- 1:18listen to The Alder Matter Part three and four from Hollywood. It's time now
- 1:23for Johnny Dellar. This is Constance Older. Mister Dollar. Are you all
- 1:30right sure, missus Older? What made you think I might not be well?
- 1:36Just you having left the living room being in your own room like this?
- 1:38Nothing wrong, Missus Alder. I'm fine. I'm sorry. Er Montanti
- 1:42took so long with his k handling demonstration. I hope you weren't bored,
- 1:47not in the least. He's very good. But you did leave. That
- 1:51isn't necessarily a sign of boredom, is it, Missus Alder You left before
- 1:55I did? Yes? Of course the hostess has to keep busy, you
- 2:00know. Sure. And like I said, I wasn't bored. I only
- 2:04left because I wanted a little air. I went out on the patio for
- 2:07it. Wonderful spot, Missus Older. You can see everything, the harbor,
- 2:12the slope down from the house, even anyone who might be on it.
- 2:15I want to see you, mister Dollar, talk to you. That
- 2:19figure is where your car half an hour tonight and every weekday night. Bob

- 2:35Fabulous freelance insurance Investigator, Yours truly, Johnny Dollar, from Special Investigator Johnny
- 2:53Dollar, location in Caracas, Venezuela to the home office Worldwide Mutual Insurance Company,
- 2:58Hartford, Connecticut, The Alder Matter expense account continued, Sometimes it takes
- 3:09only a few well chosen words to start the moutain coming to muhammt. And
- 3:14it looked like I had picked the right ones. With Constance Alder. Whatever
- 3:17she had to say, I wanted to hear it because it was a sinch.
- 3:21Nobody else in this rat race was giving away any information. Yeah,
- 3:23I wanted very much to hear what missus Alder had to say. I had
- 3:28it downstairs right away because I have a fetish about being early, but my
- 3:31timing was bad. Hey, Dollar, you got a minute? Well I
- 3:36can hardly say no to my host, mister Alder, I want in the
- 3:38den. Anything the matter. There's cuts on your face. What happened your
- 3:49daughter's boyfriend, Paul kin King? Yeah, he's got the idea. You
- 3:53hired me to bust up their little romance. He didn't like it, that
- 3:55idiot. Is that all you've got to say, mister older? Huh?
- 4:00Because if it is, let me tell you how I feel about it where
- 4:03I stand. You look, I know you're the insured, but I just
- 4:08about had it with you. I don't have to take that kind of talk.
- 4:10I think you do. You asked me to keep you alive, but
- 4:13you won't lift a finger to help. Every time I ask you a question,
- 4:15you look the other way. Do an imitation of a clam? What
- 4:18am I supposed to be a mind? Reader. All I want you to
- 4:23do is protect Oh come on, come on, Alder, you're smarter than
- 4:27that. Protect you from what you've almost been tagged out once. You must
- 4:30have an idea? Who made that try? And why? I have no
- 4:34idea just like that? Huh mister dollar, Mister Alder, don't you see
- 4:42that by not opening up, you're making a clay pigeon out of yourself.
- 4:45I can tell you nothing. You know that I'd be justified and suggesting my
- 4:51company cancel the policy and you'll have to suit yourself about that. Excuse me
- 4:56just a minute. What did you tell your family and guests about me?
- 5:00Who am I supposed to be? An old friend from up in the States.
- 5:02Uh? Huh, you realize something, old friend. That's the first
- 5:08question I ever asked that you had an answer for. It's the first one
- 5:12I considered you. How to write this, mister Alder? Yes, whose
- 5:18side are you on? Yours are the person who's trying to kid you oil
- 5:30rich Billy Alder, business mind par excellence, super salesman deluxe, the man
- 5:35who could sell or talk you into anything, or could he say one word
- 5:40that might keep another bullet from coming his way? It shouldn't look like it.
- 5:44I left the den, was just starting out to my car to meet
- 5:46missus Alder. I must have been real anxious for our chat, because I
- 5:48suddenly realized I forgot my car keys. I hurried back upstairs and at the
- 5:53top almost bowled over a woman who was about to come down. Oh,
- 5:57I'm so sorry, my fault. That's all right, No, no,
- 6:00I should have looked where I was going here. Are you hurt me?
- 6:02Sectly? All right? Excuse me? Please? Sure was a hard house
- 6:10to make acquaintances, even when they were old and grab and stern. Looking
- 6:14well. I went to my room, got my car keys and my wallet,
- 6:16which lay alongside them. The position of the wallet was interesting. I
- 6:21shut the door, headed once more for my car. The lady of the
- 6:25house was waiting. We took off. I know who you are, mister
- 6:31Donner. While you're here, I'm sure you do. I was just back
- 6:35in my room. What I'll give you a tip. Never search a pros
- 6:40room. He always puts an article down in a certain position and memorizes it
- 6:43automatically. A search you can never replace it, exactly the same way with
- 6:47me. It's wallets. I did not go into your room. Oh the
- 6:51name A guess for me? What are you have? Fifty kind of lady,
- 6:55kind of faded, severe looking. Why, I'm just curious. Col
- 7:00a very old friend from the States, mind telling me where her room is
- 7:04right next to yours? Why? Well, I just ran into her as
- 7:08she was coming downstairs. She looked a little Call it worry. That's ridiculous.
- 7:12She'd have no more reason to search your room than I would. Sure,
- 7:15let's forget it. A little while ago I saw you searching out on
- 7:18the slope, and you know I saw you. Now what were you looking
- 7:23for? An empty cartridge? You think I fired that shot at my husband?
- 7:27Someone did, And there are easier places to go for a stroll and
- 7:30on that slope. I know what you're thinking, but you're wrong. I
- 7:35just wanted to see if I could find some trace of whoever had done it.
- 7:41A shell from a gun, Well, that's interesting, to say the
- 7:44least. I don't like your tone, mister Dalla. I don't blame you
- 7:47because you just made a booboo. Only an automatic ejects as shell a revolver
- 7:53doesn't. In other words, you knew what kind of gun was used.
- 7:58Uncomfortable, missus Alder why don't you go home like to live dangerously? Missus
- 8:03unis slapping the driver of a moving car. Pretty foolish, isn't it.
- 8:07I'm sorry, I'm very sorry. All right, tell me something? How
- 8:11did you know what I was really here for? My husband? I made
- 8:16him tell me, well, congratulations. I can't get him to tell me
- 8:20the time of day, and he knows whose side I'm on. We rode
- 8:28back to the house without exchanging another word, and one thing was obvious.
- 8:33The Sheikh missus Alder had apologized all right, but the anger I'd stirred up
- 8:35could have powered a fair sized city for a week. When we reached the
- 8:39house, she simply got out, headed forward, as though I were a
- 8:43process server she wanted to get away from. I went to my room,
- 8:46trying not to look like a process server, to figure what my next step
- 8:48would be. I was suddenly very grateful to whoever had chosen my room because
- 8:54of two things, the excellent view of the Alder patio and what was happening
- 8:58on it. Her and Doris Cole were having a discussion, with missus Alder
- 9:03doing all the talking. Even from this distance, I could see the anger
- 9:07on both their faces. Then, after a few minutes, both women went
- 9:09into the house. Five minutes later, I was still wishing I could have
- 9:13heard the words, woll miss Cole, won't you come in? Well,
- 9:22I only stopped for a moment. Glad you did. I just wanted to
- 9:26apologize for my behavior when we ran into each other on the stairs a little
- 9:30while ago. Oh nonsense, it was my phone. No, no,
- 9:33I meant well, I was so brusque and well, I just don't know
- 9:37what I could have been thinking of. Oh, you were nothing of the
- 9:39kind. Don't worry about it. You're very nice about it, very nice.
- 9:43Well, excuse me now, won't you? Oh sure thing was called
- 9:46thanks for taking the trouble? Yes, yes, I watched her as she
- 9:54hurried down the hall, an awkward woman who left you with one strong impression
- 10:00that she had little feel for the social graces. The impression was emphasized about
- 10:05two minutes later by a second visitor, one who knew all about the social
- 10:07graces, Constance Alder all smiles and charmed. I'll bet you thought we ran
- 10:13out of food, mister dollar. I was kind of wondering, blame El
- 10:16Montante. Does he eat everything in the house? Oh, not quite.
- 10:20He just refuses to allow dinner to be served, insists that tonight he's the
- 10:24host, that it's his evening. Oh what does that mean? Dinner in
- 10:26town, the highlight matches, and nightclubbing afterward. He simply won't be refused.
- 10:31Insists that everyone in the house be his guest. Sound attractive, Well,
- 10:33it would be pretty hard to say no to an offer like that.
- 10:37Good don't belong. Everyone's dressing like mad should be quite an evening it was.
- 10:46Montante was acknowledged to be a great metador. He had just as much
- 10:50class outside the arena. He ordered at dinner and it was gourmet time.
- 10:54He placed our bets. At the highlight matches, nothing but what it is,
- 10:56and at the nightclub nothing but champagne. For a group of people living
- 11:01in a house loaded with tension, it was a ball and a lot of
- 11:03it was because of the Matador's quiet, easy manner. He was a man
- 11:07who knew how things should be done and did them. It was pretty tough
- 11:11not to like him. Constance Older seemed to feel the same way, her
- 11:15eyes always on him. But the Matador himself was never once on a line,
- 11:18never said or did anything that could possibly offend Billy alder and for a
- 11:22busy host. He was observant. I found that out while the others were
- 11:26dancing. Perhaps I can answer the questions, do I haven't asked one,
- 11:31Signor Montante. I mean words, No, but it's not difficult to interpret.
- 11:37You watch missus older than me. Any question is in your lives.
- 11:41No, you're a pretty sharp fellow, Senor Matadora and a gentleman. Signor.
- 11:48I do not pursue other man's wives. The question is answered partly what
- 11:54happens when you're the pursuit. I see Senor Dollar women with money, but
- 12:01without great beauty. They try to compensate each in her own way. Hercy
- 12:07is not unusual acquisition the company and attendance of a man who is presentable admired.
- 12:16I am not known in the arena, so for the moment it is
- 12:20my company. Tomorrow a better known companion, if one should appear as simple
- 12:26as that his san No Signor and little embarrassing thanks, And I'm the one
- 12:35who was embarrassed. I thought your eye was on the all their fortune.
- 12:41Senor. You know what I received for a Sunday afternoon in any Latin American
- 12:46country ten thousand dollars sometimes more your question is answered, senor well, not
- 12:56quite. Why does the fellow take profile lessons? Like I said, the
- 13:03evening was pleasant, but it was still a job. Watching Doris Cole,
- 13:07now awkwardly dancing with Billy Alder, I kept thinking of a argument with missus
- 13:11Alder her frittiveness. I felt sure she'd been the one who'd searched my room,
- 13:15and there would never be a better chance to return the compliment. So
- 13:18I developed a sudden killing headache, and over the protests of the others,
- 13:20had the ned and grabbed a cab for the older house in Aguiara. In
- 13:26this Cole's room, I did a hurried but theorist search and came up with
- 13:28two things that proved really interesting. A passport with Doris Cole's picture, but
- 13:33made out to one Dora Jansen, and an unsigned letter postmark New York,
- 13:39and a quick scrawl had said simply that the Caribbean Star would arrived in Laguiera
- 13:43on the seventeenth. I'm sorry about your headache, mister Dalla, but there
- 13:48is no aspirin in my room. Johnny Dollar Dollar, there's older here.
- 14:11I must be something the matter with the house phone, I thought. I
- 14:13rang a different room. Doris calls from mister Waller. Well, yes,
- 14:20that's what you got. Uh see here at Dollar, you're not questioning that
- 14:22woman. We were simply discussing two headaches and the value of answering. I
- 14:26want to speak to her. I just wanted to be sure everything was all
- 14:30right, both of you running out of the nightclub with headaches like that.
- 14:33Oh, everything's fine. I'd like to speak to you, though. Sorry
- 14:35it's late. I have a long day tomorrow. I'm afraid it's important tonight.
- 14:43Are you thinking of arresting me, mister Dollar, I'm not a police
- 14:46room, as call you rack black one answering my phone, sneaking into my
- 14:48room while I'm gone, That even's the score. Then you had a quick
- 14:52look through mine earlier in the day, mister, that's what were you looking
- 14:54for? Miss Cole. From Special Investigator Johnny Dower location in Caracas, Venezuela
- 15:07to the home office Worldwide Mutual Insurance Company, Hertford, Connecticut assignment the older
- 15:13matter expense account continued Back in my own room. After saying good night to
- 15:20a sullen Doris Coal, I didn't feel the slightest qualms about having invaded her
- 15:24room and lying about the reason for it. Why should I? The people
- 15:28in the older house didn't seem too concerned with the truth. In fact,
- 15:31the whole cayse seemed to be a question of why or saying nothing. Consider
- 15:37Billy Older had been shot at indicating he had a good reason to change beneficiaries
- 15:41five times in a month, and still he was the original say nothing,
- 15:45fella, keep me lye was all I could get out of him. His
- 15:48wife had lied, his daughter had lied, and Doris Cole, an old
- 15:52friend of the family, had just proved to be a walking lie. The
- 15:54passport I found in her room header photograph, all right, but it said
- 15:58she was Laurah Jansen. An unsigned letter in the same drawer had stated simply
- 16:03that the Caribbean Star would doc tomorrow. I got into bed and a nod
- 16:07thought hit me. If the Caribbean Star didn't doc, would the steamship company
- 16:12have joined the liars club? Too? Expense a count out of seven ten
- 16:18cents. One newspaper bought on the Lagiera docks early next morning. My Spanish
- 16:23is pretty nothing, but I could read the important thing that the Caribbean Star
- 16:26was due at noon? What time to kill? I drove into Billy Owler's
- 16:30office in Caracas. He hit the scening when I told him about Doris Cole's
- 16:33passport. I was suddenly glad I'd mentioned nothing about the letter Dollar. How
- 16:40dare you search the room of a guest in my house? How dare you
- 16:42was returning a courtesy? What mine was searched thoroughly? That still hasn't any
- 16:48reason for your behavior? Oh one way E thinks, mister wrong. I've
- 16:49told you repeatedly, Dollar, there's only one reason I want you here.
- 16:53I know, keep you alive. But how what handcuffs on? I suppose
- 16:57I told you to find some oil and refuse to let you dig any holes
- 17:00in the ground, you'd begin to smell a rat? What are you talking
- 17:04about? Just about everything in this look? I have a very busy Who
- 17:07is Dora Jansen? Mister Alder? And why does she call herself Dora's call?
- 17:11You're making too much of nothing, Dollar. It isn't a crime to
- 17:15use another name. That depends on the reason, doesn't it. She's no
- 17:19friend, O Dollar? I want you tired of that tune For a man
- 17:23who's afraid for his life. You've got more old friends than anyone I ever
- 17:26knew. Also, I haven't noticed anything particularly friendly between you. She's not
- 17:32a well woman. Dollar. I don't want you bother you. Don't want
- 17:36me bothering anyone exactly, not even the one who fired that shot at you.
- 17:38So I can't help getting an impression that you have a pretty good idea
- 17:41of who it might have been. I told you I was busy, Dollar,
- 17:45Yeah, but it's what you haven't told me. I keep thinking about
- 17:52Dollar. Did did you find anything else in that room beside the passport?
- 17:59Whalder? What's happened to your sense of ethics? There was still plenty of
- 18:06time before the Caribbean Star would be docking, and Billy Alder's reaction had dictated
- 18:08my next move. The cable office and not Yara suddenly seemed like a very
- 18:12important place to visit. There were too many silent miles in Caracas, and
- 18:17I needed one that had something to say. Hopefully, miss they can take
- 18:26this now, see Senor, how do you like this to go? Don't
- 18:29spare the horses? Okay? Uh cable rush? Oh see Victor Kelly World.
- 18:36Yeah no, my lousy handwriting here? So Victor Kelly Worldwide Mutual,
- 18:41Hartford, Connecticut, USA, see want all possible information. Dora Jansen aka
- 18:48Doris cole Us, passport one nine B six seven nine four to three dash
- 18:53one one signed dollar and your address for the answer, I'll pick it up
- 18:57here, and lady, please don't dispare the horses. It was still early
- 19:07when I reached the waterfront where the Caribbean Star would soon be docking. There
- 19:11wasn't much point in watching the incoming passengers. I didn't even know who I
- 19:15was looking for, so I found a spot at the pier entrance where I
- 19:18could concentrate on those meeting the passengers. Here I made a grudging concession to
- 19:23all movie detectives Item seven, another ten cents, another newspaper to hide behind.
- 19:29And you know something, It works fine, Doris cole Or. According
- 19:34to that passport, Dora Jansen was nervous, excited, and there was no
- 19:38trouble to stay close behind her. She met a passenger, a short,
- 19:41nondescript man in his late fifties. When they jumped into a cab and hurried
- 19:45away from the pier, they were closely followed by a man clutching an unread
- 19:48newspaper. Me The trip was a short one, about six or seven blocks
- 19:56away, the cab in front pulled up at a cheap hotel on the waterfront.
- 20:00I circled the block once, got rid of my cab, and wandered
- 20:02into the dismal lobby. The fan sleepy clerk made a concession. He opened
- 20:06one eye. See you look for something? Yeah, that gentleman who just
- 20:11came in. I had an appointment with him. Oh don it. I
- 20:15must have left the slip of paper with his name on it my hotel.
- 20:18I can't find it. You know, the gentleman who just went up to
- 20:22room room. Yeah, you want me to say the number? Now?
- 20:27Can you think I ever been to a movie? Oh? No, really,
- 20:30you can save me a lot of embarrassments. You've got it right there
- 20:32on the register. Gee, might if I have a look? I mind
- 20:37block? Friend? When was the last time you got anything for free?
- 20:41Friend? Oh? Why didn't say so? I was trying not to a
- 20:44friend. Here here, let me see you play black jacks and you know
- 20:48how you call it? Do anyone? Yeah? Why like they say?
- 20:53Hit me again? Oh you're rubbing it in. She you want to do
- 20:57business? Or no? And I'm nine ten bucks market schmeer schmooz or just
- 21:04playing drafts. He pointed an oversize forefinger at a name on the lie.
- 21:08You lost interest in me. He went back to sleep. Arthur Singer had
- 21:11said romtes. I went up the stairway. A few seconds later, I
- 21:17moved as quietly as I could down the Grammy second four hallway, stopped at
- 21:19the door at number eight. At first I heard nothing, Then after a
- 21:23long minute, the voices began angrily, as though resuming an old argument.
- 21:26I don't know, let me handle it. No, he does. You
- 21:32wanted all to go for nothing? Wh listened to me. I know what
- 21:33I'm doing. Five minutes later I was back in the cable office getting a
- 21:45second message off to Vic, Kelly and Hydrid. It was a request for
- 21:48anything he could possibly dig up on Arthur's singer. I didn't hope for too
- 21:52much because it would probably turn out to be a a alias, but it
- 21:55was an angle I couldn't afford to overlook. You knocked back for answer,
- 21:59So oh no, I just want you to get this one off, same
- 22:02fella and same way. Not spare the horses. That's it, thanks,
- 22:07Senor. I want to ask you something. Your business partner did I do
- 22:12something to displease him? He seems so angry. Who seems so what?
- 22:17Well? He was so nice at first, but after he read the message.
- 22:22First of all, I have no business partner. Oh, then I
- 22:25make terrible mistakes. Just tell me what happened. Well, this man he
- 22:30come in less than a minute after you leave, was very nice, said
- 22:34he was your business partner. That he just leave you. You were worried
- 22:37because you forgot whether you say something in the message you just said, then
- 22:41you ask him to check it for you. He seemed to know what he
- 22:45was talking. Then that is when he got so angry. He just put
- 22:51it down and leave. What did he look like a little less told than
- 22:53you? And you have gray hair, eye glasses, see glass, see
- 22:57Senor Razio. You know, I'm beginning to wonder if anyone really does.
- 23:02I am so sorry for my mistake, Singer. Oh forget, it wasn't
- 23:06your fault. Just send that second message about the answers. Send her to
- 23:10me at William Alder's house as soon as you get him. Maybe we'll read
- 23:14him together. Sure, Billy Older was my new business point. There Older,
- 23:22the original close mouth fellow. But it looked like there was nothing wrong
- 23:25with his brain or his eyesight. Then suddenly I didn't mind that he'd read
- 23:29my message to Vic Killeen, because a frightened man usually reacts at the extreme
- 23:33ends of the scale. He'd been at the let's do nothing in Maybe he'd
- 23:37now go the other way. There was one more step I could make in
- 23:41the waterfront, so I made it. My credentials presented at the steamship officers
- 23:44got me a look at the passenger list at the Caribbean Star. The name
- 23:47Arthur Singer wasn't on it. I started down the small waterfront street to where
- 23:51my car was parked. My mind was full of Billy Alder and the pieces
- 23:53of this crazy puzzle, tugging one way, pulling another, trying to make
- 23:59sense out of it. Somehow you some sort of slide rule where logie could
- 24:02be a solid base. No matter how I twisted it, and I knew
- 24:04one thing, it just wouldn't work. I didn't have enough yet to make
- 24:08it work. I was just reaching for the door handle when I saw his
- 24:11reflection in the car window, the man who sneaked up behind me, blackjack
- 24:15raised high in the air. The black jack was just insurance he was tough
- 24:18enough an out. I finally worked up to the side of the car,
- 24:22managed a hand nouse and let the car door workers my black check. Five
- 24:30seconds later an officer came rushing up, and five minutes later I sat in
- 24:33the office of hefe Velesquez, Chief of Police. You're feeling on me,
- 24:38Yeah, yeah, sure. Why did you get out of that blackjack artist?
- 24:41Just what I expected? Still won't say who hired him. H You
- 24:45have to understand this kind of fellow, amego I do, huh what I
- 24:48mean? He's us seeing a pickan, you know, sheep houlding master see
- 24:52see for extra two boulevard maybe three. He would black Jackie's mother. He
- 24:57claims he does not know who hired him, that he used to get his
- 25:00money in a letter when I was pats. I say he's lying, of
- 25:06course, but he will stick to the story because he knows he will got
- 25:07the same sentence whether he tells or he does not. A cheap hood won't
- 25:11usually cover for somebody else. This gun does A may go Otherwise he would
- 25:15never be hired again. I'd I'd give a line for a few minutes alone
- 25:19with him. Sorry if I need to, but I like my job.
- 25:22Just wishful thinking, not hard to understand. Well, yeah, lady,
- 25:27not getting anywhere sitting here? You sure you haven't got business somewhere else.
- 25:33I got an awfully big end to talk to that thug. You know I
- 25:36got a well get it? I may. It's like I say, if
- 25:38you ask him on I wonder what is the day? He must tell you
- 25:41Tuesday? You could beat him today. He will still say Tuesday is the
- 25:45weather thing a favor? If I can suppose I don't prefer charges, would
- 25:49you put a tail on him when he leaves? Johnny? Look, I
- 25:52know it's a million, the one against the hood doing a rough up without
- 25:55the money in hand. But if he hasn't collected to may go, like
- 25:57you say, a million to what I know, I'm grabbing at straws.
- 26:00But just in case, if hey come on, huh, okay, hey,
- 26:04where do you go? It's right to the cable office. Yeah.
- 26:08And if a man in Hartford has nothing to say, I've got a permanent
- 26:11seat behind the eight balls. Now here's our start to tell you about the
- 26:30final episode of this week's story Tomorrow. A puzzle never fits itself together.
- 26:34You've got a snoop, pry and juggle the pieces, and sometimes people get
- 26:38killed. That way join us, won't you? Yours Truly Johnny Dubbles.
- 27:00Truly Johnny Dollar is starrying. Bob Bailey is transcribed in Hollywood. Written by
- 27:04Tony Barrett. It is produced and directed by Jack Johnstone. Be sure to
- 27:08join us tomorrow night, same time and station for the next exciting episode of
- 27:14Yours Truly Johnny Dollar. Roy Rowan speaking, welcome back. Well, this
- 28:15is just so far a very solid mystery story, and we've got so much
- 28:21out there, quite a few bits of red herring, and they've only got
- 28:26fifteen minutes to sort it out on Friday, so I'll be eager to find
- 28:30out how they did it. All right. Well on the listener comments and
- 28:33feedback, William emails to say, regarding the open Town matter, it sounds
- 28:41like it was based on an earlier Johnny Dollar story, but I can't figure
- 28:45it out. Well, thanks so much, and I should have mentioned this.
- 28:48I've become used to most of these programs not being based on previous shows.
- 28:56In the second half of the Johnny Dollar serials, this one was based
- 29:00on an episode of Yours Truly Johnny Dollar. The Dan frank Maner original air
- 29:06at eight May fourth, nineteen fifty four and that was episode zero eight four
- 29:11to one, which would have been probably more than a year and a half
- 29:17ago. And Daniel comments actually regarding episode eleven seven to three The Sea Legs
- 29:26Matter Parts one and two says, I know the Open Town Matter is over
- 29:30and the program has moved on to The Sea Legs Matter. However, I
- 29:33just wanted to say that The Open Town Matter is the first show I ever
- 29:36heard. Ever since then, I've been trying to find as much as I
- 29:38can on Johnny Daller. Needless to say, this app was an incredible,
- 29:42fine, amazing job and I can't wait for The Sea Legs Part three and
- 29:48four. Well, I hope you enjoyed the shows. And if you're curious
- 29:52about learning more about Johnny Dollar, John c Abbott has written the Definitive book
- 29:57on Johnny Doller. Well of it as one of the thank you gifts available
- 30:02in our listener support campaign. But you can get it all the time through
- 30:07Amazon and you just put search for yours truly Johnny Dollar and John c Abbott
- 30:12and it'll come out. And they've got it in three volumes and it really
- 30:17has a ton of information on Johnny and a lot of details about his cases.
- 30:22Then we have a comment from Josh Great. I've had the Dragnet podcast
- 30:26and I love Dragnet, and now I enjoy yours truly, Johnny Dollar,
- 30:32Thanks Adam Josh from Hickory, North Carolina. Thank you so much, Josh.
- 30:37All right, and one little brief public service notice, I guess when
- 30:42you have technical issues with the show, be sure to either email me or
- 30:48send a note on Facebook if it's just like an episode's missing. I've had
- 30:52a few people post reviews on sites like iTunes, and that doesn't necessary work
- 31:00the best because then it's there permanently, particularly if you don't change it after
- 31:04it's fixed. You know, three or four years later, people see a
- 31:07review that episode, you know, twelve thirty four, whatever, it wasn't
- 31:12showing up. So the best way if you're having a technical issue with a
- 31:17website with a show not showing up is just to go ahead and email me
- 31:22at Box thirteen at Great Detectives dot net. All right, Well, that
- 31:26will do it for today. We will be back tomorrow with Nick Carter,
- 31:29and then join us on Friday as we wrap up this fascinating case of the
- 31:36older matter. In the meantime, sender comments to Box thirteen at Great Detectives
