  It's

  not

  at
• 1:51
  all
• 1:51
  fanciful
• 1:52
  for
• 1:52
  me
• 1:52
  to
• 1:53
  think
• 1:53
  this
• 1:53
  was
• 1:54
  way
• 1:55
  about
• 1:55
  you.
• 1:56
  My
• 1:57
  prayers
• 1:57
  and
• 1:57
  hopes
• 1:57
  have
• 1:58
  deep
• 1:58
  roots
• 1:59
  in
• 1:59
  reality.
• 2:00
  You
• 2:00
  have,
• 2:01
  after
• 2:01
  all,
• 2:01
  stuck
• 2:02
  with
• 2:02
  me
• 2:02
  all
• 2:03
  the
• 2:03
  way
• 2:03
  from
• 2:03
  the
• 2:03
  time
• 2:03
  I
• 2:04
  was
• 2:04
  thrown
• 2:04
  in
• 2:04
  jail,
• 2:05
  put
• 2:05
  on
• 2:06
  trial
• 2:06
  and
• 2:06
  came
• 2:07
  out
• 2:07
  of
• 2:07
  it
• 2:07
  in
• 2:07
  one
• 2:07
  piece.
• 2:08
  All
• 2:09
  along
• 2:09
  you
• 2:09
  have
• 2:09
  experienced
• 2:10
  with
• 2:10
  me
• 2:10
  the
• 2:11
  most
• 2:11
  generous
• 2:11
  help
• 2:12
  from
• 2:12
  God.
• 2:13
  He
• 2:13
  knows
• 2:13
  how
• 2:14
  much
• 2:14
  I
• 2:14
  love
• 2:14
  and
• 2:14
  miss
• 2:15
  you.
• 2:15
  These
• 2:15
  days.
• 2:16
  Sometimes
• 2:16
  I
• 2:17
  think
• 2:17
  I
• 2:17
  feel
• 2:17
  as
• 2:17
  strongly
• 2:18
  about
• 2:18
  you
• 2:18
  as
• 2:18
  Christ
• 2:19
  does.
• 2:19
  So
• 2:20
  this
• 2:20
  is
• 2:20
  my
• 2:20
  prayer
• 2:21
  that
• 2:22
  your
• 2:22
  love
• 2:22
  will
• 2:22
  flourish
• 2:23
  and
• 2:23
  you
• 2:23
  will
• 2:23
  not
• 2:23
  only
• 2:24
  love
• 2:24
  much,
• 2:24
  but
• 2:24
  well.
• 2:26
  Learn
• 2:26
  to
• 2:26
  love
• 2:27
  appropriately.
• 2:28
  You
• 2:28
  need
• 2:28
  to
• 2:28
  use
• 2:28
  your
• 2:29
  head
• 2:29
  and
• 2:29
  test
• 2:29
  your
• 2:30
  feelings
• 2:31
  so
• 2:31
  that
• 2:31
  your
• 2:31
  love
• 2:31
  is
• 2:32
  sincere
• 2:32
  and
• 2:32
  intelligent,
• 2:33
  not
• 2:34
  sentimental.
• 2:34
  Gush.
• 2:36
  Live
• 2:36
  a
• 2:36
  lover's
• 2:37
  life,
• 2:37
  circumspect
• 2:38
  and
• 2:38
  exemplary,
• 2:39
  a
• 2:39
  life
• 2:39
  Jesus
• 2:40
  will
• 2:40
  be
• 2:40
  proud

  of

  bountiful

  and

  from

  Jesus

  Christ.
• 2:44
  Attractive

  to

  all,
• 2:45
  getting
• 2:46
  everyone
• 2:46

  in

  the

• 2:50
  Well,
• 2:50
  my
• 2:51
  friends,
• 2:51
  welcome
• 2:51
  back.
• 2:52
  Glad
• 2:52
  you're
• 2:52
  here
• 2:52
  today.
• 2:52
  Here
• 2:53
  in
• 2:53
  the
• 2:53
  daily
• 2:53
  Bible
• 2:53
  refresh.
• 2:54
  And,
• 2:55
  and
• 2:55
  I
• 2:55
  mean
• 2:55
  that
• 2:55
  whatever
• 2:56
  situation
• 2:56
  you
• 2:56
  find
• 2:57
  yourself,
• 2:57
  if
• 2:57
  it's
• 2:57
  in
• 2:58
  the
• 2:58
  morning,
• 2:58
  you're
• 2:58
  just
• 2:58
  waking
• 2:58
  up,
• 2:59
  getting
• 2:59
  going,
• 3:00
  maybe
• 3:00
  you're
• 3:00
  on
• 3:00
  your
• 3:00
  commute
• 3:01
  or
• 3:01
  maybe
• 3:01
  you're
• 3:01
  doing
• 3:01
  laundry
• 3:02
  or
• 3:02
  doing
• 3:02
  something
• 3:02
  else
• 3:02
  like
• 3:03
  that.
• 3:03
  Hey,
• 3:04
  it's
• 3:04
  great
• 3:04
  to
• 3:04
  be
• 3:05
  alive.
• 3:05
  Great
• 3:05
  to
• 3:05
  be
• 3:05
  with
• 3:06
  you.
• 3:06
  My
• 3:06
  wife
• 3:07
  and
• 3:07
  I
• 3:07
  were
• 3:07
  out
• 3:07
  to
• 3:08
  take
• 3:08
  a
• 3:08
  beautiful
• 3:09
  spring
• 3:09
  day
• 3:09
  recently,
• 3:10
  out
• 3:10
  taking
• 3:10
  a
• 3:10
  walk
• 3:10
  among
• 3:11
  the
• 3:11
  trees
• 3:12
  and
• 3:12
  a
• 3:12
  wood
• 3:12
  park
• 3:12
  near
• 3:13
  us.
• 3:13
  And
• 3:14
  it's
• 3:14
  just
• 3:15
  one
• 3:15
  of
• 3:15
  those
• 3:16
  days
• 3:16
  where
• 3:16
  you
• 3:16
  just
• 3:16
  kind
• 3:16
  of.
• 3:17
  Just
• 3:17
  a
• 3:17
  beautiful
• 3:17
  spring
• 3:17
  day
• 3:18
  could
• 3:18
  have
• 3:18
  stayed
• 3:18
  out
• 3:18
  all
• 3:18
  day.
• 3:19
  There's
• 3:20
  something
• 3:20
  about
• 3:20
  the
• 3:20
  woods
• 3:21
  and
• 3:21
  the
• 3:21
  quiet
• 3:22
  that
• 3:22
  just
• 3:23
  centers
• 3:23
  me.
• 3:24
  So
• 3:24
  wherever
• 3:25
  you're
• 3:25
  at
• 3:25
  right
• 3:25
  now,
• 3:25
  I'm
• 3:26
  honored
• 3:26
  to
• 3:26
  share
• 3:26
  a
• 3:26
  few
• 3:26
  minutes
• 3:27
  with
• 3:27
  you.
• 3:27
  And
• 3:27
  what
• 3:27
  a
• 3:28
  letter
• 3:28
  we've
• 3:28
  got
• 3:28
  to
• 3:29
  take
• 3:29
  a
• 3:29
  look
• 3:29
  at
• 3:30
  here
• 3:30
  today.
• 3:30
  Paul
• 3:31
  is
• 3:31
  writing
• 3:31
  from
• 3:31
  prison
• 3:32
  and
• 3:32
  is
• 3:32
  essentially
• 3:33
  saying,
• 3:34
  every
• 3:34
  time
• 3:34
  I
• 3:34
  think
• 3:34
  of
• 3:35
  you,
• 3:35
  I
• 3:36
  smile.
• 3:37
  Ha
• 3:37
  ha.
• 3:38
  That
• 3:38
  is
• 3:39
  a
• 3:39
  deeply
• 3:40
  encouraging
• 3:41
  human
• 3:42
  moment.
• 3:43
  And
• 3:43
  the
• 3:43
  whole
• 3:43
  passage
• 3:44
  is
• 3:44
  dripping
• 3:44
  with
• 3:44
  this
• 3:45
  warm,
• 3:45
  grounded
• 3:46
  affection
• 3:47
  that
• 3:47
  I
• 3:47
  think
• 3:47
  has
• 3:47
  a
• 3:47
  lot
• 3:48
  to
• 3:48
  teach
• 3:48
  us
• 3:48
  today.
• 3:48
  So
• 3:48
  let's
• 3:49
  get
• 3:49
  into
• 3:49
  a
• 3:49
  couple
• 3:49
  points
• 3:50
  to
• 3:50
  ponder.
• 3:51
  The
• 3:51
  first
• 3:51
  one
• 3:51
  is
• 3:51
  this,
• 3:51
  that
• 3:52
  love
• 3:52
  needs
• 3:52
  a
• 3:52
  brain.
• 3:53
  Paul
• 3:54
  prays
• 3:54
  that
• 3:55
  the
• 3:55
  Philippians
• 3:55
  love
• 3:56
  will
• 3:56
  flourish.
• 3:58
  But
• 3:58
  notice
• 3:59
  how
• 3:59
  he
• 3:59
  qualifies
• 3:59
  it.
• 4:00
  He
• 4:00
  doesn't
• 4:00
  just
• 4:00
  say
• 4:01
  love
• 4:01
  more,
• 4:01
  he
• 4:02
  says
• 4:02
  love.
• 4:03
  Well,
• 4:04
  he
• 4:04
  says,
• 4:05
  learn
• 4:05
  to
• 4:05
  love
• 4:05
  appropriately,
• 4:06
  sincere
• 4:07
  and
• 4:07
  intelligent,
• 4:08
  not
• 4:09
  sentimental
• 4:09
  gush.
• 4:11
  That
• 4:11
  phrase.
• 4:12
  Did
• 4:12
  you
• 4:12
  get
• 4:12
  that?
• 4:13
  Not
• 4:14
  sentimental
• 4:14
  gush.
• 4:16
  That
• 4:16
  got
• 4:16
  my
• 4:17
  attention.
• 4:17
  Didn't
• 4:17
  you?
• 4:18
  And
• 4:18
  so,
• 4:19
  see,
• 4:19
  progressive
• 4:20
  Christianity
• 4:20
  has
• 4:20
  long
• 4:21
  pushed
• 4:22
  back
• 4:22
  on
• 4:22
  the
• 4:22
  idea
• 4:22
  that
• 4:23
  love
• 4:23
  is
• 4:23
  just
• 4:23
  some
• 4:24
  warm,
• 4:24
  oogly,
• 4:25
  googly
• 4:25
  feeling
• 4:26
  that
• 4:26
  generates
• 4:26
  only
• 4:27
  on
• 4:27
  Sunday
• 4:27
  mornings.
• 4:29
  Real
• 4:29
  love.
• 4:29
  The
• 4:30
  kind
• 4:30
  of
• 4:30
  love
• 4:30
  that
• 4:31
  looks
• 4:31
  like
• 4:31
  Jesus
• 4:32
  is
• 4:32
  engaged
• 4:33
  with
• 4:33
  every
• 4:34
  aspect
• 4:34
  of
• 4:35
  life.
• 4:35
  It's
• 4:35
  thoughtful,
• 4:36
  it
• 4:36
  asks
• 4:37
  hard
• 4:37
  questions,
• 4:38
  and
• 4:38
  it
• 4:38
  shows
• 4:38
  up
• 4:38
  even
• 4:39
  when
• 4:39
  it's
• 4:39
  inconvenient.
• 4:40
  It
• 4:40
  uses
• 4:41
  its
• 4:41
  head.
• 4:42
  I
• 4:42
  do
• 4:42
  a
• 4:43
  weekly
• 4:43
  cancer
• 4:43
  related
• 4:44
  podcast
• 4:45
  all
• 4:45
  about
• 4:45
  cancer
• 4:46
  and
• 4:46
  living
• 4:46
  a
• 4:46
  hopeful,
• 4:47
  humor
• 4:47
  filled
• 4:48
  life
• 4:48
  with
• 4:48
  that.
• 4:49
  And
• 4:49
  I've
• 4:49
  been
• 4:50
  doing
• 4:50
  it
• 4:50
  for
• 4:50
  about
• 4:50
  three
• 4:50
  years
• 4:50
  now.
• 4:51
  And
• 4:51
  the
• 4:51
  most
• 4:51
  meaningful
• 4:51
  moments
• 4:52
  aren't
• 4:52
  when
• 4:53
  someone
• 4:53
  shows
• 4:53
  up
• 4:53
  with
• 4:54
  a
• 4:54
  perfect
• 4:54
  inspirational
• 4:55
  quote
• 4:55
  and
• 4:56
  story.
• 4:57
  Many
• 4:57
  times
• 4:57
  it's
• 4:57
  the
• 4:58
  meaningful
• 4:58
  stories,
• 4:59
  meaningful
• 4:59
  moments.
• 4:59
  When
• 5:00
  someone
• 5:00
  who
• 5:00
  has
• 5:01
  generally
• 5:01
  thought
• 5:02
  about
• 5:02
  the
• 5:02
  suffering
• 5:02
  that
• 5:02
  they're
• 5:03
  going
• 5:03
  through
• 5:03
  and
• 5:04
  what
• 5:04
  they
• 5:04
  need
• 5:04
  right
• 5:05
  now
• 5:05
  and
• 5:05
  what
• 5:05
  they
• 5:05
  need
• 5:05
  to
• 5:06
  offer
• 5:06
  right
• 5:06
  now,
• 5:06
  then
• 5:06
  acts
• 5:07
  on
• 5:07
  it.
• 5:08
  That's
• 5:08
  intelligent
• 5:09
  love.
• 5:10
  That's
• 5:11
  what
• 5:11
  Paul
• 5:11
  is
• 5:11
  talking
• 5:12
  about
• 5:12
  right
• 5:12
  here.
• 5:14
  A
• 5:14
  second
• 5:14
  point
• 5:15
  to
• 5:15
  ponder.
• 5:16
  God
• 5:16
  doesn't
• 5:16
  quit
• 5:17
  on
• 5:17
  you.
• 5:18
  Here's
• 5:18
  a
• 5:18
  line
• 5:18
  that
• 5:18
  hit
• 5:18
  me
• 5:19
  hard
• 5:19
  throughout
• 5:19
  this
• 5:20
  passage
• 5:20
  here.
• 5:22
  It's
• 5:22
  quote,
• 5:22
  there
• 5:22
  has
• 5:22
  never
• 5:23
  been
• 5:23
  the
• 5:23
  slightest
• 5:23
  doubt
• 5:24
  in
• 5:24
  my
• 5:24
  mind
• 5:24
  that,
• 5:25
  that
• 5:25
  the
• 5:25
  God
• 5:25
  who
• 5:25
  started
• 5:26
  this
• 5:26
  great
• 5:26
  work
• 5:27
  in
• 5:27
  you
• 5:27
  would
• 5:27
  keep
• 5:28
  at
• 5:28
  it.
• 5:29
  Close
• 5:29
  quote.
• 5:30
  Oh,
• 5:30
  man,
• 5:30
  I
• 5:30
  love
• 5:31
  that.
• 5:31
  See,
• 5:32
  God
• 5:32
  doesn't
• 5:32
  abandon
• 5:33
  a
• 5:33
  project.
• 5:33
  Once
• 5:33
  again,
• 5:34
  things
• 5:34
  get
• 5:34
  a
• 5:34
  little
• 5:34
  difficult.
• 5:35
  That's
• 5:36
  a.
• 5:36
  And
• 5:36
  that
• 5:36
  is
• 5:36
  kind
• 5:36
  of
• 5:37
  a
• 5:37
  really
• 5:37
  a
• 5:37
  countercultural
• 5:38
  thing
• 5:38
  to
• 5:39
  hear.
• 5:39
  We
• 5:40
  live
• 5:40
  in
• 5:40
  a
• 5:40
  world
• 5:40
  where
• 5:40
  everything
• 5:41
  is
• 5:41
  disposable.
• 5:42
  You
• 5:42
  know,
• 5:43
  in,
• 5:43
  in,
• 5:43
  at.
• 5:43
  In
• 5:44
  sports
• 5:44
  teams.
• 5:45
  I
• 5:45
  follow
• 5:45
  the
• 5:46
  pro
• 5:46
  teams
• 5:46
  in
• 5:46
  my
• 5:46
  town,
• 5:47
  Indianapolis,
• 5:48
  and
• 5:48
  teams
• 5:48
  will
• 5:48
  trade
• 5:48
  away
• 5:49
  players
• 5:49
  and
• 5:49
  get
• 5:49
  players
• 5:50
  in.
• 5:51
  And
• 5:51
  sometimes
• 5:51
  if
• 5:51
  somebody
• 5:51
  has
• 5:52
  a
• 5:52
  bad
• 5:52
  season,
• 5:52
  they're
• 5:52
  gone
• 5:53
  and
• 5:53
  things
• 5:53
  like
• 5:54
  that.
• 5:54
  And
• 5:55
  there
• 5:55
  could
• 5:55
  be
• 5:55
  up
• 5:55
  seasons
• 5:56
  and
• 5:56
  down
• 5:56
  seasons.
• 5:57
  You
• 5:57
  know,
• 5:57
  if
• 5:57
  you're
• 5:58
  an
• 5:58
  IU
• 5:58
  football
• 5:59
  fan,
• 5:59
  Indiana
• 5:59
  University
• 6:00
  football
• 6:00
  fan,
• 6:00
  lots
• 6:01
  of
• 6:01
  down
• 6:01
  seasons
• 6:01
  and
• 6:01
  then
• 6:02
  a
• 6:02
  championship
• 6:03
  season
• 6:03
  this
• 6:04
  year.
• 6:04
  Things
• 6:04
  have
• 6:05
  an
• 6:05
  ups
• 6:05
  and
• 6:05
  it
• 6:05
  goes.
• 6:06
  But
• 6:07
  we
• 6:07
  know
• 6:08
  what
• 6:08
  it's
• 6:08
  like
• 6:08
  to
• 6:09
  watch
• 6:09
  a
• 6:09
  rebuild.
• 6:11
  But
• 6:11
  God
• 6:12
  doesn't
• 6:12
  do
• 6:13
  rebuilds
• 6:13
  on
• 6:14
  you
• 6:14
  the
• 6:14
  way
• 6:14
  maybe
• 6:15
  a
• 6:15
  sports
• 6:15
  franchise
• 6:16
  would.
• 6:17
  God
• 6:17
  stays
• 6:18
  and
• 6:18
  keeps
• 6:18
  with
• 6:19
  you
• 6:19
  and
• 6:20
  keeps
• 6:20
  at
• 6:20
  it.
• 6:21
  Been
• 6:21
  married
• 6:21
  to
• 6:22
  my
• 6:22
  wonderful
• 6:22
  wife
• 6:23
  for
• 6:23
  over
• 6:23
  34
• 6:24
  years
• 6:24
  now,
• 6:24
  and
• 6:25
  we've
• 6:25
  got
• 6:25
  three
• 6:25
  wonderful
• 6:26
  adult
• 6:26
  kids
• 6:26
  and
• 6:26
  a
• 6:27
  couple
• 6:27
  of
• 6:27
  granddaughters
• 6:27
  who.
• 6:28
  And
• 6:29
  laughing
• 6:29
  with
• 6:29
  them
• 6:29
  and
• 6:29
  telling
• 6:30
  stories
• 6:30
  with
• 6:30
  them
• 6:30
  is
• 6:31
  just
• 6:31
  one
• 6:31
  of
• 6:31
  the
• 6:31
  greatest
• 6:31
  things
• 6:32
  of
• 6:32
  my
• 6:32
  life.
• 6:33
  None
• 6:34
  of
• 6:34
  that
• 6:34
  happened
• 6:34
  because
• 6:35
  anyone
• 6:35
  quit
• 6:35
  on
• 6:36
  each
• 6:36
  other.
• 6:37
  I
• 6:37
  will
• 6:37
  never
• 6:37
  quit
• 6:37
  on
• 6:38
  my
• 6:38
  kids
• 6:38
  or
• 6:38
  my
• 6:38
  grandkids,
• 6:39
  and
• 6:39
  they
• 6:39
  won't
• 6:39
  quit
• 6:39
  on
• 6:39
  me.
• 6:40
  Theologically
• 6:41
  speaking,
• 6:41
  God
• 6:42
  is
• 6:42
  the
• 6:42
  one
• 6:42
  who
• 6:43
  set
• 6:43
  that
• 6:44
  in
• 6:44
  motion
• 6:45
  and
• 6:45
  never
• 6:46
  stopped
• 6:46
  working.
• 6:47
  It's
• 6:47
  not
• 6:47
  a
• 6:48
  small
• 6:48
  thing
• 6:48
  for
• 6:49
  you
• 6:49
  to
• 6:49
  sit
• 6:49
  with
• 6:49
  today
• 6:50
  that
• 6:50
  God
• 6:51
  will
• 6:51
  never
• 6:52
  quit
• 6:52
  on
• 6:53
  you.
• 6:53
  So
• 6:54
  here's
• 6:54
  your
• 6:54
  action
• 6:54
  step
• 6:55
  for
• 6:55
  the
• 6:55
  day.
• 6:55
  Think
• 6:56
  of
• 6:56
  someone
• 6:56
  in
• 6:56
  your
• 6:57
  life
• 6:57
  who
• 6:57
  has
• 6:57
  been
• 6:58
  showing
• 6:58
  up
• 6:58
  for
• 6:58
  you,
• 7:00
  maybe
• 7:00
  through
• 7:00
  something
• 7:01
  hard,
• 7:01
  maybe
• 7:02
  just
• 7:03
  being
• 7:03
  there
• 7:03
  consistently
• 7:04
  over
• 7:04
  time.
• 7:05
  And
• 7:05
  reach
• 7:06
  out
• 7:06
  to
• 7:06
  them
• 7:06
  now.
• 7:07
  Reach
• 7:08
  out
• 7:08
  to
• 7:08
  them.
• 7:09
  Not
• 7:10
  with
• 7:10
  some
• 7:10
  generic,
• 7:11
  hey,
• 7:11
  how
• 7:11
  are
• 7:11
  you
• 7:11
  doing?
• 7:11
  Thing,
• 7:12
  but
• 7:12
  a
• 7:12
  specific
• 7:13
  thoughtful
• 7:13
  message
• 7:14
  about
• 7:14
  maybe
• 7:14
  some
• 7:15
  pertinent
• 7:15
  memory
• 7:15
  in
• 7:16
  your
• 7:16
  experience
• 7:16
  with
• 7:16
  them
• 7:17
  and
• 7:17
  tell
• 7:18
  them
• 7:18
  exactly
• 7:18
  what
• 7:18
  their
• 7:19
  presence
• 7:19
  meant
• 7:20
  to
• 7:20
  you.
• 7:21
  Hey,
• 7:22
  Paul
• 7:22
  wrote
• 7:22
  a
• 7:22
  whole
• 7:22
  letter
• 7:23
  about
• 7:23
  this.
• 7:24
  You've
• 7:25
  got
• 7:25
  a
• 7:25
  phone,
• 7:26
  you've
• 7:27
  got
• 7:27
  the
• 7:27
  Internet.
• 7:28
  Do
• 7:29
  something
• 7:29
  about
• 7:29
  it.
• 7:30
  Just
• 7:30
  takes
• 7:30
  a
• 7:30
  couple
• 7:30
  minutes.
• 7:31
  Go
• 7:31
  love
• 7:32
  somebody
• 7:32
  well
• 7:33
  and
• 7:33
  intelligently
• 7:34
  today.
• 7:36
  We're
• 7:36
  going
• 7:37
  to
• 7:37
  come
• 7:37
  back
• 7:37
  and
• 7:37
  have
• 7:37
  a
• 7:37
  prayer
• 7:37
  here.
• 7:38
  Just
• 7:38
  a
• 7:38
  second.
• 7:39
  First,
• 7:39
  want
• 7:39
  you
• 7:39
  to
• 7:39
  know
• 7:39
