- 0:06No. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? Welcome to watch at least
- 0:13favorite scary movie. The podcast, where we talked
- 0:15about the good, the bad, the ugly in the Absurd and all of
- 0:18our favorite. And least, favorite scary movie
- 0:20because we believe every horror movie, rightfully has his fan
- 0:22base. Even if we don't always get it.
- 0:24My name is Travis. My name is Jessie.
- 0:26And today, we are alive uncut and mostly undrawn with another
- 0:30Addition of to be or not to be. Hey.
- 0:32Yep. We will be talking 2002's nine
- 0:36lives that it was 2004. I've got information on that.
- 0:41Okay, fret not, what did I get 2000?
- 0:44Ford innocence that was what was on to be and I figured it out.
- 0:48Okay I figured it out so don't don't worry I've got that coming
- 0:51for you. Okay I don't think we have any
- 0:53announcements. No I don't think so none that I
- 0:57can think of. So we'll go ahead and jump
- 0:58straight into it, okay. So is my month to pick our to be
- 1:02or not to be movie and I chose nine lives.
- 1:07This released August 26, 2002 at the BFI London Film Festival.
- 1:13There was no like official wide theatrical release.
- 1:17There were several different DVD releases from different dates in
- 1:21different countries. 2004 was the u.s.
- 1:25DVD release so I think that's why it said 2004 on to be okay.
- 1:29That makes sense. Yeah I guess also makes sense
- 1:33that this didn't make it to theaters.
- 1:39It feels like it has like the makings of A theatrical movie by
- 1:44like, I don't know. Yes, it falls just short of the
- 1:48mark but I need to meet my fucking computer.
- 1:51Yay, live. So we'll get more into our
- 1:57opinions on that here momentarily.
- 1:59I have the barest of background information for us because you
- 2:02first walk us through, why you chose this one, I'm just
- 2:06curious. What about this one?
- 2:08Oh I was going to do that before I shared my thoughts on it.
- 2:11Okay, well then never mind. I'll watch.
- 2:12Is steer the ship on this, okay? I'm sorry.
- 2:16So obviously we watched on TV, this is our TV or not to be
- 2:19episode. We like to go through to be and
- 2:21take a chance on an unknown movies.
- 2:25Sometimes we find treasures. Sometimes, it's another man's
- 2:30treasure. That's a way to say it.
- 2:34So, this movie was written by Andrew Green with additional
- 2:39dialogue by Tom, McRae, and directed by Andrew Green.
- 2:42Music by Josh Grafton and Edward White.
- 2:45Nobody is credited as a special effects makeup artist?
- 2:49Well, yeah, I can see, like, there's like a little bit of
- 2:53blood splattered on somebody occasionally and then they like,
- 2:56put like a spot of blood on people occasionally but then
- 2:59that's the extent of the special effects.
- 3:01Yeah. Yeah, and blood.
- 3:04I have a lot of issues with the pollution starring.
- 3:08Maybe. I don't really know.
- 3:11You would think I would have nine names.
- 3:12I have 11 names here, dude. Should have been nine people,
- 3:15write nine lives. It shouldn't like nine,
- 3:17different lives, and I was riding down the castle.
- 3:20I was like, I don't remember this name, but I remember this
- 3:22name. So I just wrote down all of them
- 3:24except for the voice of Marie because I know do they did?
- 3:27We did get a voice right. Barely.
- 3:30So why is this movie called not? Venera.
- 3:33I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I have a lot of questions for this movie
- 3:36and we're okay. We'll dive into this here in
- 3:39just a second. I guess Rosie fellner is Emma.
- 3:42Vivian Harvey is Lucy Paris. Hilton is Joe, Patrick Kennedy
- 3:46is Tim David leeches, Paul David Nicole is Pete.
- 3:52Been, Payton is Andy, James Schlesinger's, as Damian, Lex
- 3:56trap null is Tom, Maureen. Turner is Linda, and Amelia
- 3:59Warner is Laura, very shocked that pair is sold Isn't another
- 4:03horror movie. I thought that that was like the
- 4:05main draw of House of Wax is because it's like, it's Paris
- 4:09Hilton in a horror movie. Yeah, well, we talked about that
- 4:14extensively on her House of Wax episode in the problems that I
- 4:17have with that marketing that they did know.
- 4:19I think, that the marketing for that was watch her die.
- 4:21I think, right? Yeah.
- 4:23And this one, like, I just, I'm just surprised that she's in
- 4:25another, I know. Well, I'd had this on Saved.
- 4:29Ready to go for a rainy day? Uh-huh.
- 4:32You're struggling to find one yesterday.
- 4:34Yeah. And I was like, is that Paris
- 4:36Hilton? You're like, no, it's not Paris
- 4:38Hilton, and then you saw a different clip.
- 4:40You're like, oh my God, that's It's Paris Hilton.
- 4:42Well, it's because I was seeing like a general view of the whole
- 4:45cast and then all of a sudden, it seemed was in on the single
- 4:48picture her in like oh, that's fucking Paris Hilton.
- 4:52Estimated budget of four million dollars what?
- 4:55And absolutely nothing. What they made four million
- 5:00dollars to make this. Where did the money go Paris,
- 5:04Hilton Paris, Hilton problem and that that castle I guess?
- 5:09Yeah. Do you want to take a stab it
- 5:12with the IMDB rating, is this? I had never heard of this before
- 5:18and it had some money thrown at it.
- 5:21So, So I don't know. It probably didn't do too well
- 5:24with people. So I'm going to say it's like a
- 5:2632.3. Oh wow this is way worse than I
- 5:31was going to say damn for comparison.
- 5:35Here's some other 2002 horror releases, okay fear.com hey that
- 5:42released August thirtieth two thousand two.
- 5:45That one had a gargantuan budget, 40 million that's so
- 5:48stupid. I can't believe they spent 40
- 5:51million. Dollars on that movie worldwide,
- 5:53gross of, 18.9 million. I remember that.
- 5:55Because I was, when we had the pot leading people on.
- 5:59Oh, yeah. For Halloween.
- 6:00Because, you know, it's like another online type of movie and
- 6:03I was like, you guys are gonna be really sad when you hear this
- 6:05information about fear.com and I'm here to get again.
- 6:08And I'm still sad. Yeah, it's got a three point
- 6:11four out of ten. Right now that has a 3.4, holy
- 6:14shit. I didn't think people hated it
- 6:15that much. We need to watch that again, a
- 6:18second movie. I have American Psycho to All
- 6:23American Girl. Oh my God, we haven't seen that
- 6:25one. Either that released June 10th
- 6:282002 with a budget of 10 million dollars and no reporting's on
- 6:33the worldwide gross. Uh, three point seven out of
- 6:36ten. Wow, so you just got like all
- 6:38the bottom of the barrel horror movies.
- 6:40Gathered up here. Don't say that.
- 6:43Yeah, is it Halloween? Know what is it?
- 6:49No, no. Scooby-Doo.
- 6:54The original Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo, the movie.
- 6:57That's like, the best one, then that's like that.
- 6:59Okay, I'll count. If this movie is a horror movie.
- 7:02Scooby-Doo is a horror movie. Well, it came up when I searched
- 7:062002 horror movies, Robin. Okay, I'll count.
- 7:09It's more of a family friends, anyone, but there's some pretty
- 7:11terrifying things in that movie. It was released June 14th. 2002
- 7:16budget of 84 million. It's been 84 million dollars on
- 7:21Scooby-Doo. They grossed Only 5 million.
- 7:25Okay. But you gotta think about the
- 7:26cast on it. Yeah.
- 7:27Sarah. Michelle Gellar, you have
- 7:29Freddie Prinze jr. Matthew Lillard who played
- 7:33Velma, oh, fuck. I can't remember her name.
- 7:36She's been on a lot of stuff I can remember and who played
- 7:38Scooby. They have, they probably had,
- 7:40oh, gee Scooby in there because it's just the voice unless they
- 7:43had somebody like Mosher cap. Motion.
- 7:44Capturing the dog like probably Sean gunzburg.
- 7:48Yeah, do this James Gunn? Yeah, I guarantee you soon.
- 7:51Yeah. It's his name.
- 7:52Sean Gunn, right? Yeah, it's totally A shotgun.
- 7:54This is Scooby-Doo for sure. Oh, that was a five point two
- 7:59out of ten. Okay.
- 8:00So and I also Halloween Halloween, resurrection yes.
- 8:04Wow, 2002 was probably not a very great year for horror.
- 8:08It doesn't sound it now. No, I mean resurrections, okay.
- 8:11But I like it for what it is Scooby-Doo's?
- 8:14Fine too. Yeah, but these are the ones.
- 8:16Who? Yeah.
- 8:18Do you want to hear a tagline? Just one?
- 8:22It's going to have nothing to do with the move.
- 8:24I guarantee it. What is it?
- 8:27Their number is up. Yeah.
- 8:29Okay, well okay sure. It literally like the nut, the
- 8:33fact that there's nine of them has no significance to this
- 8:36movie at all. See how it doesn't matter.
- 8:38I was fully prepared for them to not even be have like didn't
- 8:41even have nine people. I was just like like they just
- 8:44gave it. The name, Nine Lives, just for
- 8:45the hell of it. They didn't this movie is a
- 8:49confused mess in every bit of its being I would expect the
- 8:55title to also follow that being said, I guess it's a good time
- 8:59for us to go into our pre discussion thoughts and
- 9:02writings, okay. Do you want me to go first so I
- 9:04can explain why I chose the side?
- 9:06Yeah well you didn't do the, did you do all the background
- 9:10information? We never do fun facts for these
- 9:12now. That's right.
- 9:13We don't okay never mind. Oh yeah sure good.
- 9:15Okay tell me tell me your stuff. Okay so this is pretty much The
- 9:23type of movie, I love people are trapped in a location together.
- 9:27It's friends. Usually there's some form of
- 9:30like drama in the friend group something's happening.
- 9:33They've got to solve the mystery.
- 9:35They're isolated, it's usually fun, and then add Paris Hilton.
- 9:40On top of this, boom seems Seems great.
- 9:43She should be the source of the drama and that's why I chose it.
- 9:48Yeah, I thought it would be fun. Okay.
- 9:53So the good, it's a really good concept and I think the set
- 10:01pieces are really interesting. Okay.
- 10:05The bad. I think they have far too many
- 10:12people. And they don't make use of the
- 10:15cast because I listed 11 names, we don't know who doesn't belong
- 10:20in the list. We don't know which one of them
- 10:21is not the nine friends. That's true.
- 10:24Yeah, I couldn't keep track while I was writing anything on
- 10:27my paper. It's only I don't even think I
- 10:29know all of the characters names and are watching.
- 10:32I can once we finish and got credits as like, who was some of
- 10:34this? These people I just wrote down
- 10:37all of the cast and I don't know who is, who for most of it.
- 10:40It's until we get down to the last four or five then you You
- 10:43kind of start to get an idea of who is who, and you get a little
- 10:46bit more information on them, but they're all just so
- 10:49two-dimensional and flat. We've got rich, girl, rich
- 10:54non-british, girl, Paris. I never learned her name.
- 10:58I just wrote her down as Paris the entire time and then I don't
- 11:02like, I feel like they probably said her name.
- 11:03One time that was and I never got it.
- 11:06We've got rich American Girls boyfriend.
- 11:10We've got Birthday boy, who owns a castle.
- 11:15And I, okay, I'll go get it. Let me say this from my
- 11:18thoughts. Sorry, go ahead.
- 11:20We have generic Friends of birthday, boys.
- 11:24Some are male summer, female. We've got girl who makes it to
- 11:29almost to the end and maybe likes the Scottish boy and Scott
- 11:34totally like Scottish boy. That's it.
- 11:36Like, there's not, there's nothing to these characters to
- 11:38make you care about them, which I could be fine.
- 11:41And this type of a movie She and we will talk about that more.
- 11:44When we talk about this week's Main feed episode Truth or Dare,
- 11:48but this just doesn't work because we're not even getting
- 11:52like an interesting like people. Yeah, we're not getting
- 11:55interesting action happening with it.
- 11:57Yeah, the stakes never feel like there's no highs and lows to
- 12:02this movie, there's nothing. I don't know, I don't know.
- 12:07I just there's too many people. You don't get any sense of the
- 12:1210. In amongst them, they try to
- 12:14throw some stuff in there. There's some relationship drama,
- 12:18it just, it feels very one. Pass at the screenplay were
- 12:23filming in 10 days. That's it.
- 12:25We're done. Yeah.
- 12:26It is it just it's missing a little bit of Polish to it a
- 12:34little bit of. Why do I care about this?
- 12:38The ugly. I don't know enough about the
- 12:42socio-political climate re Britain and Scotland.
- 12:51Yeah. That feels like the Crux of
- 12:54what's Happening Here barely. Yeah but kind of super important
- 12:59but like kind of not even really there.
- 13:01Yeah. Also why the fuck was Paris?
- 13:05Hilton killed at the beginning? We kind of got an explanation.
- 13:07The nation for all the rest of them.
- 13:09But she's just, we don't even actually know who killed her,
- 13:12she just, we don't know, we don't know who killed her and
- 13:17then the Absurd. I just really like the whole
- 13:26thing, none of it makes any sense, it's very flimsy.
- 13:29I can't pick one absurd moment. I guess it's going to be like,
- 13:33toms initial possession because it comes from out of nowhere.
- 13:36I know. Why would you chose and what did
- 13:38he do? It would have made sense if he,
- 13:39if it happened. After he broke Rich, boys,
- 13:43library, and found the journal. And, oh, that's how I got
- 13:46possessed. But no, it happened in a
- 13:48different order than that. It's super strange.
- 13:50Yeah. So I didn't enjoy this movie as
- 13:55much as I really wanted to, so I'm giving it a 3 out of 10.
- 13:58Okay, so, well that's kind of where I was with my IMDb score
- 14:02that's because it was my personal score to so I'm also
- 14:05giving it a 30-second so the good for this I do feel like
- 14:10they had I feel like they had like a legitimate crew behind
- 14:13this movie. They had competent people
- 14:17operating here. So they had people like the
- 14:19acting is not bad. The camera works pretty good.
- 14:25Like I feel like they had a good crew and then everything else
- 14:30like the directing and the riding which will probably bleed
- 14:35into my bed. Here is just kind of done so
- 14:38poorly that we don't really we get this story and it's such a
- 14:45jumbled mess. Yeah.
- 14:47Which is also going to go to my ugly because of the way that
- 14:51this movie is cut. The way that the writing and
- 14:55dialogue plays out, it doesn't make any sense.
- 14:58I was lost so many times and I feel like certain scenes.
- 15:02I feel like they shot a movie and they lost footage of things
- 15:05that happened in between, and we just don't get it where they
- 15:10just didn't like, they forgot to film him.
- 15:12Like they forgot to turn the camera on, but they totally
- 15:14thought that they were recording.
- 15:15And that moment because like will get moments where something
- 15:20is happening and then we'll cut to something.
- 15:23And it's like they have already done something else and they're
- 15:25like in the middle of a new thing and it's just so jarring.
- 15:30It's such a fucking jarring experience.
- 15:32This maybe does a lot of tell don't show instead of the other
- 15:36way around because they'll be like oh my God, Tom's dead, we
- 15:39never saw Tom died. Yeah, we saw him attack.
- 15:43Tim which why the fuck are their names also similar?
- 15:46Which is my absurd because it's the even down to the naming.
- 15:51If you're writing a movie And you're going to have a scene
- 15:54with two characters that are in a room by themselves.
- 15:57That is kind of a key moment in the series.
- 15:59Where are you going to name them Tim and Tom that is too fucking
- 16:02similar realistically. Sure to people that's him and
- 16:06it's on could be friends but if you're writing a movie don't
- 16:09don't do that. That just confuses the audience.
- 16:11If you've got nine nothing Burgers of characters.
- 16:15Yeah, at least give them distinctive name.
- 16:17So you can tell them apart. Yeah it's just so fucking
- 16:22strange man. This movie is just really,
- 16:24really weird. I feel like there could there is
- 16:28something there. There could have been an
- 16:29interesting story but whoever made this just drop the ball the
- 16:34entire way and it makes sense that it didn't get an official
- 16:39release because like, who the fuck would have watched this and
- 16:43said yep we're sending that out to theaters.
- 16:46So yeah I'm sticking with my 3 out of 10.
- 16:50What the fuck was this shit? Okay, let's talk about it.
- 16:54See if we can make it, make any sense.
- 16:57If it makes us feel any better by the end, I really feel like
- 17:00this is gonna be a short discussion because the plot is
- 17:03so Bare Bones. Yeah, 49 characters 8.
- 17:09More than nine of whom died. That's all they think to.
- 17:11Why is it called Nine Lives. They killed the help in the
- 17:13house, too. That's true.
- 17:16And what is significant about? I don't, I don't understand.
- 17:18I don't understand, I don't. Yeah, I don't, man.
- 17:22I just don't think that should have been the tagline.
- 17:25Nine Lives. I don't, I can't even.
- 17:29Okay. Okay, let's start off with start
- 17:32off in the race. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:34It's so we get a girl who we eventually learned is.
- 17:38Aura. I remember that name?
- 17:40Yeah, well, I couldn't tell if she was Laura or Lauren and this
- 17:44is with subtitles on. Yeah, I couldn't tell if she was
- 17:47Lauren Lauren so my notes go back and forth.
- 17:50So if you're one of our patrons and you're looking at my notes
- 17:53and can't tell, who is who I will.
- 17:55Generally can tell, who was who either?
- 17:57So yeah, well she's running through the halls of this
- 18:00mansion and she's banging on a door and she's like, I killed
- 18:02him. I killed him and then it's like,
- 18:04cut to Black and then you get a bunch of cars driving through.
- 18:08Through the countryside. These fuckin opening credits
- 18:11pissed me off so much because every letter e was replaced with
- 18:14the number nine, except the number 9 was backwards.
- 18:17Wait what did you not notice that?
- 18:19No yeah. What was it every letter e was a
- 18:24nine was a nine but I'm backwards 9y, I don't know.
- 18:29Even down to the opening credits what the fuck?
- 18:33I don't understand if they at least made the 39 significant in
- 18:40some way. Okay, but nine doesn't even pass
- 18:44as an e like that's such a fucking straight.
- 18:47Yeah, they flipped it. They flipped it like I wrote it
- 18:49in my notes the way it's in the credits.
- 18:53This is so dumb. We should have known right here
- 18:57that we were in for a while. We would have been better off
- 18:59with that one that I was like, this is too stupid for us to
- 19:01cover. We probably would have had more
- 19:03fun with it. Yeah.
- 19:05I can forgive a movie for being dumb.
- 19:07If it's at least fun but this It wasn't fun.
- 19:09I think I can have fun shooting on this movie.
- 19:11That's where the funds going to come.
- 19:13Yeah. Again, I have to throw out her
- 19:15disclaimer. We've never made a movie.
- 19:17I'm sure it's very hard, and this is no hate to like the
- 19:22directors. But come on, man.
- 19:25I mean, I feel like, we, I guess viewers, we can at least speak
- 19:28to our experience. And that we were very confused,
- 19:31the entire way and I think the, you know, that's what will judge
- 19:34it criticism. This is our personal experience
- 19:36watching this movie. Yeah, so They are driving
- 19:39through the countryside. They lie earlier that day.
- 19:42Oh yeah earlier that day they arrived at a mansion.
- 19:45Yeah. They all arrived Tim sounds like
- 19:49he's giving them a tour and I was like, oh okay.
- 19:51Is he just like the owner of this mansion and he is but he's
- 19:54also their friend from the very beginning, the dialogue makes no
- 19:57sense the way they talk to each other.
- 19:58I love how they all pile into this mansion and they are all a
- 20:02normal group of people. And then there's Paris, I is how
- 20:05this movie is set in Scotland and there's only one in Scottish
- 20:09person. I swear, as soon as I saw Paris,
- 20:11I thought that she was going to start doing a Scottish.
- 20:14I got some wish she had. I really wish that were of
- 20:17elevated this movie to a 5 for me.
- 20:19Yes, I was going to say, that's my one change for the movie: it
- 20:22now, but she stands out like a sore thumb.
- 20:25I mean, nice fashion, you know, good for her but like
- 20:27everybody's wearing like, very muted colors and she's wearing
- 20:31these really bright and flashy quotes.
- 20:33Yes, I understand. It's like she's wearing a Juicy
- 20:36Couture sweatsuit. Accepts that It's it's patent
- 20:41leather. Yeah, it is.
- 20:44It's a choice. It's very early 2000's.
- 20:47And I don't hate it. She arrived on set that day and
- 20:51was wearing that, and they were like, no perfect.
- 20:53The Wardrobe Department was like, Hey Paris, we got your
- 20:55outfit here and she's like no and then just like stuck with
- 20:59her outfit. All right.
- 21:02So yeah. They're getting a tour of the
- 21:03Mansion. They don't even know why they're
- 21:06there yet. They all have room assignments
- 21:08which I Feel like there's probably enough rooms in a
- 21:11fucking Mansion this man. Do you have like actual hired
- 21:15employees? I live there?
- 21:16Yeah, yeah, there's plenty feel like they could all except for
- 21:19the couple's. I feel like they can all have
- 21:20their own rooms I mean, you can just figure it out, man.
- 21:23Yes, but Tim, this is Tim. Yeah.
- 21:28We see one guy driving. It's Peter apparently he's the
- 21:31poor of the group. Yeah.
- 21:33Poor little Scottish boy. Poor little Scottish boy.
- 21:38Driving around and we hear on the radio that there's a news
- 21:43forecasts of like shit. Thundersnow me CM.
- 21:46Yeah. So stay off the roads.
- 21:48We don't know the metric system but that sounds like a lot.
- 21:51Yeah. Okay.
- 21:52See him 70cm? Okay, I feel like the only
- 21:55reason that they did this was one, so they could have a way to
- 21:59throw in that. There's bad weather that way
- 22:02that there's stuck there. Yeah.
- 22:04And to so that way all the other characters can talk About
- 22:08whether or not they actually like Peter before he gets there.
- 22:12Yeah, because he's the one that stands out because he's
- 22:15Scottish, I guess, I don't know. They make a point to really
- 22:19single this guy out and like really he's just part of the
- 22:21friend group. Yeah.
- 22:23He's just but he's known some of them since elementary school
- 22:26again. I don't understand like because
- 22:28he says that he's lived. His family has a farm, you can't
- 22:32go home to see his family very often because he gets forced to
- 22:36feed the cows at 5 a.m. But he's friends with all of
- 22:40these British people that are not Scottish.
- 22:43I'm so confused, British people, and then Paris, who's American
- 22:47still? Yes, what is she doing here?
- 22:49She's the okay. She's one of the guys.
- 22:52I think she's just tagging along because I don't even remember.
- 22:55Okay, his name is Tom. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:57Tom, he is, dating Paris, and hey, for three years.
- 23:03Yeah, we get a little bit of relationship drama between the
- 23:06two of them. It's so low stakes.
- 23:08Though it is. Yeah.
- 23:09It's like not exist. They're very like, very Kelly
- 23:12and Ryan. Yes.
- 23:14But she's, she's just tagging along.
- 23:16I think she doesn't know the group of people know she's best
- 23:19friends with one of them. What does she want ones?
- 23:21Yeah, but they pretend like she's not really like she's
- 23:24there because of him. See this is what I'm talking
- 23:27about. I just don't understand what's
- 23:28going on here. Yeah.
- 23:29Because when she dies, the one blond one is like Maybe her name
- 23:33is Emma. She is like inconsolable,
- 23:35because she's like, she was my best friend really, Emma.
- 23:38You've only known her for two days.
- 23:42You're so dramatic. Okay.
- 23:44So they're all like, hanging around talking, Peter does in
- 23:47the showing up, he starts, he, heads upstairs.
- 23:52This is one of those moments I was talking about where it just
- 23:55kind of jump cuts to like we missed something because he's
- 23:58going upstairs. Nobody knows he's there.
- 24:00I'm assuming the drop off his bags.
- 24:02And then immediately cuts to him walking down the hall with
- 24:06Laura. Yeah, I'm like, where did this
- 24:08happen? Like, how did she know that he
- 24:10was there? Why is she giving him a tour of
- 24:13the house? What is happening here?
- 24:16Yeah, it's so confusing. They had already gotten dressed
- 24:21for dinner yet, for some reason, once Peter arrives, they decide
- 24:24they're all going to go freshen up.
- 24:26Like Paris is like I want to take a bath but she's already in
- 24:29her evening gown for dinner and then they're all back
- 24:31downstairs. Tears dressed nicely for dinner?
- 24:34It's so confusing. I've got a couple of quotes from
- 24:37Damien. Okay, the first one here, real
- 24:40men don't wash gross. Yeah, wash your balls Damien.
- 24:46Yeah. Davey is one of those.
- 24:47He's one of those dudes on Reddit.
- 24:49That's like it's gay to touch your own balls.
- 24:52Am I right? Yes, like he's a fucking fuck.
- 24:56What's his name from The Burning?
- 24:59The the bully guy? Oh Glazer.
- 25:02Yeah, he's a fucking laser except it's not a good as big of
- 25:05a meathead but he liked. Subscribe to the same ideology
- 25:08about hygiene. All right, so we are introduced
- 25:13to I'm going to I call this a chitchat montage and here's the
- 25:19thing I think sometimes these work well in movies because you
- 25:22hear Snippets of random past childhood stories.
- 25:25And none of these is interesting.
- 25:26I feel like the attempt here is to try and build the
- 25:29relationships between these people.
- 25:31However, we Yeah. It the thing is none of these
- 25:34matter because I don't know, anybody's names.
- 25:37No, we don't. Yeah, that's the thing.
- 25:38This movie does a very poor job of establishing the characters.
- 25:43They just throw us here with a bunch of them and it's like a,
- 25:45here's their fucking history and and not to get my God.
- 25:49Jesus Travis not to throw it too much to what's going to be our
- 25:57main feed episode this week. But like, They do it better in
- 26:04Truth or Dare by having like, oh, here's a new person who's
- 26:08never met you all. We have an organic reason to
- 26:11introduce names. Yeah.
- 26:13It was kind of interesting watching that back-to-back.
- 26:16Yeah. After this one.
- 26:18Yeah. And then we get that
- 26:20relationship drama between Paris and Tom, which is about I guess
- 26:25like he doesn't buy her gifts and he's like, I bought you a
- 26:27fucking gift and she's like, no, I bought this and then she's
- 26:29like, I don't fucking know. It's like, Are we supposed to
- 26:33believe that there's some kind of tension between these two?
- 26:35Like because I feel like doing something like this right here
- 26:38would like, are they trying to establish a coup would be like
- 26:42suspect? Like would it make sense for Tom
- 26:44to kill her later? Yeah, I feel like that.
- 26:46I agree. I think that's what they're
- 26:48trying to do, but it's such a low stakes argument.
- 26:50Yes. Like especially cuz she's like
- 26:52you never buy me anything nice and he's like, well I bought you
- 26:54this and it cost 800 pounds, because well it's 600 and I know
- 26:57because I had bought it for myself.
- 26:59I returned it. When you gave this to me.
- 27:02Which I think it's like she never even mentioned it to him
- 27:06before now, and she's just like it and they've been dating for
- 27:09three years. For three years at.
- 27:11Yeah, the whole thing is just, it's weird, it's so contrived.
- 27:15And it's also, I guess we're establishing that Laura and
- 27:20Peter. I guess they have like interest
- 27:23in each other romantically and also, we learned that it's the
- 27:26reason that they're here is because it's Tim's 21st birthday
- 27:29party. Yeah, which they had an
- 27:31established. Before.
- 27:32Yeah, so they all finish eating, I guess.
- 27:36And they go to another room. I call this room home base
- 27:40because this is where everybody. This is like a basically
- 27:43establishes home-based later on in the movie.
- 27:45Yeah, it's the library. Yeah, but yeah, it is, it does
- 27:48become their home base. So they're all drinking and
- 27:53Peter and Laura are playing a game together.
- 27:56Yeah. And he's explaining
- 27:58existentialism to her using dice.
- 28:02And magic tricks. It's it's really really weird.
- 28:06Like it doesn't feel organic know, this whole conversation,
- 28:10doesn't let me throw this out there so they can have this
- 28:13moment later, right? Yeah, none of it.
- 28:16Ever feels like actually is real though, but he is, it feels like
- 28:22this movie wants to tell a deeper story than what it's
- 28:24telling and that's what that's what hurts it like.
- 28:27I don't fit just wanted to be like, hey, we're going to have a
- 28:29dumb paranormal Slasher in a mansion.
- 28:31Do that. But like if you're trying to get
- 28:34deep and philosophical you need to do something different.
- 28:39Yeah. So basically the messages, he
- 28:41takes like some dice and he puts them under a light red injures.
- 28:45Yeah. It's like psychology thing,
- 28:47right? Philosophy is this okay?
- 28:50I've always thought that was tired and psychology like
- 28:53psychology and philosophy. Honestly, a lot of the themes
- 28:55are closely intertwined in a lot of ways, okay?
- 28:58But this specifically where she's talking about
- 29:01existentialism Mmm. That's that's got to be
- 29:03philosophy there. Like basically how do we know
- 29:05that anything exists? How do we know that you're real?
- 29:08Also? Schrodinger is quantum physics
- 29:10is Schrodinger. Schroedinger Schrodinger.
- 29:14Whatever. He's like, the dice.
- 29:16Are they real or not? Ha ha.
- 29:17I've got him in my hand here. They're not under the thing
- 29:19anymore. I tricked ya, and I got another
- 29:22Damien, quote, this vodka, whiskey gin rum, ain't gonna
- 29:25drink itself. You know, pick one.
- 29:30Just pick one. Yeah, it's yeah.
- 29:35This whole thing is a mess. Tom is like you guys behave
- 29:38while I'm gone and I'm like, where are you going Tom, he's
- 29:42going to pee. He's going to P, allegedly, he
- 29:46goes to the bathroom and there's this whole moment where he's in
- 29:49there. Yeah, so he finishes peeing, he
- 29:54zips up over top of the sink. First of all, which it looks
- 29:57like he's about to pee into the sink, the way, he's doing it.
- 30:01And then he washes his hands. And instead of drying his hands,
- 30:03he runs his wet hands through his hair.
- 30:07It's so fucking weird. So he starts hearing thuds and
- 30:11he's like, huh, who's there? And then nobody answered his any
- 30:14looks outside and nobody's there.
- 30:16And then he goes back to the mirror.
- 30:17It's like, oh, my eyes are black.
- 30:19And then he's like, shh. I better go back to home base
- 30:23library and he goes there and he's like, sorry guys and I
- 30:26where have you been Tom? It's been 45 minutes.
- 30:28We were starting to get worried about you.
- 30:30He's like I've only been in there for two minutes and it's
- 30:32like Tom, it sounds like you're just trying to cover for the
- 30:36fact that you went in there to secretly poop.
- 30:38He didn't want to tell everybody.
- 30:39You're embarrassed about how long it took you to poop.
- 30:41All they all assumed that he was throwing up because he'd had so
- 30:43much to drink, well, either that but it's just like he.
- 30:49Yeah. So there's like some kind of,
- 30:50like, Supernatural thing. Which what you were saying
- 30:52before? Like it just kind of happens,
- 30:55all of them and then we rinse it off.
- 30:57This weird timey-wimey should never comes up again.
- 31:00It was literally just this moment.
- 31:03Yeah, just him. I guess, just like it wanted to
- 31:05fuck with Tom. Yeah, I guess.
- 31:07Yeah, and look to be clear. He did nothing to instigate this
- 31:11other than going to let. I guess he broke the seal first.
- 31:15I don't know. It wanted him to pee in the sink
- 31:19and when it didn't like, when he Fuck this guy there.
- 31:23Standing here, 45 minutes. Yeah, so everybody else goes to
- 31:28bed except for Tim and Tom. There's a bunch of like random
- 31:32conversations happening that I didn't bother reading now
- 31:34because they did not matter and it's like basically like I guess
- 31:38the one that really matters is I guess Emma I don't fucking know.
- 31:41Her name is like so Peter you fucking like them or not she's
- 31:44like I don't know. Do I like them?
- 31:46Maybe we should not be dating within our own friend group
- 31:49maybe but it really doesn't matter because none of you has a
- 31:52fucking Personality. Yeah.
- 31:57Paris goes to take a bath. Yeah.
- 31:59Again, I don't know. She carrying around her little
- 32:04cosmetic box. This whole time to.
- 32:05She had a downstairs with her while they were all drinking.
- 32:07She like she was, I think obsessed with Tom because he
- 32:10wanted to say drinking with Tim so she's like, fine, I'm gonna
- 32:14go take a stress bath and then she goes up there and then she
- 32:18starts hearing a thud, you would think that like the thing with
- 32:21Tom the bathroom. Yeah, bathroom is what is
- 32:24haunted? I guess it's that scary like You
- 32:26know what? That's a scary concept, Shannon.
- 32:29Elizabeth can attest to this. She should have been smooth
- 32:32because it why was I not notified of the script?
- 32:36She so it seems like every time you're in a bathroom.
- 32:39You here thuds. You know what?
- 32:41That's great. It's a vulnerable thing in a
- 32:43bathroom. You're also in a strange
- 32:44location, you're isolated. Who knows how many bathrooms are
- 32:47in this Mansion. Like cool.
- 32:50Bathroom ghost. I'm here for it.
- 32:52Except downstairs. Tom breaks, a shelf and
- 32:56apparently Li the Shelf being broken causes a giant hole to
- 32:59appear in the wall? Yeah.
- 33:01Like like was a hole there did. Like the is that wall just that
- 33:06shitty? Yeah.
- 33:07Like these are clearly built in shelves.
- 33:09I just, I don't know. And then it goes.
- 33:11Oh man. There's a book over here and
- 33:13Tim's like well, yeah, it's a fucking Library bro.
- 33:15Because no, but look at this and then he makes a big show of
- 33:18going to blow the dust off of and he's like, I've always
- 33:21wanted to do that to do that and he's reading And he's like, oh
- 33:27this is the history of the house and Tim's.
- 33:29Like, yeah, I come from a long line of colonialists.
- 33:34We got this castle of because we my ancestors helped run the
- 33:40Scottish out of this area or something, I don't know.
- 33:43So this is the book I don't ya. I don't know enough about the
- 33:46history of all of this to really speak to it.
- 33:48Isn't it funny how like there's actually no words in this book
- 33:52like any time that they open up a page?
- 33:54It's just pictures. And then Couple of pages that
- 33:57have words in it but it doesn't like I can't read it, okay?
- 34:03I didn't notice that because any time I saw them open the book,
- 34:05it was just pictures and then like burnt holes throughout the
- 34:09entire thing. So, apparently there's this guy
- 34:11Marie used to live in this Castle, or he owned the land, or
- 34:14something like that, I don't know.
- 34:16But when they defeated him, they plucked out his eyeballs and
- 34:20made him eat it. Which that's really gross and
- 34:22probably a step too far, like, just, I don't know.
- 34:25Yeah. Well overboard.
- 34:28Yeah, it's a little bit much. So now we're like, oh cool.
- 34:33That's why his eyes went black before.
- 34:35They weren't actually going black.
- 34:36They were like gone. I feel like, I feel like your
- 34:41eyes would look different if they were gone.
- 34:44Like it wouldn't just be like, there's black here because I've
- 34:47your eyelids Aren't it's not like they just are cupped like
- 34:53this automatically, like you're going over your eye, you know
- 34:56what I mean? It's very lastik.
- 34:58If you didn't have it, there would be like a floppy like, you
- 35:01know, like when you don't have teeth in your lips or learn
- 35:05sloppy Island. Yes, that's an enjoy that
- 35:08inventory phone. Yeah.
- 35:10Like how anytime they like their eyes go black?
- 35:12It's like they don't say his eyes are black.
- 35:14They're like his eyes are blank. Yeah.
- 35:17So I guess he's like reading this and then his eyes go go.
- 35:19Blank. Yeah, and he snaps and elbows.
- 35:22Tim in the head. Yes.
- 35:24And also Paris got stabbed. Yeah.
- 35:27So we don't know what the timeline is on this.
- 35:29But all, we know is that people heard her scream and they go
- 35:31running and they find her stepped gut, wounds are
- 35:34immediately fatal in this movie. I know that's like notoriously
- 35:38one of the slowest death. Yes.
- 35:39So a guts tab. Here's, here's how this breaks
- 35:42down in this movie, a stab to the gut.
- 35:46Instant death flash across the gut, bleed out slowly.
- 35:50Stab to the shoulder. You've got a few minutes.
- 35:52Yeah, you're on your own. Yeah, you're on the brink of
- 35:55death but there's enough time for somebody to go sacrifice
- 35:58themselves. Yeah.
- 35:59So that's that's how this works here.
- 36:03Yeah. So she's been stabbed in the
- 36:04gut, which means she's done for. Yeah, that's Andy arrives.
- 36:08He's a doctor or he's pre-med or something.
- 36:10I don't know. But he was like, it's too late
- 36:13for her stabbed in the gut. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:17Yeah. There's nothing I can do here.
- 36:19Yeah. So they can't call the police
- 36:23because all the lines are down, none of their cell phones, has
- 36:26any signal, they go to look for Tom to tell him that his
- 36:29girlfriend is dead and instead they find Tim passed out, they
- 36:32wake him up and now they're suspicious about Tom.
- 36:36Yeah, because you're like, oh, he attacked him and went and
- 36:38stabbed Joe, which like we said before, like if I feel like they
- 36:42were trying to establish that maybe like he would be a suspect
- 36:46for Trying to Kill Paris. Oh, her name is Joe.
- 36:49Okay, I see. I'm just now learning this.
- 36:53But yeah, it doesn't even really matter.
- 36:55So they yeah. So Emma stays with Tim to keep
- 36:59an eye on him in the library because she's hysterical, and he
- 37:02has probably a very severe concussion.
- 37:05The others are going to look for cell phones and Tom, they hear a
- 37:09ringing phone in one of the rooms, drop it under the bed and
- 37:13in a wild attempt to get it pick up the bed and drop it onto the
- 37:17you don't. So, we accidentally do this,
- 37:19like you, you have to try to smash your phone like this.
- 37:24It's the dumbest fucking good. Smash and you know what?
- 37:31The dumbest fucking thing about this is like it's not even like,
- 37:34oh that's our only phone. We can't call out there.
- 37:36I oh no, we all have cell phones.
- 37:38Like it's not that big of a deal.
- 37:39Everybody has the exact same cell phone.
- 37:42Yeah, I just can't get service that one.
- 37:44Magically was able to get service.
- 37:45Apparently. Yeah, that's a fucking weird
- 37:49decision and then I like, oh, the help lives on site.
- 37:52They probably have cell phones or landlines and Tim's like
- 37:57yeah, they definitely have their own land lines except when they
- 38:00run to their rooms through the kitchen.
- 38:03There's blood Trails, we never see their bodies either, but we
- 38:06know that they've been killed. They don't count Into The Nine
- 38:09Lives. They're not important enough
- 38:10apparently. No.
- 38:12And also now, one of them is suspecting Tim because he's got
- 38:16a little bit of blood on the shirt which was like, why is
- 38:19there blood on your sleeve and heads bleeding?
- 38:22Yeah. And she's like, but it shouldn't
- 38:24be on your sleeve. I would argue he should have
- 38:27more blood than what Only there. Yeah.
- 38:29Like if you're bleeding I could see especially just
- 38:32unconsciously or just subconsciously just taking your
- 38:34arm just like wipe the blood off.
- 38:36Your face said at one point and there was no blood on his sleeve
- 38:40where he did that there's a little bit like his upper arm
- 38:44area, but now Emma's convinced that Tim killed Tom and just
- 38:48because a little bit of blood just because there's a little
- 38:50bit of blood. Yeah.
- 38:51And in that moment, Tom burst into the library, he and Tim Tim
- 38:59apparently duke. It out some and I wind up dead.
- 39:03Tom, winds up dead. Tim has no eyes.
- 39:06The action in this movie doesn't actually happen.
- 39:08Like he like bursts into the room.
- 39:10Yeah. And it's kind of like one of
- 39:12those cartoon fights where it's like a cloud of smoke.
- 39:14You see a bunch of like arms coming out.
- 39:16Yeah, just like you don't know what's happening and then he
- 39:18leaves the room and then all of a sudden they come back and it's
- 39:21like, oh, Emma's been stabbed and like what the fuck?
- 39:23I didn't see that. Yeah.
- 39:25They're like Emma's dead Tom's dead.
- 39:27Tim Is clearly the killer like this is how this movie goes.
- 39:30Somebody burst into a room. We cut away other people.
- 39:33Come in and say what happened? Yeah, it's frustrating.
- 39:39Yeah. Okay.
- 39:41So yeah, now Tim they're all going to go hunt for Tim Damian
- 39:44and Peter they not up. Lucy had gotten slashed in this
- 39:48altercation as well at some point and so and he's keeping an
- 39:54eye on her as her shirt. Slowly becomes bright red.
- 39:58Later on, in the movie, it becomes a more reasonable like
- 40:01dark red. But for a long time, is just
- 40:04like this bright red, which to me says, it's a very shallow cut
- 40:09and she probably won't die. I think she's like just super
- 40:11dramatic. And Andy has been looking for a
- 40:15way out of this relationship without having to break up with
- 40:18her and yeah. Like, oh, man.
- 40:19There's nothing I can do for you here.
- 40:22This sucks. I'm really upset about this.
- 40:25I better get the car. Like I'm yeah.
- 40:28I'll go get the car up and grass has to keep stopping him.
- 40:31She's like, you're not allowed to leave this room.
- 40:34I should probably get the car, but yeah.
- 40:37They all just decide to stay there.
- 40:39Yeah. Damien and Peter are, they can't
- 40:42find Tim's Rock. Okay, let's go back to base and
- 40:44then they try to go back. Let them in it is such bullshit.
- 40:48She's like a, how can I know? And then how can I know that
- 40:51you're not fucked up to? And it's like we haven't even
- 40:53established anything matches happened yet, like it's just
- 40:57Tim. Might be crazy now.
- 40:59And then she's like, I can't let you guys, and I'm sorry, and I,
- 41:02this is bullshit and they're like, okay, I guess we're going
- 41:06to go fucking find him then since you guys won't let us in.
- 41:09Yeah, and then Laura, this is where she finds the book and
- 41:13reads the story of Marie, and all of a sudden, she knows
- 41:15everything that's happening. She is figured it all out.
- 41:19She's like, no, even though like she has like a vague idea of
- 41:23what's going on, but still not really.
- 41:25Yeah, she's like well, if you kill somebody then you become
- 41:27possessed. It how did Tom become possessed
- 41:30in the first place? Yeah.
- 41:34What set this off. That's, that's so yeah.
- 41:37Like it just suddenly possessed him.
- 41:40Did he murder the toilet. Is that what the implication is?
- 41:43You killed something? Maybe like nah.
- 41:47I don't know. I don't know that.
- 41:49We just don't know a fuse gets blown because most lights go out
- 41:53but not all of them. So Damien Pete decide they're
- 41:56going to go look for the fuse box in the cellar.
- 41:57Cellar while they're down there. Tim attacks them.
- 42:00Damien loses his glasses in this attack and ends up stabbing Tim.
- 42:05And I like either, like Damian can't see without his glasses
- 42:08and I'm like in the very first scenes of this movie Damian's,
- 42:10not wearing glasses contacts. Well, yeah, exactly.
- 42:14But like, he could have contacts on like it just because he
- 42:17didn't have his glasses, his mean, he's a goner.
- 42:21So, What's that? Sorry there's dogs barking out
- 42:29our neighborhood. You might be able to hear it and
- 42:31we heard a little Yelp. Everything's okay.
- 42:34Yeah. So P comes to finds Tim's body
- 42:38steps on Damien's glasses. So he runs up there to tell the
- 42:41others and Laura actually lets him in which makes me think that
- 42:44she just didn't like Damien before the she let him and I
- 42:47think any force him in. Yeah, I'm letting him in and
- 42:50then like, he didn't give a fuck what everybody else.
- 42:53So, she's Is her series? She tries to force, Andy to
- 42:56share the theory and he's like, I don't, I don't believe your
- 43:00theory. They tell you.
- 43:00Yes, you do. You have to admit the sooner,
- 43:03you admit it. The quicker.
- 43:04We'll be able to deal with this shit.
- 43:05What the fuck? Are you talking about?
- 43:07And she's crazy, but she's not letting anybody in here right
- 43:10now. Like, I just want to see my
- 43:11friends again and Pete's convinced because he's like,
- 43:14well Damien can't see without his glasses, which isn't an
- 43:16issue. If you don't have eyes what a
- 43:19lot of black but they they want to trap him because a they don't
- 43:25want to kill their friend be, they don't want to get possessed
- 43:28when they killed her friend. So they go to bait him, Laura
- 43:32and Peter do and Andy stays with Lucy, they get their trap all
- 43:38set up, and they think they've got it, except one of the keys
- 43:41goes missing, so they can't lock him into the bathroom door.
- 43:43Yeah. And he just burst out and he
- 43:45just runs doesn't bother killing either of them.
- 43:47No, he doesn't know. That's supposed to be his whole
- 43:49mission. Exactly.
- 43:49He just runs away. So he's he's running, we don't
- 43:53know. Is that it goes back to Andy and
- 43:55Lucy and and he's like I'm going to go sit by this window and
- 43:59then of course we're going to get full Friday.
- 44:02The 13th is, I was seriously, it's so funny seeing this
- 44:07because like this is their stunts, their big stunt for the
- 44:10movie and I like, listen guys, we got tissue or three and a
- 44:13half million of the budget, went to two million, to Paris to
- 44:17million to this. And that's all of the budget,
- 44:20the rest of the casting, get paid.
- 44:21I trust me, you'll get very famous from This move is the
- 44:24jewels. Yeah, so yeah.
- 44:26It's a really lame jump through the window, but he like attacks,
- 44:30Andy, and he lands on Lucy, Andy had previously given her a
- 44:36poker, in case, something happens to him.
- 44:39So she stabs him when he lands on her.
- 44:42And so, she becomes possessed and then Andy has to kill her.
- 44:45Yeah, and it's not emotional at all because Andy does not seem
- 44:50to give a fuck about her. No, there's like, no Chemistry.
- 44:54But there's no chemistry at one point.
- 44:55She's like I'm so sorry soon. He's like here's some water and
- 44:58I think it was meant to be a touching moment but it just
- 45:00seemed like he was like, goddamn shut the fuck out.
- 45:02Like can I get one minute of Peace, please?
- 45:08I also like how it's supposed to be this like amazing snowstorm
- 45:13and like, anytime the easiest shot of like, outside the
- 45:15window, it's like, I'm a light dusting of snow out there.
- 45:18Yeah. Not always actually happened.
- 45:20Yeah. Laura.
- 45:22Gives Pete. The weirdest pep talk.
- 45:24I've ever heard. She is like I could survive
- 45:26without you but I need you to keep going.
- 45:29Yeah like what? So he they see the front doors
- 45:33open. So he goes and follows Damien or
- 45:36yeah. Dave.
- 45:36Amiens footsteps, and then it's where he finds Damien and Lucy's
- 45:39bodies. Andy.
- 45:41Meanwhile, sneaks up on Laura and she stabs him and this is
- 45:45where we cut to the beginning scene of her running and crying
- 45:48into the library because I killed him.
- 45:50I killed him and so really kill him.
- 45:51Yeah, you just stab him in the shoulder which is not as fatal
- 45:54as a got stabbed. Yes.
- 45:56But it's still fatal. Yeah.
- 45:57So she's telling she's asking Pete to let her in.
- 46:01He's like, oh um, yeah. It's your turn and she's like,
- 46:04no. But this time you really need to
- 46:06actually Let me and he's like, no, he's like, and then she's
- 46:08like, he's not dead yet, but he's dying.
- 46:10But if you kill me first, it breaks the chain and he's like,
- 46:14no, I'm not doing that. And she's like, please I can't
- 46:17do it myself which that's also like a heavy ask when you put it
- 46:21like that like to kill me. Yeah.
- 46:24Like he has to live with that guilt afterwards.
- 46:27Yeah. Like this is already a very
- 46:29traumatic night. Yeah.
- 46:31But he's like, no I'm Gonna Save you and then he opens the door
- 46:34and it's too late. She's sorry.
- 46:36A cellphone the gut, which fatal?
- 46:39Yeah. She's like, I Gotta Die before
- 46:40him. Yeah.
- 46:41Cause we gotta break the chain and then, of course, that breaks
- 46:44the chain. So, and then it cuts to this
- 46:48dramatic voiceover, we're in Pete attempts to explain
- 46:51everything, but just repeats, basically the same sentence. 10
- 46:54different times in slightly different ways.
- 46:56My favorite quote from this is okay, his takeaway is that the
- 47:00guy because he's Scottish. Yeah, exactly.
- 47:02And it's like, no, it's just you didn't kill anybody.
- 47:05Broke the chain. Movie can't follow its own.
- 47:08Internal logic. Is it?
- 47:09Because they broke the chain or because he's Scottish, he's
- 47:11likes. Why does it matter that?
- 47:12There's nine of them? Do the staff, not count.
- 47:15What is going on, okay? Yes, he has grabbed the book is
- 47:18out on the steps, he's smoking a cigarette, super dramatically.
- 47:21And like the voiceover says he's like, you didn't have the balls
- 47:25to take me. Oh my God.
- 47:26Is that really? Like you just think that you
- 47:28were so fucking cool. Like, you're so intimidating to
- 47:31this ghost to Marie that he wouldn't do this or do you think
- 47:35that you liked you so much because you're Scott, Oddish.
- 47:37Like it's just I don't understand his logic.
- 47:40It just does not jive with anything that we were just shown
- 47:45and then he takes the lighter and burns the book.
- 47:48Yeah. Oh also it has stopped snowing
- 47:52and it has started raining enough to melt away all the snow
- 47:56even though it was 70 some centimeters of snow, it's all
- 47:59melted now. Yeah.
- 48:01Which would cause like an amazing amount of flooding?
- 48:04I would probably imagined it would be Wayside hero side.
- 48:08Yeah, that's it. That's the movie.
- 48:10Yeah, it took us 30 minutes to cover that.
- 48:12Yeah. And it's just it's like a what
- 48:14the fuck thing like and we really described everything that
- 48:17happened there. Yeah, it's a thing, like, that's
- 48:19how it all plays out. Yeah.
- 48:21Except you get to watch an hour and 25 minutes of it.
- 48:26Of people just walking around saying stuff that ultimately has
- 48:30no meaning or purpose. Yeah, I'm annoyed.
- 48:34It's I'm not going to down to you too.
- 48:36Knocking it down to two, Okay? It makes less sense upon review.
- 48:42It makes absolutely no sense which look like a lot of times
- 48:46if you have a movie like this there is a lot of there's a good
- 48:50chance that you could have like a cult following because of how
- 48:53bad and stupid. It is, however, this movie
- 48:55manages to not, make it fun. Yeah.
- 48:59At all because it wants to be a serious movie.
- 49:01Yeah, it takes itself way too seriously.
- 49:03So yeah. You knocked it down to it, too.
- 49:12I'll keep it at three. Okay.
- 49:14Because, you know, fuck it. I'll just because of his the way
- 49:20his take away their you. I don't have the balls radom.
- 49:23The to I am doing it because of him.
- 49:29So, we went from a three to two point five average, okay.
- 49:33And I think we're both still on agreement that this would
- 49:35automatically get a five of Paris was doing a Scottish
- 49:38accent. Absolutely okay.
- 49:40II agree with that. If she was, I feel like this
- 49:43movie probably would have benefited from her being there
- 49:45more, they kill her off. So, early in the movie, She's
- 49:48Like, the biggest name in the cast.
- 49:51Yeah, I mean to be fair this is all like British and a Scottish
- 49:55guy. So maybe they're big over in
- 49:57their area but like I'm over here.
- 49:59Like at least. Oh, no.
- 50:01I think it would have been easier for us because that's at
- 50:03least one character that we can differentiate from the others.
- 50:07Yeah, that's true. Yeah, exactly.
- 50:10Okay. What was scouts favorite part?
- 50:13Scouts favorite part was when ever he got lost in the bathroom
- 50:21for 45 minutes. Nope.
- 50:23Obviously, her favorite part was that the guy had to eat his own
- 50:26eyeballs. She does like that sick.
- 50:32She's like, I like floppy eyelids.
- 50:36It's like, I love that imagery. Who did you relate to?
- 50:41I related to any one of the female characters because
- 50:43there's nothing to any of them. So I guess, generic female
- 50:47character over here. Yeah.
- 50:49You know what I'm gonna, I don't fucking know me.
- 50:55I don't know any of these guys so your generic The character,
- 50:59I'm generic male character, okay?
- 51:01Make me Scottish. I'm Scottish.
- 51:03Oh, you want to be the the final man.
- 51:06Yeah, I'm going to be the big boy.
- 51:08Okay, that's just should be the name for, like the last guy is,
- 51:10like, not a final girl. Girl, follow your big boys.
- 51:16Yeah. Okay.
- 51:17Okay, so we don't do. Do we do dream sequence for to
- 51:23be or not to be I don't want to speak with.
- 51:25I want a sequel for this word. Makes sense.
- 51:27We're like ten lives but it actually matters.
- 51:30Yes. Yeah let's remake this with like
- 51:33actual plot and characters and yeah I'm a director.
- 51:39What the director have another go at it?
- 51:40I'm assuming he's done more things since then let him let
- 51:44him direct. Yeah, somebody else, right?
- 51:46Yes, and then maybe because like I said before, like it feels
- 51:50like it could have been a We made film because they do a good
- 51:54job with like shooting in acting and everything.
- 51:57It's just like the writing the story.
- 52:00Like it was all just a mess. Okay.
- 52:03I have, I found a highly rated review.
- 52:09Do we do a review screen TV? Yeah, I think we did review.
- 52:12This internet reviews. They don't do listen to reviews.
- 52:15Okay. Yeah, we have an internet
- 52:17review, although Oh cool. Now talia's all the dogs are
- 52:22join in. Yep you know I actually hold on.
- 52:24I'm gonna pause this. Okay.
- 52:28Alright, we're back a couple of dogs from a house Streeter to
- 52:34over, got out. And we're in our neighborhood
- 52:37and setting all the other dogs off and Travis got them back
- 52:40home. Yeah, they are home safe.
- 52:41Who is it was a whole Adventure. Talia was losing her mind
- 52:44because Travis was putting strange dogs into his car.
- 52:48She loves cars. It was a whole thing.
- 52:50Yeah. And I was giving him all kinds
- 52:51of treats. Yeah, giving them her tree.
- 52:54It's okay for some in return for being distressed girl.
- 52:57Yeah. Okay.
- 52:59So anyway we're on to an IMDb review.
- 53:00I found somebody who absolutely loves this really, wow.
- 53:05Okay I think this one is actually a 7 out of 10.
- 53:07Okay, I'm not going to read the whole thing but still I sort of
- 53:15liked this. The castle itself is beautiful
- 53:17inside. Incredible set decorations.
- 53:19The cast are actually pretty talented.
- 53:21The guys were cute. It was beautifully atmospheric,
- 53:24the look of people when possessed totally black eyes was
- 53:26unsettling. Are a few nice jolts in the
- 53:29reason for the demon attacking was pretty unique.
- 53:34Okay, I mean I will say I wish that it was explored more about
- 53:42why? The reason the demon was
- 53:44attacking them in the first place because we didn't really
- 53:46good contacts for a long time. Yeah.
- 53:48And yeah, it was sure the guys were probably cute.
- 53:53I don't know. What about the gals?
- 53:54The gals were cute, too. I guess.
- 53:56Yeah. The one loose.
- 53:58She was really pretty. Yeah, so uh, you know, if that's
- 54:03what you want in a movie, then this movie's got it for you.
- 54:07So, you know, I can't dispute that.
- 54:09So then that's fine. Like, like, like I was saying
- 54:14before, like, it does, like, the movie looks nice.
- 54:16A lot of times, it's just man like the story for me wax.
- 54:21Yeah, I wish that they had taken full advantage of the mystery
- 54:24aspect of the friendship. Six of the large group setting
- 54:30inside of a large Castle. I think it could have been.
- 54:35It's we've seen it done before and done better, and I think
- 54:40that's kind of goes against this movie.
- 54:42You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 54:43I feel like, like, this movie had potential to be the most
- 54:46Jesse movie ever. Yeah.
- 54:48And it just didn't live up to her, so I'm thinking, you know,
- 54:53but if you like it I don't hold that against you.
- 54:56I can see it being somebody. Sting.
- 54:58Yeah, it's just not for us. So I guess Jesse to be or not to
- 55:05be. Would you recommend this to
- 55:07other people then? Well, I always say watch a
- 55:10movie, make your own decision. But if you came to me personally
- 55:14for recommendations, it wouldn't be at the top of my list.
- 55:18And what I watch it again. No, I wouldn't either.
- 55:22So, this is unfortunately, a not to be yes, this is a one and
- 55:26done. Yeah.
- 55:27That means This is kind of again, maybe it, maybe it would
- 55:30be your thing if you're listening.
- 55:32And you're curious, always take a chance, form your own
- 55:35opinions, but for us this this didn't hit the mark for either
- 55:38of us. Yeah, there's I mean we've
- 55:41that's just pretty much it. That's all that can be said.
- 55:44However, we're getting ready to record this week's main episode.
- 55:49Hmm which is very much for me. I'm very excited.
