- 0:03Speaker 1: Thank ye oh sure it's bye. It's hello Alone, Hello
- 0:14Speaker 1: and Low. Welcome to the Not Even Eye Show. I'm
- 0:16Speaker 1: your host from Shooter and it is Monday morning. I
- 0:19Speaker 1: hope you had a lovely weekend. It's snowing in New York,
- 0:22Speaker 1: so I had a really lovely weekend. I wish I
- 0:25Speaker 1: wish it's stuck a little bit more. Now. I realize
- 0:27Speaker 1: if you're listening to this podcast from somewhere where you're
- 0:30Speaker 1: snowed in, that's the last thing you're going to want
- 0:32Speaker 1: to hear. So I apologize for that. But I wanted
- 0:35Speaker 1: to go outside and build a snowman and from Frozen,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I love that song. Do you want to build a
- 0:40Speaker 1: snow man? Yes? I did this weekend, but unfortunately not
- 0:44Speaker 1: enough snow for me. However, I do understand if you
- 0:47Speaker 1: are snowed in today, we are thinking about you. Hopefully
- 0:50Speaker 1: the next twenty minutes or so we can take your
- 0:52Speaker 1: mind off the weather and just enjoy some celebrity gossip.
- 0:56Speaker 1: And now, normally on Monday mornings, my friend Garrett joins
- 0:59Speaker 1: us from Z one one hundred. He's not here today
- 1:01Speaker 1: and it's not his fault. I have to take full
- 1:03Speaker 1: responsibility because of the Golden Globes last night? Did you
- 1:06Speaker 1: love them? They're back. That's such a fun time watching
- 1:09Speaker 1: the Golden Globes. But because of that award show last night,
- 1:13Speaker 1: and we're running around all Monday morning doing publicity and
- 1:17Speaker 1: prayers and talking about the Globes, so I just couldn't
- 1:20Speaker 1: find an opportunity for Garrett and I to get together
- 1:23Speaker 1: to take the show. So hence it's a solo show today.
- 1:26Speaker 1: But is it really ever a solo show? Nough to ease, No,
- 1:29Speaker 1: because I have you. It's so nice to know you
- 1:32Speaker 1: are there sitting next to me as we go on
- 1:35Speaker 1: a drive or maybe as we go on a walk together.
- 1:38Speaker 1: We are friends and so we are not alone. Okay,
- 1:42Speaker 1: let's jump into the show. What time is it, my friends?
- 1:44Speaker 1: It is tea time. Big story at the top of
- 1:47Speaker 1: the show, Taylor Swifts team is really upset over a
- 1:52Speaker 1: inappropriate New York Times op ed speculating about her sexuality.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Let me explain. So, Taylor's camp is fuming that The
- 2:01Speaker 1: New York Times published an op ed an opinion piece
- 2:05Speaker 1: speculating about the Grammy winner's sexuality. A source told CNN quote,
- 2:11Speaker 1: there seems to be no boundaries some journalists won't cross
- 2:15Speaker 1: when writing about Taylor, regardless of how invasive, untrue, and inappropriate.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It is all under the protective veil of an opinion piecer,
- 2:25Speaker 1: because it's an opinion. They are not reporting this to
- 2:29Speaker 1: The New York Times. They are just given their opinion here.
- 2:31Speaker 1: So often in the world of celebrity gossip, but even
- 2:34Speaker 1: in the world of the New York Times, you can
- 2:36Speaker 1: give your opinion. There's nothing wrong with that. Now, if
- 2:38Speaker 1: you state something as a fact it's not true, you
- 2:41Speaker 1: can be sued for defamation. So they're not saying Taylor's gay,
- 2:45Speaker 1: They're not saying she's queer. They are speculating about her
- 2:48Speaker 1: sexuality in an opinion piece. That's the keyword. The Insider
- 2:53Speaker 1: emphasized that the New York Times op edd which purports
- 2:57Speaker 1: that Taylor has been dropping hints about being throughout her career,
- 3:01Speaker 1: would never ever have been allowed to be written about
- 3:05Speaker 1: someone like Shawn Mendess or a male artist whose sexuality
- 3:09Speaker 1: has been questioned by by fans. So that's a really
- 3:11Speaker 1: interesting point here. Sources are saying that because Taylor is
- 3:15Speaker 1: a woman, they'll get away with this. They would never
- 3:18Speaker 1: do this to a man. They will never speculate about
- 3:21Speaker 1: a man's sexuality. There might be some truth to that. Now.
- 3:25Speaker 1: The lengthy op ed is pretty long, I read it
- 3:28Speaker 1: compiles a laundry list of what the writer labels quote
- 3:33Speaker 1: evidence evidence that allegedly proves that the singer is a
- 3:38Speaker 1: member of the LGBTQIA plus community. They suggest that quote
- 3:45Speaker 1: dropping hairpins is a slang term for letting other people
- 3:49Speaker 1: know they are queer. I did not know that. As
- 3:52Speaker 1: a gay man, I did not know that, but thanks
- 3:54Speaker 1: to the New York Times, now I do. Apparently so.
- 3:58Speaker 1: In isolation, a singlepin is perhaps meaningless, they report, or
- 4:03Speaker 1: even accidental, But considered together, they are the unfurling of
- 4:08Speaker 1: a Ballerina Bunn after a long performance. Very poetic. But
- 4:13Speaker 1: I don't know exactly what that means. I don't know
- 4:15Speaker 1: what the writer is getting to now. Taylor herself has
- 4:18Speaker 1: proclaimed herself an an alloy of the LGBTQ community in
- 4:24Speaker 1: the past, recently slamming speculation about her sexuality with the
- 4:29Speaker 1: re release of her nineteen eighty nine album The Songstress
- 4:34Speaker 1: who is Happily Happily Dating Travis Kelcey explained that she
- 4:40Speaker 1: swore off hanging out with guys and decided to focus
- 4:43Speaker 1: on herself, her music growth, and her female friendship. So
- 4:48Speaker 1: she really went out of her way to focus on
- 4:50Speaker 1: her female friends. She wants to empower women. She loves
- 4:53Speaker 1: her girl squad because of that, or partly because of that.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Now these stories are coming out that she in fact
- 5:00Speaker 1: is gay. And let's also be very clear here, Taylor
- 5:03Speaker 1: herself has denied being queer as recently as September twenty nineteen,
- 5:09Speaker 1: in a Vogue interviewer, telling the magazine at the time, quote,
- 5:13Speaker 1: rights are being stripped away from basically anyone who isn't straight, white,
- 5:17Speaker 1: or male. I didn't realize until recently that I could
- 5:20Speaker 1: advocate for a community that I'm not part of. You
- 5:24Speaker 1: can you can be an ally to the gay, lesbian,
- 5:27Speaker 1: bisexual community, trans community. You don't have to be queer
- 5:32Speaker 1: to be an ally of that community. What do you
- 5:35Speaker 1: think about this? The New York Times. If this was
- 5:38Speaker 1: a silly gossip site, if this was some you know,
- 5:41Speaker 1: really trashy type celebrity gossip blogger, you know who I'm
- 5:45Speaker 1: talking about. It's not me. I never do this, but
- 5:47Speaker 1: if you know who, you know who I need. Okay,
- 5:49Speaker 1: don't get me in trouble. Noughties. You know, I want
- 5:51Speaker 1: to say the name. I'm not gonna say it. But
- 5:54Speaker 1: if you were that person, let's just put it like that,
- 5:57Speaker 1: then I would expect you to traffic in this sort
- 6:01Speaker 1: of trash. But the New York Times to write an
- 6:04Speaker 1: op ed on Taylor Swift and their sexuality, it feels
- 6:07Speaker 1: a little below the Times. Now. One of my friends
- 6:10Speaker 1: an academic, a gay academic. He thought that this was homophobic.
- 6:14Speaker 1: He thought, so what, It's only insulting if you think
- 6:18Speaker 1: being queer, if you think being gay is a derogatory thing.
- 6:21Speaker 1: If it's not, then congratulations. Maybe this is a compliment.
- 6:25Speaker 1: How do you see this? Do you see this as
- 6:27Speaker 1: an insult? Do you see it as a compliment? It
- 6:30Speaker 1: was in the New York Times. People are not happy
- 6:33Speaker 1: about it, not happy, and they are pushing back saying
- 6:35Speaker 1: this would never ever have been done for a man,
- 6:38Speaker 1: but because she's a woman, it's okay to say this
- 6:42Speaker 1: about Taylor. Once again, very clever for the Times to
- 6:45Speaker 1: put it in an op ed, because that makes them
- 6:47Speaker 1: legally much more on sure footing. But what do you
- 6:51Speaker 1: think about this one? Taylor Swift's team is upset about
- 6:54Speaker 1: the quote inappropriate. New York Times op ed speculating about
- 6:59Speaker 1: her sexuality. What do you think? Is this a good
- 7:01Speaker 1: thing or is it a bad thing? Speculating about somebody
- 7:04Speaker 1: being gay? Is there a compliment or is it an insult?
- 7:08Speaker 1: It's very tricky here, isn't it? Because initially I was like,
- 7:11Speaker 1: leave Taylor alone. I'm against outing people. I don't out anybody.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I know a few celebrities who are still in the
- 7:18Speaker 1: closet and it's not my business to out them. What
- 7:20Speaker 1: they do in their bedroom is entirely, entirely up to
- 7:23Speaker 1: then none of my business. But other friends of mine
- 7:25Speaker 1: would say being queer is far more than just what
- 7:28Speaker 1: you do in bed. It's a way of life. It's
- 7:31Speaker 1: a lifestyle, so how you hold yourself. And Taylor very
- 7:35Speaker 1: much has tapped into that community. So it's more tricky
- 7:39Speaker 1: than initially meets the eye. What do you think? Is
- 7:41Speaker 1: this a compliment or an insult? Hey? Go vote on
- 7:44Speaker 1: our Twitter page at Naughty Nice rob a Facebook page
- 7:47Speaker 1: Naughty Yossip, and be sure to check back tomorrow to
- 7:50Speaker 1: hear your results. Okay, talking about getting into trouble or
- 7:54Speaker 1: Jodey Foster Silence of the Lambs faces backlash for calling
- 8:00Speaker 1: z quote really annoying. Ouch, So, Jenny Foster is apparently
- 8:05Speaker 1: not a big fan of Generation Z. The Oscar winner
- 8:09Speaker 1: admitted that working with young actors. Younger actors is sometimes
- 8:12Speaker 1: quote frustrating. She told The Guardian, quote they're really annoying,
- 8:17Speaker 1: especially in the workplace. They're like, Nah, I'm not feeling
- 8:22Speaker 1: it today, I'm not going to come in until ten thirty,
- 8:26Speaker 1: or in emails I'll tell them this is all grammatically incorrect.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Did you not check your spelling? And they're like, why
- 8:35Speaker 1: would I do that? Isn't that kind of limiting? Oh? So, Foster,
- 8:41Speaker 1: who is familiar with gen Z because she has two
- 8:44Speaker 1: sons of her own who are in their twenties, believes
- 8:47Speaker 1: that she can actually help young people in the industry.
- 8:49Speaker 1: So So Jenny Foster has spent a lot of hours
- 8:52Speaker 1: reaching out to young actresses because she grew up as
- 8:55Speaker 1: a young actress, so she knows what it's like and
- 8:57Speaker 1: she wants to put them at ease, and she wants
- 8:59Speaker 1: to pass on so of her wisdom. But at the
- 9:01Speaker 1: same time, she said that Generation Z can be really annoying.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I'm sure the baby boomers are annoying to Generations Z,
- 9:09Speaker 1: so we can all be annoying to one another. I
- 9:11Speaker 1: try to think of people as individuals, not in these categories,
- 9:15Speaker 1: and some people are annoying and some people are not.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I can be a bit annoying. I'm not Generation Z,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and so it's interesting here. What do you think It's
- 9:23Speaker 1: so easy, isn't it to look down your nose at
- 9:26Speaker 1: younger people and be like, oh, we didn't behave like that.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I think we did. I know. I don't want to
- 9:31Speaker 1: turn into my mom and dad where they're like, oh,
- 9:34Speaker 1: you youngsters are so lazy. No, it's just a different
- 9:37Speaker 1: way of doing things. I have a lot of young
- 9:40Speaker 1: people that work for me, work around me, are fantastic.
- 9:43Speaker 1: They just do things in a different way. The work,
- 9:46Speaker 1: I've got to admit, is really good, maybe better than
- 9:49Speaker 1: the work I do, except they do it in a
- 9:51Speaker 1: different way, and I respect that. At the end of
- 9:54Speaker 1: the day, as long as the work gets done, does
- 9:57Speaker 1: it matter how you do it. I think Generation ZE
- 10:01Speaker 1: have a different attitude to work, and it might be
- 10:04Speaker 1: healthy my generation. Once again here, I don't want to
- 10:08Speaker 1: make generalizations, but I am we really had this work ethic,
- 10:12Speaker 1: We really had this work ethic sort of drilled into
- 10:14Speaker 1: us that we had to work all the time, work work.
- 10:17Speaker 1: My brother Douglas, all he does is work, work, where work,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and I was a little bit like that too, And
- 10:22Speaker 1: I think my personal life suffered, my friendships suffered, my
- 10:26Speaker 1: personal relationships suffered because I put work as a priority.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Generation Z does not do that, and I think we
- 10:32Speaker 1: have to tip perhaps to that generation. Maybe they got
- 10:35Speaker 1: it right and we got it wrong. What do you
- 10:38Speaker 1: think or are you with Jodie Foster here? Do you
- 10:40Speaker 1: find gen Z? If you're listening gen Z? I know
- 10:43Speaker 1: we have a whole range of listeners on the Naughty
- 10:46Speaker 1: but Nice podcast for now over sixty countries. I got
- 10:49Speaker 1: the numbers at the top of the year from iHeart
- 10:52Speaker 1: the Breakdown. We're in over sixty different countries listening to
- 10:56Speaker 1: this show or a top twenty podcast, So thank you
- 10:59Speaker 1: for that. And demographics, it's wild. We have teenagers to
- 11:03Speaker 1: great grandmas listening. So if you are gen Z, let
- 11:07Speaker 1: me know how you think. Do you find baby boomers annoying?
- 11:11Speaker 1: And baby boomers? What do you think? Do you find
- 11:14Speaker 1: gen Z annoying? Or should we all just get on
- 11:17Speaker 1: with it? We're all in this together, okay, moving along?
- 11:20Speaker 1: Kelly Clarkson is saying that she has banned her kids
- 11:23Speaker 1: from using social media until they reach eighteen. Quote not
- 11:27Speaker 1: under my roof. So Kelly Clarkson has a strict no
- 11:30Speaker 1: social media rule for her children until they are eighteen.
- 11:34Speaker 1: She told people, quote social media can be really hard
- 11:37Speaker 1: on kids in general, but especially kids with parents in
- 11:41Speaker 1: the public eye. Ah, that makes sense. Kelly is a
- 11:44Speaker 1: huge star, and can you imagine how cruel social media
- 11:48Speaker 1: can be to all of us. Imagine what it would
- 11:50Speaker 1: be like if your mom was Kelly Clarkson, if your
- 11:53Speaker 1: mom was a star. That's a good point, so she added,
- 11:56Speaker 1: quote I have informed them that they're not allowed to
- 11:59Speaker 1: use it, not under my roof. That's it, period. Now.
- 12:03Speaker 1: She did say that she shares her daughter and her
- 12:06Speaker 1: son with her ex husband, Brendan, and explains that enforcing
- 12:10Speaker 1: the rules for the children has its own challenges, particularly
- 12:15Speaker 1: that the children live with both their mom and dad.
- 12:17Speaker 1: She said, it's hard enough when you're married and you
- 12:20Speaker 1: come from two different backgrounds and ways to discipline and educate.
- 12:24Speaker 1: It just so different. Doing it in different households can
- 12:27Speaker 1: be really tough. She said that her daughter was like, quote, well,
- 12:32Speaker 1: what if dad lets me and Kelly responded, well, you're
- 12:36Speaker 1: therefore days a week, so enjoy that. But right now
- 12:40Speaker 1: he's not letting them do it either, So that daughter,
- 12:43Speaker 1: I love it. I love it, River Rose, nine years old.
- 12:47Speaker 1: She said he's not leonon you do it, and she
- 12:49Speaker 1: said listen. When you're older maybe, or when you have
- 12:53Speaker 1: a solid argument. Come up with the solid argument. Kids,
- 12:56Speaker 1: if you're listening, galowa la'a loa loa ah. I sort
- 12:59Speaker 1: of liked this. Yes, I don't know. I like social media.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I don't love it, but I also to have really
- 13:05Speaker 1: strict rules. I don't scroll for hours. I don't look
- 13:08Speaker 1: at people's posts that upset me. I don't look at
- 13:11Speaker 1: social media to make myself feel like a loser. Because
- 13:14Speaker 1: all of that stuff's true, it's partially true. If you
- 13:17Speaker 1: look at my social media, my life looks fabulous and
- 13:20Speaker 1: I have a good life, but it's not quite as
- 13:22Speaker 1: fabulous as my social media, and the same is true
- 13:25Speaker 1: with everybody else. Maybe you two, so stop scrolling through
- 13:28Speaker 1: everybody else's lives and live your own. I'm with Kelly
- 13:33Speaker 1: on this one, Okay, quickly before we go to break
- 13:37Speaker 1: Share has temporarily at least been denied conservatorship of a son, Elijah,
- 13:43Speaker 1: who appeared in court despite the claims that he is missing.
- 13:47Speaker 1: So Shares request to control her son, Elijah blues the
- 13:51Speaker 1: state have been temporarily denied. A Los Angeles Superior Court
- 13:56Speaker 1: judge rejected the pop icons conservativeship petition. So the judge
- 14:02Speaker 1: was not persuaded to appoint Share as a temporary conservatorship
- 14:06Speaker 1: because her attorneys gave her son at best less than
- 14:09Speaker 1: twenty four hours notice and refuse to share confidential information
- 14:13Speaker 1: with them about the case. Now the judge has set
- 14:15Speaker 1: a new hearing for January twenty nine and ordered Shares
- 14:19Speaker 1: lawyers to turn over all that confidential information. So despite
- 14:24Speaker 1: the fact that the Grammy winner claims that her son
- 14:27Speaker 1: had gone missing, he did show up for the brief
- 14:29Speaker 1: hearing with his wife, whom they broke up, but now
- 14:33Speaker 1: they are back together. So Chaer said that she wanted
- 14:36Speaker 1: to take over her son's financing. She claims that he
- 14:39Speaker 1: earns about one hundred and twenty thousand dollars a year.
- 14:41Speaker 1: He gets that from a trust established by his dad,
- 14:44Speaker 1: so it's not Shares money. He gets one hundred and
- 14:46Speaker 1: twenty thousand dollars a year from his dad's trust. She
- 14:50Speaker 1: claims he's going to spend all that on drugs and
- 14:53Speaker 1: if she doesn't take over, he will be penny less.
- 14:56Speaker 1: She'll be the one that has to pay all the bills.
- 14:58Speaker 1: But as we know from Britney Spears, conservatorships have changed,
- 15:03Speaker 1: Thank goodness, Brittany was under a conservatorship for thirteen years.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Thirteen years, So what do you think about this here?
- 15:11Speaker 1: It's complicated, isn't it the cheer turning into Britney Spears?
- 15:16Speaker 1: Pot two? What's going on here? Is she turning into
- 15:18Speaker 1: Britney's dad or does she have a really good point
- 15:22Speaker 1: to make? While you think about that, we're going to
- 15:24Speaker 1: take a quick break and we'll be right back. Well,
- 15:27Speaker 1: welcome back to the Naughty but Nishow and Rob Shooter. Hey,
- 15:30Speaker 1: let's get through the polls oh La show. We talked
- 15:32Speaker 1: about Britney Spears, who said she's never ever going to
- 15:35Speaker 1: return to the music business ever again, despite the fact
- 15:37Speaker 1: that her people behind her back had been reaching out
- 15:41Speaker 1: to songwriters. In fact, Corey had a bombshell our own
- 15:43Speaker 1: Corey Andrew on Friday he had been reached out to
- 15:47Speaker 1: by a German music producer about writing new tracks for Britney.
- 15:53Speaker 1: So we know her team were looking for new music,
- 15:55Speaker 1: and she said she did not tell them to do that.
- 15:58Speaker 1: They did that behind her back. No intention of ever
- 16:01Speaker 1: recording a game. She's sick of the music business. What
- 16:04Speaker 1: it did to her was a disgrace. She does not
- 16:06Speaker 1: want to get back in that. So should she fire
- 16:08Speaker 1: a team? These people work for Brittany, they're making money
- 16:12Speaker 1: from Brittany. If you're the boss and you go rogue
- 16:15Speaker 1: and you start doing stuff and not tell them, or
- 16:17Speaker 1: stuff behind their back, or worse, stuff that they just
- 16:19Speaker 1: don't want, should you be fired? That was our question.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Should Britney fire her team? Let's have a lock? Oh
- 16:25Speaker 1: eighty percent said yes. I agree, Brittany. If they don't
- 16:28Speaker 1: want what you want, get rid of them. They represent you.
- 16:30Speaker 1: You're the boss here and I'm not saying whether or
- 16:33Speaker 1: not recording new music is a good or bad thing.
- 16:36Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. You don't want to do it. You're
- 16:38Speaker 1: the boss. They work for you, they make money from you.
- 16:42Speaker 1: You pay them. If they're not looking after your interests, Brittany,
- 16:45Speaker 1: then fire them. Okay, don't forget to vote on today's pole,
- 16:49Speaker 1: get our Twitter page at Naughty kniserrob at Facebook page
- 16:51Speaker 1: and audizib I'm sure to check back to Marau to
- 16:54Speaker 1: hear your results. Now it's done. For her nicest of
- 16:58Speaker 1: the day more Selena Gomeza, it's that she misses her bff,
- 17:03Speaker 1: Nicole Beckham. On So, Nicole and Selena were b f
- 17:09Speaker 1: f's and they they've sort of grown a little bit
- 17:11Speaker 1: of pace and Nicole now is married to Victoria Beckham's sons.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Selena Games is in a new relationship with Denney Blanco.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Very cute. Those twos. They've sort of drifted apart a bit,
- 17:20Speaker 1: but on Friday, she posted a throwback picture of the
- 17:22Speaker 1: two of them and a simple caption. It said, miss you.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Oh you know what, Sometimes when you screw through your
- 17:29Speaker 1: phone or an old picture pops up on Facebook, it
- 17:32Speaker 1: doesn't make you remember good friends. But when you miss them,
- 17:37Speaker 1: instead of posting it on social media, call them, text them.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I try to do that at least three times a week.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I go through my phone when I'm in the back
- 17:44Speaker 1: of a taxi or on a subway, and I find
- 17:47Speaker 1: three names. I start at A, and then tomorrow I'll
- 17:49Speaker 1: go to B and then C. And I picked two
- 17:51Speaker 1: or three people out of each category, and I text
- 17:54Speaker 1: them hello, whim spoke for a while and it's just
