- 3:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So thank you once again.
- 3:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So our show today is going to be about the word famous.
- 3:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Famous means maybe maybe the same or maybe a little bit different definition, depending on who we talk to.
- 4:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um we think of maybe certain people, you know, once once once a person reaches a certain certain level that they're famous, that they're a celebrity.
- 4:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we're just going to talk about like what what what that is, and I think a lot of us are striving to be famous.
- 4:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I really do.
- 4:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh I'll I'll give you my opinion on what I think famous means.
- 5:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And this is at the very, very, very top level.
- 5:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So, like the thirty thousand foot view.
- 5:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So famous to me really gets at the heart of someone or someone's, so like one person or many people have the ability to maybe mold public perception that they have attained a certain level of wealth, of so that's like money or pounds or yen, or you know, depending on where where you're watching and listening from.
- 6:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so when people hear somebody's famous, I think, again, speaking for me, I attribute or think that that is again a person high making a lot of money, have made a lot of money in in the past, currently uh somebody who's recog recognizable if you see them in public, if you see them at a show, like an entertainer, a band.
- 7:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that's where I come out with being being famous.
- 7:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, we can look at it as is it a good thing, is it a bad thing?
- 7:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We can we can do all that, and maybe we will towards the end.
- 7:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But what do you what do you consider?
- 7:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What do you think?
- 7:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What puts somebody on that pedestal of being famous, in your opinion?
- 7:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then after you answer that, does it matter?
- 7:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Meaning, does it really matter to us who's famous that we're following, seeing what a famous person is doing, what their social media is, what their latest posts, what their latest live are, has been, was.
- 8:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I think in today's day and age, more than ever can be that, you know, they say to have 15 minutes of fame, you know, famous for a short period of time, you know, with with with the internet, with social media, gives it gives the common person a better chance of attaining being famous.
- 9:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So social media didn't exist 40 years ago, 50 years ago.
- 9:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You almost had to be on on TV, on the radio.
- 9:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You weren't able to switch from one social media platform to another and see what the latest that a famous person has posted.
- 9:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we look at, you know, first, what is a famous person or person?
- 10:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What attributes does a famous person have?
- 10:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And you know, you're probably wondering, what does it does this have to do with mental health?
- 10:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, it has a lot to do with mental health because as we get to the second layer here of not just okay, what are the attributes that we feel make a person persons famous?
- 10:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But do we want to be famous?
- 10:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Is that is that what we are working day in and day out to do, to be, to be famous, to be somebody everybody looks at and goes, oh, that's Justin?
- 11:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Oh, that's Justin Allen Hayes.
- 11:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we look at that from a mental health standpoint of are we is that what we are ultimately looking to attain, obtain money, wealth, cars, yachts, mansions, private jets, all that?
- 11:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's just a question.
- 11:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or does that even does that matter?
- 11:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Do we just look at the the tabloids at the checkout of the grocery?
- 11:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So just like anything, there's there's various views on this.
- 12:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No.
- 12:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, if we're doing things illegal, I would say that that's not a good thing, no matter what.
- 12:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That aside, is that what we is that what we really are looking to do in our life?
- 12:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Are we looking to be famous?
- 12:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Are we looking to be rich?
- 12:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And what does rich mean?
- 12:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Does that mean you have a million dollar net worth, five million dollar net worth, tent?
- 13:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we start unpacking this even more, and I think the more we try to be, this goes back to what I've said on the last several episodes for trying to be somebody we're not.
- 13:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Is that really leaving the world better than what or how we found it when we grew up and as we're hopefully maturing?
- 13:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that's why it affects mental health because we want to be somebody else.
- 14:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'll answer for me.
- 14:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There is a good portion of my life where I would probably say and admit that I wanted to be somebody I wasn't where having certain clothing, certain sunglasses, certain certain things was of the utmost importance to me at that time.
- 14:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And that wasn't me.
- 15:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Now, if what I was doing just by organic evolution brought me into or you into some of these criterion that we're talking about of a famous person that is a okay.
- 15:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we might not feel like we're doing that, Justin.
- 16:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You're full of it.
- 16:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's where we get tripped up sometimes because it doesn't always feel like that's what we're trying to do, that that's what we're trying to be.
- 16:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We just go, oh well, this is just what we do.
- 16:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: As I talked about time and time again, I just thought growing up, and you know, on you know, partying on Friday and Saturdays.
- 16:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I thought that's just what you do, that's just what people do, and so I was trying to be somebody I wasn't, and I didn't really have any research or any reason.
- 16:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Nobody told me, Justin, this is what we do, this is what a human does when they reached a certain age.
- 17:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I didn't have that, so I was trying to be somebody else.
- 17:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I was trying to be not myself, and I think that's what got me in a whole lot of trouble on the mental side was I spent so much try so much excuse me, so much time trying to be somebody else.
- 17:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I just got wrapped up in it and wrapped up in it and wrapped up, and it's like a spring, you know, you you can only wrap it up so many times before it it explodes, and we're losing losing losing control.
- 17:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I wanted to be famous, I wanted to be a person people looked at and go, yeah, that's Justin Alan Hayes.
- 18:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I didn't have anything really to back it up, other than this is just what I thought we'd do when we get to this age, when we get to this day of the week, and that that I wasn't making tons and tons and tons of money.
- 18:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I wasn't you know, sailing on yachts and private jets and having mansions and all these all these um all these different things that sometimes are associated with somebody who f who's famous.
- 18:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I was for a good part of my life was trying to be somebody else.
- 18:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that's why I bring up the word famous in this show today is where do you where do you what's your stance on famous?
- 19:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And if somebody's famous and they're watching and listening, how does it feel?
- 19:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't I don't I don't know.
- 19:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I've seen interviews all over the place.
- 19:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some saying, I I just wanna I just want to live my life.
- 19:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't want to be bothered by the paparazzi, I don't want to be followed around.
- 19:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I just want to spend time with my family, and then there's others, you know, so influencers and that or where they're they're attaining to be famous, to have more and more people watch them, more and more people listen to them.
- 20:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so, what's your take on this?
- 20:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's no wrong answer.
- 20:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Don't don't don't confuse this with me saying there's a wrong answer.
- 20:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That that's absolutely not what I'm saying.
- 20:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm just curious.
- 20:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I've given you know what I've been through, what I've felt.
- 20:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so as I sit here, stand here today on this particular episode of the Voices for Voices TV show and podcast, I don't want him to be famous.
- 21:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some of you might be saying, like, oh, I bet yeah, right.
- 21:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You I you certainly do.
- 21:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I really don't.
- 21:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I wanna I wanna have safety, security, live, spend time with my family as much as possible, support them.
- 21:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I know maybe some of you are like, we bring up the number of shows every show.
- 21:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's and so I answer that of all I'm doing is sharing facts.
- 21:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like this is show number blankety blank.
- 21:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You can get upset and say, well, Justin's making a big deal about well, I think it is a pretty big deal when a solo um individual fights through adversity day in and day out and makes it this far.
- 22:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I'd say the same thing to you.
- 22:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's a big deal if you have been able to do that, or you are doing that, or that's a goal of yours.
- 22:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're here to build people up, we're here to unite people, not divide people.
- 22:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're here for culture, not politics.
- 22:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We'll share political stories time to time, we'll have political candidates time to time, but we have on both both sides of the aisle.
- 23:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We'll have a libertarian and others that they want to want to come on the show.
- 23:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We've been forthright literally since day one.
- 23:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so if somebody doesn't reach out, I I don't have the time of the day to reach out to every single person everywhere.
- 23:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it's about culture.
- 23:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Could be maybe the food that grew up in a certain area, could be a legend, a myth, folklore for a certain area, could be music, could could be movies, could be TV shows, could be books, could be sporting events, could be concerts, could be a lot of different things.
- 24:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: However, if we look at if we look at the odds, like oh, one in every two people attain being famous.
- 25:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's not the case.
- 25:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I'm not saying not not to fight for it, not to do go after it at all.
- 25:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But if there's one thing that could help our mental health, I think one of the things that could help our mental health is to not want to be like somebody else, not compare ourselves to you name it, somebody who's famous.
- 25:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And by golly, don't look back at your life and say, Oh, I wasn't famous, so I wasn't successful.
- 26:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: See, we're doing this to help people, and that's what I've pretty much said from day one.
- 26:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Voices for voices is here to help people.
- 26:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Whatever those attributes are to each individual person.
- 26:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some are similar, some are different.
- 26:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But it's never been a goal to be famous, it's been a goal to help people, to help a lot of people.
- 26:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we are helping people.
- 27:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: In a way, the voices for voices, TV show and podcast is the journal of Justin Allen Hayes.
- 27:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And the guests that come on.

- 28:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let's say, like, okay, let's put our thinking caps on.
