- 0:00Speaker 1: It's the Mark Simone Show, Live from the wor Life
- 0:04Speaker 1: Back Studios. Well, hey, if you're just joining us, you
- 0:09Speaker 1: missed the first hour. It's nine to noon every day,
- 0:12Speaker 1: nine to noon, three hour, three hours. There are nine
- 0:15Speaker 1: to noon every day, and we got a lot to
- 0:19Speaker 1: get to. This hour. We're talking about the Straight of
- 0:20Speaker 1: hor Moose before President saying it's now totally demned. As
- 0:26Speaker 1: I've mentioned before, the Straight of horn Moose is open.
- 0:30Speaker 1: It has been opened all along, maybe half open. Nine
- 0:34Speaker 1: million barrels a day are coming through. Normally it's twenty
- 0:37Speaker 1: but nine million barrels are coming through, and the President
- 0:41Speaker 1: pointing out they've totally demined it. There are no more
- 0:44Speaker 1: mines in the water. They got these ships and all
- 0:47Speaker 1: sorts of underwater drones and technology that can find them.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Apparently they've gotten them all out. So nine million barrels
- 0:54Speaker 1: a day, that'll probably increase to twelve to fifteen million
- 0:58Speaker 1: barrels a day. And that's the one reason, the fact
- 1:01Speaker 1: that it's been open and oil has been coming through
- 1:04Speaker 1: half the usual a month. But that's the reason the
- 1:06Speaker 1: price of oil has not spiked. It's up a little,
- 1:09Speaker 1: but it hasn't spiked. Now you got to remember, whatever
- 1:13Speaker 1: the president does, he's going to get attacked for it.
- 1:16Speaker 1: The fake news, the Trump haters, they will attack him
- 1:20Speaker 1: whatever he does. Doesn't matter what he does. Now, there's
- 1:23Speaker 1: a good side to that. If you're president Trump means
- 1:26Speaker 1: you can do whatever the hell you want. You don't
- 1:27Speaker 1: have to worry about it. No, every other president had
- 1:29Speaker 1: to worry, Oh, if I do this, I'll attack me.
- 1:32Speaker 1: If I do that, I'll get bad press. He doesn't
- 1:34Speaker 1: have to worry about it. It's gonna get bad press
- 1:35Speaker 1: no matter what he does. So he's decided to reduce
- 1:38Speaker 1: the number of troops we have in Korea. We have
- 1:42Speaker 1: a pretty good relationship with North Korea with a little
- 1:44Speaker 1: lunatic there. And remember that guy's got nuclear weapons. He
- 1:48Speaker 1: actually possesses them. But President Trump has charmed him, and
- 1:52Speaker 1: believe it or not, Kim Jong un has behaved himself,
- 1:55Speaker 1: at least with the US. So we don't have to worry.
- 1:58Speaker 1: So we keep true. Since South Korea a lot of troops,
- 2:02Speaker 1: and the president decided it's so many troops, we could
- 2:05Speaker 1: reduce that, and he's reducing it a little. That makes sense.
- 2:10Speaker 1: But the attacks begin. They're coming after him. They're attacking
- 2:15Speaker 1: him for reducing the troops in South Korea.
- 2:18Speaker 2: While we take our foot off the gas for this
- 2:21Speaker 2: particular exercise, potentially reducing readiness, reducing the conventional deterrence effect.
- 2:27Speaker 2: North Korea continues on their happy way, strengthening their military.
- 2:31Speaker 1: That's it. They're attacking him for reducing the troops. Now,
- 2:34Speaker 1: let's just say last week he announced he's increasing the
- 2:37Speaker 1: troops there. This same guy would have been attacking him.
- 2:41Speaker 1: It would have denounced it every day. All would have
- 2:44Speaker 1: announced wise he increasing troops there. So it doesn't matter
- 2:47Speaker 1: what he does. Take building the ballroom. Who could get
- 2:52Speaker 1: mad about this? Even if you hate the guy, you
- 2:57Speaker 1: got to admit the one thing he's good at is billuilding.
- 3:00Speaker 1: That's his main talent. He's a great builder. He builds
- 3:03Speaker 1: spectacular things. Look around New York. Look at that building
- 3:08Speaker 1: in Columbus Circle. Look at all the buildings along the
- 3:10Speaker 1: West Side Highway, look at Trump Tower. Everything he builds,
- 3:15Speaker 1: it's magnificent. He built the greatest hotel in Washington, d C.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It's now the Waldorf, but it was his hotel for years.
- 3:21Speaker 1: But he builds spectacular things. So as long as you
- 3:24Speaker 1: got this guy in the White House, let him build stuff.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I mean, I don't like the Oval office with the
- 3:29Speaker 1: gold and the glitz. It's a little too much in there.
- 3:32Speaker 1: But let him build stuff. Let's say Trump came into
- 3:38Speaker 1: your house. Let's say invite him to stay at your house,
- 3:40Speaker 1: and he never left. He's staying too long. He's there
- 3:43Speaker 1: for months and months. But while he's there, he built
- 3:47Speaker 1: a beautiful addition onto your house. He built you a
- 3:49Speaker 1: whole new kitchen, He built you a whole new this
- 3:53Speaker 1: so that he built you a swimming pool. You'd be
- 3:55Speaker 1: thrilled with the guy. So the ballroom will be the
- 3:59Speaker 1: most magnificent ballroom in Washington, DC. Anytime they have a
- 4:03Speaker 1: big state dinner, I mean a really big event in
- 4:07Speaker 1: the White House, they can't do it in the East
- 4:09Speaker 1: Room because these room only holds like one hundred and
- 4:10Speaker 1: twenty people, not even that much. So big state dinner,
- 4:15Speaker 1: foreign leader, they got to go out in the lawn
- 4:16Speaker 1: and put up a tent. That's what we're doing all
- 4:19Speaker 1: these years, in a tent. You know, these European leaders
- 4:23Speaker 1: and the President of France or the King of England,
- 4:26Speaker 1: they're used to the most palatial rooms. They're not used
- 4:29Speaker 1: to sitting in a tent on a lawn like they're
- 4:33Speaker 1: at a bar mitzvah in Great Neck. I mean, it
- 4:37Speaker 1: doesn't work. So he's building the most magnificent ballroom, and
- 4:41Speaker 1: sure enough to get mad at him. They're furious, how
- 4:44Speaker 1: dare you build a magnificent ballroom? Not only that he decides,
- 4:48Speaker 1: they're giving him so much flak about the ballroom, they'll
- 4:50Speaker 1: also make it very very useful military stuff. They'll put
- 4:54Speaker 1: a new state of the art situation room underneath. On
- 4:58Speaker 1: the roof, they'll put a drone, like an airport for drones.
- 5:02Speaker 1: It's amazing what they got militarily going on there. So
- 5:06Speaker 1: it's magnificent. Who could complain about this? But the fake
- 5:09Speaker 1: news everybody, they're furious, they're fuming, how Darry builds something
- 5:13Speaker 1: magnificent at the White House. Here in the courts keepers
- 5:18Speaker 1: stopping the ballroom, slowing the ballroom down.
- 5:20Speaker 3: The people that are opposing the ballroom are people that,
- 5:24Speaker 3: in my opinion, are very disloyal to our country, very
- 5:27Speaker 3: very disloyal to our country. And I think we're doing
- 5:31Speaker 3: very well. We're way ahead of schedule.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you could make that case that I understand you
- 5:36Speaker 1: hate Trump. You're a big Trump hater. But if you're
- 5:38Speaker 1: putting that over the welfare of the country or the
- 5:41Speaker 1: White House, yeah, I guess you're I guess you're kind
- 5:45Speaker 1: of a trumpeter. Now you know this battleship the Lincoln,
- 5:50Speaker 1: this aircraft carrier of the Lincoln. It's been out at
- 5:52Speaker 1: sea too long. It's been out there two hundred days.
- 5:55Speaker 1: People are jumping overboard. Well, it turns us one guy
- 5:59Speaker 1: to jumped overboard, and fake news making a big deal
- 6:03Speaker 1: out of this, why they're committing suicide they're jumping overboard. Well,
- 6:07Speaker 1: first of all, if you check into this, every one
- 6:10Speaker 1: of these aircraft carriers always has somebody jumping overboard. And
- 6:14Speaker 1: it's not a suicide attempt. Apparently, it's like a clinger
- 6:19Speaker 1: in mash and they're trying to get sent home. If
- 6:22Speaker 1: you jump overboard, they'll think you're crazy and send you home.
- 6:24Speaker 1: So that's why some people do it. If you jump overboard,
- 6:27Speaker 1: you'll be quickly rescued, by the way, But the idea
- 6:30Speaker 1: of jumping overboard is they'll send you home. So it
- 6:32Speaker 1: goes down all the time. It has been out at
- 6:34Speaker 1: see a very long time. But but if you talk
- 6:38Speaker 1: to people there, it's fine. Here's the fake news. Why
- 6:42Speaker 1: they are unable to get fresh food, fresh food. It's
- 6:47Speaker 1: an aircraft carrier, it's military food. They're never you could
- 6:51Speaker 1: never leave port and you wouldn't get fresh food. It's
- 6:53Speaker 1: a military kitchen. But they have plenty of food out there.
- 6:57Speaker 1: They can stay out there forever. It's pretty reassureed know
- 7:00Speaker 1: they can stay out there for two hundred days if
- 7:02Speaker 1: they need to. Here's President Trump on the on this
- 7:05Speaker 1: US Lincoln.
- 7:06Speaker 3: It was at a big group and he happened to
- 7:07Speaker 3: be an admiral retired. He said, I've been on ships
- 7:10Speaker 3: are out there much longer than that's there. And I
- 7:13Speaker 3: know people on the Lincoln. They say it's beautifully maintained
- 7:16Speaker 3: and beautifully taken care of. And other people went out
- 7:19Speaker 3: and they found out to be true. It was fake
- 7:21Speaker 3: news reporting from CNN.
- 7:23Speaker 1: It's a lot of fake news. They make up these
- 7:25Speaker 1: whole things. They could you know, all of a sudden,
- 7:27Speaker 1: whatever he did or whatever's happening is it's a disaster,
- 7:31Speaker 1: it's wrong. It's then you find out it's been happening
- 7:33Speaker 1: every day for a million years. Here's the General Jack Kean.
- 7:36Speaker 4: I've never seen such misrepresentation in the media of the
- 7:41Speaker 4: actual facts that took place. A soldier fell overboard and
- 7:45Speaker 4: was rescued. They were claiming that multiple soldiers were committing suicide,
- 7:50Speaker 4: not not soldiers, sailers. I don't want to insult the
- 7:52Speaker 4: sailors by calling them soldiers, but the reality is the
- 7:58Speaker 4: misrepresentation is really have been quite significant.
- 8:02Speaker 1: But it's a big problem. You know, a lot of
- 8:05Speaker 1: people a run around this fake news. They think the
- 8:07Speaker 1: economy is a disaster, that this ship is terrible, everybody's
- 8:12Speaker 1: killing them. I mean, all of this is false, but
- 8:15Speaker 1: they just drill this into people's heads. Hey, we're talking
- 8:17Speaker 1: about Jared Kushner before and now listen to this. The
- 8:20Speaker 1: hell are these two thinking? Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump
- 8:24Speaker 1: are now shopping for a home in Malibu. Yeah, they
- 8:31Speaker 1: live in New York and they also have a beautiful
- 8:34Speaker 1: home in Miami, and they're now looking for a house
- 8:38Speaker 1: in Malibu. Okay, New York, that's fine. Trump's are a
- 8:41Speaker 1: big part of New York, Miami. Trump's are loved in Florida. Malibu. Ooh,
- 8:47Speaker 1: they're not going to like you in Malibu. And first
- 8:49Speaker 1: of all, everybody in Malibu, these are all Hollywood people.
- 8:52Speaker 1: These are all media. They're not gonna like you in Malibu.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And why do they want a home in Malibu. They're
- 8:58Speaker 1: in Miami. They need Malibu for it, says the first
- 9:03Speaker 1: daughter and son in law were eyeing high end listings
- 9:06Speaker 1: in the air. They were seen dining at Nobu Noboo
- 9:10Speaker 1: everybody and Nobo hates you. The people that own know
- 9:14Speaker 1: who hate you, They hate that, they hate anything Trump.
- 9:17Speaker 1: They're the most trumped arrangement syndrome group in the world.
- 9:22Speaker 1: The same week, Kushner's brother, Joshua Kushner, he's the guy
- 9:27Speaker 1: who with Bob Iger bought the Lakers. So they say,
- 9:32Speaker 1: prepare to see they call him Javanka. Jared and Ivanka
- 9:36Speaker 1: prepare to see Javanka at the Lakers games a lot
- 9:41Speaker 1: and stay tuned for them to buy a big house
- 9:44Speaker 1: in Malibu. And I don't know what they're thinking now.
- 9:46Speaker 1: He's at some point they're going to leave politics and
- 9:50Speaker 1: the White House and the Middle East stuff, And is
- 9:54Speaker 1: that what he's thinking. His next move will be California.
- 9:56Speaker 1: His brother buying a piece of the buying the Lakers.
- 10:00Speaker 1: He's moving and getting the house in Malbury. They're looking
- 10:02Speaker 1: to take over something California, Hollywood realm. Now, it could be.
- 10:06Speaker 1: You know, these guys, especially guys like that, they're in
- 10:09Speaker 1: the building business, real estate, skyscrapers. They plot, They're like
- 10:14Speaker 1: the Chinese leaders. They plot like twenty years out. So
- 10:18Speaker 1: they see California as a total disaster. Who knows, maybe
- 10:22Speaker 1: that's what he's plotting, that California is so disastrous right
- 10:25Speaker 1: now that if you start buying up everything there, you know,
- 10:29Speaker 1: ten years from now it'll be worth a fortune. You know,
- 10:32Speaker 1: back in New York when we had the crisis, the
- 10:34Speaker 1: monetary crisis, the remember it was the a beam early
- 10:38Speaker 1: ed Cotch days, where the city was going bankrupt. The
- 10:42Speaker 1: municipal bonds were worthless number Ford President Ford to the
- 10:46Speaker 1: city dropped dead. It looked like the whole city would
- 10:48Speaker 1: go bankrupt and tumble looked horrible. But the smartest guys
- 10:52Speaker 1: in the world ran around buying up all the real estate,
- 10:55Speaker 1: brought up every piece of real estate they could find
- 10:57Speaker 1: in Manhattan anywhere because it was dirt cheap, it was
- 10:59Speaker 1: a sale, and then they made a fortune. Ten years later,
- 11:03Speaker 1: Manhattan was thriving and the real estate was up a
- 11:06Speaker 1: billion percent in fact, So that's maybe what he's thinking about. California.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I don't know why else he'd want to be out there.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Speaking of Miami, the hottest place you could live is
- 11:17Speaker 1: Billionaire Bunker. It doesn't sound great, but you know, like
- 11:21Speaker 1: right over here, that way out that window, it's Billionaire's Row.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Here in Manhattan, fifty seventh Street, Billionaire's Row. It's all
- 11:29Speaker 1: those skyscrapers, hundred stories, ninety stories, one after the other.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Billionaires or so. If you're in Miami, it's a little
- 11:37Speaker 1: island right off Miami. It's called Indian Creek, and it's
- 11:43Speaker 1: just an island of mansions. It's a million mansions in
- 11:46Speaker 1: a circle, real I mean serious mansions. And Jeff Bezos
- 11:50Speaker 1: has bought one of them. Mark Zuckerberg has bought one
- 11:53Speaker 1: of them. All sorts of billionaires. Now in the middle,
- 11:57Speaker 1: these mansions are all along the beach. In the middle
- 12:01Speaker 1: is a big, huge country club and it's been there
- 12:04Speaker 1: for a million years. It's the Indian Creek Country Club,
- 12:07Speaker 1: and it was always one of the most prestigious country
- 12:11Speaker 1: clubs in America. I mean, like, you know, it's like
- 12:15Speaker 1: Wingfoot and West Cheshire. There's Deepdale in Long Island. There's
- 12:20Speaker 1: Indian Creek in Miami. These are the most exclusive. These
- 12:24Speaker 1: are very serious golf clubs. These are not social things.
- 12:27Speaker 1: They're serious golf clubs, so they don't take just anybody in.
- 12:31Speaker 1: But apparently these guys that bought these mansions, Jeff Bezos
- 12:37Speaker 1: and Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates, they're having a hard
- 12:41Speaker 1: time getting in. They can't get into the country club.
- 12:44Speaker 1: They can't get a membership. It's a century old, very exclusive.
- 12:48Speaker 1: They're not looking for big, flashy names. They're looking for
- 12:52Speaker 1: like quiet, old money kind of people. So these guys
- 12:54Speaker 1: are furious they bought the mansion on a billionaire bunker there.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Don't worry. Don't worry. These guys will figure out how
- 13:01Speaker 1: to take it over. Speaking of a Zuckerberg, he's getting
- 13:04Speaker 1: sued in New Jersey. I don't really understand this lawsuit.
- 13:08Speaker 1: They're suing Meta. It's Facebook. Meta owns Facebook and Instagram.
- 13:14Speaker 1: They're suing them for fixing their algorithm so that it
- 13:20Speaker 1: addicts people, it makes you addictive. So what that means
- 13:24Speaker 1: they're playing with the algorithm to make you stay on longer,
- 13:29Speaker 1: and they're suing over that. Now. I don't know how
- 13:31Speaker 1: I think this will end up in the Supreme Court,
- 13:33Speaker 1: because I don't know how you can sue over this,
- 13:34Speaker 1: because everybody does that. Every business does that. We do
- 13:38Speaker 1: it on the radio, they do it on television. It's
- 13:43Speaker 1: done all the time. They do it in restaurants. Everything
- 13:45Speaker 1: is done. They don't have algorithms, but the way they
- 13:49Speaker 1: do run the business is to make you stay longer,
- 13:52Speaker 1: or make you do this, or make you do that.
- 13:54Speaker 1: You know on the radio when the commercial is coming
- 13:57Speaker 1: up and the guy says, hey, right after this, we'll
- 14:00Speaker 1: be talking about the most expensive hotel room in the world,
- 14:02Speaker 1: and that's called the teas. That's to get you to
- 14:06Speaker 1: stay through the commercial and keep listening. Everything is designed
- 14:10Speaker 1: that way. In the radio, I was talking about this
- 14:12Speaker 1: contest you could win the trip to Las Vegas. Remember
- 14:15Speaker 1: we said it's at one o'clock today, you have a chance.
- 14:17Speaker 1: It's deliberate. It's always done that way. We want to
- 14:20Speaker 1: get you listening to at one o'clock. And every radio
- 14:23Speaker 1: station where they have a big giveaway, it's always Thursday
- 14:26Speaker 1: morning at eight. Why is it always Thursday morning at
- 14:29Speaker 1: eight Because in the ratings it's complicated to explain, But
- 14:33Speaker 1: in the ratings, that's we want you. If we get
- 14:36Speaker 1: you Thursday morning listening. It's the best thing for ratings.
- 14:39Speaker 1: You know that all news give us twenty two minutes,
- 14:43Speaker 1: We'll give you the world. Didn't you ever wonder why
- 14:44Speaker 1: why is it twenty two minutes? Why is it twenty minutes?
- 14:47Speaker 1: Because of those extra two minutes, they'll get credit for
- 14:50Speaker 1: another quarter hour in the Nielsen ratings. It's all. Every
- 14:54Speaker 1: business does this. It's all designed to get your listening longer,
- 14:58Speaker 1: to get score more points. They do it in a restaurant.
- 15:01Speaker 1: You think they just put everything on the menu and
- 15:02Speaker 1: that's it. That menu is so scientifically laid out to
- 15:07Speaker 1: create illusions of things to get you to order certain
- 15:10Speaker 1: things you wouldn't ordered by exactly where they place it.
- 15:14Speaker 1: You know, the first thing on the menu is always
- 15:16Speaker 1: ridiculously expensive. That's deliberate. So once you get past this
- 15:21Speaker 1: and look at the other stuff, it doesn't look so
- 15:22Speaker 1: it makes it look cheap. And they put things in
- 15:25Speaker 1: a certain spot in the menu because that's where your
- 15:27Speaker 1: eye is going to get. Everybody does this, so if
- 15:30Speaker 1: they do this with Meta, they could start doing this
- 15:32Speaker 1: with everybody. You know, when you walk into a supermarket,
- 15:37Speaker 1: their algorithm is designed to addict you. You know, why
- 15:41Speaker 1: didn't you ever wonder how come the milk and the
- 15:43Speaker 1: eggs and this stuff's always all the way in the back.
- 15:47Speaker 1: It's far away from the door as you can get.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Because that's the thing people buy the most. That's the
- 15:51Speaker 1: one thing people are always going to be coming to get.
- 15:54Speaker 1: So by putting it all the way in the back,
- 15:56Speaker 1: it makes you go through the whole store and look
- 15:58Speaker 1: at everything else. They put certain things on certain shelves
- 16:02Speaker 1: because that's what your eye will see. Every business does
- 16:05Speaker 1: this stuff. Hey, we'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred
- 16:08Speaker 1: three two one zero seven ten is the number eight
- 16:12Speaker 1: hundred three two one zero seven ten.
