- 0:05Welcome to Positively three hundred and sixty five, a podcast by Joe wattis.
- 0:10We wish to entertain, instruct and motivate. If nothing else, hopefully we
- 0:15can entertain and inspire you to live a more positive life three hundred and sixty
- 0:19five days a year. We hope you enjoy this message. There was once
- 0:29a very successful farmer from Texas who started gaining interest in his ancestry. After
- 0:36doing some research, he traced his lineage back to a small town in Ireland
- 0:42and lo and behold, they were a family of farmers too. So he
- 0:47packed his bags and took a trip to Ireland to visit the small town to
- 0:51see if he could track down some of his family. After landing in Dublin
- 0:57and driving an hour outside the city, he stopped in a pub to grab
- 1:02a drink and started asking around about his family. The Texan sat down,
- 1:08ordered a pint and started talking to the irishman sitting at the bar. After
- 1:15explaining his story in the purpose of the trip, the irishman responded, you
- 1:19don't say I've never heard of your family, but I'm a farmer as well.
- 1:23Tell me what's it like farming in Texas? Gladly. The Texan said,
- 1:30farming in Texas has been quite lucrative for me. If you started out
- 1:36in the morning and drove west, you could drive all day before you reached
- 1:41the end of my property. And if you started the next day and drove
- 1:46east all day, you wouldn't reach the end of my property. The same
- 1:49thing north and south. You could drive either direction all day and you wouldn't
- 1:57reach the end of my farmland. Ah, I know what you mean,
- 2:01said the irishman. I've got a tractor like that as well. Sometimes the
- 2:19simplest of things can take on greater meaning. We should recognize even the little
- 2:24blessings in our lives. When we make this shift in our perspective, we
- 2:30begin to recognize that our life is full of blessings. We will talk about
- 2:37this in this week's episode of Positively three sixty five, but first we have
- 2:43our trivia question of the day. Are you ready for it? Here?

- 4:12The question was what did al Capone's business card state? His occupation was
- 4:19the answer, used furniture salesman. By operating under the guise of a used
- 4:27furniture dealer, Capone was able to navigate this tumultuous landscape of his time and
- 4:34establish his dominance in organized crime. Now you know. Acknowledging Little Blessings brings
- 4:51about a profound shift in perspective, enhancing overall well being. Firstly, cultivates
- 5:00gratitude, fostering a positive mindset that counteracts negativity by appreciating small joys like a
- 5:08warm cup of coffee or a serene sunset, individuals become more attuned to the
- 5:14beauty in everyday life. Secondly, recognizing little blessings promotes mindfulness, encouraging individuals
- 5:23to be present in the moment. This heightened awareness contributes to stress reduction and
- 5:30improved mental health. Lastly, celebrating small victories boosts self esteem, creating a
- 5:38ripple effect of positivity. It reinforces the notion that even amidst life's challenges,
- 5:46there are still constant reasons to find joy, gratitude, and contentment. A
- 6:03girl was packing up her things to head back to college after spending the Christmas
- 6:09break with her family. She looked into her parents bedroom and said, do
- 6:15you do that every day? The mother replied, do what every day?
- 6:19She said, make your bed and put all those pillows on it. The
- 6:26mother said, yes, I do. Why, she responded, because you
- 6:31and dad are the only ones who ever see that room. Oh dear,
- 6:36I make my bed every morning because it's a gift that I get to open
- 6:42at the end of every day, a gift that not everyone has. So
- 6:46while I'm wrapping my bed in the morning and I'm unwrapping it at night,
- 6:51I am reminded of what a great blessing my bed is in my life.
- 7:00When we stop viewing what we have as little, insignificant, or not enough,
- 7:05then we get to see what we do have as gifts that we get
- 7:11to enjoy, grant blessings in our lives and provisions for our needs. It's
- 7:18all about having that shift in attitude. Thank you for joining us today.
