- 0:34Speaker 1: Good morning, everybody, Happy Thursday.
- 0:35Speaker 3: I have an amazing show for everybody today, bro Show
- 0:38Speaker 3: people Live for the Pound.
- 0:40Speaker 4: I hope you're still over for the pod after a
- 0:42Speaker 4: week for a Broach.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like maybe the worst possible week for a
- 0:47Speaker 3: Broch show, but we make it work.
- 0:48Speaker 4: That's what we do over here.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Ryan Man I was telling Ryan before the show, this
- 0:52Speaker 3: man has he I mean, his ability to go up
- 0:56Speaker 3: against the whatever democratic industrial complex.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Wa Kirsten Cinema.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Cinema.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Kirsten Cinema.
- 1:04Speaker 5: Yeah, pushed Molly on her staffer right to pressure him
- 1:08Speaker 5: into seven.
- 1:08Speaker 4: She's going to come after me.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and she's calling Ryan a rape apology. I hope
- 1:12Speaker 3: I said that later off in the video not to
- 1:14Speaker 3: mix it, but that's what we do over here anyway.
- 1:16Speaker 3: All Right, So let's get to what we're going to
- 1:18Speaker 3: cover in the show. We're going to start with some
- 1:20Speaker 3: new American strikes on Iran. Largely these strikes are concentrated
- 1:25Speaker 3: in the straight of Horn moves. However, Iran late last
- 1:28Speaker 3: night struck back against multiple US bases, huge censorship coming
- 1:32Speaker 3: out of the region. We don't have perfect video, but
- 1:34Speaker 3: we're going to show you a little bit of what
- 1:36Speaker 3: we have. Meanwhile, the price of oil continuing to spike,
- 1:38Speaker 3: the strategic Petroleum Reserve at very very critical levels.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Platner, we're going to talk about that.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Platina released some eleven minute long video late last night.
- 1:48Speaker 3: The bottom line for that, he's dropping out of the
- 1:51Speaker 3: race no conditions, and the main Democratic Party has a
- 1:54Speaker 3: new process. It's totally corrupt. I'll let Ryan break all
- 1:57Speaker 3: of that one down. Mitch McConnell, you might have seen this,
- 2:00Speaker 3: Scott Jennings, friend of the show. I guess you could
- 2:03Speaker 3: call it was on CNN, where previously he had tweeted
- 2:09Speaker 3: that he just spent twenty minutes on the phone with
- 2:11Speaker 3: McConnell and McConnell was so sharp and they discuss world politics,
- 2:15Speaker 3: and the CNN anchor is like, Okay, call him right now.
- 2:17Speaker 1: He's like, oh, I can't do that.
- 2:18Speaker 4: And that's after.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Multiple other people claim to have spoken with McConnell for
- 2:22Speaker 3: some twenty minutes, nobody else has. And his wife, who
- 2:25Speaker 3: was in China, just release his statement justifying why she
- 2:28Speaker 3: left his bedside two days after he had been hospitalized
- 2:31Speaker 3: from a cardiac arrest for mains in the hospital and
- 2:34Speaker 3: she hasn't even confirmed that she has seen him. So
- 2:36Speaker 3: it's total madness out here. We're going to talk about Michigan,
- 2:40Speaker 3: the Michigan Democratic primary, very very fiery of Hailey Stevens
- 2:44Speaker 3: versus Abdul Elsiah.
- 2:46Speaker 1: They threw down at a debate. There's some really interesting moments.
- 2:48Speaker 3: I'm gonna le Ryan really break down some of the
- 2:50Speaker 3: more important stuff there. And then finally it's a soccer
- 2:53Speaker 3: show with Ryan and so we all get one pet
- 2:56Speaker 3: issue minus property tax.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Abdul sa kills me.
- 3:00Speaker 3: I've liked the guy he's been on our show, I
- 3:02Speaker 3: mean many times over the last six years, but when
- 3:04Speaker 3: he said when you need to freeze property tax for seniors,
- 3:07Speaker 3: it was a gut punch.
- 3:08Speaker 5: You call yourself a populis, you call yours a slopulus.
- 3:12Speaker 3: All right, And so you know we're not just gonna
- 3:14Speaker 3: talk about obdel but there has been There are four
- 3:17Speaker 3: different state and localities just in the last month, all
- 3:21Speaker 3: trying to freeze property tax for scene.
- 3:23Speaker 1: This is an epidemic that's sweeping the nation.
- 3:26Speaker 3: This is the boomer Reich, and we need to fight
- 3:28Speaker 3: back as hard gets And by the way, this reich
- 3:30Speaker 3: actually might last a thousand years if we don't rise
- 3:33Speaker 3: up and do something about it. So thank you, by
- 3:35Speaker 3: the way, to everybody subscribing to our show. And don't
- 3:37Speaker 3: forget we have our free newsletter. Let's put it up
- 3:40Speaker 3: here on the screen. There was a cool little graphic.
- 3:43Speaker 3: You can sign up at Breakingpoints dot com. It's totally free.
- 3:46Speaker 3: You can just go ahead and put your email in there.
- 3:49Speaker 3: It's really important for us to maintain this direct relationship
- 3:52Speaker 3: with our subscribers. And you know, Crystal's been off this
- 3:54Speaker 3: week and she messages us just yesterday. She's like, guys,
- 3:57Speaker 3: this newsletter is just so useful when you're off to
- 4:00Speaker 3: keep up with the show. If you don't have time
- 4:01Speaker 3: to watch the whole thing, you want to see everything
- 4:03Speaker 3: that we've talked about. It has direct quotes, it has
- 4:05Speaker 3: links written descriptions, just in case there's a story maybe
- 4:09Speaker 3: that you don't have the time to listen to.
- 4:11Speaker 1: It's very very additive to the premium service.
- 4:13Speaker 3: It's also how you get your YouTube and your Spotify
- 4:15Speaker 3: and you get the full thing if you do subscribe
- 4:17Speaker 3: to our premium program. So Breakingpoints dot com either for
- 4:20Speaker 3: free or you can sign up and become a member.
- 4:22Speaker 5: And to underline what you said, our connection to the
- 4:24Speaker 5: audience is heavily mediated by the big tech algorithms actly,
- 4:28Speaker 5: so by signing up to get the email, you assure
- 4:32Speaker 5: that we can reach out to you. If there's some
- 4:33Speaker 5: type of algorithmic interference, we say, hey, you've been missing
- 4:37Speaker 5: the show because they don't like they don't like what
- 4:39Speaker 5: we've been talking about lately or whatever. But if we
- 4:41Speaker 5: have that audience relationship directly, it's much more sustainable.
- 4:46Speaker 3: In our Platner coverage, I know what the numbers should be.
- 4:48Speaker 3: It's probably two thirds of what that numbered it's because
- 4:51Speaker 3: you and I aren't idiots out here being talking about
- 4:53Speaker 3: grape and putting app signs, you know, and like sorry,
- 4:56Speaker 3: like that's not We're doing the news here, like you
- 4:59Speaker 3: can't just be you know, censoring ourselves.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Same with war footage.
- 5:02Speaker 3: It happens all the time, many times that we would
- 5:04Speaker 3: cover Palestine and all of those things over the years.
- 5:06Speaker 3: If you put in some harrowing video or you talk
- 5:09Speaker 3: to some doctor about what it's like in a Gaza hospital,
- 5:12Speaker 3: you get nuked in the algorithm because oh, advertisers don't
- 5:15Speaker 3: want you to talk about dead babies. And it's like, well,
- 5:17Speaker 3: unfortunately it's a lot of babies. Yes, they're being killed.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Somebody's got to say it. So anyway, that's why we
- 5:22Speaker 3: have our business design the way that it is. But
- 5:24Speaker 3: as Ryan said, let's go ahead and start with Iran.
- 5:29Speaker 3: We're going to put this video up here on the
- 5:31Speaker 3: screen and I'll just show you a little bit of
- 5:34Speaker 3: what US Central Command has released as of last night.
- 5:37Speaker 3: So what you guys can see in front of you
- 5:40Speaker 3: was accompanied by this Sentcom statement. US Central Command has
- 5:43Speaker 3: completed an additional round of strikes against Iran to further
- 5:47Speaker 3: degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping and innocent civilian
- 5:51Speaker 3: mariners in the Strait of Mourmus.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Quote.
- 5:54Speaker 3: US forces struck approximately ninety Iranian military targets, including air
- 5:59Speaker 3: defense systems, coastal surveillance systems, missile and drone storage sites,
- 6:03Speaker 3: naval capabilities, and military logistics. So all of this is
- 6:07Speaker 3: now dozens of targets struck last night, dozens of targets
- 6:12Speaker 3: struck the night before. Now let's take a look here
- 6:15Speaker 3: at the Iranian retaliatory strikes. So here's what we seem
- 6:19Speaker 3: to have seemed to have been targeted. According to the Iranians,
- 6:23Speaker 3: the footage in front of you was all released by them.
- 6:26Speaker 3: So according to the Iranian military, they released a they
- 6:30Speaker 3: targeted a Patriot missile system in Kuwait, an early warning
- 6:35Speaker 3: satellite and tennis site in Qatar, a fuel storage facility
- 6:40Speaker 3: site for the US military in Bahrain. And the IRGC
- 6:44Speaker 3: said that they also struck key infrastructure facilities at Airfon
- 6:47Speaker 3: Base in Kuwait, Ali Salan Base in Kuwait, US Navy's
- 6:51Speaker 3: fifth flight in base in Bahrain, and the Sheik Esa
- 6:53Speaker 3: Base in Bahrain. It's a couple of notworthy things here,
- 6:56Speaker 3: Ryan Number one, No. UAE here on the lad Ua
- 7:00Speaker 3: took a huge pounding. Now, remember there's some back deals
- 7:03Speaker 3: going on between you and the UA. Some money might
- 7:05Speaker 3: have exchanged hands, be like, hey, in the future, don't
- 7:08Speaker 3: hit us.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Here's a few billion you.
- 7:09Speaker 5: Know, it's like and the only thing hit and cutter
- 7:12Speaker 5: is this early warning satellite antenna site, which is squarely
- 7:17Speaker 5: like a US military exactly like piece of material, which
- 7:22Speaker 5: is much different than like hitting Doha or something.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Well, part of the reason why there was some there
- 7:26Speaker 3: was a lot of bated breath as of last night
- 7:28Speaker 3: when I went to bed, was because we knew not
- 7:30Speaker 3: only would you struck military sites in Iran, but a
- 7:33Speaker 3: couple key railways actually were hit by the United States military.
- 7:36Speaker 3: So civilian infrastructure obviously the military can use it too,
- 7:40Speaker 3: but Iran previously has always relied on the horizontal escalation,
- 7:44Speaker 3: hitting civilian infrastructure in return for hitting civilian infrastructure. So
- 7:47Speaker 3: people still are really in this. You know, Look, we're
- 7:51Speaker 3: just in the craziest limbo of all time. We're in
- 7:53Speaker 3: a cease fire where the fire has not ceased, and
- 7:56Speaker 3: it's like we are in a memorandum of understanding where
- 7:59Speaker 3: there's no understand Like we are in a peace process
- 8:02Speaker 3: where there's no peace.
- 8:03Speaker 1: We have no peace, no war.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Really, it's like the ground where the Americans side seems
- 8:08Speaker 3: to have been very comfortable. But the part of the
- 8:11Speaker 3: problem and why it just to me is totally inevitable
- 8:14Speaker 3: the things will shift, is that is always going to
- 8:17Speaker 3: be on our side. As the Vice President said, less
- 8:20Speaker 3: fire means we restock, we need to fill up the
- 8:23Speaker 3: strategic patrol and reserve, we get more oil flowing, the
- 8:26Speaker 3: price is down. I mean, you know, let's be honest,
- 8:28Speaker 3: most Americans, to the extent that they're paying a lot
- 8:30Speaker 3: of attentions when gases at four fifty starts to get
- 8:33Speaker 3: around three fifty, They're like, all right, you know it's high,
- 8:35Speaker 3: but it's not that high, right, and so people kind
- 8:37Speaker 3: of move on with it. I got summer vacation plans,
- 8:40Speaker 3: those types of things. But this is exactly the type
- 8:42Speaker 3: of thing which could jolt it right back into reality.
- 8:45Speaker 3: And Trump is now really I mean, he's right back
- 8:48Speaker 3: to where he was before.
- 8:49Speaker 5: And yeah, he might be making the exact same mistake
- 8:52Speaker 5: as he made last time when he started this war,
- 8:54Speaker 5: which is we're going to hit him for three days
- 8:56Speaker 5: and then they're going to come back to the table
- 8:58Speaker 5: with whoever we didn't kill, and we're negotiate a better.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Deal with them instead.
- 9:02Speaker 5: They didn't listen when Iran said, no, we're going to
- 9:05Speaker 5: significantly retaliate and create a regional war. This time around,
- 9:09Speaker 5: they're saying they're going to significantly retaliate, and they're not
- 9:11Speaker 5: and they're not going.
- 9:12Speaker 4: To tolerate this like tit for tat stuff.
- 9:14Speaker 5: So we'll see if they once again live up to
- 9:17Speaker 5: their threats. But so far they have, you know, reached
- 9:21Speaker 5: significant damage across the region.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Yes, so here is Trump saying, you know, Iran is
- 9:26Speaker 3: now the number one target. We've got to finish the job.
- 9:28Speaker 3: We've got to force open the straight up our moves.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Let's take a.
- 9:30Speaker 6: Listen, everything's gone. The leaders are gone. The leaders they're gone,
- 9:35Speaker 6: and they had another set of leaders. They're gone. Now
- 9:37Speaker 6: they have another set of leaders. They may be gone,
- 9:39Speaker 6: who knows. And you know what I may be gone
- 9:43Speaker 6: to because I'm the number one target. I got to
- 9:46Speaker 6: know them, and I'm not sure I want to make
- 9:48Speaker 6: a deal with them. We can play games, but I'm
- 9:50Speaker 6: not sure I want to make it deal. Let's just
- 9:52Speaker 6: finish the job. Anything that happens is going to be
- 9:54Speaker 6: over very quickly, and we'll only and we'll only make
- 9:57Speaker 6: it safer, including for oil. Oil is going to be
- 10:01Speaker 6: very free, very easy, and it's going to happen very fast.
- 10:07Speaker 6: We have the Harmo Street, the boats have pulled out.
- 10:10Speaker 6: I mean, there's a gusher of oil right now. We
- 10:13Speaker 6: have a lot of oil. And no, anything that happens
- 10:16Speaker 6: is going to happen very fast.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Anything that's going to happen is going to happen. Sure
- 10:20Speaker 3: that's only on your side. It doesn't necessarily mean on
- 10:24Speaker 3: the Iranian side. Here is Trump also saying that he
- 10:27Speaker 3: may reimpose the blockade.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Let's take a listener as.
- 10:30Speaker 6: To whether or not Steve Whitcoff, Jared and j D
- 10:34Speaker 6: and everybody.
- 10:34Speaker 7: Working and that will talk. I guess they could talk.
- 10:37Speaker 7: But I'm not seeing it with them, you know, with
- 10:40Speaker 7: the people. My whole life is deal. So I don't
- 10:42Speaker 7: see it. I don't see it with them.
- 10:47Speaker 6: And that may be.
- 10:50Speaker 7: A big attack, and it will knock out a lot
- 10:53Speaker 7: of stuff. We don't knock out nothing. We knock out
- 10:56Speaker 7: a lot. Pete, do you want to tell him about lessoning?
- 10:59Speaker 8: Yes, sir as you said, a lot of small craft
- 11:03Speaker 8: that they were trying to harass shipping with. So that
- 11:05Speaker 8: was a big part of what we targeted.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Underground facilities where they were restoring drones or missiles, coastal
- 11:11Speaker 3: defense sites, radar sites, surveillance sites, anything used to harass
- 11:15Speaker 3: shipping in the straight of horror moves.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So anything they thought they had rebuilt their capability they.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Were using was a target last night and tonight.
- 11:22Speaker 2: If we need to, on your order, mister President, we
- 11:25Speaker 2: will hit even more and even deeper, because that's the
- 11:27Speaker 2: cops go.
- 11:28Speaker 6: We may put down to the blockade.
- 11:30Speaker 1: We may put it back at the blockade.
- 11:32Speaker 4: A five.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Please with some vo we can show all of you here.
- 11:36Speaker 3: The US Central Command released this yesterday, saying today more
- 11:40Speaker 3: than twenty US Navy warships are patrolling waters across the
- 11:44Speaker 3: Middle East. Scent Com forces continued promoting regional security and stability.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Last month, the US Naval warships and aircraft transited the
- 11:51Speaker 3: Arabian Sea in a close formation, demonstrating unmatched military strength
- 11:56Speaker 3: and firepower. So look very obvious signaling which is happening here,
- 12:00Speaker 3: and it's like a straight propaganda you know video about
- 12:04Speaker 3: the blockade. But I mean, we're really just right back
- 12:06Speaker 3: to where we started before the ceasefire, aren't we?
- 12:09Speaker 1: Ryan? And I don't know.
- 12:11Speaker 4: I mean, we didn't want to let Iran implement.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Yes, their their passage system for free, Yeah, for free,
- 12:19Speaker 3: but they said you have to coordinate with us. I
- 12:21Speaker 3: really don't know where we go from here. And to
- 12:23Speaker 3: be honest, I'm a little mystified with the Iranians. They
- 12:26Speaker 3: talk a big game, but you know, everything right now
- 12:28Speaker 3: is horizontal, and I wonder, I mean, why are they
- 12:31Speaker 3: also so content with the status quo because it's not
- 12:34Speaker 3: like they're getting to sell that much oil. They did
- 12:37Speaker 3: take a ton of damage, I mean hundreds of billions
- 12:39Speaker 3: of dollars in damage. I guess the regime is doing
- 12:42Speaker 3: fine internally, but you know, eventually you start paying bills,
- 12:44Speaker 3: people of normal life and all of that does have
- 12:46Speaker 3: to resume.
- 12:47Speaker 5: We're setting sanctions relief for the that's which they well,
- 12:50Speaker 5: they thought they were going to get that, but then
- 12:51Speaker 5: America just took it away.
- 12:52Speaker 3: As of two days ago, I would have expected a
- 12:55Speaker 3: resumption of full on war now. One potential explanation for
- 12:59Speaker 3: that is that while US sanctions may be in place,
- 13:02Speaker 3: is that a whole other golf countries. Everybody sat in rooms.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Now hands have been shaked. Everybody's kind of had mutual understandings.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Maybe there's a hell of a lot of money moving
- 13:13Speaker 3: across different banks in China or out or bitcoin or
- 13:17Speaker 3: any of these other places where everyone's just paying them off,
- 13:20Speaker 3: but nobody really knows about it right now. And that's
- 13:22Speaker 3: one of the reasons why the Iranians aren't actually still
- 13:25Speaker 3: going forward.
- 13:25Speaker 4: We might just live in this limbo. But it's nonetheless to.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Say, like limbo is still really bad, Like it's not
- 13:31Speaker 3: as bad as a full on war, but it's still bad.
- 13:33Speaker 1: It's bad.
- 13:33Speaker 5: Yeah, Yes, And the oil markets which had been recovering
- 13:38Speaker 5: as money was coming out and put up base seven
- 13:41Speaker 5: and now they're all they're going hey wire again.
- 13:43Speaker 4: And we mentioned on that you can put up base seven.
- 13:45Speaker 4: We put We mentioned the.
- 13:46Speaker 5: Show yesterday that I think we were down to about
- 13:49Speaker 5: ninety million barrels. Yeah, in our petroleum strategic reserve. That
- 13:54Speaker 5: is very very little, considering just last week we released
- 13:59Speaker 5: on an emergency basis an additional six and that's even
- 14:03Speaker 5: as we had significant flow coming out of the Strait
- 14:08Speaker 5: of Hormuz. So now we're basically shutting down the Strait
- 14:12Speaker 5: of Hormuz again, as as long as we're doing active
- 14:15Speaker 5: combat with Iran and we're down to ninety million barrels,
- 14:20Speaker 5: and that's with inventories low across the board as well, so.
- 14:23Speaker 4: There's no room to give.
- 14:25Speaker 5: When Trump said I had to reach a deal because
- 14:29Speaker 5: there would be havoc and I would become Hoover if
- 14:32Speaker 5: I didn't, he was reflecting objective reality. He doesn't like
- 14:38Speaker 5: the reality, so now he's pushing against it. And how
- 14:43Speaker 5: far he pushes against the reality remains to be seen.
- 14:46Speaker 4: But that reality is still there.
- 14:48Speaker 5: So he's either going to get havoc and Hoover or
- 14:50Speaker 5: he's going to go He's going to have to go
- 14:53Speaker 5: back to capitulation and acknowledging that Iran controls the Strait
- 14:57Speaker 5: of Hormos or complete in total civilizational annihilation of Iran. Now,
- 15:03Speaker 5: treat a parsy. You can put up a eight has
- 15:06Speaker 5: been arguing. You know that they're you know that there's
- 15:10Speaker 5: still a way that you can get back into this,
- 15:13Speaker 5: and it's you know, effectively, you have to seed some
- 15:17Speaker 5: ground here, like Iran controls the Strait of Hormoves with
- 15:21Speaker 5: Oman right and who cares cares?
- 15:26Speaker 4: Like if they're letting the ships go through.
- 15:28Speaker 3: If the ships go through and you got to pay
- 15:30Speaker 3: a little fake environmental fee, that still seems like a
- 15:32Speaker 3: lot better.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Than I pay all kinds of fake fees before the
- 15:35Speaker 5: gas goes into the car.
- 15:36Speaker 4: I drove from here to Maine cost me one hundred
- 15:38Speaker 4: and ten dollars in tolls.
- 15:39Speaker 3: You don't even know where the ship ship here, there
- 15:42Speaker 3: and everywhere. Most of it goes to some corrupt guy
- 15:44Speaker 3: in New Jersey. You know, it's like, it is what
- 15:46Speaker 3: it is. It happens, all right, Let's put a seven,
- 15:49Speaker 3: you know, to your point up here on the screen.
- 15:51Speaker 3: How the oil market calm is shattered by all of
- 15:55Speaker 3: these fresh hostilits. We're not exaggerating, and it's still it's
- 15:57Speaker 3: like eighty dollars a barrel or something like that. But
- 16:00Speaker 3: that is still the highest level that it's been actually
- 16:02Speaker 3: in weeks. And the quote chief investment officer of a
- 16:05Speaker 3: major financial services firm A based in Houston says, the
- 16:08Speaker 3: honeymoon phase is over and we're just being reminded this
- 16:11Speaker 3: is an active conflict. It is a reminder just generally
- 16:14Speaker 3: that gas, as I said earlier, three eighty four gallon
- 16:18Speaker 3: nationally I mean it's high, like it's still a ride
- 16:21Speaker 3: around near four dollars a gallon, California five thirty eight,
- 16:26Speaker 3: the entire West coast still in the five dollars range.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Some cheap gas in Texas and other places three forty one,
- 16:32Speaker 3: but that's still a full dollar above where it is earlier.
- 16:36Speaker 3: And get you know, diesel is still around four eighty
- 16:38Speaker 3: a gallon. So yeah, it's not the five to eighty
- 16:40Speaker 3: that it was, but it's still significant, I think in
- 16:43Speaker 3: terms of the overall transit costs that continues. It's a
- 16:46Speaker 3: transit tax on all Americans.
- 16:47Speaker 5: And speaking of your populist buddy, Abdullah said, you know,
- 16:50Speaker 5: he has foreshadowed that went if he challenged, if he
- 16:54Speaker 5: wins the nomination goes up against Mike Rodgers, he's planning
- 16:56Speaker 5: on calling him five dollar Rogers the entire campaign and
- 17:00Speaker 5: pinning his hawkishness to the five dollar gas that people
- 17:03Speaker 5: are going to be paying. Yeah, Trump is flirting with
- 17:06Speaker 5: pushing five dollar rogers into literal reality.
- 17:10Speaker 4: He said.
- 17:11Speaker 5: It also has a bribery connotation that he'll do anything
- 17:13Speaker 5: for five bucks. But because we're now in July, right,
- 17:19Speaker 5: we're not talking February anymore. The elections are in just
- 17:23Speaker 5: a couple of months. And if he continues, if he
- 17:27Speaker 5: insists on pushing this war forward, we are going to
- 17:29Speaker 5: be talking about five dollar rogers all over the country.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I think what's unfortunate is we all know he won't invade.
- 17:35Speaker 3: We all know he's not going to take over carg Island.
- 17:37Speaker 4: We all know that.
- 17:38Speaker 1: But we do know.
- 17:39Speaker 3: What we do know is that he's going to live
- 17:42Speaker 3: in this weird gray area which is extremely which is bad,
- 17:48Speaker 3: but not extremely bad.
- 17:50Speaker 1: It's just at that three eighty gallon, it's a couple strikes.
- 17:53Speaker 3: You know, markets go down as long as AI continues
- 17:55Speaker 3: to fuel our stock marketing. I just think there's no
- 17:58Speaker 3: forcing mechanism right now to actually end all of this nonsense.
- 18:02Speaker 3: And that's actually the most dangerous part. And you know
- 18:04Speaker 3: I've been trying to get more Ukraine stuff in here.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Let's put a nine up here on the screen. This
- 18:08Speaker 3: just shows to me the sheer arrogance and delusion really
- 18:11Speaker 3: of Trump where he says he supports now the Ukrainian
- 18:14Speaker 3: long range strikes deep inside of Russia. This was paired
- 18:18Speaker 3: with two things, so not only do so what he's
- 18:21Speaker 3: basically saying is Ukraine you take all your drones, fire
- 18:26Speaker 3: them deep in there as long as you possibly want.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Well, what's the risk of that.
- 18:30Speaker 3: What's currently happening right now, which is the Ukrainians will
- 18:34Speaker 3: even acknowledge their long range strikes are being met with
- 18:37Speaker 3: the heaviest ballistic missile attacks of all time on the
- 18:41Speaker 3: city of Kiev and all over the country. Why are
- 18:44Speaker 3: they doing that, because that's the only advantage that Russia has.
- 18:47Speaker 4: Well.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Trump also said yesterday, Oh, we're going to give Ukraine
- 18:50Speaker 3: a license to build patriots. Yeah.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Good. We can't even build our own patriots.
- 18:54Speaker 3: You're going to build them in a war torn zone
- 18:57Speaker 3: or going to outsources to Germany or whatever.
- 18:59Speaker 1: This is all spreadsheet warfare, like, it's not how it works.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Right, And they're also they're getting hit today, yes, today,
- 19:08Speaker 5: five years last week there were two ballistic missile attacks
- 19:11Speaker 5: from Russia on Ki that killed thirty plus people like
- 19:14Speaker 5: each time, because the ballistic missile interceptor stockpile of Ukraine
- 19:18Speaker 5: has Yeah, I think they intercepted zero ballistic missiles the
- 19:21Speaker 5: first time in the last attack. And Ukraine has been
- 19:24Speaker 5: consistently complaining that we're used that we've used multiple times
- 19:29Speaker 5: as many ballistic missile interceptors for Israel and for American
- 19:33Speaker 5: ships in Iran, as it's been used in the entire
- 19:36Speaker 5: war between Russia and Ukraine, which yeah, which is true.
- 19:40Speaker 4: You know, things have costs, And if we had.
- 19:43Speaker 5: Ended the war in Ukraine years ago, they have more
- 19:46Speaker 5: bistic missile interceptors for somewhere else.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and this is kind of well, the reason I'm
- 19:49Speaker 3: bringing it into to this is a show. So if
- 19:51Speaker 3: you're some you know, pro Ukraine head who's watching this,
- 19:54Speaker 3: you should be furious because we just blew the whole
- 19:56Speaker 3: We don't even have it. If you wanted to help you,
- 19:58Speaker 3: you can't. There's nothing left. Anything that's not nailed down
- 20:01Speaker 3: is gone.
- 20:02Speaker 4: It's gone.
- 20:03Speaker 3: It will take years to replace. And so yeah, oh
- 20:06Speaker 3: you want to help Ukraine, that's cute. We literally can't.
- 20:08Speaker 3: So this shows you the problem with this endless war ideology,
- 20:12Speaker 3: especially now where America has transitioned to we have no
- 20:15Speaker 3: boots on the ground, which throw a bunch of missiles
- 20:17Speaker 3: out into the air. Everybody thinks it's costless. It's costless
- 20:20Speaker 3: to the cost and that the cost is being shown
- 20:22Speaker 3: in Ukraine. The cost is shown to our bases and
- 20:25Speaker 3: to basically the massive strategic humiliation failure that we took
- 20:29Speaker 3: in Iran and also in the future, like if there's
- 20:32Speaker 3: a conflict which will arise in the next two to
- 20:34Speaker 3: three years, it's over. It's actually over, like it will
- 20:37Speaker 3: really basically our stockpile will go to zero in third
- 20:41Speaker 3: if Iran can deplete the stockpile by forty fifty percent
- 20:45Speaker 3: something like that, depending on which stockpile you're looking at.
- 20:47Speaker 3: For the weapon system. In thirty seven days, what's China
- 20:50Speaker 3: going to do five days two? I mean, you know,
- 20:53Speaker 3: and you start rationing.
- 20:55Speaker 4: That's bad.
- 20:56Speaker 1: We start rationing. That's what happens in Ukraine.
- 20:58Speaker 3: People die, right, It's a death panel, said, literally, a
- 21:00Speaker 3: death panel every day.
- 21:01Speaker 5: And let's finish with a little bit of fun at
- 21:03Speaker 5: the expense of our many. It's tough because like you know,
- 21:08Speaker 5: he's flying around the world, he's a very old man.
- 21:11Speaker 4: We can still have some fun.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Let's put put up a for the Islamic.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Republic of Japan, et cetera. A four one hundred.
- 21:19Speaker 8: I told this story yesterday.
- 21:20Speaker 6: We had one hundred and eleven missile shot by the
- 21:24Speaker 6: Islamic Republic of Japan. They were shot at the air
- 21:29Speaker 6: JC POC. What a terrible what a terrible deal. I
- 21:34Speaker 6: call it the Obama Nuclear waste deal because what he
- 21:38Speaker 6: did with that deal is he caused tremendous hardship in
- 21:42Speaker 6: the Middle East. It was a terrible, terrible Do.
- 21:44Speaker 8: You have a question for President? Do you have a
- 21:51Speaker 8: question for President? Not so much, what would you like
- 21:55Speaker 8: to ask him? Because I'm going to ask him that question.
- 21:57Speaker 1: The Islamic Republic of Japan press in putin all in two.
- 22:01Speaker 4: I like, I like his clean up.
- 22:02Speaker 5: At the end, he's like, well, if you have a question,
- 22:04Speaker 5: putin tell me yeah, I'll ask him right and then
- 22:07Speaker 5: I'll get back to you exactly.
- 22:08Speaker 4: That's what I meant.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And he also called it the j C POC.
- 22:11Speaker 4: That's kind of.
- 22:12Speaker 1: JC Joint Comprehensive People of Color.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Yes, I like that.
- 22:16Speaker 3: That sounds like some end of lace. The Islamic Republic
- 22:20Speaker 3: of Japan. The Japanese, you know that meme where they're like.
- 22:24Speaker 4: What weekend? Yeah, and Pernrito is like whoa, whoa, whoa wait,
- 22:29Speaker 4: what are we doing here?
- 22:31Speaker 3: Just like you know, and man, I love Japan so much.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Japanese you know, you know you did you know?
- 22:37Speaker 4: The Japanese lit up Tokyo Tower Red, white, and Blue
- 22:39Speaker 4: for July fourth.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I did not know that there's such great people. They little.
- 22:42Speaker 3: They did a little drone show which showed their PM
- 22:45Speaker 3: next to Trump.
- 22:46Speaker 1: They love us.
- 22:47Speaker 4: All we do is slight them. It's it's just disgusting, disgusting,
- 22:50Speaker 4: all right, let's get the Platinner.
- 22:54Speaker 5: Grand Platner, in an eleven minutes straight to camera video,
- 22:57Speaker 5: announced that he is dropping out of the main center.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Let's listen to some of it.
- 23:01Speaker 9: Hey, everyone, it's Cramp Platner here. I think, as many
- 23:05Speaker 9: of you know, over the past couple of days, I
- 23:07Speaker 9: have faced some very serious allegations, and I just want
- 23:11Speaker 9: to make it clear this is all false. The things
- 23:15Speaker 9: that have been claimed did not happen. It's not real.
- 23:21Speaker 9: It has placed an immense amount of weight on me
- 23:27Speaker 9: as I think about what needs to happen now. I
- 23:32Speaker 9: just want you to think about what you would do
- 23:35Speaker 9: as a regular person in a position where a much
- 23:41Speaker 9: larger world, large forces were working against you personally to
- 23:49Speaker 9: accuse you of the worst thing that a person could do,
- 23:55Speaker 9: and it was not remotely true. It can't be made,
- 24:02Speaker 9: and for that reason, we are suspending campaign operations. This
- 24:17Speaker 9: is incredibly difficult because I know that some will think
- 24:21Speaker 9: it's an admission of guilt, and it most certainly is not.
- 24:24Speaker 9: We're not doing it because of the allegations. We're doing
- 24:26Speaker 9: it because of the structures that are being taken away
- 24:29Speaker 9: from us by those in power. We were asking for
- 24:32Speaker 9: real democracy, and we did it the right way and
- 24:36Speaker 9: we won. But now the ball is in the court
- 24:43Speaker 9: of the democratic establishment. My name might be on the
- 24:49Speaker 9: ballot right now, but that ballot line belongs to the
- 24:53Speaker 9: people of Maine Osaka.
- 24:56Speaker 5: There was also a line in there where he said,
- 24:58Speaker 5: we did it the right way, the way you're supposed
- 25:01Speaker 5: to do it.
- 25:01Speaker 4: We did it through elect the electoral system.
- 25:05Speaker 5: And very like he's alluding to the kind of fringe
- 25:08Speaker 5: left wing court. No, he's alluding to this fringe left
- 25:11Speaker 5: wing debate about armed revolution versus politics.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Oh, is that what you That's that's what I thought.
- 25:16Speaker 1: I read fast to this whole kangaroo court system.
- 25:20Speaker 5: Which is what he was saying, is we wanted healthcare,
- 25:22Speaker 5: we wanted to end the genocide, and we did it
- 25:24Speaker 5: through the electoral system, which you say is the way
- 25:27Speaker 5: to bring about change.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Oh, I see, and he's strongly implying it. I'm not
- 25:30Speaker 4: enough of a comedy, right.
- 25:32Speaker 5: That was That was That was like for the for
- 25:35Speaker 5: the COMMI heads, but overall, you know, we over diagnosed
- 25:40Speaker 5: narcissm all the time.
- 25:41Speaker 4: But it was a very like self focus.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Yeah, let's break this down.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I mean, guys, I look, we caught a decent portion
- 25:47Speaker 3: of it and we're just here to react. But you
- 25:49Speaker 3: got to go listen to the full thing. I listened
- 25:51Speaker 3: to the full thing. It's eleven and a half minutes
- 25:52Speaker 3: something like that.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Me me, me, me, me, me me.
- 25:56Speaker 3: He takes breaks, he's on the verge of tears. He's
- 25:59Speaker 3: a he's huffing, he's puffing, he's sighing. I mean it's
- 26:03Speaker 3: only maybe eight minutes in before he's like, thank you
- 26:06Speaker 3: to all of the people who signed up. I'm like, uh,
- 26:09Speaker 3: it is not about you, bro, It's supposed to be
- 26:11Speaker 3: about everybody. I actually thought it was the most Trumpian
- 26:13Speaker 3: thing possible. Uh and uh that was it was in
- 26:16Speaker 3: that moment Graham I was like, he's a politician, because
- 26:20Speaker 3: I can, I say eight and a half minutes, so
- 26:22Speaker 3: it's all about me.
- 26:23Speaker 1: It's just all this is totally wrong.
- 26:24Speaker 4: He was right for politics.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, you know, he really you know,
- 26:27Speaker 3: people are always like, oh, he's a total outsider. I'm like, no,
- 26:29Speaker 3: you had this in you man, You're just like all
- 26:33Speaker 3: the rest of them, which comports, by the way, with
- 26:34Speaker 3: all of your behavior.
- 26:36Speaker 4: And so yeah, look it's tough.
- 26:38Speaker 3: You and I we talked a decent amount over the
- 26:40Speaker 3: last two days about the accusation about people taking a beat.
- 26:44Speaker 3: He is not wrong in my opinion that this is
- 26:47Speaker 3: all being used as a pretext of a coup. And
- 26:51Speaker 3: I want to be clear, this is way bigger than Maine.
- 26:54Speaker 3: This is now the establishment using me too and shady
- 26:59Speaker 3: super pac five oh one C four's to basically come
- 27:02Speaker 3: in not only just take out a candidate here, but
- 27:05Speaker 3: then to discredit everyone in the movement at a national level,
- 27:10Speaker 3: from the consultants on down, to discredit them from the
- 27:14Speaker 3: Democratic establishment. You know, you have people out there, some
- 27:17Speaker 3: of these Superpack people and others saying, if you had
- 27:19Speaker 3: not resigned before today, we're going to blacklist you from
- 27:22Speaker 3: campaign politics forever, all of your consultants, all of these
- 27:25Speaker 3: other people, the main Democratic Party coming in and saying
- 27:28Speaker 3: you will have no say whatsoever on this process. So
- 27:32Speaker 3: beyond plattners, you know, me, me, me, it's a very
- 27:34Speaker 3: cry baby honestly, like his entire video. It also is,
- 27:38Speaker 3: in my opinion, like really pathetic Ryan, because he did
- 27:40Speaker 3: not actually demand or extract any concessions whatsoever.
- 27:44Speaker 1: People say, what power.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Do you have?
- 27:47Speaker 3: I mean, your name's on the ballot, dude, you can
- 27:48Speaker 3: you actually can demand whatever you want. I don't think
- 27:52Speaker 3: he's wrong, because everything moved so quickly that within what
- 27:56Speaker 3: eight hours of publication of the story, the DSCC, Conshumer,
- 28:00Speaker 3: Act Blue and everybody else was like, you're done. You're
- 28:02Speaker 3: cut off from the platform, like the infrastructure was over.
- 28:05Speaker 3: But I mean, I do think there's a world where
- 28:08Speaker 3: I mean, I ultimately his line about people will say
- 28:11Speaker 3: me withdrawing has nothing to do with the admission of guilt,
- 28:14Speaker 3: like I'm sorry, Like you will be branded as a
- 28:16Speaker 3: rapist for the rest of your life, like period, end
- 28:18Speaker 3: of story. And if you didn't do it, I can
- 28:19Speaker 3: only say this, you know, for at a personal level.
- 28:22Speaker 3: But also you know, I know a decent number of
- 28:24Speaker 3: politicians or observe them all too in general, like if
- 28:27Speaker 3: you really are not guilty, you fight, you stand up
- 28:30Speaker 3: and you fight.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Brett Kavanaugh fought, you know, many others.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Or even if you are guilty. In some cases, they
- 28:36Speaker 3: stand up and they fight and they win. Just take
- 28:38Speaker 3: a look at you. Half the people administration.
- 28:40Speaker 5: I've covered a lot of different instances where people have
- 28:43Speaker 5: been accused and they and they drop out and then
- 28:46Speaker 5: they spend like the rest of their life trying to
- 28:48Speaker 5: clear their name. One thing that I thought he failed
- 28:52Speaker 5: at in this video and in his previous one, his
- 28:56Speaker 5: like two minute video whether the story first came out,
- 28:59Speaker 5: was he just come out with this full on, these
- 29:02Speaker 5: are false allegations, right and then and then moves on.
- 29:07Speaker 5: He makes no space whatsoever for this woman who's been
- 29:14Speaker 5: his who he dated for like two years, to even
- 29:18Speaker 5: say something about how she felt about the experience, just a.
- 29:24Speaker 4: Straight up this is false.
- 29:26Speaker 5: But then doesn't give his supporters anything to hang there,
- 29:31Speaker 5: to hang their support on.
- 29:33Speaker 4: Okay, it's false. How is it false?
- 29:36Speaker 5: Like you didn't go over there, it was consensual, Like,
- 29:38Speaker 5: what's the what is what is your side of the story?
- 29:41Speaker 5: If this is a he said, she said, we have
- 29:44Speaker 5: the she said like she courageously went to the press
- 29:48Speaker 5: told her story.
- 29:50Speaker 4: There is no he.
- 29:51Speaker 5: Said other than it's all absolutely false. The yesterday when
- 30:00Speaker 5: when we were talking about this people should go back
- 30:02Speaker 5: and watch our conversation. But then on Twitter, like particularly,
- 30:07Speaker 5: there was a Twitter post from a drop site that
- 30:10Speaker 5: people thought was kind of suggesting that, oh, because she
- 30:15Speaker 5: sent this text, therefore all of this is justified.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Which is the opposite of what we said. The opposite
- 30:20Speaker 4: of what we said.
- 30:21Speaker 5: And I think anybody who watches the segment will understand that.
- 30:24Speaker 5: But I can understand why people like who are just
- 30:28Speaker 5: scanning quickly would come away in a.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Good faith way with like, is that what they're saying. No,
- 30:34Speaker 4: of course that's not what we're saying.
- 30:35Speaker 5: We are litigating the most serious allegation you can make
- 30:41Speaker 5: against somebody's short of murder, literally in the court of
- 30:44Speaker 5: public opinion. If we're going to do that, and if
- 30:50Speaker 5: the victim is putting forward her version of the story,
- 30:56Speaker 5: the media should accurately present her version of the story.
- 31:00Speaker 5: She told her version on the record to Politico. Politico
- 31:04Speaker 5: selectively chose not to include some details. They included lots
- 31:10Speaker 5: of other details. Doors unlocked, a sewing machine like, lots
- 31:13Speaker 5: of details were put in. They chose not to include
- 31:16Speaker 5: the detail of the text message and then and then
- 31:19Speaker 5: wrote it up in an opposite way, right and if
- 31:23Speaker 5: you're going to if the public is going to hash
- 31:26Speaker 5: this out in the media, and the victim has the
- 31:29Speaker 5: courage to be transparent about what she's saying the media,
- 31:35Speaker 5: it's not up to the media to then like pick
- 31:38Speaker 5: and choose what they put forward in a deliberate and
- 31:40Speaker 5: calculated way. And I think I don't think anybody actually
- 31:44Speaker 5: disagrees with that.
- 31:44Speaker 3: No, they don't disagree. They all are using it again.
- 31:47Speaker 3: That's why I started with the pretext. And I look,
- 31:50Speaker 3: people are like, why are you so My wife actually
- 31:52Speaker 3: asked me, She's like, why do you even care so
- 31:54Speaker 3: much about this? And I was like, because it's not democratic.
- 31:58Speaker 3: I'm an only I don't particularly you know, I don't
- 32:00Speaker 3: love Platner, not some dsa head. I am watching twenty
- 32:05Speaker 3: seventeen era witch hunt style journalism come back into the
- 32:10Speaker 3: fold as an establishment coup forcing mechanism to destroy a
- 32:14Speaker 3: populist movement. It's not my movement, but it is a
- 32:17Speaker 3: populist movement, a genuine populist movement. I think that's outrageous
- 32:21Speaker 3: for our country. And I mean, look, if you don't
- 32:24Speaker 3: spend a lot of time on Twitter, go take a
- 32:26Speaker 3: look at what they're saying. About Ryan like, they really
- 32:28Speaker 3: called you and my rape apologists, They said you were disgusting.
- 32:32Speaker 3: There it's being used by the Zionists because they already
- 32:34Speaker 3: hated you for going after the New York Times rape
- 32:38Speaker 3: story that allegedly happened on October seventh, which you very
- 32:42Speaker 3: very credibly and always with extreme care have not just disputed,
- 32:48Speaker 3: I have discredited completely. You don't do it as a
- 32:51Speaker 3: rape apologist. You do it to set the record straight
- 32:54Speaker 3: because you also know that those accusations about rape on
- 32:56Speaker 3: October seventh were used as a pretext than to just
- 33:00Speaker 3: and to kill tens of thousands of innocent civilians.
- 33:04Speaker 1: That's why you did it, right. And so then let's
- 33:06Speaker 1: step back here.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Well, why do I see all of this Because I
- 33:10Speaker 3: see the architecture in the same architecture and journalism which
- 33:14Speaker 3: was used to destroy people's lives, many ordinary people live,
- 33:17Speaker 3: people much less powerful than Graham Platner.
- 33:19Speaker 4: It's right back.
- 33:20Speaker 3: So not only Ryan were you the subject of intense hatred,
- 33:25Speaker 3: but there was also I sent this to our group chat. Yesterday,
- 33:27Speaker 3: the Columbia Journalism Review ran a full interview with the
- 33:32Speaker 3: story with the reporters who were.
- 33:34Speaker 4: On the Politico story.
- 33:36Speaker 3: And if everyone will remember, we played a video yesterday
- 33:38Speaker 3: of Mika Brazinski saying and questioning the reporter Adam Wren. Hey,
- 33:44Speaker 3: you guys have no evidence. How do you know that
- 33:46Speaker 3: this ever actually happened? What steps did you take for corroboration?
- 33:50Speaker 3: The Columbia Journalism Review, which again is supposed to defend journalism,
- 33:53Speaker 3: here's what it said about Mika's lineup questioning. Brazinski's queries
- 33:57Speaker 3: may not be out of place in a meeting with editors,
- 33:59Speaker 3: fact checkers, and lawyers, but on air, in the absence
- 34:03Speaker 3: of context about the way sexual assault is experience are
- 34:05Speaker 3: shared with others, they display a misunderstanding of the work.
- 34:08Speaker 3: And in other words, how dare you be adversarial?
- 34:12Speaker 4: Now?
- 34:12Speaker 3: She was not even adversarial to the victim, right, she
- 34:15Speaker 3: was not. I promise you, if Jenny Raycott was ever
- 34:17Speaker 3: here on the show, we would treat her with the
- 34:19Speaker 3: absolute utmost respect, and I would not say that I
- 34:21Speaker 3: would not call her a liar, and I would definitely
- 34:23Speaker 3: not even treat her with the way Meeki Persinski.
- 34:25Speaker 4: But the reporter who's doing the work.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sorry, you are actually up for scrutiny. How
- 34:29Speaker 3: dare you Basically, you are completely unassailable because what you're
- 34:34Speaker 3: doing is elevating her story. And yet her story to
- 34:38Speaker 3: you included the detail about that text message and you
- 34:41Speaker 3: didn't include it. So actually you are you should be
- 34:44Speaker 3: subject to intense scrutiny and mister Jake Tapper who never responded.
- 34:49Speaker 4: By the way to our request for her, And.
- 34:50Speaker 5: There's there's a strong argument you made, and I actually
- 34:54Speaker 5: believe it.
- 34:54Speaker 4: I believe this argument.
- 34:56Speaker 5: That the fact that she included this detail about the
- 35:00Speaker 5: text message strengthens her critic I totally agree with you,
- 35:04Speaker 5: because it shows a confidence in her version of the story,
- 35:08Speaker 5: like she's like, look, this is what I experienced.
- 35:11Speaker 4: I'm telling you all of it.
- 35:13Speaker 5: And then Politico sees all of it and they're like, actually,
- 35:15Speaker 5: we're going to leave that out because people are going
- 35:17Speaker 5: to judge that in a way we don't want them
- 35:19Speaker 5: to judge it, and so we're just not going to
- 35:22Speaker 5: include it. That's why they didn't include it, and that
- 35:24Speaker 5: was that was wrong. The blast radius of this is
- 35:30Speaker 5: like infinite almost, it's monument. So the White House cryptos
- 35:35Speaker 5: are we could put this up in post. The White
- 35:38Speaker 5: House cryptos are thinks that crypto interests deserve to benefit
- 35:42Speaker 5: from this. He tweeted at Elizabeth Warren, I wonder how
- 35:46Speaker 5: heavily your colleagues will wait your advice on crypto legislation
- 35:51Speaker 5: after the train wreck you just orchestrated in Maine. And
- 35:55Speaker 5: this is a response to Elizabeth Warren saying, as currently drafted,
- 35:59Speaker 5: the Clarity is a ticket to sanctions of ASI and
- 36:02Speaker 5: the Clarity Act is the meek attempt to regulate crypto.
- 36:06Speaker 5: So the crypto industry, through the White House cryptos are
- 36:09Speaker 5: thinks that they can even exploit this at this point,
- 36:12Speaker 5: it is you know, it is it is open season
- 36:16Speaker 5: for people to use this against people that they that
- 36:20Speaker 5: they've long.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Been going after.
- 36:21Speaker 5: Now, the way that Maine Democrats are currently planning to
- 36:26Speaker 5: replace Platner, we can put up B five here. They
- 36:30Speaker 5: have until I believe it's a twenty seventh or twenty
- 36:32Speaker 5: sixth or twenty seventh to get this done. It would
- 36:35Speaker 5: be a six hundred person convention that would vote on
- 36:40Speaker 5: a replacement. Five hundred of these people would be elected
- 36:45Speaker 5: proportionally by county committees. In other words, the county committees
- 36:50Speaker 5: will have on a Tuesday night, they'll meet and everybody
- 36:54Speaker 5: who shows up then votes for you know who that
- 36:59Speaker 5: county is going to you know who the county is
- 37:02Speaker 5: going to send to this six hundred person convention. Now,
- 37:05Speaker 5: of course, it being the Democratic Party, one hundred of
- 37:09Speaker 5: the six hundred will just be you know, party acts.
- 37:12Speaker 5: So if now not all of those party hacks are
- 37:17Speaker 5: are hacks. Actually, because there's been so much grassroots effort
- 37:20Speaker 5: to take over the Democratic Party, a non trivial number
- 37:24Speaker 5: of those hundred are going to be populous and progressive types.
- 37:28Speaker 5: So the movement that was behind Platner, which included fifteen
- 37:34Speaker 5: thousand volunteers like you were just in Maine. Yeah, that's
- 37:38Speaker 5: a staggering number of people in a state that small.
- 37:42Speaker 5: They're already planning to organize. I mean, everybody obviously is planning,
- 37:47Speaker 5: but they're the ones that are the most organized, planning
- 37:49Speaker 5: to go to these county committee meetings when they're scheduled
- 37:52Speaker 5: and get behind a particular candidate I suspect our reporting
- 37:56Speaker 5: in the case, that will be Troy Jackson, and then
- 37:59Speaker 5: try to send a majority of their own delegates to
- 38:04Speaker 5: the state committee and then nominate nominate Troy Jackson. Troy
- 38:09Speaker 5: Jackson put out a statement announcing that he is running
- 38:12Speaker 5: for office on a platform of Medicare for all, taking
- 38:17Speaker 5: on corporate power, standing up for working people. Conspicuously absent
- 38:23Speaker 5: from his statement was the gods of genocide or an
- 38:27Speaker 5: anti war message. He's opposes the genocide. He has called
- 38:31Speaker 5: it out. He is an anti war candidate in the moment,
- 38:35Speaker 5: He's like, no, I don't think I'm gonna I don't
- 38:39Speaker 5: think we're going to include that necessarily in the statement
- 38:42Speaker 5: that we're putting out here. It's like a lesson learned
- 38:45Speaker 5: type of situation.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I just I mean, I can you could see
- 38:48Speaker 3: it all coming from a mile away, right, because anytime
- 38:51Speaker 3: party apparatics get involved, we all know like they're going
- 38:54Speaker 3: to be disproportionately more establishment.
- 38:56Speaker 4: Yes, I think that people can actually win this though.
- 38:59Speaker 3: You may be right, right, but but we do see
- 39:01Speaker 3: the ground already being set, you know, for I don't know,
- 39:06Speaker 3: like let's.
- 39:06Speaker 4: Put be four up here. For example.
- 39:08Speaker 3: So you have this founder of main beer company, Dan
- 39:11Speaker 3: cleban He now says he's in the race. He says,
- 39:14Speaker 3: for too long, this race has been about Susan Collins
- 39:17Speaker 3: repeated failures. But to do what's right for Maine, that's unacceptable.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Mayners are paying the price for her destructive leadership. He says,
- 39:22Speaker 3: I've been overwhelmed by the countless calls from mayners encouraged
- 39:25Speaker 3: me to consider this race. And he says that he's
- 39:27Speaker 3: going to run in the open and transparent process to replace.
- 39:31Speaker 4: But here's the thing.
- 39:32Speaker 3: I don't know a ton about Dan, but I do
- 39:35Speaker 3: know that he was one of those candidates who had
- 39:38Speaker 3: originally considered running, but Chuck Schumer told him, hey, don't
- 39:41Speaker 3: enter the race because we need Janet Mills.
- 39:43Speaker 4: We got to clear the field and make sure that
- 39:45Speaker 4: he wins.
- 39:46Speaker 3: I'm just pointing out that with all these you know,
- 39:49Speaker 3: some of these outsiders and others. The thing is about
- 39:51Speaker 3: Graham is he ran for a year, so it was
- 39:52Speaker 3: all out there, like we actually knew what he thought
- 39:54Speaker 3: about everything. And you could say that to a much
- 39:57Speaker 3: lesser extent about You could say that to a much
- 39:59Speaker 3: lesser here about Troy Jacks or some of these state
- 40:02Speaker 3: legislator but they didn't have an actually run, you know,
- 40:04Speaker 3: they ran for governor. Yeah, but that's not the same
- 40:07Speaker 3: as a United States Senate. The votes are totally different.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Like these are national politics votes that you're going to
- 40:12Speaker 3: have to take on taxes, on healthcare, on war, how
- 40:15Speaker 3: do we know you know, how you run as a governor.
- 40:18Speaker 3: That's why states very often will choose different party governors
- 40:20Speaker 3: because they don't care necessarily about how you run the state.
- 40:22Speaker 1: But at national level it's totally different.
- 40:24Speaker 3: You might have take an impeachment vote, you might have
- 40:26Speaker 3: to take you know, who knows there are all kinds
- 40:27Speaker 3: of Supreme Court you know in terms of a confirmation.
- 40:30Speaker 4: What do you think about all those things? We can
- 40:32Speaker 4: infer but we don't know.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Graham actually put it all out there and made really
- 40:36Speaker 3: the pretext of his campaign about health care, about wealth,
- 40:40Speaker 3: and about war and those three things. Obviously, we're a
- 40:43Speaker 3: very very powerful message. We don't have it's not even
- 40:46Speaker 3: possible to do the same amount of vetting that's that's required,
- 40:50Speaker 3: I think in the next two week period. Like you know,
- 40:52Speaker 3: if we put that last one B five up here
- 40:55Speaker 3: and again I'll let you explain it better. But this
- 40:58Speaker 3: proportionality by only Committee five hundred, can they really organize
- 41:04Speaker 3: necessarily at the county level in the same way you
- 41:07Speaker 3: think so? Well, But that's my question too, because then
- 41:09Speaker 3: this is where it gets down to the state level
- 41:11Speaker 3: as well.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Well.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Let's think about you know counties are going to if
- 41:14Speaker 3: it's all county committees, isn't that going to disproportionately represent
- 41:18Speaker 3: like more rural areas as opposed to you think so
- 41:21Speaker 3: because I was in Portland in a city. It's proportional, Okay,
- 41:25Speaker 3: So it's a population right, I'm just thinking this.
- 41:28Speaker 4: So it won't disproportionately. It'll be.
- 41:32Speaker 5: The Portland counties and the banger and you know the
- 41:35Speaker 5: areas will have this report, they will have proportionally more
- 41:38Speaker 5: representation at the at the state level. Even so, this, uh,
- 41:44Speaker 5: this movement is much better organized than deeper in every
- 41:50Speaker 5: county in the in the state. So and as the
- 41:54Speaker 5: volut Nathan Bernard's piece is at drop site is really
- 41:57Speaker 5: worth reading. A lot of the volunteers were saying very
- 42:01Speaker 5: quickly like this is heartbreaking to us and we feel betrayed, but.
- 42:05Speaker 4: It's not about one person. Now.
- 42:08Speaker 5: He was a kind of uniquely kind of gifted political talent,
- 42:14Speaker 5: also obviously uniquely flawed, But they were saying, it's not
- 42:18Speaker 5: about one person. All of us can still push forward.
- 42:23Speaker 5: And there's a lot of disillusionment among the kind of
- 42:27Speaker 5: progressive populist world now. But the same structural forces that
- 42:32Speaker 5: have produced. All of the anger that has been channeled
- 42:34Speaker 5: into this movement exists today as they existed last week. Certainly,
- 42:40Speaker 5: immense damage has been done, but the structural the structural
- 42:46Speaker 5: problems that are produced by the oligarchy that created this
- 42:49Speaker 5: movement are still there and they're not going away. And
- 42:53Speaker 5: so that's why I do think actually they have the
- 42:56Speaker 5: organizing capacity and.
- 42:57Speaker 4: The drive and the will.
- 43:00Speaker 5: To by the end of July have have put another
- 43:03Speaker 5: populist up, which will be interesting to see how the
- 43:08Speaker 5: establishment responds, because they've been saying nobody who has had
- 43:12Speaker 5: anything to do with Platner should ever be anywhere near
- 43:14Speaker 5: anything ever again, and that's okay for you to say,
- 43:18Speaker 5: but there are still we're still somewhat of a democracy,
- 43:21Speaker 5: so we'll see.
- 43:22Speaker 3: Let's put this last thing I just sent this guy's
- 43:24Speaker 3: is a new poll actually that was fielded by Platner's
- 43:27Speaker 3: team on Tuesday, gauging the strength of the people who
- 43:31Speaker 3: could replace him on the ballot.
- 43:32Speaker 1: So their internal poll.
- 43:33Speaker 3: This is very small sample size because a snap pole
- 43:35Speaker 3: is seven hundred and eighty five voters. They found Troy
- 43:38Speaker 3: Jackson at forty nine forty four, Susan Collins versus Graham
- 43:42Speaker 3: Plattner would have been forty seven forty two, so Graham
- 43:45Speaker 3: under five points to Susan Collins. In his own poll,
- 43:48Speaker 3: Susan Collins and Janet Mills would have been forty eight
- 43:50Speaker 3: thirty seven. Susan Collins and Jordan Wood would have been
- 43:53Speaker 3: forty seven and thirty eight. Bellows and Shah, they said
- 43:57Speaker 3: both essentially tied Collins at forty seven and forty five
- 44:01Speaker 3: percent respectively.
- 44:02Speaker 4: There's going to be a huge margin of error, and
- 44:04Speaker 4: you know you should take that before before everything. No, no,
- 44:08Speaker 4: this was this was snaphole. So this was I mean.
- 44:10Speaker 5: It's before negative ads, right before a good point hundreds
- 44:13Speaker 5: of millions of dollars spen.
- 44:14Speaker 3: And that's part of the thing too, where you just
- 44:16Speaker 3: don't know. I mean, platinm was a known entity. So
- 44:19Speaker 3: whoever does replace him, this is not necessarily a horrible thing,
- 44:21Speaker 3: but you're gonna need, like, I mean, tens of millions
- 44:25Speaker 3: to tell the state who you are. The NRSC, I
- 44:29Speaker 3: could guarantee you they're on a high. They haven't been
- 44:31Speaker 3: in quite some time. They thought she was dead in
- 44:34Speaker 3: this race, and now they're going to fundraise dramatically and
- 44:38Speaker 3: they're negative ads. Whoever decides they're going to run, they
- 44:41Speaker 3: will be hit with a negative ad the day that
- 44:44Speaker 3: they get announced, and then it's just going to be
- 44:45Speaker 3: blanket the entire state. So look, it's going to be
- 44:48Speaker 3: a wave year. Platiner was still only down five in
- 44:50Speaker 3: the absolute worst of it. I think he's still could
- 44:53Speaker 3: have won personally if he staid and fought. I actually
- 44:56Speaker 3: really think he could have won by maybe one or
- 44:58Speaker 3: two points. But you know, it would have been a harder,
- 45:00Speaker 3: but I think so.
- 45:02Speaker 4: But he decided to drop out.
- 45:03Speaker 3: So now it's just a big question I think about
- 45:06Speaker 3: who's going to be able to replace him, and if
- 45:08Speaker 3: the process doesn't play out for the activists and the
- 45:11Speaker 3: way that they want, do they show up in November,
- 45:14Speaker 3: you know, or are they going to say screw you.
- 45:16Speaker 4: I'm just you know, politics has done for me.
- 45:17Speaker 5: If they feel screwed, right, that could definitely hurt him
- 45:21Speaker 5: in November. I think one final thought is like a
- 45:26Speaker 5: meta thought here in this this show and also independent
- 45:30Speaker 5: media kind of allows us to do this more honest
- 45:35Speaker 5: kind of coverage and frankly just to let people in
- 45:39Speaker 5: on it, like personally and professionally, it's not fun.
- 45:42Speaker 4: No, I'd actually rather not.
- 45:44Speaker 5: Do it, and if you are at a kind of
- 45:48Speaker 5: corporate media outlet, you kind of just don't do it. Yeah,
- 45:52Speaker 5: and you're actually okay with that, you like, I can't
- 45:54Speaker 5: do it.
- 45:55Speaker 4: Like so.
- 45:55Speaker 5: In twenty twenty, Alex Morse's Democratic candidate arm Abraham running
- 46:00Speaker 5: in western Massachusetts got accused of all sorts of stuff
- 46:03Speaker 5: and I said, where's the evidence for this? I was
- 46:07Speaker 5: getting called a creep or a rape apologist all and
- 46:11Speaker 5: then over time it turned out, and we did the
- 46:15Speaker 5: reporting on this, that it was a actual coordinated smear
- 46:19Speaker 5: campaign that was fabricated by people who wanted jobs in
- 46:23Speaker 5: the other guy's office, and the guy's entire reputational safety
- 46:29Speaker 5: still ended up losing. Is this damaging stuff? He's now
- 46:31Speaker 5: a Provincetown may not mayor what do you call it?
- 46:35Speaker 4: Town manager?
- 46:36Speaker 5: Best job, best job in the world for him. In
- 46:40Speaker 5: twenty twenty one, Scott Stringer was running for mayor and
- 46:44Speaker 5: faced some really complicated and odd allegations which are now
- 46:47Speaker 5: still playing out in court. We were the only ones
- 46:50Speaker 5: that did any reporting on what are the actual allegations here?
- 46:53Speaker 5: And it's not because we want to do that, it's
- 46:56Speaker 5: that because structurally we can there's an obligation to do it,
- 47:02Speaker 5: like because if we can do it, and we know
- 47:05Speaker 5: that there are facts out there that aren't being included
- 47:07Speaker 5: in the in the public discussion, even if it's difficult
- 47:10Speaker 5: to put those forward. If we don't do it, then
- 47:13Speaker 5: what are we doing with the space that has been
- 47:16Speaker 5: created for us by this independent audience? I agree, we
- 47:20Speaker 5: would just be coasting on it and cynically just cashing checks.
- 47:25Speaker 5: So if you're not doing the hard thing, you're not
- 47:28Speaker 5: You're you're not living up.
- 47:29Speaker 4: To your obligation, and you have to. That's a thank
- 47:31Speaker 4: you to the people who make this possible.
- 47:33Speaker 3: And you have to see and look, I mean, I
- 47:35Speaker 3: don't know, this isn't this isn't about us, but we
- 47:37Speaker 3: can see. How how many dms do we get from
- 47:40Speaker 3: people in the mainstream media or like thank you for.
- 47:42Speaker 4: Doing it, yes, thank you for doing that. Yes, but
- 47:44Speaker 4: they can't do it like all day, all day yesterday. Yes,
- 47:47Speaker 4: people reaching out here like.
- 47:48Speaker 3: Good story, great story, you're totally right, but you know,
- 47:53Speaker 3: guess what they're working for, A big corporation Columbia Journalism Review.
- 47:57Speaker 4: I mean, look what happened.
- 47:58Speaker 3: I just told you, Meek a present multi millionaire hostman MSNBC,
- 48:02Speaker 3: daughter of a daughter of Heitan, Titan of the American
- 48:06Speaker 3: as as you can get in the and she's getting
- 48:09Speaker 3: hit for being semi skeptical about a me too allegation
- 48:13Speaker 3: to a reporter, not even to a victim, all right,
- 48:16Speaker 3: and so for just.
- 48:17Speaker 5: The general principle of very serious allegations requires require serious screens.
- 48:21Speaker 3: And you know again, you know all the people at Politico,
- 48:23Speaker 3: these reporters, they're being failed as heroes.
- 48:26Speaker 4: Maybe they are.
- 48:27Speaker 3: I don't know, you guys can decide. Jake Tappernal, Oh
- 48:29Speaker 3: my god, what a great interview. Everything is all praise.
- 48:32Speaker 3: So if you you know, if you don't swim in
- 48:35Speaker 3: that current and you swim against it, the hatred that
- 48:38Speaker 3: you engender in them, you put your literal livelihood at risk.
- 48:41Speaker 3: And so it's easier to just stay silent.
- 48:43Speaker 5: But they do, they do know how to scrutinize allegations.
- 48:46Speaker 5: When Tara Reid came forward with one on the rest, yeah.
- 48:49Speaker 3: Or yeah right, if anybody who is inconvenient to the system,
- 48:54Speaker 3: then they definitely know how to scrutinize a victim or
- 48:58Speaker 3: they know how or with Christine Christine Bosi for oh,
- 49:02Speaker 3: she's the greatest truth teller in history, even.
- 49:05Speaker 5: Though I'm like or on the right, she's the biggest
- 49:07Speaker 5: liar in here or the biggest lion.
- 49:09Speaker 4: All the same people who are saying, no, that's driving me. Yeah, exactly.
- 49:12Speaker 3: These guys who you know, called the hag Seth accuser,
- 49:16Speaker 3: like basically a liar, you know who are all like, oh,
