- Sue: In terms of checking myself for being aware and intentional and mindful about myself, I have a couple of objects that I check on every day, whether it be in the woods, driving around, things that are not official milestones or waypoints, but they're objects that are stationary, and while they might be knocked down or jostled by something else, for the most part every time I walk or drive past that little waypoint remains a constant in my life. What I find interesting is the day that I encounter that object and it's not there, or it's knocked down, or deviates from the otherwise norm of being visible in that place each and every time I pass by, no matter what time. And that little that little bit of emotion of disappointment that you're not seeing that familiar object. And then with me, I then start questioning When was the last time I actually saw it in place? How long has it been since it's been dislodged from its normal, as I see it, position? And of course that's a rabbit hole of self doubt. I don't wallow in it too much, nor do I put any emotion into it, so therefore I'm not projecting anything wonky in terms of energies, but having having these milestones builds this comfort. The things don't change. And of course that's a delusion, isn't it? I don't know why it is that us humans tend to grab on to things that we consider to be immutable, but they are in fact physical objects that can be affected by all sorts of external forces. And it's not so much any thought is given to, you know, what dislodged it or when, other than to ascertain that the last time I saw it was the previous time I saw it, and things have changed since then. And the acceptance of that, the symbolism of silently tracking waypoints in these kind of objects. is our is our need to feel at home and foundationally secure. Things are the way we left them. And yet we're n less adept at accepting things as they change. Think until you get to a place where you have forgiven yourself and loving yourself and you learn to just accept things changing as your foundation, your basis, your comfort. And that can be a little litmus test to your emotional state. When you understand that you're getting upset when things are out of place. Things have changed. Can't can't undo the change, but it's much more difficult to for us to accept the new the change. Just past my waypoint is as I left it. The thing is that's for me as a improvising musician, when you improvise everything changes all the time. Yeah, you have parameters and you have guardrails, musically speaking, but generally an improv is constant change. Maybe that's the key. So accepting change is feeling comfortable, leaping without a safety net. When you build yourself up with those spiritual guardrails, change is nothing more than a breeze. That's what I think. And then you get to a place where you're not having tantrums over the change around things that you couldn't affect. And then once you do that, for me, things became more balanced. Because I could always draw on my experience as an improvising musician to remind myself, things always change. If you like the way something looks, take a picture and accept change. It's just a normal part of life. And that's really easy to say when somebody is just doing something like a visceral connection different style of clothing when it comes to Woo woo hoo, hello. Confirmation with the doe. Deer, female deer. Well hello, mama. Accepting change in life status, whatever the reason, particularly in the personal experience that I had when my husband died. Well it was that's one of those sudden changes that The sooner you accept it, the more balance you have in your life. Comes back to trusting myself because I have faith that whatever the changes are, as difficult as they may have an impact on my life. Got air in my lungs, I'll figure it out. I don't mean to diminish it. It's a hard thing to do, depending on the circumstances. Some cases it's rebuilding your life from the bottom up. And you haven't had time to visualize what that new life was to be other than accepting that event for what it is. An immediate change to what used to be your life into something that is your new life, you just don't know what it is. And the only constant is the fact that you have air in your lunch. You've got the hope to build rebuild it. There's no time for tantrums or anger or rage. You gotta rebuild your life. Four and a half years after my husband died, I'm having that epiphany. I think that's because the first four and a half years there were things always going on with regard to getting beyond the death of my husband in my new life. So give yourself grace and patience. Give everybody around you grace and patience. They're gonna need it to deal with you while you're going through your change. Confirmation. Confirmation with that turf turkey gobble. And if you're listening to this and you're working your way through major changes in what is your life. I feel you. Right beside you actually. We're shoulder to shoulder getting through our individual changes. Give yourself lots of patience. And gratitude for being you. And thank you for listening. Sorry, was that a little over the top in my in my in my delivery? Thank you. Taking time to have a listen. I appreciate you.
