- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, this is a big game, and there
- 0:04Speaker 1: are so many concerns and questions. And I think the
- 0:08Speaker 1: biggest concern for me isn't just that Florida is currently losing.
- 0:12Speaker 2: It's how quickly.
- 0:13Speaker 1: things that made them successful have disappeared. You know, we
- 0:17Speaker 1: are not talking about one or two bad plays. We
- 0:20Speaker 1: are talking about a rushing offense that has become unrecognizable.
- 0:24Speaker 1: But I do think that it's fair to point out
- 0:27Speaker 1: Texas's own offense's concerns. You know, they have an incredibly
- 0:32Speaker 1: impressive roster. But in its last two games, Texas converted
- 0:36Speaker 1: only six of 26 third-down opportunities.
- 0:38Speaker 2: That's 23.1%.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Its three and out rate in the SEC is 48.1,
- 0:45Speaker 1: which is worst in the conference going.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Into this matchup.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Oklahoma held Texas to 41 yards of offense after halftime
- 0:54Speaker 1: last Saturday and arched through two fourth quarter.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Interceptions, including a pick six.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Texas scored just seven second half points against the Sooners.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I think all of that is really interesting. Texas has
- 1:06Speaker 1: the talent to put 40 points on the board. But
- 1:09Speaker 1: we're not seeing an offense that's consistently playing to its
- 1:12Speaker 1: talent level. The question is whether Florida's defense can actually
- 1:16Speaker 1: take advantage of that.
- 1:19Speaker 2: You know, I.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Am so interested to see what happens with this quarterback situation.
- 1:25Speaker 1: We already talked about how Philo was listed as questionable
- 1:28Speaker 1: in tonight's injury report.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Tramell Jones Jr.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Would obviously be the replacement if Philo can't go. I
- 1:34Speaker 1: kind of want to.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I don't want to say I want to see this
- 1:40Speaker 1: because I don't want Aaron Philo to be hurt, and
- 1:43Speaker 1: I trust whoever the coaches say is the best guy
- 1:46Speaker 1: for the job. I'm interested to see if Trammell can
- 1:49Speaker 1: deliver a spark, though. Sometimes it's not always the better
- 1:53Speaker 1: player that is able to help turn this team around,
- 1:55Speaker 1: and maybe there will be some juice there. in there
- 2:00Speaker 1: if Tramiel plays.
- 2:01Speaker 2: We won't know.
- 2:02Speaker 1: We'll get another injury report, I believe, Friday, and then
- 2:05Speaker 1: obviously we will know for sure on Saturday. But definitely
- 2:09Speaker 1: something we are keeping an eye on. If we have
- 2:12Speaker 1: a status update, tune into the channel because I'm sure
- 2:14Speaker 1: I'll do an update. Time now for my favorite segment,
- 2:18Speaker 1: which is the five things that I need to see.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And the first one is that an offensive line that
- 2:25Speaker 1: can establish the run. This is my number one, and
- 2:29Speaker 1: I don't think it's particularly close. Florida was at its
- 2:32Speaker 1: best when the offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage,
- 2:34Speaker 1: and Jaden Baugh could consistently generate positive yardage. Now, we
- 2:39Speaker 1: know Duke Clark will be out for this game. That's
- 2:42Speaker 1: going to mean Evan Pryor, And London Montgomery will get
- 2:47Speaker 1: those carries after Baugh. But we've got to be able
- 2:52Speaker 1: to establish a running game. Against Ole Miss, Florida ran
- 2:54Speaker 1: for 302 yards. The number was 42 against Missouri. And
- 2:58Speaker 1: against South Carolina, they had 120, but it wasn't enough.
- 3:02Speaker 1: This isn't about needing 300 yards rushing, though. It is
- 3:05Speaker 1: about not putting your quarterback in third and eighth situations.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And that's what has been happening. I do feel like
- 3:11Speaker 1: there was offensive improvement from Missouri to South Carolina, even
- 3:15Speaker 1: though Florida lost that game. South Carolina is not a
- 3:18Speaker 1: team you should lose to. That should be a game
- 3:21Speaker 1: you can take care of business. But Florida was able
- 3:23Speaker 1: to move the ball between the 20s against South Carolina.
- 3:25Speaker 1: They weren't against Missouri. And so I do feel like
- 3:29Speaker 1: there was a little bit of growth there. However, they've
- 3:31Speaker 1: got to finish when they get to the red zone.
- 3:33Speaker 1: There was four red zone trips that resulted in six
- 3:36Speaker 1: points total, two field goals, a missed field goal, and
- 3:38Speaker 1: an interception.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Those all end in touchdowns. You're talking about a very
- 3:42Speaker 2: different ball game. So what do I need to see?
- 3:45Speaker 1: I need to see at least 150 yards rushing, fewer
- 3:49Speaker 1: negative runs, and consistent gains on first down. Number two,
- 3:54Speaker 1: a defensive front that gets pressure on Arch Manning. Florida
- 3:57Speaker 1: sacked Manning six times last year. They intercepted him twice.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Oklahoma just showed that Manning can make mistakes when the
- 4:04Speaker 1: offense gets.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Out of rhythm. Jaden Woods, Obadajo, how about some LJ McCray?
- 4:09Speaker 1: The rest of Florida's defensive front need to find ways
- 4:12Speaker 1: to disrupt him without constantly bringing extra defenders. I want
- 4:16Speaker 1: to see at least three sacks, consistent pressure, and Manning
- 4:20Speaker 1: having to move off of his initial read. Number three, listen,
- 4:25Speaker 1: this would be my second most important thing to the
- 4:28Speaker 1: offensive line. And that's a defense that gets off the
- 4:31Speaker 1: field on third down. South Carolina converted 10 of 16
- 4:34Speaker 1: third downs against Florida. That is absolutely unacceptable. And what
- 4:38Speaker 1: makes it even more frustrating is that Texas has struggled
- 4:41Speaker 1: in this exact area offensively. The Longhorns converted just six
- 4:46Speaker 1: of their last 26.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Third down attempts. Florida has to take advantage of this.
- 4:53Speaker 2: So what do I need to see?
- 4:54Speaker 1: I want to see us hold Texas below 35% on
- 4:58Speaker 1: third downs and eliminate back-breaking third and long conversions. Think
- 5:03Speaker 1: about what this defense was able to do last game.
- 5:06Speaker 1: They put South Carolina in third and long situations pretty
- 5:10Speaker 1: consistently through the entire game. How do you do your
- 5:12Speaker 1: job on first and second down and then you're giving
- 5:15Speaker 1: up third and 14th? Third and nine, third and 11,
- 5:19Speaker 1: third and 10. It's just craziness. Get off the field
- 5:22Speaker 1: on third down. Number four is explosive plays from Florida's offense.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Florida was the most efficient offense.
- 5:29Speaker 2: In the country through four games.
- 5:31Speaker 1: They moved the ball times against South Carolina, did not
- 5:35Speaker 1: move the ball well against Missouri.
- 5:37Speaker 2: This offense has.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Lacked big plays in the last two games, so they
- 5:41Speaker 1: need them to be able to flip the field and
- 5:43Speaker 1: score quickly. Bailey Stockton had 127 yards receiving and a
- 5:47Speaker 1: touchdown against the Gamecocks. That was one of the few encouraging,
- 5:51Speaker 1: bright spots in the offense. I don't ever want Bailey
- 5:54Speaker 1: Stockton to be my leading receiver, though.
- 5:56Speaker 2: God love him.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I think he plays a great role for this team.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I think he's a leader. I don't need him to
- 6:01Speaker 1: be my leading receiver. Getting VB3 back, if he is cleared,
- 6:06Speaker 1: would be huge. Florida needs playmakers capable of turning short
- 6:10Speaker 1: gains into explosive ones. I need to see at least
- 6:13Speaker 1: four plays of 20-plus yards and at least one touchdown
- 6:16Speaker 1: generated by an explosive play. Number five, this one isn't statistical.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I need a Florida team that looks confident and prepared.
- 6:27Speaker 1: After two consecutive losses, I want to see how this
- 6:29Speaker 1: team responds. Does the offense look hesitant? Does the defense
- 6:33Speaker 1: look confused? Do players look like they're thinking too much
- 6:36Speaker 1: rather than reacting? Summerall has made it clear that there
- 6:39Speaker 1: are personnel limitations, but those limitations... should not prevent Florida
- 6:43Speaker 1: from competing with energy and discipline and purpose. When I
- 6:48Speaker 1: heard Miles Graham talk this week about how despondent they
- 6:51Speaker 1: were going into the locker room down seven, I wanted
- 6:54Speaker 1: to shake everybody's shoulders.
- 6:56Speaker 2: That shouldn't happen. You are Florida. I want to see
- 7:00Speaker 2: some fight. I want to see some energy.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And regardless of who plays quarterback, this staff needs a
- 7:05Speaker 1: plan that gives that player hope.
- 7:08Speaker 2: A chance to succeed.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I want to see a competitive first quarter, limited mental mistakes,
- 7:13Speaker 1: sound tackling, and a team that continues to fight if
- 7:16Speaker 1: it falls behind.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I need to see all of those things.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Let me take a look at some of y'all's comments
- 7:22Speaker 1: and then I'll get to the three keys to the game.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I'll give you a score prediction and we'll get out
- 7:26Speaker 1: of here.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 7:28Speaker 1: We have given up 21, 3, 39, 28, 39 points.
- 7:33Speaker 1: We've given up a ton of points. I believe 42
- 7:35Speaker 1: to Mizzou, too, right? No way Florida moves the ball
- 7:38Speaker 1: with all those injuries.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I mean, there's not many. They're just key. If no
- 7:42Speaker 2: run game again, it'll get ugly quickly.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Way too many injuries for our Gators when we lack
- 7:47Speaker 1: depth but still hoping for a miracle. We really see
- 7:50Speaker 1: how valuable BB3 is. I pray it's healthy. I do
- 7:53Speaker 1: think that this... We knew that he was an incredible player,
- 7:57Speaker 1: one of the best in the nation. I don't know
- 7:58Speaker 1: that even I realized just how valuable he was to
- 8:01Speaker 1: this team. As a leader, as a special teams player,
- 8:05Speaker 1: as somebody that draws the attention and the respect of
- 8:08Speaker 1: the defense, whether the ball is going to him or not,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I do think that's at least part of the issue
- 8:14Speaker 1: with this offense.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I'll take three sacks. Me too, babe.
- 8:18Speaker 1: All right, guys, before I get to my three keys
- 8:20Speaker 1: to the game, I want to remind you about Alumni Hall.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Make sure you're using our code. It's PEAK15. They're going
- 8:27Speaker 2: to give you 15% off.
- 8:29Speaker 1: In stores on their stores located on Archer road, but
- 8:32Speaker 1: also online alumni hall.com. And if you have family members,
- 8:35Speaker 1: like I do that route for other schools, I've tried
- 8:38Speaker 1: to kick them out of the family.
- 8:38Speaker 2: It hasn't worked.
- 8:39Speaker 1: You can buy gear for them for Christmas too. It
- 8:41Speaker 1: works on any team that they have that they offer.
- 8:45Speaker 1: They offer over 30 teams. So go ahead, check them out.
- 8:48Speaker 1: All the best variants, Nike, Peter Millar, cutter and buck Jordan,
- 8:52Speaker 1: everything you can imagine.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I was in there on Saturday.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I watched the end of the Texas Oklahoma game in
- 8:55Speaker 1: there with some of you guys actually So fun. But
- 8:58Speaker 1: make sure you're using the code. It's Peak15. We appreciate
- 9:01Speaker 1: Alumni Hall for all their support. Okay, three keys to
- 9:04Speaker 1: the game. Key number one, win the turnover battle. Florida
- 9:09Speaker 1: turned the ball over three times against South Carolina. Texas
- 9:12Speaker 1: just lost to Oklahoma in a game that featured two
- 9:15Speaker 1: costly fourth quarter interceptions from Manning. This is the kind
- 9:19Speaker 1: of matchup where one or two turnovers will change everything.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Florida cannot afford to give Texas extra possessions or short fields.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Zero or one turnover for Florida should be the goal.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Force at least two turnovers from Texas. Key number two,
- 9:37Speaker 1: control the line of scrimmage. This applies to both sides
- 9:40Speaker 1: of the ball. Offensively, Florida needs to get Jaden Ball
- 9:43Speaker 1: going and they need to avoid obvious passing situations, particularly
- 9:47Speaker 1: if Tramell Jones is starting.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Make it easier on him.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Defensively, the Gators need to make Texas one dimensional and
- 9:53Speaker 1: they need to force Arch to beat them under pressure.
- 9:56Speaker 1: If Florida gets pushed around on both lines, I don't
- 9:59Speaker 1: see a reasonable realistic path to an upset. So Florida
- 10:03Speaker 1: should target at least 150 rushing yards and hold Texas
- 10:08Speaker 1: below 125.
- 10:08Speaker 2: You can do that. You're on your way.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Key number three, finish drives and tackle in space. One
- 10:15Speaker 1: of Florida's biggest problems against South Carolina wasn't just moving
- 10:18Speaker 1: the football.
- 10:19Speaker 2: They actually moved the ball well between the 20s. It
- 10:22Speaker 2: was finishing possessions.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Against a team with Texas's talent, you can't consistently come
- 10:27Speaker 1: away with zero or three points after getting into a
- 10:30Speaker 1: scoring position. If you get into the red zone, you
- 10:33Speaker 1: need to walk away with seven. On defense, missed tackles
- 10:38Speaker 1: and poor angles have helped create explosive plays for opposing offenses.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Florida needs to make.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Sure they score, let's say, let's put a percentage on it,
- 10:48Speaker 1: touchdowns at least 60% of the time that they get
- 10:50Speaker 1: into the red zone and no Texas touchdowns of 30
- 10:54Speaker 1: plus yards. If you can do those three things, I
- 10:57Speaker 1: do think that there is a path for Florida to
- 10:59Speaker 1: win the Guys.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 11:02Speaker 1: You guys, my comments just started going crazy. Allie for
- 11:04Speaker 1: keynote speaker in the locker room. I might cuss too much.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I don't know. Love you, Allie. You're the best. Love
- 11:09Speaker 2: you guys. Right back.
- 11:10Speaker 1: We can't afford any turnovers. Listen, I'd prefer none. We've
- 11:14Speaker 1: got Tramiel Jones potentially as a starter. This would be
- 11:16Speaker 1: a first time SEC start on the road, trying to
- 11:20Speaker 1: give them a little grace, but you definitely have to
- 11:22Speaker 1: outpace them at least two to one on turnovers. For
- 11:26Speaker 1: the love of God, no yellow flags on third down. Y'all,
- 11:28Speaker 1: if we could cut down on penalties, I think that
- 11:30Speaker 1: would help exponentially. This is the first season, so we
- 11:34Speaker 1: can expect feast and famine. We will lose games we
- 11:37Speaker 1: should win, and we will win games we should lose.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Let's hope Texas is that game. I do think Florida
- 11:43Speaker 1: will win at least one game they shouldn't. I think
- 11:45Speaker 1: it's more likely to be this one than Georgia.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I'm down. Let's say it's this one. That would be
- 11:50Speaker 2: pretty cool.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I have predicted all along 24-21 Texas. I think I'm
- 11:56Speaker 1: going to adjust that to 24-17 because I think that
- 12:01Speaker 1: there's a great chance Trammell gets the start. It's not
- 12:03Speaker 1: that I don't have confidence in his ability. It is
- 12:06Speaker 1: just a really, really tough ask, your first start in
- 12:09Speaker 1: the SEC to be.
- 12:11Speaker 2: On the road in Austin. I hope I'm wrong.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I hate picking against the Gators. I am excited, though,
- 12:18Speaker 1: that I think that there's a chance this offense can
- 12:20Speaker 1: get a little bit back on track. I want to
- 12:22Speaker 1: see what changes and improvements this defense can make. I
- 12:26Speaker 1: do think if VB3 is back, that's an X factor
- 12:29Speaker 1: in this game. So we'll continue to monitor the injury
- 12:32Speaker 1: report as the week goes on. I would be surprised
- 12:35Speaker 1: to see him, but I hope it happens. I think
- 12:37Speaker 1: that ups Florida's chances exponentially. Guys, I appreciate all of
- 12:42Speaker 1: you so much for hanging out with me today. Make
- 12:44Speaker 1: sure you are subscribed to this channel. I've got a
- 12:46Speaker 1: lot more content coming your way. I will see y'all
- 12:49Speaker 1: real soon.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Go Gators!
