- 0:00In the corporate landscape of, well, 2025, there
- 0:03are few organizations that are truly defining
- 0:06what it means to lead. And today we're spotlighting
- 0:10the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DIWA,
- 0:13which has, I mean, made just remarkable strides
- 0:17in youth empowerment. Absolutely, Cori. And their
- 0:19success, it isn't just internal. Right. It's
- 0:22been publicly celebrated. We're talking over
- 0:24five major awards this year, including the prestigious
- 0:27Organization of the Year for Youth Empowerment.
- 0:30In the public and government sector, no less.
- 0:33You know, that level of recognition, it really
- 0:35points to a vision that comes right from the
- 0:37top. Exactly. H .E. Syed Mohamed Altair, the
- 0:41M .D. and CEO of Diwa, he articulated this commitment.
- 0:45And he stated, and I'm quoting here, Diwa's youths
- 0:48represent a driving force in achieving the Dubai
- 0:50Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and in developing
- 0:53innovative and sustainable solutions for climate
- 0:56challenges. So that directly links youth empowerment
- 0:59to, I mean, the UAE's most critical sustainability
- 1:02goals. Yeah. And Diwa is backing this vision
- 1:05with, you know, real numbers and a real structure.
- 1:08Oh, they are. As His Excellency also noted, get
- 1:11this, Diwa's workforce includes 2 ,477 young
- 1:16employees aged 18 to 35. Wow. Which is 23 .12
- 1:22% of its total staff. And on top of that, young
- 1:25employees hold 14 .1 % of supervisory roles.
- 1:29Hmm, so not just entry level. Not at all. And
- 1:33then he says, Diwa's youth council also plays
- 1:36an important role in enhancing youth participation,
- 1:39basically building up their skills. And that
- 1:41youth council, it's so clearly the catalyst for
- 1:44all this success, right? Totally. Its president,
- 1:47Aisha Mohammed Al -Ramaithi, she described their
- 1:50focus on practical development. She said, These
- 1:54programs and initiatives enable young people
- 1:56to keep pace with the latest technologies and
- 1:58adapt to rapid global changes by equipping them
- 2:01with the tools to anticipate and design a sustainable
- 2:04future, allowing them to continue playing a constructive
- 2:07role with lasting impact. And the results are
- 2:10just, they're staggering. Between late 2019 and
- 2:14the end of 2025, the council delivered over 80
- 2:17events. 80? Wow. Engaged with more than 14 strategic
- 2:21partners and earned a 95 % satisfaction rating
- 2:26from its members. I mean, it's just a textbook
- 2:28example of a strategy executed flawlessly. It
- 2:31truly is a holistic approach, you know, where
- 2:34that high -level strategic vision meets actual
- 2:37grassroots execution. Yes. It just proves that
- 2:40investing in youth isn't only a social good.
- 2:43It's a strategic imperative. So here's a question
- 2:47we'd like our listeners to think about. As automation
- 2:50and AI continue to reshape the workplace, how
- 2:54can organizations best adapt their youth empowerment
- 2:58strategies to prepare the next generation for
- 3:00jobs that, well, that don't even exist yet?
