- The DECAF Network: Mm-hmm. Hey, it's Dexter from Reboot Player One and the checkpoint. And today's question is What would make me excited to get out of bed again? What would make me excited to get out of bed again? ⁓ that's an easy question to answer. At least it is for me. What would get me excited? Well, ⁓ curiosity, ⁓ opportunity as well. ⁓ I recorded a video a couple of days ago about the the yin and yang of life. And I've always been a person that that yearns for a routine. ⁓ so getting up in the morning, I have a pretty set routine of things that I do. And that ⁓ that kicks me off for the rest of the day. So the yang to that is curiosity. It's opportunity. It's having a new day and being excited about ⁓ trying something different, about about thinking of ideas and actually working towards them. ⁓ I find this exciting recording videos, trying to build a checkpoint community, ⁓ the Reboot Player One course, that that gives me a lot of excitement. So if I was to answer it in a single word, it really would be opportunity. Now ⁓ one of my one of my morning routines is journaling. I've been doing it for a ton of years now. And as part of my journal, there's a a gratitude component, as there is with most kind of journals. You know, people say to you to to start a gratitude journal. And I've been doing it for pretty much the same time that I started doing it. And ⁓ and it's really helped me. So as part of my journal, there is a a gratitude component of which You know, there's just three numbers there, three things that I'm grateful for. And more often than not, it's usually the same thing unless something very specific has happened, you know, during the course of the previous day, and I might actually put that down. ⁓ but one of the things that comes up constantly is opportunity. I'm grateful for ⁓ for the opportunities that I have, for the opportunities that I can create, to have the opportunity to pursue something, to ⁓ try ⁓ ideas out, to to fail at those ideas, to you know, to even have the opportunity to think about them. I was talking to a friend about this, funnily enough, just this morning. And we were talking about how lucky we are in the positions that we're in to be able to try different things. You know, both of us are small business owners. ⁓ and and again, nothing against if you're an employee, but you know, just talking about our circumstances, we are we are lucky enough. We have We are lucky enough to have the opportunity to try different things in our business. Now, whether or not they work, it's it's really beside the point. But that opportunity there is what gets me excited to get out of bed. a new day. You know, it's there's there's ways that I can improve myself, improve my business. There are ways that I can learn. There's just so many things that ⁓ I find excitement in to get me out of bed. On top of that as well, it's you know, the the mornings are a place where ideas can be born, where excitement can be had, where opportunities lie. You know, I've just basically mentioned all of that. But at the same time it's also it's also the start of a new day that could have ended a pretty bad day or a pretty bad week. You know, there's I don't think there's anything better than having a really good night's sleep after having a pretty bad day. You know, you get some time to relax, some time to rest if you can sleep, obviously. ⁓ but the next day after the sorry, the next morning after a particularly bad day can be one that gives you a bit more headspace, ⁓ might give you a better idea, might give you a better way to think about things. You know, what's the saying that everybody says when you're you're trying to make a decision, you know, sleep on it kind of thing. It's ⁓ it's super important and it and it helps me. In fact, I I ⁓ I handle a lot of things in that way. sickness, things that I can't make a decision on at the time. I'll just go to sleep. Doesn't matter what time it is. ⁓ could be seven o'clock in the evening, could be even earlier than that. If there's a pressing decision and I I just can't get my head around it and it's to the point where I'm I'm kind of frustrated with it. I'm I could be a little bit angry. I'll just go to bed. Because I know that trying to think about it in any capacity in the state that I'm in is isn't just gonna work. It's it's gonna be worse. So sleeping on it and waking up the next day ⁓ usually solves a lot of things. You know, it it might not be the specific answer that I get. But it gives me enough time to to relax and then wake up with a fresh set of eyes, with maybe some new ideas, with a little bit more clarity with the particular problem. So for me, there are a lot of things to get excited about and to get me out of bed. So if you're struggling with with that sort of stuff, just take a look at it as an opportunity, you know. One of the comments that I actually said to my friend this morning is ⁓ she said it was going to be a good week. I said, Well, every week's a good week. Every day's a good day. It just depends on how you look at it. You know, you woke up this morning. ⁓ unfortunately, some people didn't. and so from that point of view, it's a good day. So if you have questions like these that you would like to discuss a little bit further, let me know. We do this every Wednesday. Tc.rebootplayer1.com is where you can find all of the details. I'm Dexter, and I will see you on the next question. Bye. ⁓
