- 0:00Speaker 1: For all your mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast
- 0:05Speaker 1: Get Up even Closer on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok for
- 0:10Speaker 1: for dogging four to seven every weekday on radio.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Yeah, here we go, get a matte. It's a two hand, isn't.
- 0:19Speaker 3: It is a two handed? That was a three hand.
- 0:22Speaker 3: It was the three of us until recently and Jason's
- 0:24Speaker 3: had to shoot home. Will he be on for the
- 0:26Speaker 3: rest of the week? Who knows? Who knows knows?
- 0:29Speaker 2: We don't know. I don't know, like doing the weekend?
- 0:31Speaker 2: My guts is no, I'd say no the weekend.
- 0:34Speaker 3: We played golf yesterday at the most public, most popular
- 0:38Speaker 3: course in New Zealand with the most people that use it, right,
- 0:42Speaker 3: And it took five and a half hours and it
- 0:45Speaker 3: was a fucking joke, right, And I'm never playing there
- 0:48Speaker 3: on the weekend again, but it was good to be out.
- 0:51Speaker 2: What's it called Chamberlain, Right? Was that the one you
- 0:54Speaker 2: and just played it last week?
- 0:55Speaker 3: Yeah, during the week and then on the weekend you
- 0:57Speaker 3: just show up and play. Got there at eight third,
- 1:00Speaker 3: eight twenty. We were walking off at almost two o'clock
- 1:04Speaker 3: or something. It was ridiculous.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah, Jason's oh was there as well, yeah, how do
- 1:09Speaker 2: we go?
- 1:10Speaker 3: Ah bad? Yeah, because he said to full apart and
- 1:13Speaker 3: started to if and Jeff quite a lot. But when
- 1:16Speaker 3: I had the best round of his life, so that
- 1:17Speaker 3: was exciting.
- 1:18Speaker 2: How much was that ninety four ninety four baby, which
- 1:22Speaker 2: is pretty damn good.
- 1:23Speaker 3: How's your weekend?
- 1:24Speaker 2: It's good? Pil Jam. On the Friday, the I drove
- 1:29Speaker 2: out so I didn't have to so I couldn't get
- 1:32Speaker 2: drunk or drink. Did that work yep? Oh, well, drove home.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Wasn't beat by leave it? And then what happened Saturday? Saturday?
- 1:41Speaker 2: He had a mateback from the miracle, so I caught
- 1:43Speaker 2: up with him and then credit with some mates. Yesterday
- 1:45Speaker 2: we were going to the other pill Jam concert. So
- 1:49Speaker 2: good man, hot weekend.
- 1:50Speaker 3: It's hot, amazing weekend, really good. I was offered tickets
- 1:55Speaker 3: to pill Jam last night. Yeah, probably like an hour
- 1:59Speaker 3: before I would have had to have left to go
- 2:00Speaker 3: to it, right, And I was buggered. Lucy had made
- 2:04Speaker 3: dessert and it was about to get it already and
- 2:06Speaker 3: see it, and I was just like, nah, I can't do.
- 2:09Speaker 2: A ticket to a ticket two tickets? Right? She was there,
- 2:13Speaker 2: you go right? And I was like too tired, too. Yeah, jesus,
- 2:18Speaker 2: I'm working up at three. What'd you wake up at three?
- 2:23Speaker 3: I don't know, but I was pretty fucking naked and
- 2:26Speaker 3: I was like, you know, who'd hate that? I said
- 2:27Speaker 3: no to this old mogi.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I don't care, man, Yeah you don't. The whole wracky
- 2:33Speaker 2: Big Show were days from four on Radio Hurrachy, They
- 2:39Speaker 2: Big Show Podcast. I mean, I've told you how I
- 2:41Speaker 2: feel about it, man, do you know what I mean?
- 2:45Speaker 2: Gigs and that come along. I mean, look, you never
- 2:47Speaker 2: get an opportunity again to eat your wife's cooking, so
- 2:49Speaker 2: I understand why you've taken that as the option. I mean,
- 2:51Speaker 2: Pearl Gem's here every other weekend, that's right. The settlerst
- 2:55Speaker 2: was shit anyway. Last night. Out of the eleven songs
- 2:57Speaker 2: on ten, they played seven of them last week night.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Only seven.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Only seven play last ks, so I don't know. On
- 3:08Speaker 2: the Friday, the night Christ The thing about that song
- 3:12Speaker 2: is keasy. I think they've had two number ones in
- 3:14Speaker 2: New Zealand. One of them was Spinning the Black Circle
- 3:16Speaker 2: of Vitology, which is random because it's only because it
- 3:19Speaker 2: was the lead single that came out right and so
- 3:22Speaker 2: people were keen. So people were keen and they played
- 3:24Speaker 2: that on Friday, and the other one was Last Kiss,
- 3:27Speaker 2: which I regard is a fucking garbage song and unbearably bad.
- 3:33Speaker 3: So I heard that song way before I heard anything else,
- 3:36Speaker 3: and I thought when I heard Pearl Jam after that,
- 3:38Speaker 3: that it was like a different band, right, I had
- 3:40Speaker 3: the samely the singer, but it's completely different to the
- 3:42Speaker 3: song that I've heard of it. This is when I
- 3:43Speaker 3: was like twelve, yeah, ten um, yeah. So it's interesting, yeah,
- 3:48Speaker 3: because it's a cover Pearl.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Jam cover song of a Yeah, fifties or a sixty song.
- 3:52Speaker 2: There you go.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Pearl gems like a band for me that is good, yes,
- 3:58Speaker 3: but it's not one that makes me like really fizz up.
- 4:01Speaker 2: They're my favorite, but they're the first band that we
- 4:03Speaker 2: loved when we were teenagers. Yeah, And those first three
- 4:07Speaker 2: albums were all just absolutely huge. And then it's easy
- 4:10Speaker 2: now looking back, like, if you're getting into it, you go, well,
- 4:12Speaker 2: there's all these other albums which I've never gotten into.
- 4:14Speaker 2: After that, I was pretty much out. So if you're
- 4:17Speaker 2: looking at all of the albums, you go, I can
- 4:20Speaker 2: see why people wouldn't fizz But when they first came
- 4:23Speaker 2: out and it went ten versus Vitology. It was they were, yeah,
- 4:27Speaker 2: fucking unreal.
- 4:28Speaker 3: See mine's going to be Metallica next year. You see
- 4:30Speaker 3: that for me? Is like, no, I have to go
- 4:32Speaker 3: to that.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 3: In fact, it's almost one that I'd consider going to both.
- 4:35Speaker 3: It's only one show, isn't it. Yeah, so if the
- 4:38Speaker 3: same thing happen, which I'm relying on, I didn't get tickets, no,
- 4:43Speaker 3: but I'm sure we'll be able to suss. The big,
- 4:46Speaker 3: big venue old Edon Park.
- 4:48Speaker 2: It is a big venue, but it's sold out, you know, Yeah,
- 4:52Speaker 2: so what are you just going to get some shitter's
- 4:54Speaker 2: going to get someone online? Oh you're winking at me
- 4:56Speaker 2: like you're the man. I don't like that.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Does that all the time?
- 5:02Speaker 2: You know? A guy? I'm trying to jase you know that.
- 5:06Speaker 2: But then the other thing was I thought it was
- 5:08Speaker 2: I enjoyed the concert. I enjoyed it, but I don't
- 5:13Speaker 2: know if i'd go again. Really, yeah, your second time
- 5:16Speaker 2: seeing the second time? You know, I saw them in
- 5:18Speaker 2: ninety five, just because there's so many songs, you don't know.
- 5:21Speaker 2: So what do I have to do? Do I have
- 5:22Speaker 2: to go through and listen to all the back catalog
- 5:25Speaker 2: and get to know all of it so I can
- 5:26Speaker 2: enjoy all of it. The people there that were going
- 5:27Speaker 2: off the whole time, they knew all of the songs, right,
- 5:30Speaker 2: but it was over two hours, Yeah, and I was
- 5:32Speaker 2: just like.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Yeah, what was their encore song?
- 5:37Speaker 2: Did they do an ONCRE five? They just Breathe was
- 5:40Speaker 2: the first one on his little guitar. There. They did
- 5:43Speaker 2: State of Love and Trust Kisie, that's a banger. That's
- 5:46Speaker 2: a good Alive. I don't think State of Love and
- 5:50Speaker 2: Trust wasn't, but Alive certainly was. Keep on rocking in
- 5:53Speaker 2: the Free World was the last last one where he
- 5:56Speaker 2: threw out about forty tenbourines to the crowd, which is
- 6:00Speaker 2: such a synonymous instrument with pil jam tamb It's like
- 6:05Speaker 2: it was a guy throwing him tambourine so that he
- 6:07Speaker 2: could throw them into the crowd. It's such a weird. Yeah. Yeah,
- 6:11Speaker 2: so they had about five bloody good Yeah, it was awesome.
- 6:14Speaker 2: They're unreal. His voice is so good, but yeah, I
- 6:18Speaker 2: don't know, it's amazing on my feet and I'm such
- 6:20Speaker 2: a moment when it comes to like long seats.
- 6:23Speaker 3: And you're in a good spot there, you're right at
- 6:24Speaker 3: the front at the front.
- 6:25Speaker 2: That part was great, and I just prefer smaller venues,
- 6:29Speaker 2: I think, yeah, right, okay, you know that's beautiful night.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Do you think Pearl Jam will ever get to the
- 6:34Speaker 3: point because how old would he go to be? And
- 6:36Speaker 3: his voice is still sweet?
- 6:37Speaker 2: It's amazing. Yeah, I'm going to get fifty six. I
- 6:41Speaker 2: don't know.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Fifty Oh wow?
- 6:43Speaker 2: Was he fifty nine? He looks?
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yeah, shit, Okay, surely they get to a point where
- 6:48Speaker 3: they go all right from now and we're just doing
- 6:49Speaker 3: the bangers, you know what you mean, like now.
- 6:52Speaker 2: But I think they'd be the opposite. They would go
- 6:54Speaker 2: I only want to play the new shit, right, because
- 6:56Speaker 2: that's so imagine top of playing that stuff. Have you
- 6:59Speaker 2: been playing for thirty years?
- 7:00Speaker 3: Over thirty years, the Stones just play their ship though,
- 7:03Speaker 3: they just play the bangers. Yeah, you look a sitless
- 7:07Speaker 3: to this and it's literally just complete greatest hits and
- 7:09Speaker 3: that's it.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and maybe one new song. Yeah, Melton John did
- 7:14Speaker 2: it and he's talk about that. Yeah, you mentioned he's
- 7:16Speaker 2: going to do three. Go get a drink, drink and
- 7:18Speaker 2: go for a purse while I play these new songs
- 7:20Speaker 2: that you'll hate.
- 7:21Speaker 3: And then everyone goes and does it. And he starts
- 7:22Speaker 3: playing rocket Man.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Imagine that. Yeah yeah, yeah, but it was bloody good
- 7:28Speaker 2: and a good weekend.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Oh that's great man, that's really good.
- 7:32Speaker 2: How about you, though, right, yeah, good to be back. Yes,
- 7:36Speaker 2: it's good to be. It's good to.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Be actually, oh wow, wow, hey, listen to the Hudacky
- 7:44Speaker 3: Big Show though four to seven. It's really good, so
- 7:46Speaker 3: good man, who are gonna love that?
