- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hey guys, guy here, back with a pot.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a few, almost two weeks, had a baby.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's been wild in the Habermand House.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: Little boy, he's doing great.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: And one of the great, I've got many great gifts.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: One of the great gifts we got.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Several people gave us, we've had people make his food.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: We've had people give us delivery gift cards.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I got some post, though.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: I have not been doing the show, which means I haven't had a Puesto read, but I have been eating Puesto, I love Puesto, I love the people of Puesto.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: If you're going to the 9th or game Monday night football, what a treat.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: Not only do you get to see the 9th or 5th time, but do you get to go get some Puesto, Mejicano, Moderna, they have two locations inside of Levi's State and the Adler Brothers.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: have done a fantastic job.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: The food is phenomenal.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: It is high level restaurant food in a stadium.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: Because they have high level restaurants, they've got a couple of them there.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: They've got something called a foreign orange county, La Jolla.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: But they have two in Levi stadiums.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: So if you want your Cacibiria tacos, your Alpastor tacos, the guacamole, with the Parmesan, or Regiano, and the chips.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: And they've got margaritas, the perfect margarita, the Bang Bang Margarita.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: They've got the Cacibiria burrito,
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: which is a special item with the crispy melted cheese.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: You're not getting food like this, most restaurants let alone in a stadium.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: Their tortillas are made in-house daily from scratch.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: This is not stadium food.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: This is delicious, delicious food.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: I love the short rib case of Beria Taco.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: it's my favorite, they got the filet mignon tacos, the margaritas are off the charts, the vibe is off the charts, it's I've told you this many times, but it's a perfect place for date night, for boys, that night, for business lunch, for hanging out lunch, they just, it hits every note, it's a, it's a classy joint that's also not uptight, it's fun, the drinks are phenomenal, you can go watch games there.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: If you're not going to that again on Monday night,
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: But you're the conquered area, you're in the south base in a clear at the location is always poppin', you can go watch games there or if you're in southern California, go watch the nighter game.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: At Puesto, get some great food, great drinks, and if you're at the stadium, you will not get better food than Puesto.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: So thank you to Puesto, the other brothers are awesome, you're gonna love it, and let's get on with the show.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: What's up, everybody?
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: Guy here from the basement, the newly,
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: bill, air quotes, bill, basement studio, uh, new baby upstairs.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: This is my first show since, uh, becoming a dad.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of you sent me very nice messages, which I appreciate.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: But I haven't been in a show in like a week and a half, and it becomes a sing where.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know, anybody, if it's ever taken time off a work, you know, every day longer you don't do it, the harder it is to get back to it.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Plus, you add to it the element as most of you know who are parents.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: You told me about this, is you just, you don't, I thought I'd be sitting down watching shows, baby and one arm, but I don't have a free arm, I need two arms patting,
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: Shushing.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: So it's been fun.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: Baby was born on 11-11.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's a boy and we love him and he's doing great.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I couldn't shout out, you know, let me let me be the trillionth person to say, shout out to moms, my wife.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: crushing it right now, which I know it's like not just a thing.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's un, it's eye opening.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I know, I know many of you are like, yes, we all know this.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: And I think you know it, I know it, you know, my mom, she's amazing.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: And then you see it like really from the jump in person every second.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's just
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Incredible.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: So we're having fun, you know, all the all the stuff in terms of sleep and you know it.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you've done it a lot of you've told me there's no way to prepare for it and there's not, but we're having a great time.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: So it's going to be back here on this.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: After two week absence or so, we're in the hospital for a few days, everything was just as it was planned and you sleep on that little pull out couch and then you get home and you don't open the curtains aren't opening till like noon because you're not waking up because you're going to sleep it like you know that's the part that like I didn't know my curtains wouldn't be opening.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's like summer, you know when you have like two, there's like three people live together in college and two of them go home for the holidays or for summer, one of them has to stay at the apartment alone and the blinds don't open.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, that's the boxes, the delivery food boxes are piling up.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I feel like.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: The front curtains have not opened in two weeks.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: The funcerns have not opened, but things are going well, and I wasn't sure what I do something after the show after the game the other day, and it's just important things.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: This is important, but that's important.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I appreciate y'all, and I don't have like some grand
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to fatherhood statement.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have any grand statements to make other than it's fun and Thank you because I've felt a lot of love and support comments or emails or DMs whatever from people with advice a lot of good advice
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: So the other thing is like where do you jump in when you step out for a minute during the season or for a week and a half during the season like where do I jump back on what topics do I jump back in so this isn't going to be a long one, but I just want to write fire through some stuff.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: including, you know, the Niners Kicker situation, an interesting week to have another injury, of course, to the league's best kicker Eddie Piniero, and you go to Matt Gay, and you play Carolina in Monday night, and the good news is that if you need your kicker against Carolina, I don't know if it's good news, but you're losing that game.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: you don't need your kicker to be carolina you need your kicker to lose to carolina close what i mean is carolina six and five the last four winds of or by an average of three point eight points right their winning games by a field ball but they're losing they've had five losses by an average of eighteen points now they didn't win one game by thirty that was
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: or that was their first win, week three against Atlanta.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: They did lose the New Orleans a couple weeks ago by 10.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: There's no great glory in keeping it close against New Orleans.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, I know there's a lot of talk about, well, you couldn't sack a Jacobi per set.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's how you're gonna get after Bright Young.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, whatever.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: But Rico Dowdall, hard to tackle.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: I know, this is gonna sound like I'm not giving Carolina enough credit.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe I'm not, but I've watched them.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: I've talked about like, I'm largely on impressed.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: But they're six and five.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: They are six and five.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you have to be impressed with them like based on what their standard is.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: But press young is not, like a tree's not, he's not of true franchise quarterback.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not quite happening.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: Right, they use the one of the picks they got on the calf for you to move up and they got them and like I like the guy a lot actually I'm rooting for him, but It's not headed in the direction of like this is our dude so You know now that I just do tend to need a field goal kicker this year, so I'm not dismissing it and I'm not
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: I know I sound like I'm coming in hot like this is going to be a no contest on Monday.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: The reality is and I was reading Kawakami, he's like, hey, you beat Carolina, you're eight and four, you beat Cleveland, you're nine and four, you beat Tennessee, you're ten and four and now you're basically a wildcard lock, which is true.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: So as confidence I sound or as dismissive maybe as I am of Carolina, the reality is that
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: this team you can't assume anything three weeks out and this is coming from the guy I've been talking about what a math problem it is the whole time she's a math problem it's a math problem it's a math problem look at their schedule look at their schedule so i'm on board with kawakami's you know you read out in the future it makes sense and i'm on board with it i assume nothing though
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: based on all the things that this team has dealt with.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: But you get perity back and he plays well and you got pierced all back and you got kiddo back and by the way, Juan Jennings, it's like doing the thing that you wanted Brandon, I used to do, which has come back.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: after dealing with what feels like some version of a falling out and just getting it back to normal again, feeling normal again, and you can reconcile.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: One of the reasons you want to see IU, I think, we haven't talked about this a ton, although it's thinking about it, watch the game the other day, and then reading Kawakami, there's a lot of reasons you want to see IU back.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: One like reason 10 down the list is,
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: What if, for all of the assumptions that John Jennings has just gone, for sure, moving on, not going to spend the money on him?
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: What if you did want to still trade out you can the offseason and keep John Jennings at a much lower rate?
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: You kind of want to see, like is I, you're going to come back and it's not even about being just as explosive as he was or just as dynamic as he was.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: before he got hurt because I think there's a real possibility, even if he comes back, we don't know, he's still weak the week on that practice window.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: He could look better in 2026 than he looks at the back end of 2025.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's sometimes just the way it is.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's a different injury, but I think back several years to the White Michael Crab tree looked when he came back from his Achilles.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: He came back in the second half of a year.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: And then the next year really looked better.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe that would happen with how you could do.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: But at minimum, you want to see a guy that you feel like has scrubbed away all kind of the bad vibes that went on from the contract and then not producing before the injury.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: And that maybe you just feel like, you know, you let in Juan Jennings go.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: Who is?
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: your most consistent producer.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: I love Ricky Pearcell.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was one of the best receivers in the league before he got heard this year.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: But I wanted to stay healthy for the last month that I have here and then hopefully into the postseason.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like you still got to prove that.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: So, if I euk is, it comes back at some point.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't look great and Pearcell's in and out of line up again.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: You're letting Jennings walk.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: Who is definitely your most consistent receiver producer?
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: that it's not nothing.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, one of the things to watch your down the stretch, great to see Bradley Brockwood good.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: I love this this team on Monday night football, always worth watching and you know, I'll be locked in for them.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, for those of you who are listening to this, you can't see the YouTube, those of you watching.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't want to, I started with dad.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't want to then also start with where I am, but I am not in the normal.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: The studio in the main quarters, as we'd like to say, I'm in the basement, thankful to have a basement where I could set up a little set up the desk and a different desk and go to work, you know, for those of you, excuse me, are familiar with.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, especially like the Eastern part of Oakland where you get like some, you get basements.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: Something I did not know about the Bay Area growing up, because I didn't have one living in Davis, which is not in the Bay Area.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's like an hour away.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: But I didn't realize there were, I lived in the Midwest before my dead was in the Air Force when I was much younger.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like basement, everyone had a basement.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: Those of you, like everyone's got a, I didn't know people in the Bay Area had, but we got basements.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: We do have, for those of you aren't out here in the bear, we do have basements.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: So grateful for this basement.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: I've got a big, you can't see it in the shop, but I've got a big, it was here when we got the house.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: Big gun rack, a gun safe next to me.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: No guns in it.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: I've got a couple of baseball bats.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like a six month old, six pack of corona and a bunch of sparkling water and it holds drinks.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: And now a bunch of distilled water.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: One other thing that now that you know Brock's looking good I read an article today I don't know if you saw this in the athletic it's good.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: It was Brian Hoyer And he was talking about the Shidorah Sanders experience and more specifically was talking about what it's like to be a backup quarterback
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I was scanning, I started reading the comments.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: And somebody in the comments was going to comment about back up quarterback and they quoted the show, the office, where the character Pam says to Dwight, like, Dwight, what happens if you die?
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: In terms of like, what happens to us?
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: If you die, and he said, oh, don't worry.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: If I die, you've been dead for weeks.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: And that's normally how it is with, I thought it was a great comment.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: Cause it's normally how it is with a certain quarterback.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if I die,
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: This whole team's what the whole thing's toast like it's it's it's been over That's what's been unique about the 49ers this year is that's not the case with Mac Jones and and you know Mac was asked about it a few weeks ago like why did you why exactly did you So I tell you your contract you so what happened with Donald you come here you resurrect it
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: You don't need two years.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: You do one year and then you go get a payday somewhere else, but he sounded two year and he just said, oh, that's what was presented to me.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: So Kawakami wrote that he thinks that the trade market for Mac Jones would be.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: You trade them for a third, maybe, with play incentives that could make it a second round pick, which I was not in favor of trading, but if you could pull that off, I'd be a big, big, big, big fan of that.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh,
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't really all that interesting trading on a couple of weeks ago, but you know, you'd love to see Brock play out, the part of it for me is the confident that Brock is going to play out this season, healthy, you need him to play out this season, healthy.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: And then you feel better about this corner of the other season, but he looked really good.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: You play the Cardinals at the right time, another benefit of this schedule.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: You play the Cardinals at the right time.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: But there's a lot of teams, there's no bad time to play.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: Tennessee.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: There's no bad time to play all the most of the teams on this schedule.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I've said this before and I'll say it again, the one I love.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: is not playing Seattle until the end of the year.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, seasons are long.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: There are EBSAN flows.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: The Rams look great when you play them the day.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: They've been playing well.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Seattle, I mentioned this on the last show.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think Richard Sherman said they look like the best team in league.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: There are EBSAN flows and EBSAN flows.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: And they may not look that way at the end of the season week 18.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's, that is the game I love where it's placed.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: All right, that's it for this one.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be back here on Monday night, presumably that's the plan, you used to be, I could just say that's the plan.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: I love he's been on the show, PJ Fleck, Minnesota football coach, she's got a lot of great things that I love, wrote the book, I'm a believer in PJ and he's got one he says all the time and we had a meeting with him a few weeks ago when I was doing one of their games and he found that I was going to have a
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: a son, a child, and he said, remember, and he's famous for saying this when I love it.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: Control is for amateurs.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: Control is for amateurs.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: So the plan is that I'll be back on Monday night, but control is for amateurs.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: All right, y'all.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: Appreciate.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: Appreciate you.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a while.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Good to be back on the horse.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: They don't talk you soon.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: Later.
