- 0:00Speaker 1: Enough is enough. I have had it. Why so serious?
- 0:08Speaker 2: And we hold the world ransom for Wayne Gandy.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Excuse me while I whip this out.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Show me.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Broadcasting live in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 0:18Speaker 3: This is the Sports Chalk Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You may build me up.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Build me up, yeah.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you build me.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Up, yeah.
- 0:27Speaker 4: But you won't break me down. I've come too far.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I'm too far, yeah.
- 0:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I've come too far, yeah.
- 0:34Speaker 1: So just throw in the towel.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 0:37Speaker 1: It's a new day.
- 0:37Speaker 6: I'm a, I'm a doobie.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna go all the way.
- 0:40Speaker 1: You may build me up.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Welcome, welcome, welcome! You're listening to the Sports Shock Show.
- 0:48Speaker 3: I am the Sports Shock, Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you,
- 0:53Speaker 3: or may I say hottie effing toddy to start this
- 1:00Speaker 3: show off this morning. All the way from the Grove, Oxford, Mississippi.
- 1:08Speaker 3: And I can speak well about it because I invaded
- 1:10Speaker 3: Oxford a couple of times and put that lump on
- 1:14Speaker 3: Ole Miss. But this is a different Ole Miss team.
- 1:17Speaker 3: They decided to welcome their previous coach. And when I
- 1:21Speaker 3: say previous, I'm talking about in the last calendar year.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I'm not talking about like forever ago. I'm talking about
- 1:30Speaker 3: as the New Year bell rang for 2026 Lane Kiffin.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Was the coach of Ole Miss. Great game, great entry
- 1:40Speaker 3: going into the game. Ole Miss Rebel, Trinidad Chambliss being
- 1:46Speaker 3: able to take down their old ball coach. But we'll
- 1:49Speaker 3: get into that with the guys. I'm going to go
- 1:51Speaker 3: ahead on and get this off the docket so I
- 1:54Speaker 3: can get a better feel out of the bad producer
- 1:59Speaker 3: because he comes in, he's down. And then I read
- 2:04Speaker 3: things like Drake London is having to yell at some
- 2:07Speaker 3: fans and he, you know, in his feelings, which is
- 2:10Speaker 3: rightful for him to defend himself if he felt like
- 2:13Speaker 3: the fan went too far. And then I hear from
- 2:16Speaker 3: Comanche Greg who says that a couple of his friends
- 2:19Speaker 3: went to the game. First he asked me, did I
- 2:22Speaker 3: go see the Carolina Panthers? I laughed.
- 2:26Speaker 1: That was my mistake. A hearty laugh.
- 2:30Speaker 3: A hearty laugh. And then he says, a couple of
- 2:33Speaker 3: his friends says that the crowd turned on Cooper Rush. Listen,
- 2:38Speaker 3: fans of the Falcons. This is not Cooper Rush's fault.
- 2:48Speaker 3: This is not Drack Strand's fault. This is not Kevin
- 2:56Speaker 3: the Fancy's fault. This is not Matt Ryan's fault. This
- 3:07Speaker 3: is what you have when you're on the third quarterback.
- 3:19Speaker 1: If your first.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Quarterback started a game and got hurt, and then your
- 3:22Speaker 3: second quarterback started a game and got hurt, and then
- 3:25Speaker 3: they sent the emergency quarterback in the game, which would
- 3:29Speaker 3: equal the third quarterback, you would not feel like you
- 3:37Speaker 3: would win. Your story, if you would win, would be
- 3:44Speaker 3: how bad Miraculous. It was a win. That's what Cooper
- 3:51Speaker 3: Rush and Jack Strand are. They're your third and fourth quarterback.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Cooper Rush wasn't even good enough to be on a
- 4:03Speaker 3: training camp.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Roster.
- 4:11Speaker 3: And I don't know what you think you will get
- 4:13Speaker 3: by booing the third quarterback. But encouragement is what you
- 4:18Speaker 3: need for him. Booing is for the first and second guy.
- 4:26Speaker 3: The third guy, you just keep trying to encourage to
- 4:32Speaker 3: play above your head. Just try.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Come on, Coop. Coop! Coop! Maybe that's what they were saying.
- 4:42Speaker 7: Coop!
- 4:42Speaker 1: Come on, Coop. That's all you have for the third guy.
- 4:54Speaker 3: But somewhere in the delusion of the Falcon fan and
- 4:57Speaker 3: any fan who thinks that the third QB, do you
- 5:01Speaker 3: know some teams, once they lose their first and second guy,
- 5:05Speaker 3: They make a trade during the week. Jane Daniels is hurt.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Marcus Mariota is up. Right now, the commanders are on
- 5:19Speaker 3: the line with different teams preparing that if something happens
- 5:24Speaker 3: to Marcus Mariota, they can poach somebody's backup. They can
- 5:33Speaker 3: figure out how to get Kirk Cousins back. They can
- 5:41Speaker 3: figure out how to get Shadua Sanders. They'll come up
- 5:49Speaker 3: with some trade because they typically will not go to
- 5:53Speaker 3: that fourth guy.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Play Jack Strand. You saw how that went.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Why?
- 5:59Speaker 8: Why?
- 6:02Speaker 3: Why do you think you're smarter than the people in
- 6:05Speaker 3: the building with these players?
- 6:06Speaker 1: You think their jobs actually hinge.
- 6:09Speaker 3: You're just there for the popcorn, for Big Tigger, and
- 6:15Speaker 3: some of those guys, rapper guys to perform. Matt, Ryan,
- 6:19Speaker 3: and the rest of those people, this is their job.
- 6:26Speaker 3: This is their job. And I'm talking about it's a
- 6:29Speaker 3: 24 to 36-month job based on how you win or lose.
- 6:34Speaker 1: That's all you really got.
- 6:37Speaker 3: No matter how beloved you are, we see it, right?
- 6:42Speaker 3: There's no long-handled spoon anymore.
- 6:45Speaker 1: No.
- 6:46Speaker 3: It's a short in the drawer. Same old one you
- 6:49Speaker 3: store your tea with. That's where coaches are, GMs are now.
- 6:54Speaker 3: They'll pay you to leave. When you last time y'all
- 6:59Speaker 3: saw a picture of Jimbo Fisher from Texas A & M?
- 7:03Speaker 3: Have you even seen him? I mean, TMZ came fine.
- 7:08Speaker 3: And so, you know, they can find anybody. They got
- 7:15Speaker 3: a special coming out with Jimmy Hoffa. So, you know,
- 7:19Speaker 3: I'm just saying Comanche Greg is in the building. Big Kenny,
- 7:21Speaker 3: the funny man himself and the bad producer. I feel you,
- 7:25Speaker 3: Falcon fans. I'm right there with you. But Cooper Rush
- 7:30Speaker 3: decided to be the quarterback. I figured 0-2. Who's up
- 7:35Speaker 3: next for the Falcons? As far as the schedule? On
- 7:39Speaker 3: the schedule. Who do they play next week? Green Bay,
- 7:42Speaker 3: Thursday night. They play Green Bay Thursday night.
- 7:46Speaker 1: A chance to get back in the winner's circle.
- 7:48Speaker 3: If Cooper Rush or Jack Strand is the starting quarterback
- 7:52Speaker 3: Thursday night, It's 0-3.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I had a.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Quick question about that. So go ahead on and prepare
- 8:00Speaker 3: for that. If either of those two are your quarterback
- 8:04Speaker 3: Thursday night. Now, if Michael Pennix comes back Thursday night, hey,
- 8:08Speaker 3: maybe some magic could happen. Maybe he'll do that thing.
- 8:11Speaker 3: But right now, there's no inspiration for a team. We
- 8:14Speaker 3: don't have. I'm taking inside the helmet like I do sometimes.
- 8:20Speaker 3: We have faith. and the first and second quarterbacks. Some
- 8:28Speaker 3: of us don't know who the third quarterback is. That's
- 8:31Speaker 3: how irrelevant he is. You want to know how I know?
- 8:37Speaker 3: In 1998, a young man named Kurt Warner came to
- 8:42Speaker 3: the Rams. He was the third quarterback. They had got
- 8:48Speaker 3: him from some grocery store. And the only reason I
- 8:53Speaker 3: started knowing who Kurt was, because Isaac Bruce, because we
- 8:57Speaker 3: were playing so bad at quarterback, the great Hall of Famer,
- 9:02Speaker 3: we were at practice taking a knee. He had got
- 9:05Speaker 3: tired of Tony Banks or whoever was starting at that time.
- 9:09Speaker 3: I think we might have been on Mark Rippon. And
- 9:12Speaker 3: he said they should play Kurt Warner. And I remember
- 9:21Speaker 3: responding to him, the dude that's holding the clipboard. He said, yeah, man,
- 9:26Speaker 3: Kurt though, a good ball. But for the rest of us,
- 9:33Speaker 3: we would have went in the game. Everything about the
- 9:35Speaker 3: pros is about what inspires you, what you believe in.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Some people get more. It wasn't Tom Brady, the player.
- 9:45Speaker 1: It was the belief that other people had In tongue.
- 9:51Speaker 1: So I'm going to block longer.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I'm going to run harder. I'm going to get the
- 9:54Speaker 3: route open because I believe. That's why you put people
- 10:01Speaker 3: like Michael Jordan and Kobe and LeBron on teams and
- 10:06Speaker 3: the belief level goes up. And you're like, man, he
- 10:08Speaker 3: wasn't playing like that last year. They believe if they
- 10:12Speaker 3: do this. No matter where you put Caitlin Clark. We
- 10:18Speaker 3: get better. The girls run.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Because they know if they run out, she's going to
- 10:23Speaker 1: throw them the ball.
- 10:25Speaker 8: Right.
- 10:26Speaker 3: So I'm just telling you all this, Bad Producer, before
- 10:28Speaker 3: we go in further into the show. This is where
- 10:34Speaker 3: you were supposed to be.
- 10:36Speaker 1: What?
- 10:37Speaker 3: With Cooper Rush as the starting quarterback. This is not.
- 10:40Speaker 1: He's sitting here like this is like. I'm stunned. Isn't
- 10:44Speaker 1: his posture like stunned?
- 10:47Speaker 9: Well, I think a lot of, and this is a personal,
- 10:51Speaker 9: good morning first. Secondly, I think a lot of Falcons
- 10:55Speaker 9: fans are more than stunned. Their posture leans into insulted.
- 11:01Speaker 9: We got what are supposed to be perennial names at quarterback,
- 11:07Speaker 9: and none of them play. And then we get a
- 11:10Speaker 9: dude named Cooper somebody, and what's the other one's name?
- 11:15Speaker 3: Jack Strand. Jack Strand.
- 11:19Speaker 1: That sounds like a cartoon character. A vacation.
- 11:24Speaker 9: That sounds like a strain of weed. Hit some Jack Strand.
- 11:28Speaker 9: And I'm just saying– That's where the Falcon fans are. Like,
- 11:33Speaker 9: where do Jack Strand and Cooper Rush come from when
- 11:36Speaker 9: we got Crip Fingers and I Know My Body sitting
- 11:41Speaker 9: right there on the sidelines? We supposed to have somebody
- 11:46Speaker 9: better in this position because we got him.
- 11:50Speaker 1: We went out and made moves for him.
- 11:52Speaker 3: I thought one of these two guys were going to play.
- 11:58Speaker 3: I thought the kid from Miami that I brought in
- 12:00Speaker 3: on a one-year deal. was going to play at least
- 12:10Speaker 3: long enough for the guy who I think is the
- 12:12Speaker 3: starter to get back.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Did you really?
- 12:14Speaker 3: Yes.
- 12:15Speaker 9: That's why I signed him. You thought Mr. Glass and
- 12:18Speaker 9: I know my body.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I wasn't trying to get 17 games out of Tua.
- 12:22Speaker 3: You just wanted to. I was trying to get two
- 12:23Speaker 3: or three games to get to the other guy. And
- 12:26Speaker 3: he disappointed you. And then he disappeared.
- 12:29Speaker 1: And so now we're at. Cooper Rush.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Cooper Rush.
- 12:33Speaker 1: And they're not booing. Maybe they're all saying, Coop.
- 12:37Speaker 3: We'll be back with more of the Sports Jock Show
- 12:39Speaker 3: right after this.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Great move.
- 12:41Speaker 10: Don't go away.
- 12:43Speaker 1: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gambia is
- 12:45Speaker 1: coming up next. We're going to go.
- 12:47Speaker 11: When we get back. Returning military vets. They've served our
- 13:03Speaker 11: country at home and abroad. They've slept in tanks, foxholes,
- 13:07Speaker 11: and even out in the weather. They've had our backs.
- 13:11Speaker 1: We have theirs. The Sports Chalk Man of Honor, Mr.
- 13:13Speaker 11: Scott Holliday, CEO of Mattress Heroes USA, is giving back
- 13:17Speaker 11: to the vets by giving away a free mattress to

- 13:57Speaker 12: Talking about guns with others might not always feel comfortable,
- 14:00Speaker 12: but it could save a life. Here's a way to
- 14:02Speaker 12: start a conversation. Your family is going over to your
- 14:05Speaker 12: neighbor's home for dinner for the first time. How would
- 14:08Speaker 12: you ask if there are any unlocked guns in the home?
- 14:10Speaker 1: Hey.
- 14:11Speaker 13: Hey, we're so excited for tonight. Before we come over, though,
- 14:14Speaker 13: may I ask if there are any unlocked guns in
- 14:16Speaker 13: your home?
- 14:17Speaker 14: Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that
- 14:20Speaker 14: the kids can't access.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 14:23Speaker 12: Learn how to have the conversation at agree2agree. org. Brought to
- 14:26Speaker 12: you by the Ad Council.
- 14:28Speaker 15: Don't act like that. Don't wear that. Don't think that.
- 14:33Speaker 15: I've heard everything you tell yourself every time you felt different.
- 14:36Speaker 15: And I want you to know That you can be
- 14:39Speaker 15: vulnerable and powerful. That taking care of your mind is
- 14:44Speaker 15: taking care of everyone.
- 14:46Speaker 1: You love and who loves you.

- 14:55Speaker 15: to you by the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the
- 14:57Speaker 15: Ad Council.
- 14:59Speaker 11: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Ganty. The
- 15:04Speaker 11: Jock of the Day is sponsored by MattressHeroesUSA.com. The sleep
- 15:08Speaker 11: you deserve at a price you can afford.
- 15:11Speaker 12: Now, it's time to present the Jock of the Day
- 15:14Speaker 12: on the Sports Jock Show.
- 15:16Speaker 16: He's taken it to a completely different level this year.
- 15:18Speaker 11: Where we highlight an athlete that has taken their game
- 15:22Speaker 11: to the next level.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Sports Shop Show. I'm the Sports
- 15:49Speaker 3: Shop Wayne Gandy. It was a big football weekend as
- 15:53Speaker 3: it typically is. But shout out to our Atlanta Braves
- 15:58Speaker 3: winning yesterday and securing the NL East division. That's their
- 16:04Speaker 3: seventh time in nine years now. Can they do anything
- 16:09Speaker 3: with those San Diego Padres? We will see. as Major
- 16:13Speaker 3: League Baseball season and WNBA season wind down this week
- 16:20Speaker 3: when you look at the schedule. So you're looking at
- 16:24Speaker 3: two big leagues. It's starting to get to, as they say,
- 16:26Speaker 3: October for Major League Baseball and for the WNBA. So
- 16:31Speaker 3: last couple of games here for both. I think the
- 16:34Speaker 3: WNBA might have like two games. They played like 44
- 16:39Speaker 3: games in a season, and Major League Baseball ends this
- 16:43Speaker 3: week as well with the Braves securing their division. We
- 16:47Speaker 3: left talking about the Falcons, Big Kenny, Bad Producer, Comanche Craig,
- 16:52Speaker 3: and did I miss anything before I move on to
- 16:55Speaker 3: some of these other teams other than the fact that
- 16:59Speaker 3: if you told me Cooper Rush is going to start Thursday,
- 17:04Speaker 3: as I said, against the Green Bay Packers, who lost
- 17:10Speaker 3: yesterday in Lambeau on a short week, you're 0-3. No
- 17:19Speaker 3: knock on Cooper Rush, no knock on Jack Scranton, just
- 17:23Speaker 3: where you are. There is no team belief in a
- 17:27Speaker 3: third quarterback, as I was trying to describe. That's not
- 17:30Speaker 3: really a thing. You go to the huddle.
- 17:35Speaker 1: He in?
- 17:35Speaker 3: Oh man. Jack Strand don't really believe in Jack Strand
- 17:39Speaker 3: like that.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Jack Strand is in there like, man, what they putting
- 17:42Speaker 1: me in here for?
- 17:43Speaker 3: We in some trouble. Go ahead, Comanche. I saw that
- 17:45Speaker 3: church finger.
- 17:47Speaker 17: Just wanted to point out, with this game yesterday, RG3
- 17:51Speaker 17: tweeted out, when Cooper Rush and Jack Strand are stinking
- 17:55Speaker 17: it up in Atlanta, it makes zero sense that QBs
- 17:58Speaker 17: like Cam Newton, Jimmy Garoppolo, Ryan Tannehill, and myself Aren't
- 18:02Speaker 17: the veteran presence in the room to stabilize teams when
- 18:05Speaker 17: their QB goes down?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Who said that?
- 18:08Speaker 3: RG3.
- 18:10Speaker 9: I didn't even know RG3 even cared to QB anymore.
- 18:14Speaker 9: Thought he was somewhere jicking and a jiving. Cam Newton
- 18:17Speaker 9: wouldn't pass a drug test.
- 18:18Speaker 10: Hey!
- 18:19Speaker 1: Today. Hey! You don't know that, sir. Excuse me? You
- 18:23Speaker 1: don't know that, sir.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Oh, man. Come on now.
- 18:25Speaker 1: That's alleged.
- 18:26Speaker 3: No. These aren't allegations. I would use the word. Allegedly.
- 18:33Speaker 3: He wouldn't pass a drug test.
- 18:35Speaker 1: He might.
- 18:35Speaker 3: To make it back to this season.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Well, he might. If he goes to get one of
- 18:40Speaker 1: those kits from the gas station.
- 18:41Speaker 3: All they can do, use Kevin Stefanski after this game.
- 18:46Speaker 3: If he can't get Pennis back, see if Dylan Gabriel
- 18:49Speaker 3: you can trade for the Browns.
- 18:52Speaker 18: No.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Because it looks like that could be some kind of
- 18:56Speaker 3: an answer. Somebody that's had a little game time to
- 18:58Speaker 3: see if you can get something out of him. Other
- 19:01Speaker 3: than that, you're going to find yourself– With, well, bad producer.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you something. I thought I was
- 19:08Speaker 3: your boy, but sometimes we talk and you're still in
- 19:12Speaker 3: your feelings. I throw out possibilities that are possible.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Possible. Plausible.
- 19:18Speaker 3: So you can't call. You can't call. Well, who are
- 19:23Speaker 3: you going to call? He wants Deshaun Watson.
- 19:25Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Who are you going to call that another team is going.
- 19:29Speaker 1: To give up?
- 19:31Speaker 19: Right now, I'm staying with the play, as he said,
- 19:34Speaker 19: down the road. But what we got going on right now.
- 19:37Speaker 3: You didn't answer my question, and I'm tired of having
- 19:39Speaker 3: a show. I'm tired of asking questions to you for
- 19:43Speaker 3: 15 years, and you do something else. Who are you
- 19:45Speaker 3: going to call that you can actually maybe get a
- 19:47Speaker 3: team to listen to you to see?
- 19:50Speaker 11: To you?
- 19:52Speaker 1: I don't know who Matt could call right now. I
- 19:54Speaker 1: don't know what kind of relationship.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Well, when I give you somebody, why you tell me no?
- 20:01Speaker 3: You don't even have an answer to the question, but
- 20:03Speaker 3: you're going to tell me no. I'm giving you somebody
- 20:05Speaker 3: that another team might negotiate with you.
- 20:07Speaker 19: If we're going to go to Cleveland, I'm not going
- 20:10Speaker 19: to go to waste my eggs for Dylan Gabriel.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I'm going to try to go get Deshaun Watson or somebody.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I'm not going to.
- 20:17Speaker 3: I asked you somebody the other team will give you. Deshaun,
- 20:22Speaker 3: they starting Deshaun Watson. Why would they trade him?
- 20:25Speaker 1: They want to give him up. I mean, that's.
- 20:29Speaker 3: That's in your mind. Am I like in the... No,
- 20:32Speaker 3: it's not in my mind. Give me some of that.
- 20:34Speaker 1: It's not in my mind.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I be feeling... I'm asking you... You're like asking like...
- 20:39Speaker 3: You sound like asking the Hawks, asking the Knicks for
- 20:43Speaker 3: Jalen Brunson.
- 20:44Speaker 19: No.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I'm giving you possibilities.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Nobody's in the business at the quarterback position of trading
- 20:50Speaker 3: their starter.
- 20:51Speaker 1: That's a possibility.
- 20:52Speaker 3: They're not going to give you Shadur Sanders.
- 20:54Speaker 19: He's a possibility, but it's not a good possibility.
- 20:59Speaker 1: He's not no better than what we got.
- 21:02Speaker 3: How do you know?
- 21:03Speaker 1: I've seen him play.
- 21:06Speaker 19: Look, no red zones this year. We're the only team
- 21:09Speaker 19: that hadn't hit the red zone. Kevin Stefanski. We're the
- 21:13Speaker 19: only team that is turnovers. He says it's turnovers, Stefanski.
- 21:19Speaker 19: But he tells us that we're– We're supposed to be–
- 21:23Speaker 19: you telling me that we're not supposed to have the
- 21:26Speaker 19: third-team quarterback.
- 21:27Speaker 1: We know what you expect.
- 21:29Speaker 19: But he's telling the fan base, oh, no, if the
- 21:32Speaker 19: third team come in, it's the turnovers.
- 21:34Speaker 1: That's the problem.
- 21:35Speaker 19: It's not that the Cooper Rush or Stranders can't do
- 21:38Speaker 19: the job.
- 21:39Speaker 1: It's the turnovers.
- 21:41Speaker 3: He's telling you the same thing, Bad Producer. I'm deciphering
- 21:46Speaker 3: the code. He's telling you the third-screen quarterback is usually
- 21:51Speaker 3: the third-screen quarterback because he turns the ball over.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Well, fumbles, interceptions.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Yes, he threw a fumble, and he had a fumble,
- 22:04Speaker 3: and he threw an interception. Both of them did. That's
- 22:08Speaker 3: why they're the third and fourth quarterback.
- 22:11Speaker 19: Well, we got to get some better. I mean, I
- 22:13Speaker 19: don't know.
- 22:15Speaker 1: It doesn't make sense. You telling us the fan base.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Maybe get a hypnotist and get Michael Penix on the field.
- 22:24Speaker 3: I'm telling you that I really didn't want to start
- 22:26Speaker 3: this show. Greg just happened to mention something when we
- 22:28Speaker 3: came in here about what his friend said. I really
- 22:31Speaker 3: don't see why we're talking about the Falcons this long
- 22:34Speaker 3: because I understand why the Falcons are 0-2.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 22:38Speaker 3: I don't understand why the L.A. Chargers are 0-2.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I don't.
- 22:44Speaker 3: That's a mystery. That's a mystery. That's something to talk about.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I actually see why the Falcons are 0-2. When I
- 22:56Speaker 3: can clearly see it, I can't be mad.
- 23:00Speaker 1: No, no. If they were 0-2 at Michael Pennix, I
- 23:03Speaker 1: could be mad. Maybe, maybe a little bit.
- 23:05Speaker 3: If they was 0-2 at Tua, I could be, oh, man,
- 23:07Speaker 3: we need to do this.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Man, we got low. I'm not expecting anything. We got
- 23:10Speaker 1: low pounds. Does it matter? By your division rivals. Okay.
- 23:16Speaker 19: You don't get beat like that by– How do you know?
- 23:20Speaker 1: Within your division. Yeah, I mean, you didn't.
- 23:22Speaker 17: Even– Isn't there a reasonable expectation when you're with the
- 23:28Speaker 17: third quarterback?
- 23:29Speaker 1: No, no.
- 23:30Speaker 19: So you were expecting Cooper Rush to lead the Falcons
- 23:33Speaker 19: to a win. Matt Ryan and his head coach, Kevin,
- 23:37Speaker 19: is saying, oh, we're fine. We just had a couple
- 23:40Speaker 19: of turnovers. with the guys we got started. What would
- 23:43Speaker 19: you think they should have went up to the podium
- 23:45Speaker 19: and said? We in trouble. Same thing. When have you
- 23:51Speaker 19: heard that? For Matt and Kevin to be fired.
- 23:54Speaker 1: When have you heard that? It's a no-win situation with
- 23:56Speaker 1: the draw. I mean, it's sickening. It's sickening. It's sickening
- 24:01Speaker 1: that we.
- 24:01Speaker 3: We're going to maybe turn your mic off until you
- 24:03Speaker 3: get out your emotion or... Something like that because you're
- 24:08Speaker 3: just all emotion. We'll be back. We're going to break
- 24:11Speaker 3: more of the Sports Jock Show. We'll jump to some
- 24:13Speaker 3: other teams before this man keeps me in the vortex
- 24:16Speaker 3: too long about a team that should be 0-2.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 24:34Speaker 20: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 24:37Speaker 20: coming up next.
- 24:39Speaker 1: As veterans, we're no strangers to helping others.
- 24:42Speaker 8: That's what we were taught, service before self.
- 24:45Speaker 21: But we do have one question for the veterans listening.
- 24:48Speaker 1: When was the last time you reached out for help?
- 24:52Speaker 12: If you or someone you know needs resources, whether it's
- 24:55Speaker 12: for stress, finances, employment, or mental.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Health, don't wait. Reach out.
- 25:00Speaker 22: Find more information at va.gov slash reach.
- 25:03Speaker 16: That's va.gov slash reach.

- 26:12Speaker 18: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive while
- 26:15Speaker 18: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for
- 26:19Speaker 18: us kids and our cell phones? Distracted driving was the
- 26:23Speaker 18: cause of more than 3,000 deaths in 2022.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Come on, we're smarter than this.
- 26:29Speaker 18: Let's put down the phones and focus on the roads.
- 26:31Speaker 18: Drive safe, everybody.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Don't drive distracted.
- 26:35Speaker 24: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 26:38Speaker 24: Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the Ad Council.
- 26:44Speaker 3: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 26:50Speaker 1: In the red zone.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports
- 27:12Speaker 3: Shock Wayne Gandy. During the debate, Big Kenny did say
- 27:15Speaker 3: that Uncle Charlie brought up the name of maybe Russell Wilson.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Russell Wilson, yes he did. As something that might be
- 27:24Speaker 3: able to be used. The new commentator, he said. Poor
- 27:26Speaker 3: the new commentator. Not a bad idea, Uncle Charlie. Thank
- 27:32Speaker 3: you for that. That's what I was looking for, to
- 27:34Speaker 3: help me. I'm not researching, I'm just thinking. Who could
- 27:38Speaker 3: they plausibly....
- 27:40Speaker 1: Intriguing.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Similar to how the coach brought back last year, Phillip Rivers.
- 27:48Speaker 8: Yes.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Something in that. Somebody they can go and get that's
- 27:53Speaker 3: not that far removed from football that might be able
- 27:56Speaker 3: to be serviceable out there in this situation based on
- 28:02Speaker 3: the availability of Michael Penix. Or even if Michael Penix
- 28:07Speaker 3: comes back and maybe get hurt Then you already know
- 28:12Speaker 3: Michael Penich can't do it. Cooper Rush can't do it.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Don't really want to play Jack Scranton and break his
- 28:18Speaker 3: confidence too soon.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Really don't.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Because maybe you do have something in him. But if
- 28:26Speaker 3: you break his confidence. He'll end up gun shy. He'll
- 28:30Speaker 3: end up like the rest of them. Never really reaching.
- 28:32Speaker 3: So we will see. With this team. We talked about
- 28:35Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin going back to Ole Miss. Did any of
- 28:37Speaker 3: you watch the game?
- 28:38Speaker 1: I did.
- 28:39Speaker 3: In Oxford, LSU.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I watched the game.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Was down early and then tried to come back in
- 28:44Speaker 3: the game.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I did. Came back.
- 28:48Speaker 3: And almost pulled off the victory in Oxford after so much.
- 28:53Speaker 3: I'm quite sure it broke some kind of ratings. in
- 28:56Speaker 3: that game with Lane Kiffin?
- 28:59Speaker 9: I know that in a group chat that I'm part of,
- 29:02Speaker 9: they said that hotel rooms in Oxford were going for
- 29:06Speaker 9: upwards of $ 4, 500 for the game, which is, I don't
- 29:12Speaker 9: know if you've ever been to Oxford, Mississippi, but the
- 29:16Speaker 9: only thing that could have driven prices that high.
- 29:19Speaker 3: That's about 1,000%. Yeah, like 20, yeah, yeah. And as
- 29:22Speaker 3: if you would have booked it when the schedules came out.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. If you booked the night of. Oh, as
- 29:30Speaker 1: soon as he took the LSU job.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Once they put out
- 29:35Speaker 3: the schedule, then that room disappeared.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 29:40Speaker 3: So you probably had to drive over or sleep in
- 29:43Speaker 3: your camper to see this game. But an exciting game.
- 29:47Speaker 3: A good football game. Trinidad Chambliss, the quarterback of Ole Miss,
- 29:50Speaker 3: playing at a level, the same level that he was
- 29:53Speaker 3: playing for Lane Kiffin last year. That's why LSU was seventh.
- 29:59Speaker 3: And Ole Miss was eight going into this game. So
- 30:03Speaker 3: it wasn't an upset. Neither one of them would have
- 30:07Speaker 3: been an upset. Seven played eight, so there is no upset.
- 30:11Speaker 3: There's just somebody lost, and I think you saw that
- 30:13Speaker 3: by the poll voters. I think now Ole Miss is
- 30:17Speaker 3: at four, and they moved LSU to ten. But seven
- 30:22Speaker 3: beat eight. That's what happened in a tight game. So
- 30:26Speaker 3: that happened for big college football. Anything else? Big Kenny
- 30:31Speaker 3: says Southern Miss. I know Auburn lost their game to Florida.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Southern Miss lost to?
- 30:38Speaker 1: UConn.
- 30:40Speaker 3: UConn.
- 30:40Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Jim Mora.
- 30:42Speaker 9: I didn't even know. Jim Mora, the coach at UConn.
- 30:44Speaker 9: I didn't even know Southern Miss played UConn. And I
- 30:47Speaker 9: went to Southern Miss. And we never played UConn when
- 30:50Speaker 9: I was there in nothing. We never played them in basketball,
- 30:54Speaker 9: in track.
- 30:55Speaker 3: You out of your emotions? I'm trying to check.
- 31:00Speaker 1: No, I'm trying to get in.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Are you out of your emotions?
- 31:05Speaker 9: I haven't gotten the signal to turn the mic back on. Listen,
- 31:08Speaker 9: if you say, are you out of your emotions, and
- 31:10Speaker 9: they say anything else.
- 31:11Speaker 3: It's a yes or no question.
- 31:11Speaker 1: It wasn't a trick question.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Anything outside of yes or no is no. I just
- 31:16Speaker 3: said it was a yes or no question, so I
- 31:17Speaker 3: guess you don't want your mic on. I'm good. It's
- 31:21Speaker 3: a yes or no question. Okay, you can light him
- 31:29Speaker 3: back up since he says he's out of his emotions now.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Just one thing. Jim Moore Jr. is the coach at
- 31:37Speaker 1: Colorado State now. Colorado State, okay. Was he at UConn
- 31:41Speaker 1: or Rhode Island? He was at UConn last year. Okay,
- 31:44Speaker 1: that's what I thought. You know who wasn't at UConn?
- 31:47Speaker 3: My former head coach. You know who wasn't at UConn
- 31:49Speaker 3: last year? Southern Miss? Where did that come from? Where
- 31:52Speaker 3: did they start playing UConn? I'm asking, is this the
- 31:56Speaker 3: new NIL era?
- 31:58Speaker 9: Is when we'll just reach out and anybody who want
- 32:01Speaker 9: to give us a check, anybody who want to exchange
- 32:03Speaker 9: some money and take a little trip, Let's just do
- 32:07Speaker 9: it with this kind of like a scouting trip. If
- 32:09Speaker 9: we come down there and you got a good running back,
- 32:12Speaker 9: then next year he'll play for UConn or vice versa. So,
- 32:16Speaker 9: I mean, when did all this happen? I guess this
- 32:19Speaker 9: is the realignment of conferences.
- 32:22Speaker 3: This is what's happening with the landscape of college football,
- 32:27Speaker 3: especially now that you have a couple of conferences like
- 32:31Speaker 3: Remember this season, the SEC mandated that you play nine
- 32:35Speaker 3: of your 12 games, have to be in conference. Instead
- 32:38Speaker 3: of last year, it was eight. So now that's another.
- 32:42Speaker 3: So you have to have nine SEC opponents. So you
- 32:45Speaker 3: don't have that. That might be how it was generated.
- 32:48Speaker 3: So Southern Miss might not be able to get a
- 32:51Speaker 3: game from last year where they played Arkansas or something
- 32:56Speaker 3: like that because now– That's where they move, and I
- 33:00Speaker 3: think the Big Ten moved to that as well. So
- 33:02Speaker 3: now you took them out. You only have three games
- 33:06Speaker 3: that you get to choose as far as who you
- 33:09Speaker 3: want to welcome in. The Georgia Bulldogs ran over Arkansas.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I hurt my house. I hurt the house. Real bad
- 33:18Speaker 1: the other day as well.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Oregon beat Portland State 84-0, and I was watching that,
- 33:24Speaker 3: and you know what came up in my mind? I wonder,
- 33:28Speaker 3: you know, last week we were talking about Jemele Hill,
- 33:31Speaker 3: and she said Miami beat up on FAMU.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Because of— It was a disparity.
- 33:36Speaker 9: A disparity of color. A disparity in the— Has she
- 33:39Speaker 9: been to Portland State? In the financing and the funding.
- 33:44Speaker 9: It made it seem like it was— Racist.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Yeah, racial.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Well, what is Oregon beating up on Portland State? Stimulating
- 33:54Speaker 3: the state economy.
- 33:56Speaker 20: Oh.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what she would say.
- 34:02Speaker 3: So I'm just saying when I saw it, I'm like, well, quickly,
- 34:06Speaker 3: that dissolves what you're talking about.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Yeah, from that angle, it really does.
- 34:11Speaker 3: It has to do with big-time programs getting engaged with
- 34:15Speaker 3: smaller-time programs, regardless of what conference you're in.
- 34:20Speaker 8: Right.
- 34:21Speaker 3: And the beatdown happens.
- 34:22Speaker 1: And the beatdown. But we limp to the bank on Monday.
- 34:28Speaker 3: And everybody feel a little bit because we get some
- 34:30Speaker 3: good painkillers come Monday afternoon because after we cast the check,
- 34:33Speaker 3: we can get the good stuff.
- 34:35Speaker 1: We get prescription meds.
- 34:38Speaker 3: So everybody kind of win a little bit. But there
- 34:44Speaker 3: is no man trying to hold you down. There is
- 34:50Speaker 3: no proverbial man. No, there's your checkbook needs, some zeros,
- 34:55Speaker 3: and these schools are offering big zeros.
- 34:59Speaker 9: And we've never seen those kinds of zeros before as
- 35:03Speaker 9: a program.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Not at one time.
- 35:05Speaker 9: Not at one time. Yeah, we've seen them in the
- 35:08Speaker 9: last 14 years. We saw a $ 13 million profit or
- 35:14Speaker 9: a $ 13 million.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Revenue generation, but these folks gave us $ 13 million today.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Guaranteed. Guaranteed.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Win or lose.
- 35:25Speaker 9: We lost really bad, but we still got $ 13 million.
- 35:31Speaker 3: The Jets coming close yesterday, 20-17. They were up 17-7.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Big Kenny, your J-E-T-S.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Jets, Jets, Jets.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Are one and one and showing promise. Throwing body bows
- 35:48Speaker 3: to the Green Bay Packers.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Man, man.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Packers winning 20-17. So my mistake earlier when I said
- 35:56Speaker 3: the Green Bay loss. You know why I said that?
- 35:59Speaker 3: Because I actually thought you were going to pull this off.
- 36:04Speaker 3: And I was like, the Jets are.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Going to pull this off.
- 36:07Speaker 3: You and everybody else thought it was going to happen.
- 36:10Speaker 3: And see now, that is the, for me, that is
- 36:14Speaker 3: the gift and the curse is that we showed a
- 36:19Speaker 3: lot of moxie, if you will, with fighting the Green
- 36:23Speaker 3: Bay Packers, but we lost the lead. Like, if you're
- 36:26Speaker 3: going to put up a fight, learn how to close
- 36:28Speaker 3: it out. Just knock them out and let's move on.
- 36:30Speaker 3: But that, I don't want to have a season of
- 36:34Speaker 3: we were this close. We almost won. We see that
- 36:38Speaker 3: a lot here locally. And one thing I will give
- 36:42Speaker 3: Aaron Glenn and the Jets is that I like their
- 36:49Speaker 3: approach to over the last two years where they let
- 36:54Speaker 3: the sauce gardeners go. They let the big D tackle go.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Sometimes you do have to just kind of reset financially
- 37:04Speaker 3: because some positions can start absorbing so much money. You
- 37:09Speaker 3: can't make any moves to kind of fix things and
- 37:14Speaker 3: everything starts becoming, I got to hope that the draft
- 37:18Speaker 3: pick quickly becomes dominant.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Because I'm letting those and everybody laugh, but they do
- 37:25Speaker 3: look like a different Jet 10. That doesn't knock the
- 37:28Speaker 3: greatness of the sauce gardeners and those guys. I don't
- 37:32Speaker 3: know why people always state that doesn't minimize. It's just
- 37:36Speaker 3: like Michael Parsons being in Green Bay. That doesn't minimize
- 37:39Speaker 3: that Michael Parsons give me two or three more years
- 37:42Speaker 3: of what he's been doing. I sent him to Canton.
- 37:45Speaker 3: It just means that if I tie this up and
- 37:48Speaker 3: I'm all right, I got three holes I need to fill.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I got three.
- 37:51Speaker 9: And Michael Parsons cost two of them.
- 37:54Speaker 1: How do I fill those holes? It's like running a city,
- 37:58Speaker 1: being a mayor.
- 37:59Speaker 9: Look, we got potholes, we got crime, and we got
- 38:02Speaker 9: homeless problems, and we got these many dollars.
- 38:06Speaker 1: It's a math issue.
- 38:07Speaker 3: But we'll come back after the break, see how the
- 38:09Speaker 3: Saints pulled off their victory against the Ravens in Baltimore.
- 38:14Speaker 3: A little more could have been digested if it was
- 38:17Speaker 3: in New Orleans. But to go up to Baltimore and
- 38:21Speaker 3: do it is a little shocking.
- 38:23Speaker 1: They had Papa Legba working with them.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Remember the Giants tonight, 1-0, headed to L.A. who are 0-1,
- 38:31Speaker 3: so they're going to be desperate and will Aaron Donald
- 38:35Speaker 3: play tonight. We do know Miles Garrett is out and
- 38:39Speaker 3: will be out for about four weeks. But Aaron Donald
- 38:44Speaker 3: might be the spark they need tonight. We'll be back.
- 38:46Speaker 3: More of the Sports Talk show right after this.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 38:58Speaker 20: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 39:01Speaker 20: coming up next.
- 39:03Speaker 8: Don't act like that. Don't wear that. Don't think that.
- 39:08Speaker 15: I've heard everything you tell yourself every time you felt different.
- 39:12Speaker 15: And I want you to know that you can be
- 39:14Speaker 15: vulnerable and powerful. That taking care of your mind is

- 41:47Speaker 4: It's Wayne.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Gandy.
- 41:55Speaker 1: It's Wayne Gandy.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Oh, log on so you can see the sports J-O-C,
- 42:02Speaker 2: even Big K.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports
- 42:07Speaker 1: Talk Wayne Candy. Good morning to you out there in
- 42:10Speaker 1: listening land.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Comanche Greg, the bad producer. Big Kenny, the funny man
- 42:14Speaker 3: himself in the building. Tom Brady watching and broadcasting yesterday
- 42:21Speaker 3: with the Jaden Daniels dislocated elbow in the game against
- 42:27Speaker 3: the Cowboys. You could see. And I want to believe
- 42:32Speaker 3: Jaden Daniels dislocated his right elbow last year. So this
- 42:36Speaker 3: year is his left. How long that will have him
- 42:41Speaker 3: out because this is left and this is non throwing.
- 42:45Speaker 3: I guess we have to wait and see. But, you know,
- 42:47Speaker 3: in a surprise of seeing it, Tom Brady used what
- 42:53Speaker 3: we say is a curse word that people caught on air.
- 42:58Speaker 3: That becomes big news now, which is always shocking that
- 43:01Speaker 3: in this industry that. There's television that is completely centered
- 43:13Speaker 3: around debauchery, but sports is still held to how you're
- 43:21Speaker 3: regulated and how you get to speak. A lot of
- 43:24Speaker 3: times that comes up with Turnadad Chambliss at the end
- 43:27Speaker 3: of his interview with Holly Rowe at the Ole Miss
- 43:31Speaker 3: beat LSU saying, hottie, effing Toddy, a lot of people
- 43:36Speaker 3: wanted to weigh in of his language. Well, that's what
- 43:41Speaker 3: you get. I thought y'all wanted a real-time personality. I
- 43:50Speaker 3: just beat Lane Kiffin three seconds. I haven't even got
- 43:55Speaker 3: to celebrate with my team. You want to stick a
- 43:57Speaker 3: mic in my face, but then you want me to
- 44:00Speaker 3: go completely into politician mode.
- 44:04Speaker 17: That we want you to be composed and family friendly and.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Follow protocol. Use clean language because there are children watching.
- 44:15Speaker 3: And you think that's what I'm thinking about?
- 44:18Speaker 1: Yes, you should be.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Because of your sensibility. What you need. But then I
- 44:26Speaker 3: thought you wanted rare inside footage, right? Isn't that what
- 44:29Speaker 3: you wanted? Well, the rare inside footage is supposed to
- 44:34Speaker 3: be cleaned for the children. Then y'all should have put
- 44:38Speaker 3: 16 plus or whatever the little rating on here because
- 44:41Speaker 3: this is not that world. I've been trying to preach
- 44:46Speaker 3: to you that is not the speech Coach gives. That's
- 44:52Speaker 3: the speech that Coach gives when the camera's in focus.
- 44:56Speaker 3: The room. I'm saying the established reality with the Trinidad
- 45:04Speaker 3: Chandler's comment was that the camera was in the room.
- 45:09Speaker 9: The camera was in the room. The mic was hot.
- 45:12Speaker 9: He was well aware of that. And for those, you
- 45:16Speaker 9: just said that is not the environment we're in. Having
- 45:21Speaker 9: played the sport before, at the college level, had to
- 45:24Speaker 9: play sport at the big-time college level and professionally for decades.
- 45:31Speaker 9: You've witnessed many an athlete savor many a moment in
- 45:36Speaker 9: front of the camera while the mic was hot and
- 45:38Speaker 9: not do that.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Why should we excuse it now?
- 45:43Speaker 3: Because you asked for the raw footage. You want it
- 45:45Speaker 3: right now. You're on the field interviewing me. You're not
- 45:49Speaker 3: waiting to the locker rooms. Sometimes that's how you're going
- 45:53Speaker 3: to get. You're going to get really how I would
- 45:55Speaker 3: say something. Everybody is not the politician. There is no
- 46:02Speaker 3: one sample size in this situation but in your mind.
- 46:06Speaker 3: That's why you can have a coach come over and
- 46:09Speaker 3: some of them look like they enjoy talking to you
- 46:12Speaker 3: and some of them look like you forced them to
- 46:15Speaker 3: come over with some kind of fine or something the
- 46:18Speaker 3: school said.
- 46:19Speaker 13: Right.
- 46:20Speaker 3: The old Greg Popovich. where they stare at you and
- 46:24Speaker 3: make you feel uncomfortable and give you one-word answers.
- 46:30Speaker 26: No.
- 46:31Speaker 8: Yes.
- 46:32Speaker 3: No. And move on.
- 46:34Speaker 4: Yes.
- 46:34Speaker 3: And it's like that was a waste of time.
- 46:37Speaker 19: But you know the thing about the craziness is they
- 46:42Speaker 19: make an announcement for all media when you're at the game,
- 46:45Speaker 19: and Greg can attest to this too. No one interviews.
- 46:48Speaker 19: No cameras on the field.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Nothing, nothing. No interviews.
- 46:51Speaker 19: But that one, because ESPN, whoever's covering the game, they
- 46:55Speaker 19: have all the rights to be able to get that
- 46:57Speaker 19: right after the moment game with either the coach or
- 47:00Speaker 19: whoever the star player. But there's, you know, you as
- 47:02Speaker 19: the other media outlets, you have to wait till they
- 47:05Speaker 19: go to the podium. And that's where, like you said,
- 47:10Speaker 19: you don't get the– you don't get that raw emotion
- 47:12Speaker 19: right at the victory because once you go to the
- 47:14Speaker 19: podium– You know, they decompress. The PR people come to
- 47:19Speaker 19: them and give them the stat sheet, let them know
- 47:21Speaker 19: what's the highlights, what you didn't do, this is what
- 47:23Speaker 19: they make. That quickly will brief them on, this is
- 47:26Speaker 19: what you're going to get hit with, so you better
- 47:27Speaker 19: be prepared. So you have a sensibility to gather yourself.
- 47:33Speaker 19: But when you just hit me at the moment, and
- 47:35Speaker 19: you're in my face, I just won a big game,
- 47:37Speaker 19: and you're.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Going to get it.
- 47:39Speaker 9: Have you noticed an uptick in this type of activity
- 47:42Speaker 9: since Sharon Moore did it when he filled in?
- 47:47Speaker 1: At the Michigan game, I think, did they beat Ohio? Yeah,
- 47:50Speaker 1: they beat– yeah.
- 47:51Speaker 19: Well, it's been going– even back– you go to Kirk
- 47:53Speaker 19: Cousins when he was in the game.
- 47:55Speaker 1: This is what you're looking for. This is what you want.
- 47:57Speaker 19: I mean, the athlete. I mean, it trickles down. I
- 48:00Speaker 19: mean– I mean, it's happened a few times before then.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:04Speaker 17: Like Shaq dropped an F-bomb, and they were interviewing him
- 48:09Speaker 17: going into the locker room at halftime.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Right.
- 48:12Speaker 17: So– Even with those moments, yeah, those networks are trying
- 48:16Speaker 17: to get that raw insight.
- 48:20Speaker 1: And these are the kind of things that can happen.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Whoever gets fined or if they can deal with it,
- 48:25Speaker 1: that's what it is. Whoever can pay the fine.
- 48:29Speaker 3: So I think that you have to accept that this
- 48:34Speaker 3: can be two of the ten interviews, especially after such
- 48:38Speaker 3: a huge win. If you had left it up to
- 48:41Speaker 3: Trinidad Chambliss, he doesn't even want to do the interview.
- 48:44Speaker 1: He would have just came in hollering, Heidi F.
- 48:47Speaker 3: No, he would have started off with an F. Lane Kiffin.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Oh, yes.
- 48:52Speaker 3: He would have started a chant on the field. Yes,
- 48:55Speaker 3: over there with the band. How the players lead the band.
- 48:58Speaker 3: What are they mascot called now? It's not Johnny Ray.
- 49:01Speaker 1: It's the Sharks, isn't it?
- 49:02Speaker 3: Oh, it's not the Reb? No, I thought it was
- 49:04Speaker 3: Colonel Reb. I thought they went back to Colonel Reb. No,
- 49:06Speaker 3: Greg woke people, got rid of them. Oh, man, I
- 49:09Speaker 3: like Colonel Reb. We'll be back.
- 49:11Speaker 1: They're the Sharks. Ole Miss can't be right with Colonel Reb.
- 49:15Speaker 1: It wasn't Colonel Reb, it's Johnny Reb. But he's with Colonel,
- 49:19Speaker 1: wasn't he? Yeah, Tony the Land Shark. That's the name.
- 49:22Speaker 3: I thought they had a bear. I told you it
- 49:25Speaker 3: was a shark. Yeah, it is if you look.
- 49:28Speaker 18: Great.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Did they not have a bear? He's a land shark, though.
- 49:30Speaker 3: I don't even know what that is.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Well, that's– They did. Okay.
- 49:33Speaker 13: Okay.
- 49:35Speaker 3: How can you be a land shark?
- 49:37Speaker 9: The way that the sharks on land be land sharks.
- 49:40Speaker 9: You're getting too deep into it.
- 49:41Speaker 1: They had a bear and a shark. You said you
- 49:43Speaker 1: didn't want Johnny Reb. And I got rid of Johnny Reb.
- 49:46Speaker 1: Now you got more questions.
- 49:48Speaker 3: They got a black bear.
- 49:48Speaker 1: They had a black bear too, Kenny. They had a
- 49:50Speaker 1: black bear named Rebel.
- 49:51Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 49:52Speaker 1: A black bear.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Named Rebel.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Named Rebel. Can't do it. Got to be a land shark.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Are there some bears in Mississippi too? Got to be
- 49:59Speaker 1: a land shark. It's amazing how the Mississippi fans. There's
- 50:01Speaker 1: some bears in Mississippi?
- 50:02Speaker 26: Yeah.
- 50:03Speaker 1: There might be.
- 50:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 50:04Speaker 27: Yeah.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Land sharks and bears in Mississippi. I don't know about
- 50:08Speaker 3: the land sharks. It's not an actual shark. It's not
- 50:11Speaker 3: an actual shark.
- 50:12Speaker 1: We'll be back.
- 50:13Speaker 3: More of the Sports Jock Show right after this. Don't
- 50:23Speaker 3: go away.
- 50:29Speaker 20: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 50:32Speaker 20: coming up next.
- 50:33Speaker 22: Some people won't give you the real talk on drugs,
- 50:36Speaker 22: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 50:40Speaker 22: It's a powerful opioid often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 50:43Speaker 22: with illicit drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 50:46Speaker 22: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about the
- 50:51Speaker 22: size of a few grains of sand, could potentially be lethal.
- 50:54Speaker 22: This isn't an ad to scare you, but it is
- 50:56Speaker 22: an ad to make you think twice. Get the facts.
- 50:59Speaker 22: Go to realdealonfentanyl.com. This message is brought to you by

- 51:05Speaker 22: you to smoking, which led to a pack a day.

- 51:12Speaker 22: a life with them, which led to wanting to live longer,
- 51:16Speaker 22: which led to quitting. Then you heard you may be
- 51:19Speaker 22: at risk for lung cancer, which led you to getting

- 51:37Speaker 1: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 51:42Speaker 3: Center Court.
- 51:44Speaker 1: On sports, news, gossip, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports
- 52:12Speaker 3: Talk Wing Candy. The Bengals beat the Texans yesterday, 28-6.
- 52:19Speaker 3: Bengals went to Houston. C.J. Stroud just not hitting like
- 52:26Speaker 3: the C.J. Stroud from like two years ago. Still seems
- 52:30Speaker 3: to be in kind of like a sophomore slump. Teams
- 52:35Speaker 3: have really honed in on how to stop him. Now,
- 52:39Speaker 3: it could be he's had his big-time receivers in and
- 52:43Speaker 3: out with injuries. But offensively, the Texans' defense still humming,
- 52:47Speaker 3: but the offense, to me, it's been about two years
- 52:52Speaker 3: now since C.J. Stroud was as dominant as he was
- 52:56Speaker 3: that one year where it looks like he was really
- 53:00Speaker 3: headed into that Patrick Mahomes type of frame. And which
- 53:07Speaker 3: year is this for C.J.
- 53:08Speaker 8: Stroud?
- 53:09Speaker 1: I think this is his fourth.
- 53:10Speaker 13: Okay.
- 53:11Speaker 1: His fourth year.
- 53:12Speaker 9: And sometimes I think maybe in my opinion, we are
- 53:16Speaker 9: of course, because of the position more critical, but in
- 53:22Speaker 9: a league that the average career is five years.
- 53:27Speaker 1: This man is on his fourth.
- 53:30Speaker 9: And we're saying that he's not as proficient as he
- 53:34Speaker 9: ought to be, or he should be, or he has been. And,
- 53:39Speaker 9: I think that right there is the whole metric of
- 53:42Speaker 9: the NFL, how elite you have to be, is that
- 53:46Speaker 9: even as you get later in your career as a quarterback,
- 53:50Speaker 9: they still expect greater output from you, where running back
- 53:54Speaker 9: in his fourth year, he might be the backup guy
- 53:58Speaker 9: by now.
- 53:59Speaker 3: Well, at the quarterback or any position like that, running
- 54:02Speaker 3: backs decline as age. Quarterbacks are supposed to consistently kind
- 54:07Speaker 3: of get better with age like other positions. So it's
- 54:12Speaker 3: not a knock that C.J. Stroud is still going to
- 54:15Speaker 3: get a huge contract because the rest of the– there's
- 54:19Speaker 3: teams like the Falcons– that need a quarterback, and he's
- 54:23Speaker 3: very capable. It's just after he had that magical rookie year,
- 54:27Speaker 3: you expect a little sophomore slump, but then he still
- 54:30Speaker 3: stayed in it. And you're just looking for him. It
- 54:34Speaker 3: was looking like he was going to be able to
- 54:35Speaker 3: be one of those guys that could do it by himself.
- 54:39Speaker 3: And now it's looking like house for whatever. And this
- 54:43Speaker 3: is the thing with sports anyway, when you play as
- 54:45Speaker 3: a rookie player, In any sports, you set a foundation
- 54:49Speaker 3: of a level, I think I can at least expect that.
- 54:53Speaker 3: And then people think you're gonna build on it. And
- 54:56Speaker 3: sometimes that success, you don't know where a player's gonna
- 55:00Speaker 3: go after that as far as the success in the film.
- 55:04Speaker 3: And now I gotta take you serious. Because a lot
- 55:07Speaker 3: of times I give you a pass as a rookie
- 55:09Speaker 3: that he just kind of laying above his head. Then
- 55:13Speaker 3: I got an off season to see you on film.
- 55:16Speaker 3: And now I take that away from you and see
- 55:19Speaker 3: what you can do. Compare that film to your film
- 55:22Speaker 3: at college. I mean, that's how deep these guys go
- 55:25Speaker 3: on that level. They look at your– he didn't have
- 55:28Speaker 3: that when he was playing at college. They realized that, oh,
- 55:31Speaker 3: this is something new we got to look for. You
- 55:33Speaker 3: take Drake May from the Patriots, and he's going through
- 55:39Speaker 3: that right now. He's through the first two games like–
- 55:42Speaker 3: Last year you kind of caught us off. Now we adjusted.
- 55:44Speaker 3: We spent five months, four hours a day for five
- 55:48Speaker 3: months figuring out. We went and looked through all the
- 55:51Speaker 3: games and what worked against you and we came up
- 55:54Speaker 3: with a compilation of plays to actually stop you because
- 56:00Speaker 3: we have to take you serious. It's like when you
- 56:03Speaker 3: put the backup quarterback in and he catches people off
- 56:06Speaker 3: guard for a couple of weeks and then they make
- 56:09Speaker 3: the adjustment. So, I think CJ Shroud definitely can get
- 56:13Speaker 3: back where he wants to be. It's just he hasn't
- 56:16Speaker 3: made the adjustment to the adjustment.
- 56:21Speaker 8: Right.
- 56:21Speaker 3: And that's the thing with him. It's not a talent
- 56:23Speaker 3: thing or a focus thing.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Right. He hadn't.
- 56:28Speaker 9: Adjusted his, the way he comes at the situation instead
- 56:33Speaker 9: of trying to he still wants to do the same trick.
- 56:36Speaker 3: But they know what to look for. They know what
- 56:38Speaker 3: to look for and which routes to make him throw. Right.
- 56:41Speaker 3: And that kind of thing. Tampa Bay losing to Deshaun
- 56:45Speaker 3: Watson yesterday, who, you know, finally put a game. As
- 56:48Speaker 3: they say, every dog has his day. Deshaun Watson putting
- 56:54Speaker 3: a game together. And I think he was just fine.
- 56:57Speaker 3: People criticized him. But last week when he was mentioning, like,
- 57:03Speaker 3: it seems like people expect him to throw 400 yards
- 57:07Speaker 3: a game, I think he was trying to get y'all
- 57:09Speaker 3: to understand y'all need to lower your expectations. Because people
- 57:17Speaker 3: do put the money– they let money in the fact
- 57:22Speaker 3: that Deshaun was able to get this kind of contract
- 57:25Speaker 3: to push him to– I'm looking for Deshaun Watson to win.
- 57:32Speaker 3: To me, that's what he was at Houston. He was
- 57:34Speaker 3: just a winner that if you could get him in
- 57:37Speaker 3: the last four or five minutes, that his ability to
- 57:40Speaker 3: just move around. He was a Jalen Hurts when he
- 57:44Speaker 3: was a Texan. That's about it. But I don't expect
- 57:46Speaker 3: Jalen Hurts to throw for 400 yards a game. I
- 57:48Speaker 3: don't expect Jalen Hurts to throw for 250.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 57:54Speaker 3: I'm looking for Jalen Hurts to go for 19, for
- 57:57Speaker 3: about 26, about 230, run a touchdown, throw a touchdown.
- 58:03Speaker 3: To me, those are Jalen Hurts numbers. That's a good one.
- 58:06Speaker 19: I mean, that's numbers that used to really football if
- 58:09Speaker 19: you got a balanced offense. Like you said, 30 pass,
- 58:12Speaker 19: 30 run plays. So that's how the football is a
- 58:16Speaker 19: balanced offense anyway.
- 58:17Speaker 3: Right, I'm saying they, to me, I think what Deshaun
- 58:20Speaker 3: is saying, I went and got this contract and now
- 58:23Speaker 3: in your mind, that means I should throw the ball 50,
- 58:26Speaker 3: 60 times a game and I'm just more of a
- 58:28Speaker 3: game manager. Well, we should know that 50, 60 passes
- 58:32Speaker 3: does not win. It does not win. It probably means
- 58:37Speaker 3: you're losing if you got to throw the ball 60 times.
- 58:40Speaker 9: But isn't that what your fan base is expecting? I've
- 58:44Speaker 9: paid this much money for a quarterback. Surely we're going
- 58:47Speaker 9: to make him.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Throw the ball.
- 58:49Speaker 19: That's why we got him, right? No, but if you
- 58:51Speaker 19: would think, if your fan base, if you were Cleveland.
- 58:54Speaker 3: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 58:55Speaker 1: We're talking about quarterbacks, sir, sir. We're talking about Cleveland.
- 58:58Speaker 1: Your fan base is running.
- 58:59Speaker 9: No, I'm saying we're talking about quarterbacks. You can't, because
- 59:01Speaker 9: of your team, you can't really talk when we talk
- 59:03Speaker 9: about quarterbacks.
- 59:04Speaker 1: We'll be back with more of the Sports Talk Show.
- 59:07Speaker 3: Right after this. Woo, woo.
- 59:09Speaker 27: Woo.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Swing.
- 59:14Speaker 23: Come on, swing.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 59:20Speaker 20: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gambia is
- 59:23Speaker 20: coming up next.
- 59:25Speaker 1: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 59:28Speaker 11: Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical
- 59:31Speaker 11: piece of financial security, yet only 49% actually have life insurance.
- 59:36Speaker 7: When I was 25, me and my wife were just
- 59:38Speaker 7: getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 59:40Speaker 7: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 59:43Speaker 1: What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 59:46Speaker 7: When I was 40, with a kid in college and
- 59:48Speaker 7: bills piling up, I was worried how my family would
- 59:50Speaker 7: survive without me. That's when I made an appointment with
- 59:52Speaker 7: the insurance informant.
- 59:53Speaker 11: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family security,
- 59:56Speaker 11: no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 59:58Speaker 7: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:00:01Speaker 7: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: The answer is easy.
- 1:00:04Speaker 11: Whether you're 25 or 50, whether you earn a little
- 1:00:06Speaker 11: or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 1:00:09Speaker 11: to help you build a foundation of security. Because without you,
- 1:00:12Speaker 11: your family will have two options, benefits or bills. Which
- 1:00:16Speaker 11: legacy will you leave behind? Log on today, benefitsorbills.com. That's benefitsorbills.com.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: I actually drive better when I'm high. If anything, I'm
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: more careful.
- 1:00:29Speaker 16: That's probably what the driver who killed a four-year-old told himself.
- 1:00:33Speaker 16: And now he's in prison. If you feel different, you
- 1:00:36Speaker 16: drive different. Don't drive high. Brought to you by NHTSA
- 1:00:39Speaker 16: and the Ad Council.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Enough is.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: Enough!
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: I have had enough!
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: Why so serious?
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: And we hold the world ransom for... Excuse.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: Me while I whip this out.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Show me that. Broadcasting live in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: This, this is the Sports Chalk Show.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: With Wayne Gandy.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: You may build me up, build me up, yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: you build me up, yeah.
- 1:01:09Speaker 25: You won't break me down, I've.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Come so far, I'm.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: So far, yeah, yeah, I've come so far, yeah. So
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: just throw in the towel, hey, hey, hey, hey. It's
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: a new day, I'm a, I'm a doobie, yeah, I'm
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: gonna go.
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: All the way.
- 1:01:22Speaker 19: You may build me up.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: Talk Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you. Giants, Rams tonight,
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: Monday night. Football, after a great weekend of football, it
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: just seems like on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays now, there's
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: some big game, especially early on in the season. You know,
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: as it gets later and teams' records start dictating, you
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: kind of fall off based on watching games and the records.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: But right now, Everybody in their first three, four, five games,
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: you have a lot of expectations. One team that seems
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: to like they're playing above themselves is the Raiders. The
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: Vegas Raiders beating the Chargers. The Chargers, Justin Herbert, a
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: team that a lot of people felt like could do
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: some things. And there's still a lot of football. So
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: there's 15 games left. It's a tough road. I think
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: they showed one statistic like only like maybe three teams
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: in history have like made the playoff starting 0-2, but
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: there is a chance. But the Raiders behind Kirk Cousins
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: and that defense beating the Chargers yesterday, was it 26-14
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: in that game? You got your hand up. Go ahead, sir.
- 1:02:43Speaker 9: You had asked about comments, sir, and I was negligent
- 1:02:46Speaker 9: in mentioning that. our resident Raider fanatic said very early
- 1:02:52Speaker 9: in the show, let's spend these precious, acknowledging that time
- 1:02:57Speaker 9: is precious, these precious two hours talking about teams that
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: matter right now. Like the overachieving Raiders, and he spelled
- 1:03:08Speaker 9: it that way, Raiders.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: The Raiders definitely, and this is the thing, that Kurt
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: Cousins and why he kept getting, he's efficient. He's always
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: been that. I think he, that's why people, oh, he
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: got this opportunity. Kurt has put up, if you look
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: at all-time lists, he's on, you know, in some top
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: 15 all times and this and that. He just kind
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: of gives you, if you got the other parts of
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: a team, like a defense and a run game, like
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: a gentee, to be able to not lose games with
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: a run game.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: And what's wrong with that?
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: He's your old school game, smart game manager guy.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: And what's wrong with that?
- 1:03:55Speaker 9: When we talk about a dog won't hunt, they take
- 1:03:57Speaker 9: them dogs out and put them down. Now, Kurt might
- 1:04:00Speaker 9: not run up a tree after nothing, but every time
- 1:04:03Speaker 9: he bark in that direction, you can best believe that
- 1:04:06Speaker 9: whatever he was chasing is in that direction.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: He's consistently... Serviceable.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: Yes. Threw for three touchdowns yesterday, one interception, only sacked twice. Gen.T
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: only really has a team. They only ran for about
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: 60 yards. It was the Raiders and Kirk Cousins with
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: a run game. Can hold it down until you can
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: get your first pick, Mendoza. He knows what the rules are.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: He's good at that. And he's just a solid guy,
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: I think, as I said, with the money. When you
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: start giving certain money, then people have a higher expectation
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: of what they think that's going to bring. I think
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: that's what happens each and every time Kirk got signed.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: But that's what you, the solid quarterback in a league
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: that's desperate for quarterbacks get overpaid. You look at, you
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: look at Baker Mayfield. Yeah. He got an extension that
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: puts him at the, about the 50 a year. But,
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: He's just going to do that same Baker Mayfield. He's
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: a tough guy. He's going to get out of this
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: or that. But he's not going to, you know, he
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: still needs the other components. He needs somebody to run
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: the ball. He needs a defense. Give him some short
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: fields here and there. And it's just the money makes
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: you think, oh, now Baker's going to throw the ball
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: 60 times. And he's going to do that thing that
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: John Elway and those guys do. It's just the B-level
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: quarterback and the A-level quarterback gets the same check. Maybe
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: that's how I should say it.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: You can get the same check being the B-level quarterback.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: There's only one role that separates them.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: Because of the desperation of the rest of the league.
- 1:05:59Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: So you can be B-level. And get paid A-level. You
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: see that?
- 1:06:04Speaker 17: Because there aren't as many as those. Like, if there
- 1:06:08Speaker 17: are 32 starting jobs, there might only be 12 teams
- 1:06:15Speaker 17: that are like, okay, we are good at quarterback. And
- 1:06:18Speaker 17: then some of those 12 are those B-level guys.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: B-level. Most of them are B-level. That's why Bryce Young
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: is going to get paid A-level money. with B-level performance,
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: and you're going to let the A-level money make you think, oh,
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: now he's going to jump. And that's not how the
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: league– you see it in the NBA. How many games
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: you watch, and there's a guy on that team making
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: crazy– he's making Steph Curry money. Yeah. With only 60%
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: of the Steph Curry impact. He's not even selling the
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: arena out, but he's making the same dollar amount. There's
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: some guys that are in the top four or five
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: salaries that you're not even interested to go see the
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: game because their game does not say, hey, Vic Kenny, man,
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: let's go down here and see Matt Kessler or somebody.
- 1:07:12Speaker 9: It sounds like a running joke, but the Falcons are
- 1:07:14Speaker 9: in that position right now.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I'm saying, no, seriously. They're in that position right now.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: You asked me to come back out. He keeps trying
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: to evoke these.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: So all I'm saying is you don't have to be
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Lamar Jackson to make Lamar Jackson money.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: Period. That's all we're saying. Stop. That's all we're saying.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: You do not. That's what the market would buy. And
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: maybe if you can absorb that, then you can understand
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: how this works.
- 1:07:38Speaker 19: Why Kurt couldn't get me? What happened with us with
- 1:07:40Speaker 19: Kurt then? He was coming off an Achilles injury.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: You got Kurt off an Achilles injury at an older
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: age that you were not trying to give him any
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: kind of leeway.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: And he walking around in the city during the offseason.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: That was immediate. You signed Kurt, then you draft Pennix.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Same year. Like a month later.
- 1:07:59Speaker 13: I know.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: And I'm not sitting here saying that Kurt is the answer.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: I'm saying Kurt is a great Band-Aid for teams. And
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: that's why he always keeps getting paid. Because he's in
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: that second tier. But you can be in the second tier.
- 1:08:19Speaker 19: He's that, I'm stuck on Band-Aids, and Band-Aids stuck on me.
- 1:08:23Speaker 9: But then he had other things to help with the
- 1:08:26Speaker 9: wound in a Vegas. He's got some antibodies, got some
- 1:08:33Speaker 9: gauze to go with it. He was just a raw
- 1:08:36Speaker 9: Band-Aid on a bone hanging out the skin. And I mean,
- 1:08:40Speaker 9: you know, there's only so much a Band-Aid can do.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: There's some dirt on it.
- 1:08:42Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: There's only so much a Band-Aid can do with a
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: bone hanging.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Out the skin. Hey, we are in the South, so
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: you can be tough.
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: 10 times. And I think maybe that's what we need
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: to start promoting so people can understand. I think that's
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: what Deshaun Watson, I'm going to be level. When I'm good,
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: I'm still B. B-level. And B-level in the NFL can
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: still get you paid like you're Patrick Mahomes. You're still
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: going to use Patrick Mahomes' salary. in a desperate free
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: agent market as the word is.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: The base salary for a win.
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: And that's why the Chiefs had to give Patrick a
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: little more money this offseason because he went in there like,
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: come on, man.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Come on, man.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: Baker.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Who you going to get? Me and Baker can't be
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: making the same money. Come on, man.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: I mean, I'm going to need at least $ 5 more
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: because me and Baker cannot be on the stat sheet.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: I understand it's expensive. I'm not saying it don't cost
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: a lot. I'm just saying it's going to have to
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: cost a little bit more because Baker's making the same.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: Jerry Rice used to have one of those escalator contracts
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: in his career, which was one of the first of,
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: you know, I don't think they even give that out
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: no more, but he always had to be paid in
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: the top three salary. As people got paid, he got paid.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: Because basically the same thing. You can't leapfrog me.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: I'm called Whirl. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: You talking about this dude down in so-and-so making more
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: than Whirl? No. No, that's not going to happen. But
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: in the NFL, that's what happens. I think Kirk Cousins
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: is a good filler. I thought he was good from
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: just the standpoint of being– taking the attitude where he
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: would help a Mendoza is my biggest– Like, not just
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: help him by, I'm going to play a little bit
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: while you get ready, but also be willing to.
- 1:10:34Speaker 9: Hey, what you need to do when you drop back,
- 1:10:36Speaker 9: look for your, that kind of thing.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: He gives me that. He gives me, he could be
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: somebody's quarterback coach.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: What was the guy, RG3, was saying is missing in
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: the locker room.
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: Yeah, the veteran presence. The veteran presence. That's what Kirk
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: can offer. Oh, playing like this, he'll give you a
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: couple of more games. They will definitely keep him. He'll
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: be the Charlie Batch kind of guy. Yeah. That he'll
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: still be standing over there in two, three more years.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: You'll be like, is that Kurt still over there?
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: He's still the backup.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: Because Kurt's in what year now? This is year 15. Yeah,
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: he been out there for a minute. Yeah, he came
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: in with our G3. Yeah, he's been around for a while.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: The FBI has identified 35 additional women who have claimed
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: that Dijon Love and Taylor Chan, because remember the 49er
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: player that wasn't a 49er player, Dijon Love, he did
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: have an accomplice, Taylor Chan, because Taylor would be the
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: one that would call and act like he was the
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: business person when they would run the scams.
- 1:11:46Speaker 9: I'm surprised Taylor hadn't claimed that he was manipulated because
- 1:11:50Speaker 9: he was 18 and Dejon is in his 30s.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: It probably was Taylor's scheme. But a good lawyer would go, man.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: I'm saying a good lawyer would be like, man, tell
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: him you was manipulated. No, he hit love up. Hey, man,
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: I see you on Instagram with your fake profile.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: You want to make some money off of it?
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: But they have added 35 more additional women. The FBI added.
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: So that screams, as Big Kenny and Bad Producer have
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: taught me, the Alphabet Boys sing it. Gives it a
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: little more potency, right?
- 1:12:31Speaker 19: Yeah, it means you're going to do over 50 months
- 1:12:34Speaker 19: in federal prison.
- 1:12:34Speaker 9: It means that if they say they found 35 women,
- 1:12:37Speaker 9: they ain't found 34 and a half women. That means
- 1:12:40Speaker 9: you're looking at— They done found 35 whole females.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: To come forward. It might mean they have 70 women, actually.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: I'm saying that, but you can believe that 35's showing up.
- 1:12:51Speaker 19: You just went from probably probation, restitution, and just a fine,
- 1:12:55Speaker 19: but to actually have to go sit down.
- 1:12:57Speaker 8: Sure, sure.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: He's going to go sit down for a while. When
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: the FBI pick you up in Idaho. Yeah, you're going
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: to sit down.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: We'll be back. More of the Sports Talk Show right
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: after this.

- 1:17:39Speaker 3: here to start the week.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Ah, Daniela Alonzo, 47 years old.
- 1:17:43Speaker 8: 48.
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: You sure you want to have 48? Because you said 47.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: Oh, because here they have her at 47. Yeah.
- 1:17:49Speaker 9: But she 48, which, ah, she getting a little... Yeah,
- 1:17:54Speaker 9: I'm sure she got one more rotation on them ties. Well,
- 1:17:57Speaker 9: it ain't that bad. I'm sure she got another rotation
- 1:17:59Speaker 9: on the tie.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: Clunk, clunk.
- 1:18:01Speaker 9: And then Alonzo. Because, you know, I'm getting to that
- 1:18:03Speaker 9: age where I can't have no woman, no old woman.
- 1:18:07Speaker 9: I can't have no woman my.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: Age, no. Comanche Greg has a chicken heist that he
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: brought to me.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: Again.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: Another chicken heist. I thought it was shrimp last time. No,
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: it was Chicken Wing. Remember the lady was for the school?
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: 50,000 pounds. Chicago's finest. That was before.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: But we have since talked about a shrimp heist. Yeah,
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: because they was getting the shrimp off the truck. Yeah,
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: the shrimp heist. Yeah, the shrimp heist.
- 1:18:34Speaker 9: And we was wondering where did like 30,000 pounds of
- 1:18:37Speaker 9: shrimp go?
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: Well, shrimp and chicken go good in fettuccine.
- 1:18:40Speaker 9: And it's football season. So it disappeared fast. That's what
- 1:18:44Speaker 9: I'm saying. It's football season, which means that there's no
- 1:18:49Speaker 9: accounting for the influx of shrimp and chicken. Like nobody goes,
- 1:18:53Speaker 9: why they got all this? And then the evidence disappears immediately.
- 1:18:58Speaker 9: But Greg, tell me a little bit about this chicken heist.
- 1:19:02Speaker 9: That was about $ 110, 000. $ 110, 000 worth of chicken was.
- 1:19:09Speaker 17: It was 12 people arrested at a Memphis hotel. They
- 1:19:13Speaker 17: tried to offload the chicken.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: At the hotel.
- 1:19:21Speaker 17: So, yeah, 12 people were arrested, and they were charged
- 1:19:23Speaker 17: with theft of property between $ 60, 000.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: And $ 250, 000.
- 1:19:27Speaker 17: That's the specific charge.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: So, yeah, 12 people were— First of all, too many
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: people involved.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: Well, I was wondering, said 12, was it like the
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: sellers plus the buyers? Plus the buyers, right. Maybe I
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: thought it was a combination.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because we trapping out the back of
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: the hotel. Yeah.
- 1:19:48Speaker 9: We got the little refrigerated truck. You pulling up. I
- 1:19:50Speaker 9: get 15 pounds. Hey, man, give me 18. I want
- 1:19:54Speaker 9: a 10 piece.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Okay. I see what you're saying.
- 1:19:56Speaker 17: And also the trading, the chicken was going to be
- 1:20:01Speaker 17: used as a trade for a drug debt.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: Oh, too bad. One of the 12 people involved. Oh, see. See,
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: that's too much.
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: That's too much.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: That's too much.
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: You got to have cash and carry product for product.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: I can't be doing chicken for meth. It don't work.
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: High school football team scored 105 points. The article was
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: trying to figure out how do they get the schools
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: to stop this. Is that correct too, Comanche Craig? Well,
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: in this, in that story, they were already up 98
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: to 14 in the last 30 seconds of the game.
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: And the coach told him to kneel on it, kneel
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: out the clock.
- 1:20:48Speaker 17: But, the quarterback took it upon himself through another touchdown,
- 1:20:51Speaker 17: so they crack 100 points.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: Well, for how I know high school rules, at that
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: kind of score, the referees go and actually ask the
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: losing coach, do they just want to let it go?
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: So you would just have to either just make a
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: solid rule, like when I call games, if you're up,
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: 32 points.
- 1:21:20Speaker 13: Or more in the fourth.
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: When the fourth quarter starts, they do a running clock.
- 1:21:25Speaker 17: And you would think they would have done that at
- 1:21:27Speaker 17: halftime because it was 64-14.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Oh, they should have took some time off the clock, too.
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: In some states, they will take time off the clock
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: or they will just go ask. It's 70-0. They will
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: just go ask the opposing coach, but then coaches have
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: that whole little, no, I don't want to teach them.
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: To quit.
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: To quit. Okay, well, get a little more of this then.
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: You don't want to quit.
- 1:21:52Speaker 19: Well, Sports Jock, I don't do football here in Georgia.
- 1:21:56Speaker 19: He knows the football. But in basketball, they don't have
- 1:22:00Speaker 19: an option once we get to the fourth quarter. If
- 1:22:02Speaker 19: they're down so many points and the coach say, oh,
- 1:22:05Speaker 19: we're just going to let them. Let's keep going. Let's
- 1:22:07Speaker 19: keep it at the eight minutes. But we go to
- 1:22:08Speaker 19: the fourth quarter, you're still down. Coach, you got no option.
- 1:22:11Speaker 19: We're going to take two minutes off the clock. We're
- 1:22:12Speaker 19: going to go here. We give you that option at
- 1:22:15Speaker 19: one time, but then sooner or later we got to
- 1:22:16Speaker 19: make the executive decision for you because this is going
- 1:22:20Speaker 19: to get worse.
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: And that's why I said the running clock, they don't
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: have any control. If you're down by 32 points when
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: that quarter starts, the first game I had this year
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: was a running clock in the fourth. North Gwinnett was
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: up in the game and it makes a running clock.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: But y'all had a long night.
- 1:22:40Speaker 9: You say they make the executive decision. What exactly are
- 1:22:45Speaker 9: we first trying to prevent? And secondly, what do you
- 1:22:52Speaker 9: think the children take away from an experience like that?
- 1:22:56Speaker 9: I mean, because to me, being beaten by 80 points
- 1:23:00Speaker 9: is impactful. It's something that can change the course of
- 1:23:04Speaker 9: how you view competing. for the rest of your life,
- 1:23:07Speaker 9: both good and bad. So do you think it's something
- 1:23:10Speaker 9: that ought to be left up to an official? Because
- 1:23:13Speaker 9: you just may be trying to get home early, where
- 1:23:16Speaker 9: I might feel like as a player I can come
- 1:23:18Speaker 9: back 30 points.
- 1:23:19Speaker 19: No, we're not trying to get home. No, like I said,
- 1:23:22Speaker 19: we give you the third quarter. We'll let your coach
- 1:23:24Speaker 19: make the decision for you. But if your team is
- 1:23:27Speaker 19: still getting beat, you're hurting that kid also. You could
- 1:23:30Speaker 19: be hurting them by continuously letting them beat.
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: And in this game, they were down by 50 at halftime. Yeah,
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: I'm saying that. Hey, I had a coach one time.
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: We was getting beat 34 to nothing at halftime. He said, hey,
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: y'all want to just get on the bus and go home? Well,
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: they're supposed to go to the coach. The only thing
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: is they try to put the mindset of they don't
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: want to feel like you quit in those situations. But
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: other than that, coaches really would. My thing is, At
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: least on the high school level, it should be a
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: good rule to kind of shorten because we keep talking
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: about player safety.
- 1:24:01Speaker 25: Right.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: So if it's 70 to zero and it's some kind
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: of you need nine touchdowns to catch up in a quarter,
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: I need to protect you. So let's call this.
- 1:24:12Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: Let's shorten this quarter and have a running clock.
- 1:24:17Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: And let's get out of here. We'll be back. More
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: of the Sports Talk show right after this. with a

- 1:27:16Speaker 29: I'm the human orchestra called Abismal. Welcome back to the
- 1:27:18Speaker 29: Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Gandy. NFL
- 1:27:24Speaker 29: season week two. Tonight, Monday Night Football. The Rams hosting
- 1:27:31Speaker 29: the Giants in a game that already you feel after
- 1:27:37Speaker 29: the Rams coming back from Australia.
- 1:27:39Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: Needs to win against the Giants. Jackson Dart, John Harbaugh
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: seem to have his team feeling like they can compete
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: this year after a couple of years of falling off.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: So the Rams desperately need to get out here and
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: win this game. What other games, you guys? Dallas beat
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: Washington yesterday. Dak and that offense looked high-powered. still to
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: me just a little more running game to bring a
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: little balance for Dallas, but strong game in that for,
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: and I saw Jeff Bezos at the game. I was
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: sitting there thinking, would Steven sell the team to Jeff Bezos?
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: I wonder how that would work. You think it's possible? Well,
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: teams still get, no, I'm talking about once Jerry passes,
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: because that's when teams usually get, caught in soul.
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, the second generation.
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: The second generation.
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: And the third definitely is looking at the sheet. So
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: I just kept thinking– because Jeff Bezos will buy the
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: team and leave Stephen in control kind of thing.
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: Jeff's probably trying to figure out how to buy, like,
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: 10 teams. I don't know if it's just a mathematical
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: coincidence because there's 32 teams in the NFL, correct?
- 1:29:10Speaker 27: Yes.
- 1:29:10Speaker 9: But it just seems like they're at the front end
- 1:29:14Speaker 9: of this NFL season. The schedule has been heavy with
- 1:29:20Speaker 9: back-to-back short week games. It seems like all the teams
- 1:29:25Speaker 9: that have been playing or Sunday, then Thursday, and Thursday,
- 1:29:29Speaker 9: or Thursday, and then Monday night. And you've been saying
- 1:29:34Speaker 9: how that's a big problem for players, and that seems
- 1:29:39Speaker 9: like this first two weeks of the season seems to
- 1:29:44Speaker 9: be all back-to-back.
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: Well, because it didn't always– when they started the Thursday– Yeah.
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: It used to just be at the end of the season.
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: It was November for four weeks.
- 1:29:55Speaker 25: Right.
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: And every year since then, it's grown to where now
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: is basically the whole season. There's Thursday night games.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: Because they want every team to play Thursday.
- 1:30:07Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:30:07Speaker 17: Have at least one Thursday night game. But I think
- 1:30:10Speaker 17: there's one team that doesn't have a Thursday night game
- 1:30:12Speaker 17: at all. It might be the Raiders.
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: Well, the Falcons are going to play, and they probably
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: have some Friday game or something like that that will
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: make up for that. But this Thursday, it will be Packers-Falcons.
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: The Chiefs had enough yesterday to hold on against the Colts.
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: Daniel Jones and the Colts behind Jonathan Taylor's legs. Really,
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: he's giving the Chiefs a scare going into overtime. But
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: you could see what Kenneth Walker– The third coming over
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: from the Seahawks where he won the MVP of the
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: Super Bowl really is impacting and giving the Chiefs that
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: feel they had from about three years ago about their offense.
- 1:30:57Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: That they can do some things because of how dangerous.
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: I think he rushed for about 120 last night. But
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: he's a versatile back and he's really on display. And
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: I think he can have that because you still have
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: to respect Patrick Mahomes. So, I think he's going to
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: make a lot of yards this year. The 49ers beating
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: the Dolphins 35-13. Denver outlasting the Jags yesterday. Bo Nix
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: doing enough to win this game. What's his name?
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence. Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: Of the Jags. The Steelers looking terrible on offense. Um,
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: I know everybody preaches quarterbacks, but if you don't have
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: an offensive line, you will get embarrassed. And the Steelers
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: offense got embarrassed yesterday because of the lack of offensive
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: line play. Tennessee. And this is the thing. I was
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: watching this game. Tennessee was up. I think the score
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: was 17-17. And they went down and they decided to take.
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: the 20 to 17 league and I kept thinking, no,
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: when you are at home and you're trying to beat
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: the Eagles, you try to score a touchdown. This is
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: how teams like the Eagles beat you. You lay up
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: for the field goal and you leave us two minutes
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: left and we score the touchdown. Is that not the same?
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: What do you have to lose as Tennessee? Nothing.
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: So make them drive the length of the field.
- 1:32:43Speaker 17: If you don't score a touchdown, if you're inside the
- 1:32:47Speaker 17: 10 or whatever.
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: Yes, and make them still go down. But this is
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: just how I see it.
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: There it is.
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: This is that typical you're trying to beat a team
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: that is better than you. You've got to actually just
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: go ahead on and finish the game and, you know,
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: play with a little less fear. And try to win
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: the game in that situation. We talked about the Ravens
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: hosting the Saints. What's the quarterback for the Saints? Shou? Shao?
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: Shuck.
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: Shuck. Pronounce Shuck. Definitely is something he would have to
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: tell you. It's not how it's spelled. Tyler Shuck? Yes.
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: The Saints, who, if you remember, week one, had the Lions.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: On the rope. I mean, they was.
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: Yeah. Three more seconds on the clock.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Yeah. They would have knocked them out. They went for
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: the win in overtime.
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: And rightfully so. That's what I mean. We have to lose.
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: We're playing a team that should beat us, and we
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: don't want to give them an opportunity. You got to
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: go for the win sometimes. But yesterday, 24-17 against Lamar
- 1:33:55Speaker 3: Jackson and the Ravens, a game I'm quite sure Vegas
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: had the other way. especially how the Ravens looked the
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: first week. And this being their home opener, the Bears.
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: Losing.
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: Nine to three to the Vikings, but also losing Caleb Williams.
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: He actually was watching this play. He was scrambling. I
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: think he was down about the five yard line. He
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: was trying to throw a little fake. And as he
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: was herking, juking and jiving. Juking and a jiving. I
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: could tell he pulled a hamstring. I don't know. Because
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: of the way he went down. Hopefully he didn't tear it.
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: Hopefully it's just a pull. Tear is weeks, weeks, even
- 1:34:42Speaker 3: at the court.
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: Icy hot. Hopefully he can just icy hot it and
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: ice it.
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: A pull might be a week. A tear could be
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: the season. How he went down made me think he
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: tore his hamstring. Because that injury doesn't really heal. It
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: takes time, a hamstring. Well, and for him, he's, a
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: mobile quarterback. Part of what makes him is his dangerous
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: moving around. He extends plays, so it's something that can
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: always be activated. But for all the points the Bears
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: put up in that first week, I think that's why
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: in this game, Carson Wentz being the quarterback. And that's something,
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: I'm telling you, it's the same thing, kind of like
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: the Falcons. The Vikings right off the bat, They brought
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: Kyler Murray in. They thought maybe J.J. McCarthy, isn't that
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: his name?
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: That's it, right?
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: Was going to do something. Remember, he was the guy
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: they drafted. So now we're on plan C. Their plan
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: C just happens to be a guy who has been
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: around and done some things. Carson Wentz has enough on
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: his resume that you don't lose the team The other
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: 10 guys can think, okay, if we give Carson this
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: or we give Carson that, I'm going to have to
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: adjust to the ball a little more. But it's going
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: to kind of be there. It's different than when you're
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: on your plan C and it's a guy that spent
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: no time with you, has no real resume. to do
- 1:36:22Speaker 3: anything so uh the vikings uh nine to three over
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: the bears go ahead.
- 1:36:27Speaker 9: Uncle charlie wants to know did anyone on the patriots
- 1:36:29Speaker 9: defense get charged with elder abuse yesterday.
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: Uh uh one time they hit him i thought uh
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: you got concerned yeah because i could see him grimace
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: on the ground.
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: Y'all need to.
- 1:36:45Speaker 9: Stop doing, somebody get that man out of there.
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: He's not going to be able to take too much
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: of that. But he did. Go through and stand upright,
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: but trust me, it's ice bath and icy hot. And, man,
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: why am I still doing this? Some of that herb
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: where he gets that Joshua tree.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: That goes undetected.
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: Yeah, he actually on the bark now. After yesterday, he
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: chewing bark.
- 1:37:11Speaker 19: With your mobile quarterbacks or your running backs, the two injuries,
- 1:37:15Speaker 19: high ankle sprains and hamstrings, those are like two injuries
- 1:37:19Speaker 19: that you really got to– Monitor them.
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: If not, they can turn into something more.
- 1:37:26Speaker 19: And in that situation with Caleb Williams, do you think
- 1:37:32Speaker 19: that if he's out for more than three or four weeks,
- 1:37:35Speaker 19: the Bears, their season, is it gone?
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: I mean, that's what they're riding with. Well, you're answering
- 1:37:44Speaker 3: the question yourself. If that's what they're riding with, that's
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: who they have put all the stock into.
- 1:37:50Speaker 19: They put all their stock into them, and I'm just wondering.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: Who's the backup? Who went in there for him?
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: Tyson Bajent.
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: Yeah, they about like us. He's been there a couple years. Yeah,
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: they like us.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: So we will see. Is that what you're trying to do,
- 1:38:07Speaker 3: trying to find somebody's? Misery loves company. Man, we ain't
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: doing good either. We'll be back with more of the
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: Sports Talk Show. He's searching for something. We all struggling.
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: Right after this, more of the Sports Chalk Show.
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 1:38:32Speaker 20: More of the Sports Chalk Show with Wayne Gamby is.
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: Coming up next.
- 1:38:38Speaker 30: Everyone needs to take care of their mental health, even
- 1:38:40Speaker 30: running back Bijan Robinson.
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: When I'm on the field and feeling the pressure, I
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: usually just take a deep breath.
- 1:38:46Speaker 6: When I'm just breathing and seeing what's in front of me,
- 1:38:48Speaker 6: everything just slows down.
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: It just makes me feel great before I run the play.
- 1:38:53Speaker 30: Just like Bijan, we all need a strong mental game
- 1:38:55Speaker 30: on and off the field. Make a game plan for

- 1:40:16Speaker 1: to the sports jar, Wayne Ganty.
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: It's Wayne Gandy. It's Wayne Gandy.
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: Oh, log on so you can see the sports J-O-C,
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: even Big Candy.
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: Talk Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you out there listening
- 1:40:51Speaker 3: and laying. One thing Uncle Charlie mentioned, Russell Wilson. Yeah,
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: maybe for the Falcons. I said maybe see what Dylan Gabriel,
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: because he's up there at the third spot. And he
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: knows right now something happened to Deshaun. They're going to
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: invest in Shador. And he might be a piece they
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: would let go. You maybe can hit the Bengals and
- 1:41:19Speaker 3: see if Joe Flacco wants to come.
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: Possibly. Possibly.
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: But he is a great backup plan for Joe Burrow,
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: so that would be hard. I was trying to think
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: of somebody else. RG3, Cam Newton, they're too far away removed.
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: It's been how many seasons? I mean, this has got
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: to be about the third, fourth year for Cam. Five.
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: This is the fifth year.
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: Yeah, so when everybody keeps saying Cam, it's not like
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: even with Phillip Rivers. It had only been a short while,
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: and he was in coaching. And when you do that,
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: you want to go grab somebody that has been in
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: your scheme. That's why you got to figure out who's
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: linked to Kevin Stefanski. Joe Flacco could work if the
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: Bengals are willing to trade him or whatever. So that's
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: the thing I'm looking at. Somebody that's not that far
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: removed like a Russell Wilson or someone who has in
- 1:42:19Speaker 3: the last year or two been connected to Kevin Stefanski,
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: even some of those other guys that might not be
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: on teams. Remember they had like four or five quarterbacks
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: because guys kept getting hurt. So they had some running
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: around guys. I forget their names. There was about two
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: years ago where he was trying to play them up there.
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: One of them is Josh Johnson.
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: Josh Johnson.
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: He's played for like athletes.
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: Right, that's what I'm saying. People like that. So those
- 1:42:51Speaker 3: are the two things I'm trying to get. When you
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: look for people, you're looking for people who played under,
- 1:42:56Speaker 3: like Cooper Rush would be better going to the Stillers
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: because he played under Mike McCarthy. So he would know
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: the scheme. You could put him up there. He probably
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: wouldn't look as bad as he looks trying to run
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: a scheme. He's trying to learn and run a scheme
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: of someone he never had even an offseason with.
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: Yeah, he was signed right before the first preseason game.
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: Yeah, so you kind of have to, these are your things.
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: If Michael Penich can't really do what we want him
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: to do, which is a question mark. I thought his
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: weakness last year before he got hurt was that his
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: injuries had kind of created a little gun shyness of
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: putting himself at risk.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: When making certain plays. That is a thing. It is
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: a mental hurdle. that nobody can icy hot out of you.
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: It's just something that you have to, you can see
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: with Patrick Mahomes coming off his ACL. But as far
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: as I know, this is his first ACL. And he's
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: in full assurance that he feels like he can play.
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: But that's not everybody when they're dealing with an injury
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: and definitely not somebody like a Michael Pennant that has,
- 1:44:19Speaker 3: had years canceled in college and in pros based on injury.
- 1:44:25Speaker 3: So that's to me where the doctor is telling him,
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: hey man, go on. Y'all told me that last time.
- 1:44:33Speaker 3: And then I went out there and then you told
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: me that the time after that. So just so many
- 1:44:38Speaker 3: times you're going to walk in that fence and the
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: owner keep telling you the dog don't bite.
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: And he'd get bit. And he'd get bit.
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: And he'd wonder why you're telling him just to meet
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: him at the restaurant.
- 1:44:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: I ain't coming to pick you up.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not.
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: I'm not. A fitness champion, Big Kenny, soiled herself.
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: Refused to stop. Organizers now say they're going to adopt
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: a new rule. And I didn't understand. This was one
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: of those iron kind of women. Competitions? Like triathlon?
- 1:45:16Speaker 9: Well, it's one of those where you're doing a marathon
- 1:45:20Speaker 9: and then you're stopping and you're doing exercises as well.
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: What's the games? The iron games? Or what's the, where
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: the people that work out a lot?
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: Crossfit.
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: Crossfit.
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: It's sort of like that.
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: And high rocks is the new one.
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: And that's the one. That's the one she competed in.
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: High rocks.
- 1:45:41Speaker 9: And it made me wonder because they're going to have
- 1:45:46Speaker 9: to come up with a new rule because of the
- 1:45:49Speaker 9: fact that.
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: What is.
- 1:45:57Speaker 9: They hadn't governed that yet. They had participants spitting.
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: They had.
- 1:46:05Speaker 9: Unnecessary other things, but soiling yourself had not yet been governed.
- 1:46:10Speaker 9: So now if you soil yourself, the officials can actually
- 1:46:13Speaker 9: pull you out of the competition because it's seen as
- 1:46:18Speaker 9: unsanitary and a threat to competitors and offensive to spectators.
- 1:46:24Speaker 9: But I wondered, are there any, I thought it was
- 1:46:27Speaker 9: interesting that they have rules against spitting during competition when
- 1:46:31Speaker 9: we see in the NFL that on more than one occasion,
- 1:46:38Speaker 9: And many occasions bodily fluids are released.
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: Well, I guess maybe that's part of the whole endurance.
- 1:46:48Speaker 3: You can't spit. You can't have some water. Like maybe
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: that is the part that makes it a little different.
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: More difficult. And maybe if it makes you use the bathroom. Like,
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: you know, I've been at practices where the coach tells
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: you we're not going to stop until somebody throws up.
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: When you saw that in Semi-Pro. You ever see the
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: movie Semi-Pro with Woody Harrison? They made it a play
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: called Puke. And that little scene, that is a true scene.
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: We're going to keep running until somebody throws up. Using
- 1:47:23Speaker 3: the bathroom on yourself. I've been at practice where we
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: had rules in college. You couldn't leave. So if you
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: had to throw up, you had to throw up and
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: get him back in the drill. If you left... You
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: had to start all over. It was the same thing
- 1:47:39Speaker 3: as having to use the bathroom. If you had to
- 1:47:42Speaker 3: use the bathroom, you could go over there to the
- 1:47:46Speaker 3: garbage can, pull your pants down, do it, and then
- 1:47:49Speaker 3: jump back in the drill, and it.
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: Counted.
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: But if you had to leave and go to the bathroom,
- 1:47:56Speaker 3: then the 20 sprints you ran were vacated. Don't, don't, don't.
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: So it had that kind of military edge to how
- 1:48:05Speaker 3: much will you go through? How much will you sacrifice
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: to finish? And some guys were willing to go or
- 1:48:16Speaker 3: at least show that nothing will stop them. and in
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: this case I guess maybe when you said the no
- 1:48:24Speaker 3: spitting so it sounds like it's not just the endurance
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: of the body but the mind and you don't get
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: to do anything but suffer.
- 1:48:34Speaker 17: Maybe that's it but in triathletes are known to have
- 1:48:40Speaker 17: soiled themselves um yes so i think it's just some
- 1:48:45Speaker 17: i think it's just something they didn't expect and they
- 1:48:47Speaker 17: didn't know how to deal with yet.
- 1:48:48Speaker 9: Yeah yeah they they were clearly caught off guard i'm
- 1:48:51Speaker 9: sure she was caught off guard too nah she knew
- 1:48:53Speaker 9: no she said that she wasn't feeling that way when
- 1:48:56Speaker 9: she first started competing and then something suddenly happened.
- 1:48:59Speaker 3: Right because you can't stop so what do i do
- 1:49:03Speaker 3: yeah i guess my stomach gets upset and i'm depends
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: right That might be a rule. Yeah, it might be
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: a rule. We'll be back. More of the Sports Jock
- 1:49:12Speaker 3: Show right after this.
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 1:49:19Speaker 3: coming up next.
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: When I smoke weed.
- 1:49:21Speaker 3: I get lost in the music.
- 1:49:37Speaker 13: I like to isolate each instrument. The rhythmic bass, the
- 1:49:41Speaker 13: harmonies on the piano, the sticky melody.
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: Hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 1:49:49Speaker 26: Careful, babe.
- 1:49:50Speaker 8: There's someone crossing the street.
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: Sorry, I didn't see him there. If you feel different,
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: you drive different. Don't drive high. It's dangerous and illegal everywhere.
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: A message from NHTSA and the Ad Council.
- 1:50:04Speaker 18: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive while
- 1:50:06Speaker 18: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for
- 1:50:10Speaker 18: us kids and our cell phones? Distracted driving was the
- 1:50:14Speaker 18: cause of more than 3,000 deaths in 2022.
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: Come on, we're smarter than this.
- 1:50:20Speaker 18: Let's put down the phones and focus on the roads.
- 1:50:22Speaker 18: Drive safe, everybody.
- 1:50:25Speaker 24: Don't drive distracted. A message brought to you by the
- 1:50:28Speaker 24: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the
- 1:50:31Speaker 24: Ad Council.
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:50:40Speaker 6: Now, it's time for the scoreboard, where we put a
- 1:50:44Speaker 6: spin on life and sports, and how they intermingle.
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: On the Sports Jock Show, with Wayne Gandy. Back to life,
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: back to reality.
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: Back to life, back to reality.
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: Shock Wayne Candy. Good morning to you. We were just
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: talking about the fitness games. One interesting case that might
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: set a new precedent in sports and in training is
- 1:51:39Speaker 3: that a judge is allowing on Friday that former Bucknell
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: football coach can be tried or the 2024 death of
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: the freshman player. This would be something that would set
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: a precedent. Basically, the 18-year-old Calvin C.J. Dickey Jr., the
- 1:52:07Speaker 3: weight coach, the strength and conditioning coach is now, they're
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: going to let it proceed that he can be tried
- 1:52:15Speaker 3: for aggravated some semblance of charge. I'm looking for it.
- 1:52:22Speaker 3: The Attorney General can charge him for his role in
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: this death. Now, this just becomes where now the weight coach,
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: and I can see a little more, and this is
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: not trying to be insensitive, I can see a little
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: more if it was from CJ, was in an isolated case.
- 1:52:48Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: But this was, it sounded like 10, 12, 15 guys.
- 1:52:53Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: If it was CJ, you were late for practice. You
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: going to run until you throw up.
- 1:52:59Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: I can see that.
- 1:53:02Speaker 3: And this happens to be a group.
- 1:53:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:53:05Speaker 9: We just, we doing wind sprints. We doing suicides is
- 1:53:09Speaker 9: what they used to call it.
- 1:53:11Speaker 3: And everybody's required to actually do the same. And because
- 1:53:15Speaker 3: what it's saying, he has a, a certain sickle cell
- 1:53:20Speaker 3: trait that can trigger, then it starts making me feel
- 1:53:27Speaker 3: like I get what you're trying to do as the AG,
- 1:53:32Speaker 3: but you're kind of reaching a little bit in this
- 1:53:37Speaker 3: to me.
- 1:53:39Speaker 9: It's an emotional issue. Someone's child lost their life, but
- 1:53:44Speaker 9: I would imagine for me, the focus would be on
- 1:53:48Speaker 9: the prerequisite clearances that are required before I can get
- 1:53:57Speaker 9: on the field. You said I was healthy enough to play.
- 1:53:59Speaker 9: I didn't know about the sickle cell activation in certain circumstances.
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: I didn't know about that.
- 1:54:04Speaker 9: I don't think that the physicals that we give prior
- 1:54:08Speaker 9: to the season even cover stuff like that. And so, again,
- 1:54:13Speaker 9: it was unfortunate, but it was unforeseen. And now, that
- 1:54:17Speaker 9: it's on the radar, we can adjust, but all we
- 1:54:19Speaker 9: can really offer now is maybe some oversight and compensation.
- 1:54:25Speaker 9: I don't know what will satisfy the loss of a child, but,
- 1:54:29Speaker 9: you know, to prosecute the coach seems a bit.
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: Of a stretch.
- 1:54:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it touches on, and that's why I said it's
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: very unprecedented to put them in that situation. So now
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: you got to start, you would almost have to make
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: some type of manual of what is allowed. Every coach
- 1:54:50Speaker 3: at every place I've ever been or ever heard of
- 1:54:53Speaker 3: has a different workout.
- 1:54:56Speaker 9: It'd have to be a standard regulation of strength and conditioning.
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: I can only run you 12 times.
- 1:55:03Speaker 21: Yes.
- 1:55:04Speaker 9: For these many minutes per time, it would have to
- 1:55:08Speaker 9: be regulated.
- 1:55:09Speaker 19: Well, I mean, you would think with everything going on
- 1:55:13Speaker 19: in football, with college football, NILs, At one time, remember
- 1:55:17Speaker 19: I asked, are they going to put together a union
- 1:55:20Speaker 19: for these guys?
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: Because there's monies involved. People are making monies.
- 1:55:25Speaker 19: That would come like a collective embark. The same thing
- 1:55:30Speaker 19: as the NFL has the union to be able to
- 1:55:33Speaker 19: go on your behalf to make adjustments. Say you only
- 1:55:35Speaker 19: so many practices, so many hours they can be outside.
- 1:55:39Speaker 19: They already got compliance as far as NCAA of what
- 1:55:43Speaker 19: they can and when they can practice, but This would
- 1:55:45Speaker 19: take it a little further, you would think, with adding a.
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: No, it would have to be specific to mounts and sets.
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: For this kind of thing, you're trying to regulate how
- 1:56:01Speaker 3: the weight coach trains. So some of training is subjective.
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: I don't think y'all were running hard enough. We've all
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: played sports. You've done things or been in the military.
- 1:56:14Speaker 3: You've done things just based. He added two on because
- 1:56:17Speaker 3: he didn't feel like Big Kenny. Somebody was laughing. Well,
- 1:56:20Speaker 3: Big Kenny should be leading every one of them.
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: Yeah. And I'm third on this set.
- 1:56:25Speaker 3: And he was sitting there counting the times that he
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: was third. And then we get finished with the 20.
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: Oh, y'all owe me.
- 1:56:32Speaker 3: Three more because Big Kenny didn't win all of them.
- 1:56:37Speaker 9: And now here we going, and in that last three,
- 1:56:41Speaker 9: I'm trying to win, but Sports Jock done reached his
- 1:56:47Speaker 9: limit three ago. So these other two have pushed him
- 1:56:52Speaker 9: to the line, and that last one is him crossing
- 1:56:55Speaker 9: the line.
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: But the coach done done that a thousand times with us.
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: But we didn't know about Sports Jock's sickle cell thing
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: that could be activated.
- 1:57:04Speaker 3: A couple years ago when we had the case, when
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: we had that one about the track coach, they wanted
- 1:57:11Speaker 3: to fire because the two kids were late. And they
- 1:57:14Speaker 3: were crab walking.
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: On their hands. And they burned their hands on the track.
- 1:57:20Speaker 3: And they said that that was excessive and unneeded. So
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: don't that coach need a manual? That tells that.
- 1:57:30Speaker 9: Because that coach, they were just asking for that coach,
- 1:57:33Speaker 9: I think, to be fired. Now that coach would be prosecuted.
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: And that coach in their mind, this is what I'm
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: going to use to deter you from being late.
- 1:57:44Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: I'm going to hit you with some of these wheelbarrows.
- 1:57:48Speaker 3: And the next time. you're going to be thinking, man,
- 1:57:52Speaker 3: I'm going to get there on time because I ain't
- 1:57:53Speaker 3: doing no more than wheelbarrow.
- 1:57:54Speaker 9: But now the manual says before you can do that,
- 1:57:57Speaker 9: you have to test the surface temperature of the track
- 1:58:00Speaker 9: or the ground.
- 1:58:01Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:58:01Speaker 19: And that's what I'm saying. That's what it's going to
- 1:58:03Speaker 19: have to be. Well, that's what I said when it
- 1:58:04Speaker 19: comes in with the money issues now. It's just basically
- 1:58:08Speaker 19: you're going to, I'm going to hit you with a fine.
- 1:58:10Speaker 19: Just like Colorado has started with like, you're late.
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: You got a fine. Well, I'm saying. It's not even
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: that though.
- 1:58:17Speaker 17: Like some, they might just view the crab walking on
- 1:58:22Speaker 17: the hot track as insensitive.
- 1:58:24Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:58:25Speaker 8: Ah.
- 1:58:26Speaker 19: And he would have got, if they did it in
- 1:58:29Speaker 19: the grass.
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: He would have, it would have been okay if he'd
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: sent them in the grass.
- 1:58:33Speaker 9: And that's what we're saying about the regulation is there
- 1:58:36Speaker 9: will be all kinds of people who will want to
- 1:58:39Speaker 9: make nuances like that, do it in the grass. And
- 1:58:42Speaker 9: then some people will say that crab walking ain't necessary.
- 1:58:45Speaker 9: Either you on time or you're not on time. So
- 1:58:49Speaker 9: that that's where we are. There is no punishing students for,
- 1:58:54Speaker 9: not doing what you asked them to do.
- 1:58:57Speaker 3: No different than, oh, we used stadium steps or we
- 1:59:01Speaker 3: used ramps. And so you knew if I'm late for curfew,
- 1:59:07Speaker 3: I got 50 stadium steps. Nah, I ain't going down
- 1:59:12Speaker 3: to Montgomery with you. You got to go down there
- 1:59:14Speaker 3: by yourself. That's really how it was. I'm not going
- 1:59:17Speaker 3: to risk that.
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: Right, and now you'll have to regulate all of that.
- 1:59:20Speaker 3: But now you would have to actually put something out.
- 1:59:21Speaker 3: So it's just a tough situation. I understand you're trying
- 1:59:25Speaker 3: to make sure there's some, as parents, I would imagine,
- 1:59:31Speaker 3: and I would think loss of job was big enough,
- 1:59:34Speaker 3: but they want to prosecute for, in a sense, wrongful death.
- 1:59:39Speaker 3: And we are. In the ocean.
- 1:59:43Speaker 6: The truth is, he will throw your ass in the ocean.
- 1:59:47Speaker 6: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports Jack
- 1:59:51Speaker 6: Show with Wayne.
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: We hear the sounds of the ocean, give the sports. Y'all,
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: it's just a minute to vent.
- 2:00:17Speaker 3: We'd like to thank you for tuning in to today's show.
- 2:00:20Speaker 3: Thank you, guys, for all your contributions. Tonight, Monday Night Football,
- 2:00:25Speaker 3: the Giants at the Rams. If you missed any of
- 2:00:28Speaker 3: the show, you can go to Amazon Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Audible, Deezer, iHeartRadio,
- 2:00:35Speaker 3: or Spotify. After the show goes off, Greg will upload.
- 2:00:40Speaker 3: You can hear the replay. Going in the ocean today
- 2:00:46Speaker 3: out of Scott, Louisiana. And I want this prosecutor to
- 2:00:54Speaker 3: prosecute to the full extent of the law. 36-year-old Mary
- 2:01:01Speaker 3: Comer and 34-year-old David Butt decided they would attend LSU
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: football games. After they had left their four-year-old at home,
- 2:01:18Speaker 3: after giving, I'm going with giving Comanche Greg, it says
- 2:01:22Speaker 3: ingested as though the kid just came upon the gummy.
- 2:01:28Speaker 3: Y'all gave that four-year-old that gummy and left him with
- 2:01:33Speaker 3: another kid and went to the game for eight hours.
- 2:01:39Speaker 3: He ain't just sneak up on that gummy. It's old
- 2:01:43Speaker 3: Big Kenny giving little Kenny NyQuil to get him to sleep.
- 2:01:49Speaker 3: Don't be trying to act like they just, how he
- 2:01:52Speaker 3: just stumbled upon the gun.
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: Four-year-old. On top of the shelf in the closet. The
- 2:01:59Speaker 1: top shelf.
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: I know what the plan is. You just wanted the
- 2:02:03Speaker 3: baby to sleep for a while. They have been taken
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: into custody. After they got back, they did get the
- 2:02:13Speaker 3: kid to the hospital. He wasn't breathing right.
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: Bet he wasn't. Four-year-old with a gummy. So go with
- 2:02:21Speaker 1: the full law, Mr.
- 2:02:22Speaker 3: Prosecutor.
- 2:02:23Speaker 1: They gave it to him. Go ahead on and prove it.
- 2:02:25Speaker 1: They gave it to him. I know they did. So
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: for that, Commander Greg, throw Mary and David in the ocean.
- 2:02:33Speaker 1: Walk the plank. Now, see, if.
- 2:02:44Speaker 3: Mary had stayed with Joseph, none of this would have
- 2:02:48Speaker 3: ever happened. But she done.
- 2:02:49Speaker 1: Went out with David. She tried to ride with King David.
- 2:02:56Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin got them drugging their kids down there in
- 2:02:59Speaker 3: Baton Rouge. From the Sports Talk Show and from the guys,
- 2:03:04Speaker 3: we hope you have a good afternoon.
- 2:03:05Speaker 4: Peace.
