Speaker 1: There was something in me start well.
• 0:08
Speaker 2: I had to start this episode playing that song from
• 0:11
Speaker 2: Abba Fernando because Lutermanello Heismandoza shows up again. And I
• 0:19
Speaker 2: think I saw the stat by the way, happy New Year,
• 0:22
Speaker 2: and I'm glad that'd be back in the new year
• 0:24
Speaker 2: with me here. I saw the sad he was seventeen
• 0:29
Speaker 2: for twenty or something. I mean, that's just unheard of
• 0:32
  Speaker 2: for most quarterbacks.
• 0:33
Speaker 1: Alex he threw more touchdown passes than in completions. The
• 0:39
Speaker 1: kid is the real deal, obviously has He's played a
• 0:43
Speaker 1: lot of college games, has the experience. It looks like
• 0:46
Speaker 1: he can make every throw. He's the leader. He is
• 0:52
Speaker 1: in total control, even postgame press conferences when he came
• 0:56
Speaker 1: right off the field. The kids in total total control.
• 1:00
Speaker 1: It's an amazing situation with Indiana, I mean, the second
• 1:05
Speaker 1: losing his program in the history of college football. And yes,
• 1:11
Speaker 1: they've been helped out by the new wave of college
• 1:15
Speaker 1: free agency a lot. They've like every other school, they
• 1:20
Speaker 1: have coached players from other teams, mostly from the group
• 1:26
Speaker 1: of the Group of five, which next year will be
• 1:29
Speaker 1: a group of six with the Pac twelve coming back.
• 1:32
Speaker 1: That has that's going to separate the the power for
• 1:36
Speaker 1: from the group of five. But Indiana is remarkable. They
• 1:40
Speaker 1: have they have the best offensive line, or as good
• 1:43
Speaker 1: as an offensive line they have in football. They have
• 1:45
Speaker 1: great receivers, and they have a great leader. Again, it
• 1:51
Speaker 1: looks like the Jets are just going to miss out
• 1:53
Speaker 1: with the number two pick because he is gonna be
• 1:58
Speaker 1: a tremendous NFL player. I think he's the best NFL
• 2:01
Speaker 1: quarterback prospect since Joe Burrow. I really do. That's how
• 2:05
Speaker 1: good I think Mendoza is.
• 2:07
Speaker 2: I would say full transparency. When I was talking about
• 2:10
Speaker 2: Jeremiah Love, if possible, you know Heisman, You're like, no,
• 2:13
Speaker 2: I think it's Mendoza. I was trying to put all
• 2:15
Speaker 2: together because look, it's Indiana. You don't you don't see
• 2:19
Speaker 2: them in the headlines every day. Yet this kid's got.
• 2:21
Speaker 1: The not for football, for basketball, yes, but not for football.
• 2:25
Speaker 2: And the point is, I think they still stayed a
• 2:27
Speaker 2: bit underrated the whole year because Indiana. It just you
• 2:31
  Speaker 2: wouldn't expect it.
• 2:32
Speaker 1: You know, You're correct, they were undervalued, underrated the whole
• 2:38
Speaker 1: year because Indiana football has no history.
• 2:42
Speaker 2: And him and here in the Northeast, who do we
• 2:45
Speaker 2: care more about in the Big ten. Well, Rutgers is
• 2:48
Speaker 2: sort of a non factor. I hate to say that,
• 2:50
Speaker 2: but but Penn State's disaster actually really took over the
• 2:54
Speaker 2: whole Northeast conversation because their goodness, they were in they
• 2:58
Speaker 2: were in the playoffs last year. Then they get that
• 3:00
Speaker 2: downfall and frankly gets fired. I thought, we care more
• 3:03
Speaker 2: about that than anything else in this part of the country.
• 3:08
Speaker 1: You know, Coach Trinetti has done a spectacular drop. He's
• 3:11
Speaker 1: a great football coach, and he had the right guy
• 3:15
Speaker 1: at quarterback. Like I said, their offensive line is outstanding,
• 3:19
Speaker 1: their receivers are outstanding, their defense is outstanding. They are
• 3:22
Speaker 1: the best team in college football. They go into next
• 3:25
Speaker 1: Monday Night's game as a seven and a half point
• 3:26
Speaker 1: favored over the University of Miami, who I think is
• 3:29
Speaker 1: an outstanding football team and I think has a chance
• 3:32
Speaker 1: to win. This is not going to be a miracle
• 3:34
Speaker 1: that they don't win. One of the reasons why Indiana
• 3:39
Speaker 1: destroyed an outstanding Oregon team last night was because they
• 3:45
Speaker 1: won the turnover battle. They got the pick six right away,
• 3:49
Speaker 1: and then Oregon fumbled a couple of times inside the ten.
• 3:54
Speaker 1: Then they got the block phunt. So if Miami avoids
• 3:59
Speaker 1: those type of mistakes, even though they're a little bit
• 4:02
Speaker 1: beat up in the secondary, and that's gonna be key
• 4:05
Speaker 1: to see how their secondary is health wise for the
• 4:09
Speaker 1: game a week from monday. I mean, this Indiana ride
• 4:14
Speaker 1: is absolutely and you know, the two teams.
• 4:19
Speaker 2: Then I said this off line too, these are the
• 4:20
Speaker 2: two teams that deserve it. I mean, Miami knocked off
• 4:24
Speaker 2: the defending champion last week. I mean it was pretty
• 4:27
Speaker 2: amazing to watch, and then of course this week they
• 4:30
Speaker 2: do their thing again and uh, you know, now they're
• 4:33
Speaker 2: under the their home turf, their home turf to play Indiana.
• 4:40
Speaker 2: So I think overall, these two are the teams that
• 4:43
Speaker 2: most deserve it. I don't know, I've never felt that
• 4:45
Speaker 2: way about any other playoffs.
• 4:48
Speaker 1: Well, agree with you. I agree with you, Alex. They
• 4:51
Speaker 1: do deserve Both teams deserve to be there, and I
• 4:53
Speaker 1: think we're gonna see quite a football game. I know
• 4:56
Speaker 1: Indiana gave Alabama as first loss ever postse and they
• 5:01
Speaker 1: did the same thing last night. I think. I mean,
• 5:05
Speaker 1: if Miami can win a time of possession and if
• 5:09
Speaker 1: they could avoid turnovers, I think I think they have
• 5:13
Speaker 1: a they have a chance. But if you're and you know,
• 5:16
Speaker 1: we all make a lot of predictions on this team,
• 5:18
Speaker 1: but Indiana about eleven thirty on or eleven o'clock on
• 5:23
Speaker 1: Monday nine to nineteenth probably will be a national champion
• 5:27
Speaker 1: which is absolutely remarkable, And it will cap a two
• 5:32
Speaker 1: year turnaround, even with paying players and the transfer portal.
• 5:37
Speaker 1: This two year turnaround for a dead football program to
• 5:41
Speaker 1: national championship is remarkable. The thing to the National Championship
• 5:45
Speaker 1: game is remarkable. Well, let me let me let me
• 5:48
Speaker 1: say this. I mean, I think.
• 5:51
Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure there's videos of like an empty stadium
• 5:53
Speaker 2: or something like that for Indiana football. Well, that stadiums
• 5:56
Speaker 2: would be filled up forever. Now, I mean, this guy's
• 5:58
Speaker 2: turning them and dozes turn around.
• 6:01
  Speaker 1: Yep.
• 6:01
Speaker 2: And I remember well watching some clips of how Signette
• 6:06
Speaker 2: said this was basically a project.
• 6:07
Speaker 1: Right, he's gonna he if this was.
• 6:09
Speaker 2: A whole project for him to turn the program around.
• 6:11
Speaker 2: And he's really done an incredible job. And I think
• 6:16
Speaker 2: it's funny because when you think of Indiana, of course
• 6:18
Speaker 2: I think of South Bend, Indiana, and I'm like, well,
• 6:19
Speaker 2: not this year. But I will tell you this is
• 6:23
Speaker 2: the second year in a row someone from Indiana is
• 6:24
Speaker 2: going to be in the national tournament, which I find
• 6:27
Speaker 2: pretty cool. It just happened to be Indiana University this year.
• 6:30
Speaker 1: Well, the other thing is, Alex. Everybody always talks about
• 6:33
Speaker 1: how great the Southeast Conference is, and yes, historically, over
• 6:36
Speaker 1: the last twenty years, there's no doubt about it, it's
• 6:39
Speaker 1: been the best conference. But the best conference this year
• 6:42
Speaker 1: and last year is the SEC. And if Indiana, if
• 6:47
Speaker 1: Indiana wins, will be the third straight era a different
• 6:51
Speaker 1: Big Ten team wins the national championship. So you got
• 6:56
Speaker 1: you have to say that the SEC, especially at the
• 7:00
Speaker 1: top end, is as the Big Ten, is as good
• 7:04
Speaker 1: as the ACC. Excuse me, the Big Ten is as
• 7:08
Speaker 1: good as the SEC.
• 7:10
Speaker 2: That's oh man, yeah, they're right there.
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: Now.
• 7:14
Speaker 2: I want to talk about Carson Beck real quick, because
• 7:16
Speaker 2: this kid I followed him in the Georgia days. I mean,
• 7:19
Speaker 2: he was just really good in Georgia. But what a
• 7:22
Speaker 2: resurgence for him this year. And Miami did make a
• 7:27
Speaker 2: splash by being Notre Dame, and then they too sort
• 7:29
Speaker 2: of did their own thing and nobody really noticed. You know,
• 7:31
  Speaker 2: it's just like all right, they're they're they're winning week
• 7:34
Speaker 2: to week, but of course they make the playoffs and
• 7:38
Speaker 2: now they look show why they did it. But Carson
• 7:41
Speaker 2: beck Man, I love watching him at Georgia. I'm sure
• 7:44
Speaker 2: you remember the Georgia days with him.
• 7:45
Speaker 1: Of course I like him, I always have.
• 7:49
Speaker 2: I think he has and he's twenty three and he's
• 7:51
Speaker 2: doing it, so that's pretty cool for a college kid.
• 7:53
Speaker 1: Well this he's had seven years of eligibility or some
• 7:57
Speaker 1: ridiculous total. But again, I like Carson beck I think
• 8:02
Speaker 1: he has a chance to be some level of an
• 8:05
Speaker 1: NFL quarterback. I think he's the type of guy that
• 8:10
Speaker 1: you would draft in maybe the third or fourth round
• 8:12
Speaker 1: and could develop. He made some nice NFL level throws
• 8:20
Speaker 1: down the stretch. Both of that Instant Classic on Thursday
• 8:25
Speaker 1: Night between Miami and Old Miss, Miami was the better team.
• 8:29
Speaker 1: Even though it came down to the wire. Miami was
• 8:32
Speaker 1: was was the better team on Thursday Night. I like.
• 8:36
  Speaker 1: I like Carson Beck I do. I don't like him
• 8:40
Speaker 1: as much as Mendoza. Again, I wish the Green and
• 8:46
Speaker 1: White had a chance to draft Mendoza, but they had
• 8:48
Speaker 1: to win three games when they really who gets a
• 8:50
Speaker 1: crap if they had won three to one or two.
• 8:54
Speaker 1: So I would be shocked if the Raiders some people
• 8:57
Speaker 1: say that Dante more is, you know, as far the
• 9:02
Speaker 1: measurables is the number one, But no way, I mean
• 9:06
  Speaker 1: he's still I mean he's not a play as Greg
• 9:08
Speaker 1: McElroy said post game, he's not a play and plug guy.
• 9:11
Speaker 1: Even if the Jets had drafted Mendoza, I would have
• 9:14
Speaker 1: made him a play and plug guy. You got, you
• 9:17
Speaker 1: gotta these guys watch the game a little bit. I
• 9:21
Speaker 1: mean even Joe Namath didn't start his first game.
• 9:24
Speaker 2: So now these kids get drafted, they look on the
• 9:30
Speaker 2: sideline and you know, they're on the sideline watching the
• 9:33
Speaker 2: other guys out there.
• 9:35
Speaker 1: So I'm looking forward to the game next week. Miami's physical,
• 9:41
Speaker 1: But you know, Alex, if you're gonna press me to
• 9:43
Speaker 1: make a prediction, I'm I'm picking Indiana, you know, so
• 9:53
Speaker 1: you know we'll uh, you know, I think Indiana. They
• 9:57
Speaker 1: said on the telecast that Indiana only had like eight
• 10:01
Speaker 1: four or five star recruits. Oregon had fifty five, Miami
• 10:07
Speaker 1: and Olmus had about forty. Just supposed to show you
• 10:10
Speaker 1: all about coaching chemistry and how Indiana executes. That's that's
• 10:17
Speaker 1: due to their brilliant coach and coaching staff. So looking
• 10:24
Speaker 1: forward to a game, on Monday, nineteen nineteenth. Should be fun,
• 10:29
  Speaker 1: absolutely all right.
• 10:30
Speaker 2: I want to talk about the Raiders real fast, because
• 10:32
Speaker 2: we talked about this before, but maybe the people didn't
• 10:34
Speaker 2: catch it last time. Tom Brady needs to leave the
• 10:36
Speaker 2: broadcast with if he's gonna have hands on control.
• 10:39
Speaker 1: Right one correct, he can't. If he's going to be
• 10:45
Speaker 1: the guy pulling the strings in football operations for the
• 10:50
Speaker 1: Las Vegas Raiders, he can't be. He can't be in
• 10:53
Speaker 1: the booth doing the league game each week for Fox.
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: It just can't. It just can't happen. And I don't
• 11:02
Speaker 1: know how. You know, you hear stories that he's more involved,
• 11:05
Speaker 1: more involved, more involved. Well, if he's more involved, the
• 11:07
Speaker 1: league has to get involved and say, hey, it's either
• 11:11
Speaker 1: you're a broadcaster or you're the director of football operations,
• 11:17
Speaker 1: even if you don't have the title of director of
• 11:19
Speaker 1: football operations. So he can't, he can't.
• 11:22
Speaker 2: No, what about Troy because obviously they just found their GM.
• 11:25
Speaker 2: Does he go back to the booth now if he's.
• 11:26
Speaker 1: Yeah, right, that was the one off. You know, that
• 11:30
Speaker 1: was basically a one off. I'm sure that he gave
• 11:32
Speaker 1: his opinion on a couple of guys and that's it.
• 11:34
  Speaker 1: He's he's unless there's something that we don't know about.
• 11:37
Speaker 1: He's done with the Dolphins.
• 11:40
Speaker 2: Well, I'm beIN interesting is I love? They did the
• 11:42
Speaker 2: Saturday night game last week. I'm always just them on
• 11:45
Speaker 2: Monday Night, Monday Night, but they were there doing Saturday
• 11:48
Speaker 2: Seahawks versus Night. All right, let's go today's matchups. We
• 11:52
Speaker 2: know Carolina is the main reason why they are four thirty,
• 11:55
Speaker 2: because I think the Rams are just always fun to watch.
• 11:58
Speaker 2: But Carolina first time in it in a long time.
• 12:02
Speaker 2: Maybe they don't think they're gonna.
• 12:03
Speaker 1: Be a big draw. So let's put it four thirty.
• 12:05
Speaker 2: But I really wanted and I hoped one of these
• 12:08
Speaker 2: Northeast teams games would be today so I can get there.
• 12:11
Speaker 1: Louis, they're all tomorrow. What's what's up with that? Well,
• 12:15
Speaker 1: the reason why the Rams are playing Carolina at four
• 12:18
Speaker 1: thirty is because Carolina was eight and nine and they're
• 12:25
Speaker 1: not a national team and the Rams had the Rams are.
• 12:35
Speaker 1: You know, the Rams obviously have a lot of star power,
• 12:39
Speaker 1: but let's face it, you're not gonna put them on
• 12:42
Speaker 1: tonight at eight o'clock when you have Green Bay at
• 12:44
Speaker 1: Chicago on Amazon Prime. You're not gonna put them on
• 12:48
Speaker 1: Sunday Night Football tomorrow night, where you have the Chargers
• 12:51
Speaker 1: at New England. You're not putting them on Monday Night
• 12:54
Speaker 1: Football where you have Houston against Pittsburgh. So again, but again,
• 13:00
Speaker 1: even Los Angeles Rams and the Panthers, the ratings are
• 13:05
Speaker 1: going to be higher than any other of the three
• 13:08
Speaker 1: major sports in postseason the Rams. I think the Rams
• 13:13
Speaker 1: will will survive even though they're on the road against
• 13:16
Speaker 1: an eight nine Panthers team. You know when they lost
• 13:18
Speaker 1: to them about five weeks ago in Charlotte, they turned
• 13:23
Speaker 1: them all over three times. Stafford had his worst yame
• 13:27
Speaker 1: their walk off field goal games. It might have been right, No, no,
• 13:31
Speaker 1: that wasn't a walk off game. It was Caroline or
• 13:34
Speaker 1: took the lead with about four minutes going held on.
• 13:37
Speaker 1: But and you know they have Davonte Adams back, and
• 13:40
Speaker 1: they have Quinton Like back at safety. Again if the Rams,
• 13:46
Speaker 1: if the Rams lose today, it would be pretty surprising.
• 13:51
Speaker 2: It would It wouldn't be, but that would be a shocker.
• 13:55
Speaker 2: I mean that would just be because Stafford, you know,
• 13:59
Speaker 2: it's said just another team. You kind of follow them
• 14:02
Speaker 2: in the regular season, but once postseason hits, they become
• 14:06
Speaker 2: a different animal. Like I don't know what it is
• 14:08
Speaker 2: with the Rams, but they always just turn it on
• 14:11
Speaker 2: when they need to. So I expect that to happen
• 14:14
Speaker 2: this week. So we'll have to see. But tonight, my
• 14:17
Speaker 2: dad's team is in the playoffs, but the first time
• 14:21
Speaker 2: since he passed, by the way, I remember twenty nineteen
• 14:24
Speaker 2: like it was yesterday. We were at a dinner with
• 14:27
Speaker 2: Reyne Groan from the Yankees. He had an awards night
• 14:31
Speaker 2: and everything with Doc Good and all that, and guess
• 14:34
Speaker 2: what my dad was doing. He was listening to the
• 14:36
Speaker 2: Bears playoff game where Kody Parky donks it off the
• 14:39
Speaker 2: crossbar at the dinner. He was listening to it at
• 14:43
Speaker 2: the game at the dinner. I'll never forget that. But
• 14:46
Speaker 2: now they're back on tonight, a very different situation, very
• 14:50
Speaker 2: different look. I'm still nervous. The Packers always have the
• 14:52
Speaker 2: Bear's number, it feels like, so they to truly say
• 14:56
Speaker 2: the Bears have walling like up the NFC North, they
• 14:59
Speaker 2: have to win tonight like that. Tonight is a statement game,
• 15:02
Speaker 2: even though even if it doesn't lead to more this year,
• 15:05
Speaker 2: just to prove yourself in the NFC North, tonight would
• 15:07
Speaker 2: be a must win.
• 15:08
Speaker 1: I would say, well, again, they've done a great job. Well,
• 15:11
Speaker 1: let they've gone from worse to first, as as did
• 15:15
Speaker 1: New England. Uh and uh and Jacksonville, well not Jacksonville,
• 15:21
Speaker 1: excuse me, but they've gone from worse to first and
• 15:25
Speaker 1: uh uh. So whatever happened tonight, you gotta think that
• 15:29
Speaker 1: the Bears are on the right path.
• 15:31
Speaker 2: And Johnson's a ridiculously great coach. Again, great is great
• 15:36
Speaker 2: is a little we can well let me let me
• 15:40
Speaker 2: say from Chicago standards, because I had seen them suffer
• 15:43
Speaker 2: with ever Flus, who just got fired by Dallas, by
• 15:46
Speaker 2: the way, and it's like the one's he gonna learn.
• 15:49
Speaker 1: Maybe you can't coach in the NFL. I don't know,
• 15:51
Speaker 1: but he just got Somebody had to take the fall
• 15:53
Speaker 1: for that horrible defense, and you know they trade away
• 15:57
Speaker 1: their best defensive player and Mikason so he reflewes. You know,
• 16:02
Speaker 1: he had to try to overcome that. But Ben Johnson
• 16:05
Speaker 1: has done an outstanding job and I would vote for
• 16:07
Speaker 1: him as as coach of the Year. But to put
• 16:11
Speaker 1: I think we and it's and I do the same thing, Alex.
• 16:13
Speaker 1: We all put the label great next to guys prematurely,
• 16:17
Speaker 1: but he's done the great But Ben Johnson's done a
• 16:19
Speaker 1: great job this year. I think Caleb Williams is still
• 16:23
Speaker 1: not a finished product. He's still a little inaccurate for
• 16:27
  Speaker 1: my liking.
• 16:29
Speaker 2: And you know what I've always sad about the Bears
• 16:30
Speaker 2: is they always need that running back. And of course
• 16:32
Speaker 2: David Montgomery was there for a long time. They went
• 16:35
Speaker 2: over to Detroit. Manungai looks real, like that's a real
• 16:38
Speaker 2: and then Swift. Those two have really carried this team down.
• 16:42
Speaker 2: Jay Swift, every time he gets the ball, he has
• 16:44
Speaker 2: the edgeone it feels like so I like his game,
• 16:47
  Speaker 2: like his style.
• 16:49
Speaker 1: Well, their running game is excellent. Now you gotta remember
• 16:53
Speaker 1: they you know, they were pretty fortunate to win that
• 16:55
Speaker 1: second game, which was only three weeks ago. Uh so
• 17:00
  Speaker 1: really uh.
• 17:02
Speaker 2: But almost Hill Mary throw was ridiculous, Like that was
• 17:05
Speaker 2: just quite the play it over, I think, and overtime
• 17:08
Speaker 2: it was just so Yeah.
• 17:11
Speaker 1: I think this is the classic toss up game. The
• 17:14
Speaker 1: team that avoids the big turnover I think is gonna win.
• 17:21
Speaker 1: The health of of of Love, who hasn't played in
• 17:24
Speaker 1: about three weeks, to see he shakes off any rush.
• 17:28
Speaker 1: The pressure is on Love. The pressures, not on the Bears,
• 17:31
Speaker 1: the pressures on the Packers. You know, so this is
• 17:35
Speaker 1: this is a toss up game.
• 17:37
Speaker 2: And the Packers have had some odd wins. I mean,
• 17:39
Speaker 2: they've had some just odd games. I've seen a few
• 17:42
Speaker 2: of them over over the weeks. It's just been interesting
• 17:46
Speaker 2: how they were sort of out of it and they
• 17:48
Speaker 2: get back in it and then they win a couple
• 17:50
Speaker 2: of games. I thought they were gonna lose. I don't
• 17:52
Speaker 2: know if you saw the same thing, but it just
• 17:54
Speaker 2: was like how they do that?
• 17:55
Speaker 1: So yeah, and that's that's how close and how wide
• 17:58
Speaker 1: open the NFL has been this year. Ye, So, like
• 18:03
Speaker 1: I said, makes it fun.
• 18:06
Speaker 2: But they did have the Lions over and I think
• 18:08
Speaker 2: the Lions downfall was the most shocking story of all
• 18:11
Speaker 2: in the NFL because this team was about fifteen and
• 18:14
Speaker 2: one or fourteen and two over the last couple of years.
• 18:17
Speaker 2: We all know Dan Campbell gets his coaching staff gutted,
• 18:22
Speaker 2: but my goodness, little that to me, the that downfall
• 18:27
Speaker 2: of golf in the Lions really was a storyline this
• 18:31
Speaker 2: whole year. I don't know if you sense that or not.
• 18:33
Speaker 1: But well, again, they had a ton of injuries in
• 18:38
Speaker 1: the league, that is closer than ever before, more wide open.
• 18:44
Speaker 2: Uh a Menders. I think they lost the Green Bay twice,
• 18:47
Speaker 2: which is kind of a reason why the Packers are
• 18:51
Speaker 2: where they are today because they were able to do
• 18:53
Speaker 2: Detroy a couple of times.
• 18:54
Speaker 1: So yeah, Now, and.
• 18:59
Speaker 2: You know a friend in Wisconsin, so all I see
• 19:01
Speaker 2: on his feet is green bas up. That's how I
• 19:03
Speaker 2: know these things anyway, So what OB see now tomorrow?
• 19:09
  Speaker 1: You know what?
• 19:09
Speaker 2: We both love Josh Allen. I love his athleticism. But
• 19:13
Speaker 2: the Jaguars look for real this year. I mean, Trevor
• 19:18
Speaker 2: Lawrence finally looks like the Trevor Lawrence we all thought
• 19:21
  Speaker 2: he would be.
• 19:21
Speaker 1: What do you got? I don't know it.
• 19:23
  Speaker 2: Well.
• 19:24
Speaker 1: William Cohen, an offensive coach, has been able to to
• 19:31
Speaker 1: help him for sure, and he's gotten better as the
• 19:33
Speaker 1: season went on. Jacksonville has a better a better roster
• 19:41
Speaker 1: than Buffalo right now. The only thing that what Buffalo
• 19:46
Speaker 1: has on their side is Josh Allen covers up for
• 19:50
Speaker 1: all of their awards and the only thing Alex if
• 19:59
Speaker 1: they win, it's gonna be which Josh Allen has one
• 20:01
Speaker 1: of those great games. If everything else is equal, Jacksonville
• 20:06
Speaker 1: has a really, really excellent chance of winning this game.
• 20:09
Speaker 1: Also if they if they lose Buffalo, If Buffalo loses,
• 20:14
Speaker 1: you might see another team looking for a coach they
• 20:16
Speaker 1: might move. Well, that that's.
• 20:18
Speaker 2: The thing is how long can they deal with the
• 20:20
Speaker 2: McDermott era, because obviously, look, I think Sean's great. I mean,
• 20:25
Speaker 2: I think he's done okay with always.
• 20:27
Speaker 1: No, Actually he has I mean, there's there's no doubt
• 20:30
Speaker 1: about it. But this is not a This is not
• 20:32
Speaker 1: a great Buffalo team. This is not like roster they
• 20:34
Speaker 1: had even two years ago. And as we talked about,
• 20:37
Speaker 1: ross has changed so quickly in the NFL.
• 20:40
Speaker 2: By the way, I am convinced they're not tearing down
• 20:42
Speaker 2: Hinmark until the season's over in case they do want
• 20:44
Speaker 2: to have to do a parade in there or something. Right,
• 20:48
Speaker 2: And you know what, I would go if the Bills
• 20:50
Speaker 2: won the Super Bowl this year, I would go up
• 20:51
Speaker 2: there just to be part of that, because A this
• 20:54
Speaker 2: New York's team, and B I've never been in him Mark,
• 20:58
Speaker 2: so that'd be a great excuse to go one time,
• 21:00
Speaker 2: you know, just to see it. But anyway, we'll get there.
• 21:02
Speaker 2: If we get there, I just don't know. The Bills
• 21:05
Speaker 2: did not have the best year. Allan did not have
• 21:07
Speaker 2: the best Allan year, and we all know the NBA.
• 21:10
Speaker 1: No, I would disagree with you on that Alex Alan
• 21:15
Speaker 1: had a great year year.
• 21:18
Speaker 2: Well maybe that it's Drake May's out shining him that's
• 21:21
Speaker 2: going to get him the MVP. I just feel like
• 21:22
Speaker 2: Drake May won the whole, like got the whole MVP
• 21:25
  Speaker 2: wrapped up.
• 21:26
Speaker 1: I don't look at it this way. Drake May might
• 21:31
Speaker 1: have a better coach than than Alan's Alan's bills have.
• 21:37
Speaker 2: It's so funny with Rabel because in Tennessee they didn't
• 21:40
Speaker 2: do much like I guess they did a little bit.
• 21:42
Speaker 1: But yeah, they did a little bit. But this well,
• 21:45
  Speaker 1: I think.
• 21:45
Speaker 2: They got He got into the playoffs for the first
• 21:47
Speaker 2: time in a while. But Rabel's really taking the reins
• 21:51
Speaker 2: here and in his home. You know, that's where he
• 21:53
Speaker 2: basically grew up in football. He was a star Patriot
• 21:56
Speaker 2: when I was growing up. But now he's taking this
• 21:59
Speaker 2: team the you know, the playoffs with Drake May. I
• 22:03
Speaker 2: think it's just a perfect fit the two of them.
• 22:06
Speaker 1: Yes, it is a perfect fit. And Drake May makes
• 22:09
Speaker 1: well make makes his head coach look better. No matter
• 22:11
Speaker 1: who the coaches, he would even make Aaron Glenn look
• 22:15
Speaker 1: better if he was if Aaron Glenn had him at quarterback.
• 22:18
Speaker 1: But uh, I mean if if the Bills win, it's
• 22:25
Speaker 1: skyly because of a great game by Allen. That's that's
• 22:29
Speaker 1: just my take on it.
• 22:30
Speaker 2: It will come down to Lawrence versus Allen, or Allen
• 22:33
Speaker 2: versus the Jaguars defense is.
• 22:34
Speaker 1: Gonna get them absolutely.
• 22:36
Speaker 2: Now the middle game we're talking, well, we'll talk to
• 22:38
Speaker 2: the other one. Because the pain the Egles Niners, I
• 22:43
Speaker 2: think is the matchup of the weekend. I don't know why,
• 22:46
Speaker 2: but I feel like we've all seen these two teams
• 22:49
Speaker 2: play before. But I'm excited to see us what a
• 22:51
Speaker 2: healthy brock Party could do against the Egles. I don't
• 22:53
Speaker 2: care what round it is. I am convinced they're going
• 22:56
Speaker 2: to rewrite that, rewrite that that happened a few years
• 23:01
Speaker 2: ago and beat Philly. If he's one hundred percent tomorrow,
• 23:04
Speaker 2: I could just see it. I see it happening.
• 23:07
Speaker 1: This is an interesting game, maybe the most interesting on
• 23:11
Speaker 1: the board. At four point thirty tomorrow afternoon, the Foy
• 23:18
Speaker 1: nine Ers are beat up. Shanahan has been able to
• 23:22
Speaker 1: end Salah. Robert Salah, a great defensive coordinator, Crummey head coach,
• 23:26
Speaker 1: great defensive coordinator, but uh, they know how to overcome injuries.
• 23:37
Speaker 1: The Eagles, obviously, you never know what's in their heads.
• 23:41
Speaker 1: Their offense has gone into uh the tank the last
• 23:45
Speaker 1: half of the year. But they're playing at home and uh,
• 23:52
Speaker 1: you know, we'll we'll see what happens. Barkley has to
• 23:55
Speaker 1: be Barkley tomorrow. The you know, obviously was nowhere near
• 23:59
Speaker 1: the Barkley that he was last year. Alex. I think
• 24:03
Speaker 1: I think the Eagles will find a way to pull
• 24:05
  Speaker 1: this one out.
• 24:06
Speaker 2: This whole team, that whole team has been in a
• 24:09
Speaker 2: bit of disarray, especially with the A. J. Brown situation.
• 24:13
Speaker 2: But that yet they overcame all that they do in
• 24:15
Speaker 2: the East and here they are and they're going to
• 24:17
Speaker 2: host the Niners tomorrow, and the Niners story about how
• 24:21
Speaker 2: they've recovered every from all those injuries. I mean, last
• 24:25
Speaker 2: week was rough to see. And the Seahawks look like
• 24:28
Speaker 2: they can make a run of this once they get
• 24:30
Speaker 2: their hands on the football and the playoffs. But one
• 24:34
Speaker 2: we got a time, right Louis, And the other thing for.
• 24:37
Speaker 1: Sure on the other side of the ball.
• 24:39
Speaker 2: McCaffrey, I'm glad he's healthy, he could tear it up
• 24:42
Speaker 2: tomorrow Lincoln Financial will have to see if.
• 24:44
Speaker 1: He does that so best all around running back in
• 24:47
Speaker 1: the end, I would love I would love a McCaffrey jersey,
• 24:51
Speaker 1: so that that's one of my goals.
• 24:53
Speaker 2: Anyway, I digress Harbaugh. You know, I love the Harbor
• 24:58
Speaker 2: Herbert connection and I want to see that thrive. But
• 25:01
  Speaker 2: against the Patriots, I don't know. I mean, it's gonna
• 25:04
Speaker 2: be fun because again, Harbaugh, I know it's in college
• 25:07
Speaker 2: he was legendary, but a legendary coach going up to Foxborough.
• 25:11
Speaker 2: I'm very interested to see how coaches tomorrow night.
• 25:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, they're gonna have a tough time. Uh, you know,
• 25:17
Speaker 1: they have, They're off, they have They've lost both left
• 25:20
Speaker 1: and right tackles, both outstanding left and right tackles. And
• 25:26
  Speaker 1: it's a game. It's gonna be a scheme game. Uh.
• 25:31
Speaker 1: The team that adjusts is probably gonna win this game. Obviously.
• 25:34
Speaker 1: Even though we we love Drake may and uh he
• 25:38
Speaker 1: could be the league's most valuable player, He's only in
• 25:41
Speaker 1: the second year, which is gonna be his first playoff
• 25:43
Speaker 1: game tomorrow night. I mean, he's a kid who played
• 25:45
Speaker 1: didn't even play in a big time college football game postseason,
• 25:51
  Speaker 1: So we'll see. I think he'll be fine. Uh I.
• 25:54
Speaker 1: If again, if you're forced me to make a prediction,
• 25:57
Speaker 1: I think, uh I think the Patriots will will win.
• 26:01
  Speaker 1: I do.
• 26:02
Speaker 2: Now here's a little bold thing. Although I think you
• 26:05
Speaker 2: gotta trust Rogers, but I love C. J.
• 26:07
  Speaker 1: Stroud.
• 26:08
Speaker 2: I think he could beat the Steelers on Monday night.
• 26:10
Speaker 1: I just well, they have a much better team. I mean,
• 26:13
Speaker 1: there's the Steelers can't match the Texans at all. I
• 26:19
Speaker 1: mean it's the Texans have the best defense in the league.
• 26:23
  Speaker 1: But Alex, I don't know why. I just have a
• 26:28
Speaker 1: feeling on this game that somehow, even though Pittsburgh has
• 26:33
Speaker 1: trouble running the ball, I just you know, this is
• 26:37
Speaker 1: an indoor team playing in Pittsburgh outdoor team. I don't
• 26:41
Speaker 1: know what the weather's going to be on Monday night.
• 26:45
Speaker 1: I just have one of those weird feelings that Pittsburgh
• 26:52
Speaker 1: might advance. I mean, Rogers was brilliant the other night
• 26:55
Speaker 1: in the second half. You know, let's face it, the
• 26:59
Speaker 1: Steelers have no receivers and it at least they'll be
• 27:02
Speaker 1: getting Metcalf back this week from his ridiculous two game suspension.
• 27:06
Speaker 1: That he deserved. I don't know. There's something about this game.
• 27:12
Speaker 1: This game spews that that Houston should kill them. I
• 27:17
  Speaker 1: just don't think that's gonna happen. I have a feeling.
• 27:19
  Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if even Houston's gonna
• 27:21
  Speaker 1: win the game. I really own't. It's just a feeling
• 27:24
Speaker 1: I have about Pittsburgh on Monday Night.
• 27:27
Speaker 2: When Mike toumuld always pulls something to have his hat.
• 27:29
Speaker 1: I swear to God like he yeah, no he does.
• 27:31
Speaker 1: And again, if Pittsburgh does lose, is that the last
• 27:36
Speaker 1: game for Tomlin says, Hey, I'm gonna take a year off.
• 27:39
Speaker 1: I've been here a long time. It's time to move on.
• 27:43
Speaker 1: That's you know that. It's It's definitely another All these
• 27:46
Speaker 1: games are fascinating this weekend, and there's no Ma Holmes
• 27:49
Speaker 1: and there's no Detroit, and these games are still fascinating
• 27:53
Speaker 1: and everybody's gonna be watching it. It's gonna be a
• 27:55
Speaker 1: big ratings winner for for the NFL. So I'm excited
• 28:01
Speaker 1: about it. All right.
• 28:03
Speaker 2: Let me let me ask you this, Speaking of coaching
• 28:05
Speaker 2: and where anybody leaves, I'm gonna end up. I see
• 28:09
Speaker 2: the Miami Dolphins might be making offer to Harball. That's reported,
• 28:14
Speaker 2: but John Harbaugh out there. I do feel like the
• 28:18
Speaker 2: Giants gonna end up with Stefanski. I just get this
• 28:20
Speaker 2: weird feeling that they're gonna I wouldn't say settled for him,
• 28:22
Speaker 2: but they're gonna go for him because Harball might be
• 28:25
Speaker 2: too much of a price tag. I don't know.
• 28:27
Speaker 1: No, I think you're on to something there, Alex. And uh,
• 28:31
Speaker 1: if he gets Stefanski, it's not standing. I would not
• 28:34
Speaker 1: be settling for Stefanski. I think he's an outstanding coach offensively. Yeah,
• 28:39
Speaker 1: I know the Browns have stump the last couple of years.
• 28:41
Speaker 1: He's had a little to work with. But uh, no,
• 28:45
Speaker 1: I think that Stefanski, who actually interviewed with Baltimore yesterday Friday,
• 28:52
Speaker 1: it would be would be a good choice for the Giants.
• 28:56
  Speaker 1: There's a lot. I can't all these coaching open It's
• 29:01
  Speaker 1: just amazing.
• 29:01
Speaker 2: I don't only want to go for Raheem Morris. I
• 29:04
Speaker 2: don't know if he would be a good fit here.
• 29:07
Speaker 2: I see Matt Naggie's name floated about too, and remember
• 29:09
Speaker 2: that's a former Bear coach who had some success with
• 29:13
Speaker 2: the with the Bears. But and of course The other
• 29:16
Speaker 2: guy that got mentioned in Cleveland is Jim Schwartz, and
• 29:19
Speaker 2: I'm like, I remember sports from the Brown's era, so
• 29:21
Speaker 2: maybe they're going to bring.
• 29:22
Speaker 1: Up well, he's you know, he's a great defensive course
• 29:27
  Speaker 1: and he was. He was a d C of Stefanski's
• 29:30
Speaker 1: Browns this year and the Browns defense was as good
• 29:33
Speaker 1: as any in the league. Their offense stunk. So I
• 29:38
Speaker 1: know he's interviewed for a couple of head coaching jobs.
• 29:42
Speaker 2: And Lego season stats, did you know Breese Hall helped
• 29:46
Speaker 2: the Jets ranked tenths, I mean, in the top ten
• 29:50
Speaker 2: in rushing yards. I'm very surprised by that fact. But
• 29:53
Speaker 2: I saw that stat last week. I said, boy, even
• 29:55
Speaker 2: though the Jets fell apart, at least breeze Hall was
• 29:57
Speaker 2: still pretty solid the whole year.
• 29:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, I wonder if they're going to resign him, if
• 30:01
Speaker 1: they're going to use the franchise tag on I've resolved
• 30:04
Speaker 1: that's going to do that.
• 30:06
Speaker 2: I mean, they should, They'd be dumb not to, but.
• 30:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, I would say so, I said, I would say
• 30:10
Speaker 1: that they You're probably right because they could have even
• 30:15
Speaker 1: taken they could have even taken that fourth round draft
• 30:17
Speaker 1: choice from from the chiefs at the trade deadline decided
• 30:21
Speaker 1: not to, so I would have to say that they
• 30:25
Speaker 1: probably will franchise him if they can't come to a
• 30:28
Speaker 1: long term contract. All right, let's talk hockey real fast.
• 30:33
Speaker 2: And I got a head into the city for ast series. Okay,
• 30:37
Speaker 2: firstly I met Islander. I guess it was on in
• 30:41
Speaker 2: that for the one of the Cups. But hockey legend
• 30:45
Speaker 2: beside Islander legend, hockey legend, Chico Rush. Last week I
• 30:48
Speaker 2: saw him again and I said, yeah, I come on
• 30:50
Speaker 2: my show somebody. We'll get him on.
• 30:52
Speaker 1: But what's your memory of Chico?
• 30:53
Speaker 2: Like, what do you remember most? Because I remember as
• 30:55
  Speaker 2: an announcer.
• 30:56
Speaker 1: You remember it was a player. Well, he played on
• 31:00
Speaker 1: the first He was on the first Stanley Cup of
• 31:03
Speaker 1: the four for the Islanders, and for really for most
• 31:06
Speaker 1: of those early days when the Island of Dynasty was
• 31:09
Speaker 1: just forming, it was Chico was like one and Billy Smith,
• 31:15
Speaker 1: who ended up being in the Hall of Famer. And
• 31:17
Speaker 1: it's the best clutch goal he ever saw was one
• 31:22
Speaker 1: a he shout out Pittsburgh in the famous game seven
• 31:27
Speaker 1: won Nothing in nineteen seventy five when the Islands were
• 31:30
Speaker 1: down three nothing and they won the last four. They
• 31:35
Speaker 1: then they went to the next round. They were down three
• 31:37
Speaker 1: to nothing and they won the next three games against
• 31:39
Speaker 1: the Flyers, but lost game seven to the Flyers. Kate
• 31:42
Speaker 1: Smith was the same cancel anthem, excuse me, God, bless
• 31:46
Speaker 1: America live. He was in nets for that. He gave
• 31:50
Speaker 1: up an early goal. No, he was a great He
• 31:52
Speaker 1: was an outstanding NHL goalie. He was, and then he
• 31:57
Speaker 1: went to the he bounced around a little bit than
• 32:00
Speaker 1: When the Devil's moved from Colorado As to Colorado Rockies,
• 32:04
Speaker 1: to the Meadowlands to New Jersey, he was there. He
• 32:09
Speaker 1: was their best player, even though the team was absolutely horrendous.
• 32:14
Speaker 1: And really he's known as a Devil because he's been
• 32:19
Speaker 1: on the Devil telecasts for all those years. Then he
• 32:21
Speaker 1: retired as a broadcaster and after a year or two
• 32:24
Speaker 1: wanted to come back into broadcast thing. And he works with.
• 32:29
Speaker 2: You know, he was so much time. He and Doc
• 32:31
Speaker 2: Emrick used to spend time up in the booth with
• 32:33
Speaker 2: my dad and I, whether it be an intermission or
• 32:35
Speaker 2: pre or post like. He spent so much time with us,
• 32:39
Speaker 2: and it was just really good to connect with him.
• 32:43
Speaker 2: He and Gary Thorne because I listened to the Mets
• 32:46
Speaker 2: a lot, and obviously how he rose back. He is
• 32:49
Speaker 2: one of those guys I could say it was a
• 32:50
Speaker 2: voice of my childhood because I used to listen to
• 32:52
Speaker 2: him with Doc Emrick all the.
• 32:53
Speaker 1: Time, like I grew up. Well, there's no greater hockey
• 32:56
Speaker 1: announcer than Doc Emerck.
• 33:00
Speaker 2: Even just the goal scorer and the soliloquies he would
• 33:02
Speaker 2: say and all this other stuff he was.
• 33:04
Speaker 1: He was brilliant. Yeah, he was quite the wordsmith.
• 33:07
Speaker 2: I guess you would say.
• 33:08
Speaker 1: He certainly was. He certainly was the wordsmith. Uh themselves.
• 33:13
Speaker 1: You know, me and Maddie were talking a bit.
• 33:15
Speaker 2: I think they're all concerned they don't have enough pieces
• 33:17
Speaker 2: to make it make a run here, and they might be.
• 33:20
Speaker 2: You know, I think they have to put a maybe
• 33:22
Speaker 2: make a move or two right to to really solidify
• 33:25
Speaker 2: their playoff push here.
• 33:26
Speaker 1: They have to. I mean they are in total free
• 33:29
Speaker 1: for Remember they started eight and one and were dominant.
• 33:32
Speaker 1: They've gotten poor goaltending. You know, they thought that Jacob
• 33:35
Speaker 1: Markstrom was going to solve their goaltending. I did two
• 33:40
Speaker 1: and their goaltending hasn't been enough to snuff. They've been weak,
• 33:43
Speaker 1: as we said five on five there's something and the
• 33:47
Speaker 1: fact that they didn't get Quinn used I want and
• 33:49
Speaker 1: when everybody thought they were I wonder how that played
• 33:55
Speaker 1: on the team. How that affecond team Alex. This team
• 33:58
Speaker 1: looks looks bad, looks terrible, and I don't know if
• 34:02
Speaker 1: they're going to make a coaching staff change. The only
• 34:07
Speaker 1: assistant coach with NHL experience on the Devil's staff is
• 34:11
Speaker 1: Jeremy Collington, who was coach of the Blackhawks a couple
• 34:14
Speaker 1: of years back, and he coaches the Devil's power play,
• 34:17
Speaker 1: which has not been good. But there's something wrong there.
• 34:21
Speaker 1: They're too good to be out of the playoff spot.
• 34:26
  Speaker 1: They are, and I don't I mean, I don't know
• 34:28
Speaker 1: how they get that resolved, you know, which with fitz Fitzgerald,
• 34:32
Speaker 1: their GM has all these no trade clauses. You know,
• 34:35
Speaker 1: there's fifteen of them money on the Devils. But they
• 34:40
Speaker 1: got problems. They have problems, and I know you gotta go,
• 34:44
Speaker 1: but real quick, the Rangers have real problems too.
• 34:49
Speaker 2: I was gonna say, you know, this team wins the
• 34:51
Speaker 2: Winter Classic and I'm like, all right, that's gonna be
• 34:54
Speaker 2: the push they need. Then they come back to the
• 34:56
Speaker 2: Garden and they still can not.
• 34:59
Speaker 1: Win for their lights. I thought, now a couple of things.
• 35:05
Speaker 2: Like that was gonna start something about.
• 35:07
Speaker 1: A couple of quick things to Winter Classic should never
• 35:09
Speaker 1: be played in Florida. That's just me. It should be
• 35:12
Speaker 1: played in an Auber like if they did that one
• 35:14
Speaker 1: year and it was snowing or in Buffalo. It's and
• 35:18
Speaker 1: it's just another game. It's just like the Knicks. Just
• 35:21
Speaker 1: like the Knicks after that Bogus NBA Cup, They've lost
• 35:26
Speaker 1: five out of six. It's no momentum, it's not so
• 35:30
Speaker 1: but real quick at the Rangers obviously losing Igor Schusterkin
• 35:36
Speaker 1: for at least ten games, Adam Fox probably for the
• 35:41
Speaker 1: for about ten games. Those are two plays you can't replace.
• 35:46
Speaker 1: You can't replace Adam Fox. And you know I have
• 35:48
Speaker 1: I'm not the biggest Adam Fox fan, but the guy
• 35:50
Speaker 1: is an outstanding He's the best defenseman, he's the best
• 35:53
Speaker 1: offensive defenseman. He helps their power play. You know now
• 35:57
Speaker 1: that they're gonna have to make an internal decision what
• 35:59
Speaker 1: they do with the trade deadline. Who they trade? Do
• 36:02
Speaker 1: they trade Trocheck, who's gonna be a free agent? Do
• 36:05
Speaker 1: they trade Panarin? You know you hear that, maybe Colorado
• 36:10
Speaker 1: who doesn't need Panarin might be interested in Panera. Uh,
• 36:16
Speaker 1: you know, they're a loaded team to begin with. So
• 36:19
Speaker 1: that's what we got. What we gotta we gotta see.
• 36:21
Speaker 1: I mean with the Islanders, they've out exceeded expectations. I
• 36:25
Speaker 1: don't know if they're going to make the playoffs. They've
• 36:28
Speaker 1: had major injuries, they've been able to overcome them. I
• 36:30
Speaker 1: don't know if it's gonna be sustainable. But I'll just
• 36:33
Speaker 1: say this, Matthew Shaeffer last Saturday night against Toronto Maple
• 36:38
Speaker 1: leafs or that was put on an amazing show. I
• 36:41
Speaker 1: cannot believe that Matthew Schaeffer isn't one of the best
• 36:46
Speaker 1: eight Canadian boarding defensemen. It's not on the Olympic team.
• 36:50
Speaker 1: I'm glad he's not on the Olympic team. I want
• 36:52
Speaker 1: to see him get his three weeks rest. So if
• 36:54
Speaker 1: the Islanders are going to make a push, which they
• 36:57
Speaker 1: probably will for the for a playoff spot, I want healthy.
• 37:01
Speaker 1: But Alex, this kid is so good. He's not only
• 37:04
Speaker 1: leading in my opinion. When I'm gonna start talking about
• 37:06
Speaker 1: him as a leading candidate for the Norris Trophy as
• 37:09
Speaker 1: best defenseman, we know he's the leading candidate for the
• 37:12
Speaker 1: call the trophy as best rookie. He's been that good.
• 37:16
Speaker 1: It's remarkable to me. So at least he makes whether
• 37:21
Speaker 1: the Islanders make it or not, they got the foundation
• 37:24
Speaker 1: for it. Looks like an up and coming team for
• 37:28
Speaker 1: years to come. Matthew Schaeffer has been has has been
• 37:32
  Speaker 1: been remarkable, incredible.
• 37:33
Speaker 2: Yeah, I gotta get the video of him coming off
• 37:35
Speaker 2: the ice to all those cheers a couple of weeks ago.
• 37:37
Speaker 2: Like he just he's beloved it. It's only his first
• 37:41
Speaker 2: the first four months, first four months exactly, So Louis,
• 37:45
Speaker 2: We'll have to see how it all plays out. I
• 37:50
Speaker 2: just feel like it's sort of been underwhelming. I don't know,
• 37:52
Speaker 2: nothing really shocking has happened in hockey. Am I not
• 37:57
Speaker 2: following a lot or I just feel like everything's kind
• 37:59
Speaker 2: of Maybe the range are a bit of a shock,
• 38:01
  Speaker 2: but everything else.
• 38:03
Speaker 1: I mean, we just talked about We just talked about him,
• 38:06
Speaker 1: Matthew Schaeffer. Nobody thought he was gonna be this this good,
• 38:09
Speaker 1: this quick. Nobody thought that the Allens would be playing
• 38:12
Speaker 1: him twenty five minutes a game. You know, we talked
• 38:15
Speaker 1: about before the season began and we knew, Remember, we
• 38:18
Speaker 1: talked about his Bobby or type skills. But he's playing,
• 38:23
Speaker 1: he's playing on power play, he's killing penalties. I said,
• 38:26
Speaker 1: I remember we were talking, is he gonna be on
• 38:28
Speaker 1: the ice in the last five six minutes of the game?
• 38:30
Speaker 1: Are they going to take that chance? With the lead?
• 38:32
Speaker 1: Would they? Would they have him on the ice? The
• 38:36
Speaker 1: kid's been in every situation, and he's excelled in every situation.
• 38:40
  Speaker 1: I think I think he's one of he's the stories
• 38:43
Speaker 1: and he is definitely the story in the Eastern Conference.
• 38:46
Speaker 1: Montreal and the Buffalo Sabers. Buffalo Sabers, you know that
• 38:50
Speaker 1: tied with the Jets for the longest playoff draft and
• 38:55
Speaker 1: uh you know they have won twelve. By the third
• 39:00
Speaker 1: all their young players look like they they finally meshed together.
• 39:04
Speaker 1: And now you got them to look at. You got Montreal,
• 39:07
Speaker 1: a nice young team to look at that is on
• 39:10
Speaker 1: the upswing. And so no, I think it's and of
• 39:13
Speaker 1: course looking forward to the Olympics and in a couple
• 39:16
Speaker 1: of weeks that that'll be outstanding. I'll be watching every game.
• 39:21
Speaker 1: But yeah, I would have to say the number one
• 39:24
Speaker 1: story in Angel this year as from an individual, is
• 39:27
  Speaker 1: Matthew Schaeffer.
• 39:29
Speaker 2: Yeah, No, absolutely need a die, And I think to
• 39:33
Speaker 2: really understand what we're talking about, you got to experience
• 39:35
Speaker 2: it on the island. I think it's the only way
• 39:36
Speaker 2: to really get you gotta go to UBS and experience
• 39:39
Speaker 2: his his game because people are flooding over him, it
• 39:44
  Speaker 2: seems like already.
• 39:44
Speaker 1: So we'll have no they are and Ubs is a
• 39:47
Speaker 1: great arena, so a beautiful arena, comfortable, So yeah, get
• 39:53
Speaker 1: out there, see absolutely.
• 39:54
Speaker 2: All right, Louis, Well, always a pleasure having you on,
• 39:57
Speaker 2: and we'll do this again soon. Uh because by the
• 40:01
Speaker 2: time we do this next who knows, the Yang still
• 40:04
Speaker 2: may not make a move. I mean we're almost at
• 40:05
Speaker 2: spring training and they haven't.
• 40:07
  Speaker 1: Made one move.
• 40:08
  Speaker 2: But it's it's it's getting a little frushrating to see
• 40:10
Speaker 2: some of your mets. Your mets have not done much either,
• 40:13
Speaker 2: so it's kind of interesting.
• 40:14
Speaker 1: Yeah. No, we could talk about the frustration and with
• 40:19
Speaker 1: lack of adding to the roster, I don't know what
• 40:22
Speaker 1: texts going on, but we'll talk about that next time.
• 40:25
Speaker 2: All right, Luke Terminello, this was great and I will
• 40:28
Speaker 2: talk to you soon on the one like up network.
• 40:30
Speaker 2: Thanks for joining to start the new year, and Happy
• 40:32
  Speaker 2: New Year.
• 40:32
Speaker 1: Happy New Year. Alex, thanks for being Thanks thanks for
• 40:35
Speaker 1: having me. Always enjoy being with you.
