- 0:00Speaker 1: Man, I was busy yesterday. I had to So when
- 0:04Speaker 1: we got off the area yesterday, we had to record
- 0:06Speaker 1: a little video.
- 0:07Speaker 2: What I guess it's a promo for a contest. It's
- 0:11Speaker 2: a secret bill. We can't talk about it. It's a secret.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I just want to I just want to thank though,
- 0:16Speaker 1: our director, Nick Davis, for for allowing me to, you know,
- 0:20Speaker 1: to improvise and use my acting chops and in these videos.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I can't stand to look at it. I'm not going
- 0:28Speaker 1: to be able to look at it, I know. So
- 0:30Speaker 1: we did that and then I had to go up
- 0:34Speaker 1: to Ogden to do some recording and I went to
- 0:37Speaker 1: the this place on twenty fifth Street, the Mercantile, Okay,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and it's it's in the old Greyhound bus station.
- 0:46Speaker 2: That's our friend Kim's.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Kim and Kim. There are two Kims. There's Kim
- 0:51Speaker 1: Bauchard and then there's Kim Boucher and Kim Boucher's kind
- 0:55Speaker 1: of runs it and she's a partner in it and
- 0:57Speaker 1: she works with they call them, you know, There's Kim
- 0:59Speaker 1: and the other Kim as they refer to themselves. And
- 1:02Speaker 1: we had some It's a really cool place, but I
- 1:05Speaker 1: had I had not walked into it walked through the
- 1:08Speaker 1: doors of it, probably since I went and got on
- 1:12Speaker 1: a greyhound bus and and and went across the country
- 1:15Speaker 1: to Pennsylvania to go to graduate school. And uh, it
- 1:19Speaker 1: was also the greyhound bus station where I went got
- 1:22Speaker 1: on a greyhound bus and brought me down here to
- 1:24Speaker 1: Salt Lake from my my pre induction draft physical to
- 1:27Speaker 1: see if I was suitable to serve in the Vietnam
- 1:30Speaker 1: You weren't. No, I wasn't. I wasn't. I was physically
- 1:35Speaker 1: and mentally or physically and intelligently able. But then they said,
- 1:39Speaker 1: but you're crazy. We don't want we don't want you.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And so I was eventually four f so I. So
- 1:46Speaker 1: I did that, and then I had to you know.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Then I drive home and and I get back to
- 1:51Speaker 1: my house of Salt Lake and and there is no
- 1:54Speaker 1: water on in my house. The water is gone. My
- 1:59Speaker 1: wife said, I don't know what's what's going on. It's
- 2:02Speaker 1: been off for about a half an hour. Our next
- 2:05Speaker 1: door neighbor water off as well. So I call the city,
- 2:11Speaker 1: you know, the water department, and they and I get uh, oh, gosh,
- 2:15Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know where do you live? Again.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I mean, we've got water emergencies all over the city
- 2:21Speaker 1: right now, Well, there's no emergency in your area. Well, listen,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I'll have to do some detective work on that. I'll
- 2:27Speaker 1: call you back.
- 2:28Speaker 2: So that makes me have to fee, don't you?
- 2:31Speaker 1: And so so they so they didn't call me back
- 2:35Speaker 1: for quite a while. My neighbors water came back on
- 2:41Speaker 1: but ours didn't. And so I called them back and said,
- 2:44Speaker 1: what if your neighbor's water came on but yours didn't.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Did you not pay the bill?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Yes, of course I paid the bill. I paid my
- 2:51Speaker 1: neighbor's bill too. But then I'll send a technician up there. Then,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I guess that's all I can do. I've got water
- 2:57Speaker 1: emergencies all over this city. I can I'll send a
- 3:01Speaker 1: technician up. Well, what it turns out is that they
- 3:05Speaker 1: put new, some new device on the water meter outside
- 3:11Speaker 1: my house and on my neighbor's house too. It's so
- 3:14Speaker 1: I think it's a device where they can monitor.
- 3:16Speaker 2: They're going to start charging you for your use.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Well, they can monitor it electronically, better then they than
- 3:23Speaker 1: just for the old you know, sending a meter reader around.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Now they can do it electronically. I think with this thing.
- 3:29Speaker 1: But they had to turn off the water to the
- 3:31Speaker 1: individual houses to do it, and and so what did what?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Why didn't I have water? They just forgot to turn
- 3:39Speaker 1: it back on. That was it. That was it. They
- 3:43Speaker 1: had forgotten to turn it back I've so so the
- 3:48Speaker 1: and the technician guys who came that, they came up
- 3:51Speaker 1: and they, oh, there's their problem. They've put the people
- 3:54Speaker 1: who put the meter on, you know, the thing on
- 3:57Speaker 1: the meter. They've just forgot to turn the water back on.
- 4:00Speaker 2: And I just a knob timing.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Well, I think it's a tool of some sort that has.
- 4:05Speaker 2: To a wrench. It's a special.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Rich's probably a special wrench. So but finally we get
- 4:11Speaker 1: But you know, when you don't have water, you wait
- 4:14Speaker 1: a minute.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I use that for everything.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I can't wait, I can't. I don't really want to
- 4:18Speaker 1: use the toilet very much because actually I think you
- 4:22Speaker 1: can get one flush.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Well, it's whatever's in the tank.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you can get one flush. But then and you
- 4:27Speaker 1: don't and then I'm gonna go take a shop. Now
- 4:29Speaker 1: I'm not. Uh, well, let's make dinner. No, we're not
- 4:33Speaker 1: gonna make dinner. There you got to order out. And
- 4:36Speaker 1: but but the Actually the water got back on in
- 4:39Speaker 1: a time timely enough fashion that we had that we
- 4:42Speaker 1: had dinner. You should send the water department your bill
- 4:44Speaker 1: for dinner. Oh yeah, yeah, something like you because you've
- 4:48Speaker 1: ordered out. Right, Now, what is it you say they're
- 4:50Speaker 1: gonna this is? I think this is just a way
- 4:53Speaker 1: that they can meter monitor your water usage, probably more
- 4:57Speaker 1: accurately than.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Me, because they're going to start charge you for your usage.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Well, they still they charge you for your usage. Now
- 5:04Speaker 1: the meter registers how much water you're using.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I think they're going to be more, That's what I mean.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It's going to be more.
- 5:10Speaker 2: If you use more, they're going to get charged more
- 5:14Speaker 2: than what they think you should be using. It's going
- 5:17Speaker 2: to be a more accurate way of keeping better.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Better, get take care of those leaks. Better get Larsen
- 5:22Speaker 1: plumbing in there. Take care of the leaks. I got
- 5:24Speaker 1: all over the house.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Then you got a leaky house.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Yeah, leaks everywhere.
- 5:30Speaker 2: People keep their mouths shut all these leaks
