- 0:56Welcome to Bible Women and Bathrobes.
- 0:58I'm your host, Tiffany Fletcher.
- 1:00And today we are talking about the names of Christ, specifically the name of Creator.
- 1:07And with us today we have our founding member, Tamara K.
- 1:11Anderson.
- 1:12Welcome Tamara.
- 1:13So glad to be here.
- 1:14And we have Jen Brewer, one of our awesome advisory board members.
- 1:18Welcome.
- 1:19Welcome Jen.
- 1:20Great to be here.
- 1:22We're so happy to have you.
- 1:23And we're really excited to talk about the story of creation today.
- 1:28So let's just get started with the story of creation in Genesis 1.
- 1:32And so, Tamara, I want to start with you.
- 1:34As you were reading through this story of creation, what are some of the key points that really stood out to you as you were reading through it and thinking about the creation and Christ as creator?
- 1:47Oh my goodness.
- 1:48You know, this is something I've kind of been pondering because I knew this episode was coming up and as I was looking at Genesis 1, there were so many things that I found I could pick out of it.
- 2:00First is that nothing is impossible to God.
- 2:04I mean, he can take out of basically just whatever's out there in the universe and create a sun and moon and stars and a world that spins perfectly around in its position in the sun.
- 2:18And that there's enough to sustain life.
- 2:22Nothing is impossible to God.
- 2:25I think that's one of the key principles we learned just even before we even start reading verses in here.
- 2:31But what I loved as, as I dove into the story of creation in Genesis, it says in the beginning God created heaven and earth.
- 2:42And then it says, and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
- 2:48And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
- 2:51And God said, let there be light.
- 2:55And there was light.
- 2:57I'm just going to pause even right there.
- 2:59I love that whatever God moves upon, whatever Jesus touches, there can be light in it, right?
- 3:10That it can take darkness and remove it.
- 3:15Just his presence brings light.
- 3:17And I think there's so much symbolism just in those first few verses of Jesus being a creator that we can apply today.
- 3:27Right.
- 3:29I'll just start there.
- 3:30And if you guys want to keep going, we can keep going.
- 3:33Oh, it's so good.
- 3:35I mean, it just gives me goosebumps even just thinking about that.
- 3:37First of all, that nothing is impossible to God and that he has created everything.
- 3:42And so surely when things are hard for us, he can help us.
- 3:46He created the earth.
- 3:48Nothing is impossible to him.
- 3:50But also, that symbolism of light and darkness, it made me think, as you were reading, how interesting it is that the darkness was already there, Right?
- 3:58It was the darkness.
- 3:59And sometimes I feel like in our lives is just like the darkness sometimes just comes uninvited.
- 4:05It just kind of overwhelms us sometimes because it is just there.
- 4:09It's a part of life.
- 4:10But if we invite the light in the Savior, like, it moves the darkness away, just like the light moved the darkness away when the earth was created.
- 4:22There's so much symbolism in there.
- 4:25So much symbolism there.
- 4:26Can I just tack something else on?
- 4:28That has kind of been moving in my mind as I read the story of creation again.
- 4:34It reminded me that it takes time to create.
- 4:40God could have probably snapped his fingers and had everything happen, you know, super fast.
- 4:44But there was a process that had to take place with creation, and little pieces fell into place one by one, in the right order, in the right time.
- 4:55You know, you've got to get the earth there and then water and kind of an environment where things can.
- 5:03And then you have plants that need to grow, and then you need to have life beginning take place.
- 5:10Fish and birds and other animals.
- 5:14And then finally you come to his crowning creation of man, right?
- 5:17Who has dominion over the earth, which would be an interesting topic to talk about, but.
- 5:23But interesting.
- 5:25So many.
- 5:25So many things we can glean just from that pattern of creation that Jesus takes his time when he's creating something.
- 5:36And as a creator, it takes me time to do things too, right?
- 5:41And so to be patient with the process, to be patient with the timing, to be patient, because good things can be created, but it doesn't just happen.
- 5:53It takes work.
- 5:54It takes patience.
- 5:55It takes strategizing.
- 5:57And.
- 5:58And I know sometimes I get impatient.
- 6:01You know, I'm like, chop, chop, let's move.
- 6:05I want.
- 6:06I want to skip from A to X.
- 6:09And God's like, ah, no, dear Tamara, that's not how this works.
- 6:14You know, so God is a patient God in all that he creates, whether it is the world around us or creating in us a new heart or a clean heart, as it says in Psalms.
- 6:29You know, it.
- 6:31Creation takes time, but it's worth it to him and it's worth it to us.
- 6:37We just have to be more patient with ourselves.
- 6:39I love that.
- 6:40Thank you.
- 6:41Thank you for sharing that.
- 6:42And also, isn't it interesting that even in God's creation, it began with light.
- 6:46So for us as well, like, if we want growth, if we want any of the things that God created, it begins with light for us as well in our creation process.
- 6:56Jen, what are your thoughts?
- 6:59One thing that just was like a megaphone to me this time through the creation was at the end of almost every day.
- 7:10There was a moment that he stepped back and saw that it was good, that he stepped back and just thought, ah, that he kind of just took a moment to breathe it in.
- 7:25And I get so caught up on what's the next thing, what's the next thing, what's the next thing?
- 7:31That each day was very focused.
- 7:35And by day, like thousands of years maybe, okay, each unit of time was very focused.
- 7:42But at the end, he took that moment to step back and.
- 7:47And see that it's good.
- 7:49And I think I shouldn't speak for all people or all Christians, but I have a tendency to think, oh, I can't think.
- 7:58My own work is good.
- 8:00That's prideful.
- 8:03I have to tear myself down.
- 8:04I can't see the good in it.
- 8:06But everything he did, he stood back at the end of each section.
- 8:10He didn't wait until the full end.
- 8:12Every section he stood back and saw, yeah, this is good.
- 8:17This is good.
- 8:18Yeah, I like where this is going.
- 8:21You know, Can I just tack something onto that?
- 8:24I was just thinking that one of the principles I've learned in goal setting is something that one of my mentors taught me.
- 8:30He said, measure the gain and not the gap.
- 8:33Because I think, especially as we're making progress on big things, that we're creating big goals that we're setting.
- 8:39Sometimes we just see the gap.
- 8:42We're like, oh, I did this, but I have so far to go.
- 8:44And I still have to do this and this and this and this and this.
- 8:47And I think God is giving us a pattern here, right here in this first chapter of the Old Testament.
- 8:54Be grateful for what you have done and recognize that.
- 8:59And I know that as I started to implement this process, like, I started reviewing my weeks, and sometimes I would say, okay, I set these goals for the week.
- 9:08And then.
- 9:08And then I come up to the next week, and I.
- 9:10I would journal, you know, every Monday.
- 9:13How did I do?
- 9:15And sometimes I would always say, oh, how do I do with comparison to the goals?
- 9:18Oh, well, I got a little bit done on this one and this one, but I didn't even get to touch these.
- 9:22And then God taught me this.
- 9:24But what did you get done, Tamara?
- 9:27What did you get done?
- 9:29And so then I started journaling.
- 9:30Well, this child was having a problem, and I was able to help them.
- 9:34And then.
- 9:35And then I made meals for my family.
- 9:38And then, you know, and all of a sudden, those gaps I was seeing and that the adversary wants to shine a line and say, oh, look at everything you did not do.
- 9:47You're lost.
- 9:48I'm sorry, you're worth nothing.
- 9:50But God was teaching me.
- 9:52But look how much you did get done.
- 9:54And be grateful for what you did get done and recognize that.
- 9:57And I think that's where the principle of gratitude even comes into play.
- 10:00I can recognize with a thankful heart what God enabled me to do today, and that that is.
- 10:09That is a powerful principle.
- 10:11Look, for the good that I have done, do I still have room to grow?
- 10:15Absolutely.
- 10:16You know, we're still in the process of creating who we are, and it's going to take time, right?
- 10:23Oh, that's really good.
- 10:25Both of you have said some really, really good points that.
- 10:28Some things that I've thought of as you were talking is.
- 10:32I love, Jen, how you said sometimes we get on ourselves and we think, oh, we can't.
- 10:37We can't see what.
- 10:38What's good, because that's being boastful.
- 10:40But.
- 10:40But no, it's.
- 10:42It's showing appreciation for what God has allowed us to create, like, just being in there and.
- 10:48And being able to do that.
- 10:49And it made me think about how we are God's creation, right?
- 10:53Like, we are his creation and how sad it must be for him when we degrade ourselves or when we say bad things about ourselves or when we don't celebrate what he has given us in our lives.
- 11:07And.
- 11:07And the good, like Tamara said, the good that we are doing.
- 11:10Like, I'm sure that up in heaven, he is celebrating every good thing that we are doing.
- 11:15Like, he is just so grateful for our willingness to step up and be creators with Him.
- 11:21And.
- 11:21And so, as his creations, I think that it's important for us to show gratitude for the good in ourselves.
- 11:30And like Tamara said, recognize that there's going to be gaps, and that's okay, because that's what life is.
- 11:37But if we can see the good, then it will help us to be the good in those moments and to be able to see the good in others and recognize the good that they are doing and help them
- 11:50appreciate it as well.
- 11:52I.
- 11:52I think, you know, God, he tells us it's good.
- 11:55You know, he's.
- 11:56It is good.
- 11:57You have done well.
- 11:58And, and I think that, that, that's something important that we need to understand that as his creation, we are also good and we are seeking him and to create with Him.
- 12:09So some, some of the thoughts that, that I.
- 12:12That came up with, I.
- 12:13I wanted to.
- 12:14I wanted to move to a scripture that really I found very fascinating.
- 12:19In Isaiah 40, it's verse 28 through 31, I just want to read.
- 12:23It says, hast thou not known?
- 12:25Hast thou not heard?
- 12:26That the everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary.
- 12:33There is no searching of his understanding.
- 12:35He giveth power to the faint.
- 12:37And to them that have no might, he increaseth strength.
- 12:41Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall.
- 12:45But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, and they shall mount up with wings as eagles.
- 12:50They shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.
- 12:55And it hit me differently, going along with the idea that we are his creation, that of course he knows how to help us.
- 13:04We can wait on him because he created us.
- 13:07He knows how to renew our strength.
- 13:09He knows who we are individually.
- 13:11He knows how to help us so that we can run faster and our legs will not be weary and our feet will be able to walk.
- 13:20Because he created us.
- 13:22He created us and he has purpose for us.
- 13:25And he is grateful for our willingness to use those legs and those feet and those hands to serve him and to wait upon him and to allow him be a co creator in our lives as we learn to
- 13:38be creators in our own lives as well.
- 13:40And I love how it says that he is the creator of the ends of the earth and fainteth not.
- 13:47That he does not faint in.
- 13:51In how he continues to help create us into.
- 13:55Mold us into the person that he needs us to be.
- 13:59Any.
- 14:00Any thoughts on that?
- 14:00Jen, we'll go with you first this time.
- 14:04So many I'm trying to think.
- 14:06Okay, hone it in one thing that hit me about like the gaps that we feel like we have.
- 14:14And at first I.
- 14:15The thought that came in, well, God is the God of gaps.
- 14:17Like he fills in everything.
- 14:19And then I realized He.
- 14:21It's not just.
- 14:22He's waiting there to fill in the gaps.
- 14:24He's the whole thing.
- 14:26He's.
- 14:28He is the entire backdrop.
- 14:31And our creation is because of his creation.
- 14:36It's all.
- 14:40It's all a part of.
- 14:41Of the same hole.
- 14:43And he.
- 14:47He's so everly patient.
- 14:50And I am so not patient.
- 14:54He's.
- 14:55He's okay waiting.
- 14:56He's okay in the.
- 14:58The waiting space, and I am not.
- 15:00And so that hit.
- 15:01That hit me like, you gotta wait.
- 15:04You.
- 15:04You will have your strength renewed.
- 15:07It is.
- 15:08You gotta wait.
- 15:09But in the way, you can still step back and see that it's good.
- 15:16You know, I.
- 15:17We hear the phrase a lot, you know, your mess to your masterpiece.
- 15:20And I want to get from the mess to the masterpiece.
- 15:23But he teaches no, Find joy in the increments.
- 15:28Find joy along the way while you're resting, while you're waiting.
- 15:32It's all.
- 15:33You know, I feel like the.
- 15:34The waiting is the stopping, and then I'll rest, renew, and then start again and create.
- 15:42That's all part of it, the waiting and the renewing.
- 15:46Like when you think, I don't want to go on a big tangent, but I have a massive love affair with trees.
- 15:53And I did a big deep dive several years ago on the seasons of trees.
- 15:59And we all love to see the blooming and we love to see the green, but the winters are just as vital.
- 16:06That waiting period, if you don't have the winter, you don't have the blossoms in the spring.
- 16:12So it's all a part of it.
- 16:13Even the waiting is the creating.
- 16:16I love that.
- 16:17It made me think about as you were talking about the trees.
- 16:20That is true.
- 16:21Like in the winter, that is when the roots start growing deeper.
- 16:25I mean, there is growth going on.
- 16:27It's just growth that we don't see.
- 16:28It's growth that is the inside underneath that, you know, and that is the growth.
- 16:33Like in the waiting period, it's not a sense of just stopping everything.
- 16:37It is a sense of, okay, I'm waiting on the Lord, so how am I growing my roots deep in him, so when the next storm comes, when the next trial comes, I do not get blown away by the
- 16:49wind, right?
- 16:50Like, just putting those roots deep in him as our Creator and being able to be still while not being still, you know, within and really finding refuge in Him.
- 17:04That's beautiful.
- 17:05Thank you.
- 17:06Tamara, Thoughts?
- 17:08Yes.
- 17:08I was thinking that just building upon that verse that you guys were talking about, there is a beautiful verse in Psalm 19, actually a couple verses Psalm 19:1 through 3.
- 17:20And it talks about how the earth basically can teach us about Jesus and testify of him.
- 17:29It says, the heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth his handiwork.
- 17:36So you can see him in the sky, you can see him on the earth.
- 17:40And then listen to this.
- 17:42I had never noticed these verses before.
- 17:44Day unto day uttereth speech, night unto night sheweth knowledge.
- 17:50There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.
- 17:55And I just paused and thought, what am I seeing, hearing and learning?
- 18:01By watching creation around me, by looking at God's creation.
- 18:07And this morning, before we jumped on this podcast, I took just a quick lap around the block just to get out and stretch my legs.
- 18:15And right now, when we're recording this, this is spring, and the trees are budding and they're pink and they're white, whereas one month ago they were stark and it was winter and it was snowing.
- 18:27And I'm just like, there is a pattern here, you know, that you guys were just talking about that there are seasons that are dark and cold and it's snowing, and we could maybe focus on that for a while.
- 18:45We're just like, I'm miserable right now.
- 18:47I am so miserable.
- 18:49If you're a bulb, you're planted and it's cold and it's wet and you don't have any light, and all of a sudden the snow begins to melt and it melts into water, which is nourishment.
- 19:02And then the sun comes up and there's more sunlight, and the weather improves, and all of a sudden you're budding and you're beautiful.
- 19:13And I just think, oh, my word.
- 19:14There is symbols all around us in nature.
- 19:18If we pause and maybe turn off our phones, take a breath, look in nature and ask God, teach me.
- 19:24Teach me what I can learn by looking at the things around me, by watching the sun rise by.
- 19:32This past year, we.
- 19:33We went to, as a family, to the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
- 19:37It's one of those dark skies.
- 19:38And we happened to be there on a night when it was.
- 19:42There was no moon, you know, there was no light.
- 19:44And so you could see the stars.
- 19:45And we just sat there as a family watching the sunset and the stars come out.
- 19:53And it was glorious.
- 19:55It was so incredible.
- 19:57We don't get to see it because of so much light pollution, you know, But I just remember sitting there in awe.
- 20:04Look at what God has done.
- 20:06Look how beautiful it is.
- 20:08And if we can pause and look at the beauty in that, what is he doing with us in the process of the winters and spring summers and falls and another winter of our life?
- 20:19What can he do with us?
- 20:20And what is nature teaching us anyway?
- 20:23I just had to pull that out because it's kind of been on my mind.
- 20:27I love it.
- 20:27It's beautiful.
- 20:28I.
- 20:29It makes you think about how the transition from winter to spring, like, when we take that time to be still and grow our roots, like, we come out with new growth, we come out with new understanding.
- 20:39We come out with a greater appreciation and beauty for the winter months because it does nourish us for the spring and the.
- 20:48And the summer and the fall.
- 20:50And it's beautiful.
- 20:51And.
- 20:51And I love how it talks about seeing God in nature.
- 20:55It's interesting.
- 20:56So I homeschool my kids.
- 20:58And so I remember a long time ago, I was.
- 21:02My kids were younger, and we were reading a history book.
- 21:05And in the history book, it was talking about how there is no sunrise and there is no sunset.
- 21:11That those are actually.
- 21:13It's.
- 21:14It's.
- 21:15They're actually just a figment of what we see of and what it really is.
- 21:19Like, it's an illusion.
- 21:20And what it really is is that when the sun.
- 21:23When it's the sunset, it's really the earth turning away from the sun.
- 21:27And in the morning, when the sun rises, it.
- 21:30It is the.
- 21:31And the sunrise comes.
- 21:32It is the earth turning back to the sun.
- 21:35And that I had such a spiritual moment with that because it just helped me recognize the truth of turning away.
- 21:45When we turn away from the sun, meaning the Son of God, it is.
- 21:48It plunges us in darkness, it becomes night, And.
- 21:51And we.
- 21:52We struggle to see.
- 21:53But if we turn back to the sun, meaning the Son of God, that is where the light is, and that is by him we can see all other things.
- 22:04And it was such a divine blessing for me to understand that at that time, because homeschooling young kids is hard.
- 22:12And I was struggling.
- 22:13I felt a lot of darkness in my life at that time, and.
- 22:16And I realized I need to turn to him more so that I can receive his light.
- 22:22And it really put me on that journey.
- 22:24I was only already on a journey of light, but it really helped me appreciate it, understand it at a deeper level because of nature.
- 22:30And what I learned about nature in a history book, isn't that.
- 22:33In a science book?
- 22:34Isn't that just such a beautiful thing?
- 22:37Like, so.
- 22:38So thanks for sharing that.
- 22:39That is really beautiful.
- 22:40I didn't realize that there was scripture that just backs that up, that we really can like, find in nature those lessons that God needs us to experience at this moment in our life, in this day.
- 22:51So, Jen, some.
- 22:53Do you have any thoughts?
- 22:55I'm.
- 22:56I'm just basking in, in all of your thoughts.
- 23:00And I just.
- 23:03I keep going back to.
- 23:07He created us, and he created us as creators that he wants us to.
- 23:15To be creators.
- 23:16He wants us to do it with him.
- 23:19He didn't.
- 23:20All of this world wasn't made just.
- 23:22Just to say, oh, it's good, it's great, have fun, go play.
- 23:28It was.
- 23:28Everything is with a purpose.
- 23:31And he is trying to teach us how to create in our sphere.
- 23:36And I.
- 23:39There's.
- 23:40There's one quote that I absolutely love that said God left us the world unfinished for man to work his skill upon.
- 23:47He left the electricity in the cloud, the oil in the earth.
- 23:51He left the rivers unbridged and the forest unfilled and the cities unbuilt.
- 23:55God gives to man the challenge of raw materials, not the ease of unfinished things or not the ease of finished things.
- 24:03He leaves the pictures unpainted, the music unsung, and the problems unsolved.
- 24:07That man might know the joys and glories of creation and that because the world itself is beautiful, it blows me away.
- 24:17And then sometimes I think.
- 24:21And then he said, go add.
- 24:24Go add to it.
- 24:25What can you do?
- 24:26What can you find?
- 24:27He didn't come and tap us on the shoulder and say, hey, there's this thing called electricity.
- 24:32You might want to try it.
- 24:34He allows us to do our own discoveries and take part in that joy of, of kind of being that partner with him.
- 24:44I, I just, I love that aspect of it that it's all about with a purpose for us.
- 24:52I love, I love that.
- 24:53And, and you think about the creation, like, he took so much joy in creation that he wants us to experience joy and, and to be able to have that in our lives.
- 25:04And even, like, I find it interesting that even in the story of creation with.
- 25:08And then you have the story of Adam and Eve.
- 25:10Like, he didn't name the animals.
- 25:12He.
- 25:13He made them name the animals.
- 25:15And then he, like, he gave them.
- 25:17He gave them the ability to create their lives based on his, his experience and his.
- 25:26How he creates.
- 25:28You know, I, I feel like in our lives that, that, like learning the story of creation gives us a great idea of how we can create in our own lives.
- 25:36You know, begin with light, be still and, and see the goodness.
- 25:41Step back and know it takes time and, and by learning those beautiful lessons that we can find as we see God and the Savior as the Creator, like, we can understand how we ought to be creating in our
- 25:57own lives as well.
- 25:59Tamara, any thoughts?
- 26:01Well, this is something that I have an accountability group with a bunch of author friends that we meet every week and we have for probably last six, six, seven years.
- 26:12And I know you guys can appreciate this since you've both written books before, but in the process of creating and writing and kind of getting into that zone of writing and creating, it's sometimes we have writer's block and
- 26:27we're not getting there.
- 26:27We're not getting there.
- 26:28And we're like, ah, I don't know what to add here, lot.
- 26:32Lord, please help me see what this next part looks like.
- 26:36And sometimes we have to go and have experiences that then, oh, something clicks into place and now I can add that part.
- 26:43Do you know what I mean?
- 26:45And so I find it so interesting that in creation, as we partner with the creators, we partner with Jesus in creating art, dance, music, whatever it is, that when we invite him in, he makes it all flow.
- 27:02He makes it all better.
- 27:04There are times when I have sat and I get in the zone and it's like I am.
- 27:09I am in tune with him and everything just flows.
- 27:13And I could sit there and type and type and type, and it just comes, right?
- 27:19And I kind of lose track of time.
- 27:21And my husband will come in and say, hey, it's 6:00.
- 27:24Are we eating dinner tonight?
- 27:26I'm like, whoops.
- 27:27Tamara la Sacatra.
- 27:28She was in creation mode, you know, and it's not always writing.
- 27:32Sometimes I'm creating a workshop or sometimes I'm creating.
- 27:35I've created music before and feeling inspiration come for that.
- 27:39And so it's such a beautiful experience.
- 27:43And I believe that anytime anyone is creating anything, that God is involved.
- 27:50Whether you are a believer in God or not, he is involved.
- 27:53And I think especially as mothers, we.
- 27:56We know that God is with us as we create that life inside of us.
- 28:01It is hard and it requires effort and energy and it's exhausting.
- 28:07And oh, my goodness.
- 28:09But that kind of goes back to that verse that you read in Isaiah of.
- 28:13Of that if we're weary, God isn't.
- 28:17If we're tired, he's not.
- 28:20And we can lean on him and have waiting periods.
- 28:23We don't have to go, go, go all the time.
- 28:25And he will strengthen us in those waiting periods.
- 28:28He will renew us in those waiting periods.
- 28:31And so just being patient with the process, right?
- 28:35It is a process.
- 28:38Be patient with Ourselves, be patient with God.
- 28:40Maybe we need to learn something before we finish whatever we're creating.
- 28:45It's just a process, right?
- 28:47Yeah, I agree.
- 28:48I agree.
- 28:49I do think though, I think that sometimes I think creation is a part of God's world.
- 28:55You know, I do think though I do believe that the adversary sometimes uses creation for his own.
- 29:01His own, you know, whatever.
- 29:03So I think, I think that not all creation is probably good, but I believe that it is if you begin with light.
- 29:09And I think that that's why God showed that like he.
- 29:13He's like, this is light and light is good because it is from Him.
- 29:18And so when we start by turning the light on in our lives and we start with that light, any creation that we do with light is going to be good because it is going to be guided and directed
- 29:30by Him.
- 29:31And as co creators, we will make beautiful things to help his children seek him and find him.
- 29:39And I, I find the creation process fascinating and beautiful and I love it and I'm excited to create more things as, as God invites us to.
- 29:51Right.
- 29:52Well ladies, our time has flown by.
- 29:55I just, it always does.
- 29:56I always look at the clock and like, whoa, we are, we are there.
- 30:01So let's do wrap up.
- 30:02Let's see what, what your thoughts are, your final thoughts.
- 30:06So Tamara, we'll start with you this time.
- 30:08Okay.
- 30:10I think one of my favorite things about Jesus being the creator is being out in nature.
- 30:17And being when I'm in nature, I feel close to my Creator.
- 30:20And so if I feel a gap, feel like he's not close, if I just take time and spend time in his creation, then he does renew me.
- 30:33That, that verse in Isaiah is, that is a part of how he renews me.
- 30:39You know, being out in creation renews me and it is good.
- 30:44And so I'm thankful that he has given us this earth and that we can see his love in everything around us if we look for it.
- 30:54I love that.
- 30:55Thank you so much, Jen.
- 30:56Final thoughts.
- 30:57I.
- 30:58I love the, the part of creation for me that really resonates is the co creation.
- 31:06It's almost a yearning that he has to have us participate in it.
- 31:10And especially as women, we have such a sacred way to be co creators.
- 31:18For those of us who bring children into the world, we can be that ultimate co creator with God.
- 31:25And one thing that just touched on me was how John introduces Christ.
- 31:30That in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
- 31:36And that's.
- 31:36He's talking about Jesus Christ about How creation needs action.
- 31:42It needs speaking.
- 31:45You know, there was a spirit we can talk about a spiritual creation, but it's.
- 31:49He needs us to act, to create, and to.
- 31:53To speak our truth and to speak into creation with that.
- 31:57That's beautiful.
- 31:58As a speaker, words and a writer, words matter to me.
- 32:02They really do.
- 32:03And, And I really do believe that they create our lives.
- 32:05Like, we can create our lives based on the words that we speak to ourselves and about ourselves and about others.
- 32:11And so I'd love that.
- 32:13That's.
- 32:13That's beautiful.
- 32:14I think my.
- 32:15My takeaway is kind of combined with.
- 32:18With all of those and more.
- 32:19Like, I.
- 32:20I want to see.
- 32:23Spend more time in nature and find the lessons that God has for me in nature.
- 32:28I love that it all speaks of him.
- 32:31I think of St.
- 32:33Francis of Assisi.
- 32:34I don't know if.
- 32:34If you've heard of him, but he.
- 32:36He wrote the hymn All Creatures of Our God and King, and he believed that his all creatures, all things were his.
- 32:44His brothers and sisters, you know, and he called them brother, son, sister, moon, you know, like, he believed that they were all part of the creation.
- 32:54And.
- 32:55And he even.
- 32:56He would have give sermons to birds, and there were people that said that birds would stay in the trees and listen to him.
- 33:00And there is something about nature.
- 33:02He believed that nature reflected God.
- 33:05And I truly believe that that nature reflects God, and that as we spend time in nature, that we will find God there and we will find the lessons that he needs for us to know.
- 33:18And I also, just this time around, recognize the importance of starting with light.
- 33:24Like, in whatever we do, we want a good day, create a good day, start it with light.
- 33:29If we want to create a strong family, make sure that light is involved.
- 33:35It pushes back the darkness.
- 33:36And I think that that's very beautiful symbolism in the creation of the world that.
- 33:42That Christ modeled for us.
- 33:44So I hope that there have been things that you've learned today, in today's podcast that have been significant for you.
- 33:51I hope that as you have listened to us talk about God and Christ as the Creator, that it has sparked in you ideas and feelings of wanting to experience creation in your own life.
- 34:03I hope that you take some things away from this and that you begin to increase the light in your life so that you can create those things that God intends you to create and that you can appreciate the
- 34:16creation that he's already given us in nature and also in ourselves.
- 34:21So my challenge for you this week is to go out there and create something beautiful for yourself, your family.
- 34:28And those around you and take time to enjoy God's creation.
- 34:34Until next time.
- 34:36God Bless.
