- 0:00SPEAKER_02: You need to read this again and refresh, folks.
- 0:02SPEAKER_02: Uh and I want you to listen very close to the words that Allie says says here.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: Says she says.
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: Uh because there's a piece of that's that there's a certain line in what you're about to read that has triggered this thought in my head.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: Was it wrong for me to make Father's Day plans without consulting my wife first?
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: Father's Day being two weeks away, my two brothers called me and asked me if we all wanted to get our families together and let's celebrate the day all together.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: My brother Andy said he'd host the party.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: So I said, Great! And that was that.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: When I told my wife about the plans, she got really mad at me for not calling her first to run the plans by her.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: She didn't have a problem with the plans.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: She just wanted to be a part of making them.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: I thought this was crazy and brought up that she's never asked me if I'm okay with the plans she makes on a regular basis, let alone Mother's Day.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: She told me it's different, but I just can't explain why.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: Now the ending right there, it's different, but I can't explain why.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Triggers me to go.
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: She's got an issue with w either one of the brothers or one of the sisters or somebody in the family that's gonna be there.
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: Maybe it's it I there's just something that says it.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: Read the first line one more time.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: The very first line.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: The Father's Day is two weeks away, or was it wrong for me to make Father's Day plans without consulting?
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: Well, after the Father's Day is two weeks away.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: Uh okay.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Father's Day is two weeks away.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: My two brothers called me and asked me if we all wanted to get our families together to celebrate that day.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: My brother Andy said he'd host the party.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: So and he's gonna host it from there.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: So uh my two brothers called me.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: This is different than, you know, uh you saying, um, hey, our buddy Tony called and they're gonna do a big bonfire, and I said we're all going.
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: And she's like, you know, I just wanted to relax.
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right, right.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: This this is very different.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: This is like it's it's a family thing, so you have to go.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: There's an obligation that's attached to this.
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: And well, anyway, I'm gonna come over to Kimberly because she sent us a voice message.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: Well, go ahead, what do you think?
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Hey, good morning, Scott and Allie.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: It's interesting because you're just reading that situation where the you can say good morning.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Good morning, Scott.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so when she's like, oh, he should have consulted with her first, she's either very controlling or I agree with Scott.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: There's somebody that she doesn't um get along with because it doesn't sound like she was making plans, and it also doesn't sound like she had a problem with the plans being made, but you have to run it by her first.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: But if the shoe was on the other foot, she's like, No, I don't have to run anything by you because it's different.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Girl, go sit down.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Go sit down.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: She's controlling.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: No, not you.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: I was saying that the wife needs to go sit down.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, God, I love her.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: I love her too.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay, so they there is some truth to what she's saying there.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: This feels different than just being controlling.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: Now, the family thing, you had said she doesn't like somebody in the family.
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: I think there's an issue somewhere in that she has not told her husband about.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Do you think that if she would have known, she would have tried to change the plans and go, oh, well, I actually have plans for us for Father's Day?
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: No, I think honestly, and maybe uh I'm not a woman.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: I know that's shocking.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: But isn't there some truth to the fact that even when you have, all right, I'll do this delicately because I don't want to put you in an uncomfortable position.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: In a previous relationship, to my knowledge, there was one family member you did not connect with at all.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: And sometimes, but you still had to endure.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, sometimes.
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: Sometimes isn't it nice to get that heads up to go?
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Oh, like mentally prepare.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: I understand.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: This is important.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: So that's why I'm thinking it's somebody in the family.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, I get it.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: So, like, I'll give you an idea.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: I'll give you a great example.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: The Crown Jewels uh had told Tiffany, she goes, Hey, any plans for 4th of July?
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: You know, meaning like a cookout or something.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: And apparently it was Tiffany or somebody said, Well, we could all go to Nani's and do a cookout there.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: And I go, or they could all come to our house and we could do a cookout where I'm more comfortable just being at home.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: You see, you can you you get a chance to pre-arrange unless there's something else going on.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Now I can, okay, I can see that it might be a family member, but I also can see, because I realize now more and more as time goes on, how controlling I am about my plans.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: And and I say that because I do always make plans.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: And I I I try to be respectful to Zach and say, but mine's more like, hey, was talking to Elena and we're thinking about doing X, Y, and Z.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: As opposed to like if he was to just come out and be like, we're having dinner with Lucas on Tuesday, I'd be like, hold up.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: So I understand the controlling part too.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: For some reason.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: But if you did the same thing, it's okay.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: I don't get that.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: I don't get it either, and it's my brain.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: And that's not fair.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: It's not.
- 5:09SPEAKER_02: Actually, good for you for saying that.
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: Look at 7453.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: They said she needs to get over it.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: It's Father's Day.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: He made a plan, period.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Is that that's true?
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: I think for Father's Day, you get to do what you want.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: You're the dad, you know?
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: Well, I don't even say he wants to do it.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: It seems like the respectful thing to do.
- 5:22SPEAKER_02: Not everybody is like, oh, okay, lots to all family, you know, get together.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: Sometimes it's just like, well, that's what's expected.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: And since somebody put that out there, that's what we'll do.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: 2457, she's the jerk, not him.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: Controlling the boss, how stupid I pick my battles.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: I and and this is where like the Father's Day thing is.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: I think you're right.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: No matter what, they should absolutely do what he planned.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: But there's something more there.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: And that's what I want to know.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: It's the other, other every day or weekend plans that I'm like, don't tell me what to do.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: Oh my!
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: But you can tell me what to do.
