- 1:20Lord, we are sold out to you or we're not hiding, Lord,
- 1:28anything. We do not hold on to anything,
- 1:31Father, but all that we have we hold loosely, Lord, ready in a
- 1:35moment's notice to sell everything, to give to the poor,
- 1:40and to come and follow you. God, we just want to be found
- 1:43with you. Wherever you are is where we
- 1:46want to be. God, we love you so much and we
- 1:50thank you for salvation and we thank you for your Holy
- 1:53scriptures. We thank you for the indwelling

- 2:25promises that you have given us in your scriptures.
- 2:29And Lord, we just get out of the way and we give you center
- 2:32stage. God, we get out of the way and
- 2:34we give you the whole room. God, we get out of the way and
- 2:38we give you the driver's seat. God, we get out of the way.

- 2:47passcodes. God, you are our everything and
- 2:51you see everything and you know everything.
- 2:53And so, God, we are not hidden and we just open up and we
- 2:57reveal all of our inner motives and all of our inner thoughts.
- 3:01God to you and we know that you're going to work everything
- 3:05out for our good. We love you, King Jesus, we
- 3:09thank you. God, heal us, heal our broken
- 3:12bodies. God, give us a sound mind in the
- 3:15name of Jesus. I pray that you'll restore
- 3:18marriages and restore relationships and help us not to
- 3:22live in the fear of man. Help us not to live in our
- 3:26infirmities. God, help us not to be
- 3:28identified with all of our past trauma.
- 3:31God, I pray that we can rise God high and above all of our
- 3:36circumstances and emotions and feelings, God, and we can walk
- 3:40in the truth God and walk in the light God, as you are in the
- 3:44light and you are truth. King Jesus, we grab a hold of
- 3:48the hem of your garment today and we receive our healing God
- 3:52and we love you. We love you so much, King Jesus,
- 3:56and it's in your holy and precious name that I pray.
- 4:00Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 4:05And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his
- 4:12birth. So we know here that Jesus is
- 4:16not afraid of all of the synagogue rulers.
- 4:20He's not afraid of all of the Pharisees and the religious
- 4:24leaders. Jesus was threatened to be
- 4:27stoned in the last chapter. And then here he is.
- 4:30He goes right back out to his Father's business.
- 4:33Let's see how this most wonderful story from the Word of
- 4:36God plays out. Verse 2.
- 4:40His disciples asked him saying, Master, who did sin, this man or
- 4:47his parents, that he was born blind?
- 4:49Think about it friends, this man was born blind.
- 4:54He did not become blind. So how is it that his disciples
- 5:00would ask if he had sinned? Even though he was born blind,
- 5:08how could he have sinned before he was born?
- 5:12And so they erred by trying to place this man's infirmity, this
- 5:20man's disability upon sinful behavior.
- 5:25And the only sin that we can trace any of this back to is
- 5:30Adam and Eve in the garden in the fall of mankind, when sin
- 5:35entered into the world through the disobedience of the first
- 5:39Adam. But praise God, Hallelujah for
- 5:42the second Adam who comes and who makes every wrong thing
- 5:46right and restores the sight to the blind.
- 5:49And haven't, hasn't your blindness been restored?
- 5:53And that is the whole theme of the whole matter here friends,
- 5:56that we need to attach ourselves as we move in this chapter.
- 6:01We need to know that we were once born blind and we needed
- 6:06the scales to fall off. We needed Jesus touch.
- 6:10We needed him to open our eyes up so we can see the
- 6:14spirituality all around us in the reality.
- 6:17Friends of the truth that there is a whole entire world all
- 6:24around us, and that if they do not receive the Lord Jesus
- 6:29Christ as their Savior, they will die in their blindness and
- 6:33they will be eternally separated from Him.
- 6:36We desperately need to get the word out, friends.
- 6:39We desperately need to help people to lose the blindness and
- 6:44to gain their sight. And we can see here that Jesus's
- 6:49heart is to restore our sight. Friends, we desperately need it.
- 6:56Verse 3 Jesus answered neither has this man sin nor his
- 7:00parents, but that the works of God should be made manifest in
- 7:06him. So Jesus here is saying that
- 7:09he's going to use this moment to glorify God.
- 7:15And we would do well to model after our Lord Jesus Christ in
- 7:19the sense that every single time you see something wrong in the
- 7:23world, it is an opportunity for us to step in as the conduit, as
- 7:29the go between the spiritual realm and the reality of the
- 7:35situation. We as being attached to the Lord
- 7:39Jesus Christ, we have all power and all authority available to
- 7:43us. Friends, you know, there is no
- 7:46cessation of the miracles there. The miracles are still being
- 7:51performed today. God is still doing miracles.
- 7:54And so we need to know that we can call upon the name of the
- 7:59Lord Jesus Christ, which is the only power in the whole world
- 8:03that has any power. And it is the name that is above
- 8:06all names, friends. And it is the name of Jesus
- 8:09Christ that brings about the healing.
- 8:12And we should always assume that God wants to heal and hear Jesus
- 8:16is modeling that for us. He's showing us what it is that
- 8:20the Father desires. He says he wants to bring glory
- 8:24unto God Almighty. Verse 4 I must work the works of
- 8:29him that sent me while it is day.
- 8:32The night comes when no man can work.
- 8:35So here's the reality, friends, the Holy Spirit is working
- 8:39mightily on the earth right now, in this day, in this hour, at
- 8:43this time, friends, in our time, such a time as this.
- 8:48The Holy Spirit is here. The Holy Spirit is moving
- 8:51mightily, but there is coming a time and there's coming a day
- 8:55when the church will be taken up and will be taken out and it
- 9:01will be night time. There will be 7 years of hell on
- 9:06earth unlike anything that this earth has ever experienced since
- 9:11the beginning of creation. Friends.
- 9:14It will be unlike anything that this world has ever known, the
- 9:19destruction that is going to come upon it.
- 9:25And if God had not cut those days short, no one would
- 9:29survive. And we must know that this night
- 9:35time that is going to fall, it is going to be where no one can
- 9:39work because there will be a beast system that is in place
- 9:44that will be monitoring all the activity of all the inhabitants
- 9:48of the entire earth. And God forbid, if you speak the
- 9:53name of Jesus Christ and set people free, you will be
- 9:58beheaded and you will be martyred and you will be
- 10:00persecuted in the highest degree.
- 10:06Jesus here references it. We must work while it still is
- 10:10daytime. Look up and see that the harvest
- 10:14is plentiful. Look up and see the harvest is
- 10:18ripe. Look up and see the harvest is
- 10:21ready. But the workers are few friends.
- 10:25You can see it. And we cannot leave the low
- 10:29hanging fruit on the vine or it will rot. 5:00 As long as I am
- 10:40in the world, I am the light of the world.
- 10:44So we can see here that Jesus calls us to be his light, and we
- 10:49cannot hide our lamp stand, We cannot hide our light, friends.
- 10:54We must set it up on the hill. We must set it up high, where
- 10:58all people who desire to be healed and to be made whole, and
- 11:03for the forgiveness and the remission of their sins to come
- 11:06into the light. Friends, in the light it reveals
- 11:11all of the darkness, and we must deal with it. 6 When he had thus
- 11:17spoken, he spat on the ground and made clay of the spittle,
- 11:23and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.
- 11:29So look here, friends, they're walking along.
- 11:32They see a blind man begging. The disciples ask a simple
- 11:36question that has an enigmatic connotation to it, where they
- 11:43were trying to just be theological.
- 11:46And look at how practical Jesus is.
- 11:49He just spits on the dust of the earth.
- 11:53And we were made out of this dust of the earth.
- 11:56And we will, we will return to the dust of the earth and look
- 12:00at how Jesus's spit as it enters into it and it is rubbed on his
- 12:06eyes. Look at how he asks him to be
- 12:10obedient, and that is the call. Friends, when Jesus speaks a
- 12:14word, no matter how enigmatic it is, if he speaks it, we must
- 12:19obey it, no matter how hard it is or no matter how it seems as
- 12:25nonsense, Friends, we must obey. And look at what this man does
- 12:30here. 7 And he said unto him, Go wash in the pool of Siloam,
- 12:36which is interpreted, sent. So here we can see that this
- 12:42pool was Hezekiah's pool, and it was a conduit that flowed, and
- 12:48it would have been the same water that was poured out on the
- 12:52altar for the Feast of the Tabernacles.
- 12:56And here he's telling this man to go and to wash this clay that
- 13:01he has made, wash it off of his eyes.
- 13:04And this man who is blind must find his way to this pool as a
- 13:10blind man. He must go and find it, but he
- 13:14has to be obedient to receive this healing.
- 13:18And you can see that Jesus used a myriad of ways to heal.
- 13:22And we know that it was prophesied that when the Messiah
- 13:25came that He would restore the sight to the blind.
- 13:28And He does it not only in the spiritual sense, but here you
- 13:32can see Him performing it in the natural.
- 13:38He went his way therefore, and washed, and came sing.
- 13:43You know this is what happens when Jesus gets involved in the
- 13:46situation. You cannot stay blind, you
- 13:49cannot stay deaf, friends, you cannot stay dead.
- 13:53When Jesus enters the room, it's life and it's sight. 8 The
- 13:59neighbors therefore, and they which before had seen him, that
- 14:03he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
- 14:09They all marveled because they knew that this man had been born
- 14:13blind, he had never seen before, and here he is walking about.
- 14:18What a sight, what a thought. Friends.
- 14:21Can you even imagine how all of this in the reality?
- 14:26This is real people, friends in the reality of someone who had
- 14:31been born blind and now you see them walking about looking about
- 14:37how miraculous this whole entire scene would have been to the
- 14:42neighbors into the neighborhood. 9 Some said this is he others
- 14:49said he is like him, but he said I am he imagine that they were
- 14:55divided. Some were trying to play it safe
- 15:00and not admit to what they're looking at.
- 15:03Others were bold and they said it is definitely him.
- 15:07And then here he comes and he confirms what they had thought,
- 15:13that he is in actuality the man who was born blind.
- 15:21Tan therefore said they unto him, How were your eyes opened?
- 15:2711 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay,
- 15:34and anointed my eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of
- 15:40Siloam and wash. And I went and washed, and I
- 15:44received sight. So we must go to the pool of
- 15:51scent, and Jesus was sent for us.
- 15:55We must go to this wellspring of life that has no bottom friends,
- 16:02and it is only life. It is a fountain of life that is
- 16:06flowing both deep and wide. And we go, and we wash in it,
- 16:11and we receive our sight. 12 Then said they unto him, Where
- 16:18is he? He said, I know not.
- 16:21Look at how Jesus, He didn't do this so that everyone would
- 16:27focus upon him. He did it for this man, He did
- 16:32it for the compassion and he did it for the honoring of his
- 16:38Father and the glorification of his Father.
- 16:41And he knew that it all would play out the way that it did.
- 16:45But look how he's not self seeking in the sense that he
- 16:50wanted to make a big public spectacle.
- 16:53He did it and the man received a sight, and now we're going to
- 16:57see how it all plays out. 13 They brought to the Pharisees
- 17:06him that before was blind. 14 And it was the Sabbath day when
- 17:12Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes.
- 17:16Imagine that He could have did it the day before, and he could
- 17:18have did it the day after. But Jesus knew that by healing
- 17:23on the Sabbath that he was going to destroy all of their
- 17:29traditions and presuppositions of all of their laws on top of
- 17:33laws that they had orchestrated, and that they were making others
- 17:38twice the sons of hell that they were.
- 17:41And you can see here that Jesus, Jesus's desire is to break down
- 17:46all of these man made ideas and man made laws and to get them
- 17:52back to the basics, get them back to the truth that Jesus
- 17:58Christ came to set them free from the bondage of it all.
- 18:04That is the fact of the matter. Whom the sun sets free is free
- 18:09indeed, friends. And we are not bound by the law,
- 18:13but we are in grace, friends. And Jesus did not come to
- 18:17abolish it, but to fulfill it. And when we attach ourselves to
- 18:21him, we can have the righteousness of Christ, we can
- 18:25have the forgiveness of sins, and we do not have to work our
- 18:29way into heaven that we can know that we know that the blood of
- 18:33Jesus Christ is enough. 15 Then again, the Pharisees
- 18:54also asked him now how he had received his sight.
- 18:59He said unto them, He put clay upon my eyes, and I wash, and I
- 19:04do see. So this is simple.
- 19:06This is like a child being questioned by his parents.
- 19:12It's very childlike here. This is very elementary here,
- 19:18and they're going to go through a whole long line of discourse
- 19:25that is very childish. 16 Therefore, said some of the
- 19:33Pharisees, this man is not of God, because he keeps not the
- 19:37Sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that
- 19:41is a Sinner do such miracles and such?
- 19:46And there was a division among the them.
- 19:50So you can see here that Jesus draws the line in the sand and
- 19:53he does the same today. There are many who believe on
- 19:57him and who are sold out bond servants of the Lord Jesus
- 20:01Christ. And there are many who refuse to
- 20:05love the truth. And they are deceived and
- 20:08delusional. And that is what you're going to
- 20:10see as the rest of this chapter plays out.
- 20:13You're going to see a group of men that are delusional.
- 20:19They're delusional in their approach.
- 20:21It's very simple. It is the simple gospel, and all
- 20:27they needed to do was turn from all of their hard heartedness
- 20:34and turn to the Saviour and receive their forgiveness.
- 20:38But they refused to love the truth, and they were so steeped
- 20:43in all of their greed and all of their power struggle that they
- 20:48refused to come honestly to the Saviour. 17 They say unto the
- 20:58blind man again, What do you say of him, that he has opened your
- 21:03eyes? And he said he's a prophet.
- 21:08So this is ridiculous that these religious learned folk would
- 21:14come to this commoner and ask, what do you say of him?
- 21:20And they had already made-up their minds.
- 21:22You're going to see as this chapter plays out, they had
- 21:25already made-up their minds that whoever called him the Christ
- 21:29would be excommunicated from the privileges of the temple and
- 21:33being taken care of. And you're going to see how this
- 21:38religious system was interplayed into the political system and
- 21:45the welfare system of that day. And they were afraid to lose
- 21:51their status and afraid to lose the privileges and afraid to
- 21:55lose the help that they would get from the religious leaders.
- 22:04So here they're coming to this man and they say, what do you
- 22:07say of them? And they were already hard
- 22:11hearted, they were already delusional, and they didn't care
- 22:15what he actually had to say. They just wanted to trap him.
- 22:22And he says he is a prophet. And if they would even admit
- 22:26that Jesus was a prophet, then it would excuse him from working
- 22:31on the Sabbath. But they would not even give
- 22:34into that notion. 18 But the Jews did not believe concerning
- 22:43him that he had been blind and received a sight until they
- 22:47called the parents of him that had received a sight.
- 22:50They did not want to believe that this miracle actually
- 22:54happened. They were delusional.
- 22:56And so they call the parents and they want to know what the
- 22:59parents have to say for themselves that this blind man
- 23:02is now seeing. How ridiculous is this whole
- 23:05scene? 19 And they asked them saying,
- 23:08is this your son who you say was born blind?
- 23:13How then does he now see? So they're saying, are Are you
- 23:17sure that this is him? He says that he's born blind.
- 23:22And what do you have to say for yourselves?
- 23:25How ridiculous is this whole scene?
- 23:2820 His parents answered them and said, we know that this is our
- 23:33son, that he was born blind. 21 and by, but by what means he now
- 23:41sees we know not, or who has opened his eyes we know not.
- 23:47He is of age. Ask him, he shall speak for
- 23:51himself. So you can see here that the
- 23:53parents were afraid of being excommunicated from the Temple.
- 23:57You can see here that they are relegating all responsibility to
- 24:01their son who is of age. And they did not want to be
- 24:06twisted in to this whole mess, because they were going to lose
- 24:12their status and privilege. 22 of these words spoke his parents
- 24:15because they feared the Jews, Jews.
- 24:17For the Jews had agreed already that if any man did confess that
- 24:22he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
- 24:25So there's that fear of man again.
- 24:27Friends, we've got to let go of the fear of man.
- 24:30We've got to trust that God's going to take care of us.
- 24:33And what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, but he
- 24:37loses his soul? And what can man do to us?
- 24:41If God is forced, then who can be against us, friends?
- 24:44And do not fear the one that can kill the body, but the one that
- 24:48can kill the body and cast your soul into hell.
- 24:52Friends, that's who we fear. Fear God and watch everything
- 24:55else bow. But these parents here, they
- 24:59were afraid of the Jews. 23 Therefore said his parents, he
- 25:03is of age, ask him. 24 Then again called they the man that
- 25:09was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise.
- 25:12We know that this man is a Sinner, so they're just saying
- 25:16give Yahweh all of the praise for this miracle.
- 25:22Don't give any of it to Jesus. Let's see what this man has to
- 25:27say. 25 He answered and said, Whether he be a Sinner or not, I
- 25:33know not. But one thing I know is that
- 25:38whereas I was blind, now I see. Can you say that today friend?
- 25:45I pray that once you have received your sight that God
- 25:48makes you a minister and that God makes you a minister of
- 25:52reconciliation. I pray that once you receive
- 25:55your sight, you get your marching orders and you see that
- 25:58you are a missionary, boots on ground, you are a Co laborer
- 26:03with Christ, that you are his hands and feet.
- 26:09I pray that you have received your sight.
- 26:12I pray that you can see into the spiritual realm all around you,
- 26:17that there's a war that is waging all around us and we must
- 26:22put on the full armor of God and go out and do war against the
- 26:26enemy. We must not be found being
- 26:30sidelined. We must not be found being
- 26:33asleep. We need to wake up.
- 26:35O Sleeper, look up and see that your redemption is drawing near.
- 26:39Can you say that you were once blind, but now you can see?
- 26:44Can you see your brokenness? Can you see the sinfulness that
- 26:48you need desperately to get rid of?
- 26:52Has the Holy Spirit indwelled you and are you living on fire
- 26:56today? Not just halfway, but
- 26:59overflowing? I pray that that is your story.
- 27:02I pray that you can see 26 Then said they to him again.
- 27:07What did he to you? How did he open your eyes?
- 27:12Look at how it is ridiculous. It's like children, this back
- 27:20and forth discourse. They've already got all the
- 27:24answers that they need, but they refuse to accept them. 27 He
- 27:30answered them. I have told you already, you did
- 27:33not hear. Why would you want to hear it
- 27:37again? Will you also be his disciples
- 27:42year? This man gets to the crux of the
- 27:44whole situation. He's saying, I've already told
- 27:47you what it is that you have asked me.
- 27:48I've already made it as plain as possible.
- 27:51You've already talked to my parents.
- 27:53I've already told you multiple times who it was and what he
- 27:56did. And why are you asking again?
- 27:58Are you going to become his disciple too?
- 28:05And I believe that there was a part of them who desperately
- 28:09wanted to, but they could not, because they feared this fear of
- 28:15man must go. 28 Then they reviled him and said, You are
- 28:24his disciple, but we are Moses's disciples.
- 28:28And if they would have paid attention to the words of Moses,
- 28:31Moses spoke of Jesus Christ, Moses pointed them to Jesus
- 28:37Christ, and they were so steeped in their own legal traditions
- 28:42that they refused to love the truth.
- 28:45He is the truth. 29 We know that God spoke unto Moses, but As for
- 28:53this fellow, we know not from where he is from.
- 28:57So you can see here that this is a lie.
- 29:00They knew that Jesus was of Galilee, that Jesus was from
- 29:04Nazareth. They knew that his parents were
- 29:09Joseph and Mary. They were trying to deceive
- 29:14themselves at the base of the whole situation.
- 29:19They were being deceived. 30 The man answered and said unto them,
- 29:29Why herein is a marvelous thing, that you know not from where he
- 29:34is from, yet he has opened my eyes.
- 29:37So here this man is prodding and goading them.
- 29:41Here this man has already asked them, Are you going to be his
- 29:45disciples? And now he goes on to say, This
- 29:49is marvelous, that you are all so learned, and you miss it.
- 29:54You miss that God Almighty Incarnate is in your midst.
- 29:58You're missing the whole thing and here we need to know that it
- 30:03is a great privilege and we have a grave responsibility that we
- 30:08have churches that we can go and worship in.
- 30:12We have the Holy Scriptures that we have access to.
- 30:15We have the ability to worship Him and when we, when we choose
- 30:21not to and when we turn towards this world and the things of
- 30:25this world and we are so enamoured by beauty, we're so
- 30:30enamoured by money and greed, we miss the mark.
- 30:35And it is all around us. And all of creation tells us
- 30:38that God is real and that we need to be found worshipping
- 30:43Him. And it is marvelous whenever we
- 30:45have access to all of it and we choose not to spend time with
- 30:50him. 31 Now we know that God hears not sinners, but if any
- 31:05man be a worshipper of God and does his will, him he hears.
- 31:12So this is confirmation that Jesus Christ is not a sinful
- 31:18man. We know that Jesus Christ is
- 31:22God, and we know that God honored his prayers. 32 Since
- 31:29the world began, was it not heard that any man opened the
- 31:33eyes of one that was born blind? So here he's showing that Jesus
- 31:40was the 1st person in the history of mankind from the
- 31:44beginning of creation all the way up to this point.
- 31:48You do not find another story from Genesis to John where
- 31:52person was born blind that received their sight.
- 31:56What a miracle. And he's showing them that they
- 31:59are erring grievously, and that they are deceived, and that if
- 32:03they do not repent, and if they do not confess, and if they do
- 32:06not receive Jesus as their Lord, they will not be in communion
- 32:15with God Almighty for all of eternity.
- 32:18They will be banished to damnation. 33 If this man were
- 32:26not of God, he could do no thing. 34 They answered and said
- 32:30unto him, You were all together born in sins, and you try to
- 32:36teach us. And they cast him out.
- 32:38So this blind man became boldened in his faith, and he
- 32:42did not care. And he went ahead and told them
- 32:45what everyone else was thinking. He went ahead, and he was the
- 32:48voice unto them, telling them that they were hard hearted, and
- 32:53telling them that they were deceived, and telling them that
- 32:57they were delusional. 35 Jesus heard that they had cast him
- 33:04out, and when he had found him, he said unto him, Do you believe
- 33:08on the Son of God? 36 He answered and said, Who is
- 33:13he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
- 33:18So here Jesus is going to give him the opportunity to believe
- 33:26on Him, and that is the same opportunity that you were given
- 33:30today. His mercies are new every single
- 33:33day, friends, and you have another opportunity to come and
- 33:37believe on Him and receive your salvation.
- 33:41If you woke up this morning, God's not done with you and you
- 33:44can believe on Him today and you can be saved.
- 33:51And you notice here in verse 36 that this blind man calls him
- 33:56Lord. That is how we must come to him.
- 34:00We must come to him like the woman caught in the act of
- 34:03adultery. We must come to him like the
- 34:06thief on the cross. And we must acknowledge that he
- 34:10is salvation. His name is salvation. 37 And
- 34:17Jesus said unto him, You have both seen him, and it is he that
- 34:22talks with you. Have you seen him as he talked
- 34:28with you? Receive your salvation today,
- 34:32friends, do not give it another day.
- 34:34Do not wait. You might not get another
- 34:37chance. Receive salvation today. 38 And
- 34:43he said, Lord, I believe he worshipped him.
- 34:47That is our proper response when the Lord is in our midst, when
- 34:51the Lord is in the room, when the Lord comes walking in the
- 34:55train of his robe fills the temple, and he is high and
- 34:59lifted up. Our only response is worship in
- 35:03spirit and truth, and to believe on him, and to acknowledge his
- 35:07lordship over your life. 39 And Jesus said for judgment, I am
- 35:15coming to this world, that they which see might not see, and
- 35:21they which see might be made blind.
- 35:28So here he's saying that those who are puffed up and those who
- 35:35think of themselves as wise and those who are usurping their
- 35:42authority over the masses, and those who think of themselves as
- 35:46learned, the little bit that they have will be taken from
- 35:49them. But those who come to God,
- 35:52honestly, those that come to him broken with a contrite heart, he
- 35:58will not refuse and he will invite you in Friends, in the
- 36:03little bit that you think that you have, He's going to grow.
- 36:11He's going to give you even more friends.
- 36:15When you come to him honestly, when you come to him in the
- 36:19right posture, he will grow your faith.
- 36:22And it is an exponential growth and it is compounding friends.
- 36:27And the little bit that we start with as time goes on becomes a
- 36:33marvelous treasure chest of all the gems and jewels that God
- 36:40gives to us along our journey. And we know that He is our
- 36:46everything. And we don't press for the
- 36:48rewards. All we press for is the heart of
- 36:51God. All we press for is the honor of
- 36:54our Lord Jesus Christ. We just want Him to have
- 36:57preeminence over the whole globe, to be the rightful
- 37:01leader, because He is good and he is kind and He is lovely and
- 37:06he is of grace, and he is truth, friends, and he is life and life
- 37:11abundant, and this whole world desperately needs Him.
- 37:15But they're so enveloped in their sins that they refuse to
- 37:19let go of them because they find their identity in them.
- 37:23And it is a sad thing when we go to the grave in that state. 40
- 37:32And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words,
- 37:37and said unto him, Are we blind also?
- 37:40So here they are self condemned, They have condemned themselves
- 37:48to hell. 41 will end here. Jesus said unto them, If you
- 37:56were blind, you should have no sin.
- 38:01But now you say we see and therefore your sin remains.
- 38:07What an amazing way to end this chapter.
- 38:11Jesus Christ himself tells us the heart of God.
- 38:18You must. This calls for understanding.
- 38:20You must truly lock in. The whole gospel is going to go
- 38:29out to the entire globe. Man is will, man will be without
- 38:33excuse. And there are many who have come
- 38:37before the gospel and before the propagation of the good news.
- 38:42All over the world through planes, trains, automobiles,
- 38:46missionaries being sent out, there are many who have died
- 38:52without ever receiving the good news.
- 38:54And what does he say? He says if you were blind, then
- 38:59there would be sin there because there was not a responsibility.
- 39:04But the Jews here, they have the law, they have the prophets,
- 39:08they have Jesus Christ, God Almighty Incarnate standing in
- 39:13their midst, friends. And they try to say that they
- 39:18see, and he's saying your sin remains.
- 39:21And if they die in that state, they will be eternally separated
- 39:24from him. It is a very dangerous thing.
- 39:28Whenever we have the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ and we
- 39:33refuse it. This apostate church and this
- 39:39falling away is the most dangerous thing that a human
- 39:45could ever be responsible for. When you know the truth, when
- 39:51you've tasted in the goodness of God and you fall away, there is
- 39:54no more salvation for you. You're nailing Jesus Christ back
- 39:58up to public spectacle and shame.
- 40:04But the good news is, if you woke up this morning, you have
- 40:07another chance and you can turn it all around.
- 40:11And Jesus here is giving them opportunity after opportunity
- 40:16after opportunity to acknowledge his deity, to acknowledge that
- 40:22he is God Incarnate. And they refuse him because he
- 40:29did not come in the way that they thought that he would.
- 40:32And we cannot be offended at Jesus when He doesn't come in
- 40:37the way that we think He should. We just need to get out of our
- 40:40own way. We need to be yoked with Him.
- 40:43We need to walk this lifeout with Him, knowing that He is
- 40:47sanctifying us and getting us ready for all of eternity.
- 40:51Friends, do not be offended by Him and fall away, but truly
- 40:55trust in Him through it all, no matter what.
- 41:01Hope you've been blessed by this chapter.
- 41:02I know I sure have. Praying for you.
- 41:10I love you, so does God. We'll see you back here
- 41:18tomorrow. God bless you.
