- 0:00SPEAKER_00: 1 Peter 4 changed lives.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Christ suffered while he was in his body, so you should strengthen yourself with the same kind of thinking that Christ had.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: The one who accepts suffering in this life has clearly decided to stop sinning.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Strengthen yourselves so that you will live your lives here on earth doing what God wants, not the evil things that people want to do.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: In the past you wasted too much time doing what those who don't like God or know God like to do.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: You were living immoral lives, doing the evil things you wanted to do.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: You were always getting drunk, having wild parties, and doing shameful things in your worship of idols.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Now those friends think it is strange that you no longer join them in all the wild and wasteful things that they do.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: And so they say bad things about you, but they will have to face God to explain what they have done.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: He is the one who will judge very soon.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Those who are still living and those who have died.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Some were told the good news before they died.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: They were criticized by others in their life here on earth, but it was God's plan that they hear the good news so that they could have a new life through the Spirit.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Be good managers of God's gifts.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: The time is near when all things will end.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So keep your minds clear and control yourselves.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: This will help you in your prayers.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Most important of all, love each other deeply because love makes you willing to forgive many sins.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Open your homes to each other and share your food without complaining.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: God has shown you his grace in many different ways, so be good servants and use whatever gift He has given you in a way that will best serve each other.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: If your gift is speaking, your words should be like the words from God.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: If your gift is serving, then you should serve with the strength that God gives.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Then it is God who will be praised in everything through Jesus Christ.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Power and glory belong to him for ever and ever.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: Suffering as a follower of Christ.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: My friends, don't be surprised at the painful things that you are now suffering which are testing your faith.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Don't think that something strange is happening to you, but you should be happy that you are sharing in Christ's sufferings.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: You will be happy and full of joy when Christ shows his glory.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: When people say bad things to you because you follow Christ, consider it a blessing.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: When that happens, it shows that God's spirit, the spirit of glory, is with you.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: You may suffer, but don't let it be because you murder, steal, make trouble, or try to control other people's lives.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: But if you suffer because you are a Christ follower, don't be ashamed.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: You should praise God for that name.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: It is time for judging to begin.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: That judging will begin with God's family.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: If it begins with us, then what will happen to those who don't accept the good news of God?
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: If it is hard for even a good person to be saved, what will happen to the one who is against God and full of sin?
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Proverbs 11, verse 31, Greek version.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: So if God wants you to suffer, you should trust your lives to Him.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: He is the one who made you, and you can trust Him.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: So continue to do good.
