- 0:31Speaker 1: Most All right, good morning, and here we go aired
- 2:08Speaker 1: out on a uh what day is it? She?
- 2:13Speaker 2: You know what I mean, jeezus, today's Thursday.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah, of course, because you're here. Yeah, the final day
- 2:21Speaker 1: of the month, buddy, I know. Can you believe tomorrow's
- 2:26Speaker 1: going to be August first?
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yeah? Well, god, summer came, some said hello, and some
- 2:32Speaker 2: is leaving.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Do you do you think that though with uh, how
- 2:36Speaker 1: do you base that? Do you base that on the
- 2:38Speaker 1: the nighttime lows?
- 2:41Speaker 2: No? I based that on the fact that there's so
- 2:44Speaker 2: little sunshine and so much gray.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Well, there's been there's been a pretty good amount of sunshine.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's right up there with yeah, well, right
- 2:54Speaker 2: up there with yeah, yeah, yeah, yep, yepst uh.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Well, I mean it's been sunny, it has, and it's
- 3:03Speaker 1: been sunny and hot.
- 3:04Speaker 2: And it was you know, it was sunny and hot
- 3:08Speaker 2: in Philly. Yes, down in Philadelphia last week and it
- 3:12Speaker 2: was oh my god, it was gorgeous, was it. We
- 3:14Speaker 2: went outside and Jed was like, you're so hot, and
- 3:17Speaker 2: I'm sitting there with a long sleeve on, going, oh
- 3:20Speaker 2: my god, it's gorgeous out wow.
- 3:23Speaker 1: You know, it's interesting how some people base the some
- 3:28Speaker 1: people say the end of summer or the unofficial end
- 3:31Speaker 1: of summer is Labor Day. Some people, I'm not going
- 3:36Speaker 1: to point any fingers, gee, say the end of summer
- 3:42Speaker 1: is when you're coming down the Orange Heights and you
- 3:46Speaker 1: see all of the fog sitting down in the valleys. Yep,
- 3:51Speaker 1: the cool air is sitting down low. You see a leaf,
- 3:55Speaker 1: a leaf, leaf change color one one is the beginning
- 4:02Speaker 1: of the Hell. Yeah, I one leaf thoughts. Hell, I
- 4:11Speaker 1: have this. I have this tree that is on the
- 4:14Speaker 1: other side of the river in my backyard, and there's
- 4:18Speaker 1: this one leaf that's it, and it goes red, not orange. Yeah,
- 4:25Speaker 1: it goes red like the end of June. Right, definitely
- 4:34Speaker 1: before the fourth of July. And I have sat out
- 4:38Speaker 1: in the backyard, m it could be ninety five degrees.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I've been in the river right ninety five degrees, playing
- 4:46Speaker 1: with lily and having.
- 4:47Speaker 2: The leaf knows the leaf.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna take a picture of the leaf.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Yeah, the leaf knows.
- 4:53Speaker 1: It's there every year. I mean you should just cut
- 4:56Speaker 1: it off.
- 4:56Speaker 2: No, No, that is that is your sign to get
- 5:02Speaker 2: the snowblower out, to get everything battened down because it's coming.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I'm distracted by the leaf. I'll be in the river
- 5:12Speaker 1: playing with lily. Literally it's five hundred degrees outside, and
- 5:16Speaker 1: I will look up and this thing is looking right
- 5:18Speaker 1: at me, and I just feel like sending.
- 5:20Speaker 2: You leaf fuck off. Please, it's taunting you.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, sixty five degrees right now. Showers possible this
- 5:29Speaker 1: morning in central Vermont. Cloudy for the rest of the
- 5:32Speaker 1: day today. Surprise, surprise, showers more likely this morning than
- 5:37Speaker 1: the afternoon, and more more south, yes, more south, look
- 5:42Speaker 1: at you, mister fancy meteorologists.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Now, well, I watched Ben Forshet this morning and he
- 5:49Speaker 2: told us, you know, well, he tells us every day
- 5:52Speaker 2: what it's going to be like, and it's always different.
- 5:54Speaker 2: So what I do now is when they tell me
- 5:57Speaker 2: what the weather is, yeah, I take the opposite, and
- 6:00Speaker 2: that's what I know the weather's going to be. Okay,
- 6:03Speaker 2: they say it's going to be partly cloudy partly sunny.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Which one is it? Is it partly cloud How can
- 6:09Speaker 2: it be partly partly?
- 6:11Speaker 1: You know, come on, partly sunny or partly cloudy? I
- 6:15Speaker 1: go with I always say partly sonny.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I was doing that back when I was on Froggy.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I was like you know, I'm not going to say
- 6:22Speaker 1: partly cloudy, right, the glass is half full. Yeah, except
- 6:25Speaker 1: when the sun doesn't come out then you like, well
- 6:28Speaker 1: that's true tonight thunder Road GHO, Stephen Donahue. Sorry, just
- 6:34Speaker 1: had to say that cloudy sky's fifty degrees. That's perfect
- 6:39Speaker 1: racing weather right there. Tomorrow, Friday, August first, partly cloudy,
- 6:44Speaker 1: seventy six, that's the cool front that is supposed to
- 6:48Speaker 1: be coming in, very welcomed for many of us. Saturday sunny,
- 6:53Speaker 1: upper seventies and Sunday sunny and eighty five. That is
- 6:57Speaker 1: a perfect weekend forecast.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yeah, after after thirty two weeks, we're finally going to
- 7:02Speaker 2: have a dry weekend.
- 7:05Speaker 1: There you go.
- 7:06Speaker 2: However, let's let's not count out chickens.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Uh community calendar. I just before we dive in this morning,
- 7:15Speaker 1: I just want to say Curier Park last night was
- 7:20Speaker 1: just amazing. To sit there and to listen to my
- 7:24Speaker 1: friend Chris Powers, who has just done so much with
- 7:31Speaker 1: his career. He just sounds so good. I'm so I
- 7:34Speaker 1: was so impressed. But also to sit there and mingle
- 7:39Speaker 1: with Francine, who loves you, by the way. Oh and
- 7:43Speaker 1: she was like, where's G. And I'm like, just because
- 7:48Speaker 1: I'm in the park tonight, it doesn't mean that G
- 7:50Speaker 1: has to be with me.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I'm not there. You shouldn't be there. Wow, currently that's
- 7:56Speaker 2: the thing, apparently.
- 7:58Speaker 1: But I told her that she had just missed you
- 8:02Speaker 1: because you were just there, and she was bummed out.
- 8:04Speaker 1: But she loves you and she's listening this morning. But
- 8:09Speaker 1: also to see Tim Brick, which I haven't. I haven't
- 8:12Speaker 1: seen Tim in a long time, a long time. Yeah,
- 8:14Speaker 1: man beards a little gray. Yeah, well on Tim.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Well, bet welcome, welcome to our world.
- 8:24Speaker 1: But you know what, at least he doesn't put the
- 8:27Speaker 1: black ship in there and try to fake it out.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I used to do that, you did, I remember that?
- 8:33Speaker 2: Actually I used to color my goate.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember that.
- 8:36Speaker 2: And one day I just embraced the reel.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yeah sure, well look at me, I'm embracing the reel.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you don't even shave.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Bob Kershaw also was sitting next to me. I just
- 8:48Speaker 1: loved seeing him and chewing the fat with him, and
- 8:50Speaker 1: of course I'm next to my buddy Andy, and it
- 8:53Speaker 1: was it was just a great night. It was just good, amazing. Uh.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I have on Thursdays. I have a document that I
- 9:15Speaker 1: a working document that is called Gee's Spot, right, And
- 9:25Speaker 1: for those of you that don't know, that's G. His
- 9:28Speaker 1: real name is Greg, but everyone calls him G.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:33Speaker 1: This working document and I'm not this is the truth.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I could prove it and show to you right now.
- 9:40Speaker 1: This working document of stuff that I want to talk
- 9:43Speaker 1: with you about and laugh about is one hundred and
- 9:49Speaker 1: seven pages long.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Well, because we always have so much to say, there's
- 9:56Speaker 2: so little time, I know, but we have a plan
- 10:00Speaker 2: for that too.
- 10:01Speaker 1: We do have a plan for that that we need
- 10:03Speaker 1: to channelize two on some more. Yeah, but yeah, one
- 10:08Speaker 1: hundred and seven pages and a lot of it is
- 10:10Speaker 1: is very light and and fun.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Stuff. And I wish life was light and fun all
- 10:20Speaker 2: the time.
- 10:21Speaker 1: But yes, not, it is not.
- 10:25Speaker 2: It is not. Hey. You know, the other day I
- 10:30Speaker 2: was watching I didn't see it live, but I watched
- 10:33Speaker 2: it right after the interview did in the park.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Berry City Park.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah, the interview did with that gentleman what was his name, Jared? Jared? Yes,
- 10:46Speaker 2: what a what an enlightening enlightening interview. I was very
- 10:51Speaker 2: impressed because what you did was you took a book
- 10:56Speaker 2: that everybody is judging by its cover, and you open
- 11:01Speaker 2: the book and let people see that there's more to
- 11:03Speaker 2: something than just what they see when they drive by,
- 11:08Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. Instead of when people drive
- 11:13Speaker 2: by people, they point, they judge. They try to create
- 11:19Speaker 2: a scenario in their head of what somebody is like
- 11:24Speaker 2: based on what they look like. Oh, they got scruffy pants,
- 11:28Speaker 2: or they sit weird, or they have no friends, or
- 11:30Speaker 2: whatever the case may be. And then people go home
- 11:34Speaker 2: with that knowledge in their head of what they think
- 11:39Speaker 2: that person is and they tell others, Oh, I saw
- 11:42Speaker 2: that guy in the park again, or I saw this again,
- 11:45Speaker 2: and then they start spreading these opinions of somebody without
- 11:52Speaker 2: even knowing. It's like when you go to the library
- 11:55Speaker 2: and you're looking at books to take out, Oh I
- 11:57Speaker 2: haven't read a good novel in a while, and you
- 11:59Speaker 2: look and you see this cover and it's like, wow,
- 12:02Speaker 2: this looks intense, and halfway through the book you're like,
- 12:06Speaker 2: this sucks, this is boring. The cover was not what
- 12:11Speaker 2: the book is. And that's the same with people. Everybody
- 12:14Speaker 2: that you see going out there, the people that walk
- 12:16Speaker 2: down the street that are talking to themselves and you're like, oh,
- 12:20Speaker 2: look at that person. He's probably high or you know, drunk,
- 12:25Speaker 2: or whatever the case may be, and you don't realize
- 12:27Speaker 2: that maybe what they're doing is they're talking to themselves
- 12:30Speaker 2: because nobody else wants to talk to them, you know,
- 12:34Speaker 2: or maybe they do have challenges, or maybe they just
- 12:37Speaker 2: haven't been heard. Okay. And what you did that day,
- 12:43Speaker 2: sitting somebody down off the cuff, a lot of people
- 12:47Speaker 2: don't do that. They're afraid to do that. They're afraid
- 12:50Speaker 2: to walk up to. You know, when I go into
- 12:52Speaker 2: New York City there are people laying on the ground homeless,
- 12:56Speaker 2: and I go over and I say, hey, what's up?
- 12:59Speaker 2: How you doing? You know why you here? You want
- 13:03Speaker 2: to go get breakfast? People don't do that anymore. They're afraid,
- 13:08Speaker 2: and so instead of embracing other people, they judge. And
- 13:14Speaker 2: what you did was you showed me and a whole
- 13:19Speaker 2: bunch of other people that there are people out there
- 13:22Speaker 2: that if you just sit down and talk to them,
- 13:24Speaker 2: you find out that they have a story and that
- 13:27Speaker 2: that story is important to them, and that story is
- 13:32Speaker 2: what defined them. And it makes you understand it not
- 13:36Speaker 2: necessarily be sympathetic or empathetic to them, because I don't
- 13:40Speaker 2: think people want sympathy. I think they want to be
- 13:43Speaker 2: treated like everybody else and understood for who they aren't
- 13:46Speaker 2: accepted for who they are. And what you did that
- 13:49Speaker 2: day impressed me because that person was able to tell
- 13:55Speaker 2: a story that hopefully others will look at and say, say,
- 14:00Speaker 2: you know what, I totally misjudged. And anybody who persecutes
- 14:05Speaker 2: you for doing that, shame on them, because then what
- 14:09Speaker 2: they're doing is they're judging you, just as people judge
- 14:13Speaker 2: that person. And if we don't want to be judged,
- 14:17Speaker 2: we shouldn't be judging. That's how I see it. So
- 14:22Speaker 2: for anybody who negatively commented about your performance, I say,
- 14:28Speaker 2: shame on them, because everything you do is from the heart.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Everything you do. You don't have a mean bone in
- 14:35Speaker 2: your body. Well you do towards me, okay, you like
- 14:39Speaker 2: to be mean to me and pick on me, and
- 14:41Speaker 2: then I get your wife to tell you to fuck off. Okay,
- 14:45Speaker 2: But when you sit down with somebody and Mompellier, or
- 14:50Speaker 2: you sit down with somebody who is misunderstood, or you
- 14:55Speaker 2: sat down with somebody here who everybody knows is a druggie,
- 14:59Speaker 2: and know that that person is aggressive out there, but
- 15:02Speaker 2: you wanted to get that person's story so that we
- 15:07Speaker 2: can judge these people based on their story that they told,
- 15:12Speaker 2: not based on what other people told us. Because people
- 15:15Speaker 2: have told me about that guy that was here and
- 15:17Speaker 2: how he attacked an old man, and how he's aggressive
- 15:21Speaker 2: with panhandling, and how he does drugs. So I immediately,
- 15:26Speaker 2: based on everything I've heard about this person, I immediately
- 15:29Speaker 2: judged them, and that was wrong until you had them
- 15:34Speaker 2: here and I was able to see the pain that
- 15:39Speaker 2: person's going through and the way he's dealing with it
- 15:43Speaker 2: in such a negative way, and then to see him
- 15:47Speaker 2: in the park a little bit later getting stoned again.
- 15:50Speaker 2: I was able to create that decision and my opinion
- 15:54Speaker 2: based on facts that I saw and heard from the
- 15:57Speaker 2: person that you exposed used so that everybody would understand
- 16:03Speaker 2: and then we can formulate our own educated opinion. So
- 16:07Speaker 2: what you did out in the park that day sending
- 16:09Speaker 2: that person down and say, there are people out there
- 16:12Speaker 2: that say, oh, you kept them from a warm breakfast
- 16:15Speaker 2: or whatever. If that's what you feel, hey, we'll take
- 16:19Speaker 2: them out for a hot breakfast. This isn't about keeping
- 16:22Speaker 2: somebody from their food. This is about somebody who's so
- 16:26Speaker 2: misunderstood and people thought he was a druggie or a
- 16:30Speaker 2: junkie or an alki, when all he did was have
- 16:33Speaker 2: a physical condition that is literally controlling his life from
- 16:39Speaker 2: a lifestyle he used to have. Okay, he taught us something.
- 16:45Speaker 2: He taught us that one decision can affect your entire life.
- 16:51Speaker 2: And he made one decision that he thought was, eh,
- 16:54Speaker 2: what's the big deal? And the big deal is that
- 16:57Speaker 2: affected his life for the rest of his life and
- 17:01Speaker 2: turned him into somebody that people point at and stare
- 17:05Speaker 2: and judge instead of looking at it and saying, wow,
- 17:11Speaker 2: I was wrong for judging because I didn't know the story.
- 17:17Speaker 2: So because they're uncomfortable with their judgments, they're going to
- 17:22Speaker 2: project that now to you, that it's your fault because
- 17:25Speaker 2: you went out and exploited him. Meanwhile, you still text him,
- 17:32Speaker 2: You guys still chat, You're making plans to go out
- 17:34Speaker 2: to breakfast together because you want him to know that
- 17:38Speaker 2: maybe Barry doesn't like him, but there's somebody in Barry
- 17:43Speaker 2: that's on his side and if he needs services and help, you,
- 17:49Speaker 2: being a friend or somebody that understands him can instead
- 17:53Speaker 2: of throwing it at him, which will make him feel
- 17:56Speaker 2: bombarded and judged by being so somebody that understands him
- 18:02Speaker 2: and wants to be there for him as a human being,
- 18:05Speaker 2: you might be able to slowly ease him into some
- 18:08Speaker 2: kind of programs and things to help him. Because when
- 18:12Speaker 2: you go up to somebody who's suffering and you say
- 18:15Speaker 2: I know how to help you, they're going to turn
- 18:17Speaker 2: you away. They're going to say, who the hell are
- 18:19Speaker 2: you to judge me? But if you become somebody they
- 18:24Speaker 2: can trust and like, and then you say, you know,
- 18:27Speaker 2: I heard of this place where we can go, and Bubba,
- 18:30Speaker 2: you want to go, he may be more receptive to help.
- 18:34Speaker 2: So good for you. Good for you for that program,
- 18:36Speaker 2: and shame on anybody who judges that. And for those
- 18:39Speaker 2: people that commented negatively about the person and you're getting
- 18:45Speaker 2: the flack for it, shame on them too. If you
- 18:50Speaker 2: don't like what somebody said that commented in your podcast,
- 18:54Speaker 2: if you don't like what they said, address it to them,
- 18:58Speaker 2: don't yell at you. You can't control what's coming in
- 19:00Speaker 2: on the on their comment. You can only delete it afterwards.
- 19:06Speaker 2: So I was really impressed because when I first saw it,
- 19:10Speaker 2: I was like, wh what is this crapp He's doing
- 19:12Speaker 2: what's on? And then I listened and I was like, wow, Wow,
- 19:16Speaker 2: I've never seen this guy. But now if I see him,
- 19:19Speaker 2: I won't be so quick to point or chuckle or
- 19:22Speaker 2: laugh or make fun of I'll say, wow, there's that guy.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Good for him. He's still going strong, he's still persevering,
- 19:32Speaker 2: he's still trying. So kudos to you for that. Kudos
- 19:36Speaker 2: to you for that. Last night I was sitting at
- 19:41Speaker 2: the park with my friend Bob. Thank you for saying that.
- 19:46Speaker 2: G It's the truth. And you know me. I don't
- 19:51Speaker 2: I don't kiss ass and I don't say things to
- 19:55Speaker 2: make somebody happy. If I didn't like something you did,
- 19:59Speaker 2: first of all, I would do it on air out
- 20:00Speaker 2: because it's inappropriate. I would pull you aside and say
- 20:05Speaker 2: not a good move or not a good look on you.
- 20:08Speaker 2: That was a good move, and that was a really
- 20:10Speaker 2: good look on the person.
- 20:16Speaker 1: My friend Bob last night was sitting next to me
- 20:21Speaker 1: and said, I've seen that guy many times and drew
- 20:33Speaker 1: some conclusions. Yep, but didn't know anything about him until
- 20:44Speaker 1: I watched and listen to his story. It was very brief.
- 20:50Speaker 1: It was only like fifteen twenty minutes.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but see that's the thing about our society,
- 20:57Speaker 2: you know. They say, Oh, Barry, it's such a close knit.
- 21:00Speaker 2: We're all tight. We're like family here. We protect our
- 21:04Speaker 2: own we're all about our groups and all this stuff.
- 21:10Speaker 2: That's bullshit. Okay, I call bullshit on that, because if
- 21:15Speaker 2: we're all so tightly grouped together, and oh, I don't
- 21:19Speaker 2: want to live in a city, nobody knows you in
- 21:21Speaker 2: this city. Here we know each other. We say hello,
- 21:23Speaker 2: we shake hands, we get together. But bullshit, I call
- 21:28Speaker 2: bullshit on that. Okay, because people in Barrie are like
- 21:33Speaker 2: everywhere else. We all judge, we all stab each other
- 21:37Speaker 2: in the backs, we're all sneaky, we all have our
- 21:41Speaker 2: own lives, and if their lives don't match our lives,
- 21:44Speaker 2: we push them out. Okay. So there's something to say
- 21:49Speaker 2: about small towns and communities, both plus and minus. The
- 21:55Speaker 2: plus is if we have a flood, everybody comes together
- 21:59Speaker 2: in this small community to help each other. Okay. But
- 22:03Speaker 2: the minus is if you do something, someone's up your ass,
- 22:08Speaker 2: judging you and talking behind your back and saying things
- 22:13Speaker 2: that are inappropriate. Okay. I'm a city guy, and I
- 22:18Speaker 2: like being in the city because I'm there in the
- 22:20Speaker 2: city with me and my friends or my world, and
- 22:24Speaker 2: nobody else knows me, nobody knows my business, and nobody judges. Okay,
- 22:31Speaker 2: nobody drives past my house and says, that's the gay
- 22:34Speaker 2: couple's house. Here they do. I've had people say to me,
- 22:40Speaker 2: I know where you live. A gay couple lived there
- 22:43Speaker 2: and then you guys bought it, so it must be
- 22:45Speaker 2: the gay house. And I'm like, are you kidding me?
- 22:48Speaker 2: Right now? Okay? And if I say something wrong on
- 22:53Speaker 2: the air, everyone in town's gonna judge me. And I say,
- 22:59Speaker 2: you know what. To those who don't judge, or those
- 23:02Speaker 2: who get all the facts first, good for you. But
- 23:05Speaker 2: for those of you who judge behind people's back and
- 23:08Speaker 2: then go to church on Sunday, okay and profess the
- 23:14Speaker 2: word of God and then use this social media to
- 23:19Speaker 2: hide behind you cowards. It's so easy to type something
- 23:26Speaker 2: because you send it and you forget it. I challenge
- 23:30Speaker 2: people who have something to say to come sit here
- 23:35Speaker 2: and say it to the face. Enough of this back talking,
- 23:40Speaker 2: back and forth. He said, she said somebody told me
- 23:43Speaker 2: something the other day and I was like, oh, you
- 23:45Speaker 2: saw that. No, my friend's sister saw it and told me.
- 23:48Speaker 2: And now I'm telling you, I was like, Oh, who
- 23:50Speaker 2: the fuck is your friend's sister. People go back to
- 23:55Speaker 2: when you were in junior high or elementary school, the
- 23:59Speaker 2: game telephone, where you started here and said one phrase
- 24:03Speaker 2: and by the time it got there, it was totally
- 24:05Speaker 2: different and we all laughed, Oh, it's funny, it came
- 24:09Speaker 2: out different at the end. But that was a lesson
- 24:12Speaker 2: being taught that we were too ignorant at that age
- 24:16Speaker 2: to understand. And that lesson is if it's hearsay, and
- 24:21Speaker 2: that's why the courts say it's here, say you can't
- 24:24Speaker 2: admit it into evidence because if it's hearsay and not
- 24:27Speaker 2: from the person's mouth, then shut the fuck up leave
- 24:33Speaker 2: people alone. So you've been getting hits for being honest
- 24:39Speaker 2: and real, for bringing it from the person's mouth to
- 24:43Speaker 2: everyone's ears, and you've gotten persecuted for that. Why because
- 24:49Speaker 2: the guy's breakfast went from warm to cold? Come on,
- 24:54Speaker 2: is that all you people can complain about? All right,
- 25:00Speaker 2: let's talk about the facts. The facts. Here's a person
- 25:02Speaker 2: who needs help, who needs understanding and needs not to
- 25:06Speaker 2: be talked about behind their back, and you showed us,
- 25:11Speaker 2: you educated us on the fact that people have stories Okay,
- 25:17Speaker 2: I have a story. I have a very deep story,
- 25:22Speaker 2: a painful story. I hide my story with humor, okay,
- 25:28Speaker 2: but I have a very serious side of me, and
- 25:32Speaker 2: that serious side is tired of everybody persecuting everybody else. Well,
- 25:37Speaker 2: you know what, if you like her, I can't be
- 25:41Speaker 2: friends with you because I don't like her. I had
- 25:44Speaker 2: somebody who was going to buy something from me online,
- 25:48Speaker 2: and I put it on hold and negotiated a price
- 25:51Speaker 2: in everything, and at the last minute, the person ghosted
- 25:55Speaker 2: me because they're friends with somebody else who doesn't like me.
- 25:59Speaker 2: So that person told them about me, and I lost
- 26:02Speaker 2: the sale. How fair is that? Okay, So before you
- 26:09Speaker 2: judge other people, check yourself. Look in that mirror. Because
- 26:13Speaker 2: some of you put on clothes and you come out.
- 26:15Speaker 2: We wonder have you looked in the mirror yet? But
- 26:18Speaker 2: maybe they're just happy wearing those clothes. That's how I
- 26:23Speaker 2: see it. Sorry if I'm preaching people, but it burns
- 26:29Speaker 2: my bubble when somebody good is persecuted for doing good
- 26:37Speaker 2: instead of understanding the person. And if you got the
- 26:39Speaker 2: balls to persecute them online, come on in here. Let's
- 26:42Speaker 2: hear your phrase. Let's hear what you got to say,
- 26:45Speaker 2: but be ready, be ready, because we'll call you out
- 26:50Speaker 2: on your bullshit. Well now that everybody's down and.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Dumped, oh you know, uh, just keeping it real, yeah,
- 27:05Speaker 1: just airing it out. And that's.
- 27:14Speaker 2: It saddens me because what it does is it brings
- 27:16Speaker 2: you down, and then you go on the air and
- 27:20Speaker 2: you're not feeling what you need to feel to do
- 27:24Speaker 2: your job. And your job is to educate, to teach
- 27:29Speaker 2: people about the world, to introduce humor, okay, because there's
- 27:36Speaker 2: not enough laughing in this world with evering that's going
- 27:40Speaker 2: on in politics and in the government, and the unstableness
- 27:44Speaker 2: of the left and the right and the woke and
- 27:46Speaker 2: the not woke, and the gay and the straight, and
- 27:48Speaker 2: the blacks and the whites and all this stuff. With
- 27:51Speaker 2: all this mess, you get up every fucking morning and
- 27:57Speaker 2: you sit there at your desk and you entertain, You
- 28:01Speaker 2: say funny things, you give news, you give information, and
- 28:06Speaker 2: you introduce us to people out there that we've only
- 28:11Speaker 2: seen and judged. And the more we see what you
- 28:15Speaker 2: show us, the more we're learning that maybe we judged
- 28:19Speaker 2: just a little long. And I love you for that, okay,
- 28:24Speaker 2: And that's why we're such good friends because we can
- 28:27Speaker 2: laugh and make fun of things, but deep down inside
- 28:30Speaker 2: our heart is as pure as it can be when
- 28:32Speaker 2: it comes to other people.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Tuesday morning, if folks haven't had a chance to go
- 28:43Speaker 1: and see that brief, I don't want to even say
- 28:48Speaker 1: podcast episode, because I mean, I just.
- 28:52Speaker 2: You're walking down the street. You saw this person and
- 28:54Speaker 2: you knew people were talking about them, and you just
- 28:56Speaker 2: want to know, do you have a story? And the
- 28:59Speaker 2: person said yes, and you said I would love for
- 29:01Speaker 2: the world to know, and he says, hook me up.
- 29:04Speaker 2: So you did. The comments, Oh, they're probably persecuting me.
- 29:12Speaker 1: No, no, no. The comments from that interview with Jared,
- 29:20Speaker 1: some of them are unbelievable. I mean, I'm being beat
- 29:24Speaker 1: up for not for for letting his pancakes get cold. Yeah,
- 29:31Speaker 1: I mean had he had his breakfast.
- 29:33Speaker 2: There, but he was able and willing.
- 29:37Speaker 1: The comments about you know, I hope you got him
- 29:40Speaker 1: a hot breakfast afterwards, I mean.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Again said on social media, because they don't have the
- 29:47Speaker 2: bulls to come in here and say it. Okay, they
- 29:52Speaker 2: don't have it. It's so easy to say something on
- 29:56Speaker 2: social media. It's so easy to text somebody fuck you,
- 30:00Speaker 2: you send block so what you did was you made
- 30:05Speaker 2: yourself feel better. You patted yourself on the back by
- 30:09Speaker 2: saying fuck you. You sent it to somebody to upset them,
- 30:13Speaker 2: and then you blocked so they can't say anything back.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Because those are the bulls. You got shriveled up little raisins,
- 30:20Speaker 2: because you can't even walk with a set of bulls.
- 30:24Speaker 2: So if you got something to say, say it and
- 30:27Speaker 2: then face it. Okay, If I'm going to have an
- 30:30Speaker 2: issue with you, j D, I'm going to say it
- 30:32Speaker 2: to your face and give you the opportunity to retort.
- 30:37Speaker 1: These comments are on that Tuesday episode with Jarrett very
- 30:45Speaker 1: easy to go back and rewatch and the comments will
- 30:49Speaker 1: come up as this twenty minute chat with Jarrett place.
- 31:04Speaker 1: I I want to hear what my listeners, what my
- 31:14Speaker 1: followers have aired out have to say about this, right,
- 31:19Speaker 1: I really, I really care what they have to say
- 31:26Speaker 1: right about it. And the thing is, I wish everyone
- 31:29Speaker 1: would go and read some of these comments.
- 31:32Speaker 2: And the thing is, if they have something negative to say,
- 31:37Speaker 2: then come down here. Let's talk about it like adults.
- 31:40Speaker 1: I just.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Look, you can't please all the people some of the time,
- 31:46Speaker 2: or you can please all the people some of the time,
- 31:48Speaker 2: but you can't please them all. Okay, whatever that phrase is,
- 31:51Speaker 2: you all know what I'm talking about. Okay, I'm a
- 31:54Speaker 2: little phone off this morning because JD put me in
- 31:56Speaker 2: a corner and I'm not used to being in a corner.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I'm used to taking up space. I'm a skinny guy
- 32:04Speaker 2: that needs a lot of space. Okay, you're a fat
- 32:10Speaker 2: guy and you got all the space.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Well, I mean, am I wrong?
- 32:18Speaker 1: Right?
- 32:19Speaker 2: I'm very excited about when we go on vacation because
- 32:21Speaker 2: of the fact that you're going to take that shirt
- 32:25Speaker 2: off in public and I am going to have to
- 32:28Speaker 2: probably put lemons on my eyes because it'll be just
- 32:32Speaker 2: as painful.
- 32:34Speaker 1: So have you ever seen me with my shirt off?
- 32:37Speaker 2: How could I not? You do it all the time.
- 32:39Speaker 2: You're always lifting your shirt up, You're putting on fake
- 32:43Speaker 2: belts and taking your shirt off, and it's like a
- 32:48Speaker 2: shirtless gnome.
- 32:52Speaker 1: When we're together on vacation, you, I'm going to be scared.
- 32:57Speaker 1: You might even see the whole full burd.
- 33:00Speaker 2: New New Speedos.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Birthday soon, God help us. Anyway, about a year ago,
- 33:14Speaker 1: I digressed. Sorry About a year ago, I was up
- 33:19Speaker 1: at about Maplefield and I was getting gas and I
- 33:28Speaker 1: was getting a sandwich and this guy I met and
- 33:39Speaker 1: we started chatting. He was holding up a sign, and
- 33:48Speaker 1: instead of give him a buck, I just asked him,
- 33:57Speaker 1: what's your story? He wasn't expecting me to ask him, right,
- 34:01Speaker 1: what's your story? And he was kind of a young guy,
- 34:08Speaker 1: and he took his sign down and he sat and
- 34:12Speaker 1: chatted with me. Immediately. I've got people texting me saying,
- 34:22Speaker 1: don't believe everything that he's telling you. I don't. And
- 34:46Speaker 1: I also I also don't need to be reminded that
- 34:55Speaker 1: I shouldn't believe every word that's coming out of somebody's mouths.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Right. Well, that's kind of makes that kind of insult
- 35:05Speaker 2: it's you, because it's saying that you're not smart enough
- 35:09Speaker 2: to decipher.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I've I'm fifty four years old, gee.
- 35:14Speaker 2: And you've talked to many many people over the years.
- 35:19Speaker 2: There we have learned to weed thru shit, okay. And
- 35:24Speaker 2: that's the other.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Thing is, but I still want them to speak, even
- 35:28Speaker 1: if they're telling me something that's that's.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Well, that's a half truth or see and that whatever.
- 35:35Speaker 2: That's the beauty about us as individuals is we can
- 35:38Speaker 2: hear a story and decipher for ourselves what we feel
- 35:43Speaker 2: sure may be true in that story, and what may
- 35:46Speaker 2: not be true in that story, But it doesn't mean
- 35:49Speaker 2: we're right yes, because I've heard stories that are so
- 35:53Speaker 2: outlandish and I'm like, ah, yeah, right, and then the
- 35:56Speaker 2: person bulls out a metal and shows me that they
- 35:58Speaker 2: actually got it for doing that, like ooh, egg on
- 36:01Speaker 2: my face. Yeah, so yeah, But you don't need to
- 36:05Speaker 2: be told at your age what to believe and what
- 36:08Speaker 2: not to believe. That's up to you to decide.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Right immediately after my and I said to him, do
- 36:20Speaker 1: you want to share your story? And he said, yes,
- 36:26Speaker 1: meet me here tomorrow. Right there it was. It was
- 36:30Speaker 1: another park bench. Yep, meet me there tomorrow, and I'm
- 36:33Speaker 1: going to share my whole story, which he had he
- 36:36Speaker 1: had shared with me off the air, right in our conversation, right,
- 36:41Speaker 1: but then he said he was willing to share it
- 36:43Speaker 1: on the air right the next day. I'll never forget this.
- 36:49Speaker 1: This was a year ago. I put that in interview,
- 37:01Speaker 1: which for his convenient time was five o'clock. I put
- 37:09Speaker 1: that interview ahead of attending Lily's softball practice.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Which is something you don't usually do.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I never have done, right, And he didn't show up.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I waited for him. He still didn't show up. By
- 37:44Speaker 1: the time I packed up my stuff and drove away
- 37:50Speaker 1: and raced to Lily's softball practice, which was about forty
- 37:58Speaker 1: minutes away. I got there for like the last ten
- 38:04Speaker 1: minutes of it.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Mhmm.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I had a local police officer who texted me saying,
- 38:20Speaker 1: the guy's a con his story's not real and literally
- 38:27Speaker 1: his house I'm quoting here. His house did not burn down.
- 38:34Speaker 1: He doesn't have a house. Right, you're being conned. People
- 38:42Speaker 1: are protective of me that way. But I also lost.
- 38:56Speaker 2: I don't.
- 38:56Speaker 1: I don't know if listen. The older I get, the
- 39:00Speaker 1: more I am having a clear definition of what a
- 39:07Speaker 1: friend is. And I like to say everybody is my friend.
- 39:12Speaker 1: But that's a very h the more time that goes
- 39:16Speaker 1: by in my life.
- 39:17Speaker 2: It's a very broad, ignorant statement.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that word is has a different meaning now for me.
- 39:26Speaker 2: It's precious.
- 39:27Speaker 1: It is precious. There's some separation going on, there's acquaintances
- 39:33Speaker 1: and there's friends. You're a friend. I can call you
- 39:37Speaker 1: at two o'clock in the morning and say I need
- 39:39Speaker 1: you here right now, or I need to drop Lily
- 39:43Speaker 1: off right now. And I've got those friends. They know
- 39:48Speaker 1: who they are. Believe me, one of them is listening
- 39:52Speaker 1: right now. But there was a lady that was a
- 40:03Speaker 1: very close acquaintance I'll say that was listening that day
- 40:12Speaker 1: when this guy didn't show up and unloaded and shamed me.
- 40:23Speaker 1: And here's the word again, I'm going to use it,
- 40:28Speaker 1: exploiting this guy. And I remember being so taken back
- 40:38Speaker 1: by that. And we got into a personal text and
- 40:45Speaker 1: I said, please, let's get together so that we can
- 40:49Speaker 1: talk about this face to face. And it was, you know,
- 41:00Speaker 1: I thought I knew you. I can't believe that you
- 41:03Speaker 1: would exploit someone like this. Shame on you, blah blah blah.
- 41:06Speaker 1: You're better than that. I mean, it was really like wow, right.
- 41:13Speaker 1: I addressed it on the air several times, and oh,
- 41:25Speaker 1: I'll say this again. Gee, I'm at the cusp of
- 41:34Speaker 1: ten thousand followers.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Yep.
- 41:38Speaker 1: I would rather have a thousand. I'd rather have five
- 41:45Speaker 1: hundred followers that really know who I am and what
- 41:53Speaker 1: my intentions are and what my heart where my heart
- 41:58Speaker 1: is than ten thousand who don't know me or kind
- 42:07Speaker 1: of know me or think that they know me. That's
- 42:15Speaker 1: where I'm at. Man, It's like, well, I just my
- 42:21Speaker 1: intentions are good. They are not to create sensationalized content, right.
- 42:34Speaker 1: My intentions are for people to share their stories. We
- 42:43Speaker 1: all have stories. I see people walk up and down
- 42:50Speaker 1: this street, North Main Street constantly. I have for eight years. Businessmen, briefcases,
- 43:02Speaker 1: and folks that are pretty rough around the edges. Every
- 43:10Speaker 1: single one of them has a story. Yes, not one
- 43:14Speaker 1: of them is perfect. As a matter of fact, we're
- 43:17Speaker 1: all walking around with probably more faults than anything else.
- 43:23Speaker 1: My intentions are for others to share their stories to
- 43:29Speaker 1: enlighten me. Just like Jarrett did on the park punch
- 43:34Speaker 1: the other day, I didn't know what his story was.
- 43:40Speaker 1: He admitted that he was being stupid and decided to
- 43:46Speaker 1: do something very dangerous and in a quick decision that
- 43:53Speaker 1: lasted probably less than a minute. He's got a traumatic
- 43:57Speaker 1: brain injury that's impacted the rest of us. He's lost
- 44:01Speaker 1: all of his friends, his family, and he's alone on
- 44:06Speaker 1: a park bench in Barry Right. His story stayed with me,
- 44:21Speaker 1: It got under my skin. It stayed with me. It
- 44:24Speaker 1: impacted me, and I even said to him on the air,
- 44:31Speaker 1: I'm going to be thinking about you for the rest
- 44:36Speaker 1: of the day. Your story has resonated with me. It
- 44:42Speaker 1: is my hope gee that when others can share their
- 44:47Speaker 1: stories that it will resonate with my audience, maybe even
- 44:53Speaker 1: with me.
- 44:56Speaker 2: And it helps to educate your audience so they're not
- 44:59Speaker 2: quite as judgmental. And I find that people that are
- 45:03Speaker 2: insecure or people who don't have enough fulfillment in their
- 45:10Speaker 2: life spend a lot of their time judging others, so
- 45:15Speaker 2: that that makes them feel better. And that's said, that's it.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I understand. It gives them the power they need, right okay,
- 45:24Speaker 2: because well, my life sucks, or I don't have a girlfriend,
- 45:29Speaker 2: or I don't you know, I don't have a nice
- 45:31Speaker 2: house like this person. And that's the other thing that
- 45:34Speaker 2: makes me laugh. When somebody has something nice, people who
- 45:39Speaker 2: don't have market okay, And it's like really, but in
- 45:46Speaker 2: the flip side, people that have things nice mark those
- 45:51Speaker 2: who don't. And I say why, If you've earned what
- 45:56Speaker 2: you've got, then own it, okay, But you don't have
- 46:01Speaker 2: to compare your apples to somebody's bananas, okay. And when
- 46:06Speaker 2: you have somebody like this gentleman who's sitting on a bench,
- 46:11Speaker 2: okay because he has no friends, he has no anything.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Well, connection to his community engagement. Yeah, it's not there.
- 46:21Speaker 2: And so we feel bad for this person now that
- 46:26Speaker 2: we understand the situation, But how do we deal with
- 46:30Speaker 2: our uncomfortableness. Let's attack you, or let's attack somebody else.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Shame on you for exploiting this person. You didn't exploit
- 46:40Speaker 2: this person. You asked this person, would you like to
- 46:44Speaker 2: share your story? This person, being an individual, has the
- 46:48Speaker 2: right to say yes or no. And this person looked
- 46:52Speaker 2: at you and said absolutely.
- 46:55Speaker 1: And that's when I turned on the microphone.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Right because this person wanted you and everyone you reach
- 47:02Speaker 2: out to to stop fucking judging him and see him
- 47:08Speaker 2: as not somebody with a TBI or somebody who drinks
- 47:12Speaker 2: too much or somebody who does drugs. He wants you
- 47:16Speaker 2: and the world to see him as him. And if
- 47:21Speaker 2: you can't accept him for him, then step the fuck
- 47:24Speaker 2: away and keep your mouth shut. You don't have to
- 47:29Speaker 2: like everybody that you see, and you don't have to
- 47:32Speaker 2: approve of everybody. But if you don't like it, or
- 47:37Speaker 2: you don't approve of it, and you have nothing productive
- 47:40Speaker 2: to do to help, then just shut the fuck up,
- 47:45Speaker 2: keep it to yourself. You know, when I was a teenager,
- 47:49Speaker 2: high teens, graduating high school, me and my friend jimmy
- 47:54Speaker 2: best friend in the world at the time. We'd go
- 47:57Speaker 2: to New York all the time to have Burger King.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I know it sounds weird. We lived on Long Island
- 48:03Speaker 2: and we would literally after school get on the Long
- 48:05Speaker 2: Island railroad and go all the way into the city,
- 48:09Speaker 2: thirty five to forty minute train ride, get out at
- 48:12Speaker 2: Penn station, go upstairs, go one block, have burger at
- 48:18Speaker 2: Burger King, and they get on the train and come back,
- 48:21Speaker 2: just so we could say we were in the city, okay.
- 48:25Speaker 2: And what used to burn his bubble was because it
- 48:29Speaker 2: was him My time together was when I'd stop and
- 48:33Speaker 2: talk to somebody that was sitting on the ground with
- 48:37Speaker 2: cardboard underneath them and a big pull along basket filled
- 48:43Speaker 2: with empty bottles and would junk and stuff that they
- 48:48Speaker 2: perceived as important to them. And I would stop and
- 48:52Speaker 2: I would talk to them and say, hey, how you doing,
- 48:57Speaker 2: what's going on? And they'd say, can I have some money.
- 48:59Speaker 2: I'd be like, no, I'm not going to give you money,
- 49:02Speaker 2: but I'll buy you a burger, I'll get your shake.
- 49:07Speaker 2: And my friend Jimmy would always be like so annoyed,
- 49:11Speaker 2: and one time. When we got back to his house,
- 49:14Speaker 2: we were hanging out, and I said to him, what
- 49:17Speaker 2: is your damage? Every time we go to the city
- 49:19Speaker 2: and I decide I'm going to talk to somebody, you
- 49:22Speaker 2: get annoyed. Why, Well, you don't know what these They
- 49:25Speaker 2: could be dangerous, they could be whatever, and we don't
- 49:27Speaker 2: We go in to have a good time, not for
- 49:29Speaker 2: you to be holier than now and this and that.
- 49:33Speaker 2: And I said to him, all I'm doing is talking
- 49:35Speaker 2: to a person. You're turning this into an event. And
- 49:40Speaker 2: all I'm doing is talking to somebody, just saying, hey,
- 49:45Speaker 2: I see you. And sometime I buy them a burger
- 49:51Speaker 2: and sometime they get a little loud, and so I
- 49:53Speaker 2: will just walk away. But they are person. So what
- 49:58Speaker 2: did you do? So go long on that Tuesday, JD.
- 50:04Speaker 1: I allowed his pancakes to get cold.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and in the meantime exploited and expose this person.
- 50:14Speaker 1: For knowledge.
- 50:16Speaker 2: So the rest of the community would leave him the
- 50:18Speaker 2: fuck alone. Okay, the rest of the community would understand
- 50:23Speaker 2: instead of judging blindly. And if somebody really, really really
- 50:28Speaker 2: wants to protect that person, go talk to that person yourself,
- 50:33Speaker 2: or for that person assistance, take him out for lunch,
- 50:36Speaker 2: bring him a cold drink. Don't hide behind this and judge.
- 50:42Speaker 2: You take what you saw and say, wow, this person
- 50:48Speaker 2: really is just a person. And if you want to help,
- 50:55Speaker 2: don't criticize. Help. That's my interpretation. Okay, we walk the
- 51:03Speaker 2: other way when we see weirdness. Somebody's talking to themselves
- 51:08Speaker 2: in the streets, so you cross and walk on the
- 51:10Speaker 2: other sidewalk. Why it's just a person. Oh, they say
- 51:18Speaker 2: to their kids, don't look, don't stare. It's not polite
- 51:21Speaker 2: to stare. It's also not polite to ignore and mistreat people.
- 51:26Speaker 2: And that's what you're doing when you walk the other
- 51:28Speaker 2: way instead of acknowledging and just saying good morning as
- 51:32Speaker 2: you walk by.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Look, I'm gonna be really straight with you, and well,
- 51:43Speaker 1: you're straight. My listeners followers some of the comments Rex's, Janine's, Karen's,
- 52:08Speaker 1: I mean Rex's comment I deleted, right, And Rex is
- 52:13Speaker 1: a friend of mine, right, And if he wasn't having
- 52:19Speaker 1: surgery right now, he'd probably be here. But if he's
- 52:24Speaker 1: up for it, I'll have him on the air tomorrow.
- 52:28Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about this.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Just because they're good friends of yours doesn't mean you
- 52:33Speaker 2: have to agree with everything they say. Hey, you and
- 52:37Speaker 2: I've been friends forever. I consider you like a brother, okay,
- 52:41Speaker 2: and I consider your wife like my best friend. But
- 52:46Speaker 2: I don't necessarily have to agree with you about it.
- 52:49Speaker 2: And when I don't, I say to you, I call
- 52:52Speaker 2: you out, I say bullshit, and then you explain, and
- 52:56Speaker 2: I'm like, Okay, I see where you're coming from. Still
- 52:59Speaker 2: don't like it, but you're still my best friend. Do
- 53:03Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. When you're married to somebody,
- 53:08Speaker 2: you can love them to death for the rest of
- 53:10Speaker 2: your life, but you don't have to like them all
- 53:12Speaker 2: the time. Same thing with your kids. You don't have
- 53:16Speaker 2: to like people all the time. But if the foundation
- 53:21Speaker 2: of the relationship is there, then the little things can
- 53:26Speaker 2: be fixed. And if they can't, then you reassess your relationship.
- 53:33Speaker 1: This uh, right there, what you were just talking about
- 53:37Speaker 1: is going to be a subject that I am going
- 53:45Speaker 1: to unbox one of these days. It's a separate subject
- 53:51Speaker 1: from what we're talking about this morning, but I have
- 53:57Speaker 1: I like to think of it as a box where
- 54:00Speaker 1: I'm putting They're all separate boxes, but I'm putting thoughts
- 54:05Speaker 1: in thoughts and thoughts feelings into that box, yep, And
- 54:11Speaker 1: I am going to be opening that at some point.
- 54:16Speaker 1: I've come close a few times, but I'm still putting
- 54:20Speaker 1: more things in the box. Loyalty, friendship, devotion, you know.
- 54:34Speaker 1: I I've had people say to me and I'm sure
- 54:40Speaker 1: you have to I can't believe you're friends with that guy.
- 54:43Speaker 2: Yep.
- 54:44Speaker 1: I can't believe you're friends with that guy. I can't
- 54:47Speaker 1: believe you're friends with Rex. I can't believe your friends
- 54:51Speaker 1: with Dwayne. I can't believe you're friends with g I
- 55:00Speaker 1: could list off ten more off the top of my
- 55:02Speaker 1: head right now, And.
- 55:06Speaker 2: My question is, why do you have to believe anything?
- 55:09Speaker 2: What business is it about yours to believe who he's
- 55:13Speaker 2: friends with?
- 55:14Speaker 1: I have friends, I have family who screw up badly
- 55:23Speaker 1: all the time, all the time. Some do publicly, some
- 55:32Speaker 1: do privately. But I ask myself, Yes, they screwed up,
- 55:43Speaker 1: Yes they did this, Yes they did that, But are
- 55:47Speaker 1: they are they even if they fucked up really bad?
- 55:53Speaker 1: Are they loyal to you?
- 55:58Speaker 2: Right?
- 56:00Speaker 1: If you need them? Will they come running?
- 56:05Speaker 2: Right?
- 56:07Speaker 1: That's the question that I ask myself. And I know
- 56:12Speaker 1: who those friends are, and if they say something or
- 56:17Speaker 1: do something publicly or privately that is bad in the
- 56:31Speaker 1: eyes of our society, unjustified, inappropriate.
- 56:37Speaker 2: In the eyes of society.
- 56:39Speaker 1: In the eyes of society, I still ask myself, I
- 56:43Speaker 1: may say privately to them, dude, you really fucked up.
- 56:48Speaker 1: That's really bad what you said, what you did whatever, right,
- 56:53Speaker 1: But you're still my friend and I am going to
- 56:57Speaker 1: be loyal to you as my friend.
- 56:59Speaker 2: Right.
- 57:05Speaker 1: That's a whole other subject. I Am going to unbox
- 57:08Speaker 1: this one and it's gonna be big. I would love
- 57:11Speaker 1: for you to be on the couch on that one, Oh,
- 57:13Speaker 1: I would love It's really gonna I am gonna know
- 57:16Speaker 1: what makes I'm gonna be so transparent, right, and you're
- 57:22Speaker 1: gonna get judged for that, of course, of course I
- 57:25Speaker 1: am okay.
- 57:26Speaker 2: And you know, it's funny when you talked about the box.
- 57:28Speaker 2: When I met Jed thirty plus years ago, he used
- 57:35Speaker 2: to ask me because Jed had stories too, because go figure,
- 57:41Speaker 2: and he would ask me, how do you deal with
- 57:43Speaker 2: all this shit? How do you deal with all this
- 57:46Speaker 2: this anxiety and this you know, coming out being gay
- 57:50Speaker 2: and having kids but telling them that you're not with
- 57:53Speaker 2: their mom anymore? How do you deal with all these
- 57:55Speaker 2: emotional things that go on in your life, which was
- 57:59Speaker 2: a pretty intelligent question.
- 58:01Speaker 1: You just lost a lot of people right there with it.
- 58:03Speaker 1: They're like, what what, Yeah, you got to go with
- 58:07Speaker 1: your story. One of these days we need to air
- 58:09Speaker 1: that out. That's fine, go ahead.
- 58:11Speaker 2: And I said to him something I learned years ago,
- 58:17Speaker 2: and I learned it in therapy classes when I was
- 58:20Speaker 2: learning social work and stuff. I take this shelf in
- 58:27Speaker 2: my head, and this shelf has many, many layers, and
- 58:34Speaker 2: on that shelf is a bunch of boxes, and I
- 58:38Speaker 2: put experiences, lessons, heartbreaks, anger, laughter. I put them in
- 58:47Speaker 2: their compartments where they belong, compartmentalizing, right, And when I
- 58:53Speaker 2: need to draw on them, I draw on the librarian
- 58:58Speaker 2: side of myself and I go through these boxes. I'm like, oh,
- 59:00Speaker 2: here you are, and I pull it out and I
- 59:03Speaker 2: use that to get me through something. And when I'm done,
- 59:08Speaker 2: I put it away. Because what happens is we all
- 59:11Speaker 2: keep this shit on us, and we walk around angry
- 59:17Speaker 2: and grumpy, okay, and we take it out on others.
- 59:23Speaker 2: I've learned to put it in places and if I'm
- 59:27Speaker 2: going to take it out on somebody, because that box,
- 59:30Speaker 2: when I opened it is overwhelming me. That day, I
- 59:34Speaker 2: tell them in advance, I'm not in the best of
- 59:37Speaker 2: moods today. Please don't be offended if I'm not what
- 59:41Speaker 2: you need today, because I recognize that I opened a
- 59:46Speaker 2: box that's going to be difficult to put away, and
- 59:50Speaker 2: sometimes that box is open for two three days. And
- 59:53Speaker 2: I'll be honest with you. I opened a box about
- 59:56Speaker 2: a month and a half ago, and it's been open
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: for a month and my neighbor got the brunt of
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: it because I cut her out. I stopped talking to her.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: I treated her like I never knew her because I
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: was dealing with my own shit and I didn't explain that.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: So when I finally went over a month later to
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: explain to her what I did what had happened, she
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: was crying and she was in tears because she said,
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: you hurt me. You made me feel like you were
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: done with me. So that was another thing I had
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: to put in that box, because that box is what
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: created this, and I had to take her hurt. I
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: had to work through it, and then I put it
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: in the box and finally closed the box. But guess
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: what she forgave, even though she didn't know why until
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: I told her. She said don't do that again, because
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: I can't come back from that a second time. And
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: I said fair, and we from that moment on went
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: back to exactly the way we were before. We were
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: very friendly and fun and joking and all that stuff again.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: So we all have those boxes and we open them up.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: But please, if you're going to open up, it's going
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: to pull you down. Let people know you're there. You're
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: in that spot.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I don't know if you and you and I have
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: been friends for a long long time, too long. I
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: don't know if we have even cane down that road.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: We haven't have we have, We've gone to the road
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: where we don't talk for months, god months, because you
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: have your life, I have mine. I don't want to
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: deal with shit. You're not in the mood to start something.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: So we just didn't talk for months and then we
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: see each other somewhere and it's like, we just talked yesterday. Yes,
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: And that's a friend. See, a friend doesn't have to
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: be up your ass twenty four to seven, right. But
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: if I call you after four months and not seeing
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: you and I say I need help, You're like, I'm there,
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: I'll help you. Gee, But we're going to talk about
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: why we haven't been talking too and we air that out, Okay,
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: and that's that's the people that you want in your life,
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: and those people that hide behind their social media and
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: their judgmentalness. My question is what made you the authority
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: to correct me? This is my world, this is my box.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: I can only fix what's in my world, and I
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: can only accept what's in my world. I can't fix
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: the whole world, but I can fix my corner of it.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: And sometimes my corner of the world is just me alone, right,
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: And when I feel that I need to be alone
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: in that corner, I let people know so as not
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: to hurt them, like I did to my neighbor. When
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: I hurt her and I heard her husband. Her husband
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: came over for something and he went back and said,
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: I'm not going back over there. I was treated like
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: I'm an idiot, and I didn't mean that. I just
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: was so engrossed in my little corner that I dragged
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: people into my corner that was not in a good spot. Okay.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Yet I'd come on the show every Thursday and clown
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: around and be funny because you know what, I know
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: how to compartmentalize and be appropriate and when I'm not appropriate.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: I know that I had to go to her and
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: I had to put my head down and say I'm sorry,
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Because if you don't recognize your faults and you don't
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: own them, then you're just as much of a loser
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: as the people on the internet that are talking behind
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: your back.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: There really is something to be said when you have
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: a friendship like that that has substance, because you and
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: I are both similar creatures in that if we have
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: an acquaintance or even you know, there's a fine line
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: between an acquaintance and a friend a friend.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: It makes a very dark, clear line, though some people
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: don't see it, but there is a line.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: There's a line. I've had relations I'll say, relationships where
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: when something starts to go wrong, I take a step back,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: and sometimes four or five steps back, maybe a week,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: maybe two or three weeks, whatever. And you already know
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: you know me so well, Sherylyn knows me. I process
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: things at a snail's pace, yep. And I will digest
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: things very slowly, and I will try to get up
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: to forty thousand feet and look at that relationship and
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: construct in my mind and in my heart the value
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: of it. What it brings to me what I've received
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: from it and whether it's worth dying on that hill,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: for whether it's worth going over to the neighbor's house
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: and knocking on the door and saying, hey, we need
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: to sit and work this out. Regardless of how badly
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: your feelings were hurt or whatever. If the fact that
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: you went over there and did that took that step,
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: that speaks more volumes than anything. If you and I
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: got into a massive fight.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Because you were wrong and I was right.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Which is normally the case, and you showed up at
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: my house, just the fact that you're there, You don't
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: even literally have to say a word. Just the fact
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: that you got in the car and you came to
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: my house.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: Is massive to me because you have to own it.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: How many times, and I don't want to get too
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: private here, but how many times has that happened in
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: my relationship with Sherilyn? I could never count, right in
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: twenty plus years right where she has demonstrated that, yep,
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: and she's done that more than I have.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: Well, it's part of growing It's part of growing and
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: growing up. You know, we all worry about ourselves, but
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: part of growing up is realizing that there's other people
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: out there that are just as affected by your behavior.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: People always say, well, you need to understand I was
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: not in the best I don't need to understand that.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: Why do I need to understand that? And that's what
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: she said to me. Okay. And I love Tracy, and
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Tracy loves me, and we're very close. But when one
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: of the things that I don't like to use is
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: the word but behind an apology, people do it all
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: the time, and as soon as they do it, I
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: tell them, your apology is not accepted because if you're
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: going to say to me, I know I treated you
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: badly and I feel so bad about that, but you
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: need to understand. I don't need to understand, you need
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: to explain, okay. And when I spoke to her and
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: I said to her, you just need to understand where
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: I was at, she says, why you didn't treat me
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: as a friend enough to explain where you're at? So
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: now you want me to understand it. And that was
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: very fair, you know. And when I saw her hearing,
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: I said to myself, Wow, the power you had to
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: hurt her. It's not right.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: But it's the relationships that we care about that are
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: worth having that interaction with.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but they always say the ones you love are
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: the ones you hurt the most. And it's not necessarily
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: what you said or did to them, it's how you
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: treated them because you trust them enough and you trust
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: your relationship enough with them that you could treat them badly. Sure,
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: and that's not how it goes, Okay. When you care
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: that deeply about something, you have to cherish that. You
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: don't abuse it. You cherish it, okay, And those who
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: find it worthy of them to judge, Wow, wow, are
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: you that holier than now? You know? I mean, I
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: don't want to get religious or anything, but he who
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: throws the first stone should be innocent, and there ain't
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: none of us that are innocent, Okay, So stop throwing
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: stones and try understanding, and if you don't like something,
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: confront the person honestly, not accusatory, Honestly, Hey, I need
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: to understand what you were thinking because I'm seeing it
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: a little differently, and then give you the opportunity to explain.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: And if they still don't like it, they can say
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: I still don't agree with you, and that's your prerogative.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: That's yeah, I you don't have to please everybody. I
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: would do anything if some of these individuals who are
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: upset that I was not considerate of the fact that
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Jarrett was trying to eat his breakfast, that they would
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: come on the air with me.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: Yeah, not to be persecuted, not to be picked on,
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: but to share their views so we can air out
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: and hopefully come to an understanding. Sure, and if we
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: don't come to an understanding, that's okay too. We don't
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: always have to leave a discussion feeling good. Okay. This
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: is You've got governors and senators who are doing open forums, okay,
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: where the community comes and they talk about things that
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: are pissing them off, and the governors answer them, and
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: the people get pissed at them and stuff like that,
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: and they leave annoyed. But at least things were said
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: and heard.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: But if you leave there and you're still angry, then
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: you didn't accomplish a goal. Yeah, okay, then you left
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: there still stubborn without understanding. If you understand someone else's
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: view but you don't agree with it, then you don't
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: leave angry.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: It's astonishing to me how we're all guilty of All
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: of us man are guilty of misunderstanding others misunderstanding their intentions.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: I've done it, we all have. And what we've learned
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: is ask more questions before you judge.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna just tell you how it is here. I
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: was really discouraged this morning when I saw when I
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: read some of the comments about that Tuesday park bench
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: chat with Jarrett, I was discouraged. And I still am.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: M hm, I just I really am. And it makes
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: me want to ask the followers of aired out, the
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: people that are watching and listening right now, what is
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: it that you want from this podcast? What is it
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: that you that that that you want? Do you do
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: you even want a podcast? Do you do you want
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: this experience? Do you want me to? You know, It's
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: like I feel like I just sometimes I can't win.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: It's like I get people that's like, Jad, you gotta
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: get go out more in the community. I want to.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: I want to hear, you know, more deeply organic stuff,
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: more personal stuff. I want to hear from this business owner.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: I want to hear from that guy. I want to
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: know his story. I mean, I hear that all the time.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: And here's the thing, and you know me, I love
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: having conversations with people. I love having conversations with strangers, all.
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: Walks of life. You live for that. There are times
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: when we're out and I'm like, could you shut up
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: and let's go already, because you're talking to somebody about
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: something that has nothing to do with anything.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: But when I do that, you get persecuted. I get
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: persecuted from some people who don't They either don't know me,
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: or they've never followed this podcast, they don't listen to
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: it regularly, and they just don't know me. And that's
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: fair enough. I can't expect everyone to know me, but
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: to judge me for trying to bring light to a
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: story about someone who is judged is counterintuitive.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: Listen, I'm gonna say this to you, friend to friend.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: Okay, am I wasting my time?
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: No? No, you're allowing a couple of ignorant I'm not
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: saying uneducated, but they're behaving ignorant. You're allowing a couple
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: of ignorant comments to rule something that you've created that
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: almost ten thousand people are following. Okay, that's like saying
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: the baseball coach told me I suck, so I'm never
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: going to play baseball again. That's one man's opinion. Okay,
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: if everybody messaged you and said shame on you. Then
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: I'd say you need to reevaluate the approach you took,
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: not necessarily change, but reevaluate. But what you did was
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: you got a message from a few people, an inappropriate
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: message actually, because that's something that should have been face
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: to face again, long text hidden behind social media, okay,
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: because they don't have the cajones to just contact you
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: and discuss it and understand what your thought process was,
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: and you understand what their thought process is. If you
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: persecute somebody on social media, what you're basically saying is
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: my opinion counts, yours doesn't. I'm right, end of story,
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: and nobody is ever one hundred percent right. I could
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: tell you the sky is blue, but guess what, there
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: may be an off white cloud over there. So you say, well,
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: it's kind of cloudy, and I'm like, no, the sky
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: is blue, but you're seeing another facet of the sky. Well,
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: these people are telling you that you're wrong without seeing
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: all the facets of what you do and why you
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: do it. It's and you're giving them credence to control.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: I understand what you're saying, GI, but for me, it's
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: it's discouraging when I can have a conversation like this
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: with with someone with there's so many takeaways from it, yep,
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: but too to see that. The biggest takeaway that some
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: some people got was that Jared's pancakes were cold. Right,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: And like I said, it's discouraging to me.
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: No, it's un I'm sorry, you're looking at ignorance.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: I'm sorry that I allowed his pancakes to get cold.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Right, I've already told Jarrett I'm sorry, and
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: he wrote back and laughed.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Right, he made the conscious choice.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna buy Jarrett breakfast. I'm also gonna go over
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: and have breakfast with him one of these mornings. Over
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: it enough ministries, it'll be hot. If I chat with
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: him on the air or off the air, make sure
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: he's had his hot breakfast first. I'm sorry that I
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: got caught up in my own curiosity of wanting to
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: hear his story and I put that ahead of his breakfast.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: I should have allowed him to have his breakfast first.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: And I'm sorry. Why are you shaking hand at me?
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: Because there's no apology necessary. The man laughed at you
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: when you told him you were sorry. His breakfast was
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: cold Okay. The only thing you're speaking about, the only
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: thing you should be concerned about was yours and his
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: emotional feelings during your conversation. And what he took out
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: of it was he got to air out the truth
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: for people. And what you got out of it was
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: you were able to give another human being a chance
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: to be heard and understood. And you're stuck on someone
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: else's concern for a cold breakfast. And my answer to
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: that is right, And my answer to that, bitch that
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: my answer to that is that person who is so
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: upset that he got a cold breakfast and who is
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: preaching holier than now? Where the fuck are you in
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: the park feeding him? I haven't seen you in the
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: park chatting with him. You can correct JD because he
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: took his hot or warm breakfast and made a cold
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: But where are you? Are you in the park helping
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: this person? Are you bringing this person lunch? Like I said,
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: it's easy to hide behind the social media, and this
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: person clearly knows how to get under your skin, okay,
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: And what should be under your skin is I'm sorry
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: you feel that way, not fuck you, I'm sorry you
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: feel that way. I'm sorry. That's the only thing you
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: took out of something that made this person feel good
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: and helped educate other people not to judge them. If
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: that's all you got out of it, go back and
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: watch it again and learn something.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: I just dropped the link that episode, yeah, on Tuesday.
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: But that episode is done, JD. And there's so many
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: other people who need to understand and learn more, and
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: you're helping people learn that. If we're going to be
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: such a tight community because we're a small town, okay,
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: then let's expose what's safe, what's not safe. Let's expose
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: the dangers and what's not danger. And this person sitting
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: on a park bench eating our pancakes because they can't
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: afford to buy themselves breakfast is not a danger. It's
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: a Hey, people, when you see this person, understand this
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: person and be kind. Okay, that's what you taught that day.
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: And for anybody who doesn't like that, I'm sorry you
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: feel that way. Have a great day. And if you'd
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: like to talk about it more, come on down and
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: let's talk about it. And I won't judge you, but
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: don't judge me, okay. Because the person, the one person
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: who sent you this long, long message, all they kept
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: doing was preaching God and preaching understanding and love and
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: all this stuff to you. But everything they said was
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: no love and understanding to you directly. It was judgmental,
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: which is not the preachings. Okay, Our Lord and Savior
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: didn't teach us to preach and judge. He taught us
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: to love one another and understand one another. And that's
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: a hard thing to swallow sometimes because people do things
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: to us and it's hard for us to understand, but
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: don't judge, especially if you don't know the person. So
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: that's that's my take on that. And for those of
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: you listening today that are saying, Jesus Christmas, G what
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: the hell, get off your soapbox, I'm not on a soapbox.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: I'm here to educate that there's going to be stories
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: that we're going to talk about that are positive and
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: stories that we're going to talk about that are negative.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: There are times I put the show on and you
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: have something on and that doesn't interest me, and I
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: shut it off. I don't criticize and say, hey, JD,
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: you shouldn't have done that because that bored me. I
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: just turn it off and I put it on the
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: next day. And if it's something that interests me, I
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: watch it. Okay. You people go through your Netflix and
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: everything else and you don't watch what you don't like,
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: and you watch what you like. If you don't like
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: a topic, don't judge it, just turn it off, move on.
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: And you JD allowing it to eat at you. That's
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: something you need to work with. It's not our fault
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: that you're eating it that way. If you don't like it,
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: spit it out and go for something else. But don't
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: let that one thing dictate how food tastes, because it
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: may taste like broccoli, and you don't like broccoli, so
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: don't eat it. That's all. That's my take on it.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: You heard it here first, folks.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: I didn't even I didn't even really want to go
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: on the air this morning.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: I know. You told me, I'm not really thinking that
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: I want to go on the air today, And I said,
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: if you don't want to, that's fine, But if you
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: want to, let's air out what people's comments can do
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: to somebody. Let's let people know to choose your words
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: wisely because one word, just one word, could really tear
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: somebody down. And that word, for you is explain when
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: that person said you exploited that. That sunk you. Now
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: pick yourself back up and say, you know what, I
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: know I didn't exploit it, and those who know me
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: know I didn't exploit. So that was their opinion. I'm
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: sorry you feel that way. That wasn't my intention. Move on.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: That's it. That doesn't control your life, all right. You
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: got a beautiful girl at home that you can't wait
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: to see. You've got a beautiful wife at home that
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: cooks and cleans for you and tells you when you're wrong,
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: and you know when she tells you you're wrong that
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: it's true. So why are you making a stranger tell
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: you you're wrong, be the end or be all? Because
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: they're not. Now when I tell you you're wrong, I'm
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: always right.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: Thank you for telling me this this morning.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: It's just a act. And I challenge that person and
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: anybody else who doesn't agree, to grow up and have
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: the conversation and don't hide behind social media because that's
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: too damn easy. That's a cowards way. I really think
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: that that's a cowards way. The one thing I hate
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: more than anything is texts and stuff because it gives
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: people the power to say they what they're thinking instead
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: of just being honest with the person directly, and they
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: put it out there for everybody to see to make
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: them feel self righteous.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: That's one thing about you, buddy, is we know where
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: you stand.
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: Yeah, well, actually I'm sitting.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: But thank you for coming on in the air with me.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: I love you, buddy, and you keep doing what you're doing,
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: because then I have no place to go on Thursdays.
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: If you don't, I love you too.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: It's out.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: Thanks chee passssssssssssss
