- 0:01Hello. Welcome to He's Hot.
- 0:02But something's off with me. Just Joey T my car is finally
- 0:07here. The new car that I've waited
- 0:08three months for. When you order a car, and it's
- 0:12some sort of European, German, British, whatever car is built
- 0:17in Europe, they built it over there and they have to put it
- 0:20onto a ship. And I'm on the West Coast in the
- 0:23US. And it takes 4 weeks.
- 0:26I was tracking it. They've got this website that I
- 0:28can log into after I ordered the car, and I can track when it
- 0:33started being built in the factory, when it finished
- 0:35assembly and when I was waiting for a ship and when it gets on
- 0:38the ship and all that stuff. It's kind of cool.
- 0:39I'm geeky and really into cars and all that stuff.
- 0:42So that was fun for me. It was a fun way to kill, like
- 0:46the three and a bit months that it took to to get from ordering
- 0:51the car for it to actually arrive here.
- 0:53So I just gotten the notification today that the cars
- 0:56at the dealership, which is great, it's awesome.
- 1:00And I haven't had a car for a couple of weeks and I live in a
- 1:03really, really walkable part of West Hollywood.
- 1:06There's literally a grocery store like across the street.
- 1:09There's a ton of restaurants here and there's almost nothing
- 1:13that's not a 20 minute walk away.
- 1:15Even the all the bars and everything down in West
- 1:18Hollywood, Mickey's and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:21It's a 20 ish, 25 minute if you're leisurely walk down
- 1:25there. So I don't really need a car
- 1:27that much, but I've been looking forward to getting the new car,
- 1:30obviously. But the thing that might just
- 1:35throw a wrench into the works is getting the insurance.
- 1:38I canceled my insurance, my car insurance, my previous car.
- 1:41And in retrospect, I shouldn't have canceled it.
- 1:44Because here's the tip Consumer advice.
- 1:48If you're switching from one car to the next, hold on to the
- 1:52previous car insurance and keep it alive and keep it active as
- 1:56long as you can. Because it's much, much easier
- 2:00to just switch the cars on your active policy than to cancel
- 2:05your policy and get a new policy when your new car arrives, in
- 2:10case your old one, you have to sell it or get rid of it when
- 2:13the lease ends or whatever. Yeah, so I did that and I wish I
- 2:17didn't. Now I'm talking to like all
- 2:20these insurance companies and I rent out the forms online, and
- 2:23it's apparently a thing that it's harder to get insurance.
- 2:26Now I was talking to my dealer, told me the car was ready.
- 2:30And I was telling him, Oh yeah, I'm going to need to pick it up
- 2:34a little bit later because I'm like figuring out the insurance
- 2:38stuff as I need to get a brand new policy and it takes time.
- 2:41And he said, yeah, it's been taking longer.
- 2:45Insurance companies have been making it more difficult to get
- 2:48insurance. So yeah, that's a thing.
- 2:52I keep on reading the news that because of climate change or all
- 2:56the natural disasters and hurricanes and storms and floods
- 3:00and that kind of stuff, at least here in the US, it's harder and
- 3:04more expensive to get insurance, especially for home insurance or
- 3:08renters insurance, that kind of stuff.
- 3:10And especially in places like here in California, in case
- 3:13you're keeping up the news, there's some companies that
- 3:16pulled out of selling home insurance in the whole state of
- 3:20California completely because of wildfires.
- 3:23So that's how bad it's getting that some insurance companies
- 3:27will pull up. California has a lot of people
- 3:31in. It's a very it's like, I think,
- 3:32I don't know, I'm not Google, but I think the population of
- 3:35California is bigger than some countries or something like
- 3:38that. Yeah, but apparently some
- 3:40insurance companies have just pulled out completely, not
- 3:43selling any home insurance at all here because of all the
- 3:47wildfires and droughts and that kind of stuff that we've been
- 3:50getting. So, well, there you go.
- 3:54I just had a very full dinner, so luckily you can't see my
- 3:59stomach on the video version of this podcast that's available on
- 4:01my YouTube channel, Just Joey T and also on Spotify.
- 4:05I've been trying to cook newer, different things because I
- 4:09always cook all the same things, and the only thing that kind of
- 4:14keeps me from going insane, from eating the exact same things all
- 4:19day every day, is once a week. Usually I'll order delivery from
- 4:26DoorDash or Uber Eats or whatever, but with the income
- 4:32not being plentiful lately and I'll get into the career stuff
- 4:37in a little bit thinking Also inflation it's it's really real.
- 4:42So it's always been the thing where when you order from an app
- 4:47to get food, it's likely that the prices on the app is
- 4:51actually higher than the prices in the restaurant itself.
- 4:54That's it. There's a favorite restaurant in
- 4:56your city that you like. Going to.
- 4:58The price you see on the menu you go in person versus the
- 5:01prices on the menu on the app you order.
- 5:03Delivery could very well be different.
- 5:05Most people have no way of knowing unless you go to that
- 5:07restaurant all the time. You order for them all the time
- 5:08from the apps and actually know what the prices are.
- 5:11But even to order a bowl of which is not an expensive dish
- 5:17to order, it could easily be $25 when you add up.
- 5:21Not just the price of the food itself like the price on the
- 5:25menu, but it's tax and you have to tip it and just like a
- 5:30driver's fee and you have to like tip the drivers as well as
- 5:32all that stuff. So many like fees on top of fees
- 5:34and it with inflation all all the fees and all the prices are
- 5:37higher. So you could easy pay 25 or 30
- 5:40U.S. dollars for some food. I wanted to order some Korean
- 5:45food, but every once in a while I'd like to order some Korean
- 5:48food and I'll order like two or two or three entrees or two
- 5:53entrees, an appetizer. And I don't eat it on one
- 5:56sitting. I'll eat some of it and then
- 5:58I'll usually be able to get another meal out of it the next
- 6:01day. So it's basically two meals in
- 6:02one. But when I went to try to order
- 6:05what I usually order it was it was going to be like $55 for
- 6:11like 2 entrees and like an appetizer.
- 6:14That seems kind of high to me. I know a lot of people would.
- 6:17They go out to eat all the time and can easily without blinking.
- 6:22I spend 5070, even $100 per person on dining out because
- 6:31normal people, I don't do this normal people when they dine out
- 6:34or like they will have. Let's say it's a three course
- 6:38meal. Not a super fancy restaurant,
- 6:40but it's like nice ish, so and then they'll have like a couple
- 6:43of drinks like the drinks are what, 15 bucks a pop or
- 6:46something. So that's $30 in drinks and
- 6:48entree could easy be like $25 and advertisers probably 12 or
- 6:5115 and you have a dessert which is probably another 12 or 15
- 6:54bucks. Isn't that like $100 already?
- 6:57I don't know if it's before or after tax or whatever, but it's
- 6:59like 80 or $100 per person to to have that.
- 7:04It doesn't sound like a lot, right?
- 7:06Appetizer, entree, dessert, couple of drinks.
- 7:08Doesn't sound super average anything, but that's $100 and I
- 7:12don't want to spend $100 on a meal, $100 I can eat for an
- 7:18entire week. Like all the food I would need
- 7:21to eat for entire week in groceries I can.
- 7:25Yeah, that that's $100 for me. So food is one of those things
- 7:30where I don't have the palate to differentiate between decent
- 7:37food and, like, really awesome food.
- 7:41I think one time someone, a friend offered to or they asked
- 7:46me, oh, we're going to go to this like Michelin star
- 7:49restaurant. And even if it wasn't for the
- 7:53money, I probably would say no anyways, because I feel like
- 7:58really, really good food. It's probably just wasted.
- 8:01I just don't have to pallet for it.
- 8:02I don't have to taste buds or whatever for it, so there are
- 8:06things I like to eat and I first I was steak.
- 8:11I just said I cooked steak tonight and I can't tell even
- 8:16give me a super awesome piece of steak from like a mission
- 8:20whatever restaurant that's supposed to cost like, I don't
- 8:22know, $80.00 versus like a run-of-the-mill restaurant.
- 8:27I don't know if I could necessarily tell the difference.
- 8:29There's not that many foods where I can tell when it's
- 8:31decent versus awesome. So yeah, that one.
- 8:36There's another time a friend took me to like a nice ish
- 8:40Japanese restaurant spent more than I would usually spend, and
- 8:43I can kind of tell it's better than the average Japanese
- 8:46restaurant. Like sushi was better than
- 8:48average, but I just don't feel like I have the appreciation for
- 8:52it. I also don't like going to fancy
- 8:55places. Like if it's a fancy,
- 8:58particularly fancy restaurant where there's a dress code and
- 9:01there's different types of silverware and you use different
- 9:05types of spoons and force for different things, that's too
- 9:07fancy for me. I'm not a fancy person.
- 9:08I'm a basic bitch, so, but this is the way that I see it.
- 9:12I don't judge people for spending money on that kind of
- 9:15stuff. I feel like everyone's got
- 9:18different things that they value spending money on.
- 9:23A lot of people spend money on shoes or restaurants or travel
- 9:27or clothes or whatever that you know, you saw the amount of
- 9:31money I spent on tech and computers and stuff.
- 9:34To most people they would be like, that's a ridiculous amount
- 9:37of money to spend on gadgets that don't really, you know,
- 9:42like what the an average person would can easily say.
- 9:46What's the difference between that fancy $1000 camera you have
- 9:50that doesn't even come with a lens.
- 9:52You have to spend another $1000 on a lens first, says like my my
- 9:55iPhone has an awesome camera. Like, why do I have to buy a
- 9:58separate camera? Right.
- 9:59So yeah, I choose not to spend my money on food.
- 10:05It's really the aspect that I enjoy the most about spending
- 10:09money on food and going to restaurants and stuff is the
- 10:11social aspect of it. Where I am socializing with
- 10:15friends, I'm having a meal with friends.
- 10:17It's not really about what we're eating, It's just that I'm
- 10:20spending time with friends. I love to do a game night with
- 10:24friends. That's always like a super fun
- 10:27activity for us. I do love to eat, but I just
- 10:32don't like to eat super fancy things.
- 10:34OK? Speaking of money, I had a dream
- 10:36last night that I got a job. Like a day job, a regular day
- 10:42job, and I was happy that I had a regular day job.
- 10:48But in this particular dream, I was employed by the same company
- 10:56that hired me for my very first internship in college, and it's
- 11:02it's a bank. And because of that, I parts of
- 11:07the dream were interwoven with the experience I have from that
- 11:12first internship, which partially involved carting
- 11:16around heavy old school CRT monitors.
- 11:21If you're old enough, if you're like, I don't know, older than
- 11:25your if you're in the 30s or older, you might remember when
- 11:28you were young. Computers, Desktop computers.
- 11:32Not laptops. They've got these giant CRT
- 11:35monitors, just like old school TV's.
- 11:37We're not flat screens nowadays. Every display is some sort of
- 11:40flat screen, right? Yeah.
- 11:43And my first internship, my second, a third year in college,
- 11:47we had to set up computers for our new employees at their desk.
- 11:52And when employees left or move, we will move their equipment for
- 11:55them. And that involved us getting
- 11:58these trolleys or cards and moving these desktop computers
- 12:01with these giant monitors, right.
- 12:02So in this dream, I was kind of sort of doing that.
- 12:06And I was doing that with like a couple other people.
- 12:09And at some point, as we're pushing these carts around in
- 12:13the building, we got to this one part of the building that was
- 12:18this giant, like a hall, but it was basically a giant, giant gay
- 12:26bath house. Imagine the locker and shower at
- 12:31a gym, but the size of like a gymnasium.
- 12:35And it was like all open. So for some reason we started
- 12:39carting the equipment down like through this gymnasium type
- 12:44thing, but it's just like a massive shower locker room was
- 12:47all like hot naked gay guys for some reason.
- 12:52So I don't analyze my dreams, but it was when I woke up, I
- 12:58remember that part of the dream and how those two very disparate
- 13:03things mashed together in the dream and I thought, that's
- 13:06interesting. Definitely gay.
- 13:09But yeah, I am still looking for a job.
- 13:12But recently, the last couple of weeks, I have been much more
- 13:18motivated to work on the business.
- 13:22I talked about last week that I wanted to start one of the fun
- 13:26things, at least right now, at this stage of starting a
- 13:28business, I don't know if it's weird or not, It's spending
- 13:32money and buying things for the business.
- 13:35I guess I'm maybe more of a shopaholic that I would like to
- 13:41have people believe. So for this week I bought a
- 13:47couple of things for the business.
- 13:49So for the business I do need legal advice for just general
- 13:56starting a business, small business type things and also
- 13:59for the industry I'm in. I'm eventually going to need
- 14:01some legal review and advice for that kind of stuff.
- 14:03So I signed up for like an online legal service that's like
- 14:08a monthly subscription and get access to like a law firm, all
- 14:10that stuff. So I did that and then I bought
- 14:14some online software. So I'm eventually going to have
- 14:18customers and customers need support and you need to have a
- 14:24system like a help desk ticketing system to keep track
- 14:28of when customers interact with you.
- 14:30So I went and kind of bought that.
- 14:33I bought the website ecommerce thing.
- 14:39Also another subscription because I'm going to need a
- 14:42website. I need to have an ecommerce
- 14:44system where I can sell things on the website but also via
- 14:48social media when people to be able to go onto our Instagram
- 14:52account or we're going to run apps on Instagram or a Facebook
- 14:56or whatever and for people to actually buy items directly from
- 15:00the social media. So I got the e-commerce platform
- 15:06as you will there and I also sign up for fulfillment.
- 15:10So if you want to sell physical products, you can ship them
- 15:14yourself which is cheaper or you could need someone else to do it
- 15:18for you. Either you get a warehouse and
- 15:20you hire people, which is a little advanced and it requires
- 15:23a lot of knowledge and capital, or you can hire a company to do
- 15:27the logistics and that's called 3PL or third party logistics.
- 15:31So I went ahead and signed up for an account for a third party
- 15:38company so that eventually I can have the factory send the
- 15:43products, the hard products directly to the logistics
- 15:47company. They've got a warehouse and
- 15:49they'll receive the products from the factory and then
- 15:51they'll also handle the fulfillment of all the orders.
- 15:54So basically got a few accounts and that kind of stuff, it
- 15:59doesn't feel like work for me. That just feels like fun, like
- 16:02creating accounts and buying things that that just seems like
- 16:05I'm just spending money. I need these things anyways
- 16:08eventually, but spent some time doing that this week.
- 16:13So I feel like the more I actually do things for the
- 16:17business, no matter how small or trivial that thing is, the more
- 16:23it's like a self motivating thing.
- 16:25The more I work on the business, the more I'm motivated to keep
- 16:28working on it. So I'm trying to keep that
- 16:30momentum going. The next thing I want to do is
- 16:34actually schedule some time to talk to this particular factory.
- 16:40I guess you can call it kind of a factory or manufacturer to
- 16:44kind of get that discussion going.
- 16:46But yeah, it's been pretty encouraging.
- 16:49Some of you have actually sent me some business tips.
- 16:53One of you sent me the name of a book that is aimed for people
- 16:59trying to start their own businesses.
- 17:00So thank you for that. Leave your comments down below.
- 17:03If you're watching this on YouTube.
- 17:05Yeah, But it's been, we're kind of on high right now.
- 17:09For a little while, I was kind of sort of like dragging my
- 17:12feet, just being super lazy. So I've got it.
- 17:15I know what I need to do now. So I'm just kind of just just
- 17:20keep doing it. And the more I do, the more I'm
- 17:22motivated and interested in kind of staying in that mode and
- 17:25keeping working on it. So that'll be good.
- 17:28So I am still wanting. I think it doesn't make sense to
- 17:33not have a day job right now because yeah, the bills are
- 17:36piling up. Definitely is.
- 17:40I did a budget and I usually do a budget, but I think ever since
- 17:44I create the day job, I kind of got really lazy and stop doing
- 17:47the budget I have. I have a I have a decent idea
- 17:51where all the money is going because I look through all my
- 17:53credit cards and everything, even I'm not the months, even
- 17:56when I'm not doing the budget. And definitely with inflation,
- 17:59the dollar does not go as far as it used to, even like six or
- 18:04nine months ago. So I'm definitely pinching the
- 18:09pennies a little bit more. I've looked at the trips I want
- 18:14to take. Here's something I don't know if
- 18:16most of you can relate to. I guess most of you won't be
- 18:19able to because it's a pretty niche thing is chasing airline
- 18:23statuses. So most airlines, they've got a
- 18:26frequent flyer program and it's kind of like the more you fly,
- 18:31then you get to certain levels of elite statuses with them and
- 18:36you get these perks and stuff when you travel with that
- 18:39airline. And nowadays is not so much how
- 18:42often you fly with that airline, it's more about how much you
- 18:44spend with that airline. So those of you that know any
- 18:49moderate amount above any of the US airlines and how they run
- 18:53their flyer programs, so probably know this already.
- 18:56Delta was recently in the news proposing some changes to their
- 19:01program that have gotten some backlash.
- 19:03And now the CEO is say, oh, we were going to fix it or go
- 19:06backtrack or do something about it.
- 19:08I'm united. So that's a whole different
- 19:10company. Yeah.
- 19:11But I'm really close to making the next tier up and you qualify
- 19:17each year for the next year with United.
- 19:20So my aim was to qualify for this particular tier and I'm.
- 19:25I'm close to getting that next tier.
- 19:27So I just this afternoon and my computer, this is how I kill so
- 19:32much time. Guys.
- 19:33I was on my computer literally for not for the first time.
- 19:36I was on there for two hours just trying to Tetris together.
- 19:40OK, is it feasible for me to make the next tier with the
- 19:44budgetary restrictions that I've got going on right now?
- 19:48How many flights do I need to take?
- 19:50How much money do I need to spend?
- 19:52So I spent a couple hours doing that.
- 19:54It's honestly not just a couple hours.
- 19:57I tried to check just this stuff together last week for like 3
- 20:02hours and I couldn't figure it out.
- 20:04Yeah, that's how complicated it is anyways.
- 20:06Yeah, but I'm going to take a few more trips this year, so I'm
- 20:09going to visit my family in Vancouver.
- 20:12Next month in October, I usually visit them 3-4 times a year.
- 20:18Anyways, I'm going to visit them again in December for my mom's
- 20:21birthday and I've already booked a trip to Taiwan for pride in
- 20:27Taipei. I've never been to Taiwan
- 20:30before, but I thought this would be fun.
- 20:34I know like a couple of people that are going, I don't really
- 20:36know that many people that are going, but it'll be fun.
- 20:39I'll be there for just that weekend.
- 20:41Honestly is partially. Here's the T I'm Parsi taking
- 20:46that trip just to get the points.
- 20:48So but yeah, I also want to go. But if it wasn't for the point,
- 20:52I think maybe I wouldn't have tried to take that trip because
- 20:54it's not the absolute cheapest to go to Asia.
- 20:58Well, well, it actually wasn't that expensive to be honest.
- 21:01It's probably the same as how much it would cost to go to New
- 21:04York and back. It's the same.
- 21:05This trip is costing me to go to Taipei here from LA.
- 21:10And then I've got a good friend that's turning the big 40 in
- 21:15Austin and I'm going to go to that shindig to throwing
- 21:20something for a weekend later this year.
- 21:23And then eventually, not that long now before New Year's Eve,
- 21:28and then my friends and I, we'll be going to White Party Bangkok
- 21:34again. We've been to every single White
- 21:35Party Bangkok. It is a really good time and
- 21:37it's a really good production. So we already have our tickets,
- 21:42we have our hotels booked. We actually have three hotels
- 21:45booked for the group of us and we don't need that many.
- 21:48So I need to paint some people up with that.
- 21:51Anyways, moving on. So I have this goal.
- 21:55I have this goal for ages. I have this goal to hit 170
- 21:59pounds. I'm usually trying to gain
- 22:02weight in some shape, way or form and I used to weigh myself
- 22:09like a few times a week and I would record it down.
- 22:11Or I just took a photo of the scale after I step on it to get
- 22:14the reading. But I haven't been on the scale
- 22:18since June maybe. And I try to use the scale the
- 22:25other day and all the batteries were dead and I didn't have any
- 22:27more batteries. I had to go.
- 22:29I order some batteries. It just came in.
- 22:31I weighed myself this morning. I had no idea whether since the
- 22:35last time I stepped on it back in June or whenever, whether I
- 22:39gained muscle or I lost muscle or I I gained weight or loss
- 22:41weight or I gained fat or lost fat because I got a slightly
- 22:44fancy scale. And it'll tell you not just how
- 22:48much you weigh but how much percentage body fat that you
- 22:52have. So it's a useful reference.
- 22:54You know these home devices that tell you your body fat
- 22:57percentage. It's a approximation and it's
- 23:00not super accurate, but it is very precise.
- 23:03And the difference is precision means how repeatable it is.
- 23:06Accuracy means how close it is to the actual value.
- 23:09One of the very few things, piece of knowledge that I retain
- 23:12from my engineering degree, thank God, Got something out of
- 23:16it. Yeah.
- 23:17But I stepped on it this morning and I'm £169 at 15% body fat,
- 23:25which was better than I thought because I thought I might have
- 23:31lost some weight or and I or I might have like gotten kind of
- 23:36fat. And when you look in the mirror
- 23:37you don't really know. You kind of have to step on a
- 23:39scale or like do some measurements or something like
- 23:41that. But yeah, I've been trying to
- 23:44get to 1 standing for a while, so not stepping on a scale and
- 23:48not rigidly following the diet the last few months have somehow
- 23:52helped. I still go to the gym,
- 23:54obviously, but yeah, I used to track my calories and once I got
- 24:00into the habit of doing it, especially because I eat at home
- 24:04at a time, it's pretty easy. I will literally weigh
- 24:07everything that I eat. So if I want to have a bowl of
- 24:09cereal, I would put the bowl onto the kitchen scale that I
- 24:14keep on my kitchen counter, pour the cereal onto it and see how
- 24:17many grams of cereal is this? Maybe it's 150 or 200 grams.
- 24:21OK, we're going to put milk in it.
- 24:23How much milk that we put in it? Oh, it's 200 grams of milk.
- 24:26And I've got the spreadsheet and I put everything in.
- 24:28Oh, it's this type of cereal that I'm eating is 200 gram.
- 24:32This how much of milk I put into the cereal is X number of grams
- 24:37and it spits out how many calories it is and how much fat,
- 24:41grams of fat, grams of carbs, grams of protein, blah blah blah
- 24:44blah. So I did used to do that and
- 24:47it's getting to be the fall time.
- 24:51And usually for me this is when I kind of go into bulky mode.
- 24:54After the summer a lot of people shut down for the summer.
- 24:58It's understandable. I also like to look more lean
- 25:01for the summer, but I think during the fall like September,
- 25:06October, November, December, that's when I kind of buttoned
- 25:09down and okay. There's not a lot of parties and
- 25:13events and that kind of stuff. There are a lot of holidays in
- 25:16between where people just get that.
- 25:18But this when I this time, I usually used to bulk up in terms
- 25:23of the muscles. So the next big party I'm going
- 25:28to is New Year's. And then right after New Year's
- 25:31we're going on to the Atlantis crew.
- 25:33So have to look good for that. And then before you know it,
- 25:35it's going to be springtime. So starting from March, April,
- 25:39May is when the events, the gay party events really start up and
- 25:44before you know, it is June. So for me this is a really good
- 25:47time, September, October, November, December to hit the
- 25:51gym hard and to bulk up. So that's what I'm doing right
- 25:55now. But yeah, 169 pounds, 15% body
- 25:59fat. It's actually better than I
- 26:01expected. I thought the body fat would be
- 26:03higher and I thought the weight would be lower.
- 26:05So hang on to some of that muscle which which which is
- 26:08pretty cool. I was really afraid.
- 26:11I talked about me breaking out last week and I was really
- 26:13afraid that's something I was eating, was breaking me out.
- 26:16But I did a little digging and I think it was something I used on
- 26:20my face that caused me to break out like really, really bad.
- 26:23And here's the tip guys. If you have any sort of
- 26:26cosmetics, skin care, that kind of stuff, that stuff, once you
- 26:32open it and break the seal for the first time, there's a
- 26:35limited shelf life that that item has, especially things that
- 26:39are in jars as opposed to things that are like a pump or like a
- 26:43squeeze bottle. Things in jars tends to go bad
- 26:47faster because you're exposing it to so much air.
- 26:50So, and it really depends on how well the preservatives are
- 26:56working in that thing and also the conditions in which you're
- 26:59keeping that thing in your bathroom is always humid and you
- 27:02can always put the lid on back onto your jars or moisturizers
- 27:06or whatever. Maybe you're not even barely
- 27:08screwing it on and you all that moisture gets in there.
- 27:11That's not a happy situation chemical wise and in terms of
- 27:17bacteria and fungus or whatever for those products.
- 27:21So I think what happened was I might have used something on my
- 27:24face that came out of a jar. And I did remember using a
- 27:27couple of two different things that were in jars that were
- 27:29already open, that were in my jar that I don't use very often.
- 27:32I don't remember the last time I used them.
- 27:34So probably one of those things have gone a little bit bad and I
- 27:38used it on my face and you can't tell by the smell or the look of
- 27:41it. When was those cosmetics go bad
- 27:44all the time. So yeah, I'm not going to use
- 27:47those things anymore. I've got got some order, a new
- 27:49one, so I can have a new one to use.
- 27:52But those old ones I'm not going to use.
- 27:54Thank God. I can't tolerate being allergic
- 27:57to any more food items that would cost me to break out.
- 28:01And for a while, I was like, Oh my God, is this some of the new
- 28:04stuff I bought grocery shopping because, like I said, in an
- 28:08attempt to spice up the things that I've that I'm eating at
- 28:12home, I'm trying some new things, but they're not really
- 28:15new, just things I haven't bought for groceries before.
- 28:18I got some, oh, seaweed, A snack so you can get seaweed snacks.
- 28:25They're like these really thin sheets of seaweed that you just
- 28:29pop into your mouth. I used to eat them all the time
- 28:31as a kid. They were more popular in Asia.
- 28:34Yeah, but very healthy sex. Literally just seaweed.
- 28:37So super healthy. I got jars of kimchi.
- 28:41I love kimchi. And so that's in the fridge.
- 28:44I got some wheat bran cereal. It's literally, I looked at
- 28:49ingredients on the side of the box and it was literally like
- 28:53whole bran or whole grain wheat. And it was like three
- 28:57ingredients. So it was like the most boring,
- 28:59healthiest cereal that I could buy.
- 29:01I've got soy milk because I'm not on dairy anymore.
- 29:05So I need something to eat the cereal with and it's soy milk.
- 29:07So thinking, Oh my God, I hope it's not some of this stuff
- 29:10that's making me break out. It's like I can't be able to
- 29:12like not eat anything and and you know, to deal with the acne
- 29:17and everything. Super annoying that I'm the age
- 29:20that I am and I go to the gym and I'm just full of a face of
- 29:25pimples and no one else at the gym looks like this.
- 29:29I hate people that have like no blemishes on their face.
- 29:31They don't know how good they've got it, but these days lately I
- 29:37haven't been wearing my contacts to the gym anymore.
- 29:41I used to wear my contacts almost anytime I went out of the
- 29:45house, and especially when I go to the gym.
- 29:48But here's another way I'm saving money.
- 29:50I don't really need to wear glasses or contacts at the gym,
- 29:54and the last couple of months I haven't been wearing them
- 29:58primarily to save money. And you know what?
- 30:01I don't need them. The only thing is, I was at the
- 30:04gym yesterday and you check out people at the gym as one does,
- 30:12and I can recognize when someone is a regular at the gym, so I
- 30:19already know what they look like.
- 30:21But there's always some amount of people in the gym that are
- 30:25visiting or they're new or you go at a different time of day
- 30:28and you just never seen them before.
- 30:30And I was messaging some of my friends on this group chat and I
- 30:33told them I can't tell if half the guys in the gym are hot or
- 30:39not. It's it's not possible to like
- 30:41check out someone when you can't see what they look like.
- 30:44The other thing is I can't tell if people are giving me weird
- 30:48loads in public. I'm kind of selfconscious about
- 30:52if I noticed other people are looking at me for whatever
- 30:55reason and they're like barely looking at me, they me might
- 30:58have. Just caught glances by mistake
- 31:02or they just gave me like one look just because I happen to be
- 31:05in their line of sight when I walk by.
- 31:07Like, it's not. It's barely a thing, but I have
- 31:10this thing where I feel like sometimes people are looking at
- 31:15me and I'm not sure if they are, but like maybe they are.
- 31:18And I'm always wondering, Oh my God, is there like something on
- 31:22my face and I acting weird? Is my hair ugly?
- 31:27Do is there something on my shirt or is there a tissue on my
- 31:31shoe or something something like that.
- 31:34It's like the first thought but I don't know if it's a good or
- 31:36bad thing now that I don't have. I'm not wearing the contact
- 31:39lenses to the gym that I don't know if people are looking at me
- 31:43or not. So now I'm thinking like are
- 31:46people looking at me? I can't tell and it gives me
- 31:49like a little bit of anxiety. But anyways, usually at the gym
- 31:53though, if the gym is a gym and at home is where I'm the least
- 31:57anxious. So obviously in your house you
- 31:59know there shouldn't be that much making you anxious.
- 32:01But the gym is one of the few places out in public where very
- 32:05comfortable. And I'm not that anxious because
- 32:08I go there all the time. I know what I'm doing and like
- 32:10some people and I'm there to like, work out and then I just
- 32:16get out. I'm not there to like loiter.
- 32:18I'm not there to like, socialize.
- 32:20I'm not there to hang out, basically.
- 32:24Sometimes it doesn't annoy me the way that other people use
- 32:31the equipment. There's a couple of people.
- 32:35There's a couple of people that I don't like at the gym, just
- 32:38like straight up. They're regulars and when I see
- 32:40them, I'm like this guy again because for like whatever reason
- 32:45they've maybe not put some equipment away or they were
- 32:50just, I don't know, It's usually something to do with the way
- 32:55they are using the equipment. One of the things I really don't
- 32:58like is when people use a bench at the gym, like a table, Like
- 33:06they'll put their weights on it, to put the drink on it, to put
- 33:08their phone on it, to put the towel on it.
- 33:10But they're not otherwise using it.
- 33:13They're using the weights because they're doing some sort
- 33:15of standing exercise with the weights.
- 33:17But otherwise, like that bothers me because one is not a table,
- 33:22it's a bench. Second, someone else could be
- 33:24using that bench to do an actual exercise on that bench that you
- 33:29are not using that bench for. So put your phone in your
- 33:33pocket. The waist can go on on the
- 33:34ground when you're in between sets or back on the weight rack,
- 33:39and your towel doesn't need to be there either.
- 33:42Like for me, that's annoying. I've never been in a situation
- 33:45where I'm where I needed to use a bench where someone's using it
- 33:48for stores. But I've seen people do it.
- 33:49Some people do it and that's annoying to me.
- 33:52Just one guy at the gym. I thought I wear sunglasses for
- 33:55some reason. I don't know the fuck why he one
- 33:58time I was on a piece of machine.
- 34:00Granted I don't work super fast in a machine, but if someone if
- 34:03you're waiting for me on a piece of machine, I will hurry the
- 34:05fuck up and like and I will. I will hurry it up if you come
- 34:08and ask me like hey, how many more sets do you have or
- 34:10something like that to indicate to me you're waiting for me.
- 34:13I would hurry the fuck up. This guy I was running, I was
- 34:17using this machine and I guess he came up to like a nearby
- 34:22machine and he was waiting for me at a nearby machine.
- 34:25But when I'm working out, I'm not really like I'm just working
- 34:30out. I'm in the zone, I'm doing my
- 34:31own thing. If you're waiting for my
- 34:34machine, you need to come up and tell me because I I can't read
- 34:37your mind. But apparently I guess he was
- 34:40waiting for me by sitting on a nearby machine, which I didn't
- 34:45know. And then eventually he asked me
- 34:47how many more sets I have and and that's fine.
- 34:49And I said oh blah blah, I've got X number of sets.
- 34:52And then when I was done he had a bag with him and he kind of
- 34:55sort of like threw his bag at the machine app to to use it
- 34:59after I was done. But yeah, I just didn't get.
- 35:03I didn't get a good vibe from him.
- 35:05But the next time I saw him, he was on a different day.
- 35:09He was using a machine and I wasn't trying to use it, but I
- 35:12didn't notice it. And he was just talking on the
- 35:14phone while he was on this machine.
- 35:16And when you talk on the phone while you're on a piece of
- 35:18machine, that's when you just are more focused on talking on
- 35:22the phone than using that machine.
- 35:24And I'm always thinking you're working out and talking at the
- 35:28same time, fine. But like he was like on that
- 35:30phone call for like 5 minutes because I I used a different
- 35:34piece of machine and I finished and I walked back across and he
- 35:36was still on that piece of machine, still talking on the
- 35:38phone. I'm thinking, okay, you are in
- 35:41no position to make other people feel bad that they're using a
- 35:47machine that you're waiting for when you're sitting on your ass
- 35:50for 5 minutes talking on the phone on one piece of machine
- 35:52and not using it at all. So that guy's on my shit list
- 35:54now. So maybe the sometimes I get a
- 35:59little, I don't know, sometimes little things like that.
- 36:05I just don't like I very much. I very much judge you by your
- 36:09actions and also by what you say.
- 36:12And I'm the kind of person where, like, honestly, if I was
- 36:15talking a machine, I was like working with like a friend.
- 36:18I had a friend with me. I want my friend to tell me that
- 36:21I don't want my friends to sugarcoat it, but like some of
- 36:24these people at the gym, I'm not gonna tell you how to work out
- 36:28and I'm not there to, like, give you a bad time.
- 36:31But you know, if you're the type to hog a machine and talk on the
- 36:34phone, don't expect me to jump out of the way for you the next
- 36:39time you need to use the machine that I'm on.
- 36:40So that's the kind of person I am.
- 36:42So there you go. All right.
- 36:45Hopefully the next time we talk on the podcast, I will have
- 36:48figured out this stupid car insurance business.
- 36:51And then I'll have my new car to drive.
- 36:54I have some chores that I really need to run, that I really,
- 36:56really require a car for. But until next time, bye.
