They they really fed and keep sustained the momentum well that

the starters began the game with.

And you saw Jamarian Bateman hit a bunch of big shots in the

first half. Nate Heisey was hustling on the

glass Fish with a team high 8 rebounds, had eight points, 4

assists as well. And then Dom played it, probably

had his best game in the cycle. And like to me, that was

probably the biggest take away of them all.

But just how well the bench played out scoring Colorado's

bench 40 to 17 was also just an impressive showing by them.

And Anthony Rice, I mean, you mentioned all these these bench

But one thing that TJ Altenberger mentioned was that

he's been kind of getting on him over the last week and 1/2,

mostly because they felt like performances like he had last

night should be the norm. Could be the constant for him

Another guy that I just kind of wonder about at times is Dom

he didn't play. Playing against Alcorn State

before that game, though, before the groin injury, he played

double figure minutes in every game except for one, the Saint

John's game. But even against Syracuse and

bench before him, though I'm I'm also a little perplexed.

I I feel like even with his athleticism and his quickness,

But right now it looks like Don Nelson has been fading in the

rotation and also kind of Co aligns with Jamar and Bateman's

emergence. Like it seems like Bateman has

been really killing him off the bench for the last month or so,

so that could also be attributed to where those minutes are going

I feel like at this point, he definitely, although he won't

admit it or or fully buy into it, he definitely must have some

sort of awareness towards it. But just what he's been doing

this season has been nothing short of remarkable.

We're at the point now where he shot 50% last night, 3 of 6, and

that still causes his average season average to dip a little

bit like that's crazy. I don't know how, if I've ever

seen anything like that. This is a player that could be

looking at a, you know, in the hunt for A505090 season like

it's it's unreal what he's been doing and so far it's been a

treat and and cyclone fans has definitely been enjoying his

explosion this year. We were talking earlier, Eugene,

about the freshman wall and you know, if Tori's going to hit it,

maybe it's that two game losing streak.

He didn't play well in either of those games.

Maybe that was it. This dude is absolutely

gone on, he's been slowly turning more heads just as the

pretty much already beloved and well endeared by Cyclone fans.

it starts to get some scouts going his way.

Now here we are in Big 12 play and he's continued to rise up.

I've seen a couple of loose mock drafts or a couple of NBA scouts

just on Twitter, people on Twitter, social media and, and

some reports there where you look at his length, you look at

his athleticism, you look at his high motor on defense and what

team wouldn't want that combination?

I mean, he's got AA68 wingspan, he's got great speed and great

quickness and athleticism as a guard is 3 point shot can always

be improved with time and and things like that.

But what I'm curious to see is as we go through Big 12 play, I

feel like national media, college basketball and just

everyone else, the casual fan, even they start to pay more

attention in late February where you have all these marquee

matchups and Iowa State has a big bunch of those.

And then you have the Big 12 tournament and obviously the big

dance. And I feel like if Tory is

continuing this trajectory, that that chatter, that buzz, that

hype around potential NBA draft or whatever, maybe it'll it can

only rise up from here. But just what he's done as a

freshman has definitely been big.

Like you mentioned, when you thought he hit the wall, when

you thought he hit some humps or teams are starting to figure

them out. He's cleared that.

And he's also just continued to be a strong defender all

throughout. Well, K State coming up this

Sunday a big fox has its one O clock tip on the road in

he's this team is really about to elevate here after he waited

It's Haggerty, then, a bunch of, well, subpar, not, not very good

of injuries, especially to their front court.

Haggerty is really the only true threat.

He's the only player that's had any form of consistency momentum

throughout the season. He's averaging 23 points per

look like a lot of different people got Rodgers at different

after talking to him, getting kind of that extended time and a

Jimmy Rodgers is that he's a guy who is very direct.

He's very upfront. He's not going to really beat

around the Bush. He's a guy who there's definite

confidence in his vision for what he has or what he has

planned for Iowa State. I'm sure the rebuild operation

that he had at Washington State helps feed into it as well.

But there's also just a humility that that seems like he wants to

endear himself to Ames. You know, he's a guy that's

embracing the Midwest roots that he's embracing, but the culture

here at Iowa State on and he knows, you know as as good as

anything, you know, as as good as he might seem in front of the

camera as down to earth as he may be at the end of the day, he

knows the winning is is going to be the biggest solvent here.

But but for him, he's going to come in with a defensive minded

approach that I think that four man front should do much more

improvement on the defensive line front, just being able to

generate more pass pressure and and more stacks and things like

that. And then offensively, he wants

to run the ball down potent throats.

We saw that the work that he put in and just rebuilding that

offensive line that lost every starter and every reserve.

He got a lot of upperclassmen, a lot of Richard junior Richard

senior guys to help pave the way.

And he feels like running the ball and and just one pass

options and being able to feed off playoff and play action as

well is going to be crucial. But at the end of the day, he's

got 75 new guys, a roster of over 110 players.

He's not going to come to any judgments or he won't say

anything about specific players until he sees them all in the
