- 0:03Sean McAllister: Vegas Reveal presented by Level Up Law starts now.
- 0:08Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, Sean McAllister and Dana Roselli here on location at the Mirage in the final hour of this iconic property's existence here on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 0:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, literally, it is 10.05 a.m.
- 0:23Dayna Roselli: and the doors close at 11 a.m.
- 0:26Dayna Roselli: We just finished up with a closing ceremony, and right at the end, uh they turned on the volcano and they said, you know what, we're gonna run it for another hour, go have fun, go watch, take pictures, and so we've got the volcano going in the morning.
- 0:39Sean McAllister: And we have people uh kind of filtering through the property one last time before the doors lock for good at 11 a.m.
- 0:49Sean McAllister: And then starting tomorrow, less than 24 hours from now, is when construction crews are gonna come in, start the demolition, start the three-year process of turning this property into the Hard Rock Las Vegas.
- 1:03Dayna Roselli: I know, and we're sitting right now at a slot machine that's completely shut off.
- 1:06Dayna Roselli: We got a couple of lit up ones uh next to us, but yeah, the floor is cleaned up.
- 1:11Dayna Roselli: People are taking pictures.
- 1:13Dayna Roselli: Uh some things that we did learn this morning when we talked to Jim Allen, who's the chairman of Hard Rock International and the CEO of Seminole Gaming, is that the atrium is going away.
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: You know, the atrium with the waterfall, and and he said, you know what?
- 1:28Dayna Roselli: It it's not gonna be here anymore.
- 1:31Dayna Roselli: Uh something else will replace it.
- 1:32Dayna Roselli: I can't say what it is, but that atrium is going away, and so a lot of people taking pictures right now.
- 1:38Sean McAllister: And uh something else that we also found out is that uh a little toward the end of this year or early into 2025, we'll get a much better idea of Hard Rock's plans for this property, what they plan to do within the footprint that we now know as the Mirage, and also uh what they're planning for that massive 700-foot guitar tower that's going to be built right out there along Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I asked him about that.
- 2:10Dayna Roselli: I said, you know, some people are all for the guitar tower, others are like, what?
- 2:14Dayna Roselli: Um so he's gonna talk about that in just a minute.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: But at the closing ceremony, Elaine Wynne was there and she spoke, and you know, it you could tell everyone was really emotional.
- 2:24Dayna Roselli: Um Steve Wynne uh and Elaine Wynne, you know, basically created and built the Mirage.
- 2:30Dayna Roselli: Um she talks about how, you know, they had the golden nugget and they wanted something on the strip, and so we'll play a little bit of that too.
- 2:37Sean McAllister: And and one of the stories that I love uh that Elaine told Dana is about the dolphins.
- 2:43Sean McAllister: Of course, the dolphins were so many generations of people have memories of coming to swim with the dolphins here at the Mirage.
- 2:51Sean McAllister: Well, uh Elaine Wynne shared a story of how Steve Wynne initially wanted the dolphins at their home.
- 2:59Sean McAllister: But she was like, Steve, I don't know how to take care of dolphins, put them at the Mirage.
- 3:03Sean McAllister: And this is where they ended up.
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: That was fun.
- 3:06Dayna Roselli: And we just put that actually on our Instagram if you want to go look at that sound bite and and have a visual.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: Um, something um that I thought was really interesting is I I'm already seeing some reactions online from people saying, hey, this is really cool that they're doing a closing ceremony.
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: Sometimes they kind of just lock the doors, you know, kick everyone out and and and move on.
- 3:26Dayna Roselli: But you know, you could tell that the Mirage is something special.
- 3:30Dayna Roselli: I mean, I would say it was really the first what luxury hotel.
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's very unique.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: Well, like you mentioned, the dolphins and the you know, Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: And I mean, it was something so different that um I think people really embraced it and loved it, and and you know, it was a little quirky, you know, it very island theme and and I don't want to say gaudy, but a lot, but the very vegas.
- 3:53Sean McAllister: Very vegas.
- 3:54Sean McAllister: And but I think it's important to remember that it was the first of its kind.
- 3:58Sean McAllister: There was the Tropicana that had it kind of a tropical motif, but that's kind of where it ended.
- 4:07Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 4:07Sean McAllister: The Mirage was, I mean, really, probably when you think about the the history of Las Vegas, one of the big first fully immersive experiences here.
- 4:19Sean McAllister: And now that's a word that's used every other hour of every day.
- 4:24Dayna Roselli: Well, I think that's the thing too.
- 4:25Dayna Roselli: Like the Tropicana didn't have any attractions, you know, inside.
- 4:29Dayna Roselli: Listen, it was a wonderful ceremony.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: Um, there's a lot of first-time employees here, which is is cool.
- 4:36Dayna Roselli: I mean, like since the beginning.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: Day one.
- 4:38Dayna Roselli: Day one, yeah, that's the right um phrase to use.
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: Day one employees here.
- 4:42Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, when Jim Allen was speaking, he was saying, you know, some will choose to come back, some have found jobs other places, some are gonna retire and thank them for their service at the Mirage.
- 4:54Dayna Roselli: Uh, you can tell everyone was really, really emotional.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: We heard from Joe Lupo, who uh too, the president of the Mirage, and which will now be the hard rock, and you could tell he he's got a big um big job ahead.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: And so um it was nice to hear from him as well.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: And you know, it's been a nice morning.
- 5:12Sean McAllister: It has.
- 5:13Sean McAllister: Uh let's go ahead.
- 5:14Sean McAllister: These are like kind of our immediate takeaways as we are literally just coming away from the closing ceremony out in front of the Mirage.
- 5:23Sean McAllister: Um, but we want to uh give you a chance to listen to that conversation we had with Jim Allen from Hard Rock International.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: I feel like some people have been a little divisive over the big guitar, you know?
- 5:35Dayna Roselli: Uh can you give us some words of encouragement?
- 5:37Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, I'm all for it, others are against it.
- 5:40Dayna Roselli: Um in the, you know, uh w other cities where you have it, uh, people love it?
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: Um I I think that's an excellent question.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: And and clearly some cities, you know, people have said, Jim, we we don't think that's the right thing.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Um and and we frankly have always yielded towards the local population or the governing, you know, country that we're in.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: But in the case of Las Vegas, if there's ever a building or city I should say about WoW's, um certainly Las Vegas would be that city.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: So when you talk about a structure, if anyone has gone online or seen the guitar in South Florida that's about 450 some feet, you know, this building will be approaching 700 feet, you know, it will become a true icon, and that's something we think that creates international tourism, um, not just for hard rock, but frankly for Las Vegas.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Um, bulldozers and construction people will be here tomorrow.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: You know, we are we've been slowly mobilizing the last five, six months.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Um, but really this time next week we will be, you know, in major demolition.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Major right now there's a tremendous emphasis on sports.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Um, and obviously you have fun and basketball, baseball, football, and all those teams seem to be thriving incredibly well, but you still have the aspect of the integrative resort concept, which is meeting and group, amazing food and beverage, and obviously last but not least, of the world's greatest entertainment.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Um we're staying here now with kind of gonna be gonna keep the atrium.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: Do you know what you're kind of doing yet?
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Um, we plan on having a major announcement sometime in the last quarter of this year or first quarter of next.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: But what I can tell you is no, the atrium uh will not be in the in the future.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: As I said, today we're not gonna get into, you know, the specifics of the new project.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: This is really about the legacy of the Mirage and all the employees that worked here since 1989.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: But certainly really excited about presenting the project the proper way in the future.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: It you know, it was certainly a long, long battle since 2007, uh actually 2006 when we had actually announced the purchase of the brand.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: We looked at a lot of dirt, uh, we certainly looked at a lot of buildings, but I don't think anyone can dispute this is probably the best piece of real estate on the Las Vegas strip.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: It's truly the 50-yard line.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: When you talk about a site that is almost 80 acres, it certainly gives us the ability to look at the future for massive expansion, assuming the business, you know, hits its performance.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: All of us have to be very cognizant about what's happening with iGaming, sports betting, and the utilization of a smartphone for the purpose of entertainment.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: And I think anyone that's not focused on that in our industry um should be cautious.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: And we mentioned that Elaine Wynne was there.
- 8:14Dayna Roselli: She got up to speak at the closing ceremony, and we caught a little piece of that for you.
- 8:19Dayna Roselli: You know, the Mirage opened in 1989.
- 8:23Dayna Roselli: You know, it was opened by casino mogul Steve Wynne, and it was interesting.
- 8:27Dayna Roselli: She told some stories.
- 8:29SPEAKER_04: Although the golden nugget was certainly a wonderful experience.
- 8:34SPEAKER_04: Steve and the rest of us all craved and wanted desperately to join the other guys and gals up here on the strip in order to do something really spectacular and innovative.
- 8:48SPEAKER_04: And it gave us an opportunity, of course, to let the imagination run wild.
- 8:54SPEAKER_04: And his imagination really did run wild.
- 8:58SPEAKER_04: You know, up until that time, this place was sort of steak in a desert environment culture with a few exceptions.
- 9:07SPEAKER_04: We had the sands, the Sahara, the dunes, the desert and Steve always believed in creating what he kind of referred to as dynamic contention.
- 9:21SPEAKER_04: What can we do to make the people go wow?
- 9:24SPEAKER_04: What can we do to make them think, well, who would ever think of building at that place here?
- 9:31SPEAKER_04: Now, of course, the tropicana did exist, but it was just a bit of a gesture.
- 9:37SPEAKER_04: So the notion that we could create a tropical paradise with all of the attendant functions that have been referred to in the last days and weeks, with magical gardens and exploding volcanoes and dolphins in the backyard, which by the way, he really wanted to put in our home.
- 9:55SPEAKER_04: And I explained to him saying, I don't know a thing about dolphins.
- 10:00SPEAKER_04: And if you're so intent on that, let's put him in the mirage, thinking that I could get him off of that tangent.
- 10:08SPEAKER_04: And thank goodness you did, and we did.
- 10:11Sean McAllister: It's always great to see Elaine win.
- 10:14Sean McAllister: I mean, she really is, you know, she's up there with the greatest visionaries of Las Vegas.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and when they introduced her, you know, he kept saying, like, this is gonna take an hour to read everything that you've done and all the accomplishments, and and she laughed.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: But yes, definitely an icon in Las Vegas.
- 10:30Sean McAllister: And as we mentioned, uh, demolition and construction at the Mirage property uh begins immediately.
- 10:39Sean McAllister: Uh but we're we wait three years until we can get back inside when it reopens as the hard rock.
- 10:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we were saying this morning, I hope they demolish that parking garage.
- 10:49Sean McAllister: Oh, they it would be I would not be sad if they came up with a new parking solution.
- 10:54Dayna Roselli: I hope so.
- 10:55Sean McAllister: Those little roads back there, it's like a bowl of spaghetti.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: All right, well, listen, quick update on the Tropicana demolition.
- 11:03Dayna Roselli: We don't know all the specifics, but we know it's supposed to take uh place sometime in October this fall, and we know permits are moving forward, they've been submitted, and so um, you know, there's like two towers there.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: So hopefully, because we kind of like an implosion.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: We're hoping that we'll get a nice little implosion sometime this fall.
- 11:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, and according to the dates that have been filed on these permits, um, it's still not a done deal yet.
- 11:27Sean McAllister: There's still some you know final things to approvals to go through, but it looks like it could be around the first week of October when we see that happening, at least according to what we're seeing now.
- 11:40Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 11:41Dayna Roselli: Good.
- 11:41Dayna Roselli: Hey, a couple notes, just gonna run through some new things that were announced.
- 11:45Dayna Roselli: Uh Theo Vaughn doing very well at Resorts World.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: He had a great Fourth of July weekend um show, and now he's returning.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: In fact, his actual tour is called Return of the Rat, but he's coming back August 30th and August 31st to Resorts World Theater.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: Shows are at 9 p.m.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: and tickets are on sale now at AXS.com.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: Theo Vaughn is a stand-up comedian and podcast host and very popular.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: Also, uh Kevin Hart is going to be returning to the stage over at Resorts World as well, bringing back his Heartbeat Weekend, August 29th through September 1st.
- 12:24Sean McAllister: That is also when Kevin Hart will take the stage to do his own show on September 1st.
- 12:30Sean McAllister: So it'll be all things Kevin Hart over there at Resorts World.
- 12:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:35Sean McAllister: Uh that Labor Day weekend.
- 12:37Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 12:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know.
- 12:38Dayna Roselli: It's weird because Labor Day weekend's like, you know, the 30th, the 31st, and uh I feel like it's early this year.
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: Isn't it sometimes like September, I don't know, fourth?
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 12:48Sean McAllister: I feel like all time has been so weird lately.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 12:54Dayna Roselli: We don't even know what month we're in.
- 12:55Sean McAllister: It's weekends feel like weekdays.
- 12:58Sean McAllister: It's a whole thing.
- 12:59Dayna Roselli: All we know is every day lately it's been 115 degrees.
- 13:02Sean McAllister: So we're ready for the fall temperatures.
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: Today when they were like, hey, go over and look at the volcano one more time.
- 13:10Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, I really don't want to go stand by fire at this moment.
- 13:13Sean McAllister: Fire and in the sun next to fire.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 13:17Dayna Roselli: Hey, well, listen, we have a lot of male listeners, so I thought this one's for the guys.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's not really, it's actually for women too.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: We're talking about uh a couple new shows that are launching, but they're actually launching at a strip club.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: Okay, so Centerfolds right there on Paradise, like across from Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, um, actually has a showroom and they do a show called A Touch of Burlesque, but they're adding two more shows into the mix.
- 13:43Dayna Roselli: Um, Excite the Show, which actually has popped around to some different places.
- 13:48Dayna Roselli: It's kind of like a rock vibe, high energy.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: Um, this is produced and choreographed by Jennifer Romus, and she does an excellent job.
- 13:56Dayna Roselli: Um, they're putting that show there.
- 13:58Dayna Roselli: They're also putting Murray's Misfits in there, and this is supposed to showcase some of the funniest and weirdest acts in Las Vegas.
- 14:07Dayna Roselli: This is produced by comedian, magician Murray Sawchuk, who's been in Las Vegas a long time, um, had shows, even uh took part in uh hosting fantasy for a while over at the Luxor.
- 14:19Sean McAllister: Yeah, most recently he had a show over uh at the Laugh Factory at Tropicana.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 14:24Sean McAllister: So he's found a new home for his show over at the uh Centerfold Showroom.
- 14:30Sean McAllister: And this showroom does look like uh I've never I haven't been over in person, but I've been seeing you know some of the pictures that um the folks over there have sent over, and it looks like a really nice showroom.
- 14:42Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 14:42Dayna Roselli: That burlesque show has been going for a long time now, actually, for years, and I think it does well because it keeps plugging away.
- 14:49Dayna Roselli: So um it's interesting.
- 14:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, if you've got the space uh and you've got the setup for a show, why not try it out?
- 14:56Dayna Roselli: I love that people are finding spots for different kinds of shows, and and hey, whatever works, it's just off the strip.
- 15:04Dayna Roselli: Uh easy, you know, to get in and and get out.
- 15:06Dayna Roselli: And so anyway, Centerfolds uh losvegas.com is the website if you want to go there.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: If you go up to the top, you'll see a tab for the burlesque and you'll see a tab for shows, and you can get more information.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: Um, they're kicking off in July, and and hopefully it'll stick.
- 15:23Sean McAllister: And by the way, Jennifer and Murray are both very talented and they've been around Las Vegas for a while.
- 15:30Sean McAllister: Right.
- 15:30Sean McAllister: And they're doing what they do, they know exactly what they're doing.
- 15:34Sean McAllister: So congratulations to them on uh finding a new home for both of their shows.
- 15:39Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 15:40Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh on our television show recently we talked about how Emmett's Las Vegas, a new restaurant over there at the fashion show.
- 15:46Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's not so new anymore, but newish, you know.
- 15:48Sean McAllister: New within the last few months this year.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: Um, we mentioned that they actually added uh brunch on the weekends and lunch all the time.
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: So when we first talked about the restaurant, it was only open for dinner.
- 16:02Sean McAllister: Right.
- 16:02Sean McAllister: Even though I said I can't wait to get over there for lunch, and you're like, Well, you're gonna have to wait because it's only open for dinner.
- 16:09Sean McAllister: Well, now I can go for lunch anytime I want.
- 16:12Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 16:13Dayna Roselli: The restaurant opens at 11 a.m.
- 16:15Dayna Roselli: Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: on Saturday and Sunday, and I was shopping there on Saturday, and we had just done the story, and I thought, and me and my friend were like, where should we go to lunch?
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: And I was like, why don't we go to Emmet's?
- 16:27Dayna Roselli: So uh wanted to mention that I went there and had an incredible appetizer.
- 16:32Dayna Roselli: Uh, we kind of had it as we sort of shared it kind of as our meal.
- 16:35Dayna Roselli: We got the the tuna tartare, and then we each got a Caesar salad.
- 16:39Dayna Roselli: Uh this tuna tartar, though, I wanted to specifically talk about.
- 16:42Dayna Roselli: It was so good.
- 16:44Dayna Roselli: It was like this spicy, tangy, I don't know.
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: It was delicious, Sean.
- 16:49Dayna Roselli: I highly recommend if you go to Emmett's that you get the tuna tartar appetizer.
- 16:53Sean McAllister: Ooh, so how do they serve it?
- 16:55Dayna Roselli: Is it like uh it's like in the middle, uh or like in a little bowl.
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: Kind of a piled high, right?
- 17:00Dayna Roselli: And then this drizzle over it and all these spices.
- 17:03Dayna Roselli: And then you get the little um, I forget what they're called, chips on the side.
- 17:06Sean McAllister: Like the crunchies.
- 17:07Sean McAllister: Yep, yeah.
- 17:07Dayna Roselli: The crunchies.
- 17:08Dayna Roselli: And you can spoon it out and just eat it like that, or you can put it.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: It was so good.
- 17:12Dayna Roselli: Really, I think like the best I've had.
- 17:15Dayna Roselli: Delicious.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: I love tuna.
- 17:17Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 17:17Dayna Roselli: Um, it was, you know, a little busy in there at lunchtime, but I think they could use some more people over there.
- 17:22Dayna Roselli: So I want to let everyone know it's open.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: You know, it is a little, it's not tough to find.
- 17:26Dayna Roselli: It's just, I think that the restaurants that have been open there for a long time, kind of the go-tos, are on the other side, the more northern side of that whole area.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: Because it this is the restaurant that that faces the wind.
- 17:39Dayna Roselli: They have like kind of like a restaurant area where you'll see the Magianos.
- 17:42Dayna Roselli: So there's a Mexican restaurant, Capitol Grill, Capitol Grill, Cappy Camper.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: Yes, all that.
- 17:48Dayna Roselli: And then Emmett's is on the other side.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: So you gotta kind of walk a little bit more to the south, or I'd say if you were looking at the fashion show, you'd walk to your left.
- 17:57Dayna Roselli: So you gotta find Emmett's and check it out.
- 17:59Dayna Roselli: Um, again, it's open for lunch and dinner and brunch on the weekends now.
- 18:04Sean McAllister: Let's get a quick message from our title sponsor, Level Up Law, and then we'll get to our tips.

- 19:05Dayna Roselli: Our first tip is that Lapa Lounge is now open over at the Rio.
- 19:10Dayna Roselli: You and I went there for we were going there to go to Voodoo Steak for dinner, and then we stopped in and saw the new lounge.
- 19:17Dayna Roselli: Uh, want to let everyone know that it is officially completed, and it looks really nice.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: That lounge has always been popular, and it's nice to see it redone.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: There's couch areas, there's a bar, lots of really nice fixtures.
- 19:30Dayna Roselli: We had like a we had an espresso cocktail.
- 19:33Dayna Roselli: I wouldn't call an espresso martini.
- 19:35Sean McAllister: It was a tequila cocktail.
- 19:37Sean McAllister: That was good.
- 19:37Sean McAllister: And it was kind of like an espresso martini, but made with tequila.
- 19:41Sean McAllister: And but you couldn't really taste tequila.
- 19:44Dayna Roselli: No, but it was good.
- 19:45Sean McAllister: It was such a good drink.
- 19:47Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 19:47Dayna Roselli: And you and I were like, okay, before we have dinner, like I kind of need to pick me up.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: So we were like, okay, we're gonna go, we're gonna like lean toward the espresso.
- 19:55Dayna Roselli: Um, and it was perfect.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: Perfect to have right before dinner.
- 19:58Sean McAllister: And I did ask the bartender, I was like, so what's one of the most like popular cocktails since you guys have opened?
- 20:05Sean McAllister: He was like, Well, we did only just open like a week or two ago.
- 20:10Sean McAllister: Right.
- 20:11Sean McAllister: But the popular drink is the one that you're drinking.
- 20:14Dayna Roselli: Okay, good.
- 20:15Sean McAllister: So we got it.
- 20:16Dayna Roselli: We got it.
- 20:17Sean McAllister: And it was good.
- 20:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:19Dayna Roselli: And then another tip is just voodoo steak in general.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: We went up to the top, and I hadn't been there in a very long time.
- 20:25Dayna Roselli: I know you hadn't either.
- 20:26Dayna Roselli: We had a friend in town and we thought, where should we go?
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: We wanted something kind of like with a Vegas view.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: And so we thought about voodoo, and I we always say it that hotel casinos just off the strip have amazing views.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: And you you we revisited the voodoo uh stake up there, and we were like, wow, this view really is incredible.
- 20:44Sean McAllister: It's amazing.
- 20:45Sean McAllister: And there's such I mean, that patio that they have up on top of Rio.
- 20:49Sean McAllister: It's huge.
- 20:50Sean McAllister: I mean, just off of uh Voodoo Steak, there's a massive patio right outside that has uh, like you said, one of the best views in all of Las Vegas.
- 21:01Sean McAllister: And then there's that spiral staircase that goes up to a second-level patio that connects to Voodoo Lounge.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we reached out and we found out the lounge is actually one of the next projects that they're taking on.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: So you can't use the lounge, but you can go out to the patio.
- 21:18Dayna Roselli: They let you go out there to like take pictures of the sunset and go out there, you know, to take pictures in general when it gets dark.
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: I think they probably wanted to kick us out.
- 21:26Dayna Roselli: We were up there so long.
- 21:27Sean McAllister: We were up there for a really long time.
- 21:30Dayna Roselli: But the view is so incredible.
- 21:31Dayna Roselli: I mean, you can even see all the way down, like you can see Allegiant Stadium perfectly, you know, you can see the sphere.
- 21:37Sean McAllister: I mean, it is just it's such a unique uh view of the entire Las Vegas Valley.
- 21:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it really is.
- 21:44Dayna Roselli: Um, dinner at Voodoo.
- 21:46Dayna Roselli: Uh, we had a I just feel like it's such a classic meal, you know?
- 21:49Dayna Roselli: Like I had a New York strip, you had a filet mignon, right?
- 21:53Dayna Roselli: Filet?
- 21:53Sean McAllister: Uh I had a filet, yeah, with some blue cheese crust on top.
- 21:57Sean McAllister: It was really good.
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: It was.
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: Um, I think.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: I think my favorite thing might have been the creamed corn.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: It was delicious.
- 22:06Sean McAllister: I think there might have been blue cheese in there too.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: And then we had the potatoes, I think, with the blue cheese.
- 22:10Dayna Roselli: There was a lot of potatoes.
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: But we kept ordering things with blue cheese.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: Even our olives.
- 22:16Sean McAllister: I had blue cheese olives and the martini.
- 22:18Sean McAllister: And the dirty martini.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: And then we had that short rib bruchetta as an appetizer.
- 22:23Dayna Roselli: That's a must-get.
- 22:25Sean McAllister: A hundred percent.
- 22:26Sean McAllister: One bite of that, and I was like, oh my God.
- 22:29Sean McAllister: I could have ordered, I could have gotten three orders of the short rib bruchetta and just had that for dinner.
- 22:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was really good.
- 22:38Dayna Roselli: I even loved my Caesar salad.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: It was just the classic, you know, Caesar salad followed up with a steak.
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: I loved it.
- 22:44Sean McAllister: And the lettuce was so crisp.
- 22:46Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 22:46Sean McAllister: It was I love good, cold, crisp lettuce.
- 22:49Dayna Roselli: Me too.
- 22:50Dayna Roselli: Um, we had we didn't, we were too full for dessert, but we did order one piece of carrot cake.
- 22:54Dayna Roselli: That was good too.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: We had a little cappuccino.
- 22:56Dayna Roselli: So great um to see people up there too.
- 22:59Dayna Roselli: We were like there, it was busy up there, and I love that.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: And and just another reminder for everyone if you want a dinner with a view, you know, Voodoo Lounge is, or excuse me, voodoo steak is definitely an option.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: And breaking news, Sean, as I was looking for some information about voodoo steak to answer one of my questions, I found that they have a happy hour.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: Five to six Thursday through Sunday.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: Get this cocktails,$12, wines by the glass,$10, bottled beer, five bucks, and half price appetizers.
- 23:30Dayna Roselli: And guess what's on the list?
- 23:31Dayna Roselli: The braised short rib bruchetta.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 23:35Sean McAllister: I mean, that's a that's a good happy hour right there.
- 23:37Dayna Roselli: Dad, we're just full of tips.
- 23:38Sean McAllister: Five to six o'clock.
- 23:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they got shrimp cocktail, called the calimari, the uh crab cakes, the smoked slab bacon, and the brandied steak tartare.
- 23:49Dayna Roselli: So a lot.
- 23:50Dayna Roselli: Um, if you want to go up there, you know, enjoy a little bit, a little bit like before the I can't speak today, a little bit before the sunset.
- 23:57Dayna Roselli: I know we're getting tired.
- 23:58Dayna Roselli: We were up early for the mirage closing.
- 24:01Sean McAllister: And the view is free when you go up.
- 24:03Dayna Roselli: The view is free and it's all glass.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: It's just, it's great.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: Um, also, just to let everyone know, they did open the Luckley T tavern as well.
- 24:10Dayna Roselli: We gotta go try that out still.
- 24:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, so there's lots of uh lots of the projects that have been ongoing are now opening.
- 24:19Sean McAllister: So it's definitely worth stopping back over there.
- 24:22Sean McAllister: All right.
- 24:22Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, we went from happy hour to now.
- 24:27Sean McAllister: Let's talk about a social hour.
- 24:29Dayna Roselli: I know, which is like a social happy hour.
- 24:31Sean McAllister: It is.
- 24:32Dayna Roselli: Um, we want to let everyone know about this because at first I thought it was just for locals, but it's not everyone.
- 24:36Dayna Roselli: So if you're coming into town, go to the Palms and go to Scotch 80 Prime and they are doing a social hour twice nightly and offering 50% off some of their top selections.
- 24:51Dayna Roselli: The deal uh takes place, okay, get this nightly Monday through Thursday from 5 to 6:30.
- 24:58Dayna Roselli: Then again from 8:30 p.m.
- 25:01Dayna Roselli: to 10 p.m., you just look for the Scotch 80 logo next to select items and they'll be 50% off.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: So that's really cool.

- 25:30Dayna Roselli: Also, Sean, we had a review um on Apple Podcasts recently.
- 25:34Dayna Roselli: You know, sometimes I forget to see if we've had any new reviews.
- 25:37Dayna Roselli: And I I love this one.
- 25:38Dayna Roselli: It says these two are great at what they do and resonate with my style of visiting Vegas, down to earth, and smart podcasters.
- 25:44Dayna Roselli: I listen every week.
- 25:45Dayna Roselli: So I just wanted to thank that person for listening every single week.
- 25:49Sean McAllister: Thank you so much.
- 25:50Sean McAllister: That's so kind.
- 25:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 25:52Dayna Roselli: Um, so we love the reviews.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: Feel free to give us, you know, a rating and a review on Apple or any of the other podcast platforms.
- 26:01Dayna Roselli: Um, also, a lot of people ask me, these are all these notes going on in my head as we're chatting.
- 26:05Dayna Roselli: A lot of people ask me about my friend Debbie Gibson, who we've interviewed on the podcast many times.
- 26:10Dayna Roselli: We have.
- 26:11Dayna Roselli: Um, uh, our friend.
- 26:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 26:13Dayna Roselli: Um, but we went out to dinner recently just to catch up.
- 26:16Dayna Roselli: She's back in Las Vegas, and people always kind of want to know what she's up to.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: But she's gone out uh to do a bunch of shows.
- 26:23Dayna Roselli: She just announced uh more shows in I think it's uh the fall around the holidays.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: Anyway, she's always doing performances all around the country.
- 26:31Dayna Roselli: So if you want to see Debbie perform, she is out there doing stuff all the time, even though she's based here in Las Vegas and then she spends some time also in California.
- 26:43Dayna Roselli: Um, she has been gone a lot.
- 26:45Dayna Roselli: So I hadn't seen her in so long, even though we keep in touch.
- 26:49Dayna Roselli: But if you want to keep up to date with her stuff, go to Debbie Gibsonofficial.com.
- 26:54Dayna Roselli: People see pictures of us and they always ask, like, hey, what's Deb up to?
- 26:57Dayna Roselli: When can I see her?
- 26:58Dayna Roselli: And that kind of thing.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: But she's got she's always got stuff going on.
- 27:01Sean McAllister: She has been so busy lately.
- 27:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:04Sean McAllister: You know, I because uh even I'll ask, I'll be like, Oh, where's Debbie these days?
- 27:07Sean McAllister: Right.
- 27:08Sean McAllister: You know, she's always popping around, like, oh, in New York, in Chicago, and wherever.
- 27:12Sean McAllister: I mean, all over the place.
- 27:13Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 27:14Sean McAllister: Good for Debbie.
- 27:15Sean McAllister: I've Debbie's great.
- 27:16Dayna Roselli: Oh, she is, and she's a great off-the-cuff and kind of like even like I would call it like acoustic performer at the piano.
- 27:22Dayna Roselli: You know, she just does a lot of that in her shows.
- 27:25Dayna Roselli: Um, she's actually doing a show near where we grew up at one of the casinos nearby there in New York and Waterloo.
- 27:31Dayna Roselli: Um, she's doing a bunch in New York, New York.
- 27:33Dayna Roselli: She's doing Pittsburgh, she's doing Ohio.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: She's doing this whole electric youth 35th anniversary kind of tour show.
- 27:41Dayna Roselli: So um Electric Youth.
- 27:43Dayna Roselli: I can't sing it like that.
- 27:44Sean McAllister: No, Electric Youth came out just before the Mirage opened.
- 27:48Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:50Dayna Roselli: You're right, you're right.
- 27:51Dayna Roselli: It did.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: And then she's doing acoustic youth starting in September.
- 27:55Dayna Roselli: Uh, and then October, she's doing shows uh going on all the way through, it looks like uh October 24th.
- 28:02Dayna Roselli: So I said the holidays, it's the fall.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: Um, and then she'll announce more stuff because I know Debbie.
- 28:08Sean McAllister: So that is your uh Debbie Gibson update.
- 28:11Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 28:11Dayna Roselli: Um, yeah, because we get a lot of questions about that when the people see pictures.
- 28:15Dayna Roselli: So that's and we'll have to have Debbie back on the show soon.
- 28:18Sean McAllister: We've had a lot of really great interviews that we've been uh doing that you'll be hearing here on the podcast uh in the coming weeks and months.
- 28:28Sean McAllister: Um among them, the show Fantasy over at Luxor is celebrating its 25th anniversary on the Las Vegas strip, which is kind of unheard of for a show.
- 28:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, that's a long time.
- 28:42Sean McAllister: And so they're adding new numbers, bringing in uh celebrity choreographers to put some new numbers together for that show.
- 28:49Sean McAllister: Um their big anniversary celebration is coming up in the fall, but we've been going out, getting some of these interviews, and we'll be peppering those in over the coming weeks as well.
- 28:59Dayna Roselli: That'll be good.
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: That'll be good.
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: But like you said, 25 years is a long time for one show.
- 29:03Dayna Roselli: So um kudos to them.
- 29:05Dayna Roselli: They're always changing it up, which is why I think it, you know, uh keeps people coming back.
- 29:10Dayna Roselli: Sustaining power, yeah.
- 29:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah, for sure.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: Okay, that's it.
- 29:14Dayna Roselli: That's a wrap.
- 29:15Dayna Roselli: Um, next week on the podcast, we are gonna dive into the Venetian.
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: We actually did a lengthy interview.
- 29:21Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's not lengthy, you know, like five minutes.
- 29:24Dayna Roselli: Um, it feels lengthy in our world sometimes because we're used to TV, you know, short bites.
- 29:29Dayna Roselli: Um, but where we're gonna dive into what they're doing and what they have going on.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: Um they're in their 25th anniversary, right?
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: But they have a lot planned uh for the future and now.
- 29:39Dayna Roselli: And we learned some really interesting little facts about the Venetian that we did not know.
- 29:44Dayna Roselli: I didn't even know it's the largest hotel casino in North America.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: And so that'll be next week.
- 29:50Dayna Roselli: Uh, stay tuned for that, and then we have lots of other little things to talk about too.
- 29:54Sean McAllister: And a big thank you to our title sponsor, Level Up Law.
- 29:58Sean McAllister: Give them a call, 855 Level Up.
- 30:01Sean McAllister: Also, thank you to our sponsor, the Vegas Near Me app, available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
- 30:09Dayna Roselli: Have a great week, everyone.
