- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a bramble Jam podcast. Welcome to Girls Gone Homemark,
- 0:24Speaker 1: a Hallmark review podcast. I'm Megan and I'm a longtime
- 0:26Speaker 1: Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater. Today
- 0:30Speaker 1: we're back with another mail bag episode. Thank you to
- 0:32Speaker 1: everyone who has submitted your thoughts on Hallmark happenings. You
- 0:37Speaker 1: can always send us your emails Girls Gone Hallmark at
- 0:41Speaker 1: gmail dot com and hopefully your email will be read
- 0:45Speaker 1: in an upcoming episode of the podcast. And we have
- 0:49Speaker 1: an array of topics to talk about. We're talking the
- 0:51Speaker 1: new football movie. We're talking the Hearts Around the Table movie.
- 0:55Speaker 1: We're talking our fan favorite so y'all delivered this week.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Our first email is from Caitlin. She writes, HI, here
- 1:05Speaker 2: are my thoughts on the new football movie time out,
- 1:07Speaker 2: no pun intended. We haven't talked about the new forthcoming
- 1:13Speaker 2: Hallmark Christmas football movie, have we?
- 1:16Speaker 1: No? Not here on the podcast, we haven't. So what
- 1:20Speaker 1: day was that? It feels like a long time ago?
- 1:23Speaker 1: But uh, and I can't even remember that football guy's
- 1:26Speaker 1: name who made the announcement. I think it's a I'm
- 1:31Speaker 1: gonna be wrong, is it Damar Hamlin?
- 1:33Speaker 2: Maybe he's the one who suffered some sort of heart
- 1:37Speaker 2: injury while playing.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Interesting, I didn't even make that connection because I remember
- 1:43Speaker 1: that story like the on field emergency.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yes, exactly a couple seasons ago.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Remember that was I remember it was very scary, and
- 1:54Speaker 1: my brain did not put those two items together. What
- 1:59Speaker 1: if the movie is about that? Well, that's where my
- 2:02Speaker 1: brain was just going, are we gonna be? Because so
- 2:09Speaker 1: just for reference, sic, let's bring it all around. It
- 2:12Speaker 1: was announced March twenty seventh. Okay today as of recording
- 2:16Speaker 1: is April ninth. This episode will drop on April eleventh.
- 2:19Speaker 1: But so we're a couple weeks out from this announcement.
- 2:22Speaker 1: We haven't talked about it here. I partially because we're not,
- 2:25Speaker 1: Like things aren't happening in real time around here. But
- 2:29Speaker 1: that's a really interesting thought because he's I'm certain gonna
- 2:33Speaker 1: be in the movie, right, He's in the promo for it,
- 2:34Speaker 1: so obviously he's gonna be one of the Buffalo Bill's
- 2:37Speaker 1: players who's in the movie. I hope. So, so are
- 2:41Speaker 1: they gonna use that story?
- 2:44Speaker 2: Wouldn't that be amazing? I think I'm all of.
- 2:48Speaker 1: A sudden, I'm back in on this movie because you
- 2:52Speaker 1: were out before, I wouldn't say I was out. I
- 2:55Speaker 1: just I really worry about a sequel. I always worry
- 3:00Speaker 1: about a sequel, and I'm going to say it right here.
- 3:04Speaker 1: My biggest feeling of dismay about this movie was I
- 3:08Speaker 1: don't want to repeat of last year in this sense
- 3:10Speaker 1: that I don't want our slate of countdown to Christmas
- 3:13Speaker 1: movies to suffer under a lack of promotion due to
- 3:18Speaker 1: a full court press wrong sport on this Buffalo Bill's movie.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I agree that was the biggest complaint I had last year.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I don't want.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Our favorites to get the shaft.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I just want to see a more balanced promotion of
- 3:37Speaker 1: our Hallmark movie slate this year.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Well, and let me ask you, do you think Tyler
- 3:43Speaker 2: Hines is going to start in this one as well?
- 3:46Speaker 3: Oh?
- 3:46Speaker 1: God, I hope not. I love you, Tyler, but I
- 3:49Speaker 1: want a completely different story. It already kind of bothers
- 3:52Speaker 1: me that it's like a holiday touchdown. It's like literally
- 3:56Speaker 1: one word different, A Bill's love story. Like I think
- 4:00Speaker 1: it's fine to be like a Chiefs love story, a
- 4:02Speaker 1: Bill's love story, a Rams love story. That's the tie in.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I don't really want them all to be Holiday touchdown.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. Yeah, and no preference. The writer
- 4:11Speaker 1: is totally different as well. Yes, we know that for sure.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I just think it would be weird for Tyler to
- 4:17Speaker 2: be like, man, now I'm bounce into the Bills.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Now, I'm a huge you know, Bills fan. Yeah, by
- 4:23Speaker 1: Hunter King, enjoy life in your family's Chiefs memorabilia store
- 4:28Speaker 1: because I gotta go north.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's gonna be interesting. Hmm Okay, let me
- 4:34Speaker 2: get back to Caitlin's email.
- 4:36Speaker 1: The title is strong Football Movie.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Opinions, so we're not alone here. As she writes, HI,
- 4:43Speaker 2: here are my thoughts on the New Football Movie. As
- 4:45Speaker 2: an almost lifelong Baltimore Ravens fan, a Hallmewark fan for
- 4:50Speaker 2: ten plus years in a die hard heini, I had
- 4:53Speaker 2: lots of fixed emotions with the Chiefs movie last year.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I completely understood why the Chiefs were selected, with Hallmark
- 5:01Speaker 2: being located in Kansas City and the incredible success of
- 5:04Speaker 2: the team in recent years, but also I can't stand.
- 5:08Speaker 1: The Chiefs l O L.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I was excited to hear about the New Football Movie,
- 5:14Speaker 2: but was not delusional enough to think Hallmark would choose
- 5:18Speaker 2: Baltimore as a backdrop of a Christmas movie. My first thought, however,
- 5:23Speaker 2: when hearing that the Bills were selected, was I guess
- 5:26Speaker 2: that means the Bills are in the super Bowl this year,
- 5:29Speaker 2: not the Ravens.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I have to pause. There, are you on conspiracy theory?
- 5:35Speaker 1: TikTok about football? No? Oh, not what I am. I
- 5:40Speaker 1: had to pause because she said, I'm not delusional enough
- 5:43Speaker 1: to think Hallmark would choose Baltimore as a backdrop of
- 5:46Speaker 1: a Christmas movie, But they did last year. Wasn't wasn't
- 5:51Speaker 1: that movie? The No, it wasn't. Never mind, were you
- 5:56Speaker 1: thinking Donna Kelsey's other movie? Yes, it was in Philly.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Oh my apologies.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Okay, moving on of all this to say I do
- 6:06Speaker 2: oh oh oh fun fact though, wait, I don't think
- 6:10Speaker 2: that takes place in Baltimore either.
- 6:11Speaker 1: The which one are we talking about now?
- 6:17Speaker 2: The the Jodie Sweeten movies.
- 6:21Speaker 1: M that was about the Ravens thing. Can g Allan
- 6:25Speaker 1: Poe Raven? Not football raven? Oh my god?
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yes, but I think the Ravens were named after that.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Edgar was I think?
- 6:33Speaker 3: Oh?
- 6:34Speaker 1: Right, But I think that was just like a she's
- 6:36Speaker 1: an English teacher tye in, not a Baltimore Raven Edgar
- 6:40Speaker 1: Allan Poe Tyant. Actually where does that take place? They
- 6:46Speaker 1: did that po Fest? Yeah, I don't know. I'm going
- 6:49Speaker 1: to google it. You keep reading.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Okay, all of us to say, I do really hope
- 6:53Speaker 2: that Hallmark considers the Ravens in an upcoming year. We
- 6:57Speaker 2: are the best we've been since our twenty twelve Super
- 7:00Speaker 2: Bowl year. We have incredible talent on our team, and
- 7:03Speaker 2: our coach has been with us since two thousand and eight.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Our fandom is so strong and has such a unique culture.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Hallmark could capitalize on the Han culture. She has quotes
- 7:15Speaker 2: h O n and then in prenzy penthesis says, if
- 7:18Speaker 2: you know you know, I don't know. I don't I
- 7:22Speaker 2: don't know either. Crabfest and our incredible history and gorgeous neighborhoods.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Baltimore is a unique, special place and the love runs
- 7:30Speaker 2: deep here. I hope that the bad wrap Baltimore gets
- 7:33Speaker 2: for our high crime rates doesn't deter Hallmark from seeing
- 7:36Speaker 2: the magic we have here. Thanks for coming to my
- 7:39Speaker 2: baltimorean TikTok smiley face Caitlin from Baltimore obviously dof Caitlin
- 7:45Speaker 2: work for the Ravens.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Okay, I have two fallo up pieces of information. One
- 7:50Speaker 1: Gene Mysteries is set in Baltimore, Maryland. Nuice Paul Wendy.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I knew, I knew something was there working in my brain.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Yeah, well done. I would never have gotten there. The
- 8:01Speaker 1: Hun culture h o N refers to the city's unique
- 8:07Speaker 1: dialect and working class heritage, exemplified by the term the
- 8:12Speaker 1: term hun short for honey, and the annual Hunfest, a
- 8:16Speaker 1: celebration of Baltimore's working class women. So is it like,
- 8:22Speaker 1: would you grab that box for me?
- 8:23Speaker 2: Hun?
- 8:25Speaker 1: I think that's the abbreviation there. Yeah, huns have begun.
- 8:28Speaker 1: According to this article from the BBC, one of Baltimore's
- 8:31Speaker 1: most prominent mascots for two days in June, Baltimore's quaint
- 8:35Speaker 1: neighborhood of Hampton is invaded by huns, armed with bee hives,
- 8:39Speaker 1: feather boas, and caddie glasses, but dazzled with rhinestones a
- 8:44Speaker 1: street working class women of Baltimore. Well that's cool. So yes,
- 8:52Speaker 1: that is a look. They need this kind of thing,
- 8:56Speaker 1: like they need something to make it a little more interesting.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I mentioned in football conspiracy theory. I don't buy into
- 9:03Speaker 1: any of this. This is a real teenage boy phenomenon.
- 9:06Speaker 1: But a lot of people believe, like the NFL is
- 9:09Speaker 1: a lot of people no, no, no, conspiracy theorists believe
- 9:13Speaker 1: that the NFL is scripted and that like the people
- 9:19Speaker 1: attending playing in the Super Bowl are predetermined. That was
- 9:23Speaker 1: my comment. So that's where that came from. Oh, interesting,
- 9:27Speaker 1: Well I guess that means the Bills are in the
- 9:29Speaker 1: Super Bowl. That was my Oh oh see the tie
- 9:33Speaker 1: in there. Well here's the thing. So there's that show.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys probably don't watch it.
- 9:39Speaker 2: It's on HBO. It's called Hard Knocks. It's usually like
- 9:42Speaker 2: a pre season football documentary where HBO spends time with
- 9:48Speaker 2: the football team preseason, during their workouts and all that stuff.
- 9:50Speaker 1: It's been on for several years. And NFL team that
- 9:55Speaker 1: they spend time with, yes, and some people believe it's curse.
- 10:00Speaker 1: So like if HBO comes there, then they do terribly
- 10:03Speaker 1: that season. Now, speaking of curses, I mean, the Chiefs
- 10:08Speaker 1: did lose the Super Bowl, right, Yeah, but didn't they
- 10:12Speaker 1: win the two prior to that?
- 10:14Speaker 2: Yes, but their Hallmark movie came out last year and
- 10:17Speaker 2: then they proceeded to lose the Super Bowl.
- 10:19Speaker 1: So do you really want the Hallmark movie to come
- 10:23Speaker 1: and be the HBO Hard Knocks curse. I don't know.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I hope that's not the case. I think I think
- 10:30Speaker 1: it sets it up self up for being a curse
- 10:32Speaker 1: if we're dealing with, Like, if it does happen with
- 10:36Speaker 1: the Bills this year, my feeling is like, look, they
- 10:38Speaker 1: had won the previous two. They it was their time
- 10:42Speaker 1: to lose, right, Like, Yeah, a three piece is hard
- 10:45Speaker 1: to do. Yeah, and we're dealing with basically the same
- 10:48Speaker 1: team like it was, you know, Kelsey and Mahomes those
- 10:51Speaker 1: three years. Football is hard on the body. Like, I'm
- 10:53Speaker 1: not saying those guys aren't stellar athletes, but they aren't aging.
- 10:56Speaker 1: So at some point someone's got to give Welcome to
- 10:59Speaker 1: football talk with Megan and Indy and their new sports
- 11:02Speaker 1: about nothing. You wanted my resolution to like understand football.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I mean, I understand the basics, but there's a lot
- 11:11Speaker 1: of nuance that I don't get. I'll be honest, It's okay,
- 11:14Speaker 1: not that I don't understand. I want to give myself credit.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I'm capable of understanding it. I just don't know it. Well,
- 11:21Speaker 1: you know what you do know baseball? I saw that
- 11:23Speaker 1: you were at a game recently, so fun baseball is
- 11:27Speaker 1: not fun. I am sorry they weren't ten to three.
- 11:30Speaker 1: It was such a damn delight. It will enjoy it
- 11:34Speaker 1: now because you know they're going to lose the rest
- 11:36Speaker 1: of the season. The medium was packed. I'm just ignoring that.
- 11:39Speaker 2: But there are seven dollars tickets. I'm sure it was packed.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I'm sorry. You know where Angels. I know they're actually
- 11:46Speaker 1: not that inexpensive because going into this game they were
- 11:50Speaker 1: in first place. They're not anymore. They might be in second.
- 11:53Speaker 1: My husband was like, hey, look, this is the one
- 11:55Speaker 1: time that's gonna have an all season in exactly first place. Look,
- 11:58Speaker 1: I know it's sometimes hard to be a fan of
- 12:01Speaker 1: some teams. We were looking for new Angels merch good
- 12:08Speaker 1: luck and well we're trying to look like outside of
- 12:12Speaker 1: like the MLB official merch because it sucks. So I
- 12:18Speaker 1: was like looking all over. Sorry about the tangent, y'all.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I mean, tap tap tap, they sometimes people like it. Anyway,
- 12:24Speaker 1: I found this like Angels World Series champ sweatshirt. I'm like,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I can't, I can't. Like it was so cute, but
- 12:30Speaker 1: it literally says like two thousand and two, and I
- 12:31Speaker 1: was like, that's twenty three years ago. I just can't
- 12:34Speaker 1: do it. But this is my final baseball comment and
- 12:36Speaker 1: then I'll move on. I was wearing my David ex
- 12:39Speaker 1: Stein shirt to the game. David Xstein was on the
- 12:43Speaker 1: two thousand and two World champion team, and someone Megan
- 12:47Speaker 1: wishes that she married. I mean, not anymore at the time.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I don't make an all hard time at all be
- 12:55Speaker 1: a baseball wife. Yeah, I would actually hate that life.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I don't pine for David x Stein, just to be clear,
- 13:01Speaker 1: but he was my favorite player on the team. And
- 13:03Speaker 1: a few years ago my husband ordered me an x
- 13:06Speaker 1: Spine shirt on eBay because they don't make like old
- 13:08Speaker 1: player shirts. Some teams do, Angels don't. Anyway, I was
- 13:12Speaker 1: wearing that and some guy walking in mid he was like,
- 13:15Speaker 1: is that an ex Stein shirt? He's like, I love
- 13:17Speaker 1: it makes you want to get my thundersticks out, which
- 13:19Speaker 1: is like a real deep cut a man thundersticks. Those
- 13:22Speaker 1: were fun. And then my husband was wearing a Wally
- 13:25Speaker 1: Joiner shirt, which is like been deeper cut long. But
- 13:31Speaker 1: then this guy walks by and I see the back
- 13:33Speaker 1: of his shirt is Sean Figgins. I was like, he's
- 13:35Speaker 1: one of US. Sean Fingen's also on the two thousand
- 13:37Speaker 1: and two championship. Shawn Figgins t I could have you know,
- 13:43Speaker 1: Sean Figgins. Yes, yes, it all comes back. It'll all
- 13:51Speaker 1: come roaring back to you. Anyway. It was a good
- 13:55Speaker 1: first game to go to because they scored and they didn't.
- 13:59Speaker 1: They were like hitting home runs. Is Mike Trout hurt?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Not yet? And he has his It's my husband was
- 14:09Speaker 1: getting so annoyed because his it's like the sixth game
- 14:12Speaker 1: of the season that we were at, but his batting
- 14:15Speaker 1: average is like one sixty and he comes up and
- 14:18Speaker 1: the whole stadium goes wild. He was like, dude, he
- 14:21Speaker 1: sucks right now. What are you doing? Like you cannot
- 14:24Speaker 1: just like sit in your past glory for all of
- 14:27Speaker 1: these years. Yes, you have the potential to be a
- 14:29Speaker 1: superstar baseball player. The reality is you're always hurt and
- 14:35Speaker 1: sometimes not that great. Yeah, Like, when are you gonna retire? Dude?
- 14:40Speaker 1: I'm just gonna play out the rest of that nine
- 14:42Speaker 1: billion dollar contract. Thanks to Kaitlin. Thank you to Kaitlin.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I am going to jump to Instagram because we do
- 14:49Speaker 1: have one more comment about the upcoming football movie. Okay,
- 14:54Speaker 1: and I'd like to keep it thematic from Wayne. Wayne says, Okay,
- 15:00Speaker 1: I'm not a huge football guy, but why would a
- 15:03Speaker 1: team associated with so much heartbreak like the Buffalo Bills
- 15:07Speaker 1: be the ones to get the next Hallmark movie? Pause?
- 15:11Speaker 1: Heartbreak pun intended. Also, let's get sick because of Hamlin. Yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 1: which I didn't. I didn't get that originally. I don't
- 15:20Speaker 1: think it was intentional either. Okay, go ahead. Also, let's
- 15:24Speaker 1: get some other sports in there. Snowballs and strikeouts a
- 15:27Speaker 1: Dodgers story. Pause. The Dodgers are like, really really good.
- 15:32Speaker 1: The Dodgers can like pound sand as far as I'm
- 15:34Speaker 1: concerned right now. I mean, I hate the Dodgers, but
- 15:36Speaker 1: they're also good, and they have the actual best Angels
- 15:41Speaker 1: player on their team. Once an Angel, always an angel.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Sho heo, Tony, I'm giving little heart fingers right now.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Holiday hat trick, a Boston bruin story, full Court Christmas,
- 15:53Speaker 1: a Miami heat story, and swept off her feet on
- 15:55Speaker 1: a Winter Olympics curling story. We have a whole new
- 15:57Speaker 1: genre here, folks. Oh my god, a curling story that's hilarious.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I could get down with a basketball story. Yeah, I'm
- 16:08Speaker 1: sure you could. Women's basketball. We need change it up, folks. Yeah,
- 16:12Speaker 1: you want to talk about the portal, the college NCAA
- 16:16Speaker 1: portal anyone? No, okay, just me?
- 16:18Speaker 3: No.
- 16:19Speaker 1: I love your excitement for it. Every time it pops up.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I'm like, I have no idea what this is talking about,
- 16:22Speaker 1: but usure seem excited about it and heartbroken the portal.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Are they being traded among colleges or to the pros
- 16:34Speaker 1: between colleges and it's not trading.
- 16:36Speaker 2: It's like basically, if I want to leave my team,
- 16:39Speaker 2: then I'm entering the portal to show the other schools
- 16:42Speaker 2: I am available.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's been record numbers this season. Oh so,
- 16:52Speaker 2: and the portal is ruining college basketball in my opinion, Yeah,
- 16:57Speaker 2: because it's like normally they go and they stay for
- 17:00Speaker 2: four years, Like this is not a this is this kind.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Of new like this moving among teams situation.
- 17:06Speaker 2: And plus there's nil which is essentially money they get paid.
- 17:13Speaker 2: So yeah, it's it's a hot mess. It's a hot mess.
- 17:17Speaker 2: If anybody wants to talk about it with me, you
- 17:19Speaker 2: can email me at Girls Gone Hallmark at gmail dot com.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Are you going to need to start a w NBA, Well,
- 17:27Speaker 1: not just w NBA Women's basketball Hoop Talk with Wendy podcast.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Maybe maybe maybe I'll produce it for you.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I'll be your editor. I mean, hey, we could switch rles.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Remember when we started this podcast and you didn't know
- 17:43Speaker 1: a damn thing about Hollark movies, Like, I don't understand
- 17:50Speaker 1: what is happening. You are hilarious. We're going to take
- 17:54Speaker 1: a quick break and come back with another email. Let's
- 18:04Speaker 1: move on to our next email. Okay. This email is
- 18:07Speaker 1: from Aera who says, just side out. Aara sent us
- 18:11Speaker 1: a dam on Instagram and she was like, I tried
- 18:13Speaker 1: to damn it, it was too long. I had to
- 18:14Speaker 1: go to an email. The title of the email is
- 18:17Speaker 1: thoughts on Sherry's Second Act, which is, of course, the
- 18:20Speaker 1: second movie in the Hearts Around the Table series, currently
- 18:24Speaker 1: airing on Homewark Channel, available next day on Homewark Plus.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I've got lots of thoughts on the second Hearts Around
- 18:32Speaker 1: the Table? Am I going in? Saying that the timeframe
- 18:34Speaker 1: makes no sense. This movie opens with the siblings surprising
- 18:38Speaker 1: Sherry at the airport with welcome home signs, making it
- 18:41Speaker 1: seem like she is just arriving home after a long
- 18:43Speaker 1: stretch of time, but she was in the entire first movie.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I thought maybe the movies were jumping around the timeframe,
- 18:50Speaker 1: but from context clues such as Rory's advancement on the
- 18:53Speaker 1: track team, it seems to have been a couple weeks
- 18:55Speaker 1: at most. With that being said, I still did enjoy
- 18:58Speaker 1: the film. Now can we talk with that AI generated
- 19:01Speaker 1: cat portrait at the antique shop? Pause? I gotta see
- 19:05Speaker 1: the AI generated the cat portrait. So funny. And when
- 19:11Speaker 1: Sherry handed over that huge cat portrait to Kiki and
- 19:14Speaker 1: she hung it in her tiny little food truck, I
- 19:17Speaker 1: was cracking up. I got to say, as someone who's
- 19:19Speaker 1: not seen one second of these movies, I'm loving this description.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Oh boy, I'm surprised it even fits inside. My final
- 19:30Speaker 1: thoughts is in regards to Sherry realizing that one of
- 19:33Speaker 1: Evan's grandmother's paintings has been hanging in her foster mother's
- 19:38Speaker 1: house for years. I love how she just takes it
- 19:41Speaker 1: off the wall and hands it straight to Evan, no
- 19:44Speaker 1: second thoughts. Hope mom wasn't too attached to it. Another
- 19:48Speaker 1: laugh out loud moment for me. Overall, I'm loving these
- 19:51Speaker 1: movies and all the characters so far. Eric Closest by
- 19:55Speaker 1: saying sorry for the long one. Please do not apologize.
- 19:57Speaker 1: We love your emails, keep them coming. Thank you, Era.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Well, I have some thoughts.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:08Speaker 2: In our Facebook group Girls on Hallmark, come join if
- 20:11Speaker 2: you're not part of it. It's been kind of all
- 20:14Speaker 2: over the place the opinions about these movies.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Indeed, I just revisited a thread about these movies this morning.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I saw someone wrote lame movies.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Do you want to make an announcement? We are reviewing
- 20:31Speaker 1: these movies next month. Look, first of all, May on
- 20:38Speaker 1: Hallmark is a hot mess.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I don't know what they're doing over there, and they're
- 20:42Speaker 2: really messing with what I.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Just said a really bad word and I have to
- 20:46Speaker 1: bleep it out.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Oh, but it is a hot mess over there. I
- 20:49Speaker 2: don't know what they're doing. They're messing with our schedule.
- 20:52Speaker 2: So we are.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Pivoting and making our own schedule, which I'm actually really
- 20:57Speaker 1: excited about. But we have received so many comments and
- 21:01Speaker 1: messages and dms about the Hearts around the Tables movies
- 21:04Speaker 1: that we did not review simply because of travel schedules.
- 21:09Speaker 1: So apparently we're adding this to our May review schedule. Yeah,
- 21:13Speaker 1: I mean, I'm just gonna say that it's happening for
- 21:15Speaker 1: us and not to us, because at least it gave
- 21:17Speaker 1: us something to do in May. And very soon we
- 21:19Speaker 1: will be announcing a new series that we're launching in
- 21:22Speaker 1: May that I'm actually really excited about. Actually two new series.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I believe one launches end of this month and one
- 21:30Speaker 1: launch is in May. Yeah, I'm excited too. We got
- 21:33Speaker 1: some fun stuff coming to the podcast folks, so we
- 21:37Speaker 1: are thoughts on the Hearts around the Table. Movies will
- 21:40Speaker 1: be coming next month, a little bit delayed, but you
- 21:44Speaker 1: can listen in.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, I have the feelings like the
- 21:48Speaker 2: Royal movie feelings.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Oh I don't. I don't want to do it. Yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 1: I know, I I know. I regretted reread all of
- 22:00Speaker 1: the comments about the movies because I think that these
- 22:02Speaker 1: movies do have a lot of people who enjoy them.
- 22:07Speaker 1: But I don't think we're going to be like, Wow,
- 22:10Speaker 1: look at this revolutionary movie made by Hallmark, because I'm
- 22:12Speaker 1: pretty sure they were acquired. Were they acquired? Someone in
- 22:17Speaker 1: the Facebook group said a movie not made by Homemark
- 22:21Speaker 1: basically has the stink of an acquisition all over it.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Those were their exact words.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you May's calendar has an acquisition in
- 22:31Speaker 2: it as well, So buckle up, friends, all right, you
- 22:39Speaker 2: want me to hit this last.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Email from our girl, Paula, longtime listener. Paula writes two emails.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Actually, the first one says the title is One Summer Now.
- 22:51Speaker 2: If you have not watched One Summer and or listen
- 22:55Speaker 2: to our review of it, stop right now go watch
- 22:58Speaker 2: that movie.
- 22:59Speaker 1: It's really good.
- 23:00Speaker 2: She writes, once again, a great review. Thank you for
- 23:04Speaker 2: including this in your schedule. I was a bit anxious,
- 23:06Speaker 2: but Wendy's reassurance did help.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Backstory, I messaged Paula after she suggested we watched and
- 23:16Speaker 1: reviewed this movie. I watched it and I was like,
- 23:18Speaker 1: you're all good, Paula. There's nothing to worry about you
- 23:21Speaker 1: because it's like her favorite anyway. Her email goes on
- 23:25Speaker 1: to say, of course I agree with the review. See
- 23:27Speaker 1: we can agree. I agree with your wishes too. They
- 23:31Speaker 1: did the best you could expect with the storm, and
- 23:34Speaker 1: you needed to have that scene Jenna helping Jack save
- 23:37Speaker 1: Mickey by lighting Lizzie's lighthouse, such great symbolism. Then the
- 23:43Speaker 1: peaceful scene on the beach, it was great.
- 23:47Speaker 2: If I could make it personal, I mentioned the other
- 23:50Speaker 2: night that I watched it again and of course cried.
- 23:53Speaker 2: This week is the anniversary of my wife's death, and
- 23:56Speaker 2: this is the most honest portrayal of a widowed parent
- 23:59Speaker 2: and their children. The scenes where Jack is trying to
- 24:02Speaker 2: make a connection with Lizzie but is drawn back by
- 24:04Speaker 2: his children's needs are so well done. I always remember
- 24:08Speaker 2: that my kids lost their mother, and I still wonder
- 24:11Speaker 2: if I did enough. Two of mine were twelve and fourteen.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Paula goes on to write two things I forgot. Of
- 24:18Speaker 2: course I knew it wasn't personal. Too many movies, too
- 24:20Speaker 2: little time. We're trying to do a Boston accent with
- 24:23Speaker 2: the Stunna. It sounded wicked good. Thanks again, Paul's referring
- 24:28Speaker 2: to me.
- 24:30Speaker 1: You something you said, yeah, and so this movie was
- 24:34Speaker 1: a stunner. In that movie, it wasn't yeah, it was intentional. Look, oh,
- 24:38Speaker 1: it was look at you. Every once in a while,
- 24:43Speaker 1: those two brain cells connect.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Me.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Are you talking about my brain cells connected?
- 24:49Speaker 1: No, I'm talking about me, am I making intentional choice? Wow? Suh. Well,
- 24:57Speaker 1: I'm so glad that we got the Paula stamp of
- 25:00Speaker 1: approval on that review, and I do appreciate you noticing
- 25:08Speaker 1: it was a stunner, the stunna. All right, friends, this
- 25:12Speaker 1: was so much fun that sounded sarcastic, it wasn't. I
- 25:18Speaker 1: love these episodes. Thank you for your emails, Girls Conhollmark
- 25:21Speaker 1: at gmail dot com. And hey, if you love this podcast,

- 25:34Speaker 1: use another fancy schmancy app, hop on over to the
- 25:37Speaker 1: Apple podcast app and leave a five star rating and

- 25:42Speaker 1: over there. We super appreciate it.
- 25:46Speaker 3: We're girls con Homemark, a raal jam podcast and we'll see.
- 26:00Speaker 1: All right friends. Before we go, just a quick heads up,
