0:25
Cassandra: Good day out there to all of my listeners, and I'd like to welcome you to Is Your Way in Your Way.
0:31
Cassandra: And for some of you, or some of my new listeners, that's the title of my book.
0:36
Cassandra: And that motivated me to have this podcast titled, Is Your Way in Your Way?
0:41
Cassandra: My name is Cassandra Crawley Mayo, and I am uh what I would call a transformational lifestyle mentor that empowers those women who are stuck, um look good on the outside, but on the inside, there's you just don't have it, you know, but you don't want anybody to know.
1:09
Cassandra: Uh you're burned out, um, you're doubting yourself, you have all these limiting beliefs, and it's just a lot.
1:17
Cassandra: So, what I do is once I empower these purpose-driven women, I empower you to start living your best life on your terms.
1:27
Cassandra: And we talk about topics related to self-improvement.
1:32
Cassandra: Also, this will enable you to do some self-reflection, to kind of look back over your life and to see just some things that that sounds familiar.
1:41
Cassandra: And not only sounds familiar, but actually, you are probably in the shoes of my guests or been in my shoes.
1:50
Cassandra: And so today I'd like to share with you what our topic is about.
1:55
Cassandra: It's second act strategies.
1:59
Cassandra: Wow.
2:01
Cassandra: Why the best is yet to come.
2:04
Cassandra: So let me ask you before I bring Honor on, have you ever had the gut feeling you couldn't explain, but when you followed it, everything just seemed to fall into place.
2:17
Cassandra: What if that inner voice wasn't random, but your most powerful tool for living a life of clarity and courage?
2:26
Cassandra: So today we're gonna be talking to Anna Quigley, an expert in the science and soul of intuition.
2:33
Cassandra: She's going to show us how tuning into the inner guidance can help us to navigate uncertainty, rewrite our stories, and step boldly into what's next.
2:44
Cassandra: So get ready because this episode is going to make you rethink how you make decisions and how you trust.
2:51
Cassandra: And I tell you, something that uh Anna and I have in common is we both reinforce that living with clarity, confidence, and purpose is not only possible, but also it's never too late to begin.
3:06
Cassandra: Let's welcome Anna Quigley.
3:09
Cassandra: Hello, Anna.
3:10
Cassandra: How are you today?
3:11
Cassandra: I'm fantastic.
3:12
Cassandra: Thanks, Cassandra.
3:14
Cassandra: Yeah, wow.
3:15
Cassandra: It's so good to have you on my show today.
3:17
Cassandra: Yeah, I would like to read a little bit of your bio because many of my listeners always want to know what qualifies them to tell me this.
3:29
Cassandra: So what qualifies them to talk about second-act strategies and why the best is yet to come.
3:35
Cassandra: So Anna is a teacher of intuition who blends 30 plus years of practice with neuroscience, quantum mind body techniques, and learned experience.
3:48
Cassandra: She helps women, especially in midlife and beyond, trust their inner guidance, re-engineer their thinking, and step into clarity, confidence, and courage.
3:59
Cassandra: With humor, relatable stories, and practical tools, she shows women how to recognize intuitive signals and manifest the life they dream of.
4:10
Cassandra: Her message is simple, but yet it's very powerful.
4:13
Cassandra: It's never too late to trust yourself and create what's next.
4:19
Cassandra: Now, there are some people, have you let me ask you this?
4:23
Cassandra: Have you ever heard follow your intuition?
4:26
Cassandra: Um for example, um just for my my listeners, I was on, and I still am uh a block captain, you know, for safety.
4:39
Cassandra: And when we have meetings and trainings with police officers and we're talking about certain things, they always say, follow your intuition.
4:48
Cassandra: If something doesn't look right, go with it, right?
4:52
Cassandra: So, so Anna, when you were growing up, was there anything that motivated you to do the work that you're currently doing?
5:02
Anna: Oh, I was a muck when I was a kid.
5:05
Anna: I, you know, a good kid, but I I had no confidence whatsoever.
5:11
Anna: And I was so fearful of making a decision.
5:15
Anna: Um, because what if I was the wrong one?
5:17
Anna: I I couldn't trust what I was thinking and what I was feeling.
5:23
Anna: And I, you know, I had the misguided thought that, oh, okay, if I make this decision, then that's it.
5:30
Anna: I am stuck on that path for the rest of my life.
5:33
Anna: And what if it's the wrong one?
5:36
Anna: So I was paralyzed, I truly was paralyzed for a long time and just had no faith and no trust in myself.
5:45
Anna: So that was a pretty big catalyst.
5:47
Anna: And when I started really spiritual exploration and studying different philosophies and different religions, and I learned that that isn't true, that we have within us a guidance system, this innate intuition that we are all born with, we all have it.
6:09
Anna: Some don't have it more than others, some use it more than others.
6:14
Anna: And I started to explore that.
6:17
Anna: And I thought, okay, I don't know.
6:19
Anna: You know, I'm a I was a little bit of a skeptic back in those days, no more.
6:22
Anna: But I doubt, you know, I thought let's let's test this, you know.
6:29
Anna: I want to make sure.
6:29
Anna: I'm a little bit of a science nerd too, so I wanted to see is this just woo-woo or is this real?
6:36
Cassandra: Yeah.
6:36
Anna: And I gave myself a little test.
6:38
Anna: Can I can I share quickly what this was?
6:40
Anna: Absolutely, sure.
6:41
Anna: Um I I love clothes and fashion.
6:45
Anna: I thought, okay, I need this.
6:46
Anna: This belt was in style, particular belt.
6:48
Anna: I want that.
6:49
Anna: So I'm okay.
6:49
Anna: Let's see what this intuition thing is.
6:52
Anna: And I'm just like, all right, I'm sure they were popular.
6:56
Anna: Where do I go?
6:57
Anna: I don't want to run all over town.
6:58
Anna: Where do I go?
6:59
Anna: Where can I find this?
7:00
Anna: And that little inner voice pointed me to a shop about 20 minutes across town that I knew, and they had a ton of accessories.
7:09
Anna: And I thought, if anybody has them, they're gonna have them.
7:12
Anna: So logically it made sense too.
7:14
Anna: But I thought, okay, I'm gonna hit every boutique between here and there and just see.
7:20
Anna: And I had a picture of exactly what I wanted.
7:22
Anna: Here's the color I wanted.
7:23
Anna: I mean, it was very specific, and nobody, nobody had it.
7:27
Anna: And I finally got to the store across town, and I thought, okay, yeah, here's the big test.
7:32
Anna: They didn't have it, they didn't have it.
7:35
Anna: And I'm like, okay, well, I'm gonna look again because you know, sometimes things are hidden.
7:42
Anna: I'm gonna do a more thorough stuff.
7:43
Anna: Right.
7:43
Anna: You know, it was they didn't have it, they didn't have it.
7:46
Anna: So I thought, all right, well, you know, this was a test.
7:49
Anna: You're you're an ex you're an explorer, and you wanted to see if this was legitimate.
7:53
Anna: And I started walking out the door, and as I got to the counter, I the little voice again said, just ask.
8:02
Cassandra: Yeah, okay.
8:03
Anna: What?
8:03
Anna: Why?
8:04
Anna: I know what they're gonna say.
8:05
Anna: They're gonna say if it's not on the floor, we don't have it, right?
8:08
Anna: That's the typical response.
8:10
Anna: And I took another step out the door, and I the voice again, just ask, just ask.
8:16
Anna: Okay, this is a test.
8:18
Anna: Let's take the test to the full extent.
8:21
Anna: I know the answer already, you know.
8:23
Anna: I mean, there was not gonna be any convincing me.
8:25
Anna: And I walked up to the counter, showed the person at the counter, the picture, the color, everything I wanted.
8:30
Anna: She goes, Oh, yeah, that came in this morning.
8:33
Anna: We just haven't had a chance to put it out yet.
8:35
Anna: Oh, wow.
8:36
Anna: And I was like, okay, there may be something to this after all.
8:41
Anna: I was hooked.
8:42
Anna: I was hooked.
8:43
Anna: So I started, um, I started working with my intuition.
8:47
Anna: I started listening, I started practicing.
8:51
Anna: Okay, you know, when I wasn't sure about something, I started, I let myself get quiet and ask my internal self, you know, okay, what's going on here?
9:03
Anna: Where should I go?
9:04
Anna: What what should I do?
9:05
Anna: And I started, it was a process.
9:07
Anna: I started building confidence in my decisions because it wasn't just my decision.
9:14
Anna: I I had trust in that divine guidance, if you will, that knowing that, okay, um, you know, you can help me find them for heaven's sakes, you know.
9:27
Anna: But I also learned in the universe, there's there's no big, there's no small.
9:31
Anna: It's it's the same.
9:32
Anna: You ask for a you know, a car, you ask for a you know, a pencil, it's the same, it doesn't matter.
9:38
Anna: Right, it's the energy that we put into it, it's the clarity that we put into the request.
9:46
Anna: So, you know, as as women, I don't know, most women, I think, and I certainly was when I grew up, you don't ask for things.
9:54
Anna: I was literally trying, you don't ask for things.
9:57
Anna: You're the child, we will give you, you don't ask.
10:00
Anna: Okay.
10:01
Anna: And that was a big limitation that I had to get over because that's how guidance you ask.
10:07
Anna: You just ask.
10:08
Anna: I mean, God always says yes.
10:10
Anna: It may not be the exact answer you expected, but it's always moving you forward.
10:16
Anna: So yeah, you it's I've learned just ask, be clear about what you want, be specific.
10:22
Anna: Oh my gosh, I have a mentor, um, a teacher at one point who uh share her story.
10:30
Anna: Uh she said you wouldn't go, you wouldn't, well, and I'll use Amazon now.
10:33
Anna: She says, You wouldn't just call up Amazon or type in you know your Amazon app and say, Yeah, just send me something you think I'd like.
10:41
Anna: Uh-huh.
10:42
Anna: You're specific.
10:44
Anna: Yeah, I want this item and I want it in this color, and I want this size, and I want this detail.
10:50
Anna: And I no, that's not good enough.
10:52
Anna: As specific as we are when we're shopping on Amazon or wherever.
10:57
Cassandra: Be specific.
10:58
Anna: We need to be that specific when we're asking our guidance and our you know, our higher power for that.
11:03
Cassandra: Right, right.
11:04
Anna: And so often we we just like uh you know, we kind of do come in.
11:08
Anna: Well, you know, bring me whatever you think I should have.
11:11
Anna: It's like we get to ask.
11:13
Cassandra: Exactly.
11:14
Cassandra: Isn't it amazing?
11:16
Cassandra: Um our childhood, how it plays a significant role as we grow up into adulthood, and you know, it's like all of that stuff was ingrained in our subconscious, I guess I can call it.
11:33
Cassandra: Yeah, how you know what well I can't ask.
11:36
Cassandra: So, Anna, I'm curious.
11:39
Cassandra: When in your life or your journey did you feel an inkling that there was something more for you?
11:47
Cassandra: Because you see growing up you doubted, and you know, you had some challenges, but somewhere you you you felt something was there was something more for you.
11:57
Cassandra: What wouldn't when in your life or journey did you find that out?
12:02
Anna: It's been it's been calling to me for years, for for years, but it started well, it's really in college because you know my my my world opened up.
12:14
Anna: It wasn't just you know the family environment.
12:17
Anna: You know, I I had new experiences, I took classes, I studied, I got to explore, learn more, and and see possibilities that we and the family environment was great, and I'm grateful for those um lessons, if you will, because they've served me in this way in really recognizing that yes, I can ask for things.
12:39
Anna: It's not only not only okay, it's what we need to be doing.
12:44
Anna: It's it's our life.
12:46
Anna: We're the we're driving the the car, you know, really.
12:50
Cassandra: Right.
12:51
Anna: You know, the universe supplies the the fuel and the and the map, but but we're driving.
12:56
Anna: Um it it came along kind of gradually.
13:00
Anna: I remember, oh gosh, probably in my late 20s, just in tears one one evening, just like uh this overwhelming feeling that there was something.
13:13
Anna: What am I here to do?
13:15
Anna: I know there's something.
13:16
Anna: It had been bubbling, and I and I still get emotional thinking about that because it's so powerful, it's undeniable, absolutely undeniable.
13:27
Anna: And I'm like, okay, I don't know what it is, but I've been a speaker, but it has been subtly showing up and showing up and showing up.
13:38
Anna: It's been living in the background of my needing to have a job and take care of the house and have relationships and family things, you know, all of life, all of the things that we go through in life.
13:51
Anna: It's been subtly there and it's bubbled up.
13:54
Anna: And and then I start working on it, and it bubbled up again.
13:58
Anna: And then life got busy and I got sidetracked.
14:01
Anna: And a couple of years ago, it was like a major shift, leaving a job that I had really loved for a long time.
14:12
Anna: But it was it was definitely time.
14:14
Anna: There were a lot of things happening that was helping me move, okay, encouraging me to get out, including help, started getting the stress of feelings, you know, stuck and feeling like you know, burnout, literally burnout, with the job.
14:33
Anna: And my doctor literally was writing me prescription.
14:37
Anna: You need to take a leave.
14:39
Anna: I said, That's not gonna make a difference.
14:42
Cassandra: Yeah, it came to that.
14:43
Cassandra: It came to your doctor saying, Yeah, it's and I still I still ignored her.
14:48
Anna: And I said, I can't do that, I can't, you know, and it just kept building until it was finally, it was like, no, I had had a health adventure, a little health adventure a few years earlier.
15:20
Cassandra: Okay.
15:21
Anna: And um, I'm like, yeah, I'm not doing that again.
15:24
Anna: I'm not doing that again.
15:25
Anna: So I finally stepped away and took some time, and it's like, what are you here for?
15:30
Anna: And it's like, you know what you're here for, you've known for 30 years.
15:34
Anna: Wow.
15:37
Cassandra: So, but but when I read your bio, it said that you were a teacher of intuition who blends 30 plus years of practice, mind-body techniques and lived experiences.
15:49
Cassandra: So for 30 years, are you still doing what you were doing, or are you doing it in a different capacity?
15:57
Anna: I'm doing it in a different capacity.
15:59
Anna: Um like you, I'm working as a transformational mentor and speaker, sharing the tools that I've used.
16:07
Anna: And I have I've I have taught these along the way to various groups that I've been in and church organizations and you know, mentored people along the way on how to use these tools and how to transition.
16:20
Anna: And uh, but still, you know, still always learning.
16:25
Anna: But yeah, at this point, I it's full time.
16:28
Anna: I I made the commitment after the last, you know, kind of burnout.
16:33
Anna: It's like, oh, how you know, uh and and uh interestingly, about four years, five years before that, I had made the commitment, okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna start working on this, finding purpose.
16:45
Anna: How do people find their purpose?
16:46
Anna: I love bios.
16:47
Anna: So I've always been, okay, how did you how did you get successful?
16:50
Anna: How did you do this?
16:51
Anna: So I you know, just devour biographies and I started interviewing women on how did you find your purpose?
16:59
Anna: Well, intuition had something to do with every single one of them.
17:02
Cassandra: Well, how did how did you go about when you said interview?
17:05
Cassandra: How did you select those women?
17:07
Cassandra: Are these women you knew had a purpose, or are you trying to find out did they have a purpose?
17:12
Anna: Well, but women that I knew were successful.
17:14
Anna: Um, I started, of course, with a friend, and then the friend referred me to, oh, you've got to talk to this person, and they have a great story, and oh yeah, this happened to me.
17:24
Anna: So it was kind of like, oh yeah, I want to share my story.
17:27
Anna: And so it started with with one, and how did how did that happen for her?
17:32
Anna: And so, and so I was gathering these wonderful stories, and then my career took went into another gear, and it was, you know, it was single and taking care of a house and needing to make a living, and you know, my job got bigger and I got to travel, which is one of my passions, and I it kind of took over.
17:51
Anna: Um, it kind of took over.
17:53
Cassandra: About how many how many women did you interview about?
17:57
Anna: Well, only about a dozen again because then we kind of went into I I had then my little health adventure kicked in, and um I had I had cancer when I'm totally, totally clean and free now.
18:09
Anna: But um, you know, that took about a year and a half, and then I went into COVID.
18:13
Anna: Then we had COVID.
18:15
Anna: So, you know, life this is you know, we're riding a wave of life, right?
18:19
Anna: That's right.
18:20
Cassandra: Absolutely.
18:21
Anna: Life experiences, so yeah, yeah.
18:24
Anna: Uh a little detour on that, but it didn't go away.
18:28
Cassandra: Yeah, I call them life interruption.
18:30
Cassandra: Stuff does happen.
18:32
Cassandra: Yeah.
18:32
Cassandra: When you were interviewing people, what was the common thread that you found?
18:40
Cassandra: How they figured out what their purpose was?
18:43
Anna: It was listening to their intuition, listening to finally listening to and following.
18:49
Anna: It's not just hearing it.
18:51
Anna: You you know, we have to take action on the guidance that we're given um into things.
18:56
Anna: For one, it was as simple as, oh, uh there was something that's that she saw uh um her hairdresser doing.
19:06
Anna: She goes, Oh, that's something just lit up, and and there's an energy shift.
19:13
Anna: Yeah, something lit up, and she goes, Well, that's kind of interesting.
19:17
Anna: I kind of like that.
19:18
Anna: That's a sculpture class.
19:19
Anna: And she had worked with anatomy medical devices, so it wasn't totally detached.
19:24
Anna: But she goes, Well, you want to come?
19:26
Anna: I can see if the you know professor will let you in.
19:29
Anna: And she went in and she had a finished product the first session.
19:34
Anna: Nobody does that, and she just kept going, she just kept going, and she's like world-class, well, you know, well-known sculptor now.
19:43
Anna: And she listened, she she recognized that that energy burst.
19:50
Anna: That you know, even when I was talking earlier about when this first started coming to me, I I started welling up.
19:59
Anna: I the emotions started coming and the energy started rising.
20:03
Anna: Um that that's that's part of it.
20:06
Anna: Or, you know, making a choice to go one place, even though your intuition said don't.
20:13
Anna: Some had some had negative experiences.
20:17
Anna: One one um uh man that I've that I've talked to and worked with, he knew he he was he'd been working on a volunteer project and everything was great, and there was a big party afterwards, but he was already home, he was tired, he was doing that, and he's like, I'm not, I'm I'm good, I'm complete.
20:36
Anna: And they were oh come on, come on, you know, come on, we really want you come home, you know, and against against what he knew.
20:44
Anna: And and he admits that fully goes, I knew I shouldn't go, but he got on his motorcycle, his Harley, and he ended up in a ditch for eight hours.
20:54
Anna: Oh never got to the event, and he said, I knew I knew better, but I didn't listen.
20:59
Anna: But he did it anyway, but he went anyway, and it's right, especially when we're younger.
21:04
Anna: I think it's easy to just okay.
21:07
Anna: Well, no, I'm supposed to do this, or particularly in a job, it's like ah, something doesn't feel right, but kind of go with it, and the results aren't necessarily what what you would have been ideal.
21:20
Cassandra: Wow, wow.
21:21
Cassandra: Um, so let me I I want to understand.
21:25
Cassandra: Um, where were you?
21:28
Cassandra: What were you doing prior to helping women trust their inner guidance?
21:33
Cassandra: What were you doing prior to that?
21:36
Anna: I was a marketing manager.
21:37
Cassandra: Okay.
21:39
Anna: I've been in sales and operations in marketing.
21:42
Anna: Okay.
21:43
Cassandra: Okay.
21:43
Cassandra: Right.
21:45
Cassandra: And then it's a time that you said, um, this I I first of all, it sounded like you were burning out, therefore stress that created some health issues.
21:55
Cassandra: Yeah, and so when you transitioned out of that to do what you are now called to do, what was that transition like?
22:05
Anna: Oh, uh, it was bumpy.
22:06
Anna: It was bumpy.
22:07
Anna: It was not because I waited too long.
22:10
Anna: I I hadn't been listening.
22:13
Anna: I I again, and even with the doctor saying you need to at least take some time, you need to step away.
22:19
Anna: I was like, no, no, no, no, I can't do it.
22:21
Anna: I'm responsible.
22:21
Anna: I have people, you know, and and I loved most of the job, but it's but the universe was bringing things up and turning things in.
22:30
Anna: It was just like, come on, get out the door.
22:32
Anna: You know, the saying it's like you it whispers and then it yells, and then it brings out the bat.
22:37
Anna: Well, the bat came out because I wasn't paying attention, and I was burnt out, and it just was showing in every part.
22:46
Anna: Of my body, and it was like, why are you fighting this?
22:49
Anna: Um, so I I finally listened, and it was it was emotional, it was difficult.
22:57
Anna: Um, I don't have any regrets.
23:00
Anna: I know it was one of the best things I've ever done for myself because it was for my betterment, it was for myself.
23:08
Anna: I stopped worrying about everybody else, which is very selfish, seeming, but it's it's honest, it's authentic.
23:16
Anna: And it was like, who's you know, we do that as women, right?
23:21
Anna: We we put by nature we're caregivers.
23:24
Anna: We put other people first and we take care of then.
23:27
Anna: If I have time, then I take care of myself.
23:29
Cassandra: Absolutely.
23:29
Anna: So it it felt, you know, it can feel a little awkward to say, well, wait, no, no, no.
23:34
Anna: This this is I have to do this for me.
23:37
Anna: And and I did.
23:39
Anna: I okay, right.
23:41
Cassandra: So you found your purpose.
23:43
Cassandra: So I'm hearing a couple things.
23:45
Cassandra: Number one, you interviewed women to in order to see how they found their purpose, right?
23:52
Cassandra: And then from that, you heard some stories that resonated with you.
23:57
Cassandra: Then when you transitioned, how did you know that what you were doing was your purpose?
24:07
Cassandra: Tell us, explain emotionally what was going on when you knew, because my listeners, many of them are trying to figure out their purpose.
24:16
Cassandra: I think they found out their purpose, but I know purpose can change depending on life instances or activity or whatever.
24:26
Cassandra: But what about it had you make that decision?
24:31
Cassandra: So, okay, this is it.
24:33
Cassandra: What was that behavior like?
24:35
Cassandra: What was that emotion?
24:37
Anna: As I mentioned, it this had been bubbling up in my life for a long time when I was in my 30s.
24:44
Anna: I even had the name for the book on purpose.
24:48
Anna: On purpose, and I like, oh yeah, that's gonna be the book.
24:52
Anna: And I've had ideas for this, but then again, you know, making a living, doing the life wave and and everything.
25:00
Anna: So I spent time looking back.
25:04
Anna: I I knew after interviewing people that that was something that I really wanted to continue with.
25:10
Anna: But I took I took some time, I took a fair amount of time.
25:14
Anna: And all right, let's look back, you know, self-assessment.
25:18
Anna: There's threads, and I fully believe this as far back as high school at least, and my brother back to when he was like seven years old, he knew what he wanted to do, but he's I think the exception.
25:31
Anna: Um, and I started looking at what were the pieces that gave me made me excited?
25:37
Anna: Where where was my joy?
25:39
Anna: What did I do in high school?
25:41
Anna: And earlier than that, what did I love?
25:43
Anna: Oh, I loved writing, I loved, you know, helping people, I loved um I was curious why was I reading all these biographies?
25:51
Anna: Because I loved learning how to be all these, these were little clues, these were little breadcrumbs that were there, kind of like, okay, here's another little sign to look at and see, you know, it's like kind of looking through the fog almost.
26:08
Anna: You can still see the path, but it's not necessarily clear.
26:12
Anna: So looking back, doing a self-assessment, and literally reviewing my life, what were the key things that that just made made my energy rise that made me just happy, just being part of it, even if it wasn't something I made a living at or big success, but that just brought me joy.
26:32
Anna: And you know, write those down if you're not start writing those down.
26:37
Anna: What were those things?
26:38
Anna: Lit, and there's no again, no small or large, just any little thing that you've done that made you happy, right?
26:47
Anna: Living at the beach or being in the trees in nature, or you know, spending time with friends, entertaining, cooking.
26:54
Anna: You know, that's probably how Mark the Stewart got her.
26:57
Anna: I just like to cook.
27:00
Cassandra: Um yeah, yeah, so yeah.
27:03
Cassandra: Let me talk about the title of the podcast, Second Act Strategies.
27:10
Cassandra: Why is it the best yet to come?
27:13
Cassandra: Explain that.
27:16
Anna: We get to a point in life, and I I have a client who's in her mid-30s and going through this, so it's it's not necessarily whatever we consider middle-age, um, which I call it now, it's a middle-aged calling, not a middle-aged crisis.
27:30
Cassandra: It's like, uh-huh.
27:31
Anna: You know, because the first half of our lives, we're we're kids, we're just learning how to be in the world, we're getting educated.
27:38
Anna: We, you know, do the relationships and the family quite often.
27:42
Anna: And okay, what am I gonna do for work?
27:44
Anna: And we're learning, we're learning how to be in the planet, on the planet, you know, as part of it.
27:52
Anna: And we're so busy with that, we're not paying attention to these little signs, usually, you know.
27:56
Anna: Oh, I love philosophy in you know, college.
27:59
Anna: Oh, yeah, you're you know, your parents are like, okay, you're gonna make a career out of that.
28:03
Anna: What are you gonna do?
28:03
Anna: Right.
28:04
Anna: Or being creatives a lot of time.
28:07
Anna: Well, you can't never make a living as an artist, so um you take a more practical route.
28:13
Anna: So looking back kind of through all of all of that, maybe the kids are out of the house, you've done the career, you've been successful, you've got it, you know, relationships are good, or or they've ended.
28:27
Anna: Oftentimes that's the transition point, and it's an opportunity to reassess and go, okay, we're at what which which path am I taking now?
28:38
Anna: Um which path?
28:40
Anna: Um, and I get to create a new one.
28:42
Anna: And it's not about starting over.
28:44
Anna: It is not about starting over, but it's building on the success that that you've had, it's building on what you've learned, the wisdom that we've gained.
28:55
Anna: Um the hard lessons, you know, bigger, biggest teachers that we have.
29:00
Anna: I've learned how to, you know, keep myself from getting sick again.
29:04
Anna: And I've learned how much I can give and help other people before I start burning out.
29:12
Anna: And I recognize those signs.
29:14
Anna: So it's it's a self-assessment is a big first part of that.
29:20
Anna: It's what are these things that have just these little breadcrumbs that have been there throughout your life?
29:26
Anna: Start gathering them, making a note of them, thinking about them, really give yourself time.
29:31
Anna: Oh, how was that?
29:32
Anna: Oh, I love doing that.
29:33
Anna: Why why did I love that?
29:35
Anna: You know, the piece may come together with another piece later.
29:39
Anna: It's kind of building a puzzle.
29:41
Anna: And we've we have opportunities to start again, again, usually again, because we're not raising kids or families, and and you know, like you said, the career's successful, but maybe it's like, well, I've already done that, you know.
29:54
Anna: You're feeling feeling an inkling, like, is this it?
29:58
Anna: Is this it?
29:59
Anna: I'm 40, I'm 50, I'm right.
30:01
Anna: I'm not done.
30:03
Anna: There's you know, yeah.
30:06
Cassandra: Right.
30:06
Cassandra: What else is there to life, right?
30:08
Anna: What else is there?
30:09
Anna: You know, it's like there's everything is there.
30:12
Anna: Everything is there.
30:13
Anna: There's so many people that I've I've researched, not and not interviewed yet, um, who've had their didn't even start their major successes until they were 40s, 50s, 60s.
30:27
Anna: I mean, Julia um um Julia Child was in her 60s, 50s when she started, 60s when the book came out.
30:35
Anna: Um Samuel Jackson, love him, great actor.
30:39
Anna: He didn't even get, I think, a decent role until he was 50 something.
30:43
Anna: And you know, designers and you know, writers, just there's so many.
30:49
Anna: John Lenning, you know, talks about that too, and and how he uses intuition for some of these things.
30:55
Anna: But yeah, it's what's we're here for as long as we get.
31:01
Anna: Yeah, and it the first half isn't the only half.
31:04
Anna: The first part isn't the only part.
31:06
Anna: That's the that's the foundation that we're building part, learning.
31:10
Anna: The growing part, like me learning that it's okay to ask, you know.
31:14
Anna: I didn't get that in the early part.
31:16
Anna: I learned that as I started approaching the second half.
31:20
Anna: It's like, no, I get to choose.
31:22
Anna: Right.
31:22
Anna: That's and it's not at at the it's not at the expense of anybody else in my life that I love.
31:30
Anna: And the ones that really support you, you know, are the ones, you know, uh that are going to be there for you for the long haul.
31:37
Cassandra: Anna, you talked about the self-assessment tool.
31:41
Cassandra: Um, what um what other tools do you use to support your clients in determining what's next for them?
31:51
Cassandra: What other tools?
31:53
Anna: Well, we work a lot on how to recognize intuition, how it speaks to us.
32:00
Anna: Um, science has documented this.
32:03
Anna: This is absolutely proven scientifically that well, uh we get 11 million bits of information every second that we're picking up visual cues and auditory cues.
32:17
Anna: But only one percent of it goes to our brain, the rest of it's picked up by our senses, by our senses.
32:24
Anna: So it makes sense that one of the major keys to learning to recognize intuition, this guided system that's helping us clarify is by the senses.
32:38
Anna: And that is as you mentioned, you just walk into a room and you go, uh, you know, or you just know that something's not right here, or the opposite, where and I know, I know everyone I've talked to has had this feeling where I don't know how I know, but I know, and I know with an intensity that you it is unshakable.
32:57
Anna: And so there it comes through auditory messages, you know.
33:03
Anna: People you when somebody I hear two or three people tell me about a book within a short period of time, I go buy that book or go watch the movie because I know there's something in there for me.
33:14
Cassandra: Right.
33:15
Cassandra: Um, you know, visual cues, it's you know, seeing repetitive signs where you don't know where to take vacation here or here, and all of a sudden all the signs are pointing to Hawaii.
33:26
Cassandra: Exactly.
33:27
Cassandra: You know, those signs have been there, those billboards have been there, those ads have been there.
33:32
Cassandra: But when you're in that decision making or that choice making mode, then things start you start noticing things, right?
33:41
Cassandra: And you know, recognizing those little, little quiet signs, that little quiet voice that said, just just ask, just ask.
33:51
Cassandra: Just ask, right?
33:52
Anna: Counterintuitive, it was it was counter to my rational mind.
33:55
Anna: My rational mind's like, yeah, they don't have this stuff's spooey.
33:58
Anna: And it's like, yeah, not so much, you know, listening to that.
34:03
Anna: So it's practicing, and so I have them start tracking that.
34:07
Anna: I mean, you know, something may happen today that we go, oh, oh, yeah, that's right.
34:13
Anna: I turned left and I got there easier, or I got stuck in traffic because I didn't listen.
34:18
Anna: Um, in two days, you've forgotten about that.
34:21
Anna: So if you write it down, just jot it down, anything to trigger your memory, you start seeing a pattern, and the pattern builds, and you start really building trust in yourself.
34:31
Anna: Okay, okay.
34:33
Cassandra: Is there a difference though between intuition, gut feeling, logic, instincts?
34:40
Cassandra: Is all that the same?
34:41
Cassandra: Logic's different.
34:43
Anna: Okay.
34:44
Anna: There's you've got the rational mind, which keeps us organized, it keeps us functioning, it keeps keeps everything on track.
34:52
Anna: Rational minds constantly, no, no, this is safe.
34:54
Anna: It's trying to keep us safe.
34:56
Anna: This is safe.
34:57
Anna: But the rational mind is not where creativity comes from, it's not where insights come from, it's not where those aha moments come from.
35:05
Anna: Rational mind's like, no, no, no, don't, don't.
35:07
Anna: We don't know what's down that road.
35:09
Anna: So this one's safe.
35:11
Anna: Stay in your job.
35:11
Anna: I know, you know, you're feeling burnt out, you're not feeling great.
35:15
Anna: But this is safe.
35:16
Anna: You got a paycheck, you know.
35:17
Anna: What are you gonna do if you leave the job?
35:20
Anna: What's gonna happen?
35:21
Anna: You won't have insurance.
35:22
Anna: And those are valid questions, absolutely, but they keep us stuck, and that leads, and that leads to burnout.
35:29
Anna: That can lead to burnout.
35:31
Anna: So it's you know, paying attention to those senses, and while you're getting burnout, you're exhausted, you're tired, you go home, you don't have energy to do anything to spend time with anybody.
35:43
Anna: Yeah, it shows in your face, it shows your body, you're just you're it takes every bit of energy because you're you're swimming upstream, you know, you're f you're when you're old expressions popping into my head, when you're living in the flow, you know, when you're following your guidance, things are yes, it's not supposed to be hard.
36:08
Anna: It's not supposed to be uh yes, there's challenges, yes, there's difficulties, yes, there's you know, experiences and things we have we learn through, we work through, but it's not supposed to be dragging a you know a stone up a hill our whole life.
36:26
Anna: Um when things are effortless, that's another thing.
36:30
Anna: What comes easily, and oh my gosh, as women, I think we're particularly guilty at not recognizing, first of all, and not validating what comes easily to us, because we all have innate gifts that we have the intuition, yes, that we're born with, but we all have innate skills and abilities and in different combinations, and there's no we're like snowflakes, there's no two people that have that same exact combination.
37:01
Anna: And as women, it's so often, oh well not, you know, how many times you probably have had friends go, oh Cassandra, that's so wonderful.
37:08
Anna: How do you do that?
37:09
Anna: Oh, I just do it.
37:10
Anna: I don't know, I just do it, right?
37:12
Anna: Just just oh yeah, it's just what do you mean that's what do you what do you what do you think that's a big deal for?
37:17
Anna: It's not a big deal, I just do it, right?
37:19
Anna: And those are huge clues, those are huge clues.
37:23
Anna: What is that?
37:24
Anna: So I suggest that um my my clients ask their friends, they're really good friends, people that know them.
37:33
Anna: Ask your family, what do you what do you think I love?
37:37
Anna: That's important.
37:39
Anna: They that's usually for most fairly clear.
37:42
Anna: I think our family kind of knows, but they don't always.
37:45
Anna: And the other one for me when I did this was huge.
37:49
Anna: What do you think I'm good at?
37:50
Anna: I mean, what do you think I'm really good at?
37:53
Anna: And I was like, you know, um, thank you very much, but give me something I can use.
37:59
Anna: I totally dismissed one that became a key to one of my businesses.
38:05
Anna: It was it's like, oh yeah, fine, you're good at accessorizing and decorating and doing the housing.
38:10
Anna: Thank you.
38:11
Anna: That's really nice, thank you.
38:12
Anna: Now, what what else?
38:13
Anna: What can I use?
38:14
Anna: And I ended up, you know, creating an import business where that's what I was I was drawn to accessories, fashion accessories.
38:25
Anna: And I'm like, oh, this is how we don't we tend not to recognize it as easily as value, you know, it's that work if you work hard, then it then it means something.
38:39
Anna: But it's the opposite.
38:41
Anna: We have it backwards.
38:42
Anna: It's what comes easily to us, is the gift that we have to share.
38:48
Cassandra: That reminds me of um, you know, the many times I can recall saying, should I interview for this job?
38:57
Cassandra: And I and I remember, and then I asked my dad, and he says, Well, if it's not meant for you, then you won't get it.
39:05
Cassandra: So go ahead and interview.
39:07
Cassandra: I'm like, oh, he's so diplomatic, you know.
39:09
Cassandra: Um for death.
39:10
Cassandra: Should I mail it's gone?
39:14
Cassandra: I mean, all of this stuff is important.
39:16
Cassandra: Or should I do this?
39:18
Cassandra: And I always used to say that helped me.
39:21
Cassandra: God speaks first, and the devil speaks next, because all of us say, Well, I think I should do this, or I think I should do that.
39:30
Cassandra: And and I think, you know, I'm a woman of faith.
39:34
Cassandra: And I'm like, I think God wants me to, you know, and it's just it, you get so caught up in that, you know, thinking that, well, should I do this?
39:44
Cassandra: What should I do that?
39:46
Cassandra: So your lot of your information you provided um is uh are some tools to help you to support your clients to be kind of clear on what their intuition was.
39:59
Cassandra: When I said, is your gut feeling intuition?
40:02
Cassandra: Maybe so, but we know logic is not even in that.
40:06
Cassandra: Um right.
40:07
Cassandra: So you have what I call a call to action on your site about tools to clarify forgotten dreams and our intuition.
40:18
Cassandra: Is that something you would recommend my listeners to do?
40:23
Anna: It's it's a great place to start, even if you're fairly aware of your intuition, if you're fairly comfortable with it, I guarantee that it's talking more often and louder than you even know.
40:37
Anna: Okay.
40:37
Anna: And that's what I was saying.
40:39
Anna: It's it's a it's an opportunity to just start tracking and paying attention.
40:43
Anna: And also, you know, at the same time, think about what you love, what you've loved since you were a kid.
40:49
Anna: Doesn't matter if it's, you know, I loved riding my bike, you know, and so what, you know, you can still do that as an adult.
40:56
Anna: You can do that at 90.
40:58
Anna: Um, things that bring you joy in your life, and a pattern can show up, like like, oh, you're good at accessories, yeah, yeah, yeah.
41:07
Anna: You know, but then when I was looking for items to import, that's what I was drawn to.
41:13
Anna: And it's like, oh, this makes it easier because here's something I know, something I love, something I'm passionate about.
41:20
Anna: Right.
41:20
Anna: And and the pieces start coming together.
41:23
Cassandra: Sure.
41:24
Anna: Coming together.
41:25
Anna: So yeah, fine, you know, this again, the the the breadcrumbs are there, but starting to really, really pay attention to when these little instances come, then you go, oh, oh yeah, oh, oh, it's talking all the time.
41:41
Anna: Wow.
41:41
Anna: That's some good stuff.
41:42
Anna: Anna, how can how will my listeners be able to get in touch with you?
41:47
Anna: Uh I I do have, and hopefully you can share a link to the tracking sheet and some information on how the different all the different ways that our senses are speaking or channeling, if you will, uh how our intuition comes through that sheet.
42:07
Anna: They they can just go to intuitiongift.com.
42:13
Anna: Okay.
42:13
Anna: And they can just say yeah, send it to me, and I will happily send that to them.
42:19
Anna: Um and there's other information on the website, uh Journey Journey to Purpose, but you'll have that.
42:27
Cassandra: Okay, and that's your website.
42:29
Cassandra: Um is it Anna at Journey to Purpose or just Journey to Purpose?
42:37
Anna: Well, the website is journeytopurpose.org.
42:41
Anna: Okay, great.
42:42
Anna: But if they if they just go to intuitiongift.com, that'll pop up on the website.
42:48
Anna: So they can they'll be on the website.
42:50
Anna: So that's probably the simplest way.
42:52
Anna: Okay.
42:52
Anna: And there's there are way ways to reach out to me, and there's a contact page.
42:55
Anna: So I'm happy to to um, you know, help me in any way that I can.
43:02
Anna: So it's been it's been a wonderful tool for me.
43:05
Anna: It has like you with your and your dad sounds like he was already living in in.
43:10
Anna: But I've had that same experience and gotten into the probably the two best jobs I've had.
43:19
Anna: And once that I just like, yeah, I why am I gonna go interview?
43:22
Anna: It's not what I want.
43:22
Anna: And it was more than I wanted, more than I expected.
43:26
Cassandra: So well, I'm actually gonna go in and take the intuition gift that I can't wait.
43:33
Cassandra: I'm gonna do that one day just before the week is out.
43:36
Anna: Oh, and yeah, and let me know how it helps you or if it does.
43:43
Cassandra: I certainly will.
43:44
Cassandra: And I know my listeners are gonna do the same thing, uh, which I think is a phenomenal tool.
43:51
Cassandra: And um we could talk more, but we can't.
43:54
Cassandra: We could talk more.
43:56
Anna: And then um, just one thing I will say is that once you clarify, then there are that's where I get into the quantum mind-body tools and learning how to reprogram, re-engineer your brain to bring that dream to life much more quickly.
44:13
Cassandra: Okay.
44:13
Anna: So that's but finding clarifying the the what you're here for is the first step.
44:18
Anna: Right.
44:19
Anna: Oh, that's beautiful.
44:21
Cassandra: Anna, thank you so much.
44:23
Cassandra: Um, my listeners, uh, I'm certain you've heard something that resonates with you all.
44:28
Cassandra: And what I'd like for you to do is share this with your friends, family, and whomever you believe that it will touch them or resonate with them, please do so.
44:41
Cassandra: I am going to have all of Anna's information in the show notes so that.
44:46
Cassandra: Don't have to like in the event you're driving and you didn't write intuitiongift.com and didn't have an opportunity to write her website address.
44:54
Cassandra: I'm actually going to provide that for you.
44:58
Cassandra: And again, Anna, thank you so much for your information.
45:02
Cassandra: I've learned um about my more about my intuition, and I'm gonna keep that in the in my mind as I move throughout my continued life.
45:12
Cassandra: And also something that I always say to my my listeners, I always say bye for now.
45:19
Cassandra: God bless.
45:21
Cassandra: And you will continue to listen to my podcast there on all platforms.
45:30
Cassandra: And it's titled Is Your Way in Your Way.
45:33
Cassandra: And I want to thank you again, Anna.
45:35
Cassandra: Bye for now, and God bless you.
45:38
Cassandra: Bye for now.
