breathe a little life into the tag team division but what does that mean for the Jusso 192 00:35:04,560 --> 00:35:11,560 because I think you and I talked about this for I like Jimmy on the mic better than Jay. 193 00:35:11,560 --> 00:35:25,560 Jay's just a flashier in ring performer than Jimmy and he happened to get a catch phrase that got over better than just about anything else and wrestling since the yes chance. 194 00:35:25,560 --> 00:35:37,560 So it's it's a confusing thing for the Usos but like I'm excited to see if that means hey we're getting the war Raiders back on TV are we getting you know are we going to get some more cross over 195 00:35:37,560 --> 00:35:44,560 tag team. I just could get the the motor city machine guns they're not doing anything I want to see the most machine guns and the Usos go at it I want to see the 196 00:35:44,560 --> 00:35:54,560 profits and the Usos go at it again like I want to see some tag team wrestling out of this but I'm also confused about what you're doing with Jusso in the long run. 197 00:35:54,560 --> 00:35:58,560 All right Dr. Trey switching gears to NXT. 198 00:35:58,560 --> 00:36:10,560 Feehale won the women's NXT North American championship in a botch move over Blake Monroe and then she ends up dropping it to Izzy Daymont Tuesday night and NXT's New Year's evil. 199 00:36:10,560 --> 00:36:13,360 And then she's going to get the 200 00:36:13,360 --> 00:36:14,560 new year's event. 201 00:36:14,560 --> 00:36:16,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 202 00:36:16,560 --> 00:36:19,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 203 00:36:19,560 --> 00:36:21,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 204 00:36:21,560 --> 00:36:23,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 205 00:36:23,560 --> 00:36:25,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 206 00:36:25,560 --> 00:36:27,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 207 00:36:27,560 --> 00:36:29,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 208 00:36:29,560 --> 00:36:31,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 209 00:36:31,560 --> 00:36:33,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 210 00:36:33,560 --> 00:36:35,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 211 00:36:35,560 --> 00:36:37,560 And then she's going to get the new year's event. 212 00:36:37,560 --> 00:36:42,560 I thought getting an North American title off Blake Monroe is the right thing to do anyway because 213 00:36:42,560 --> 00:36:45,560 she was your big free agent acquisition last year. 214 00:36:45,560 --> 00:36:50,560 And this allows you to start moving your up towards the top of the card as well. 215 00:36:50,560 --> 00:36:52,560 And it's our challenger for the AC women's title. 216 00:36:52,560 --> 00:36:59,560 So it's a bad situation that does have some silver linings coming out of plus. 217 00:36:59,560 --> 00:37:04,560 The inhale winning the title was kind of a feel good moment and kind of gives a little bit of credibility to her character. 218 00:37:04,560 --> 00:37:08,560 Because she's one of the most entertaining women on that roster. 219 00:37:08,560 --> 00:37:13,560 But she just never felt like she would win the big win a win a title. 220 00:37:13,560 --> 00:37:18,560 The fact that she got to hold it for a little while is a feathered her cap as well. 221 00:37:18,560 --> 00:37:22,560 There's some rumblings right now that Blake Monroe may be getting called up from NXT. 222 00:37:22,560 --> 00:37:26,560 Javan Evans signed with RAW officially. 223 00:37:26,560 --> 00:37:31,560 Smackdown got trick Williams Jordan Grace has been called up. 224 00:37:31,560 --> 00:37:35,560 She'll be signing with you to Smackdown a Raw but it appears she'd go in Smackdown. 225 00:37:35,560 --> 00:37:38,560 There's a big one that we'll talk about here in just a little bit. 226 00:37:38,560 --> 00:37:43,560 So there seems to be some some tides changing in NXT. 227 00:37:43,560 --> 00:37:49,560 Dr. Trey Becky Lynch defeats Maxine DePri and regains the Women's WWE Intercontinental Championship 228 00:37:49,560 --> 00:37:52,560 of the RAW at 2026 debut. 229 00:37:52,560 --> 00:37:57,560 Your thoughts as big time backs as now a two time champ? 230 00:37:57,560 --> 00:38:01,560 Thought it was the right thing to do. 231 00:38:01,560 --> 00:38:06,560 I mean I like Maxine DePri but in rings she still playing catch up to everybody else on that roster. 232 00:38:06,560 --> 00:38:12,560 It was a feel good storyline, a feel good moment for way Maxine won. 233 00:38:12,560 --> 00:38:17,560 But when you have something like Becky Lynch on your roster and Charlotte Flair falls into this category too, 234 00:38:17,560 --> 00:38:20,560 the greatest of all time. 235 00:38:20,560 --> 00:38:25,560 You really need them doing something important otherwise why are you paying them a bunch of money. 236 00:38:25,560 --> 00:38:29,560 You're in contention in the picture in a good storyline. 237 00:38:29,560 --> 00:38:36,560 And this also sets up Becky and AJ for Down the Road because eventually they're going to have their big blow off match in the real AJ League. 238 00:38:36,560 --> 00:38:45,560 Not the tag team that Jeff mentioned earlier featured in a Magic as Becky Lynch for a title is kind of what WWE would want to do. 239 00:38:45,560 --> 00:38:49,560 So I thought it was the right move to make and I thought it was a damn good match. 240 00:38:49,560 --> 00:38:52,560 I thought this was what I said earlier, even in loss. 241 00:38:52,560 --> 00:39:00,560 I thought Maxine DePri looked good in that match. So it still builds her character up even though she lost in her continental title. 242 00:39:00,560 --> 00:39:07,560 Maxine DePri has certainly came a long way. My only issue with that match was that she literally turned her head and watched herself get pinned. 243 00:39:07,560 --> 00:39:10,560 I don't know what she thought as she was in an ankle lock. 244 00:39:10,560 --> 00:39:15,560 What she thought the three count was for but a funny moment. 245 00:39:15,560 --> 00:39:18,560 Still a little bit of green around the edges but she has certainly come a long way. 246 00:39:18,560 --> 00:39:25,560 CM Punk retains against Braun Breaker on the RAW 2026 debut. There's some Braumelines out there that both these guys got injured. 247 00:39:25,560 --> 00:39:28,560 Some concussions are being discussed. 248 00:39:28,560 --> 00:39:33,560 Thoughts as punk regained against the future, Braun Breaker. 249 00:39:33,560 --> 00:39:38,560 I thought it was a damn good match. I really enjoyed it. 250 00:39:38,560 --> 00:39:46,560 But you watch one thing with Braun Breaker and I don't know if we've ever talked about this is the fact that he goes so fast. 251 00:39:46,560 --> 00:39:56,560 He's so fast and so explosive does lead to some mistakes that can be made because you're just moving at such a breakneck speed. 252 00:39:56,560 --> 00:40:02,560 It does kind of be yourself up like that need to the head on the on the spear. 253 00:40:02,560 --> 00:40:09,560 I mean that looked really really stiff and then we had the botched Frankenstein or Spongebob or things. 254 00:40:09,560 --> 00:40:17,560 Sometimes you're like, "Man, guys, I know that you can just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do something." 255 00:40:17,560 --> 00:40:24,560 But they lie of hyping up that he's basically 23 miles an hour running the ropes and how fast and how explosive that is. 256 00:40:24,560 --> 00:40:26,560 But overall, I thought it was a damn good match. 257 00:40:26,560 --> 00:40:33,560 And then this also kind of like Braun's taking the loss, opens up the window for does the vision turn against Braun? 258 00:40:33,560 --> 00:40:43,560 And we start getting that Braun babyface push coming out of this. So it'll be interesting to see what happens on next week's raw with the fallout from Braun taking the loss to see him. 259 00:40:43,560 --> 00:40:48,560 Yeah, I was making a case over the last couple of weeks that I think Braun Breaker should win this match. 260 00:40:48,560 --> 00:40:55,560 I think as I watch the match go on, he gets the L. This is the right call. I think this is like wet behind the ears. 261 00:40:55,560 --> 00:41:03,560 Doesn't really know how to handle the moment type stuff and that the next time he's in the ring for a World Championship match, he learns from it and gets a World title run. 262 00:41:03,560 --> 00:41:08,560 I highly believe that he will be a World Champion this year at some point in WWE. 263 00:41:08,560 --> 00:41:14,560 I'd be shocked if we go 365 and he doesn't become a World Champion at some point. 264 00:41:14,560 --> 00:41:22,560 Either something happened like an injury or they completely botched this because he isn't the verge of a massive breakout in 2006. 265 00:41:22,560 --> 00:41:27,560 And I thought that was the right first match between he and CM Punk. 266 00:41:27,560 --> 00:41:33,560 And then lastly here, Dr. Trey, Oba Febri retains the NXT Championship at New Year's evil gets Leon Slater. 267 00:41:33,560 --> 00:41:39,560 And then at the close of the show reportedly relinquishes the title leaves the ring. 268 00:41:39,560 --> 00:41:51,560 And Eva is talking to the Evolve roster saying there's going to be some openings in NXT and Robert Stone who I didn't know was still in NXT popped in and said, hey, did you just see what Alma did? 269 00:41:51,560 --> 00:41:55,560 Which I thought was hilarious because obviously she didn't because she's talking to people. 270 00:41:55,560 --> 00:41:58,560 And then they go to the World title being left in the ring in pan out. 271 00:41:58,560 --> 00:42:02,560 There's Tony DeAngelo who's just been staring at people the last six weeks. 272 00:42:02,560 --> 00:42:05,560 Seren in the ring at the NXT Championship. 273 00:42:05,560 --> 00:42:19,560 Dr. Trey, before I get your thoughts on this, I will just say I was not a big fan of this because if the plan was for Oba to relinquish the title, I think that you dropped the championship to TNA star Leon Slater in this moment. 274 00:42:19,560 --> 00:42:24,560 I don't think you go out with a win and say that's it. I'm done. I'm going to Raw or SmackDown. 275 00:42:24,560 --> 00:42:32,560 I would like to see that take place. But this is what we got. Your thoughts is Oba retains and reportedly relinquishes the championship. 276 00:42:32,560 --> 00:42:43,560 Well, I don't have a problem with them not putting the title on Leon Slater because technically speaking, he is a TNA contractor to wrestler and he hasn't officially signed with WWE yet. 277 00:42:43,560 --> 00:42:51,560 But for me, if you're trying to make an impact or try to make a statement, have Oba stand in the middle of the ring with his bell and go, look, I have conquered NXT. 278 00:42:51,560 --> 00:42:58,560 I have conquered everybody that throw my path. I need to go conquer the next, you know, you know, realm or region or whatever. 279 00:42:58,560 --> 00:43:08,560 However, his character wants to say it, I'm going to the main roster, you know, and I'll make my way, you know, whether they want to sign me or meet you as conquer everybody. 280 00:43:08,560 --> 00:43:22,560 You have something along those lines to kind of, you know, really emphasize the point that there's nothing left for Oba family to do in NXT and not just relinquish the belt in the ring off camera. 281 00:43:22,560 --> 00:43:32,560 That just seems kind of odd to me. So I would have rather like losing the belt to Slater makes sense on some levels as well. 282 00:43:32,560 --> 00:43:39,560 But if you're going to have them relinquish the title, just do it on camera so we kind of know what the plan is. 283 00:43:39,560 --> 00:43:45,560 And then I got really excited because that means they're going to have a tournament Jeff and Jeff loves some tournament wrestling. 284 00:43:45,560 --> 00:43:54,560 Yeah, who knows, what's the next pay-per-view vengeance day? So yeah, maybe it's a tournament, maybe it's a one-night thing, who knows. But yeah, I'm with you. 285 00:43:54,560 --> 00:44:01,560 It's like, like if he's going to that match and he's like, all right, I'm done at the end of this, like, why do we have the match then? 286 00:44:01,560 --> 00:44:08,560 It didn't make a lot of sense. It had been obviously feeling they've been running vignettes and packages for Oba family on Ron smack then the last several weeks. 287 00:44:08,560 --> 00:44:19,560 Coming out of the Saturday night's event that he'd be getting the call up, I felt like even if he retained, maybe he makes his way into the rumble as NXT champion and then one of the upcoming PLEs while still working on Ron Smackdown. 288 00:44:19,560 --> 00:44:29,560 He drops the title at an NXT PLE, which we've seen in the past as well. So odd way to do it, I kind of like him 50/50 in this because I would have liked to see it happen. 289 00:44:29,560 --> 00:44:46,560 But I liked the ending in the sense as well. We're left to left you with a cliffhanger. So the only thing I would have added in there Dr. Shreys is kind of what you're saying as well where he does the pose, you know, gives a little send off, puts in the ring and then walks away instead of like talking to the Evolveroster. 290 00:44:46,560 --> 00:44:49,560 I mean, like, did you see this? And then the titles of the ring and you're like, what the hell just happened? 291 00:44:49,560 --> 00:45:03,560 So nonetheless, there you go.
