  Speaker 4: It's middle school and high school, right, young adults are

  Speaker 4: We got the eighteen to I consider being thirty five

  Speaker 4: as kind of young adults, just because I just believe that, like,

  Speaker 4: especially in the rim of young adults, like we're still

  Speaker 4: trying to learn, we're still trying to grow, we're trying
• 9:30
  Speaker 4: to figure out what God actually.

  Speaker 6: Wants us to do.

  Speaker 4: The covering of our house, technically high school, we going.

  Speaker 3: stepp rations. So I'm like, it's the youth you have

  Speaker 3: youth day, but it's really youth and young adult they

  Speaker 4: I also just believe in making sure that we put

  Speaker 4: high schoolers ain't paying bills let's be real, like they're

  Speaker 4: young adults now of course certain you know, circumstances and

  Speaker 4: stuff like that whatever, for sure, but at the end

  Speaker 4: of the day, like they're driving their own car. We got,

  Speaker 4: we got all this other stuff. We may be married,
• 10:44
  Speaker 4: we may not be married. We're actually seriously dating. Not

  Speaker 4: here like all of these things. You can't really have

  Speaker 4: those conversations with high schoolers and school is for real,
• 10:52
  Speaker 4: you can't hear. And we're pulling on God more over here.

  Speaker 4: But that's what we'll get to that, So rebirth, rebirth.

  Speaker 4: So I'm also a part of of a nonprofit organization

  Speaker 4: called Built for the Wild.

  Speaker 4: So I got connected with him about four years ago,

  Speaker 4: five years ago on with the youth ministry, and he
• 11:12
  Speaker 4: started basically started the organization about eight years ago called
• 11:17
  Speaker 4: Built for the Wild.

  Speaker 4: Do is we ignite with power and then we disciple right.

  Speaker 4: And so God placed on the heart during COVID to
• 11:27
  Speaker 4: go into churches where youth ministry has actually started dying off.

  Speaker 4: As we see that the youth ministries really like died
• 11:35
  Speaker 4: out a lot, especially in the black community. Some some
• 11:39
  Speaker 4: you know, white churches and stuff as well, but most
• 11:41
  Speaker 4: definitely there because we can't pay on it, right, all
• 11:44
  Speaker 4: that great stuff. So he had an awesome idea of God,
• 11:47
  Speaker 4: idea to go into churches where we can just be like, hey,
• 11:50
  Speaker 4: let's just let's just help them out.

  Speaker 6: So the team be him.

  Speaker 4: And also it's another guy named Will Betch when talk

  Speaker 4: to Doug Taylor, which is the pastor of Rebirth, and

  Speaker 4: And so we've been there for three years and I'm

  Speaker 4: telling you we've been growing and been rocking it there.

  Speaker 3: Rebirth through serving or being connected to a nonprofit that

  Speaker 3: my mind. How did you get connected with them?

  Speaker 4: Okay, so funny story. So so now we're going back

  Speaker 4: some more. So funny story. So I did was a

  Speaker 4: member at Church of the HIGHLANDSKA. So do you remember
• 12:52
  Speaker 4: of Church of Highlands. I was in the youth from
• 12:53
  Speaker 4: industry there doing all other things there. I wasn't actually
• 12:56
  Speaker 4: the student pastor there or anything like that, but I
• 12:58
  Speaker 4: would consider myself being like that top that top person,
• 13:01
  Speaker 4: always the person that called on all that great, so
• 13:03
  Speaker 4: serving at.
• 13:04
  Speaker 6: A high capacity.
• 13:06
  Speaker 4: But then COVID happened, and you know, those things happened
• 13:09
  Speaker 4: during COVID, where you know, some people don't talk about
• 13:12
  Speaker 4: some people do at at Highlands and so like me
• 13:15
  Speaker 4: and my family, me and my wife shout.

  Speaker 3: Out to like who has the same name as me, Jessica.

  Speaker 4: So we uh so we kind of stepped back a

  Speaker 4: little bit from Highlands. And of course church was just

  Speaker 4: shut down all the way, you know because COVID, and
• 13:32
  Speaker 4: so I was at the season of trying to like
• 13:35
  Speaker 4: searching and seeking, like, hey, like where can I actually
• 13:37
  Speaker 4: serve it? But then also I kind of felt, and
• 13:40
  Speaker 4: I don't like this word, but it's it's real.

  Speaker 2: I kind of got church out a little bit.
• 13:45
  Speaker 4: And so because of that, I was like, a, well, now,
• 13:48
  Speaker 4: since we know, since the only thing that we can
• 13:50
  Speaker 4: do is watch online, so to speak, I can catch T. D.

  Speaker 2: Jacks.

  Speaker 4: Now I can catch everybody else all this other stuff whatever,

  Speaker 4: And so I was catching that, but then also was
• 13:58
  Speaker 4: growing a little distant from community and community was really

  Speaker 4: needed for me. God legit told me a long time ago,

  Speaker 4: even before I even moved here to Birmingham, which I'm
• 14:08
  Speaker 4: from Cincinnati, Ohio by the way.

  Speaker 6: We getting to all that later.

  Speaker 4: Too, But that community was gonna be the biggest piece
• 14:15
  Speaker 4: of my life. And so once I started feeling like
• 14:18
  Speaker 4: the community started drifting, I started like, low KEI panicking

  Speaker 4: like I need some community.

  Speaker 3: I need because God said something that was not exactly
• 14:28
  Speaker 3: expound upon in your natural.
• 14:30
  Speaker 4: Exactly and so and so because of that, I legit
• 14:33
  Speaker 4: started feeling like I was drowning. But I realized that
• 14:40
  Speaker 4: I couldn't be alone, even if I even though I
• 14:44
  Speaker 4: have my wife at home, we're grown and stuff like that,
• 14:46
  Speaker 4: even if you know I have you know, family members
• 14:49
  Speaker 4: and stuff like that. But I still felt like I
• 14:50
  Speaker 4: needed somebody else or some other people to kind of
• 14:53
  Speaker 4: help me out and grow.

  Speaker 6: Even spiritually or just emotionally. To be honest, I mean
• 14:58
  Speaker 6: to talk about mental health.

  Speaker 4: All the time, I was going through some stuff and
• 15:03
  Speaker 4: so through that, I hit up one of my friends,
• 15:09
  Speaker 4: Will Betts. Actually he's the one of the apartments I
• 15:11
  Speaker 4: said earlier, and we actually did a basketball route before
• 15:14
  Speaker 4: before COVID hit. So I hit him like, hey, bro,
• 15:18
  Speaker 4: like what's going on? This is this whatever all that
• 15:21
  Speaker 4: great stuff. He was like, hey man, we're doing a
• 15:23
  Speaker 4: Bible study at this dude house. And I'm just like real,
• 15:27
  Speaker 4: like for real. He was like, yeah, he was over here.
• 15:29
  Speaker 4: You know during COVID.

  Speaker 2: My God did y'all will man?

  Speaker 4: We did, because you know, everybody was good, so faithless faith,

  Speaker 4: like the faithless faith. We like we did for like

  Speaker 4: a like a week or two and then it was like, man,

  Speaker 4: bump this.

  Speaker 2: Faith, forget this. You know, we're just gonna continue to pray.

  Speaker 3: And it worked for y'all.

  Speaker 4: Nobody got COVID less guy for that, you know, or

  Speaker 4: even got sick at the time, rethink that. But come

  Speaker 4: to find out, the guy that I was going to

  Speaker 4: the house with is Mayan Island, and so he was

  Speaker 4: telling me his heart and what he wanted to do

  Speaker 4: and what Guy's actually was calling him to do too,

  Speaker 4: and I was.

  Speaker 6: Just like, bro, like I would love to just come see.

  Speaker 4: I was in that Bible study for literally probably like
• 16:22
  Speaker 4: a month, and the conferences every February in March like

  Speaker 4: we do with February in March, and I went to
• 16:29
  Speaker 4: go see what the conference was about, and I was

  Speaker 4: just like hooked. I was like, man, yes, like people
• 16:34
  Speaker 4: need to see the students need to be around this

  Speaker 4: like for sure, and I would love to be a part.

  Speaker 2: And from there.

  Speaker 4: Were here now and then from there the opportunity of
• 16:44
  Speaker 4: being the young adult in.

  Speaker 6: College pastor at rebirth happened.

  Speaker 3: So the beautiful thing about your story so far this

  Speaker 3: is this is this is good. This is so good.

  Speaker 3: I just heard the Lord say this. I heard the

  Speaker 3: lawd say that you built relationships to be a relationship.

  Speaker 3: And when you think about that, the ultimate goal is

  Speaker 3: to get people to Christ, like to lead them to Christ.

  Speaker 3: And the only way we get to do that we

  Speaker 3: talk about relationship or religion, but we don't do relationship

  Speaker 3: with each other.

  Speaker 4: big on. Everybody that know me for real, especially now,

  Speaker 4: know that I am a person that love to talk

  Speaker 4: about relationships because of one what God has actually placed

  Speaker 4: in my life as far as hey like unique community

  Speaker 4: for sure, but at a young age that's always been

  Speaker 4: my thing as well. I never been a guy even

  Speaker 4: in middle school or there'll be around a lot of
• 17:48
  Speaker 4: guys like that or whatever. I grew up just being friends

  Speaker 4: with any and everybody I can. But the only time
• 17:54
  Speaker 4: I hang out with the guys was like sports. Other
• 17:58
  Speaker 4: than that, like, hey, I had a whole on to
• 18:00
  Speaker 4: girls that was friends.

  Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?

  Speaker 4: Like that was just me until I reached the point
• 18:04
  Speaker 4: of my life where it wouldcomes this where it gets crazy.

  Speaker 4: I started analyzing how women would move, and I became

  Speaker 4: the womanizer. And so now I was like, I know
