- 0:00Speaker 1: That was the easy part. The hard part was removing
- 0:03Speaker 1: my own face. Luckily, as Krusty's sidekick, I'd been hit
- 0:07Speaker 1: with so many pies that my face had lost all sensations. Also,
- 0:12Speaker 1: I thought four Finger.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Discounted, Welcome to four Finger Discound, where this week we're
- 0:39Speaker 2: going to be doing another Sicho Bob episode is what
- 0:42Speaker 2: I consider one of the better Sajo Bob episodes.
- 0:44Speaker 1: In a very long time. It's the Bob next Door.
- 0:45Speaker 2: I don know, another Bob episode. I'm guy, Yes, did
- 0:49Speaker 2: you like this one? I liked it for a Saro
- 0:51Speaker 2: Bob when I didn't mind it.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I thought it was fun, you know Bob episode, little
- 0:55Speaker 1: extra body horror and that never goes astray. I was
- 0:57Speaker 1: wondering we ever had a Bobb episode without Bart? Have
- 1:01Speaker 1: we either had like a Bob origin episode or they
- 1:03Speaker 1: just sort of folded origin stuff into previous episodes. I
- 1:06Speaker 1: would like a Bob episode that was just about Bob.
- 1:09Speaker 2: And what would the story be? Though, Well, do we
- 1:12Speaker 2: need an origin story?
- 1:13Speaker 1: Not an origin story? So, but it'll just be an
- 1:16Speaker 1: interesting swerve, I think, because every time you see Bob,
- 1:19Speaker 1: it's almost like it's time for me to kill Bart.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It's time for me to hatch another ludicrous, insane plot
- 1:24Speaker 1: to kill this small boy nemesis of mine.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I think a lot of people forget why he's trying
- 1:30Speaker 2: to kill Bart or I've forgotten.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Tell me why.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Well, it's because this was it was never a murderer, right,
- 1:36Speaker 2: It wasn't like he's just some criminal who just wants
- 1:38Speaker 2: to murder people. Bart ruined, he foiled his plan to
- 1:41Speaker 2: frame Krusty, and Crusty gets busted. From the first season,
- 1:45Speaker 2: it's where Bob frames Krusty for robbing the Quickie Mart.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Crusty goes to prison, and Bart realizes that it was
- 1:50Speaker 2: actually Sicho Bob because Sicho Bob gets his own show
- 1:52Speaker 2: because it choices and very Kelsey Grammer esque, and I
- 1:57Speaker 2: would watch and he realizes it's where he's got big feet,
- 2:01Speaker 2: and it's like, I've got big shoes to fill.
- 2:03Speaker 1: That's right, I remember the big feet was.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah, the big shoes to fill is like the dawning
- 2:07Speaker 2: moment there. And that's because so now he's trying to
- 2:09Speaker 2: get Bart for ruining his life by sending him to prison.
- 2:12Speaker 2: But that's the reason he was sent to prison. Well,
- 2:13Speaker 2: Bob's the reason he went to prison. Correct Bob is
- 2:16Speaker 2: barn Is the one who caught him.
- 2:17Speaker 1: He's easy.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Kids would have gotten away with it. It wasn't for that
- 2:19Speaker 2: measly kid.
- 2:20Speaker 1: This is reminiscent of the Denzel Washington John Lithgow movie Ricochet,
- 2:24Speaker 1: that we talked about occasionally. Yeah. Yeah, just like John
- 2:28Speaker 1: litheo gets fixated on Denzel for ruining his life. Just
- 2:32Speaker 1: so you ruined your own life. You just got caught.
- 2:35Speaker 1: He caught you. That's correct. But well, I'm trying to
- 2:37Speaker 1: put myself in the mindset of Yeah, there's actually.
- 2:41Speaker 2: A lot of that sort of vibe to the side
- 2:43Speaker 2: of Bob character, isn't it. I wonder if I wonder
- 2:45Speaker 2: if someone watched Rikoshet and then wrote that episode when
- 2:47Speaker 2: Richet I at ninety ninety one. I believe yeah, big
- 2:50Speaker 2: Shoester feel that would have been before that though.
- 2:51Speaker 1: So probably Yeah, so Ricochet probably ripped. Soon watch Cross
- 2:54Speaker 1: it gets busted. But enough about Ricaget, which I could
- 2:59Speaker 1: talk all day. We're here to talk about the Bob
- 3:01Speaker 1: next Door.
- 3:02Speaker 2: You liked it, Yeah, I've compared to recent sort of
- 3:05Speaker 2: sychhobob episodes, I thought this one felt more like he
- 3:07Speaker 2: was a actual maniac. I feel like in recent years
- 3:10Speaker 2: he's been very tame and more, I know, just playing
- 3:15Speaker 2: up the plus grammar esque. We know, flamboyant he as
- 3:18Speaker 2: opposed to as being a guy who was to kill somebody.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I did like that Kelsey underplayed this affair bit. Yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 1: I mean, I think there is a tendency. I think
- 3:26Speaker 1: you're very correct in that regard. Then when it's time
- 3:29Speaker 1: to get Kelsey on the line and say hey, you
- 3:32Speaker 1: want to come back, here's a wheelbear full of money,
- 3:35Speaker 1: he'll come back and he'll do Kelsey grammar. That sounded
- 3:39Speaker 1: like no, that was no, that was more. Such a
- 3:41Speaker 1: fine it you can't say at once. Share it to
- 3:50Speaker 1: my online buddy, the Governor, who anytime he makes a
- 3:54Speaker 1: typo in a tweet will then put up an image
- 3:59Speaker 1: of Krusty in the according with.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Do you know the thing is he doesn't actually say
- 4:04Speaker 2: side shomel twice. Do you know why he says it
- 4:05Speaker 2: the second time? He says slide show mal Oh okay,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I always thought it was side shame side's I think, well,
- 4:14Speaker 2: obviously the subtitles when I watched it said slide show meal,
- 4:17Speaker 2: and I was like, yeah, ah.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Was he correcting himself?
- 4:20Speaker 2: Because I always thought it was giving you two versions
- 4:22Speaker 2: of the side show mel and he's a professional. But
- 4:24Speaker 2: it's like, no, he's just slides him outside show mal
- 4:27Speaker 2: as supposed to.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Slide sham shout out to a pal Ed cavally as well,
- 4:30Speaker 1: who's always about learning from a professional. Yeah, so, but
- 4:33Speaker 1: you tend to get Kelsey being Kelsey, and with this
- 4:36Speaker 1: he was sort of a you know, dialing it back
- 4:39Speaker 1: a bit, which I think we I think we really appreciate.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Well, you know why because for the majority of the episode,
- 4:44Speaker 2: he's not playing side showbod Oh, he's playing Walt Warren
- 4:48Speaker 2: Walt Warre.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I was about to say will walk I got the
- 4:51Speaker 1: alliteration correct, but the name's all wrong.
- 4:53Speaker 2: So I just type slideshow into Frankiak and it's not there.
- 4:56Speaker 2: So maybe it is side show side show mew. It
- 4:58Speaker 2: works both ways.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I think it does, which is funny. Though.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Do you think do you think it's the him correcting
- 5:02Speaker 2: himself because he's made a mistake, or do you think
- 5:04Speaker 2: it's because he's given you too variations?
- 5:05Speaker 1: I think I think variation because he says at the end,
- 5:08Speaker 1: learn from a professional. Yeah, He's like, I don't want
- 5:10Speaker 1: to be here all that long. I'm just going to
- 5:12Speaker 1: rattle it off. But it's like you can cut and
- 5:14Speaker 1: paste this. You're an editor into anything you like. You know,
- 5:19Speaker 1: I'm giving you the variation, but I'm out. Yeah, I
- 5:22Speaker 1: think I think it was, But that's a previous that's
- 5:28Speaker 1: another episode entirely. Yeah, the Bob next Door.
- 5:30Speaker 2: But again though, so Kelsey wasn't really playing Sicho Bob
- 5:32Speaker 2: No no for the more than two thirds of this episode.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I think great, No, and he's still is Kelsey Grammary.
- 5:39Speaker 1: He's got that. He's got one of the most distinctive
- 5:40Speaker 1: voices of the last thirty years or so.
- 5:43Speaker 2: It sounds just like that guy from Cheers and the
- 5:46Speaker 2: Fraser from Frasier and Tom whatever.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Tom saw it at the cinema. I was a big
- 5:52Speaker 1: fan of that. Shout outcause I love Dan Periscope. Wise man,
- 5:58Speaker 1: because I don't I don't know Kelsey got that many
- 6:01Speaker 1: sort of bites at the cherry when it came to
- 6:03Speaker 1: a big screen stardom. He's been in his share of movies,
- 6:06Speaker 1: but generally he's more so. It was the star of
- 6:08Speaker 1: that one, but he was the start. He was name
- 6:10Speaker 1: above the title in Dann Periscope, which I don't think
- 6:12Speaker 1: that many people saw.
- 6:13Speaker 2: And I don't think I people talk about it anymore,
- 6:14Speaker 2: and I'm like, talk about this vie. It's very funny.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Is it on Disney plants? Imagine it would be? Is that?
- 6:20Speaker 1: I hope? So it's not on physical meter. I know that.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Let's have a quick peek because stream I will occasionally
- 6:25Speaker 1: type a title into Disney plass. It's on Disney Plus. Yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 1: watch it.
- 6:29Speaker 2: If you have got Disney Plus, make sure you watch
- 6:31Speaker 2: down periscope. Good movie seven. Look, you brought it up there,
- 6:36Speaker 2: So go to the cast because it's got like a
- 6:37Speaker 2: really good supporting cast.
- 6:38Speaker 1: It really does.
- 6:39Speaker 2: It's got dumb dumb dumba. Yeah, yeah, well to use.
- 6:43Speaker 1: She's from Dumb and dumba. To me, she's from the
- 6:45Speaker 1: Adventures of Ford fair Lay, which brings up something else.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I'm not going to step up my favorite moments.
- 6:50Speaker 2: But I'll get to it when I get to it, Okay,
- 6:51Speaker 2: Calsiy Grammer, Rob Schneider, Lauren Holly, Bruce Dern Yeah, Ken
- 6:57Speaker 2: cardson playing the chef, isn't he indeed?
- 6:59Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 7:00Speaker 2: Toby has Toby tobyhus from King of the Hill. We
- 7:04Speaker 2: am Macy and clearly what in an early role Jonathan Penner,
- 7:07Speaker 2: ripped ripped horns in there. Wow, Dwayne Martin, Arlan Williams. Yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 2: it's pat and yeah, a lot of like you said,
- 7:16Speaker 2: just those guys, those guys.
- 7:17Speaker 1: And a lot of familiar faces.
- 7:19Speaker 2: You grew up in the nineties, you justill you saw
- 7:21Speaker 2: them and everything. You never knew their names as a kid.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Ken Hudson KM was one of the voices in Herman's Head, right,
- 7:27Speaker 1: he was one of the characters in Herman's Head.
- 7:29Speaker 2: What the hell's Herman's Head? Are you not aware of
- 7:31Speaker 2: Herman's Head? Herman's Head? No, this is a this is
- 7:34Speaker 2: a sitcom.
- 7:34Speaker 1: From the from the nineties, I believe, No, never heard
- 7:37Speaker 1: of it in my life. This guy named Herman and
- 7:39Speaker 1: he's it's almost like inside out. He's got like these
- 7:42Speaker 1: four people in his head that represent various emotions.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Hardley Smith was a character in that, I guess. So, yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 2: there's the tie in.
- 7:52Speaker 1: It's it's almost like I meant to tell you about this,
- 7:55Speaker 1: but yeah, Herman's a regular guy and like the intro,
- 7:59Speaker 1: we should clear up the introgers. Actually, it's one of
- 8:02Speaker 1: those great nineties and says this is the premise about show. Yes,
- 8:05Speaker 1: you know It's like, Hi, I'm Herman's rationality. I keep
- 8:09Speaker 1: him from making bad choices. I'm Herman's emotions, I you know,
- 8:13Speaker 1: make him feel things, etcetera. I'm Herman's anxiety. Basically ripped
- 8:19Speaker 1: it off. It actually is just inside out.
- 8:21Speaker 2: It just says here in the description the four aspects
- 8:23Speaker 2: of fact Checker's personality argue over his decisions pretty much.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I don't how many episodes they made of this, but
- 8:28Speaker 1: it was a few.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Herman's Head, that's a look. They made three seasons, seventy
- 8:34Speaker 2: two episodes. Yeah, was in there as well.
- 8:40Speaker 1: A Better Time to Be Alive, starring William Ragsdale, the
- 8:42Speaker 1: star of Frot.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Night, So angel Is, Molly Hagen, Animal, Ken Hudson, Campbell, Wimp,
- 8:47Speaker 2: was Rick Lawless, Genius, Peter Mackenzie, Jealousy, Bob Kat Leslie Nielsen,
- 8:52Speaker 2: Leslie Nielsen. Wow, we played God. So he Gazari was
- 8:58Speaker 2: his coworker. That's right, Yeah, Jane Sibbet is it Sabbett Sibbet?
- 9:03Speaker 2: But yeah, so, Yardley Smith and Hegazari starred voices as
- 9:07Speaker 2: themselves on the show.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Mo I'm glad I introduced it, man.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I'm not sure where you'll find it these days. Look
- 9:15Speaker 2: probably on YouTube's look yeah, Herman's Head. But I highly
- 9:19Speaker 2: recommend this to those who are listening and or watching
- 9:22Speaker 2: this episode of fourthing a.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Discount Herman's Head. It's a really good.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Ninety sitcom, Hermon's Head. Full episodes here. What I do
- 9:28Speaker 2: is I just download like player lists of full episodes
- 9:30Speaker 2: and the full episode seasons one through seasons one through nine,
- 9:34Speaker 2: there's only four.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Get the feeling that's not quite right. You're going to
- 9:38Speaker 1: click on that, get malware.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I'm going to click on it. And he's the intro's
- 9:43Speaker 2: trouble everywhere and he's lost, let me miss it. On the.
- 9:51Speaker 1: He've got his baseball gap on backwards. It looks like
- 9:53Speaker 1: Joe Rogan high stage jumper on yeah. And that's Ken
- 9:57Speaker 1: Hudson Campbell and he plays the chef. Was down Periscope,
- 10:01Speaker 1: which starred Kelsey.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Grammar, who is the which is mentioned in this episode,
- 10:06Speaker 2: who is the guest.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Of the Bob next Door, which is what we're talking
- 10:09Speaker 1: about in this episode. For being a disc out, we
- 10:12Speaker 1: brought it back, folks, We landed the plane.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Still one more damn periscope thing. As a kid, my
- 10:17Speaker 2: favorite moment was always when he farted. We're not trying
- 10:20Speaker 2: to be really quiet, and then he farts, and then
- 10:23Speaker 2: the other ship's like, what was that? Was it a whale?
- 10:26Speaker 2: Like pick comedy and ever on the I think everyonet
- 10:30Speaker 2: their noses like, yeah, I'll just kid absolute cinema.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It's a great, a great. I don't think you call
- 10:43Speaker 1: it a meme, just a screen cap of I think
- 10:45Speaker 1: it's a No. I think it's the Korean director. It's
- 10:48Speaker 1: Bong dren Ho saying to me that cinema.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I think one he's doing this one says absolutely one's
- 10:55Speaker 2: absolute ship.
- 10:58Speaker 1: But there's so many of those are like veryous and
- 11:00Speaker 1: pure cinema, and yeah, damn Periscope is pure cinema. Kelsey Grammar, Yeah,
- 11:05Speaker 1: look I did a good job in.
- 11:06Speaker 2: This episode, he did. Oh yeah, I really really liked it.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I like the fact that it was also a face
- 11:11Speaker 2: off parody. Face Off one of my favorite movies of
- 11:12Speaker 2: all indeed. Yeah, but it wasn't sort of like an
- 11:15Speaker 2: obvious parody. It wasn't just no, it wasn't it wasn't
- 11:18Speaker 2: be for beat at all. No, there was references to
- 11:20Speaker 2: face Off. I think it maybe.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Just because there's faces that are off. Oh, stealing the identity. Yeah,
- 11:25Speaker 1: there is that as well.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Absolutely. Having said that, look, we've talked about things that
- 11:28Speaker 1: we liked in this episode. There were certain things that
- 11:29Speaker 1: I disliked about this episode, and these are things that
- 11:34Speaker 1: have come up a lot in season twenty one episodes.
- 11:37Speaker 1: There's just a lot of lazy joke telling in this.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Or in the next one. To judge me tender, that's true.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yeah, but not even not even lazy joke challeing, just
- 11:47Speaker 1: non existent joke tell.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Just stuff happening, and you go, what was the I
- 11:51Speaker 2: think it might be this one on the next one
- 11:52Speaker 2: I had in my notes. So you wrote this, you
- 11:55Speaker 2: put it in the scripts, and then did anyone actually
- 11:57Speaker 2: think to ask, where's the joke?
- 11:59Speaker 1: Correct? What was the point of this? Well, here's one.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I mean there's a scene in this a very brief cutaway.
- 12:05Speaker 1: It was like, why is Clancy asleep at the wheel? Yeah?
- 12:08Speaker 2: I mean it meant to be a jokers He's always
- 12:10Speaker 2: asleep at the wheel, and now he's literally asleep at
- 12:12Speaker 2: the wheel.
- 12:13Speaker 1: But you haven't really sort of you haven't done the
- 12:15Speaker 1: setup for the payoff.
- 12:17Speaker 2: No, so it just it wouldn't it be funny if
- 12:19Speaker 2: he was Asleep at the Wheel. He actually has a
- 12:22Speaker 2: line in this and I shared this on our page
- 12:23Speaker 2: last night. Screen captain. He says something about which is
- 12:27Speaker 2: of east Wick, but he puts it's a spin on
- 12:30Speaker 2: that name, and he says, I don't want to send
- 12:32Speaker 2: to myself. That's how creativity dies. And I'm like, rich
- 12:35Speaker 2: coming from the show that censored the Michael Jackson episode
- 12:38Speaker 2: and also removed a poof from a show because one
- 12:40Speaker 2: guy complained in a documentary.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Correct. Good point, Good points on your part, So well done.
- 12:45Speaker 1: But also I think there was another bit where you've
- 12:48Speaker 1: got Millhouse and Bart in the treehouse and they're trying
- 12:51Speaker 1: to draw a side show Bob out of the keep
- 12:55Speaker 1: to say.
- 12:56Speaker 2: We'll walk or it's Wald Warren World Warren, Yeah, singing
- 12:58Speaker 2: the song from kate Field.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Draw the archo bob at him by doing a Gilbert
- 13:02Speaker 1: and Sullivan, and then that leads in a little bit
- 13:04Speaker 1: of thing about oh yeahs on the radio station was
- 13:10Speaker 1: eighty nine point four. The spur Millhouse goes on a
- 13:13Speaker 1: a bit about that they've got this and they've got this.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Then it just closed that with butts shut up. Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 1: Like hello, Joe Blue Flavor, where are you look. I'm sorry,
- 13:26Speaker 1: that's just me.
- 13:27Speaker 2: But it's like, if the end is just him going
- 13:30Speaker 2: shut up, what was the point?
- 13:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Yeah, guys, you're in the Simpsons writer. I
- 13:39Speaker 1: hate to be the persiond that says do better, but better.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I saw some horrifying news on Twitter today yesterday, actually
- 13:46Speaker 2: Al Jean men Aljean in front of the pod. He
- 13:49Speaker 2: revealed that their moving offices. I did see this the
- 13:52Speaker 2: first time in like thirty five years, and I said,
- 13:54Speaker 2: this is incredibly sad because all the history that's been
- 13:57Speaker 2: created within those walls will now only exist the minds
- 14:00Speaker 2: of those who worked in there.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Correct. Yeah, it's terrible. Why are they moving? You've said
- 14:05Speaker 1: this when we've had interviews with Simpsons personnel, and I
- 14:09Speaker 1: agree with that wholeheartedly. There should be a Simpsons museum,
- 14:12Speaker 1: of course there should be. Yeah, it'll be fantastic.
- 14:15Speaker 2: And I think I may have little fire into some
- 14:18Speaker 2: asses this week because I said, when I shared our
- 14:22Speaker 2: clip from Josh Weinstein talking about how he's got that
- 14:24Speaker 2: Hank Scorpio video somewhere in his garage, by the way
- 14:27Speaker 2: he starts his response to that is the most Simpsons
- 14:29Speaker 2: writer thing ever. Is like it's I think it's someone
- 14:31Speaker 2: in my garage. My garage is forll of spiders.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and when you clipped it and yeah, when we
- 14:39Speaker 1: short formed it, Yeah, I think we were very I
- 14:42Speaker 1: think we responded to brogly and we said we will
- 14:44Speaker 1: overcome our fear of spiders and come dig through your
- 14:47Speaker 1: garrets to find it. We need to find it exactly right. Yeah,
- 14:49Speaker 1: So no, good on you for lighting a fight. Good
- 14:51Speaker 1: good on Josh for retweeting and giving a bit of
- 14:54Speaker 1: a signal boost.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:56Speaker 2: But the thing is a lot of Simpsons creators and
- 14:58Speaker 2: writers now now sharing photos on Twitter last week that
- 15:03Speaker 2: have obviously sitting on for decades, and all of a
- 15:05Speaker 2: sudden there's like Josh John Schwartzwater put out like twenty
- 15:08Speaker 2: photos behind the scenes the other and I was like, no,
- 15:10Speaker 2: we're not, Yeah, we're not saying that Dano was completely
- 15:13Speaker 2: responsible for completely not.
- 15:16Speaker 1: But somewhat. Look, there were a few gags like that
- 15:20Speaker 1: throughout this or sort of lame bits and pieces.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it happened in the next one, a bit of
- 15:25Speaker 2: a tease for the next season. Twenty one review the
- 15:27Speaker 2: finale of season twenty one, Judge Me Tender, a lot
- 15:29Speaker 2: of just listing things, and I was like, yes, these
- 15:32Speaker 2: names are funny, but it's gone on for like twenty
- 15:34Speaker 2: five seconds.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Now.
- 15:36Speaker 2: There's no jokes here. It's just a funny name, funny name,
- 15:39Speaker 2: a list of reality show.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Yeah, to the point where most.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Like that's a big list, isn't it. And then he
- 15:42Speaker 2: keeps going and I was like, it just felt like
- 15:44Speaker 2: filler even though it's not feiler because they're funny names.
- 15:47Speaker 2: It's like, you're not writing a scene here. No, you
- 15:50Speaker 2: just had a bunch of names. You couldn't figure out
- 15:51Speaker 2: a way to work them in there, so you're just
- 15:53Speaker 2: listing them, you know, which we'll talk about that and
- 15:55Speaker 2: Judge talk about that when.
- 15:56Speaker 1: We talk about that. But it did reek of ripping
- 15:59Speaker 1: in the writers. Yeah, but I'm not I'm not gonna
- 16:03Speaker 1: sort of There are more lamebits that I'll talk about
- 16:05Speaker 1: as we as we go through the episode.
- 16:07Speaker 2: But I did like the aspect of him taking Bart
- 16:10Speaker 2: to five Corners because it makes sense that Bart's been sorry,
- 16:14Speaker 2: Bob's been foiled so many times. He finally devised a
- 16:17Speaker 2: plan where he will he feels like he'll get away
- 16:19Speaker 2: with murder because.
- 16:20Speaker 1: You can't actually rest him.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Correct it feels like a Bob esque escapade.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it feels this is needlessly elaborate but also kind
- 16:28Speaker 1: of clever. Yeah, something we should point out, five corners
- 16:31Speaker 1: does not actually exist. There is, however, something called four corners.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Four corners, because it's been in The Simpsons a few times.
- 16:37Speaker 2: This this five corners, let's all hold hands and we're
- 16:40Speaker 2: in different year, parts of the country or whatever.
- 16:42Speaker 1: The four Corners as a.
- 16:43Speaker 2: As per Wikipedia, sing a lot of motown songs, right.
- 16:47Speaker 2: The four Corners absolutely also a great source of current
- 16:50Speaker 2: affairs if you're in Australia. Very local reference.
- 16:55Speaker 1: The four Corners is a region of the southwestern United States,
- 16:59Speaker 1: consistent of the southwest corner of Colorado, southeastern corner of Utah,
- 17:03Speaker 1: northeastern corner of Arizona, and northwestern corner of New Mexico.
- 17:08Speaker 2: So you so that would have been the four cops
- 17:09Speaker 2: that arrived at the end, and then you had Springfield
- 17:11Speaker 2: Police as the fifth.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Correct, Yes, except well they say which they say which
- 17:17Speaker 1: cops they.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Are, And I think it was more of the accents,
- 17:19Speaker 2: wasn't it.
- 17:20Speaker 1: As it was? Yeah, because I don't know if it's
- 17:23Speaker 1: one of your trivia questions or anything like that. But yeah,
- 17:25Speaker 1: one's Minnesota because they Minnesota. Yea, yeah, that was more
- 17:29Speaker 1: Canadian than But they also have New Jersey, which is
- 17:32Speaker 1: one of my favorite moments. Hey, my favorite Well, speaking
- 17:37Speaker 1: of favorite moments, favorite moments, I've a really really sort
- 17:40Speaker 1: of alluded to them. I love that there was a
- 17:42Speaker 1: down periscope shout out. Yeah. I'm wondering if that movie
- 17:44Speaker 1: was actually a hit. I'm sorry, do you still have
- 17:45Speaker 1: the pager? I can get it out.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 2: I don't imagine it would have been a hit, which
- 17:50Speaker 2: makes me it might have been like a middling hit though,
- 17:53Speaker 2: I mean, I can't imagine it. Thirty seven point five
- 17:56Speaker 2: sony Okay then.
- 17:58Speaker 1: But this was the era of DVD.
- 18:02Speaker 2: It's got eleven percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
- 18:04Speaker 1: What how How I get the feeling? Because Kelsey Grammar
- 18:09Speaker 1: is the star of Cheers and Fraser and very synonymous
- 18:11Speaker 1: with this sort of high browish comedy that's like, what
- 18:15Speaker 1: is Grammar doing it? There's low bros. Submarine comedy where
- 18:18Speaker 1: someone farts and it sets off the radar. I know,
- 18:21Speaker 1: it's a talk like this.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Man.
- 18:25Speaker 2: The Makers of Police is what Variety wrote, The Makers
- 18:27Speaker 2: of Police Academy and Major League team up to take
- 18:29Speaker 2: on the submarine corps, and the result is a testosterone
- 18:32Speaker 2: comedy that's crewed fun with a pinch of corn pone morality.
- 18:36Speaker 2: It's a good natured, innocuous frivolity that should raise a
- 18:39Speaker 2: few smiles. However, Stephen Holden of The New York Times
- 18:41Speaker 2: felt the tone of the acting, which is set by
- 18:43Speaker 2: mister Grammer's blandly laid back performance, is all wrong for
- 18:47Speaker 2: a genre that demands over the top hamming.
- 18:49Speaker 1: That's see, you never think of Kelsey as like, I'm
- 18:52Speaker 1: the knock about lovable captain of a submarine crew full
- 18:57Speaker 1: of dufases.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Isn't it like to joke that he's the opposite of them?
- 19:01Speaker 1: Get a joke? Well maybe yeah, He's like.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Come on, you bunch of moruns, let's get this place
- 19:06Speaker 2: into shape. And they're all buffoons and he's frasier.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Well yeah, but I don't know. Sometimes you go to
- 19:11Speaker 1: the movies expecting, you know, I don't want to have
- 19:14Speaker 1: to think too much, or I don't want to have
- 19:16Speaker 1: to sort of subvert my expectations. It really should be
- 19:19Speaker 1: I don't know who's the kind of guy who would
- 19:21Speaker 1: be that laid back sort of I can't think of it.
- 19:24Speaker 1: But Kelsey is the kind of guy who's like, you
- 19:25Speaker 1: better whip those guys into shape, or it's your career.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I see.
- 19:29Speaker 2: I have not watched Dan Periscope for probably twenty years,
- 19:32Speaker 2: so maybe my memories are very, very nostalgic because I
- 19:36Speaker 2: found hilarious when I was younger. I might watch it
- 19:39Speaker 2: now and go the movies like Dan Damn Periscape, right,
- 19:42Speaker 2: I've loved for so long. I have not seen them
- 19:44Speaker 2: for so long, and sometimes I think maybe I should
- 19:47Speaker 2: them for nickolcause Nicholas never seen Damn Paris Scape, And
- 19:49Speaker 2: I'm like, but what if I put it on it?
- 19:51Speaker 1: It's really bad.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Not only will I my memory of it be dwindled,
- 19:54Speaker 2: but you'll be You'll be judged for it.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Of course. It's yeah, one of the how many times
- 20:00Speaker 1: have I said the first kiss is important, the first
- 20:02Speaker 1: part is more important? But also the first time you
- 20:04Speaker 1: recommend it, like, honey, I really love this movie.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Do you now? Half an hour and you're like, this one?
- 20:11Speaker 2: How do you think this went? I based off your recommendations,
- 20:16Speaker 2: purchased go on Blu Ray, which I'd never seen.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Okay, I don't think I whole hardly recommend I said
- 20:21Speaker 1: it was pretty good.
- 20:21Speaker 2: You said pretty Yeah, basically said you said, you said
- 20:23Speaker 2: I would enjoy it. So I bought go on Blue
- 20:26Speaker 2: Ray from Jami Hif. I just came out on Blu
- 20:27Speaker 2: Ray again, so I bought it. Suggested to Nikola, said,
- 20:30Speaker 2: wish we should watch this. Apparently it's pretty good. We
- 20:32Speaker 2: watched it.
- 20:32Speaker 1: What do you reckon? Happened? Turned it off like twenty
- 20:35Speaker 1: minutes in. No, she really enjoyed it. Yeah, well, it
- 20:39Speaker 1: seemed like you were setting me up for like, huys, guys,
- 20:42Speaker 1: taste does not suck.
- 20:43Speaker 2: I was like, I've been I've read where it's basically
- 20:46Speaker 2: like the little brother of pulp fiction.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Oh very much. So yeah, yeah, yeah, it was a
- 20:49Speaker 1: whole yeah, slew of movies in the wake of pop fiction.
- 20:52Speaker 1: It's like, hey, walk on the Wildside and we're gonna
- 20:55Speaker 1: be cutting up the chronology and all that kind of stuff. Yeah. Plus,
- 20:58Speaker 1: you know, it's really good in it. Oh boy, Timothy Oliphant,
- 21:01Speaker 1: he's great, awesome, and he's really good. It's got sorry
- 21:05Speaker 1: to be.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Gross, but it's got young hot Katie Holmes, and so
- 21:10Speaker 2: there's a couple of scenes of strippers and it's just
- 21:11Speaker 2: like boobs everywhere, and I was like, no, wonder you
- 21:13Speaker 2: and guy I thought this is a good movie. I
- 21:15Speaker 2: was like, it doesn't say nudity on the cover at all.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I didn't even remember the strippers in it. What did
- 21:19Speaker 1: I just give a shout the dude admittedly also with
- 21:24Speaker 1: a shirt off. Yeah, middle also said Caddy homes in it. Wow.
- 21:27Speaker 1: But anyway, go good stuff. Yeah, I'm glad you liked it.
- 21:30Speaker 2: It's got an audio commentary.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Oh, I know it's from boy Doug liman Ig. Yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 1: maker of the born I Dident' dig, which was recently
- 21:37Speaker 1: covered on the movie molon Davis Ship. We're killing it
- 21:40Speaker 1: with the synergy. This is great. The favorite moments, Oh yeah,
- 21:45Speaker 1: more favorite. I wrote down, Hey, it's face off exclamation mark.
- 21:50Speaker 2: I will say I think I remember this episode cause
- 21:52Speaker 2: I definitely watched it for the first time because I
- 21:54Speaker 2: remember the face coming off. I remember when I first
- 21:56Speaker 2: saw that when I was younger and being absolutely just
- 21:58Speaker 2: like grossed out mortified it.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Was in this episode.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, because when the face comes off, that's
- 22:04Speaker 2: the kind of stuff they always say for treeouts of horror.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I think that might be the most grotesque thing we've
- 22:08Speaker 2: seen that's Cannon, Simpsons, that's not of horror.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I read a few reviews of this and comments about this,
- 22:14Speaker 1: saying should have been a Treehouse of Horror episode.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it was pretty I mean because that's the only
- 22:19Speaker 2: gory bit, but that's pretty intend gros.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean. What it reminded me of more than
- 22:24Speaker 1: face off, even though it's very literally a face off
- 22:27Speaker 1: reference is like the hell Raiser movies. You know, the
- 22:30Speaker 1: first hell Raisers pulled the skin. The dude's got no
- 22:33Speaker 1: skin and he has to keep killing people to sort
- 22:35Speaker 1: of harvest their skin and shit like that, Like, yeah,
- 22:38Speaker 1: this is more hell Raised than anything else. Or yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 1: as I mentioned earlier, a bit of body horror, like
- 22:43Speaker 1: you know, some David Cronenberg shit.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Because I'm like, my kids are watching Simpsons whatever now,
- 22:46Speaker 2: but I feel like I wouldn't watch this. I feel
- 22:48Speaker 2: like this would this would shock them a little bit.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:52Speaker 2: When they watched the Halloween ones, it's almost like they
- 22:54Speaker 2: switched their mindset. Yeah, and they know this is Halloween
- 22:57Speaker 2: one your prime yourself for Yeah, but this didn't feel
- 22:59Speaker 2: like like, oh, this guy's faces, what can we He's
- 23:02Speaker 2: cutting his own face off and stuff.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I went, yeah, pushing the bit.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Does this feel like a bit much pushing it a bit?
- 23:07Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 23:08Speaker 3: Uh.
- 23:08Speaker 1: And one other thing I liked in this episode was
- 23:11Speaker 1: at the very end, when you've got the five corners
- 23:13Speaker 1: and you've got the police from the from the five
- 23:15Speaker 1: various states. Just it's a bit obvious, I know, but
- 23:20Speaker 1: I like the New Jersey guys were just so blatantly
- 23:22Speaker 1: New Jersey. But the fact that they're on it, oh
- 23:25Speaker 1: like like my man dice Man reminded me of that
- 23:28Speaker 1: John de Volta a little bit. Oh yeah, let's go
- 23:30Speaker 1: get a funnel geek and please ski boar. But just
- 23:34Speaker 1: throwing in the oh at the end, Yeah, reminded me
- 23:39Speaker 1: of Andrew Dice Clay, star of the Adventures of Ford Fairlane,
- 23:43Speaker 1: which also co starred Lauren Holly, who was in Dan Periscope,
- 23:46Speaker 1: which Coast, which.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Which was referenced in this episode.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Yeah, the lead of the lead which was Kelsey Grammer,
- 23:51Speaker 1: who's the guest star in this episode.
- 23:53Speaker 2: About that, I love that, you just every time he's
- 23:55Speaker 2: a tangent. Now I'm explaining why somehow linked to this episode,
- 23:58Speaker 2: I'm bringing it back to bringing it to the beginning.
- 24:00Speaker 1: What do you like?
- 24:01Speaker 2: Well as most of mine. But I also liked when
- 24:03Speaker 2: March is like, he says, can I go to the
- 24:04Speaker 2: baseball games?
- 24:05Speaker 1: Have you cleaned your room?
- 24:06Speaker 4: No?
- 24:06Speaker 1: Good?
- 24:06Speaker 2: To give me something to do, you're out.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I did like that, actually, I mean it struck me
- 24:11Speaker 1: as like vintage March, because I feel bad that they've
- 24:17Speaker 1: sort of and we've talked about this many times, they
- 24:20Speaker 1: are not writing character based jokes anymore. They're writing jokes
- 24:23Speaker 1: and the signing them to characters. We've said this many, many,
- 24:25Speaker 1: many times. But that felt like a legitimate March. Yeah. Yeah,
- 24:30Speaker 1: So I really appreciate that, even though it's sad, but
- 24:36Speaker 1: it's true though.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I mean, we always go when we got home, kids,
- 24:39Speaker 2: we're going to clean up the house. Okay in the
- 24:41Speaker 2: first hour, you do't you're doing anything and clean up that.
- 24:42Speaker 2: You clean up your rooms, the playroom, I'll clean up
- 24:45Speaker 2: the land. Blah blah blah blah. We get home and
- 24:46Speaker 2: I see them sort of fanning Around'm like, get out
- 24:48Speaker 2: of the way, get the way, you guys, sit there,
- 24:51Speaker 2: let me do it. Will you doing it properly? Oh goodness?
- 24:54Speaker 2: Because they just sort of just go whosh under the
- 24:56Speaker 2: desk as opposed to putting things in piles, Holly's getting
- 25:00Speaker 2: the Holy spitger of Alia's.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Just like you want to clean. I'm cleaning. I'm doing
- 25:06Speaker 1: it my way. You see the floor, yes, but you're
- 25:09Speaker 1: not doing it. Maywey.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Next question you there eating the paste trivia time. My
- 25:14Speaker 2: first question for you is Walt's favorite radio station? Is
- 25:17Speaker 2: what you mentioned it earlier? It's eighty nine point four
- 25:19Speaker 2: the Spur, The Spur, Yes, who's in the afternoon on
- 25:22Speaker 2: that one.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I didn't write this, It was our deal, I mike yea,
- 25:24Speaker 1: which I thought was okay. How old is Chief Wigham? Oh?
- 25:30Speaker 2: When did they mention that.
- 25:31Speaker 1: He does that picture of Daddy's Bang Bang and like, wow,
- 25:35Speaker 1: that raff is the artist I drew Thish and it
- 25:38Speaker 1: bolds down and it says, see Wigham age something.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Oh really, I'm going to say, well, Home is meant
- 25:43Speaker 2: to be thirty nine per cannons, so I'm going to
- 25:44Speaker 2: say Wigham is thirty eight.
- 25:46Speaker 1: He is forty three years old.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Forty three okay, according to that picture. Anyway, I suppose
- 25:49Speaker 2: he was older than Homer. I think, yeah, you're right.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Maybe I can't remember. They change all the time. My
- 25:54Speaker 2: daxt question for you is what books does Bart find
- 25:56Speaker 2: in Walt's house. Oh, because there are a lot of magazines,
- 26:00Speaker 2: weren't Yeah, and then round Yeah, and was the was
- 26:04Speaker 2: the calendar like Cuddly Puppies, Cuddly Puppies, that's right. There
- 26:08Speaker 2: was also Calm, Comfortable. I forgot the others, not Mad Magazine,
- 26:13Speaker 2: not My Old Man, is Harmless World, and Nap Fancy.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Nap Fancy. Okay, I would read all of these. Great
- 26:21Speaker 1: book a.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Book that just says it's called calm, I'm going to
- 26:24Speaker 2: at least give it a crack.
- 26:25Speaker 1: There actually is a book called the Little Book of Calm. Okay.
- 26:27Speaker 1: It was probably full of little algorithms like don't forget
- 26:30Speaker 1: to breathe. Thanks for that, all right. My next question
- 26:33Speaker 1: to you is what does the Bart train name stand for?
- 26:39Speaker 1: Because you know, there's a scene where Bob slash Walt
- 26:42Speaker 1: is going but but but but and a train goes
- 26:45Speaker 1: past and it says bart. Bart is an acronym for something
- 26:49Speaker 1: that was a really long winter question.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah, the last word is going to be trained, right,
- 26:54Speaker 2: No railway, No, what is it?
- 26:58Speaker 1: It stands for Bay Area Rapid Transit. Okay, we go.
- 27:02Speaker 2: My final question for you is what is the name
- 27:04Speaker 2: of the we would say petrol station that they stop at,
- 27:07Speaker 2: oh Man, the last one before Park Corners.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Oh, it's a good name. It was to and I've
- 27:13Speaker 1: already forgotten it.
- 27:14Speaker 2: It's gas and grub gas And I like food being
- 27:16Speaker 2: referred to as grub. When you say grub food, you
- 27:19Speaker 2: know exactly, it's like roadhouse cafe, you know, it's this
- 27:22Speaker 2: sense of roller the grub.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I want some grub. Yes, indeed featuring our girl Joyce. Yeah,
- 27:29Speaker 1: fell over for Joyce, lonely lady. Yeah. I have one
- 27:32Speaker 1: more question here. I mentioned the Gilbert and Sullivan song earlier,
- 27:37Speaker 1: that Millhouse and Bart singing. That's from the Cape?
- 27:42Speaker 2: Yes back, which character is Millhouse playing? Yumo? Is it
- 27:48Speaker 2: yem yum yum yum? Okay, Yes, there's time for some
- 28:00Speaker 2: stone Cutter shoutoutuned with the incredible Katy G with her
- 28:03Speaker 2: one hundred dollars of Moore, absolute legend.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Such a bob would not want to kill Ketty G. No, No,
- 28:08Speaker 1: I mean fun fact. Katy G is also a cast
- 28:11Speaker 1: member of Dan Periscope, which stars Kelsey Grammer, who was
- 28:15Speaker 1: the guestar of this episode.
- 28:16Speaker 2: She voiced joy in Herman's World, and she was also
- 28:21Speaker 2: Katy G is there nothing she can't do?
- 28:23Speaker 1: I know?
- 28:24Speaker 2: Also David Stewart, Glen Gomez, Justin Parker, Zach Pruitt, Shaanny Macker, Elliot,
- 28:28Speaker 2: j O'Neil, Isabella Murphy, Reached Beasley, Stephen Roberts, Shawan, DV
- 28:31Speaker 2: Pete Anderson, Timothy Burst and Andrew Davis, Kevin Dentel, Planned Flood,
- 28:34Speaker 2: Bella winder Bank, Jack McFadden, Heath Appleby, Addict, McLeod, marchra
- 28:38Speaker 2: Levan Ginger and Pickle, Preston Murray to Lee, Enriquez, Declan Phoenix,
- 28:41Speaker 2: Brian McCoy, Logan, b James Sheppard, Joe Reading said, Dave
- 28:44Speaker 2: Pretzel's Mittnally Gaven named, Damie Miller, Charlie Joe, Abigail Beach,
- 28:47Speaker 2: up Cutter and Craig Alti Smash Gloucester. Thank you for
- 28:50Speaker 2: being Stonecutter supporters here at four finger discount.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Fun fact they are all cast members of Dan Paris.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I won't do it again.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Problem all right? So the original air date of this
- 29:03Speaker 2: episode was May sixteen, twenty ten. The top three films
- 29:07Speaker 2: at US box office when this aired, Letters to Juliette
- 29:09Speaker 2: was number three. Robin Hood never seen that one. Number
- 29:12Speaker 2: two one with Russell Crowe. I believe, Okay, it sounds
- 29:15Speaker 2: like a serious version of Robin Hood.
- 29:16Speaker 1: It was directed by Ridley Scott's guy Kepe Blanchett in
- 29:18Speaker 1: There's Any Good, Marian. No, it's dull.
- 29:21Speaker 2: I can imagine it would be dull. Yeah, Robinhood needs
- 29:23Speaker 2: to be fun and flamboyant.
- 29:24Speaker 1: It does. We need to get back to that fun
- 29:26Speaker 1: fact semi fun fact about this version of Robin Hood.
- 29:29Speaker 1: It actually started a script called Nottingham and it was
- 29:32Speaker 1: the robin Hood story told from the perspective of the
- 29:34Speaker 1: Sheriff of Nottingham. It's like, I'm just trying to keep
- 29:37Speaker 1: the peace around here, guys, and here's this guy who's
- 29:39Speaker 1: you know, this flamboyant. Do you think he is now
- 29:41Speaker 1: Kelly Robin from the riches and giving to the poor? Apparently, Yeah,
- 29:47Speaker 1: that sounded interesting. I would have watched that as opposed
- 29:49Speaker 1: to just you know, Russell Crown plain robin Hood. Don't
- 29:54Speaker 1: start me, I must kick off. I watched a Russell
- 29:57Speaker 1: Crowe movie over the weekend.
- 29:59Speaker 2: It was okay, is he entering his Nicolas Cagy or
- 30:02Speaker 2: just making movies for the sake of making them?
- 30:04Speaker 1: Now? I think so? Yeah, I mean, occasionally he will
- 30:06Speaker 1: be in like a legitimate, big budget thing, but also
- 30:08Speaker 1: he'll just be in a bunch of stuff that goes
- 30:10Speaker 1: straight to streaming. What do you think you need to
- 30:13Speaker 1: get him to do your movie? Is it just the
- 30:14Speaker 1: money or do you think he needs a genuine side.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I think he needs some kind of genuine connection to
- 30:19Speaker 1: the material. I think also if you dangle a nice
- 30:22Speaker 1: fat check in front of Russell, he will do it.
- 30:24Speaker 1: He has also entered that stage or it's it can
- 30:26Speaker 1: be Russell Crowe in his name will be above the title,
- 30:29Speaker 1: but more often than not now these as it's going
- 30:31Speaker 1: to be and Russell Crowe as ye like he's he's
- 30:34Speaker 1: in the upcoming remake of Highlander, ah okay, and he's
- 30:38Speaker 1: playing like the Sean Connery role in that. So he's
- 30:40Speaker 1: like where what's his face? Oh? God, godfather? What's his name?
- 30:44Speaker 1: Brando Brando?
- 30:45Speaker 2: Superman where it's like Marlon Brando as the dad very much.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Because well Crow was Superman's dad in Man's Steel. Yeah,
- 30:52Speaker 1: And when they were making that, it's very much like, oh,
- 30:56Speaker 1: you're following the Superman Superman the movie template of like
- 31:00Speaker 1: it's surround this unknown guy Henry cavill in this case
- 31:03Speaker 1: with a bunch of legitimate repeal blactics. Not that Henry
- 31:05Speaker 1: cav is not legit, but you know, rub from them. Yeah, indeed.
- 31:08Speaker 1: And I think Zack Snyder when he was making Man
- 31:11Speaker 1: of Steel is like, you know who we need to
- 31:12Speaker 1: get to play Superman's dad, the best actor in the word,
- 31:14Speaker 1: Let's ge Daniel da Lewis. Daniel Lewis said no, thank
- 31:16Speaker 1: you one, rather go, you know, eat my own ship.
- 31:19Speaker 1: It's like, how did you get this number? Whereas Russell
- 31:23Speaker 1: was like what flavor of ship? Russell? We shouldn't be
- 31:30Speaker 1: saying this because Russell he's probably googling those those blokes
- 31:34Speaker 1: on forfigure. This guy like Russell pull the Winston zen
- 31:37Speaker 1: War said if there's a steady p check, and I'll
- 31:39Speaker 1: do anything you said?
- 31:41Speaker 2: Was him recently where he's like, if you're a dick,
- 31:43Speaker 2: I'm not going to sign anything something. But but like
- 31:46Speaker 2: I'm on his side. He was like, yeah, back the
- 31:48Speaker 2: fuck up. I will sign all your stuff, but don't
- 31:51Speaker 2: get in my face about it. Sure, And everyone's like,
- 31:53Speaker 2: oh he's so rude, and I'm like no, no, no, no,
- 31:55Speaker 2: he's just.
- 31:56Speaker 1: He says he will sign their ship. He's back up.
- 31:58Speaker 1: He's setting boundary, Yeah, which I think you have to.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I think you do. Yeah, And I.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Mean two was number one still all right? Cool at
- 32:04Speaker 2: the US box office. Yeah, I mean everyone liked Iman
- 32:07Speaker 2: two or three, which everyone like the first one.
- 32:10Speaker 1: A lot of people like the third one, third one.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Ye.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Second one is people are gonna go what not quite
- 32:15Speaker 1: sure about this.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Who is the villain in the second one. It's Whiplash
- 32:17Speaker 2: played by Mickey Rourke. Yeah, but it's also because you've
- 32:21Speaker 2: got the two villains, because you've got whiplashes.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Like villains, don't they. But he is being bankrolled by
- 32:28Speaker 1: Tony Stark's rival, Justin Hammer played by Sam Rockwell. Sam
- 32:32Speaker 1: role has come out and do his a little cool
- 32:34Speaker 1: dance and everything like that. Basically, Elon Musk is in.
- 32:36Speaker 1: It is a cameoah, which is aged well or age badly,
- 32:41Speaker 1: depending on your thoughts about Big Daddy Elon.
- 32:43Speaker 2: It's like Trump's cameo and Home Alone too correct. Yeah,
- 32:46Speaker 2: just stands like a saw like, oh it's Trump.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Can I leg you? We name Humiloon. You don't have
- 32:52Speaker 1: to put it with these ladies.
- 32:54Speaker 2: It wasn't the deal that he let them use his
- 32:56Speaker 2: Trump Plaza for the filming as long as he was
- 32:58Speaker 2: in it or something something like that. Yeah, yeah, who
- 33:00Speaker 2: wouldn't who among us? But yeah, so that was the
- 33:04Speaker 2: top three films. Let us to Juliet, which you never
- 33:05Speaker 2: been bothered talking about. Is it worth even talking about
- 33:07Speaker 2: lest I'm trying to recall. I think you can't remember.
- 33:09Speaker 2: It's not worth talking about now.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I think it's like a romantic comedy set somewhere in
- 33:14Speaker 1: Italy and there's like a wall or something that you
- 33:19Speaker 1: or it's in like Verona where Romeo and Juliet is set.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Oh, it's a Kate Hudson film.
- 33:22Speaker 1: No, no, I think it is Kate Hudson.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Twenty ten romantic comedy.
- 33:26Speaker 1: I thought that's Amanda Seafried.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Oh shit, it is too. I thought it looks it
- 33:30Speaker 2: kind of looks like Kate Hudson at first glance.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Right, sure it does. And Christopher Egan, Yeah, that guy
- 33:35Speaker 1: is Australian. He used to be on Home and Away.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Yep.
- 33:37Speaker 2: While while in Verona, Yeah, Sophie joins a volunteer group
- 33:42Speaker 2: who responded to letters seeking romantic advice. When she replies
- 33:44Speaker 2: to a letter from Claire dated nineteen fifty seven, it
- 33:47Speaker 2: inspires her to search for her long lost love. Yeah,
- 33:50Speaker 2: people write letters to Juliet as in Romeo and Julia. Yeah,
- 33:53Speaker 2: I'd never heard of it, Christer Reagan, he's very much
- 33:56Speaker 2: like we have Matt David at home. It looks perfectly serviceable.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I did see it picture on Twitter yesterday, which I've
- 34:01Speaker 2: never seen before. I never heard this theory. It looks
- 34:03Speaker 2: like Matt Damon was an extra on Friends once. Have
- 34:05Speaker 2: you seen that photo?
- 34:05Speaker 1: I have not seen that.
- 34:06Speaker 2: There's no acknowledgment from him anyway. But you watch this
- 34:10Speaker 2: Matt Damon Friends extras from a season two episode, I
- 34:13Speaker 2: think episode five Friends extra. It looks like Matt Damon.
- 34:17Speaker 2: And I'm not even kidding, like you would bet your
- 34:19Speaker 2: life that it's Matt David. Look at that.
- 34:22Speaker 1: That looks like Matt Damon.
- 34:24Speaker 3: It does.
- 34:25Speaker 1: It's like everyone's like speaking out about it. It's about
- 34:28Speaker 1: because he goes. He won't answer the questions about it. Yeah, well,
- 34:30Speaker 1: what year is this or there.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Would have been ninety five because I started ninety four
- 34:34Speaker 2: this season two?
- 34:34Speaker 1: Okay, because his career is already sort of gathering a
- 34:37Speaker 1: fair bit of steam at this stage. I mean, yeah,
- 34:39Speaker 1: he would need to be an extra.
- 34:40Speaker 2: I don't think he needs to be an extra in
- 34:42Speaker 2: France because he's already been in like And also they no,
- 34:45Speaker 2: they filmed it in La don't they.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Yes?
- 34:47Speaker 2: Yeah, because it could have been like just for shits
- 34:49Speaker 2: and giggles, you know, possibly, yeah, because it was a
- 34:52Speaker 2: by season two.
- 34:53Speaker 1: The same time, he's he's not quite Matt mad Damon yet,
- 34:57Speaker 1: but he's also.
- 34:58Speaker 2: You've been in so good Behind was ninety seven. But
- 35:01Speaker 2: what was the one in ninety five that Joe Wasn't
- 35:04Speaker 2: he as me Joe Black?
- 35:06Speaker 1: Was he?
- 35:06Speaker 2: That's Brad Pitt, Brad Pitt.
- 35:08Speaker 1: I'm trying to remember, because there was The rain Maker
- 35:11Speaker 1: which came out rah I think maybe a year before,
- 35:13Speaker 1: and he's the star of that. He was in a
- 35:16Speaker 1: movie called Courage under Fire in ninety six with Denzel
- 35:18Speaker 1: Washington Coach.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Under Fire, Chasing Amy ninety seven. That's ninety seven, yeah, suit,
- 35:23Speaker 2: nothing that's like blowing your load coach.
- 35:26Speaker 1: But I mean school tires. I think in ninety two
- 35:29Speaker 1: was kind of like, oh, keep an eye on this kid.
- 35:30Speaker 1: And you know, he's got a fairly sizeable role in Geronimo,
- 35:32Speaker 1: which is like ninety three or some and that starts
- 35:35Speaker 1: like Robert Yaval and Gene Hackman that he's like maybe
- 35:39Speaker 1: fifth or sixth in the credits. I mean it's fairly
- 35:41Speaker 1: sizeable role. He's on the rise. I don't think that
- 35:44Speaker 1: any need.
- 35:45Speaker 2: This would have been filmed in ninety four, I reckon.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I think he is.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Probably, But that fucking looks like Matt Damon, right, it
- 35:53Speaker 2: really does.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Matt Damon and Matthew Perry to get him last. I
- 35:57Speaker 1: would bet my house now is bad Damon. You would think,
- 36:00Speaker 1: I mean, the hair looks right, the face yeah right, yeah, yeah,
- 36:03Speaker 1: how about that? You know that was an interesting division.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Yes, anyway, let's get to the episode Shelby finally.
- 36:13Speaker 1: For forty minutes.
- 36:17Speaker 2: So the episode originally aired May sixteen, twenty ten, Written
- 36:21Speaker 2: by John Frank and directed by Nancy Cruz. Guest stars
- 36:24Speaker 2: Kelsey Grummer as Sideshow Bob. What was this billboard gag?
- 36:28Speaker 1: The billboard gag? We well, first of all, you have
- 36:30Speaker 1: Krusty on the trapeze at the very start, okay, yep.
- 36:32Speaker 1: But also it's a billboard for the Springfield Retirement Castle
- 36:36Speaker 1: new vacancies every flu season. That's a bit dark. Chalkboard gag.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Batman is not nothing without his utility. But and the
- 36:42Speaker 2: couch gag is a play on Harold from Howard and
- 36:45Speaker 2: the Purple Crayon, which I've never read. My kids like
- 36:48Speaker 2: the movie starting with with Zachary Levy, we will about him,
- 36:53Speaker 2: but my kids like the movie. Yeah and yeah. So
- 36:55Speaker 2: he's drawn the living room and Homer asked him to
- 36:57Speaker 2: draw a can of beer and he doesn't, and he
- 36:59Speaker 2: drinks it.
- 37:00Speaker 1: That's one. That's one Harold. Indeed.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Now the episode kicks off at town hall and the
- 37:05Speaker 2: cities in crisis financially and needs some money. Even at
- 37:09Speaker 2: the front says like, our murals make us an offer,
- 37:11Speaker 2: and quldn't, says Yi. They're in financial trouble. They can't
- 37:13Speaker 2: cook the books or fudge numbers. And we get home
- 37:16Speaker 2: and having a vision of jumping into Checusi with Marge
- 37:18Speaker 2: and fudge and getting book.
- 37:20Speaker 1: He's cooking a book which then fudge and again.
- 37:22Speaker 2: So it's one of those scenes that were just like, oh, yeah,
- 37:24Speaker 2: maybe that's just like it just goes like two three
- 37:27Speaker 2: seconds too long.
- 37:28Speaker 1: It didn't need it.
- 37:29Speaker 2: That part, like the fact that he's in a chocursi
- 37:31Speaker 2: with the fudge in much is enough. They didn't even
- 37:32Speaker 2: making out with the fudge, correct. Yeah, but they're now
- 37:35Speaker 2: eliminating dead animal pickup I did my crusty coming past.
- 37:40Speaker 2: They're coming back on education, the shortened school hours to
- 37:42Speaker 2: just taking them straight home. They're not going to school
- 37:44Speaker 2: at all. And they have released the low level criminals
- 37:46Speaker 2: from prison, which at least explains how walken out in the.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Ft in the first place plant the seed.
- 37:51Speaker 2: The thing is, though, are we just supposed to assume
- 37:53Speaker 2: that Bob knew the city was in financial crisis and
- 37:55Speaker 2: they would come to this decision else was going to
- 37:58Speaker 2: get out?
- 37:59Speaker 1: Well do they? They do try to. I think he
- 38:02Speaker 1: said he's going to get out in a good behavior
- 38:04Speaker 1: or something something. Yeah.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Yeah, Homer is now driving like a jerk, because that's
- 38:08Speaker 2: what he is and said in twenty one for the
- 38:09Speaker 2: most part, he's a jerk. He thinks the police can't
- 38:11Speaker 2: enforce the laws because they've got their money, which has
- 38:13Speaker 2: proven because they've got a radar, which is just the
- 38:15Speaker 2: thermous stretched on top of a hose handle. And then
- 38:18Speaker 2: Wigham shows that the drawing, which you think is a
- 38:20Speaker 2: rough drawing, says Adroit, which a chuckle out of me.
- 38:23Speaker 1: It's fine, Yeah, it's like, yeah, you can't. They can't
- 38:25Speaker 1: even have guns anymore.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Just as a drawing of it, Yeah, everyone is selling
- 38:28Speaker 2: their homes and they're moving to Detroit to find a
- 38:30Speaker 2: better life. The joke being at Detroit was basically bankrupt
- 38:32Speaker 2: at this point as Detroit recovered yet, I don't know
- 38:35Speaker 2: that's that seems just insane to me, that it's just
- 38:38Speaker 2: an entire city can go we're out of money.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Yeah, well there's nearly.
- 38:41Speaker 2: It's wild Gelong nearly did that.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, nearly having New York in the seventies. Really Yeah,
- 38:46Speaker 1: there's a great headline because they I've forgoten the actual
- 38:50Speaker 1: logistics of it, but apparently New York would sort of
- 38:52Speaker 1: go to the federal government every year and you know,
- 38:55Speaker 1: sort of sell bonds in the city to get a
- 38:59Speaker 1: little cash to sort of keep thing running. And eventually
- 39:02Speaker 1: they went to Gerald Ford, who said, no, we're not
- 39:05Speaker 1: giving you any more money. And the headline, I think
- 39:07Speaker 1: one of the New York bankers was Ford to city
- 39:09Speaker 1: drop dead. Wow, but yeah, that happened. It happens to cities.
- 39:16Speaker 1: They just go bank.
- 39:17Speaker 2: That's why we sold market Square and now we can't
- 39:19Speaker 2: get it back. Was Chinese developers like it's like the
- 39:24Speaker 2: way sitting on it. Yeah.
- 39:25Speaker 1: A couple of dudes in Singapore are just.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Like, no, we're just gonna hold on to this land,
- 39:30Speaker 2: land on the heart of your city, in.
- 39:32Speaker 1: The middle of your city, and you can't do ship
- 39:34Speaker 1: like stretch come on, man, stretch down man.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Well, they're trying to get the Australian government to change
- 39:40Speaker 2: the law where it's like we can earn it back,
- 39:42Speaker 2: like we can just take it back from them. It's
- 39:44Speaker 2: like if you're not doing anything with it, then we
- 39:46Speaker 2: have the ground to say, well, either develop it or
- 39:48Speaker 2: it's ours again.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Which want. The guys in Singapore are like, it's got JB.
- 39:54Speaker 1: You've done it again. Once Jamie high Fight moved from
- 39:57Speaker 1: Market Square. It's done. Oh yeah, there are two. It's
- 40:02Speaker 1: being balanced. You got hairrow scarf on one and you
- 40:05Speaker 1: got JB on the other. If one of those lasers
- 40:07Speaker 1: like a falls into the abyss.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Because there's talks and then trying to turn it turn
- 40:15Speaker 2: it into a permanent farmer's market, bottom level would just
- 40:18Speaker 2: be permanent farmer's market.
- 40:19Speaker 1: I think it's a pretty good idea.
- 40:21Speaker 2: You must have just groceries and markets and butchers on
- 40:23Speaker 2: either side.
- 40:24Speaker 1: All the way. It be fucking unreal. Absolutely isn't. But
- 40:26Speaker 1: isn't that what they were planning to do with like
- 40:27Speaker 1: the Hamilton thing in Laurelble Street.
- 40:30Speaker 2: No, so, so they're doing markets right, or they're doing
- 40:34Speaker 2: trying to buy the market square to turn it into
- 40:35Speaker 2: the Farmer's Market good. Yeah, and call it the Geelong's
- 40:38Speaker 2: Market Square. Sounds great, Farmers Market Square, Yeah, make it
- 40:42Speaker 2: happen please anyway, love local references. We are unfortunately not
- 40:48Speaker 2: like Detroit when you speak to those people. And I've
- 40:52Speaker 2: got a mental health podcast. I've got a podcast where
- 40:54Speaker 2: we talk about the state of jeel to want to
- 40:57Speaker 2: hear about the sis. Yes, people leaving for Detroit and
- 41:01Speaker 2: March's warri because what if someone moves in next door
- 41:02Speaker 2: two Barts or four teenage Barts And then she also
- 41:05Speaker 2: has a vision of four teenage.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Bars drawing and caught her in the gar I did
- 41:10Speaker 1: like that gag. At least they're learning fractions.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Yeah, although they've done it two episodes in a row.
- 41:14Speaker 2: I won't talk about what happened in the next one.
- 41:16Speaker 2: But here the vision bubble, it's like twice the same
- 41:20Speaker 2: kind of gag twice and I'm like, what a.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Minute, that's true.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Two minutes Lisa and Barton now smelling the cookies, and
- 41:26Speaker 2: March says they're only doing it to subconsciously get you
- 41:28Speaker 2: to buy the house, because you want to live in
- 41:29Speaker 2: a house that smells like cookies. And Homer tries to
- 41:31Speaker 2: buy the house.
- 41:32Speaker 4: So Delicious must buy house. Marge, get loan preapproved or
- 41:38Speaker 4: for over asking wave inspections two days grow initial the
- 41:43Speaker 4: raider and disclosure and done.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Sorry, someone else has bought the house.
- 41:48Speaker 3: But my loan has already been sold in pieces to bags,
- 41:51Speaker 3: hedge funds and municipalities across the globe. At least, we'll
- 42:01Speaker 3: always that's not us, No, No.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Is that meant to be? Like the movie reference well,
- 42:08Speaker 1: BeO wolfs an age old legend. Yeah, yeah, the.
- 42:12Speaker 2: In the headlines at that point in time, you know.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Maybe there was a mechas Beowolf movie.
- 42:19Speaker 2: When was it seven? So it was a couple of
- 42:21Speaker 2: years before this episode.
- 42:22Speaker 1: But even then that was never really a huge hit.
- 42:24Speaker 3: Was a CG.
- 42:24Speaker 1: I didn't realize that mostly yeah.
- 42:27Speaker 2: But anyway, yeah, so things aren't going well, but someone's
- 42:29Speaker 2: bought the house next door to them. They have indeed, yes,
- 42:32Speaker 2: and It turns out that whoever was moving in has
- 42:34Speaker 2: fancy furniture.
- 42:35Speaker 1: It also drives a hybrid got cooyfish actuch means a
- 42:40Speaker 1: water feature.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Yeap drives a hybrid. But it goes to introduce himself.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Bart Simpson's start.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Hello, but say that again? Hello bar Hello bar Hello
- 42:50Speaker 1: but hello but hello but hello but.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Sano? What hom when you're watching? Was this the first
- 43:04Speaker 2: time we'd seen it?
- 43:06Speaker 1: Uh? Yes, I believe so.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Did you think it was si Jo Bob from the
- 43:09Speaker 2: get go? I mean the title kind of gives it away,
- 43:10Speaker 2: But didn't you think it was going to be a
- 43:12Speaker 2: spin and go? Oh?
- 43:12Speaker 3: No?
- 43:12Speaker 1: He just is a relative of bub or something. This
- 43:14Speaker 1: episode is called the Bob next Door. Yeah, one would
- 43:16Speaker 1: assume as such, although I think they did. I think
- 43:19Speaker 1: they're going to get around this. Yeah.
- 43:20Speaker 2: I think they did an okay job of planting enough
- 43:24Speaker 2: doubt because when you saw him in the padded cell,
- 43:27Speaker 2: did you think that was yeah Bob?
- 43:28Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah? Absolutely? Yeah? Okay.
- 43:30Speaker 2: So then Bart is now boarding up the doors in
- 43:32Speaker 2: the windows with photos and whatnot, and he says, you
- 43:34Speaker 2: will never forget that voice of Marge shays, you know,
- 43:36Speaker 2: he sounds a lot of that Fraser on Cheers, or
- 43:38Speaker 2: Fraser on Fraser or Lieutenant Tom Dodge. Yes, and damn periscope.
- 43:42Speaker 2: His name is Walt Warren. But Bart then sees a
- 43:45Speaker 2: silhouette which looks like side Joe Bob, but it's actually
- 43:47Speaker 2: Walt holding him up. Then Homer sees Flanders and he
- 43:51Speaker 2: thinks it's a woman with big boobs, but it's Flanners
- 43:54Speaker 2: with non fat yogurt. Nothing is ever boobs and ice
- 43:56Speaker 2: cream whatever. Yeah, and then this happened.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Someone put a clip up of The Simpsons the other
- 44:05Speaker 1: day on social media. It was I've forgotten, I've forgotten
- 44:08Speaker 1: the episode, but I think the Simpsons have got like
- 44:12Speaker 1: a foreign exchange student in their house. And you know
- 44:14Speaker 1: the foreign kid is like bad mouthing America or something.
- 44:19Speaker 1: M m an older that's an older one. So is it, oh, yeah,
- 44:23Speaker 1: a deal yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, And this is a yeah,
- 44:27Speaker 1: but this is also yeah, but this is a country
- 44:28Speaker 1: where you know, you can speak your mind and do
- 44:30Speaker 1: all this kind of stuff. And Homer say is something like,
- 44:33Speaker 1: maybe a dealer's right, and maybe this is a capitalist healthcape,
- 44:35Speaker 1: but maybe Lisa is right. In America is the greatest
- 44:37Speaker 1: country in the world. It's like because I was debating
- 44:40Speaker 1: they Yeah, it's like I missed the days when Homer
- 44:42Speaker 1: could actually sort of do that shit and it would
- 44:45Speaker 1: feel natural as part of the character. Well, it didn't
- 44:47Speaker 1: feel like always putting in his modical who said, oh
- 44:50Speaker 1: my god, it would never say something like that. It's
- 44:51Speaker 1: more like, no, Homer would actually say shit like that.
- 44:53Speaker 1: But then he could also be a dumb ass, but
- 44:55Speaker 1: not just the really crude, lumpy dumbass that he is
- 44:59Speaker 1: here this whole well nothing is a booz ors Like,
- 45:04Speaker 1: I don't want to get too fired up, but I
- 45:05Speaker 1: don't want to pull a Dando Rent. But I fucking
- 45:07Speaker 1: hate that. I just it just strikes me as so lazy.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I hold the Simpsons to a higher fucking standard.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and you should, because Homer would never used to
- 45:15Speaker 2: be a buffoon.
- 45:16Speaker 1: He was.
- 45:17Speaker 2: It was lazy as an oath. Yeah, but he wasn't
- 45:19Speaker 2: like a fucking moron.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Yeah. I just it just that I don't know why
- 45:24Speaker 1: it upset me so much. It doesn't clearly it's upsetting me.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, anyway, you used to be better, Yes,
- 45:32Speaker 2: indeed we all did, Yes, we all used to be better. Yeah,
- 45:35Speaker 2: Bar and Milhouse now attending to lure Bob out admit
- 45:38Speaker 2: that he's actually is Bob by singing Little Maids from
- 45:41Speaker 2: School Are We? Which is a reference to a call
- 45:44Speaker 2: back to because that's what family was singing on the
- 45:47Speaker 2: way to when they would become the Thompson's. And Bob
- 45:49Speaker 2: doesn't bite, though he says prefers a radio station eg.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Nine point four, and Millhouse also says how much he
- 45:54Speaker 2: likes it, and again we get the scene you discussed
- 45:55Speaker 2: earlier where Millhouse is just saying all these various things
- 45:58Speaker 2: and Bart says, shut up.
- 45:59Speaker 1: And it's the joke and end scene.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Yeah what, then sucks up to the neighborhood and this
- 46:04Speaker 2: feels very twenty ten, offering them all free WiFi.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Remember you used to be a place like you're offering
- 46:09Speaker 1: your wife off for free? Oh my god, quick log in, log.
- 46:12Speaker 2: In and everyone will be looking in. And it was
- 46:14Speaker 2: slow as shit, yes, because everyone's looking at hogging your
- 46:16Speaker 2: band with But then sneaks into the house and he
- 46:19Speaker 2: finds the magazines, which you've already touched on, and Marge says,
- 46:22Speaker 2: what are you doing indoors at an outdoor party? And
- 46:24Speaker 2: he shows she shows off or he shows off the knife.
- 46:26Speaker 2: She says it could be a d boner. He laughs
- 46:28Speaker 2: at the idea of the word boner. Yeah, just laugh
- 46:30Speaker 2: at the boner. Don't say it. Don't say boner, yeap,
- 46:32Speaker 2: And then she takes him to prison to see that
- 46:34Speaker 2: Bob's still in there.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Okay, man sideshow. Bob cell is all the way at
- 46:39Speaker 1: the end, walk fast and don't call attention to yourself.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Pretty Lately in a strapless dress, come, I through what
- 46:48Speaker 1: you're my wife? I never would have killed you. You're
- 46:51Speaker 1: very sweet. Nothing is holding up the dress, only her Milla.
- 46:57Speaker 2: And then they see Bob in the padded cell, a
- 47:00Speaker 2: texter in his mouth. Of course you can't understand what
- 47:02Speaker 2: he's saying because he's writing on the walls. And I
- 47:05Speaker 2: liked the twist here of him writing Bart Simpson will
- 47:07Speaker 2: die because that feels like something that Bob would write.
- 47:09Speaker 2: But he was trying to warn them. Yeah, I like that.
- 47:13Speaker 2: And pretty Letty coming back and she says she's married
- 47:15Speaker 2: and they sorry.
- 47:16Speaker 1: So which is.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Been done in the past, was well, it's the episode
- 47:21Speaker 2: marginal lamb like the motorcycle gang in the room. I said, no,
- 47:26Speaker 2: I completely please except wastmin or Henry Winkler John Goodman. No,
- 47:34Speaker 2: it wasn't that episode. Wasn't that one. It was Marginal
- 47:36Speaker 2: lamb Is when Ruth powers and Margin the thumbla and
- 47:39Speaker 2: Louise parody.
- 47:40Speaker 1: That's right. Yes, sorry, dive, but oh you did completely
- 47:44Speaker 1: except my sorry. I was thinking of that.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that is so much funny than this, I said, no,
- 47:51Speaker 2: forgive me. I see the kids are rewatching classic Simpsons
- 47:55Speaker 2: now right for the first time, because they've binged like
- 47:58Speaker 2: the entire first eight sasons already, like they're just smashing
- 48:01Speaker 2: through it. But I'm watching it with them. And there
- 48:03Speaker 2: are so many episodes from that era that I never
- 48:05Speaker 2: really gave enough time to, and Margin lalamb is one
- 48:08Speaker 2: of them. There are so many jokes in that one,
- 48:11Speaker 2: which has one of my favorite openings Homer story openings
- 48:14Speaker 2: of all time. Can get his hands start stuck in
- 48:16Speaker 2: the vending machines, unbelievable and like my kids, just like
- 48:21Speaker 2: were talking about earlier absolute cinema Homer holding.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Onto the cans they thought was the greatest. It's funny.
- 48:28Speaker 1: He's like, we have to saw your arms up, but
- 48:29Speaker 1: my son, Alliot's like, oh, do do it now, your
- 48:35Speaker 1: mind's made very that's good buffoonery.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, oh were you just talking to the cans?
- 48:40Speaker 2: Your point being that's good oafishness.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's because who are like I gotta chance
- 48:48Speaker 1: to get a free soda Yeah, I got to chance
- 48:51Speaker 1: to get a free boost bar here. Yeah.
- 48:52Speaker 2: And he has the vision here where it's like free
- 48:54Speaker 2: candy and sodas for all.
- 48:58Speaker 1: That's great. Now there may be you know, viewers or
- 49:00Speaker 1: listens out there going, don't know what's the difference. They're
- 49:03Speaker 1: both home being a dumber. It's like, I don't know,
- 49:06Speaker 1: I think one's much better than the other.
- 49:07Speaker 2: And it has Wigham and Homer try spending the night
- 49:11Speaker 2: together because they're trying to chase down Ruth and March.
- 49:13Speaker 2: It has my favorite Wigan moment of all time where
- 49:17Speaker 2: they're chasing after March and Ruth. So Homer's with Wigham
- 49:20Speaker 2: trying to find him and they're chasing after him, and
- 49:22Speaker 2: Marge says to Ruth, we're never gonna be able to
- 49:24Speaker 2: get away from them, and Ruth goats, I've got an idea,
- 49:27Speaker 2: and she turns the lights off and then.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Goes, oh, it's a ghost car.
- 49:33Speaker 2: It's just the ghost car gets a ghost car. Mag
- 49:40Speaker 2: margin the lamb. You haven't watched it for a while,
- 49:41Speaker 2: check it out. Is one of those Colonel Homer as well.
- 49:44Speaker 2: The kids watch Colonel Homer recently. Bord An episode Cool
- 49:46Speaker 2: you want to cry? Watch the end of that last
- 49:48Speaker 2: five minutes of the episode.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Who does not?
- 49:49Speaker 2: But get back to the Bob next door if we
- 49:52Speaker 2: have to, So we're basically this is where Marge has
- 49:54Speaker 2: taking Bart's to the prison to prove that Bob's there.
- 49:56Speaker 2: So now Bob, now Bart feels safe. But we see
- 50:00Speaker 2: hear that Bob. Bob chokes on the text, escapes, pretends
- 50:03Speaker 2: he's a fern here, right, I've got here in my notes.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Either commit to this bit or don't write so he's
- 50:08Speaker 2: escaping from prison. He pretends he's a little fern in
- 50:10Speaker 2: the corner. A dog walks up and pieces on him. Yes,
- 50:13Speaker 2: but you don't see him. He just clocks his leg.
- 50:15Speaker 2: Nothing comes out. He sort of like shakes his head
- 50:17Speaker 2: and there's no sort of liquid. It's like, either commit
- 50:19Speaker 2: to that bit orca is they commit to it?
- 50:20Speaker 1: Correct? Yeah?
- 50:21Speaker 2: Like it's like, don't you're not going to show it happening,
- 50:23Speaker 2: Just don't do it. I don't think anyone's going to
- 50:25Speaker 2: be terribly offended. No, no, and he jumps over the
- 50:28Speaker 2: wall which has Alberto's pand on the inside. By the way,
- 50:30Speaker 2: it was interesting and Wigan was aslip at the wheel
- 50:32Speaker 2: and yeah, so you think sar Joe Bob was escaped
- 50:34Speaker 2: from prison, but it's not actually si Jo Bob. We
- 50:36Speaker 2: can't waking up thinking he's all safe now. And what
- 50:38Speaker 2: arrives as muche is about to pick up the paper,
- 50:40Speaker 2: which is kind of weird, and he offers Bart a
- 50:42Speaker 2: ticket to the baseball I believe it's a baseball right,
- 50:45Speaker 2: It's a sporting event of some kind a believe and
- 50:48Speaker 2: and Marge says, you know you can if you clean
- 50:51Speaker 2: your room. No good to give you something to do
- 50:52Speaker 2: while whilst you're at the game. And then as they're
- 50:54Speaker 2: driving away, Walt gives him like a little evil face,
- 50:56Speaker 2: and you think, what's going on here? And then Homer
- 50:58Speaker 2: thinks that you walk. He says the scale is lying again.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Bob is now at the window, and they panic and
- 51:04Speaker 2: they think it's going to be such a Bob. It's
- 51:06Speaker 2: actually what Warren. He says, I'm what Warren. I'm the real,
- 51:09Speaker 2: the real Waltz. And this is such an obvious thing.
- 51:12Speaker 2: If you're what, then who's taking our son to the game?
- 51:15Speaker 2: I was like, is a joke went to be that?
- 51:17Speaker 2: That's so obvious?
- 51:18Speaker 1: Is that the joke?
- 51:20Speaker 2: Was this a cut to an ad or No, it
- 51:21Speaker 2: was cut to Bob then revealing himself to being if
- 51:25Speaker 2: you're really Wald, and who's taking my son to the game?
- 51:28Speaker 2: Could it be the one that the guy that Bart
- 51:30Speaker 2: says has been the entire time?
- 51:31Speaker 1: That's true. I know I just said do better Simpsons
- 51:33Speaker 1: and all that kind of stuff, but that's kind of
- 51:35Speaker 1: very much tried and true TV stuff. But like, yeah,
- 51:37Speaker 1: previously on the black List, I hold the Simpsons to
- 51:39Speaker 1: a bigger standard, higher standard as you would say, except
- 51:42Speaker 1: in certain circumstances.
- 51:44Speaker 2: So then he's free now to seeing all the Gilbert
- 51:46Speaker 2: and soul and I can so now he's going full Kelsey.
- 51:48Speaker 2: He is, and he's allowed to be. The Simpsons are
- 51:51Speaker 2: now tied up Waltz and then he reveals that he's
- 51:54Speaker 2: got small feet, so it can't be Sicho Bob, and
- 51:55Speaker 2: he explains that he was his sale mate, and Bob
- 51:58Speaker 2: explains that HeLa the same time, Bob explains we had
- 52:01Speaker 2: the same build, and he's measuring he says, well, do
- 52:03Speaker 2: you keep measuring my face?
- 52:04Speaker 1: He says something that is.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Better than what my previous Yes, that it can be
- 52:08Speaker 2: just implies that there was a lot of non consensual action.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Yeah, going on.
- 52:12Speaker 2: He gives him an aesthetic and he removes his face.
- 52:15Speaker 2: Five second rule picks back up. And then they said
- 52:17Speaker 2: the hard part was going to be removing my own face.
- 52:19Speaker 2: But luckily I lost all sensation in my face, or
- 52:21Speaker 2: so I thought, and no he had not. So he
- 52:23Speaker 2: cuts his own face off, which is just brutal. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Then he's walking out and he's leaving with one hundred
- 52:29Speaker 2: and forty three thousand dollars because they invested his twenty
- 52:31Speaker 2: seven thousand dollars well invested wisely yeap Waltam explains that
- 52:34Speaker 2: they thought he was babbling when he's in the padded cell,
- 52:37Speaker 2: but no, he was trying to write to the message
- 52:38Speaker 2: on the wall and march. You must admit it was
- 52:40Speaker 2: open to interpretation, and he said, well, I'm not a writer.
- 52:43Speaker 2: And then Bob's. They're going to Bob's, to which hold,
- 52:46Speaker 2: I'm not a locksmith. Yes, Bries open the door and
- 52:49Speaker 2: it turns out that Bob's house is full of pictures
- 52:51Speaker 2: of bart with knives in them, and the leader realizes
- 52:53Speaker 2: that they've taken them. He's taken them to the Five
- 52:55Speaker 2: Corners part of the world. So then the gas and
- 52:58Speaker 2: grub and this is where we get to what's her name, Joyce. Yeah,
- 53:02Speaker 2: she's just she's in love with him. Why, Oh, she's
- 53:04Speaker 2: just desperate, just a lonely waitress.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:07Speaker 2: She offers him free coffee. He's got a firm hand,
- 53:09Speaker 2: that's right looking men with a firm hand that she
- 53:10Speaker 2: sees a loose thread and pulls his face off, which
- 53:13Speaker 2: is just horrifying. Oh goodness, yes, yeah, not good at all.
- 53:16Speaker 2: She begs him to come back, and then the Simpsons
- 53:18Speaker 2: arrive and she tells them to give him a diversion,
- 53:20Speaker 2: tells him that he's gone to Mexico, which they believe,
- 53:22Speaker 2: which I thought the Simpsons going to Mexico has felt,
- 53:24Speaker 2: So we have to have the Simpsons away from Waltz
- 53:28Speaker 2: for a bit. Yeah, it's like, I don't know, I
- 53:29Speaker 2: just didn't like the fact that they somehow drove to
- 53:31Speaker 2: Mexico and back in time. Oh I forgot about that,
- 53:34Speaker 2: but they drove because walt says, well, I'm going to
- 53:36Speaker 2: five corners. Anyway, I don't think that's where he's gone
- 53:39Speaker 2: to Mexico. I think she's lying and it Simpson's like, no,
- 53:41Speaker 2: we're going to Mexico. So then they drive to Mexico
- 53:43Speaker 2: and they try to order a taco goes and then
- 53:46Speaker 2: somehow I get back at the end in time, like.
- 53:48Speaker 1: What it was silly, but I didn't mind the whole
- 53:53Speaker 1: what's your word for? Tago? Tago? Yeah, just that misunderstanding.
- 53:57Speaker 1: I thought that was okay, it was all right.
- 53:59Speaker 2: But this is where joyces all the good men are
- 54:01Speaker 2: either gay or have no face, and Bart says, what
- 54:03Speaker 2: do you want to kill me for? I'll probably end
- 54:04Speaker 2: up killing myself, pretends to choke on his own tongue,
- 54:07Speaker 2: and he isn't going to murder him where he can't
- 54:08Speaker 2: be prosecuted. And this is where he spoils Harry Potter.
- 54:13Speaker 2: He's like, ohy on, it's a four year old book,
- 54:14Speaker 2: and I'm like, I was still surprised they did it. Yeah,
- 54:17Speaker 2: I'm like, I know, I know big books, I know
- 54:19Speaker 2: I know they'll popular. I know everyone knew about it
- 54:21Speaker 2: at that point in time, but it's like, it's still
- 54:22Speaker 2: it's a pretty big spoiler. Oh, yeah, yeah, again, four
- 54:25Speaker 2: year old book. But Bart keeps jumping into different states
- 54:28Speaker 2: so that he's not able to do the man. The
- 54:31Speaker 2: plan ends up jumping on a rake. I didn't need
- 54:33Speaker 2: the rake, just didn't need it.
- 54:34Speaker 1: No, no, but you know that's gonna have a lot
- 54:36Speaker 1: of people doing the DiCaprio point.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Yes, it's the rake gag. Then Well interferes, but there's
- 54:43Speaker 2: a bee underneath his cheeks, so he gets taken over
- 54:45Speaker 2: by Bob, the real Bob takes the gun backs.
- 54:49Speaker 3: For the love of God, want somebody help us?
- 54:52Speaker 4: Yes, i'd like, how do you say taco and Mexican doc? Yeah,
- 54:56Speaker 4: it's exactly the word I want to translate.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Can we please find Bart?
- 55:01Speaker 3: Oh?
- 55:01Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah right, just give me one of those crispy
- 55:04Speaker 4: shows with meat in it.
- 55:07Speaker 2: We come back now, and Walt asks to be killed
- 55:10Speaker 2: in Hawaii this week. The Switches of East face like
- 55:14Speaker 2: line from Wigham, and he's like, I don't want to
- 55:16Speaker 2: Switches of East face. I don't want to sense to
- 55:18Speaker 2: myself that's how creativity dies.
- 55:21Speaker 1: What, yeah, what I mean? Switches yes face? Yes, East
- 55:26Speaker 1: what I mean?
- 55:27Speaker 2: I know it's the Witches of East week, but still
- 55:28Speaker 2: Switches of East face doesn't make sense.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Really, clans, he's not going to sense for himself. Then
- 55:33Speaker 1: he explains.
- 55:34Speaker 2: He explains that Bart called in advance because he still
- 55:37Speaker 2: knew that it was going to be such a bob,
- 55:39Speaker 2: so he warned him to to track him, which all
- 55:40Speaker 2: hybrids are secretly monitored by the government. And then Bob
- 55:43Speaker 2: calls him clancy because he doesn't have jurisdiction there in
- 55:46Speaker 2: this state. And then all the cops from the various
- 55:48Speaker 2: states arrive. Indeed, and the family arrived for Mexico as well.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Home Iss stressed up as a Mexican just because, and
- 55:54Speaker 2: Bart says, somehow again, I know they used to do
- 55:58Speaker 2: this kind of stuff in the in the early years
- 55:59Speaker 2: of Bart being me and to each other. But She's
- 56:02Speaker 2: just like everything's all back to the way it should be, Like, no,
- 56:04Speaker 2: he switched his face with you.
- 56:05Speaker 1: But I was like, yawn, it is such a lazy ship.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Jo, It's just so dumb, like after everything, it's like
- 56:15Speaker 2: everything's gone down but been murdered.
- 56:16Speaker 1: It's just like he switched your face with you. But
- 56:18Speaker 1: like that that's how you're ending this. That is how
- 56:21Speaker 1: they ended.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Yeah, someone knew moves in and its cousin Ted Flanders
- 56:25Speaker 2: and Conny and Bonnie. Yeah, and I was like, stupid,
- 56:28Speaker 2: and that's the end. Yeah, And I guarantee you whenever
- 56:30Speaker 2: see cousin Ted ever again.
- 56:32Speaker 1: Probably not. Wouldn't this be a funny Would it be
- 56:38Speaker 1: a funny way to end the episode?
- 56:39Speaker 2: I don't think it was anyway, But they've done this
- 56:43Speaker 2: joke before when Flanders had the family barbecue and they're
- 56:46Speaker 2: all Blander Reno's Yeah. Anyway, anyway, the Bob next Door.
- 56:52Speaker 1: We made We made it to the end of the episode. Folks.
- 56:54Speaker 2: It was a good Bob story, but there was just
- 56:57Speaker 2: as you're saying, there was still a lot of gags
- 56:59Speaker 2: in here that just remind you that you watching season
- 57:01Speaker 2: twenty one of The Simpsons.
- 57:02Speaker 1: Correct, Yeah, just the air is going out of the tires.
- 57:05Speaker 1: What do we learn, Bomber?
- 57:07Speaker 2: Hey?
- 57:07Speaker 1: Would you learn from this episode? Dann it?
- 57:09Speaker 2: What did I learn from this episode? To make sure
- 57:11Speaker 2: that you have no sensation in your face before you
- 57:12Speaker 2: slice it off with a scalpel.
- 57:13Speaker 1: That's a really good lesson to learn from this. Don't
- 57:16Speaker 1: have any loose threads? Correct? Correct? What I learn? Keep
- 57:20Speaker 1: your radio tuned to any nine point four the spurt.
- 57:22Speaker 2: I actually it's actually life advice. If you see a
- 57:24Speaker 2: loose thread on a shirt, don't pull it, because I've
- 57:26Speaker 2: made shirts worse by pulling the loose thread. Sure, it's
- 57:28Speaker 2: like you can get to pull it off, and it's
- 57:30Speaker 2: just like making it long ago.
- 57:31Speaker 1: Oh no, you get that puck a thing. Yes, it worse.
- 57:36Speaker 1: It's a little snip, a little snip forward. Your names
- 57:40Speaker 1: will be.
- 57:40Speaker 2: It is time for the Guy Davis New Day and
- 57:42Speaker 2: championship here for season twenty one, the second last week
- 57:45Speaker 2: of the season. The current leaderboard stands at this In
- 57:48Speaker 2: first position, we have Philip J. Hawkins on twenty four points.
- 57:51Speaker 2: In second position we have Kyle Muldoon sorry, Nathan Briggs
- 57:54Speaker 2: on seventeen points, and in third position Clif Kyle and
- 57:57Speaker 2: Mike Salter on fifteen points. Take it away, So let
- 57:59Speaker 2: me do the maths here. No, it's impossible, no, Jay Hawkens.
- 58:04Speaker 2: But still second and third could be open.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so we'll see, let's see what happens. Let's do
- 58:10Speaker 1: it all right, one point go to I only have
- 58:14Speaker 1: this one point because it's a bit of a spoiler
- 58:16Speaker 1: for the episode. But one point goes to a race
- 58:19Speaker 1: to trace the fees.
- 58:21Speaker 2: That is Brian Hugh's me Hughes But on hugh'sy one point,
- 58:24Speaker 2: there you go easy not doing too well himself the
- 58:27Speaker 2: real life he's easy.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Not really what's happening to Hughesy. I mean, he's sort
- 58:31Speaker 1: of been politically deranged.
- 58:32Speaker 2: But he also absolutely looks like he's just playing the
- 58:34Speaker 2: bit now. He's just he's milking it because obviously there's
- 58:37Speaker 2: there's an audience for that, and he realizes that people
- 58:41Speaker 2: weren't finding him funny anymore. There's probably more money to
- 58:43Speaker 2: be made in being being a political rant just talking
- 58:48Speaker 2: like this and just sort of really monotone and just
- 58:50Speaker 2: you know, just sort of pretending that you know, I'm
- 58:52Speaker 2: crazy and just sort of saying stuff like this. A
- 58:54Speaker 2: lot of other sort of comedians are now making bank
- 58:58Speaker 2: off of impersonating him. Oh yeah, our pal Davel was
- 59:02Speaker 2: talking to Day a couple of weeks about it, Yeah,
- 59:03Speaker 2: a couple days ago about it.
- 59:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:04Speaker 2: He's just like he's like, this is like the greatest
- 59:06Speaker 2: thing of all time. He wants to make on the show, Dave,
- 59:09Speaker 2: please do.
- 59:12Speaker 1: He has yet to be on our show. I would
- 59:13Speaker 1: like to get him on here as I'm sage but friendly.
- 59:15Speaker 1: Geordie's I'd like to get him on because he's been
- 59:17Speaker 1: doing some very good Husy continent. He does a terrific
- 59:19Speaker 1: Hugsy impersonation.
- 59:20Speaker 2: It's very amped up Newsy Never there was an interesting
- 59:26Speaker 2: tweet where it's like the irony of all these mediocre
- 59:28Speaker 2: comedians now making the name for themselves having ship on Hughesy,
- 59:32Speaker 2: wh're knowing e a fuck about them three months ago,
- 59:34Speaker 2: and it's just like it's true.
- 59:36Speaker 1: I guess I wouldn't say that about our pal day no,
- 59:38Speaker 1: no oh yeah. But also Hughsy just looking rough. Yeah,
- 59:42Speaker 1: he's got he's got to be planning it up. There's
- 59:44Speaker 1: no way.
- 59:45Speaker 2: It looks like he's on a crack, you know, it
- 59:47Speaker 2: looks like he's on the math anyway, he's making a
- 59:50Speaker 2: metha things. Yeah.
- 59:54Speaker 1: But by the way, congratulations to Brian who yes he
- 59:59Speaker 1: got a point. Well not on math, not on math,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: math not a guarante. Two points goes to ones. You
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: bleed my neighbor. Oh that is Philip J. Hawkins anywhere
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: on call off the contest. It's done because.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: That puts him on twenty six points down.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, Philip Jay Hawkins, he's earned the full the
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: full title there, but three points. Hey, you may have
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: won the war, Philip ja Hawks didn't win. There's baffle
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: because three points goes to whoever gave us love thy
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: nigh Bob.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Oh, that is quite salty. It's Mike Salter, which puts
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: him out right second position now in eighteen points Salt Bay.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: See I told you there was still a race in there. Yeah,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: if not a race to the very you know, championship
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: or whatever, but still got second comes right after first.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Yes, Nathan Briggs on seventeen points in third, Mike Salter
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: on eighteen points in second, and Philip J. Hawkins on
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: twenty six points in first position. Heyway, and we still
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: have one episode to go. We do, and in the
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: last episode we're gonna offer ten points. Wait, we're not
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: really not like what.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Philip days up up all night, just coming up with
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: please don't judge the judge me tender Dan. It mustn't mean.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: When I see the title of hen, it just made
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: me think I could go some KFC. Did somebody say
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: KF See how you say that? Right?
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: They had the perfect campaign and they fucked it. Oh
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: they changed it. It's now the do do Do Do
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: do dot? Whatever the fuck that song is right, Yeah,
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: sure to get inspired you had I don't care, I
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: love it everyone's Does someone say KFC? That was the
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: perfect fucking campaign you could look, I said to Nikola
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Bunning's worked out what jingle worked and they stung with
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: their house it works, leave it, don't touch it?
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: They thirteen thirteen thirty two.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: I don't care, I love it was the perfect Did
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: someone say KFC? That is your slogan forever whatever his?
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Does someone say KFC? My kids were saying, does someone
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: say KFC? Now it's I'm like, that's not fun.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: You're Australia's most noted kernelologist. Has KFC? Kentucky Fried Chicken
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: ever paid out some money to the Elvis Presley estate
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: and done Love Me Tenders? I can't recall they have
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: no there you go? Come on, come on, guys, what
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: are we even what are we even doing here? Love
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Me Tenders? Turn for ten.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: That feels like a very nineteen ninety so because remember
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: hungry jack us to go hungry eyes. What is like
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: eating really slowly in seductively. Well that's that version of
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: burger king for those playing in America, that's correct, yes,
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: and England. I don't have hungred jacks anywhere but Australia.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Why is it called hungry jacks here?
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: We could look this up.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: They tried to change something to burger king and everyone's like,
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: I prefer hungry jacks taste better jacks.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: See that's their slogan. They stuck with the works.

- 1:03:14Speaker 1: We get you'll get hungry jacks. It better to be done.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: We're accusing the sentences of being lazy with their joke telling,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: and here we are just sort of relating stand up
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: routine for the millionth time. But anyway, it's good with me,
