- 0:08Speaker 1: Friday.
- 0:08Speaker 2: We're about to go into a weekend where I assume
- 0:10Speaker 2: Catherine's going to do half the amount of work that
- 0:12Speaker 2: she's done for the rest of the season, but we're
- 0:14Speaker 2: going to make her work for the full session. Now
- 0:17Speaker 2: you're a No Dribble strapping Hello and welcome to No Dribble,
- 0:32Speaker 2: the podcast where we talk about Catherine's workload, we talk
- 0:34Speaker 2: about netball, we talk about so much more. My name's
- 0:36Speaker 2: Caroline Swindle.
- 0:38Speaker 3: My name is hello, my name is lose Alice.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Hi.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Are you getting tired towards the end of the season.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Your voice broke a little just before.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I'm very emotional sitting next to you. Yes, leading into
- 0:50Speaker 2: this weekend. Look, it makes me sad when we get
- 0:54Speaker 2: to the end of the regular season because then you
- 0:56Speaker 2: get two games of netball, then you get two games
- 0:58Speaker 2: of netball, then you get one game with netball. Now,
- 1:01Speaker 2: in fact, you get two games in netball, you get
- 1:03Speaker 2: one game in all right, Yeah, so.
- 1:04Speaker 3: I had two one one, so they're on.
- 1:06Speaker 2: The same day.
- 1:06Speaker 4: It would have been better to spread them out.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it would have been better to spread them out
- 1:09Speaker 2: because then people could go to both.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Yeah, now, well that's true.
- 1:13Speaker 2: You could do an adelaide person. You could a weekend
- 1:16Speaker 2: look just as well. There's only two games of netball
- 1:18Speaker 2: this weekend. Because send me thoughts and strength please. I
- 1:24Speaker 2: will be hosting a thirteenth birthday party for eighteen young women.
- 1:30Speaker 3: What does that have? The rule like? So, don't you
- 1:32Speaker 3: have the rule that you have as many friends as
- 1:34Speaker 3: your age?
- 1:35Speaker 2: That's a good rule. Why didn't you tell me that beforehand?
- 1:38Speaker 3: Well, because hell, I didn't tell you that because I
- 1:40Speaker 3: didn't know you're having a third eighth birthday party. Because
- 1:42Speaker 3: I thought that I had given you the great idea
- 1:45Speaker 3: of mine, which is my kids only get a birthday
- 1:47Speaker 3: party every five years. So what on earth you're doing
- 1:50Speaker 3: having a third eighth birthday party? My kids get five, ten,
- 1:52Speaker 3: fifteen because it's a part of year. They're both so excited.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Oh you didn't plan that, well, did you? No?
- 1:58Speaker 3: I did time. I know I should have that when
- 2:00Speaker 3: I was when I was making Austin. But anyhow, I
- 2:04Speaker 3: was thinking about birthday parties frankly. But well, I don't
- 2:08Speaker 3: mind it because Austin's in April, so he's had his,
- 2:10Speaker 3: and then Gival in September, so there's a bit of
- 2:13Speaker 3: talent and then then we're done for four years.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Yeah, thinking all right, so what's the plan with that
- 2:18Speaker 4: many things?
- 2:19Speaker 2: Well, this is the beauty of owning a gym, So
- 2:23Speaker 2: we own a CrossFit gym, and so we will be
- 2:26Speaker 2: down there. That's just basically an indestructible box full of things.
- 2:30Speaker 2: So we've got you know, ropes and rings that they
- 2:33Speaker 2: can swing from. We'll have a lot of games and
- 2:35Speaker 2: stuff and then we'll do a sausage sizzle and then
- 2:37Speaker 2: we'll say go away, it's not.
- 2:39Speaker 4: In the house clever.
- 2:40Speaker 2: No, No, that's good.
- 2:42Speaker 3: How's your insurances good?
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yea, we are ensured up to the Hilton.
- 2:47Speaker 4: You're thinking about several businesses and bells dropped on feet.
- 2:50Speaker 3: And I'm just thinking about sane. I was probably not
- 2:53Speaker 3: thinking through consequences particularly.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Well, well, we have done parties there before, so you
- 2:58Speaker 2: know our host radio, although we have never done a
- 3:01Speaker 2: rodeo there, to be fair, so maybe it would be
- 3:04Speaker 2: our first rodeo were we to run a rodeo.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I know this is controversial. Well I went to a
- 3:10Speaker 3: radio and it's controversial because there are people who don't
- 3:13Speaker 3: like them, and I acknowledge that. But there was a
- 3:15Speaker 3: rodeo a few years ago out at Cuyogle, which is
- 3:17Speaker 3: not far from where I live, and I took the
- 3:20Speaker 3: kids out and they're all excited until the first rider
- 3:23Speaker 3: got bucked into a poll and the first of the
- 3:27Speaker 3: line of ambulances pulled up and got the rider and
- 3:29Speaker 3: took him off. And then it was like three or
- 3:31Speaker 3: four ambulances in a line the whole night, and every
- 3:33Speaker 3: time someone got hurt, and I was like, maybe this
- 3:35Speaker 3: was a bit graphic to my children. It never occurred
- 3:37Speaker 3: to me little kids.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I've been to a number of rodeos. The first rodeo
- 3:41Speaker 2: I went to was the Catherine Rodeo up in the
- 3:44Speaker 2: Northern Territory.
- 3:45Speaker 3: And did you walk in and say, hello, this is
- 3:47Speaker 3: my first rodeo because that was.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Well, this was back in the nineties when people didn't
- 3:51Speaker 2: go around professing how many rodeos they had been to.
- 3:55Speaker 2: They kept that private to themselves. Now in twenty twenty six,
- 3:59Speaker 2: it's like everyone thinks everyone needs to know my business
- 4:03Speaker 2: about how many radios I've been.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Such a good opportunity there, snack.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I'm just laughing. I've been to a few Catterine radio.
- 4:13Speaker 4: I thought the first thing.
- 4:19Speaker 5: Laughing I could have, Oh my god, there's been some
- 4:24Speaker 5: radio clowns.
- 4:24Speaker 2: And more than eight seconds.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Oh dear, oh dear, you're a good sport.
- 4:44Speaker 4: I've hurt myself though you actually have for real? Okay,
- 4:50Speaker 4: oh dear.
- 4:52Speaker 3: You go the bulls. I know I didn't. Yeah, anyhow,
- 4:56Speaker 3: there was too many lines in the confused.
- 5:01Speaker 2: So Catherine, Katherine with the sea, we're not talking about
- 5:04Speaker 2: the Catrin Rodeo anymore. Catherine in the Northern Spot with
- 5:07Speaker 2: a k How many radios have you been to?
- 5:09Speaker 4: I have not, okay, but I want to do a
- 5:11Speaker 4: legit in Texas, one to as my first one.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Why is that legit? Well, you know, like real go
- 5:19Speaker 2: to the cowboys canamble rodeo. That is sensational to go
- 5:24Speaker 2: to any Yeah, well, I know, Liz, as you say
- 5:26Speaker 2: there are people who don't like them, and for quite
- 5:29Speaker 2: valid reasons, but they're awesome.
- 5:33Speaker 4: They really watched enough Yellowstone and now into Dutton Ranch
- 5:37Speaker 4: in a big way. Then I would love to go
- 5:39Speaker 4: to a rodeo.
- 5:41Speaker 2: What about that thing you sent us with all the cowboys?
- 5:44Speaker 3: Oh yes, Catherine, just say, you know that's not what.
- 5:49Speaker 4: They don't have shirts open.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I mean anyhow, I reckon you should go to a
- 5:55Speaker 3: country radio like it's you should go. It's fun and
- 6:00Speaker 3: this like there's an Australian Professional bull Riders Associations. Go
- 6:03Speaker 3: to the website, tell you where to go.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Oh okay, right on that, there we go.
- 6:07Speaker 2: That's another no Dripple recommends for us. Liz, how many
- 6:11Speaker 2: radios have you been to?
- 6:13Speaker 3: I don't know a couple, not including Catherine. How about you.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Anyway, So it's just for you that it is your
- 6:25Speaker 2: first radio, Catherine. But yeah, we look forward.
- 6:27Speaker 4: To how did we even get onto this topic?
- 6:31Speaker 2: Oh, because we were talking about my daughter's birthday party.
- 6:34Speaker 2: And it's not.
- 6:38Speaker 4: What's wrong with us?
- 6:40Speaker 2: No, Liz very responsibly raised the risk assessment part of
- 6:43Speaker 2: the party. You know, you're getting middle aged when that's
- 6:46Speaker 2: what you think of, isn't it. But it's like, what's
- 6:48Speaker 2: the insurance coverage for this event that we're doing?
- 6:51Speaker 4: But don't you love how quickly she snaps back into lizellous. Yes,
- 6:53Speaker 4: it goes from last time to talking about cowboys.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Oh, dear, dear.
- 6:59Speaker 2: We should take a little break and then come back
- 7:01Speaker 2: and talk a bit about did you know this like
- 7:03Speaker 2: some netball on this weekend? Some finals? Let's take a.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Break, okay, Doki?
- 7:21Speaker 2: So four four teams. The season is done for all
- 7:24Speaker 2: of Queensland, for all of New South Finales Netball, super
- 7:28Speaker 2: Netball is done for the year. That's okay, this heaps
- 7:31Speaker 2: moore to comp We've got the you know, we've got
- 7:34Speaker 2: Club Netball, Association netball, we've got Commonwealth games coming up.
- 7:38Speaker 2: But before all of that, we have the sun Corps
- 7:41Speaker 2: Super Netball Finals series. And there what's this weekend called?
- 7:45Speaker 2: Is it the preliminary finals?
- 7:47Speaker 4: This is the semi final, semi the minor semifinal and
- 7:50Speaker 4: the major semifinal, and then next week will be the
- 7:53Speaker 4: prelim final.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Aren't they really the quarterfinals and the semi finals. I
- 7:56Speaker 2: don't understand why we use this language.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Quarterfinals are the quarterfinals when there's four games eighteen?
- 8:03Speaker 2: I thought it was you kind of. I thought it
- 8:05Speaker 2: was about stepping closer to the final. I thought it
- 8:08Speaker 2: was as a subset of the final.
- 8:10Speaker 3: But yeah, I just quorter indicates four Yeah, does it not?
- 8:16Speaker 2: But semi the semi indicates the week before the grand final.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I know you have. I'm just saying we all do.
- 8:24Speaker 2: But I don't really understand why we don't use the
- 8:26Speaker 2: language that other.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Sports use because we're different Okay, we're awesome here. We
- 8:31Speaker 4: are at the minor and the Major semi finals. All right,
- 8:34Speaker 4: we're at the minor and the Major semi finals. So
- 8:36Speaker 4: which is played first, Catherine? It is the Major semi
- 8:38Speaker 4: final Adelaide, which I will be doing.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Really, that's exciting for you.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Fruit chocks.
- 8:43Speaker 4: For me, that's even more exciting. I didn't think about that.
- 8:46Speaker 4: There's white chocolate and pineapple ones. Now I digress, and then.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Please bring me back a packet of the white chocolate
- 8:52Speaker 2: and pineapple ones. Yeah, thank you.
- 8:54Speaker 3: I know people, I hate white chocolate.
- 8:57Speaker 2: It's not actually chocolate exactly.
- 8:59Speaker 3: It's not chocolate. Tell me that what it is.
- 9:03Speaker 2: But there's there's some you can still like it, but
- 9:05Speaker 2: it's not chocolate.
- 9:06Speaker 4: It's like a Now let me scare you. Is there
- 9:09Speaker 4: something scary in it? If there is, don't tell me.
- 9:11Speaker 4: So let me tell you another story. I bought some
- 9:14Speaker 4: musk sticks. Well, Harper was reading the ingredients on the
- 9:23Speaker 4: back of it. It's got a beef flavoring. She's like, mum,
- 9:27Speaker 4: beef And I was like, oh god, really, I had
- 9:29Speaker 4: it half in my mouth at the time. To which.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Is that a gelatine beef keleton gelatine.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Yes, no, clearly but gross anyway, Yes, I'll get onto that,
- 9:44Speaker 4: and then the minor semi final is in per straight after.
- 9:49Speaker 4: So how was this Sunday? If you've got nothing on? Well,
- 9:52Speaker 4: if you do have something on, cancel it immediately and
- 9:56Speaker 4: sit in front of your Telly with your favorite beverage
- 9:58Speaker 4: and some snacks and you not moving for four hours.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I was so torn on the weekend as to whether
- 10:04Speaker 2: to go to the game or not, because I had
- 10:06Speaker 2: gigs Friday and Saturday night, so and that does take
- 10:10Speaker 2: a lot out of me, and so I didn't know
- 10:12Speaker 2: whether to go. And then of course it started pissing
- 10:15Speaker 2: down as we were going into the stadium, and it
- 10:17Speaker 2: was quite slow getting in, like the game would have started,
- 10:20Speaker 2: with some hundreds of people out still in the queue.
- 10:24Speaker 2: And all I could think of was I've got such
- 10:27Speaker 2: a nice couch and I've got a cocktail cart, and
- 10:30Speaker 2: my TV is big, and my slippers are lovely, and
- 10:34Speaker 2: I'm just hoping that it is the most miserable wintery
- 10:38Speaker 2: day in Sydney this Sunday and I can just sync
- 10:42Speaker 2: in and watch TV for four hours and I don't
- 10:45Speaker 2: want anyone to speak to me.
- 10:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I do you know. I love live sport, obviously
- 10:49Speaker 4: because we're involved in it all the time in the stadium,
- 10:52Speaker 4: But I don't know that I'm that big a fan
- 10:54Speaker 4: that I would leave the house. So good on you.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Well, I knew it was going to be a special game, right, so,
- 11:00Speaker 2: and I'm so glad I did. Once you're out the door,
- 11:03Speaker 2: life happens more better when you're out the door.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Right.
- 11:05Speaker 2: We talked about this with Kirk Wonnegut and go out
- 11:08Speaker 2: and get an envelope and it was wonderful and the
- 11:12Speaker 2: I'm so pleased I was there for that moment. But yeah,
- 11:16Speaker 2: I'm also really pleased that I don't have to make
- 11:17Speaker 2: a decision this weekend. I could Liz ellisit this Sunday
- 11:21Speaker 2: and watch the watch the game remotely.
- 11:24Speaker 4: What refuge we have in hand? Just quickly before we
- 11:26Speaker 4: get back to the actual topic.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Look, I'll probably go with a boulevardierre.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Are you familiar with this? It's like a it's a Negroni,
- 11:33Speaker 2: but instead of gin, it's bourbon. So it's a night
- 11:36Speaker 2: I find it a much warmer, more wintery cocktail. And excitingly,
- 11:41Speaker 2: my wonderful husband, we've got this grapefruit tree out the
- 11:44Speaker 2: back and it is very prolific. And he's taken the
- 11:48Speaker 2: grapefruits and he's juiced them and made these beautiful ice
- 11:51Speaker 2: balls for the cocktails. Oh that sit in there just
- 11:55Speaker 2: and then release that grapefruit flavor, because grapefruits gross, let's
- 12:00Speaker 2: be honest. But in a cocktail.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Well, maybe I'll get out of kind of adelaide and
- 12:04Speaker 4: come over here.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you'll both be watching it and it'll
- 12:10Speaker 3: be like silent netball.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Yes.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Well it'll be good for me because Catherine will be
- 12:16Speaker 2: in my ear, but for everyone else it's quite shit.
- 12:19Speaker 4: We do our commentary, then that would be good. It
- 12:21Speaker 4: would awesome, awesome game. So the winner of the first
- 12:25Speaker 4: game double shot at that one. So the winner goes
- 12:27Speaker 4: straight through to the grand final. They get the week off,
- 12:29Speaker 4: and there's always lots of chat around is it better
- 12:31Speaker 4: to have a week off or is it not? And
- 12:33Speaker 4: then the loser will play the winner of the minor
- 12:36Speaker 4: semi final the following week. So the loser of the
- 12:39Speaker 4: West Coast Fever MAVs game will play the loser.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Of the Sorry, the winner winner of that you play
- 12:45Speaker 2: the loser of the major and one of the MAVs
- 12:48Speaker 2: or Fever gone after that game, so that they've got
- 12:51Speaker 2: one one shot at this.
- 12:54Speaker 4: The Maps would be feeling good though about having to
- 12:56Speaker 4: go to Perth and do this, because they did it
- 12:58Speaker 4: a couple of weeks ago. They won. It was a
- 13:00Speaker 4: sellout crowd. Yeah, talks about the Green Army and how
- 13:04Speaker 4: hard it is to play there, but they did it well.
- 13:07Speaker 2: They did it, and I think the game before that,
- 13:09Speaker 2: the Swifts did it. Like the Fever have been beaten
- 13:12Speaker 2: at home a couple of times this season, and that
- 13:14Speaker 2: rac Arena. I love it amazing where I went to
- 13:17Speaker 2: that game, the Fever Giants game whenever. That was when
- 13:21Speaker 2: I with your propeller had on with my propeller, had
- 13:25Speaker 2: good times. It's good times. More workplace humiliation. I love that.
- 13:30Speaker 4: So quick tip, who do you think let's go major
- 13:33Speaker 4: semi in Adelaide Thunderbirds yep, buy a substantial margin or
- 13:38Speaker 4: do we think a lot closer than before?
- 13:39Speaker 2: I reckon it'll be fairly convincing.
- 13:42Speaker 3: What do you think I have to go to the
- 13:44Speaker 3: home team, don't I say Thunderbirds?
- 13:46Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I would do that too. Okay, So thunderbed
- 13:49Speaker 4: straight to the GF and then Fever and Mavericks.
- 13:54Speaker 2: I'm going to go Fever because I think they've got
- 13:58Speaker 2: a lot of experience in these big game moments. Now,
- 14:02Speaker 2: you know, I said last week I think the MAVs
- 14:04Speaker 2: can win this. I still think they can. I would
- 14:07Speaker 2: actually love to see that, love to see them win it.
- 14:09Speaker 2: But I think that watching what I saw of Fever
- 14:12Speaker 2: on the weekend last year, they lost the Grand Final
- 14:17Speaker 2: by a goal, and that will be sitting very heavily,
- 14:22Speaker 2: very present with them. And then you know, they've just
- 14:26Speaker 2: got a lot of big game experience in recent years.
- 14:30Speaker 2: So I think that Fever will edge out the MAVs,
- 14:32Speaker 2: which is great news for the MAVs because I never
- 14:35Speaker 2: tip anything correctly. Oh there you go.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Sorry, Fever.
- 14:39Speaker 3: I say Fever because I have to tick the home team.
- 14:44Speaker 3: But Catherine, you yeah, I don't.
- 14:47Speaker 4: I really don't know about this one. I would have
- 14:50Speaker 4: definitely said the MAVs had the Fever not had a
- 14:52Speaker 4: good game, particularly when the margin got out as big
- 14:56Speaker 4: as it did. And now with the Green Army and
- 14:58Speaker 4: not having to travel again, surely they're on the front foot. Surely,
- 15:04Speaker 4: but I'm not committing to it.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I don't know what you've said there like, have you
- 15:08Speaker 2: said anything? No?
- 15:10Speaker 4: You did?
- 15:11Speaker 2: You end up saying fever No.
- 15:14Speaker 4: I pointed to the fact that they might be better off.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Well, you heard it here.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Don't forget to tune into the No Dribble podcast every
- 15:23Speaker 2: week to hear nothing of any substanable value.
- 15:27Speaker 4: That's what we build the whole brand on, isn't it.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I have a question, and Catherine, this might be more
- 15:32Speaker 2: for you. So our two teams that are heaviest in
- 15:38Speaker 2: diamonds being Lightning and Vixen's not looking great at the
- 15:44Speaker 2: end of the Super Apple season and we're about to
- 15:46Speaker 2: go into the Commonwealth Games. Is this something Stacy Marinkovich
- 15:51Speaker 2: would be worrying about at this stage.
- 15:55Speaker 4: I think she'll be very excited about a final series
- 15:59Speaker 4: because that's where the best of the best come out,
- 16:01Speaker 4: and that will give her a much clearer indication of
- 16:04Speaker 4: what she's dealing with and potentially what she needs to
- 16:06Speaker 4: work on in this very short window that they have
- 16:10Speaker 4: before the comm Games. The team is announced this week,
- 16:15Speaker 4: I believe, Oh wow, yeah, so that's that'll be very
- 16:19Speaker 4: very interesting. But I think she will be very positive
- 16:22Speaker 4: about this. Maybe not so some of the performances towards
- 16:26Speaker 4: the end of the rounds for those sides. And I
- 16:29Speaker 4: get we're saying because Lightning now don't have another chance
- 16:31Speaker 4: to play, will she be concerned about those players? Victionens
- 16:34Speaker 4: do though, So they've got to They've got a chance
- 16:36Speaker 4: to turn it around a bit, get some form all
- 16:39Speaker 4: of that sort of stuff that I also feel like
- 16:40Speaker 4: this is when the best rise to the top.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Can I ask a question? The teams announced this week,
- 16:46Speaker 2: So what was the point of announcing a squad? They
- 16:49Speaker 2: haven't gone into camp and then there's invitees. I don't know.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Can you someone to help me explain that.
- 16:55Speaker 4: The squad will be what they fall back on after
- 16:57Speaker 4: the coom Oth Game. So this team selected is for
- 16:59Speaker 4: comm Games. Squad will see them through to the Constellation
- 17:03Speaker 4: Cup and whatever test series they have at the start
- 17:05Speaker 4: of next year, and they might chop and change that
- 17:08Speaker 4: in the lead up to the World Cup.
- 17:10Speaker 2: So the squad, whether or not they've been announced, because
- 17:13Speaker 2: as you know, we record on a Monday, this has
- 17:15Speaker 2: been released on a front. An's already been in the
- 17:17Speaker 2: squad regardless of whether they're in the team for the
- 17:19Speaker 2: comm Games, will go into Diamonds camp together.
- 17:22Speaker 4: No, not now, No, they will post Commonwealth Games Okay, yeah, okay,
- 17:28Speaker 4: because there's not enough time, like they may take they'll
- 17:31Speaker 4: probably take reserves in I think for match play, but
- 17:33Speaker 4: if they're jumping on a plane and going somewhere prior,
- 17:36Speaker 4: which they often do, they won't take the reserves to that.
- 17:40Speaker 2: What's the point in announcing the squad? Shouldn't they just
- 17:43Speaker 2: announce the team and then later on go and now
- 17:46Speaker 2: we're extending this beyond the team to include these other players.
- 17:50Speaker 3: I think it's just always the way it's been done,
- 17:52Speaker 3: the way it's been done, and I think just announcing
- 17:55Speaker 3: like it adds to the squad also, like it's a
- 17:57Speaker 3: nice recognition even yeah women, for the women who don't
- 18:01Speaker 3: make that come Wealth Games team, they know they're in
- 18:03Speaker 3: the squad. And it also then allows them to plan
- 18:06Speaker 3: through to the end of the year, Like if you
- 18:08Speaker 3: name a squad later and if you like you need
- 18:11Speaker 3: to know what you're gonna do with your annual leave
- 18:12Speaker 3: and all that sort of stuff, so you've got some
- 18:15Speaker 3: certainty in your life. And I just think it makes sense,
- 18:18Speaker 3: here's your squad, the team will be named from this
- 18:20Speaker 3: and off we go.
- 18:22Speaker 4: And also injuries, you know, things can happen. You need
- 18:24Speaker 4: to be able to pull from some sort of pool.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Interesting, So there you go. But big games this weekend.
- 18:31Speaker 2: I'm excited, Big games this weekend. I'm so excited.
- 18:35Speaker 3: All so sad.
- 18:37Speaker 2: But we're only a few weeks away from our Grand
- 18:40Speaker 2: Final Eve event. So jump on tribalking and get tickets
- 18:44Speaker 2: to that because we've got so we've already said that
- 18:47Speaker 2: God is going to be there. That's sensational. I have
- 18:49Speaker 2: a range of special guests that you two don't even
- 18:51Speaker 2: know who are coming, and we know them. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 2: we all know that. Well why would they not be
- 19:01Speaker 2: Well because.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Patrick Brammel has been on Liza's radar for a long
- 19:04Speaker 4: time and I think she'd be excited if you invited.
- 19:08Speaker 2: I'm sad to say I won't be inviting Patrick. It
- 19:12Speaker 2: won't be Patrick brammele. But and you've also got some
- 19:17Speaker 2: awesome netty friends who were just going to come along
- 19:20Speaker 2: and hang out with us. Yeah. So that's great. It
- 19:22Speaker 2: is looking like a lot of fun, so don't miss out,
- 19:24Speaker 2: Graby tickets on that. All right, we're going to take
- 19:27Speaker 2: a short break and then come back. Okay, well, welcome
- 19:42Speaker 2: back now. Catherine, You've proposed some questions to us that
- 19:48Speaker 2: I have not done my homework on, but will will
- 19:51Speaker 2: hoof it.
- 19:51Speaker 4: So what I saw this little tidbit on socials and
- 19:55Speaker 4: I thought, hmm, I'm going to ask you to Actually,
- 19:58Speaker 4: I'm going to think of things for you. Two guys
- 20:01Speaker 4: can do the same for me. What's the one thing?
- 20:03Speaker 4: You'd never let me be in charge of a library.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Because I'm not touching perfect order under the dewy decimal system.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Wouldn't a book club?
- 20:20Speaker 4: Then? Maybe that's great cool. I wouldn't let Carolyn be
- 20:25Speaker 4: in charge of the light bulbs, and I wouldn't let
- 20:34Speaker 4: Lise Ellis be in charge of the Champagne.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Because no one else wouldet me.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Correct, Yes, it would go missing, Yes, would have missing.
- 20:45Speaker 4: You know, well that's true.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Yes, I was about to say I wouldn't. I wouldn't
- 20:51Speaker 3: let Catherine be in charge of the cheesecut because in
- 20:55Speaker 3: Paris and it didn't end well. And maybe I wouldn't
- 20:59Speaker 3: let Catherine in charge of a group of twenty year
- 21:03Speaker 3: old nice young men.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Twenty. Oh it's a bit scarier now that I'm fifty.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Oh, that's true.
- 21:09Speaker 4: What's that rule to be palatable? It's not anymore.
- 21:12Speaker 3: I no, no, what's the rule? Half your age plus seven?
- 21:14Speaker 3: Is that correct?
- 21:15Speaker 4: Half your age plus what rule is this?
- 21:17Speaker 3: Where have you?
- 21:18Speaker 1: We're about like the Reniquette book?
- 21:20Speaker 2: Are you?
- 21:21Speaker 4: So? What am I looking at? Thirty two?
- 21:23Speaker 3: Thirty two is about the youngest you could go? Oh yeah,
- 21:27Speaker 3: and I'm.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Still allowed to go in Lisa's rule book.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Yep, fair enough. But I want to know where she
- 21:31Speaker 2: gets this rule from, this rule of time. She just
- 21:34Speaker 2: makes stuff up.
- 21:35Speaker 3: I make so much stuff up, drag stuff up. Actually,
- 21:39Speaker 3: my drag stuff I've had of nowhere AnyWho that that
- 21:42Speaker 3: was a bit below the belt. But I would not
- 21:47Speaker 3: let Carolyn be in charge of So you're the sort
- 21:54Speaker 3: of person i'd let in charge of most things, right,
- 21:57Speaker 3: isn't it? I know it's really hard thinking, maybe.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Turning the goalposts around from Netta to normal hot.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Maybe I would have put her in charge of packing
- 22:11Speaker 3: the high shelves in the supermarket.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, thank you. I'm trying to think. What I
- 22:16Speaker 2: wouldn't put you in charge of?
- 22:18Speaker 3: Liz and got so much?
- 22:20Speaker 2: Not much?
- 22:20Speaker 3: Really?
- 22:22Speaker 2: Maybe I wouldn't let Liz Ellis be in charge of
- 22:25Speaker 2: setting a time for us all to get together socially,
- 22:28Speaker 2: because that's bloody impossible.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Here's something I would have made myself in charge of,
- 22:34Speaker 3: or maybe I would. I ran into at state championships.
- 22:39Speaker 3: I run into for those who remember her more in Boyle,
- 22:41Speaker 3: who was an international umpire, and she asked me if
- 22:46Speaker 3: I had any interested umpiring, and I laughed. I said no,
- 22:48Speaker 3: but my daughter doesn't. She goes, well, you should pick
- 22:50Speaker 3: up the whistle. I said, can you imagine if I
- 22:52Speaker 3: if I umpired play on?
- 22:57Speaker 4: Being serious?
- 22:58Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 23:00Speaker 4: Was she?
- 23:01Speaker 3: Well, she's I mean, god love I she thinks that
- 23:04Speaker 3: it's the next like you know, you can do. I
- 23:07Speaker 3: took great confidence from the fact that she thought that
- 23:09Speaker 3: I might be able to umpire. I mean I don't
- 23:12Speaker 3: know all the rules. I don't know all the rules,
- 23:14Speaker 3: and also I don't like to apply the rules, so
- 23:16Speaker 3: I would just put my whistle in my pocket and
- 23:18Speaker 3: say play on.
- 23:19Speaker 4: That was like the netball retirement plan. So I feel like,
- 23:22Speaker 4: if you're an athlete, you can still be involved. Let
- 23:25Speaker 4: you go to the Commas games for lawn balls, for instance.
- 23:28Speaker 4: She's thinking about Liza's post netball, you know, moving into
- 23:31Speaker 4: the retirement space of umpiring.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Yeah, well, no, you're going to be fast and fit
- 23:36Speaker 3: to be an umpire, and at the elite level. I
- 23:38Speaker 3: think she was more thinking that I could contribute elsewhere,
- 23:40Speaker 3: and I was like, nah.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I would be hopeless at umpiring because all you need
- 23:44Speaker 2: to do if I decide something or say something, all
- 23:47Speaker 2: you need to do is say to me, are you sure?
- 23:49Speaker 2: And then I'm immediately not sure. So I just I
- 23:52Speaker 2: think about the decisions that umpires have to make, how
- 23:55Speaker 2: many decisions that they have to make, and it's like,
- 23:58Speaker 2: oh my god, that's just exhausting. I don't know, well
- 24:01Speaker 2: I think this, but let's let's ask everyone else what
- 24:04Speaker 2: they think happened.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Thousand people in the States.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Harper said to me the other day watching a game,
- 24:10Speaker 4: what happens if both people catch the ball at the
- 24:13Speaker 4: same time? And I was like, well, back in the day,
- 24:16Speaker 4: we used to do a toss up? What's that? And
- 24:18Speaker 4: so I had to explain it to us, said we'll
- 24:20Speaker 4: do something at training this afternoon. So we're doing toss
- 24:22Speaker 4: ups at training today, just as a little nostalgia.
- 24:25Speaker 2: You will be surprised to hear that in my day,
- 24:27Speaker 2: the toss up was one of the things I was
- 24:30Speaker 2: quite good at.
- 24:30Speaker 4: No, not surprised makes sense.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Well, they have to take the ball down to the
- 24:34Speaker 2: level of both players, don't they They can't. We'll start
- 24:37Speaker 2: with the toss up.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Here's a tall person and a short person.
- 24:40Speaker 3: It goes down to here we go. Here's the rule
- 24:43Speaker 3: that I remember. It goes down to the level of
- 24:45Speaker 3: the shortest. You can only throw it as high as
- 24:47Speaker 3: the shortest person's shoulder. Is that right? That's right, You've
- 24:50Speaker 3: got a massive event.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I was good at the toss up. Now they've taken
- 24:55Speaker 2: that away. What do we know about a short pass? Now?
- 24:58Speaker 2: Am I right that if something is called as a
- 25:02Speaker 2: short pass if it is not sufficient distance to be contestable.
- 25:06Speaker 4: So yes, because it used to be there had to
- 25:08Speaker 4: be a room for a body to pass through, and
- 25:11Speaker 4: now it is contestable, so it could be a hand now,
- 25:14Speaker 4: I think so.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I feel like that's one that there's there might be
- 25:18Speaker 2: a little bit. Throughout the course of this Supernepple season,
- 25:20Speaker 2: we've seen a couple of times where it's like, Okay,
- 25:23Speaker 2: I don't we're still getting used to that. The umpires
- 25:25Speaker 2: might still be getting used so or the players might
- 25:27Speaker 2: still be getting used to the umpires interpretation of that.
- 25:30Speaker 3: I don't understand that into I don't understand, but AnyWho, Catherine,
- 25:36Speaker 3: with your toss ups this afternoon, make sure that everyone's
- 25:39Speaker 3: got short nails, because I think you still have scars
- 25:41Speaker 3: from practicing pups.
- 25:45Speaker 4: From practice we used to do them. I've got them
- 25:48Speaker 4: all over me.
- 25:49Speaker 3: You know, some are toss ugs and someonere just playing
- 25:51Speaker 3: against each other at training. But I've got funny nails
- 25:53Speaker 3: that sort of grow out and they look like they're
- 25:56Speaker 3: short enough, but in fact they're still dangerous.
- 25:58Speaker 4: At the end of every Ausie Diamonds training session, that's
- 26:01Speaker 4: what we would end on. So the umpire would come
- 26:03Speaker 4: in and we'd all light up, but without doubt someone
- 26:07Speaker 4: would end up with scratches on their arms all the thing.
- 26:10Speaker 3: And you had to do it because I don't know,
- 26:12Speaker 3: if you want to cast your mind back to the
- 26:14Speaker 3: nineteen ninety nine World Cup. With about eleven seconds ago,
- 26:18Speaker 3: there was a toss up between me and Donald da Haagen.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Yes she's the umpire said that I broke on I
- 26:24Speaker 3: did not break AnyWho, and that's where that I think
- 26:27Speaker 3: she had to pass the ball out anyway, whatever, but
- 26:29Speaker 3: I could. I remember thinking, I can't believe this game
- 26:32Speaker 3: is going to be decided to by a toss up and.
- 26:35Speaker 4: Crazy.
- 26:36Speaker 2: So I'm those penalty shootouts in soccer, isn't It's like
- 26:40Speaker 2: it's a rugged way to decide. O.
- 26:42Speaker 4: God, I love them. How good is a penalty shooting?
- 26:46Speaker 2: I hate it? It makes me just feel sick for everyone,
- 26:48Speaker 2: for all of those young people involved in that, in
- 26:51Speaker 2: the stress. And it's like.
- 26:52Speaker 4: Watching the Tillies penalty shootout during the World clauss that
- 26:55Speaker 4: was the most exciting sport I think I've watched.
- 26:58Speaker 2: What I loved was hearing it around the neighborhood and
- 27:01Speaker 2: you know, you could tell some people were watching it
- 27:03Speaker 2: on freeedoware and some people were watching it on you know,
- 27:07Speaker 2: subscription or whatever. And one was a couple as was
- 27:09Speaker 2: a half second before the other one. So you could
- 27:12Speaker 2: hear the hear the shout go out there. I think
- 27:15Speaker 2: that's my advice for football. If you want me to
- 27:18Speaker 2: call it football, which I know you do, then the
- 27:21Speaker 2: soccer ruse Like I still call it soccer. I just
- 27:25Speaker 2: think they need to. I don't know the soccer the
- 27:27Speaker 2: football rouse roofs foot roos doesn't work out as well.
- 27:32Speaker 2: But Liz, did you have a no dribble recommends for it.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Oh, look, I did. Look, it's possibly not that exciting.
- 27:38Speaker 3: But I do like to occasionally go back to old recipes,
- 27:41Speaker 3: you know, like there's modern recipes the old recipes. Last
- 27:44Speaker 3: weekend I did a pot roast, fantastic cooker in the
- 27:49Speaker 3: slow cooker, big two kilogram slab of chuck roast that
- 27:54Speaker 3: that the med tray grew for me. And I use
- 27:57Speaker 3: the recipe Tin Eats recipe because that's just about the
- 28:00Speaker 3: only website and recie book I used these days. And
- 28:03Speaker 3: it well, I can't tell you how nice it was
- 28:05Speaker 3: to put it on in the morning and then go
- 28:07Speaker 3: out to soccer slash football and then go and coach
- 28:12Speaker 3: netball and play netball and get home at five o'clock
- 28:15Speaker 3: and all I had to do with some spuds and
- 28:17Speaker 3: it was so good.
- 28:19Speaker 4: That can you put that on something?
- 28:21Speaker 2: So where's the chuck? Where's chuck from? Like I don't know, Charles,
- 28:27Speaker 2: I know, but it's no, we don't know, all right.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Have google google it. There's like all google cauts and
- 28:36Speaker 3: if the meat tray was here, he could answer. But
- 28:38Speaker 3: I have no idea. But I do love a chuck
- 28:40Speaker 3: roast and always get them cut up into like things
- 28:42Speaker 3: for casseroles. But this time around, I was like, oh,
- 28:44Speaker 3: just leave a couple of big chuck roast for me
- 28:47Speaker 3: to do. And it was the pot roast. Oh my god,
- 28:50Speaker 3: it was so good to shear sauce in it. This
- 28:54Speaker 3: one did not, but I did it. I did it.
- 28:57Speaker 3: I did Also, what do you.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Say it's just woolster what happens? It's Worcester sauce. It
- 29:06Speaker 2: comes from Britain and that's how the how it's.
- 29:08Speaker 3: You don't say to share, but you do say worlstershare,
- 29:12Speaker 3: don't you.
- 29:13Speaker 2: I think it's just Worcester sauce.
- 29:15Speaker 3: It's like dribblers, let us know. Oh that's amazing. No,
- 29:20Speaker 3: but I made a Guinness stew recently with sauce of it.
- 29:24Speaker 3: It was great. Yeah, So get into your slow cookers team.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I prefer the pressure cooker.
- 29:30Speaker 2: I love it because it's like I can get home
- 29:33Speaker 2: and it's like within an hour, I've got a really
- 29:36Speaker 2: tender cast roll on the table.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Love the pressure in my tiny kitchen. For any other appliance.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Pressure cooker is my pressure cooker is my slow cooker.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Yes, mine does the same fancy. I will do a
- 29:48Speaker 2: quick no dribble recommends. Then because I cracked it on
- 29:51Speaker 2: the weekend because I had to. I was out Friday
- 29:53Speaker 2: night and Saturday night, I said, Friday night till midnight,
- 29:56Speaker 2: hosting at the Comedy Club in King's Cross, and then
- 29:58Speaker 2: Saturday afternoon, I was like, I just want to stay home.
- 30:01Speaker 2: I don't want to go out. And so we had
- 30:03Speaker 2: sort of half an hour and pizza. I'll make you
- 30:05Speaker 2: a drink, and we sat down and we started watching
- 30:06Speaker 2: Stanley Tucci's Italy Food in Italy thing. I love Stanley Tucci.
- 30:12Speaker 2: First place they went was Naples, which kind of made
- 30:14Speaker 2: me sadder because we were in Naples last year and
- 30:16Speaker 2: I loved it so much. And then I'm like, why
- 30:18Speaker 2: am I here going out? It's Carldon's Saturday night. I'm
- 30:20Speaker 2: in Sydney, min Anyway, had a great gig, but Naples
- 30:24Speaker 2: is the home of pizza. So we said, let's make
- 30:27Speaker 2: pizzas proper pizzas tomorrow and make the dough. Left it
- 30:32Speaker 2: too late, slept in. But then someone gave us the
- 30:35Speaker 2: advice you got to Aldi. You can get the pizza
- 30:38Speaker 2: balls there in the fridge section, individually wrapped, so we
- 30:43Speaker 2: got these things sensational.
- 30:45Speaker 4: Well, just roll it out and then bobs your own.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so you have to let it sit for an hour,
- 30:50Speaker 2: cover it in oil, and let it sit for an hour.
- 30:53Speaker 2: And I think probably longer would have benefited. But then
- 30:55Speaker 2: we went straight into the oven. We don't have a
- 30:57Speaker 2: special pizza oven or anything, but it was just it
- 30:59Speaker 2: was great. It was really and we've got good mozzarella
- 31:02Speaker 2: and good hugo and yeah, it was fantastic. That's my
- 31:07Speaker 2: notable recommend.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Can I give you one more no driable recommends?
- 31:12Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 31:12Speaker 3: Where one hour on fire Back? Can you please just
- 31:15Speaker 3: pop over to wherever you get your podcasts and just
- 31:18Speaker 3: have a listen to Full Plate please. Of course my
- 31:21Speaker 3: other little podcast that I've got going on. I know
- 31:23Speaker 3: that it's like I'm not really cheating on YouTube, but
- 31:26Speaker 3: I am seeing some other people. And a couple of
- 31:29Speaker 3: weeks ago I saw Lizzie who who's a mate of yours, Carolyn,
- 31:31Speaker 3: and she was very funny and very interesting about her
- 31:35Speaker 3: sort of relationship with food and the messiness of her life.
- 31:39Speaker 3: And then this week, the episode that's just dropped is
- 31:41Speaker 3: Terrea Pitt, who is amazing and just so good to
- 31:45Speaker 3: listen to about you know, how we tend to beat
- 31:48Speaker 3: ourselves up when we feel a bit under the pump.
- 31:50Speaker 3: So she was fantastic, So please go and have a
- 31:53Speaker 3: listen to full Plate Full Plate.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Yeah absolutely, Oh that was a perfect nigriable recommend because
- 31:58Speaker 2: this is like the third week in a that we've
- 32:00Speaker 2: got off air and gone, oh my god, we didn't
- 32:01Speaker 2: mention your podcast again, so thank you, well done. Yeah,
- 32:05Speaker 2: don't forget to get your tickets to our pre Grand
- 32:07Speaker 2: Final event. It is coming together sensationally. I hope that
- 32:11Speaker 2: it's today Monday. Who knows whether when we hit this
- 32:13Speaker 2: on Friday whether they'll still be tickets left. But yeah,
- 32:16Speaker 2: get around it. It's going to be super fun and
- 32:19Speaker 2: have a great weekend. Suck up, enjoy every moment of netball.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Even if your team's not in, you've still got the
- 32:25Speaker 2: best league in the world entertaining you with netball that
- 32:29Speaker 2: I think is going to be an extraordinary standard this weekend.
- 32:31Speaker 2: So I am excited.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Me too, Me three yay go netball.
- 32:37Speaker 4: Netball's the winner.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Netball's the winner. Thanks for joining us. I'm Carolyn Swindell,
- 32:41Speaker 2: I'm Catcox, I'm lose Ellis.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Bye bye bye,
